I just finished watching Dead Boy Detectives and loved it!!

I have a question about it, though:

There is a finnish painting called ”Lemminkäisen äiti” by artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela, which really reminded me of the washer woman painting !! :))

I was wondering if there was any chance that it was inspired by it or if it’s just my imagination :D? (Really cool either way)

(Here’s the painting, it’s about Lemminkäinen’s mother griefing the death of her son, based on Finland’s national epic Kalevala)

I personally have always loved that painting -- i first saw it in the Helsinki art museum in about 1997 and it was my second favourite painting there.

this past week i have removed twitter (it scares me) and removed tiktok (it scares me and i was addicted) and slowly started using tumblr way too much for the year 2023... is it better? probably not :)

i found out it's a terrieble mistake to first read quite a lot of terry prachett and then jump into reading neil gaiman for the first time. now i'm being sucked back into my obsession with good omens with the added bonus of having alot of books i'm eager to read and my reading motivation back. as i said a horrieble mistake.

the urge to write a fanfic abt the marauders and make literally everyone aspec and focus on all of the platonic relationships?? not that i've ever written a fanfic before and i have no clue about plot or anything and i'm 99% i will never do it but... it's an idea i guess...

-Lily wondering why she can't fall in love with James like everyone wants her to.

-Mary confessing to Lily and Lily thinking she ruined their friendship forever.

-Being jealous of Sirius and Remus's relationship and hating herself for it.

-Not being able to talk about it with her friends who also gossip about dating and hooking up.

the feeling of wanting to write something beautiful, and not knowing if you're able to becouse you feel so useless doing it. if you start writing a story, the probability that anyone would ever read it is low becouse publishing s hard and it just feels so useless. if you write a fanfiction it just feels so useless becouse it takes a lot of time and in this world doing something you can't profit from is scary. and also fandoms just are... truly brutal. i want to do beutiful things but i dont want to lose my time doing them if i'm doing them for nothing.
