Netflix worthy movie

I'm here on a typical weekend, looking for something to watch at home. I don't need an action packed movie to have a good Saturday night. Just something weekend worthy to watch with a good storyline to keep my attention.

I found that with 'See You on Venus' on Netflix

A story of 2 teens(Kyle & Mia) that have gone through some hard times and trauma meet under an unfortunate situation. They decide to travel to Spain together to find Mia's birth mother. Secrets were uncovered. A friendship is born between Mia & Kyle. A friendship where feelings developed.

But Mia & Kyle are faced with a scare. I hate when sad things happen, but its part of the story. I was rooting for Kyle and Mia. I wanted Mia to finally win in life after living in foster care basically all her life and bouncing from home to home. She also has a medical condition she is battling. Just wanted something good to happen for her.

Kyle is dealing with a tragedy, and had been so closed off, is now starting to come around.. Through the trip to Spain, they were able to help each other. That's the beauty in this story.

Anyways, if you are looking for something to watch - I recommend 'See You on Venus' on Netflix

'Stranger Things' strange experience

In honor of all the award shows, I thought about my 'Stranger Things' immersive experience. Stranger Things drama tv series won a SAG award in 2017 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a drama series.

I had the opportunity to attend the Stranger Things immersive experience without knowing much about the show. And, WOW I was in for a treat!

Whether you are a Stranger Things fan or not, this is something fun to do with a group of friends.

I'll admit, I had not watched an episode of Stranger Things prior to attending this event, but I was curious and interested in what all the hype was about. They got me! I was locked in and had to figure out how to stop all the strange things that were happening to us.

Let's get into it:

We got tickets to the Stranger Things - The Experience event in Cali and was excited for the experience. The immersive interactive experience is about 45 mins. long. There were lots of people dressed for the occasion. Very fun to see all the costumes

If you're familiar with the Stranger Things tv show, you'll get to interact with some of your favorite characters from the show. You'll be brought into the lab with your assigned group and prepare to unlock your powers to defeat the strange things. And there are some very strange things that your group will enounter while on this journey...beware hahahaha

I'm not going to give any spoilers here, but will say that you will experience some strange and scary things throughout your visit in the lab. Your assigned group will have to work together with their powers - that's right you will have special POWERS to end the strange happenings. Participation is required - kind of. Like recommended. If you want the full experience, I'd recommend full participation.

Lastly, after your experience is over - there is food, drinks, merchandise, mingling, picture taking, games, and hanging out at the sort of after party.

I give this experience a thumbs up. It was entertaining and kept the suspense coming.

Have y'all seen Role Play? You should check it out on Prime. It's a good movie and you'll enjoy it...especially for the weekend!

Hiiii - I had the opportunity to screen a new movie(Role Play) coming out on Amazon Prime Video Jan 12th.

Role Play is an action rom-com movie. There is just enough action and mystery in this movie to keep you engaged and interested. Emma - played by Kaley Cuoco is hiding her career as an assassin from her husband Dave - played by David Oyelowo. They have two kids. The night of their 'role play' anniversary gift to each other is where all the fun began!

Emma accidentally runs into a bounty hunter looking to cash in on her at the bar before Dave arrives at the hotel. Emma must play it off and keep Dave clueless about what is happening. And so the games began. The thrills, action and comedy is what keeps you engaged. Emma must now protect herself, Dave and their 2 kids from danger after her cover is blown.

If you are looking for a rom-com, action/thriller movie with a good storyline, then Thomas Vincent(director) Role Play is a good choice. I enjoyed this movie, and had a few giggles and oohs and awws along the way. It's a cute movie with some action, thrills and comedy. Good watch for the weekend!

the scandals are flying high in Bridgerton season 2

The truth always come out!!!

I finally watched season 2 of Bridgerton. And it was phenomenal!

The Sharmas have made it to England. Anthony Bridgerton is looking for marriage. Queen Charlotte is looking for the new diamond of the season amongst the debutants. Lady Whistledown is selling her gossip news. And the Featherington family is deeply in debt.

Let the scandals begin!

Lady Danbury has a plan of her own. She is sponsoring Edwina Sharma(visiting from India) who is debuting this season and looking for a husband. After Lady Danbury finds out a secret amongst the Sharmas, she pulls some strings with the Queen to get her to make Edwina the 'diamond' this season to shake things up. I think Edwina makes a nice diamond, but she is so clueless to many things. And finds out the hard way...unfortunately

BUT, before Lady Danbury learns of the secret - Kate, the sister of Edwina goes out for a horse ride and runs into Anthony Bridgerton who she has never met before. Kate is not looking for a husband and is only in England to help her sister find a husband. She and Anthony have an exchange, and he seems intrigued by Kate who's very outspoken. AND she beats him in a race. So he finds her interesting and want to know more. But Kate isn't interested and runs along.

