Tomura could only watch as his mind was stolen, watch his body being overtaken by a force he wasn’t strong enough to stop. All for One’s control taking over. He knew he had seconds left before he’d no longer cease to be himself. You burned with hatred beneath him, your left arm broken and useless, your right hand holding some sharp shrapnel that you’d plunged desperately into his side, your powers flickering weakly within you. He didn’t feel the pain. Your eyes flashed, his hands around your neck, squeezing. Someone was going to win here but… it wasn’t going to be him.
He pulled you hard, the fire in your eyes licking and burning his own but he couldn’t care less. If he was going to die he was going to make one last grave mistake that might send him to the grave earlier than expected. He leaned down where you were pinned beneath him and with impressive force, smashed his lips against your own.
The kiss was like a fight. Like all your other fights. But lips instead of fists. With breaths instead of words. With groans instead of screams and growls. His hands gripped your face hard to keep you where he wanted you. You, in a fit of confusion and pure survival instinct twisted the shrapnel in his side. He gasped in pain but that only spurred him on, his mouth cracking yours open in a feverish attempt to be as close as humanly possible. He had no indication whether or not you wanted this until the pain ceased and he felt your tongue brush against his. His breathing hitched, muddled with pain and sorrow and complete obsession. He pulled you off the ground roughly and kissed you until you both were gasping for air. When he pulled back the state he left you in was enough to satisfy him for years. Your lips were kissed pink and wet, your cheeks had a wicked blush across them as you stared at him with utter bewilderment and something else that had his stomach tangling in knots within him.
He resigned himself to death then. He was guilty as sin.
Your hand was still on the hilt of your shrapnel that was embedded in his side as you stared at each other. Breaths heavy. Tomura didn’t know how to be kind. He didn’t know how to be soft. He’d never kissed anyone before and it should’ve been pretty damn suspicious when the first person he’d ever felt the need to devour with his lips was the one standing opposite of him in this endless war. The one he needed to destroy. And to say he wanted to devour you was almost an understatement. He wanted to climb into your body and live in your ribcage, safe and tucked away. He wanted to be inside you, wanted that mind of yours to only know him, wanted those pink lips to only speak his name, those pretty eyes to only meet his. The obsession was endless. He wanted it more than ever right now. Death knocking down his rotted door. So bad that he hadn’t even noticed his own tears before they fell and hit your cheeks. You blinked a few times, slowly coming back down from the clouds. Tomura reached for you a last time, the pad of his thumb swiping his tears off your cheek.
“Save me, hero.” He breathed out before everything went black.

“Again!” He called as you huffed. Aizawa was a relentless teacher. You felt your powers flicker inside your veins as you tried to control them, to harness them and use them the way they were meant to be used. But dammit, you were tired. You two had been at this for hours. You weren’t some kid he could push around and it was then, with exhaustion mingling with annoyance you shook your head defiantly. Throwing your hands down.
“I’m done!” You growled at him, tossing aside your practice weapon. Aizawa straightened.
“We’re just getting started, hero.” He mocked as you stared at him with venom. He knew all about your inherited quirk, knew there wasn’t much time for you to harness it and so he’d been pushing you to the edge for months to train you.
“Don’t call me that.”
“What should I call you then? Fraud?” He asked and that fire that you wanted to extinguish flickered in seconds, catching your inside on fire.
“I’ll kill you!” You growled. You didn’t need that useless weapon. You outstretched your arm and black whip shot out like an extension of your grip, it wrapped around Aizawa in milliseconds as you yanked him towards you. You knew he’d use erasure and you were looking forward to it. The moment he used it it didn’t stop his moment as black whip dissolved around him, your powers canceled out only for his face to meet your fist. You hit him hard enough to rattle the brain in his skull. He hit the ground even harder and for a moment your heart leaped. He’d always said you were quick to fly off the handle and you’d just proved him right. Your hand ached, your knuckles busted. Aizawa groaned from the ground, pushing up on his forearms. You breathed out a relieved breath, thinking you had maybe killed him with that fuckery of a move.
“That was smart.” He sighed, his upper cheek already had a bruise forming. “Why don’t you give me this energy during practice instead of making me get you angry?” He asks as you look at him hard.
“We’ve been at it for hours.” You growled angrily. “I’m tired.”
“And you don’t think I am too?” He pushed to his feet, giving you a hard look, his dark hair falling in his face. “You are a brat. You are stronger than any quirk user yet you don’t care enough to really harness those powers. You asked for this.”
“I know!” You burst out, turning pointedly away from him, dreaming of your bed, dreaming of a night without nightmares of all for one stealing your power and killing the world. You weren’t a kid but you were still young, young enough that this burden on your shoulders was crushing you.
“You can’t run from this.” Aizawa said but he didn’t sound angry. You still didn’t turn to face him. “You think you’re all alone?”
“Of course I’m alone! It’s just like you said, I’m the strongest.”
“Everyone needs a hand. Even All-Might.” Aizawa said. You turned on him, eyes sharp.
“All-Might defeated All for one on his own. There’s not a soul that could stand beside me and not be killed.”
“I’ve stood beside you this whole time. I’ve trained you. You think I’ll just let you go at it alone after everything we’ve been through?” Aizawa asked as the look in your eyes hardened.
“I won’t let you.” You said in a low, intimidating voice. Aizawa’s lips parted slightly. “All for one will not get a shot at you. I’ll die before that happens.”
“You’re stubborn but not as stubborn as me.” Aizawa returns, taking a step towards you. “I’m with you till the end.”
“Did you not hear a word I-” Aizawa leaned into your space, hand sliding over your cheek as his lips cut off your sentence. You almost pulled back but he stepped closer to you, one hand on your face the other sliding around you and resting on the dip of your back. You pushed him back forcefully, your breath shaky as you stared at him.
