Falling Asleep On Them HCs

Summary: Just some fluffy naptime shenanigans ig lol

sorry it’s taken me a little while since i’ve posted anything but please enjoy anyways lol :)

Daichi:

so daichi is not one to show you off

he will brag about you and he always shows you how proud he is of you and how much he loves you

but he doesn't really like to show you off

He wants to keep you all to himself for the most part

he will kiss your forehead and hold you hand if you want but other than that he’s not a huge fan of PDA

this is why when you fall asleep on his shoulder during your lunch break his face flushes a bit

as soon as he feels your head come to rest on his shoulder he looks down at you for an explanation when he sees your eyes are closed

he squeezes your hand and whispers your name and when you don’t respond he know you’re asleep

his face goes a red and he bites back a smile

suga and asahi smile, silently laughing a bit, but for the most part they’re pretty chill about it and don’t tease him too much

pretty quickly their conversation is back to normal, quieter if anything but that’s only because they wanted to let you sleep lol

however this was nearly interupted when tanaka and noya came running into the third year classrom because they had a question for dachi

but he glared at them and scared them away

just for you

lol

safest place to sleep is in his arms

10/10 would reccomend

Suga

now Suga on the other hand i feel is pretty big on pda

he loves to hold your hand

he kisses your cheek whenever you two meet up

kisses your forehead whenever you have to leave

hugs you from behing when you’re like standing in line and stuff

he’s just a very affectonate person and he does it in such a way that its not cringey

hes too cute for that

so all this being said he’s not very put off when your head falls on his shoulder when you’re sitting next to him on the bus

he’s kind of happy about it actually

he smiles and presses a soft kiss to your head

also

hes so! warm !!

and !!!

smells so !!!! heckin !!!!! good !!!!!!

definitely takes out his phone and snaps a picture because he thinks your cute

will smack anyone that tries to wake you up with his free arm

he’s just so cute

fall asleep on this boy once and you won’t be able to sleep anywhere else

Asahi

now this boy gets nervous to hold your hand

he couldn’t bring himself to kiss you for awhile because he was scared he wouldn’t be good at it and that you would hate him

pls protect him

so when you’re sitting under a tree during a break

and you pull his arm around your shoulders and curl up into his side

he almost passes out

his face is so red

he’s looking around like crazy

is he looking for help or is he looking to make sure no one’s watching ?

after awhile though when your body heat starts to warm him up and he smells your perfume/colgone and he sees how peaceful you look

he starts to like it

he’ll gently kiss your forehead and smile to himself thinking about how lucky he is to have you

fall asleep on this boy once and he won’t let you out of his arms lol

Tanaka

now we all know this one is a huge fan of pda and showing you off

his hand is always either holding yours, or in your back pocket or something like that

kisses you whenever he gets the chance

all of that

so when you two are sitting in the gym on a break and you lay down next to him and place your head in his lap

and he looks down at you and see how calm you are

his heart nearly bursts

he’s so excited that you decided to sleep on him

he whisper yells at Noya to bring his phone over

takes a million frickin pictures

sends his favorites to the team gc lol

is almost scared to touch you because he can’t bring himself to wake his precious Y/n

eventually goes quiet and just stares at you

hes like ‘wow this human is all mine. i love them so much and they love me too.’

he’s the luckiest person in the world

refuses to get up when it’s time to get back to practice until daichi makes him

pouts for the rest of practice

Nishinoya

now as much as Noya loves pda he’s actually more chill about it than you might think

he just feels like he gets you all to himself when the two of you are alone that, even though he’s holding your hand, there’s no need for it

but he’s definitely down for literally anything you want to do

you want him to keeps arms around you? a-ok

you want him to give you a kiss? why of course

you want a hug? dont even need to ask

you want it, he’ll do it no questions asked but the only thing he really does of his own accord is hold your hand

so when you pull him down onto the bench next to you so you can put your head on his shoulder he goes so soft

only blushes a little bit

‘this is why you called me over here? cute’

makes Hinata take a picture for him lol

sets it as his lock screen because you’re so darn cute

Tsukishima

now this salty piece of boy is not very affectionate

but we been knew

so if you want to so much as hold his hand you’d better be prepared with arguments and your strongest puppydog eyes or something

