Forecasting the Weather 2: Clouds
Hello lighthouse keepers, sailors, fishermen, and even pirates! I recently made a post about predicting the weather while at sea. I mentioned in the post that clouds can also help predict the weather, but didn’t include them for brevity, but I did say I’d make that post another day. Well, today is that day! Consider this your guide for using clouds to anticipate the storms before they happen. (Pictures correlate with the word above them)
Fair Weather Clouds
Cirrus (see-ruhs) clouds are thin and wispy due to the wind blowing them around the sky. They look like this:
Cirrocumulus (see-ruh-kyoo-myuh-luhs) clouds are thin, patchy, and generally rippled or poofy. They generally come out in the winter. They look like this:
Altocumulus (al-tow-kyoo-myuh-luhs) clouds are rippled, fluffy and layered, the layers ranging from white to greyish. They look like this:
Cumulus (kyoo-myuh-luhs) clouds are what you think of when you think of clouds. They’re big, puffy, and come in lots of different shapes.
Stratus (stra-tus) clouds are thin and sheet-like, and always white and will generally cover most if not all of the sky.
Stratocumulus (stra-tow-kyoo-myuh-luhs) congregate in honeycomb-esque shapes, and they are patchy white or gray in color. Though these are fair weather clouds, they can indicate a storm is on its way.
Rain Clouds
Cirrostratus (see-row-stra-tuhs, sur-row-stra-tuhs) clouds also cover the sky, and can cause the halo-ing effect that was mentioned in part 1 of this post. Rain is probable within the next day.
Altostratus (al-tow-stra-tuhs) clouds are grey, cover the sky, and mean continuous rain.
Nimbostratus (nim-bow-stra-tuhs) clouds are big, puffy, gray, and thick. They’re often so thick they can obscure the sun. These also indicate continuous rain.
Cumulonimbus (Kyoo-myu-low-nim-bus) clouds are high, towered, puffy and white. They indicate upcoming thunderstorms and are generally accompanied by other cumulus clouds.

Since y’all Stranger Things/IT stans are so damn PRESSED about every damn thing I’m going to throw out my two cents and wait for shit to hit the fan
I saw a post (one of many) ranting about how if they don’t make Will gay it will be the biggest queerbait ever. Okay, L I S T E N you know what would be super great for once? A character being allowed to not have a love interest. Will missed out on a chunk of his childhood because he was seriously traumatized. So he doesn’t like girls now, that isn’t to say he won’t like them later (although I think that’s unlikely). Does he like boys?? All I know is he doesn’t seem concerned with romance at all. In fact, if y’all were paying attention, he seems to be tired of all the lovey-doveyness around him.

Y’all want to talk about being progressive in media but you also want to push a character with aromantic/asexual behavior into being gay

I am half black and half white
I just want to real talk for a minute about the N-word. If you are not black (that means ANY and ALL other races), you are NOT permitted to say, lip sync, or joke about the n-word (this includes the form "n**ga"). It is DISRESPECTFUL. It is DISGUSTING. You need to research the history of that word, and find out just how awful it truly is. Quite frankly I'm uncomfortable when black people use the word, but that's just me. ANOTHER THING! If you think that the n-word is as bad as saying retarded, slut, or whore, you are just STUPID. "Retard" is an legitimate medical term regarding brain disease and development that was turned into an insult for people who are not actually retarded (guess what, back in the day, so was the word "idiot"). "Slut" and "whore" are negative descriptions of a person based on their sexual activity. While these words are hurtful, 1) They are not swears (don't make a bigger deal out of something than there needs to be), 2) There are actual times when these words are permitted to be used, and 3) They do not have the same impact or hurt behind them as the n-word The n-word may be the WORST word of all time. I suggest that you truly educate yourself on the depth of African-American history in order to understand why this is such a serious topic.

Be respectful
The cast and crew of Voltron are NOT homophobic. Do not call them that because it is an exaggeration and it is immature. Yes, this season was disappointing as far as LGBTQ+ representation goes, but the show has never been about shipping, gay representation, or romance. The cast and crew are not completely innocent because they did hype us up and let us down, but shipping was never the focal point of this show in the first place and they don't owe you anything. I am personally a Klance shipper, and I have come to terms with the fact that it is an unlikely ship to happen. I also know that I must remain open to new possibilities, even if I don't like them. I still enjoyed most of this season and I will support the show because that's how a fan of something should behave. Was this season queerbaiting? I believe it was, (maybe it was unintentional, maybe not) but I'm not going to throw a fit and insult the people that have given us a fantastic story.

Voltron season 7 feelings
!!!Pros!!! 1)Keith is so mature and sweet. 2)Hunk arc. 3)Alien lesbians. 4)Acxa's hair. 5)THE GAME SHOW EPISODE. 6)Hunk and Keith hug. 7)Keith and Krolia melted my heart. 8)Family reunions. 9)The Holts kicking ass the entire time 10)Romelle is so lovely. 11)Stranded in open space arc. 12)Shiro's a babe. 13)That moment when you thought they were dead. 14)Shay. 15)Very anime-ish. 16)Gorgeous animation. 17) Broganes 18)Veronica. 19)Hunk flashbacks. 20) Everyone's favorite bitch James Griffin (((Cons))) 1)Too many giant robots (Voltron doesn't really feel special anymore). 2)Allura's weird only-used-when-it's-convenient-for-the-plot magic that never gets explained. 3)What they did with Adam was disappointing. 4)It felt repetitive and a little boring towards the end. 5)Sendak is a downgrade from Zarkon and Lotor. 6)Weird KeithxAcxa romance (just no). 7)Allura liking Lance back doesn't make any sense. 8)Toying with Klance and Plance. 9)Unnecessary robo fight to establish a plot point. (I personally enjoyed this season a whole quiznacking lot but there were definitely some let downs. Just remember not to kill each other over disagreements y'all.)