“Forgive me… I-” You grabbed him roughly by his shirt, slamming your lips against his. He grunted against your lips in surprise, hands barely ghosting over your hips. You kissed him unforgivingly hard. This was a sort of ultimate payback in a small way, of all the hours he overworked you. You pushed him back on the training mat and slid atop him. This was a form of practice, right? A workout that wouldn’t exhaust you… or would it? If he thought for a moment you’d let him help you now he was sorely mistaken. But on the other side of the coin, if you thought for a moment he wouldn’t die for you, you were sorely mistaken as well. Rock meets hard place.

“Idiot.” You growled beside his hospital bed. Hawks looked peaceful and you wanted nothing more than to shake him awake and smack some sense into him. But he was still healing so your assault of slaps and punches would have to wait. You huffed. Leaning back in your chair, flipping through the channels on the tv. It wasn’t long before your mind wandered to the same thing you’d been thinking about for days.
Hawks almost dying for you. Hawks pushing you aside before you were impaled with Shigaraki’s power. Having to watch Hawks get impaled, having his eyes meet yours and a stupid soft and beautiful smile on his face as he mumbled something you didn’t even get to hear. You tried remembering again, tried focusing on his lips in your memories but it was of no use. You huffed, unable to relax as you turned back to look at him. The number two hero. You stare at him, your eyes drifting to those lips. You willed him to say those words again and when his eyes opened you didn’t even notice.
“Watching me sleep? How romantic.” He said, his voice gruff from being unused for days. You jumped at not only the sound of his voice but being caught staring at his lips.
“I wasn’t. I was trying to kill you with my mind.” You grumbled protectively, eyes snapping up to meet him. The way he looked at you was the most dangerous thing you’d see in a while. The pure adoration in his eyes, the smile that formed on his lips at your joke. It twisted at your insides.
“Are you alright?” He asked because the last thing he remembered in the fight was you hurt and in trouble. You tensed.
“You're the one in a hospital bed.” You growled. Hawks seemed to just notice this fact, he was utterly distracted by the fact that you’d been sitting at his bedside. He reached for your hand but you pulled away and stood to your feet.
“Y/n-”
“I told you not to get involved.” You growled. “I had it under control but you had to go and try to play the hero.”
“I am a hero.” Hawks said, something in his eyes that angered you more.
“Not to me. I don’t need your sacrifice. If you wanna get yourself killed, do it for someone else.” You hissed. He looked at you. You hoped your venomous words would have some effect on him. You wanted him to be angry. Wanted him to hate you. To look at you with harsh eyes but his expression didn’t change.
“Such venom.” He said with a smirk. If you didn’t have some modicum of control over your powers and anger this whole hospital would’ve been brought down. “Are you trying to push me away again?”
“What?” You huffed.
“You heard me, number one. I know what you’re doing but it’s not gonna work.”
“And what am I doing?”
“What you do to everybody you start to care about. You lash out at them so they’re not tempted to stay by your side when things go sideways.”
“I-- I don’t do that.”
“You’re a terrible liar.” Hawks admonished with a shake of his head. You take in a deep breath, tensing your jaw. “Growl all you want, I’m not getting scared away.”
“You’re crazy. You almost died, this isn’t some fucking joke.”
“I knew I’d be fine. Knew you’d carry me off the battlefield.” He croons, you stare at him hard.
“How could you have known?”
“I’m an optimistic guy.” He smiles. You roll your eyes, turning to leave. He catches your wrist just as you reach for the handle.
“What-? You need to stay in bed, idiot.” You growl as Hawks holds your wrist gently in one hand, the other on his bandaged torso.
“I’ll get back in bed if you stay.”
“Are you serious?” You growl as he nods his head.
“Deadly serious.”
“You’re a child.” You sigh.
“Stay. Don’t run away from me.” He says and the seriousness in his voice has your stomach flipping. You pull out of his touch.
“Get in bed.” You direct and his eyes look down into yours, a challenge.
“Make me.” He says. Your eye twitches as you waste zero time pushing this idiot back towards his bed. Once the backs of his knees hit the mattress he pulls a move on you and you’re pulled on top of him. You two tumble onto the hospital bed. Your heart lurches dangerously into your throat, feeling the warmth of his hands ghosting your hips.
“What the hell is wrong with you?”
“Hush.” He says, hands sliding up to either side of your face as he pulls you down so that your lips meet. The shock of his cold lips against yours was like a rush to your system. An overloading and overheating shock. You gasped at the ache of want that tore through you. That had always been lurking beneath every tense moment with Hawks. Him training you. You two on missions. Reluctant breakfast, lunch, and dinners with him. He wormed his way into your heart and you hated it. Anyone close to you was surely going to be killed and that dangerous hope in your chest that built when he was around should’ve raised flags for you. But you let him in. You selfish creature. You pushed him back, and moved shakily to your feet. Hawks reached for you again and you caught his wrist, twisting it. He flinched in pain, staring at you with confusion and hurt.
“Don’t touch me again.” You growled. You needed space from him, your head swimming, your eyes traitorously drifting to the lips that had just been against yours.
“What's wrong?” Hawks asked. You stepped back, narrowing your eyes.
“You never listen. You-- you’re always trying to confuse me and sneak your way into my-- you need to leave me alone.”
“No.”
“N-No?” You asked as Hawks barely raised his brows, nodding his head. His blond hair falling against his forehead. He looked so annoyingly beautiful you wanted to hit him.
“I don’t just sacrifice my life for anybody.” He says as he stands, wincing in pain.
“Just stay in the damn bed-” He pulled you to him, inches taller than you, eyes unwaveringly serious as he spoke his next sentence.
“I love you.” He said and the words had your eyes widening, a soft gasp escaping your lips. He clearly loved that he caught you off guard. “You don’t have to say it back. I just wanted you to know what I said.”
“What you said?” You echo, unable to properly digest this moment.
“When I saved you. I said I loved you.” The words his lips spoke that you’d been driven up a wall trying to remember. If he died you would’ve never known.
“I hate you.”