this boy just doesn’t see the point or appeal of all the clingy cuddly stuff

he lies when he says this of course but we let it slide for the sake of appearances

when you’re sitting with him on the bus back from Tokyo and you pull his arm around your shoulders and rest your head on his chest

his face turns into a tomato

homeboy said blood moon tings

he looks down at you and how calm you look and falls in love with you all over again

smiles just a bit

the definitely see it and tease him to heck and back

this eventually wakes you back up

much to Tsuki’s dismay

“tch nice going you guys you woke them up”

puts his headphones over your ears and puts on a playlist he made just for you before pulling your head back down to his chest

if it weren’t for the headphones you’d hear just how fast his heart was beating

please give this boy affection

he says he doesn’t want it but he’s secretly so touch starved the poor bb :(

10/10 a secret softie

Yamaguchi

now this bean is somewhat similarly Asahi’s situation

his case is not quite so severe though

like he’ll hold your hand and kiss your cheek but it’s never with out a little blush

he actually took to physical affection pretty quickly but he’s still shy about it

so when you pull up a chair next to where him and Tsukishima are sitting during lunch and then wrap your arms around his torso and lean on his shoulder

oof this boy goes very very red

Tsuki snickers at him a bit but doesn’t say anything

they keep talking tho just a little softer now

whenever you shift and he’s reminded of how your holding him he’ll stutter a bit🥺

overall just very cute times

please cuddle this boy

Kageyama

now this stiff lil mans

oof he’s so sweet but he doesn’t really know how to express it

he doesn’t really go very red whenever you take his hand in yours but he gets all the butterflies

he’s so touch starved but he doesn’tknow what to do about it so he just kinda stands right next to you until you get the hint lol

so as you can imagine when you fall asleep on him for the first time he actually does go very red for once and his heart sort of races

you definitely hear it

you’re sitting with him at a tournament and he’s just talking to Hinata about the match they’re watching when you prop your feet up on the seat in front of you and lean your head on his shoulder

he just sorta stops as his face goes red

Hinata, the lil baby oh my goodness, just kinda pesters him about it before he finally comes to and calls him a dumbass and tells him to shut up before he wakes you

slowly relaxes and grabs your hand and rubs his thumb over your knuckles

realises how much he likes being this close to you and asks for more cuddles when you’re alone

Hinata

oh my gosh this little bean

he’s so cute

he invited you to the tournament and they had just won a match against another powerhouse school

he was very excited that you were there for him and the team but for once he was actually kind of tired

so as the two of you sat, watching another match, you both kinda just feel alseep in each other 🥺

at first it was just you, he kept you up all night because he was “just too excited to sleep”

he’s such a child oh my goodness

so, as happy as you were for him, you were also ready to pass out

so you did

you took his hand and snaked your arms around his arm closest to you and put your head on his shoulder

he went a little red but he’s pretty clingy himself so it’s not really anything new

and he was tired too so he just decided to rest his head on top of yours after pressing a kiss to your forehead

the guys would’ve teased him then and there but Suga made them be quiet because “Come on guys this is the quietest he’s ever been”

so they tease him on the bus instead

Team Mom(s)

summary: y/n and suga make up the cutest couple at karasuno and fulfill the duties of team mom, y/n spends the night with him (wholesome-ly don’t worry) while they’re in tokyo for nationals and idk just wait i think it’s rly cute

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

3rd Person POV

Tired, sore, and sweaty, the Karasuno boys slowly make their way into the hotel they’re staying at, Y/n, Suga’s lovely girlfriend and second half to the title ‘Team Mom’, was among them. After having their team meeting in preparation for tomorrow’s match, eating, and bathing it is finally time for them to get as much rest as possible. They’ll definitely need it.

As they get into bed the gentle chatter they had going, save for the few exceptions that were still hyper (we all know who they are), finally started to die down and they were all slowly falling asleep. To each their own of course except for Y/n who had tucked herself neatly into Suga’s bed, her back to his chest and his arms loosely around her waist. Comfortably the couple fell asleep. Undoubtedly photos were taken of the pair to capture the innocence and care, lol sike Noya just thought Suga’s hair looked a lil funny.

