Hummus pasta: ADHD-friendly recipe
I first stumbled upon this recipe when i was a vegan a couple years ago, and it’s stuck with me ever since for its simplicity while being nutritionally dense. Literally all you need is pasta and hummus. Of course you can add other ingredients, but the base recipe is a lifesaver when i’m lacking in executive functioning and/or energy. I probably don’t even have to write this recipe out but I’m going to anyways for anyone who needs it.
Ingredients:
Dry pasta, any kind you like and in whatever amount you want to eat. I use about 3 oz of fettuccine
Enough hummus to coat the pasta. I use 2 big spoonfuls. Feel free to go crazy with the flavor, I like roasted garlic personally
Couple pinches of salt
Optional: any seasoning you like. I use nutritional yeast
Optional: any other ingredients you want to add, such as vegetables or a protein
Steps:
Fill a saucepan with enough water for the pasta. Put it on high heat until boiling.
Add salt and pasta to boiling water.
Cook the pasta however long the packaging says to.
When the noodles are done, drain them and save about a tablespoon of the pasta water. If you forget to do this, like I did, you can just leave the noodles a little wetter. It doesn’t really matter that much.
Put the pasta back into the saucepan. Add the hummus and seasoning and stir until the pasta is evenly coated. At this point you can also add any vegetables or whatever.
Put it in a bowl and eat it. That’s it!
Hummus is really high in protein and fiber and shit. Pasta is delicious and filling. This recipe is way too easy for how good it is. You should try it!

So Fox News ran a story about how they think libraries are turning into drug-infested sex dens and I am shocked, shocked that I was never offered any drugs during my 15+ years working in libraries.

You cannot opt out of capitalism to destroy it. At best you can save yourself from capitalism that way. If someone's plan to fight capitalism is to create a new community somewhere in the woods, they don't want to fight capitalism, they want to start a high control group nine times out of ten, the other one time out of ten they just want a few middle-class people to escape it.
Our mutual aid networks, our community organizations, our unions, must exist within the towns and cities of our nation, and must be things every worker has access to. That is what threatens capitalism. It's what scares them. They aren't scared by a commune in the woods, because that commune can never serve as an alternative to their system for most people, it will never be bigger than the capitalist world, at least without being forced to join it, if anything they'd be happy that socialists built their own gulag. What they're scared of is a network that any worker can draw support from, unions that their workers use to collectively bargain, within the towns and cities that their workers live, that's what an actual threat to their power looks like.
A commune that's separate from capitalist society isn't resistance it's surrender.

So You Want to be Solarpunk?
If your neighborhood has a vacant lot, get some neighbors together and turn it into a community garden.
Organize a block party.
Create a maker space enabling folks to repair, repurpose, and swap their old stuff.
Organize a bunch of plant-savvy neighbors to help folks convert their yards from resource hungry yuppie lawns into something sustainable that fits the local biome.
Get a few friends together and clean up the trash on the streets. Make sure to recycle.
Set up Little Free Libraries and Little Free Pantries.
Get tool-savvy neighbors together to help folks with needed household repairs and upgrades.
The punk in solarpunk is about resistance to the alienation and consumer culture that makes our communities unsustainable and our environments toxic.

This guy is my new hero. I LOVE learning about native food plants that just grow everywhere without human help.
The database is a little clunky to use (especially on a phone), but still loads of excellent information.

Refuse Dystopia
I made this print for myself as a back patch - it’s a battle cry. I won’t sit still and wait for the world, for my world, to get better. I’m taking it back myself like a dandelion growing through concrete. We won’t settle for a broken world anymore!!
If you want a sick back patch for your battle jacket, consider picking one up at my store below! I also put it on a tee shirt if that’s more your speed. Hope you enjoy!