“Close enough.” He grins, leaning and pressing his lips gently to yours. You didn’t push him off, you didn’t have the strength, something selfish was taking over and you didn’t have the will power to fight it. You’d played it safe for years. Not letting anyone get close. But… you failed. You kissed Hawks back with twice the passion, pushing him back on the bed, caging him beneath you. If he was going to love you you were going to let him. Damned selfishness…

--------------------------------------------------------
You’d been looking to cause trouble. A lot of things led you to this very moment and to say you were ashamed was just plain wrong. You liked the trouble. You liked making people nervous, you liked that power you could hold over someone's head. After going so long without any power of your own it was nice to finally make someone else feel weak once in a while. No it wasn’t healthy and no you didn’t care. Because it felt good. It felt good to terrorize people. To hear their pleads of mercy.
You never went after actually innocent people. You hunted devils. And you killed a lot of devils that disguised themselves as humans. The news called you the Night killer, they called you a serial murderer. It wasn’t fair… they didn’t know the true personality of the people you ended. Night was the easiest for you to move around in without being detected. You had things to do in the daylight, boring day to day things. But when the night set it was time to let loose a bit.
You had to be a bit more careful recently though. Some celebrity hero had been patrolling the streets recently. Doing good and all. You knew he was looking for you. And you weren’t sure how well you’d fare against chainsaws.
It was your birthday weekend so your friends decided to take you out. It was some popular club downtown that you all ended up at after dinner. Sweaty bodies and strobing lights you knew only terrible things could come out of unattended drinks and loud music so you kept an eye on all your friends. That’s when you saw him, some guy with a predatory look in his eyes as he stared down your friend. You could tell his intentions right away. You had a knack for it. You could also tell he’d been just the one you were hunting for. The devil that had killed a woman just last week. You’d watch him for a bit and sure enough, after touching and getting slapped away by multiple women, he walked and chatted up your friend for a bit before slipping away to buy her a drink. You watched him non stealthily slip something into it, a grin spreading across his lips, an even bigger one spreading across yours. He really thought he could get away from destiny? You didn’t think this night could get any better but here was a perfect excuse to spill blood on your birthday. You downed your drink and slinked your way through the crowd and when he turned to make his way back to your friend you purposefully bumped into him, spilling the drink all over the front of his tacky white and gold shirt.
“Oh… shit, I’m so sorry!” You faked an apologetic look and scrambled for some napkins and pressed it to his wet chest.
“Come on-- watch where you're-” The moment he saw you it was like lights filled his eyes. His eyes widened as he looked from your eyes to your cleavage than back up. “No… excuse me, pretty lady.” You giggled, biting your lip as you looked up at him.
“Can I buy you another drink?” You asked innocently, keeping your hands against his chest.
“Don’t you worry about that, dear.” He crooned and it took everything in you not to cringe. Instead you pushed closer to him, talking into his ear so he could hear you over the loud music. “You sure, baby?” You ask, a rasp sliding into your voice. The man nodded his head, his hand sliding against your waist.
“Wanna dance?” He asks, his lips grazing the shell of your ear. You shiver in disgust but he doesn’t see it that way.
“Lead the way.” You say and he sure does, his hand sliding just above your ass as he pulls you on the dance floor, turning you around so he can press himself against your behind. The dance was fueling the fire. You couldn’t wait to lure him outside. You wondered how many girls he’d drugged, wondered how many girls he’d touched without permission. The way he touched you now was telling you everything you needed to know, this man took what he wanted.
And so would you.
After all you could handle of this man, you pushed him back a bit.
“Wanna get some air?” You asked and he agreed almost instantly. He slid his arms around your waist and hips as you led the way out of the club. There were a few people loitering outside so you led him to the side alleyway. The moment you two were alone he grabbed you rather forcefully and pushed you against the wall, he leaned in to kiss you but your hand shot up and you grabbed him tightly by the chin. He froze, a look forming in his eyes. He was enjoying this.
“Eager one, aren’t you?” You rasped, he nodded his head, trying to lean forwards but unable to, his eyes growing slightly wide.
“You’re strong for a woman.” He says and a devilish smirk grows on your pink lips as you slowly nod your head. You slowly tighten your hold on his chin and watch as his lips part in surprise. “I want to fuck you so bad.” He whispers, obviously liking your rough treatment.
“How would you do that?’ You asked, your free hand sliding to the knife concealed on your thigh. A trusty weapon you acquired after some idiot tried to mug you on your way home from work. It was a trophy you liked to use on your victims.
“I’d yank that little skirt up, rip those tights open and take you right here.” He growled, disgusted chills ran down your spine but your face was as cool as ever. It wasn’t the worst thing you’d ever heard but it was up there.
“Mhm…” You hummed. “Let me see what you’d take me with.” You whispered and the excitement that man felt was on full display as his hands flew to unzip his pants. You waited patiently and the moment you spotted it the smile that fitted to your lips was downright evil. “Small.” You remarked seconds before that trophy knife of yours sliced his member clean off. There was a split second where it didn’t register with him. He inhaled and then his eyes went wide as pain finally made its way to his brain. When he opened his mouth to scream you clamped over his lips hard with your hand and spun him to press him forcefully against the wall. You wiped the blood from your knife on his shirt and pressed it against his neck.
“Mhm wha tha fu,” He grumbled beneath your fingers.
“What? It’s okay for you to take what you want? To spike women's drinks and touch them without consent? To kill them? I thought you’d probably like being treated the way you treat others.” You growl. He tried to squirm away from you but you were too strong. You held him against that wall like he weighed nothing and the fear that formed in his eyes at the revelation was delicious.
“Plea-- please.” He pleaded and the sound was like music to your ears.
“No sense in pleading.” You growled.
“That’s enough.” The voice to your right halted your thoughts. You turned just slightly to see the celebrity himself. Chainsaw Man.
Fuuuccckkk.
“Let ‘em go.” He directed. Your mouth dried, your knife sweaty in your hands. But you didn’t move back.
“You caught me.” You rasped, it was dark so you knew, unless Chainsaw Man had night vision, that he couldn’t see you very well. He paused at the sound of your voice, slightly tilting his head to try and get a good look at you but they didn’t call you Night Killer for no reason, the night was being very friendly to you right now.