Alas a calm silence fell over the room, this of course was a rarity considering the members of the team, but nonetheless the room was comfortably silent, all of them asleep.

Save for a certain redhead who unfortunately was tossing and turning, unable to peacefully rest like his teammates. After what felt like hours, but were really minutes, Hinata threw his blanket to the side with a huff and stood up. Carefully and as silently as the boy could manage, he made his way around the others, and over to the couple that share the title of ‘Team Mom.’

He squats down next to them and gently pokes Y/n’s arm, “Y/n senpai, are you asleep.” His whisper louder than he intended, woke up both moms in the bed.

Groggily Y/n looks up at him, “Yeah uh, what’s wrong Hinata?” He looks down and, even in the dark, the pair can see a light pink cover his face,

“I uh, I-i had a nightmare and I was wondering if maybe, and you can say no of course, obviously you can say no it’s your bed and i don’t wanna intrude or anything-”

While the baby crow quietly babbles on, Y/n turns her head to Suga, he smiles shaking his head but mumbles a soft, “sure,” before dropping his head back down to the pillow, always willing to comfort and support his teammates.

“Yes you can get in Hinata,” Y/n murmurs, cutting off the little ball of nerves in front of her. He pauses before looking between her and Suga-senpai,

“Are you sure?” Y/n lifts up the blanket a bit,

“Knock yourself out,” she says with a gentle smile.

Hesitantly Hinata climbs in with his two upperclassmen, though he keeps his distance in the name of respect; he doesn’t want to cross any more boundaries than he thinks he already has.

“Oh just come here you goof,” Y/n mumbles as she places her arm around the boy’s torso in efforts to bring him closer so she can actually provide him with some comfort.

He blushes for a moment then smiles in appreciation, “Thank you Y/n senpai.”

“No problem Hinata, good night.”

“Good night.” :)

Time Skip

As the sun rose over the horizon the crows all begin to wake. As last night’s trio is mostly comprised of heavy sleepers they are the last to rise, and the last to know about the numerous pictures that were taken of the mother crows who had taken the baby crow under their wing. The teasing that ensued from the team was unrelenting but neither Y/n nor Suga payed it much thought becuase as long as they’re baby crow got some good sleep last night it was more than worth it.

The Boys Helping their S/O through Depression

Disclaimer: this is based purely on my own experience (which is undiagnosed becuase we don’t really have the money for me to see a therapist or anything), everyone deals differently and everyone has different symptoms and reactions. Please reach out to someone you trust and no you are not alone 💜

I am writing this mostly for myself as a bit of a fluffy little pick me up i guess, if anything i write offends you please let me know and i will take it down or alter it

but please enjoy soft fluffy HCs with the karasuno boys :)

Daichi

daichi is very supportive of you

very understanding and patient

let’s you take your time and makes sure you’re as comfortable as possible with him

makes sure you know that you can share anything with him but won’t force you to

when you get especially worked up he lets you cry and yell into his chest while he wraps his arms securely yet gently around you

waits patiently while it runs its course through you and then he first helps you get your breathing under control

then he lets you try to talk it out

or if talking about it just gets you worked up again he talks to/for you, speaking very gently, encouraging and comforting words

will just sit in silence with you on his lap and your head nuzzled on his shoulder with your arms around his neck and his arms around your waist, his hands rubbing circles into your skin to help you relax

eventually tries to distract you and talk you out of it a bit or put on your favourite show/movie just to see a hint of your smile so he knows you’re gonna be ok

never lets you get up from his lap

overall very loving and patient

Suga

sits you down between his legs with your back against his chest, his arms loosely wrapped around you and rests his chin on your shoulder and talks to you in a soft tone

will encourage you to try and explain what you’re thinking and get everything off your chest and helps you clear your head

holds your hand while you’re talking and gently squeezes it to encourage you to keep going

will also just hold you if you can’t talk about it and instead gently tells you everything he loves about you

will also just hold you in silence if that’s what you need

will only leave to get you water or food or whatever else you need to get you through the wave you’re going through

but immediately wraps you back up in his arms when he’s back with whatever you need

