due to, um, popular demand, here’s an actual part 2!! feat. even more haikyuu characters. check out part 1
Oikawa and Iwaizumi (feat. Matsukawa and Hanamaki as their chaotic camera crew)
the show is pretty much a disaster with the four of these running the joint
oikawa likes to talk big about him not being scared of anything only to pretty much hide behind iwa when they visit spooky places. at the same time he’s SO SURE that ghosts want his body for some reason
oikawa, walking around in a haunted prison: i sure hope there aren’t any GHOSTS around who’d want to GRAB a piece of MOI
iwa: don’t worry, your ass is too flat to grab
and iwa is very certain that he can like punch the ghosts (poor boy was raised on hollywood movies like ushijima). whenever oikawa screams in terror he literally just starts punching the air
also iwa keeps writing long letters to the producers of the show to let them do an episode on godzilla
producer: godzilla’s a movie, a fictional one. you know that, right?
iwa: but if u just give us a submarine
producer: DO YOU THINK WE OWN A SUBMARINE?
hanamaki and matsukawa are the show’s main cameramen and boy does it add to the chaotic factor
they film oikawa and iwa on their phones even if its not listed to be part of the show
they even have this clip of iwa typing 30+5 into his phone calculator when he was computing the change for the pizza he and oikawa ordered
matsuhana also have their own twitter account where they constantly livetweet while filming for the show. most of it is behind-the-scenes-clips
one of their funniest posts was this selfie of the two them making a heart around oikawa in the background who had just tripped
there’s also this clip (deleted from the show but posted on their account) of oikawa announcing that he was feeling a ‘cold presence’ in a room with his hand right in front of the air conditioner
tbh if a ghost started throwing iwa and oikawa against a wall, matsuhana would live-tweet it
also oikawa has this habit of leaving pictures of kageyama and ushijima at the places they visit as well as a lock of their hair and a note saying ‘pls curse them 4 me, thank u <3′
Shirabu and Goshiki
and now here we have goshiki, who cares so much about making the show the best and funniest it could be, and shirabu, who’s pretty much in it for the house-jumping
producer: these are haunted houses you’ll be visiting. there are probably ghosts in there
shirabu: yeah, whatever. it’s free real estate (#millenialproblems)
goshiki actually watches a ton of ushiten’s buzzfeed unsolved content and knows that it’s wildly popular and he wants his and shirabu’s show to be popular too
so he kind of ‘borrows’ some of the things that ushijima does but tries to make it his own to avoid copyright
goshiki: *setting up an entire wood carving station* would any ghosts like to carve some wood with me?
there’s an innuendo here somewhere i don’t think i need to explain
the episodes where they sleepover are so funny though. shirabu deadass just brings his entire 7-step korean skincare routine
he’s always like ‘i’ll investigate the bathroom’ but he’ll actually be doing a whole night routine
goshiki, knocking on the door outside: are you okay? you’ve been there for quite a while
shirabu, chilling in a bathtub full of bubbles with a sheet mask on his face and a glass of wine that he stole: oh yeah. there’s just a whole lot of paranormal evidence here the vibes on the thingy are going craaazy
goshiki also tries to do that summoning a ghost with latin thing that ushijima thing that drove the fans crazy
except he does it in gaelic or greek and he just naturally does everything perfectly so he ACCIDENTALLY SUMMONS A WHOLE GHOST
*insert scene of goshiki trying to un-exorcise the ghost and screaming the entire time*
shirabu, still chillaxing in the bathtub: i love my job
Osamu and Atsumu (couldn’t find a gif that i like)
99% of the time they’re daring each other to do something that would get their asses possessed by a ghost or scratched by a demon
they actually had an episode where they went to father thomas to ask for advice abt how to deal with demons and ghosts
atsumu has that ‘i’m not listening to any of this’ expression on his face while osamu is taking notes and nodding so you’d expect at least one of them to follow father thomas
nah, osamu was taking notes to explicitly break each and every one of them
atsumu LOOOVES riling up ghosts and demons
when he and osamu visited annabelle in the warren museum atsumu brought an entire sign that said ‘i dont respect u’ written on it and held it in front of the doll for a whole 10 minutes
he also breathed on the glass because it doesn’t count as touching
osamu, reading from the list he made during the father thomas meeting: provoking a demon: check
this little shithead (i lov him tho) also likes to ‘accidentally leave atsumu somewhere’
it’s a simple matter that involves a lot of dodging around, a yellow wig, and copying how his twin speaks
producer: i have a feeling we’ve forgotten someone
osamu, as atsumu: nope! we’re all here!