“You sound… hot.” Chainsaw Man said. Everything halted for a moment. You stared at him quizzically. He’d caught you off guard with that. Even the scumbag beneath your blade seemed surprised before he started squirming again and you had to press your blade harder. “I’ve been tailing your kills for months now… Are you-- blonde? It’s hard to tell.”
“You’ll be tailing another kill if you don’t keep it in your pants,” You growled. “Aren’t you supposed to be a hero?”
“I am a hero. But I’m also a man who has great taste. Now let that man go and step into the light.” Chainsaw Man directed. Something about him made you laugh. This terrifying looking devil had layers. Chainsaw Man cocked his head at your laughter.
“And what would you do if I slit this piece of shit devil's throat?” You ask and the man you pinned squirmed and whimpered pathetically. Chainsaw Man stepped closer, trying hard to get a look at you. One track mind it seemed.
“What’d he do?” He asks. It gives you pause.
“You care?”
“Did he try to hurt you? I’ve noticed most of your victims all had charges placed against them for hurting women. Is he just like the others?” Chainsaw Man asked. You wondered if he actually cared or if he was biding time for the police.
“Uh huh.” You answered, trailing your attention back to the dirt bag. You trailed your knife up his neck to the side of his face. “He touches who he wants and slips things into drinks. Naughty…” You tease, the anger inside you coming out as though it meant nothing. You heard Chainsaw Man walk closer and you shot him a warning look. “Any closer and I’ll spill his blood.”
“Do it.” You hear the hero say. “Kill him. He deserves it.” You stare at him, lips parted. He’d surprised you.
“What?” You asked before you were able to mask that surprise.
“Kill him.” Chainsaw Man shrugs. “I could do it if you want.”
“What kind of hero are you?”
“A hero to those who deserve saving. If this man did as you say then I’ll look the other way.” Chainsaw Man says. You were so shocked that your grip on the man loosened. The dirt bag, sensing your attention elsewhere, shoved hard against you. The hard shove sends your hand with the knife back towards you. He gives another shove and the blade plunged into you just above your chest below your shoulder blade. You land hard, dazed a bit. The dirt bag dives towards the knife, straddling you on the ground.
“You dumb slut!” He growls. “I’m gonna kill-” You heard the revving of chainsaws before you felt the warm splash of blood against your face. You watched in object horror as the man’s head slowly fell off his shoulders and tumbled to the pavement. The body above you slackened and fell to the side in a bloody heap. You wiped at the blood, trying to push away from the body but your shoulder screamed in pain. You’d forgotten the damn knife that had lodged itself in you. You hissed in pain as the Chainsaw’s slowly came to a stop and silence was restored. The commotion had gained the attention of bystanders outside the club as people started poking their heads at the other end of the alleyway.
“Can you walk?” Chainsaw Man asked but when you looked up you saw a regular man, blood on his white button up shirt. When you both saw each other in the dim light of the alleyway you both blushed. You furrowed your brow, momentarily forgetting the throbbing pain in your shoulder.
“Chainsaw Man?” You said, stunned. The man before you nodded his head, glancing down the alley towards the people. “Come on, we need to get you somewhere safe before they get a good look at us.” You let him wrap his arms around you and pull you to your feet, you’d hurt your leg when you fell so you relied on him heavily to take you somewhere safe.
“Is this okay?” He asked and for the first time in years you didn’t feel disgusted by a man’s touch. It was strange. You nodded your head.
“This way,” You directed once you go to a street you recognized. You led Chainsaw Man towards your house, his hand gently holding you against him. Once there you handed him your keys and he unlocked the door and helped you inside. You grunted in pain as he got you to a chair by the kitchen table. “There’s uh-- supplies in the top drawer… grab everything. And grab the jack from the fridge.” You direct. Chainsaw Man works quickly as you lean your head back, cursing yourself for letting your attention wander. You’d never gotten hurt this bad, just some scrapes and bruises. He was back rather quickly, falling to his knees beside you.
“How can I help?” He asks as you tilt up, reaching for the jack. You take a big swig of it taking a deep breath.
“Fuck me.” You sighed at the impending pain. You watched his face go through five different emotions before his cheeks blushed.
“What? Now?” He asks as you furrow your brow before realizing he thought you were giving him an order with those two little words you sighed. You laughed surprisingly, shaking your head.
“No, not what I meant.”
“Oh… yeah of course.” He blushes, turning away slightly.
“What’s your name?” You ask. He turns back to you, looking up at you from his knees.
“Denji.”
“Denji,” You say and watch his cheeks go even redder. “I need you to pull this knife out of my shoulder.” You say. His lips part in surprise as he blinks.
“No medicine to dull the pain?”
“I drank jack, no come on before I chicken out.” You say and Denji nods his head. You both lean towards each other and he reaches for the handle. Pain jolts through you at just a small bit of contact. Luckily for you it wasn’t super deep but it would still hurt like a bitch to remove. Denji looks up in your eyes.
“You sure?” He asks as you nod your head, taking another swig. He nods his head and a second later the blade is yanked from your shoulder. You cry out in pain as the blad clangs against the tilt flooring. Denji reaches for your shoulder, pressing his hand against the blood to stop it as he grabs a towel with his other. “It’s okay,” He says soothingly. “It’s out.” He presses the towel against the wound as you catch your breath.
“Thank you,” You breathe out, tears pricking the corner of your eyes. You share a moment before you know that the wound needs to be stitched. You walk Denji through the steps and he listens well and takes gentle care of stitching you up and wrapping the wound. Once it’s nice and secure you feel your breath slowly coming back to you. You offer Denji a drink as he’s washing his hands. He grabs two cups and sits beside you at the table. You pour two drinks and slide one over to him.
“I’ve been hunting you for a few months,” He starts, taking a sip before making a face as though he didn’t like it but then takes another sip. “You put yourself in danger a lot.”
“Someone has to.” You say, leaning back in your chair.
“You’re skilled, killing those devils can’t have been easy.” He says as you shrug.