Asahi

very understanding and supportive

lays you down in the bed and pulls you into his chest, no matter how big or small you are he still makes you feel completely safe and protected in his arms

listens very intently becuase (i feel like) he knows what it’s like to struggle with mental health

encourages you to wrap your arms around him and hold as tightly as you need to if you get worked up and talks you through it

he helps you slow your breathing and calm back down

is patient through every wave that hits you no matter how long or how close/far apart they are

holds you tight when you’re feeling drained

gives you the best advice and tells you exactly what you need to hear

already has your favourite snacks, water, and your favourite show/movies lined up for when you’re feeling better because he probably sensed it coming

makes sure you know that he’s there for you and loves you more than anything

Nishinoya

more understanding than you’d expect because of how close he is with Asahi

let’s you set your boundaries and respects them

does whatever you need him to

but if you can’t really say anything, he moves very slowly so he can read your response to what he’s doing if he needs to stop and reassess

listens when you speak and responds in the softest voice he can manage

will hold you close to his chest so you can listen to his heartbeat

holds you hand and rubs little circles into the back of it

gently kisses your forehead

if you’re done talking he does his best to cheer you up

understands that you don’t have the energy to really laugh but still tells you jokes to try and make you smile a bit

is very proud and happy if you do

will get you all the snacks if he feels you’re at all better than when it started

loved you so much he just wants you to be ok and will do everything in his power to make sure that you know that

such a sweet boy

the quietest he’s ever been

Tanaka

maybe not as understanding but what he doesn’t understand he makes up for in support

listens to everything you tell him, even in passing

like if you’re just talking on a regular day when you feel fine and you mention something that normally helps you he will immediately try to memorise that thing and definitely writes it down when he gets the chance

let’s you move him where you need him and holds you however you want

does his best to talk you through the particularly bad waves but will stay silent if it’s not doing anything and just holds you tighter

carries you around, if you let him, so he can keep and eye on you while he gets food and water for you

will tell you stories to try and distract you

tried to make you laugh

is a little disheartened when you barely manage a smile, if at all, but he never takes it personally

holds your hand and tells you how much he loves you

helps you stay strong through the worst of it

Tsukishima

is kind of the silent supporter

sits on the bed and let’s you curl up into his side with his arm around you and gently rubs your arm

listens to every word you say

never interrupts you

takes it very seriously, this is one of the few times he’s never sarcastic or anything, he wants you to know he truly does care about you

he says few words but is very kind and unjudgemental

wants to make you feel safe and comfortable with him

keeps a few bottles of water next to him for you

shares his music with you to help you relax

when he feels like you’re starting to come out of it he jokingly complains about Kageyama and Hinata to try and make you smile

softly talks to you about dinosaurs to keep your mind from drifting back to what set your depression in motion this time

very serious, but gentle and calm

Yamaguchi

sits next to you and has his hand on your back rubbing patterns to try and release the tension in your muscles

tells you it’s ok to feel everything you’re feeling and helps you work through your thoughts

super understanding

also gives very good advice and knows exactly what to say

makes sure to keep you hydrated and tries to get you to eat a little bit

pulls you into his chest when you start getting worked up

holds you tightly when a really bad wave hits you

makes you look in his eyes and helps you control your breathing while he cradles your face in his hands

will talk to you about volleyball when you’ve talked through it to keep your mind off of it

tells you jokes that are actually good so you smile a little bit

kisses your forehead and tells you he loves you

supportive and encouraging in the most gentle way possible

Hinata

is a little confused because he’s just a ball of sunshine but listens to every word you say when you try to explain it to him so he can better support you

tries so hard to understand and does research on depression so he can help you through it as best he can

lays you down on the couch and puts your head in his lap and strokes your hair gently or caresses your cheek with his thumb

wipes away all your tears and pulls your hand up to his face to press little kisses to your knuckles

tells you that everything’s gonna be ok

tells you he loves you and that he will never leave you

keeps your favourite snacks and drinks next to him in case you feel hungry/thirsty

shows you pictures of dogs or cats or whatever your favourite animal is to try and take your mind off it

overall a little confused but he’s got the spirit

Kageyama

very understanding though he doesn’t know how to help you as much as he wishes he could

will do everything you ask him to

kinda just lets you lay on top of him or whatever you want to do

tentatively wraps his arms around you

always asking if what he’s doing is ok

wants to make you feel comfortable and safe

slowly rubs your back

listens to you very closely and nods his head to show that he is in fact listening