Kate is smart, I really like her. She takes care of her sister, and has a strong sense of reality. I thought she was more ready for a husband than Edwina...but understand why Edwina was the chosen one. Again, more secrets. LOL

Once Edwina is announced as the 'diamond' Anthony- who is looking for marriage, immediately ask her to dance and becomes very interested in her.

Kate notices them dancing and remembers him from the horse ride. She then over hears Anthony tallking stating he is not intereted in love, and looks at the marriage as more of a business situation. Kate becomes on a mission to keep Anthony and her sister apart. However, Edwina becomes more interested in Anthony and hopes that he asks her to marry him. Once again, just pretty clueless and eventually things spiral out of control. YIKES

During Kate's quest to keep them apart, something happens. Things start to shift with Anthony and Kate. And things from here on start to get awkward between them. I love a little scandal...right???!!! things start to get real spicy here.

All while Eloise is obssessed with Lady Whistledown and does everything possible to figure out who is behind putting out all the gossip. She starts lying to her family so she can continue her quest to find out who Lady Whistledown is but then runs into trouble with the Queen. And she meets someone special. Things start to get messy. she WONT stop. lol she is totally obsessed. She drives me crazy with this obsession!!!!

Penelope tries to talk sense into her to leave it alone and stop the quest for Lady Whistledown, as it is too dangerous. Penelope gets worried. Is she getting too close...uh ohhhhh

The Featherington's receive a guest- Jack Featherington, heir to the estate. He comes with some secrets of his own. MORE scandalssss. This guy was my least favorite of season 2. He lacked a personality. LOL, but adding to theme, he came with secrets. Is Jack really trying to save the Featherington's estate or get something else out of all this?? Don't worry he gets called out on his schemes soon enough smh

Everything blows up for everybody. All the scandals, secrets are revealed.

I wont spoil anything, but we did get a marriage, Lady Whistledown will continue to write, even though her cover mayyyy have been blown. Honestly, can't blame her for writing all the gossip. Especially after seeing the ugly things people say about her and laugh about her(not revelaing who she is here...hahaha)

I knew Eloise would figure out who was behind lady whistledown with all the obsession she had with her. We will just have to see how things progress in season 3. Oh, and it looks like Jack Featherington is leaving town...yayyyyy

All in all, I love this season so much. There was always some drama. Some very intense moments. OMG...covers were blown. Just all so good! If you haven't watched...please go watch on Netflix!

Why are Wonka's chocolates so good???

I finally got a chance to see the Wonka movie. I honestly did not know what to expect. I thought it would be similar to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. But it was different.

Wonka had a journey ahead of him. His dream! He set out to bring the best feel good chocolates anyone has ever had! He was destined to share this with others. And they could not get enough of Wonka's chocolates.

Wonka's mom was the inspiration of his chocolate making. He kept going what his mother started. He vowed to bring the people the best chocolate they ever had. His chocolates were magical! They made you feel good! Instant satisfaction. Wonka's chocolates did something magical, the unimaginable! Wonka's chocolate store/factory was the most beautiful place in town. Very magical and a place where everyone had fun.

Till the bad guys came long. Till trouble came his way. They did not like the competition. UGHHH - y'all know it was bound to happen. There's always the bad guys in the story. BUT--- Wonka met a very special girl - Noodles who believed in Wonka and she also had a special story. They helped each other(loved this so much)

Together - they worked to keep selling Wonka's chocolates, all while keeping the competition on a wild goose chase around town. hahaha

Final thoughts:

This movie just makes you feel good. Willy Wonka is kind, and makes you feel special. This movie has something for everyone to enjoy! I was skeptical when the movie first started, but as the movie moved along, the story got better. To be perfectly honest, I really want to try Wonka's chocolates(not kidding-lol). The way his chocolates made everyone feel was something special! I definitely recommend this movie. Go see it!!!

3.5/5 - but I feel like it's really 4/5

new year, same me?

It's a new year and things still feel the same as last year. I know it's only been a few days, but was hoping for some instant gratification. Welp, I feel the same. I could've done better

Sooo, I came up short this year. Why can't we hold ourselves accountable??!! lol

I feel like I'm so behind now in my goals and where I want to be in life at this time. Not saying that things are awful, things are ok, but def can be better.

It's time guys! We are leveling up in 2024. We can do it. I can do it. I want to post more often here. Engage more with people on social media. Give more opinions/reviews on tv shows, games, movies and music.

I'm such a fangirl of music, tv shows, movies. I really haven't played many games as I need a new system. Hope to have a new gaming system in 2024.

I need to do better on Letterboxd.

I need to do better with content creation.

I need to attend more events. Then I can bring more content

There were too many missed opportunities.

What I'm trying to say is, 'I Could've done better'