“They don’t put up much of a fight if you trick them early on.” You say. Denji looks at you over his cup.
“What’s your name? I think you're a little too pretty for Night Killer.” You can’t help but smile at that.
“Am I now?” You ask, cocking your head slightly as Denji nods his head.
“You’re probably one of the prettiest girls I’ve ever seen.” He says truthfully. You find yourself blushing at his honesty.
“It’s Y/n.”
“Y/n…” He echoes, looking at you dreamily. “That’s better, a pretty name for a pretty girl.”
“Alright, Chainsaw Man, relax.” You jest, taking a sip of your drink. Denji grins at that.
“Can I take you out? Maybe after you’re feeling better?”
“What? Don’t like girls with scars?” You tease as Denji immediately shakes his head.
“I love scars. If you have any more I’d like to see them.” He implored, gaining another laugh from you.
“Such a flirt.” You wave off.
“I don’t want you to overexert yourself, that’s all.” He says as you nod your head.
“Why? Do you have something really physical planned?” You tease and watch his cheeks and ears go red.
“What? N-no!”
“I’m teasing you, Chainsaw Man.” You say.
“Denji,” He says.
“Hmm?”
“I-- I’d like it better if you called me Denji.” He says, barely able to look you in the eye. You’d never seen a man blush this much in your presence. It was adorable.
“Denji…” You say, leaning on your hand. His eyes widen just slightly and you can tell he really likes hearing his name from your lips.
“So… Can I take you out?”
“Why? You just met me?” You ask amused.
“So? I’d be a fool not to ask a pretty girl like you out.” He says and you laugh.
“I might be pretty but I kill devils for fun, aren’t you part devil?” You ask teasingly.
“I am… but I’m not like the ones you kill.”
“You’re not?”
“No. Those scumbags deserved what you gave them.”
“So why were you tracking me down?” You ask curiously.
“Well… If I’m being honest I… saw you on CCTV. Saw how you protected those women a few months ago. I also saw you were finding bigger devils and got worried that you might get hurt.”
“You were worried for me and you didn’t even know me?”
“I lost sleep. I was lucky to find you tonight.”
“You’re the reason I got stabbed, you know. That devil was weak.” You say, leaning back as Denji’s eyes widen.
“What? I-- I’m sorry, Y/n.” He implores as you laugh, shaking your head.
“It’s fine, Denji, I’m partly kidding.”
“But it was my fault… I distracted you.”
“It’s fine.” You smile warmly. He sees that smile and the drink in his hand slips from his grasp, spilling all over the table. He jumps up.
“Shit! Shit… sorry.” He runs to grab a rag and wipe it up. You watch him curiously. He’s nothing like what you expected Chainsaw Man to be like. He was sort of uncool but… not in a bad way. He was like a dork. It was endearing. It had you smiling in a way you forgot how to do. There was a reason you killed dirty devils for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. There was a time where you weren’t strong enough to defend yourself. That was the same day you had forgotten what it was like to let someone in. Yet here was Denji, who you’d met mere hours ago, worming his way into your iron shackled heart. Each lock he seemingly had the key too. It was slightly alarming but for some reason it wasn’t scaring you away.
“I’ll go out with you.” You say when Denji had just finished cleaning up only for the shock of your statement causing him to knock over the rest of his drink. You dissolve in a fit of giggles as Denji profusely apologizes, cleaning it all back up.
“You’re serious? You’ll go out with me?”
“Are you gonna spill anything if I say yes?” You tease as Denji sits the things in his hands down. You smile. “Then yes. I’d like to go out with you.” He can’t fight the smile that graces his lips. It’s like looking at the sun. “Come here,” You say. Denji is quick to be at your side as you grab a pen, clicking it. You gently grab his arm and write your number on his palm. “My number, I should be healed up within a few weeks.”
“Can I call you before… just to talk?” He asks and you blush at his innocence. He didn’t seem to want just the one thing most guys wanted.
“I’m a late sleeper and I get off work around five, you can call anytime after that.” You say and watch Denji’s face light up.
“Can you… promise me something?” Denji asked after a moment. You look up at him.
“Hmm?”
“Please let yourself heal. Don’t go devil hunting alone… in fact if you ever find someone you want to hurt please call me and I’ll be there.”
“You want to be my accomplice?” You joke but Denji’s face is dead serious. How could someone care this much in such little time? It almost seems too good to be true.
“I’ll kill for you. Anyone you want dead.” The absolute honesty and pure sincereness made your heart race. This man wore his heart on his sleeve.
“You mean it?”
“I am deadly serious.” He affirms. For a moment you just look at him, your eyes drinking in his soft features. He was quite handsome, a sort of boyish roundness of the face with mature eyes and lips you could tell might not have smiled a lot. But something about him was sad, like the profound loneliness in you had found that same loneliness in him. Like a reflection on yourself. You reached for him but your hand paused before you could touch him.
“Can I touch you?” You asked.
“Please.” He whispered almost inaudibly. You gently ran your fingers across his cheek, settling just below his jaw. His eyes drifted closed at your touch as he moved into your touch like he was starved of it and wanted as much as you’d give him. “Please,” he pleaded again, slowly falling to his knees in front of you.
“Please what?” You whispered, blushing from his reaction to your touch.
“Will you kiss me? Just once?” He whimpered softly. You swallowed, biting your lip to keep it from trembling. You’d do just that. Honestly if he asked you anything on his knees you might just give it to him. You slide your other hand against his cheek and gently tilt his face up by his chin. His eyes opened into yours and the intensity building between you two was thick in the air. You answered his question with the gentle press of your lips against his. He must’ve been extremely touch starved because the noises he made from just a simple kiss were downright filthy. He surged up slightly, wanting to be as close as possible. “May I-- touch you?” He whimpered against your lips.