will gently kiss you wherever he can reach-your temples, your cheeks, your forehead, shoulder, just whatever he can get to

holds you hand and tells you to squeeze when your going through a bad wave

wipes your tears with his shirt or his sleeve

makes sure to tuck you and and give you all the pillows and plushies you need when he gets up to get you water

sits right outside the door if you need to use the restroom

envelopes you right back into his arms when you come back out and walks you back to the bed

i feel like he would sing to you and it would either be really gentle and soothing or kind of bad and make you laugh a little bit

doesn’t really know what to say to help you but does his best to articulate that he is there for you and cares about you so much

will do anything to see you smile again

Budget Cuts (pt.4-Final)

Summary of pt.3: y/n and tanaka are finally together and it is finally time for the tournament

so this is the final part, it’s a lot shorter than i meant it to be but i hope you like it anyways :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The amount of time it took till it was time to play was the amount of time it took to calm down Tanaka, and then it all went to shit when he saw that prick on the courts again. Only this time Daichi led him away before either of them could say something. I make sure to look him in the eye when I take off my jacket to reveal my team jersey, “And in case it’s not clear, this jersey is my own, not my boyfriend’s.” His team snickers and push him around as I turn and join mine on the other side of the court.

“KARASUNOOOO! FIGHT”

Time Skip

One last time my hand makes contact with the ball and it slams into the ground on the other side of the net. The whistle blows and we win the game. I look to Tanaka and run into his arms and hold with all my remaining strength, “I’m so proud of you baby,” he says, kissing my forehead. I then find myself on the floor beneath a pile of sweat boys all yelling and cheering. I don't even care, too happy I guess.

Eventually we calm down enough to thank the other team for the game, then we bow to the crowd, “Thank you for coming to the game!”

On our way out I notice the same guy from earlier, looking particularly sad, and smile from the comfort of my boyfriend’s arm, surrounded by my favorite people, ecstatic from our win. We make it onto the bus and collapse into our seats, exhaustion finally hitting. I fall asleep perfectly content on Tanaka’s shoulder, his head resting on my own.

Budget Cuts (pt.3)

summary of pt2:y/n joins the team and practice goes well, but she runs into tanaka again lol and suddenly it’s almost game time

currently working on pt3, should hopefully be out pretty soon :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Stepping back and ducking my head in a bow I scramble, “I’m so sorry, I really need to pay attention to where I’m going-” He laughs, “It’s ok Y/n, I don’t mind.” The heck does he mean ‘he doesn't mind’??

“Actually I was looking for you. I was gonna ask if I could walk you home?” fkskdfjs of course you can walk me home. “That’d be great, thanks,” I reply a little too quickly, but he just smiles and takes my hand. fsgdksjgjhgksjdfsgjs I turn my head in hopes of hiding my now rosy cheeks, “So uh Y/n, you did really great today. I think we all were uh really impressed wi-with you. That spike of yours is really great,” he stutters a bit. I look up at him, but it’s hard to see his face in the moonlight. Dangit stupid moonlight, I cant see shit. “Thanks, I uh, I was actually kinda nervous about today if I’m being honest,” I admit.

He stops, “Really? You’re so awesome, why the hell would you be nervous?” I respond quietly, “I uh, I didn’t think I was gonna be able to keep up with you guys…” He’s silent for a moment, I decide to look up at him, “Why would you ever think that?! Why do you think I can’t keep my eyes off of you when you’re on that court?! Why do you think I was always so excited for practice matches with the girls’ team?! Why do you think I’m so damn in love with you?! You are so much better than some of the guys we’ve played Y/n! You are one of the best volleyball players I’ve ever seen and you’re so smart and pretty and just amazing,” he shouts, his hands now in the air and his bag fallen on the ground.

My eyes wide and my face red, I manage to whisper, “You- you love me Tanaka?” He stops, his face red enough now that I can see it without light, “Well- yeah I- I do.”

“I love you too.”

Time Skip

It’s been a month now since I joined the team, I’ve gotten so much stronger alongside the team and I’ve grown so much closer to these crackheads. My first tournament with them starts this Friday, I’m nervous but-

“Y/n! Get over here I need you to show me how you do that quick attack with Suga,” Tanaka shouts to me. I laugh, I love him so much, “Yeah ok, be right there!” I catch the ball he tosses to me and jog over, “ok so what you do is…..”

