You know when you’re a baby witch and you want to check everything at least five times to make sure you’re getting the signs right?

I asked my spirit guides, again, if I should work with Hades. They TOSSED the Death Card out of my tarot deck (I had it in my hand).

Ok, spirits. I get it. Gonna buy a black candle and give it a go.

(I’m actually pretty excited about it).

For a long time I have been struggling with my body.

Even when I had one meal a day and weighted my *dream number* I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t satisfied.

It took me years and years, nutritionist and psychologist appointments, and then some reflection to finally understand that even while I wish to be thinner, I can - no, I must, love my body.

It has endured so much. It never gave up on me, even when I refused to feed it. It’s okay to think there is room for improvement, but it’s not okay to put my happiness on a future body that may never come. Because I’ve had it, and I wasn’t happy then, either.

But today I decided to go on the self-love journey. Of course it’s not only about my body, but it’s a huge step for me.

Just something I had to let out.

I should be writing.

But more than that, I should feel more confident about my current WIP. I love this story, the characters, the romantic interests... but sometimes I feel like it’s not good enough and that I’m wasting my time when I could be writing something more... appealing, for the publishing industry. Something that could actually get me a publication.

I feel lost and I really wish I had people who write similar things to talk about. I’d love to have a critique partner or something like it (and of course I’d love to read their works and discuss their stories as well).

So, if you write/read fantasy, supernatural stories, are LGBTQI+ (or at least an ally), YA + NA (I’m aware of the discussion that NA is not really a genre, but my stories are usually a crossover between YA and adult-ish); please let’s talk and help each other.

I’m a baby witch and I have been practicing for about two months now (not much, I know). I have been wanting to work with deities but didn’t know where to begin with. Then I saw something (I think it was a TikTok?) talking about Persephone and I was like “hey, I like her”; I realized I had come across a lot of books about Persephone and hades, and I always loved their history. So I asked my spirit guide about worshipping Persephone and he was a bit hesitant, and when I insisted he said yeah, I should. A few days later I realized that the signs were pointing to hades, not Persephone. I’ve had a TikTok showing up on my foryoupage about hades, I had two moths showing up at my house, and when I read about hades I wanted to cry. I got so emotional. I’m getting emotional just from writing about it here. It seems like he’s a kind of father figure, and the universe knows how I need one of these. Anyways, I intend to take baby steps and approach him as best as I can. I feel good about it.