“Yes.” You answered as his hands flew up to either side of your face, one hand slotting just below your jaw and the other sliding into your hair. The tension builds, the nervous excitement and eager kisses. The slow rise of heat within yours and his body. The quick, shallow breaths Denji was making. The way your and his hearts beat even faster now. Finally, the hesitation is gone, the urge to go through with it so great that it seems like a natural force acting upon Denji’s body itself. HIs hand slides around your hip as he pulls you off the chair and sits back, placing you on his lap like you weighed nothing. Your chests meeting, heartbeats sounding in unison. Your mouths finding each other, and lips coming together in a long, fulfilling kiss. The shyness is all completely and utterly gone. The heat within their bodies rises even further, breaths becoming more erratic. Lips separating for just a moment, just long enough to take a breath. Then they come back together, meeting just as passionately and lovingly. You’d never been kissed like this, never felt the weight of lips against yours that made your heart flutter like this. You felt like a teenager all over again. You couldn’t recall the last time you’d felt this way. It was dangerous and so so alluring. You’d forgotten about your stab wound up until you raised your other arm to tangle your hand in his hair and the pain was strong enough to pull you back to your senses. You inhaled sharply, a gasp of pain that had Denji pulling back, eyes full of concern.
“Y/n?” He mumbled as a question, lips kissed pink. “Are you okay?”
“My arm,” You said through searing pain. That seemed to bring him back to the present.
“Fuck, sorry!” He mumbled, hand flying up to check the bandage and make sure you hadn’t torn your stitches.
“It’s fine.” You breathe out. Denji reaches to tuck your hair away from your face.
“We should call it a night,” He says but you can tell it’s something he doesn’t really want but wants for you to heal. “I’ll call you tomorrow?” He asks. You’re still sitting in his lap, still wanting much more that he could give you but your arm was aching. You silently cursed that devil for stabbing you and sighed, nodding your head. Denji stands, taking you with him gently. You two are still so close and you almost just want to grab him and ask him not to go. You felt cold when you thought of Denji leaving but you knew you two would need space otherwise your arm would never heal.
“I’ll be waiting.” You smile up at him and he returns that smile.
“I-- I almost don’t want to leave.”
“I almost want you to stay.” You return. The gaping loneliness seemed to be reaching out between you both. But you had to be smart, you had to think rationally. You’d just met him hours ago… you barely knew him. In fact you didn’t know him at all. But… that really didn’t seem to matter because your hands had barely gripped Denji’s shirt, your body making a conscious decision before your mind could think better of it. “What if you stayed the night? Would that be so crazy?” You’d had one night stands before… it wasn’t crazy…
“I’ll stay with you.” He says. You don’t let your mind talk you out of it, you just gently pull him towards your bedroom. You have no thoughts of furthering your prior make out sesh… you’d rather just sleep with him beside you. You gave Denji some clothes to change into and he helped you change into something comfortable. Once you got into bed, Denji following you inched close to him under the covers. Craving the warmth he provided. You’d never known how cold you were until this very moment. Denji turned to face you and in the dark you saw him flush red. “Can I hold you?” He asked and you didn’t even bother speaking because you were moving closer the moment he ended his sentence as his arms slotted around your hips, your face pressing against his chest. In his arms you felt more safe and secure than you’d ever felt. You closed your eyes against the thoughts that swam around in your mind. You were thinking too heavily. You just needed to shut it off. Denji’s steady heartbeat gave you something to focus on, that and his soft snoring that sounded moments later. Sleep hadn’t evaded you tonight where it had so many other nights. Denji’s arms gently tensed around you as he drew you slightly closer in his sleep. After a few moments your mind had shut off and you were slowly and finally lulled to a peaceful sleep. One of many with Denji in the years to come.

“You gotta be actually kidding me,” You grumbled, dragging your bags into you and Gojo’s shared room. Sure enough there was a single damn bed smack in the middle of the room. You looked for a couch but there was just a small chair in the corner and a desk with a tv a top it. Gojo slid around you and you didn’t have to look at him to know he had a shit eating grin on his lips.
“Wow… very nice, very spacious.” Gojo beamed as he plopped his bags on the chair next to the bed. You were still standing halfway in the door, contemplating a quick escape when he turned to you and pouted. “It won’t kill you to share a bed with me.”
“It might.” You grumbled but walked inside, pushing the door shut behind you. You dropped your bags on the floor and sat at the foot of the bed. You and Gojo never got along… well you expressly made efforts not to get along with him because he annoyed you to no end. You actually weren’t sure how Gojo felt about you, you tried not to think about it. You were partnered with him on this mission for the exact purpose to 'build a bond'. It was stupid. You didn’t need a bond with Gojo to fight well with him. And Gojo didn’t need your help in a fight so this whole thing was pointless.
“You’re quiet.”
“And that surprises you?” You ask sardonically. Gojo slightly raises his eyebrows in a sort of 'touché' manner.
“If it bothers you so much I can sleep on the floor.” He says and you laugh. Yeah, you’d make the strongest sorcerer in history sleep on the floor. You rolled your eyes.
“I’m not immature like you, I can share.”
“Says the person who was huffing and puffing the entire way up here.”
“It’s laughable! This is shit teenage girls read about in fan fics.” You throw your arms up, exasperated.
“I don’t know what that is.” Gojo says and you sigh.
“Yeah, sure you don’t.” You grab your bag. “I’m gonna change.” You walk into the bathroom, slipping into a tank top and sweatpants, washing your face off. You walk back out just as Gojo’s pulling sweatpants over his boxers, his back riddled with scars. You pause where you stand. You had eyes, you knew Gojo was attractive. But you were sure he wasn’t your type, but that didn’t take away from the fact that he was built. The muscles on his back, his slim build. You felt a heat rush to your face when he turned slightly.
“Like what you see?”
“Don’t be an idiot.” You groaned, gaining back a little bit of sense. To your relief he pulled on a shirt over his head as you both slipped into the bed. You clicked on the tv as he clicked off the light.
“You’re gonna sleep with that on?” He asks as you nod your head.
“I can’t sleep in deathly silence.” You say and he rolls over to face you as you watch whatever was on.
“Can I ask you something?” He mumbles beside you.