Time Skip

The first thing I see when I step off the bus? Lots and lots of big scary teams, and I am reminded why I was so nervous to join in the first place. Why are they so big, what the heck do their parents feed them???

Tanaka throws his arm around my shoulders and kisses my head, “Ready to go kick their asses?” Ever the romantic, he always knows just what to say. “You bet-”

Some jerk saunters up to me, stands much too close and says, “Hey ponytail, they let you ride the bus with your big brother? Well isn’t that cute, but I bet I’ve got something even better you could-,” poor guy doesn’t even get to finish before Tanaka has him on the ground with one fist wrapped in his shirt and the other ready to bash his head in, “You wanna finish that sentence shitty city boy, you say it to my face. No one talks to my girlfriend like that.”

Daichi quickly steps off the bus and pulls Tanaka away from him, bowing for the two of them in apology, I’m almost a little hurt he’s even bothering to apologize to this guy but he lifts his head back up, looks the guy right in the eye, “No one talks to our girl like that.” He scoffs but his face has gone pale, “Yeah well, just wait till we see each other on the court, then we’ll see who's girl she is,” and turns away, rejoining his team. This man must really think I’m just here for support or some shit. Can’t wait to see his face when he realizes he’s wrong.

Budget Cuts (pt2)

Summary of pt1: basically what happened in part one is the Karasuno girls volleyball team got cut and y/n refuses to accept that

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Walking down the hall to my class I run into Tanaka. “Oh Y/n! Sorry ‘bout that. You ok?” He takes a step back, cheeks a little pink. He’s probably just embarrassed. That’s all...right?

I nod my head, “Yeah I’m good, a little flustered at the moment but other than that, good. Great, actually,” He laughs a bit before nodding his head, “Yeah I would be too.” My eyes widen, “What do you mean?” He gestures to the door I just slammed, “Well I assume you weren’t in there to talk about your grades.”

What the hell does he think I was doing in there?!

“I was just telling him what I thought about the whole budget cut thing.” He motions for me to continue, “And? What’d he say?”

~Flashback~

“Well I- it’s just- why I can't- you see-”, sputtering as he tries to come up with some other misogynistic excuse as I stare at him expectantly. Finally he settles, “Alright, you can try out for the boys’ team. But if you get hurt you had better not come running to me with some fancy lawsuit!” Grinning from ear to ear now, I hold out my hand, “It’s a deal.” Reluctantly he shakes my hand and I turn on my heel and walk out of his office, leaving him behind in his stunned silence of sexism and slam the door on my way out.

~End flashback~

“He’s letting me join the guys’ team,” I tell him, beaming. He laughs and picks me up, swinging me around. My whole face flushes at the feeling of his arms wrapped so tightly around me. Quickly he puts me down and when he does I can see that his face is just about as red as mine. Raising his hand behind his head, “That uh- that’s great, Y/n. I’m really happy for you,” he says, stuttering a bit. Unfortunately the bell rings, ruining a perfectly good moment, I thank him and head off to class, face still hot from the interaction.

Time Skip

I take a deep breath and I step into the gym. The pre-practice chatter falls silent and instantly my face heats up. My eyes meet with Tanaka’s again and he smiles at me. I smile back just as Mr.Takeda suddenly steps in behind me, “Sorry I’m late! I got held up in a parent-teacher conference. Y/n, glad you could make it! Guys, as of today Miss Y/n will be part of your team,” he finishes with an enthusiastic smile.

In the pause that follows my thoughts start to spiral. Oh my gosh what if they don’t want a girl on the team? What if I’m not good enough? What if I can’t keep up with them? Jeez they’re gonna hate me. I’m definitely not good enough to play on their team. Who do I think I am-

Finally Daichi breaks the silence, “We’re happy to have you!” He motions the guys over, “Welcome to the team,” he says bowing, the rest of them following suit. I do the same, “Thank you for having me. I promise I’ll work hard not to drag the team down!”

Standing back up I hear Tanaka mumble, “You don’t even need to.” My face goes red again and practice starts up. He probably just thinks I won’t even be able to play long enough to do that.