osamu, as himself: yep. whatever it is, probably not important

atsumu, videoing annabelle: they think this glass case is meant to keep me safe from you but it’s actually meant to keep you safe from ME
Kita and Suna (sorry, couldn’t find a gif with both of them)
this show only ran for a few episodes and here’s why:
they couldn’t gather ANY PARANORMAL EVIDENCE AT ALL and the places they visit just end up not looking paranormal at all
that’s because kita. accidentally. exorcises. every. place. he. goes. to.
he’s so pure and beautiful though he even brings bowls of rice to offer to the ghosts or spirits that are there
the producers are so confused as to why it keeps happening so they end up dragging kita and suna to the most haunted ass places they could find in the world but nothing helps
random stranger: are you sure you want to enter that asylum? its built on an ancient indian burial ground and then it was turned into a torture house and then a mannequin factory and then an asylum. people have wandered in and aren’t seen again or they leave screaming.
suna, fully aware of the Kita Effect: oh, i think we’ll be fine
kita: *steps one foot into the asylum*
the asylum: all 5000 spirits that haunt it are exorcised, the air is cleared, flowers started sprouting from the concrete, violins play in the distance
kita: this place doesn’t seem so bad
suna also drives spirits away in his own way
he’ll just be sitting around the haunted place, before kita comes in, waiting for them to start recording
and then right before appearing on camera he’ll stretch and this boy’s joints are SUPER CRUNCHY
producer: suna, almost time to film
suna: alright. *stretches and pops the joints on his shoulder, stretches each finger until they touch the back of his hand, twists and crunches his spine, bends over backwards like that bitch from the Exorcist, turns his head around 360 degrees*
the ghosts, watching him: shit. what the fuck?
instead of becoming buzzfeed unsolved now they work as exorcists (kind of like sam and dean from supernatural except they don’t constantly die)
Sakusa and himself
a one-man show right here. his buzzfeed unsolved is more focused on recent hauntings at houses that people currenly live in (kind of like that hannah williams episode)
and the funny thing about the show is that there’s so much glaring evidence that the houses he’s visiting are haunted but he’s so focused on how messy and unclean they are
ghost: *throwing plates in the kitchen and flooding the sink with water from the faucet*
sakusa: oh my GOD. you DON’T RINSE THE SOAP FROM YOUR DISHES. and this trash ISN’T SEGREGATED???
producer: um, sakusa? can we address the elephant in the room?
sakusa: oh, right. sorry. *turns to house owner* LADY THERE IS A COMPLETE LACK OF PAPER TOWELS IN YOUR KITCHEN
buzzfeed unsolved whomst?? no, it’s buzzfeed house clean-up with your host, sakusa kiyoomi
house owner: the story of this house is actually quite tragic
sakusa: you know what’s actually tragic? the mold in those bathroom tiles. ever heard of a toothbrush and bleach diluted in water?
the funny thing is that the house is still very haunted and once in a while something like writing in blood would appear on the walls and sakusa will be like “I JUST CLEANED THAT”
the house ends up being less haunted because the ghosts kinda feel bad about making a mess with sakusa working so hard to clean things up
tldr: buzzfeed house clean-up is basically sakusa cleaning so much that the ghosts are guilt-tripped into not haunting the house anymore

I think we all know by now how deep my love for monty runs. Much love for him, and this analysis wow. I miss him
honestly, losing monty from the 100 was such a vital and irreparable piece of the puzzle that i don’t think the writers fully grasped what they were doing.
after killing off a character like jasper in season 4, monty was the only person left who truly embodied the the vibe of the delinquents, the original premise of the show. and yes, i know what you’re thinking: is that really true with how pacifist preachy he got in season 5? and i’d say yes, it still is, because within that pacifism, he doesn’t lose the attitude of a delinquent, especially in the way he addresses octavia and her tyranny. “you’re a dictator, right?” and i’d love to extend this to a fave character of mine, harper, as well, but really, the fundamental loss in the show comes from monty. in seeing old monty sets on my dash, when it’s things like “favorite trait,” it’s always his sass and you know what: yes! monty is a sassy, rebellious boy. he and jasper had something fundamentally teenage that they carried with them, and killing him off offed the last of that energy.