“What?”
“Why do you hate me?” You look away from the tv for a moment, then to his eyes.
“I don’t hate you.”
“But you don’t like me.”
“Hate and dislike are very different.” You say as he sits up slightly.
“So you dislike me.” He says. You shrug.
“Why do you care what I think?”
“Why wouldn’t I? We’re partners now, right?” He asks innocently. You watch him for a moment, gauge his intent with this little questionnaire.
“The great Satoru Gojo shouldn’t care what a little nobody sorcerer like me thinks.” You say it partly as a joke but you can tell Gojo didn’t see it that way. He sniffed out your true intent.
“So that’s it? You’re jealous.” He points out and you narrow your eyes.
“I was joking.”
“It was a joke. It's a gross understatement of your abilities.” He says and you turn your attention back to the tv. “I can’t ever get a read on you. Or make you laugh or even so much as smile. You hang out with Nanami too much.” Gojo pouts, falling back on the pillows. He was right… you did hang out with Nanami quite a bit, maybe you did adopt some small parts of the serious man. A few quiet moments pass.
“I don’t dislike you.” You start and feel the bed shift slightly, he’s looking at you again, you're not sure why there’s heat in that look. “But that doesn’t mean I like you either.” You say as Gojo erupts into laughter.
“Haha… is that so? So I annoy you, that’s all?”
“Yes. You’re loud and nosey and,” you tug the covers closer to your body. “Apparently not good with sharing.” Gojo laughs a bit and you feel him scoot closer to you. The warmth radiating off of him in waves. Your heart springs to your throat and you’d be surprised if the nerves don't show on your face.
“Maybe I don’t like to share.” Gojo says beside you, and you dare look his way. He’s smirking at you, the tv illuminating his soft features.
“Sharing is caring.” You toss back and watch as that smirk turns soft. It makes your stomach flip. You decide you don’t like the way you’re feeling and roll over away from him and those damn eyes.
“Tired?” Gojo asks behind you.
“Very.” You answer shortly. You feel the bed shake softly with his laughter and you ignore it. Forcing your eyes closed.
“Goodnight then, grumpy.”
“I told you not to call me that.” You snap in a whisper.
“But it fits you so well.” He croons.
You were wondering before how you could slow your racing heart enough to sleep but the moment things got quiet you were out cold. When you woke up the next morning you felt a weight against your back, warmth radiating from behind. Sure enough Gojo was cuddled up behind you, his arm and leg both thrown over your body. If anyone asked, this did not happen. You also surely didn’t feel an overwhelming sense of comfort and definitely weren’t lulled back to sleep in seconds, moving closer to him and his body warmth.

You heard a knock at your door, your eyes drifted to the clock beside your bed.
3:15 a.m.
You placed your book on the side table and pushed out of bed. Gently opening the door, you gasped slightly. Geto stood, completely drenched from the rain at your doorstep. You opened your door all the way and reached to pull him inside.
“Suguru…” you admonished. “You’re drenched.”
“Uh huh.” Geto answered you, sort of noncommittally.
“Is everything okay?” You asked, there were dark, dark circles under his eyes, his face pale of that happiness he usually wore.
“I’m fine.” He shrugged as you furrowed your brows. He was acting strange and distant, you almost didn’t recognize him. You turned, grabbing a towel to wrap around him but he caught your wrist between his freezing fingers. You paused, looking back at him. That’s when you saw it, written all over his face. The darkness, the loneliness.
You’d been gone for about three weeks prior. In that time something horrible had transpired. Someone under Geto and Gojo’s care was murdered, you heard it happened right in front of Geto. Before Geto would often stop by your dorm to hang out, you two worked on coursework together, he liked how quiet and comfortable you made him feel.
This was the first night you’d been back. You tried talking to him earlier in the day but it was in one ear and out the other. You assumed he just didn’t want to talk. But his fingers flexed against your wrist now, gently pulling you to him by your arm as he crumbled against you. His head resting in the crook of your neck, rain dripping from his hair down your shoulder and back. His hands slid to your lower back, pulling you flush against him in a needy sort of desperate hug. You froze momentarily, you wouldn’t consider yourself the most comforting person but right now you knew you needed to be. You stood strong, holding up his weight as you wrapped your arms gently around him, damning the rain that kept him cold. He didn’t cry, just kept that tight hold on you until suddenly he pulled back.
“Fuck, I’m getting you all wet.” He says, hands coming up to wipe the transferred rain from your cheek. You blushed at the touch and shook your head.
“I don’t care about that.” You said, eyes devouring his features, you tried so hard to read him but you just didn’t know him well enough.
“Sorry… I— I didn’t think you’d be awake.”
“I’m glad I was.” You say and watch Geto’s eyes snake down to yours. You wanted to ask what was ailing him, how you could fix it but you didn’t want to scare him off… didn’t want him to feel like he had to talk about it.
“Can I stay with you? I can sleep on the floor.” Geto asked, your brows raised. You only had the one bed and there was no way you’d make this man sleep on the floor. You shook your head.
“You can sleep in the bed with me.” You said and turned to grab some stuff from your drawer, something he could change into out of those wet clothes. You found an old pair of your dad’s pj’s you’d brought along as well as a shirt you had stolen from Gojo. “Here, you can wear these.” You say, handing it over to him. He takes them graciously and you turn to give him privacy while you pull the covers back. When he walks around the other side of the bed your eyes drift up. He didn’t wear a shirt, just pants. You blushed as his eyes met yours. He gave you a soft smile and you two slid into the bed together. You reached over and flicked off the lights. After a quiet moment of not being able to get your heart to calm down, Geto's warm hands reached over and pulled you into him by your hips.
“I just wanna be closer.” Was all he said as your body was flush against his, his arms slotted around you. You didn’t think you’d get any sleep the night but as you listened to his breathing even out behind you your eyes slowly began to drift closed.
You’d wake up feeling cold, turns out Geto is an early riser and he was gone before the morning.