Time Skip

By the end of practice I am covered in sweat and my whole body feels like it’s full of lead, but I feel much better about being on the team. Maybe it won’t be so bad. I smile to myself as I help clean up when someone calls my name. I look up and see Daichi waving me over to where he and Asahi are standing. I swallow and run over there. Jeez, did I already mess this up?

“I just wanted to tell you that you did really good today. I’m really looking forward to playing with you,” he says, a warm smile on his face. I let out a breath, “Thanks, me too. I can’t wait to see you guys play from the court instead of the stands.” He laughs and pats my shoulder before walking away. As he goes he turns over his shoulder and says, “You’ll definitely be on the court Y/n.” Smiling, I wave as he leaves for the day. What the heck does that mean?

On my way out I run into Tanaka. Again. I’ve gotta stop doing this.

Budget Cuts (pt.1)

summary: the girls Karasuno volleyball team gets cut due to lack of funding/support and main character y/n decides she should be able to try out for the boys' team

Disclaimer: pt1 is definitely just context and background i guess, you could probably skip this part and be fine but oh well. Anyways please enjoy lol

Y/N POV:

“-and so it is regretfully that we inform you that your team is one of the few being cut,” read the captain's voice. The team immediately breaks into shouts of complaint and anger. I took it in silently; our team was being cut because of budget cuts, or so the letter said. We were all aware, however, of the gap in skill between our team and the guys’. That certainly didn’t help. I felt my world crashing around me. What the hell else am I supposed to do?

“Guys!” Michimiya shouts to get the team’s attention, bringing me back to reality. Carefully our captain talks us all out of running to the principal’s office and beating him up and instead redirects the energy to the last practice match. She brings in the guys team and immediately I notice the guys’ lack of enthusiasm that they normally have when we play against each other. It seems they already know about the cut.

I scan over their faces and stop when my eyes reach Tanaka. It’s weird to see someone normally so energetic and maybe a little too excited when our teams hold practice matches together. His eyes suddenly meet mine and I look away before he can say anything. He wouldn’t really care to say something to me anyways, he’s too obsessed with Kiyoko. I don’t blame him though; God is a woman and that woman is Kiyoko Shimizu.

Afterward, the guys leave and Michimiya calls us together one last time. “We can still be friends and hang out, you know. Just because we can’t play volleyball anymore doesn’t mean we can’t still support each other. So I want us all to stay in touch, and hopefully, we can all move on, I guess.”

Unacceptable.

Time Skip

My alarm goes off unnecessarily, I never even fell asleep. Too angry I guess. I throw on my uniform and march out the door. I go straight to school and when I’m there I go straight to the principal’s office.

“This is bull,” I said, slamming the letter onto his desk. He looks up at me, “I beg your pardon?” Sliding the letter to him I explain, “My team, you cut it; and you won’t let us try out for the guys' team. It’s bull.” He sighs and I can already feel the long-winded, misogynistic spiel winding up.

“Well young lady, the money for two volleyball teams simply isn’t in the budget. Not to mention the fact that the young men on that team work much harder and successfully prove it more so than your little girls' team. It makes perfectly good sense to cut the girls' volleyball team. It was simply the right decision.

“And you girls wouldn’t last more than two minutes on the same team as those boys. They would simply overpower you at every turn and we can’t have you girls getting injured every practice and every game. There’s no logic in letting you girls try out for their team, it would be an embarrassment,” he finishes with a swift nod, seemingly satisfied with his answer.

“That’s ridiculous. Just because they win more than we do does not justify cutting the whole team. And if I am willing to work however much harder I need to in order to keep playing volleyball why shouldn’t I be allowed to,” I demand of him.

“Well because-” “No,” I interrupt, “there is no answer that is not any less sexist as your last monologue. And if there’s not enough money in the budget for two volleyball teams, then there certainly isn’t enough to pay off a lawsuit because that is exactly what you will receive if I, or any other of my teammates, are kept from trying out for the guys' volleyball team. I hope your logic is sound enough to see that.”

like little daily reminders

like when he sees you in the hallway he’ll complement something different everyday

u always make each other laugh

he knows how to cheer you up whenever you’re feelin down
