The sad part is, this is all an oxymoron against them.
Sirius "should have been a rockstar, but he didn't have the money for a guitar." Black DID have the money, and he was talented.
Remus "should have been a politician, but he never had a proper education." Lupin DID have a proper education. He was smart.
James "Should have been a father, but he never even made it to his twenties" Potter WAS a father. He loved his son.
All of these things were taken away from them so so so horrifically.
Sirius could never pursue his dreams. He was disowned, he lost his brother, then his best friends one by one. I think that even if he had made it as a rockstar, he wouldn't be able to enjoy his fame knowing that the people who deserved to be with him most weren't there. Not to mention the fact that he spent 13 years in prison, taking the blame for the betrayal of his chosen brother.
Remus could very well have been a politician, and a good one at that. But, like Sirius, he would have been too wracked with grief for his friends, his family. His lycanthropy would have interfered too much, and I think he would've cracked under the pressure of a corrupt and biased government.
James Potter made it to his twenties, but just barely. He was a father and a good one. He gave his life for his son and wife. He should have lived to see his son grow up.
The only line I agree with is the last one.