but what about the other delinquents, you say? monty wasn’t the last delinquent, we still have 6! bellamy & clarke are delinquents by association and rebellious nature, but have always been the parents of the group; they have never symbolized youth. raven was a rebel initially, but the way they flip her character in s6 does not channel monty’s sass, but cruel judgment. murphy is one of the closest to the missing energy of youth, but holds a) too much pessimism and b) does not have a loyalty to the initial concept of the delinquents. his ties are so firmly with emori and he’s never truly been that close to any of the ark spin-off societies. octavia’s redemption arc and descent into madness vetoes her from being able to carry this energy- her storyline already carries too much separate weight and she can’t be fighting against the authority when she IS the authority for a good period of time. finally, miller comes remarkably close to being that symbol of delinquent energy, but the writers won’t give him the time of day. i’d say particularly miller’s energy in 6x01, 6x11, and 6x12 show this well, but that’s also the ONLY screentime he really gets in season 6. and then in season 7, he’s just turned into a guy who says “i’m sick of this shit.”
i think the writers tried to rectify this loss with jordan, but much like miller, couldn’t give him adequate screentime and thought that the answer to losing monty was to introduce a character with naïveté. but monty wasn’t naive, he was perceptive, thoughtful, and a savage burn-giver, who held on to the rebellion of the initial premise of the show well. jordan does none of that.
on top of all this, they try to preserve monty’s legacy for all of season 6, but they mistake monty’s legacy to be just his pacifism. he’s ‘just that pacifist guy,’ despite this only being his motivation for half of a single season.
this is tldr to say, i miss monty and removing him from the show lost the fundamental nature of the original premise, which had already faded by season 5, but he was single-handedly keeping at least the idea and vibes of it alive. killing monty killed the concept of the delinquents in finality to me. i think it was a mistake, and a big one.

a/n: i thought this was really cute and i had a lot of fun writing it!! i looked up ace since i didn’t specifically know if you wanted me to write about a volleyball ace, so i did the results which came up. i tried to keep the romance down as well. thank you for requesting.
You and Tsukishima were secret friends. Everyone thought he was just cold towards everyone he was around, everyone except Yamaguchi, one of his only friends. Everyone thought of him as a troubled teen, who just didn’t know how to act around others. Deep down, he was stressed. He wasn’t like this, not until the only person he looked up to had lied to him, causing years later, when the two of you met in your first year, for him to wrap his arms around you and cry out about his pain.
The two of you kept your friendship hidden. You let Tsukishima come talk to you if anything was troubling him, letting him stay the night at your house if he ever wanted to avoid his brother. You’re a special person to him. You two were in your second year. Tsukishima was still in the volleyball team, still putting up with Hinata, Kageyama and the rest of the boys.
His brother was going to be home again tonight, and he knew that if he was alone, he was going to have to deal with him. So, he walked over to you in the secret spot you two always met at, his hands in his school pants pockets, headphones on, walking over to where you were seated under the small tree, a book in your hand.
Noticing that someone was there, you turned your head, eyes meeting Tsukishima’s golden brown ones. He took his headphones off, sitting down next to you as you shut your book.
“Do you want to stay over tonight?” he asked, quietly, almost as if he was shy to as.
“Sure,” you smiled.
Practice ended. He grabbed his clothes, changing, grabbing his bag, about to leave the room when,
“Hey Tsukki, do you wanna come with me and the rest to Ukai’s shop?” Yamaguchi asked.
“Sorry, I’ve to head home.”
He left the school, full aware that you were going to be arriving soon. You set a time. 7pm. He planned tell his parents that he needed to study, and then bring you into the house. He arrived home, saying hello to everyone before locking the door to his room, sitting at his desk. He studied as time went by, watching the clock as the time slowly moved, nearing 7pm.
Tsukishima’s phone lit up, showing the message which simply said, “I’m outside”. He opened the door to you, carrying a bag with some spare clothes. Letting you into the house, he brought you to his room. You sat yourself down on his bed, pulling your book open as he sat at his desk. You two were silent. You didn’t speak. But you enjoyed each others company.
When it got late, you shut your book, turning your back to him as he stripped himself of his uniform. You went to the bathroom, changing into your spare clothes while he grabbed a futon and set it up on the floor beside his bed. The two of you whispered a goodnight as he took his glasses off, setting them on the small table next to his bed.
You opened your eyes at a random hour, watching the boy in the bed next to you toss and turn, unable to sleep. Slipping out of your futon, you sat on his bed, your hand moving to his. Tsukishima looked up at your sleepy form.
“Stay with me,” he mumbled, “Please.”
You nodded, letting his arms pull you down into his bed. His eyes shutting as he took in your smell.
“Thank you,” Tsukishima mumbled softly.

Actually didn’t mind the ending of ATLA, until the kiss. I was okay with them just looking off into the sunset together, but the make out session was a bit much 😭
in the end- I can conclusively say I’m not really a Kataang or zutara stan, which is interesting because I only started watching due to zutara hype. I just like them as kids being kids. I kind of wish the finale ended with aang looking at his friends because it would be like a full circle found-family kind of thing, but alas.