You fucked up. You’re going to lose your job for sure. You had pleaded with the hotel staff after arriving early to see one single bed in the room you were supposed to share with your boss Nanami. Your pleads fell on deaf ears. They were completely booked up for the next few days. You sighed, didn’t make a fuss and thanked the worker, it wasn’t their fault it was yours for not paying closer attention. Just as you turned to walk back up to the room the front doors slid open and in walked your boss, snow flakes in his tow colored hair. His eyes met yours and he waved. You smiled nervously and walked over to him to help him with his bags.
“I’ve got it, dear.” He says softly, reaching up to shake the snow from his hair. You nodded your head and led him to the elevator.
“How was your flight?” You asked, pressing the button as the elevator slid open.
“Bumpy,” He said. “And yours?”
“I slept the entire time.”
“Ah, that’s right… you don’t do well on flights.” He said as you two walked into the shaft and you pressed the button to your floor. “Next time I’ll schedule ours together so you don’t fly alone.”
“Oh… you don’t have to do that.” You say as the doors slide close and the elevator pulls up with a soft jolt.
“It’s okay, I don’t mind.” He says, glancing at his clock. He had a meeting early so he’d probably shower and go to bed as soon as you two got to the room. You swallowed as the doors slid back open and you led the way to the room.
“There was a… slight mix up on my part with the room.” You say as you slide the keycard into the door and it pings to let you know it’s unlocked.
“Hmm?” Nanami hums as you push the door open.
“I accidentally booked a one bed suite and they’re completely booked up for the weekend so I’m gonna call around and get myself a room.” You explain as Nanami sets his things down.
“Another room?” He echoes as you nod your head.
“There’s a hotel about a mile and a half away was gonna call and-“
“That bed’s rather large, Y/n.” Nanami said nonchalantly.
“Hmm?” You hummed as Nanami pointed to the bed.
“It’s cold and snowy out, if it makes you uncomfortable to share then I will be the one to get another room.”
“What? N-no, sir. You’re the one with a 6 a.m. meeting.” You say, then clear your throat. “I d-don’t mind sharing.”
“Then it’s settled.” He says, ruffling your hair as he walks by to shower and change. When he closes the door behind himself you're able to breathe. You quickly change yourself into something comfortable and pull the covers back, sliding into the cold sheets. You pick a show to have quietly playing as Nanami emerges from the shower, steam drifting from the open door. Your heart raced, you’d never seen him without his hair styled but now it just sort of fell around his forehead. You swallowed and forced your attention back to the tv. Nanami sat in the bed next to you, switching off the light. You reached for the remote to turn off the tv. “You can keep watching.” Nanami said, his voice deep and tired. You gave him a polite smile but turned the sound down just a bit as he settled back in the bed. You thought you would feel more nervous next to you but the warmth radiating off of him in waves was comforting. He placed his arm behind his head and watched what was on the screen, his other hand barely brushing you. You pulled the covers up, shivering slightly, gaining Nanami’s attention. “Cold?” He rasps, looking down at you. You blush… it wasn’t the cold.
“A bit.” You force out, sliding deeper into the covers.
“It is quite chilly in here,” He moves and grabs a sweatshirt from his luggage, holding it out for you. You smile thankfully and sit up to pull it over your head. It was warm and smelled just like him. You swallowed and thanked him softly as he settled back beside you. After a few moments you felt your eyelids getting heavier, in your sleepy state you move closer to Nanami’s warmth and are surprised when he gently places an arm around you instead of pushing you away. Your face slots perfectly on his shoulder and when you wake up several hours later Nanami’s head is resting on the top of yours.

Yuji’s face was bright red. His eyes are as wide as an owls. You looked at him with your head slightly cocked.
“What?”
“Y-you said we’d be sharing a bed?” He asked. You looked at him for another long moment, probably agonizingly long to him.
“Yes.” You answered simply as Yuji swallowed nervously and visibly. “What’s wrong, Yuji?”
“We-- we can’t share a bed, Y/n.”
“Why not?”
“I-- I wouldn’t be able--” He cuts himself off as he speaks, his cheeks slowly turning rosy red.
“You wouldn’t be able to do what?” You ask, brows furrowed as the moment slowly becomes sort of comical to you.
“Babe… your parents would be two doors down… I-- I want them to know I’m a gentleman.” Yuji says as you bite your lip to keep from laughing aloud.
“Yuji… We’ve been dating for months, you’ve already met my parents twice, they know you’re a good boy.” You say, reaching over and running your fingers through his hair. He instinctively moves his head closer to your hand and pouts.
“What if they’re doing this to see if I’ll sleep on the floor or in the bed? Seeing if I can behave myself.” Yuji prattles as you finally crack a soft smile, tilting your head as your hand trails from his hair to his chin, tilting his eyes up so he’s looking at you.
“Babe, you are severely overthinking this.” You say and lean in to press a quick kiss to his lips. Yuji calms at that and when you try to pull back he catches your face gently in his hands and pulls your lips back to his.
Yuji didn’t fully calm it seemed because the moment you and your parents parted after dinner and you pulled him off towards your room your hand slid into his. His palms were sweaty so you pulled his hand up and kissed his knuckles, eyes drifting to his face. He was blushing like crazy, glancing back in the way your parents had walked.
“Not this again.” You whisper as you pull him into your room and close the door behind him.
“I should sleep on the floor.” He says as you roll your head back.
“Yuji… you’re not sleeping on the floor.”
“I want them to like me.”
“They do like you, baby, they like you a lot. Otherwise they would’ve said something to me already.” You say, letting go of his hand to get changed. You pull your shirt off and hear Yuji gasp behind you. You turn and watch him turn away. You laugh at that, you couldn’t help it.
“This is not funny!” You hear him pout. You pull on one of his old shirts and a pair of shorts. You walk over and slide your hands around his waist from behind, kissing his shoulder. You feel him shiver at the contact. “Stop that.” He whispers as you smile.
“Turn around.” You direct. He does as told, blowing out a breath when he sees you dressed but then blushes when he recognizes his old shirt.
“You’re killing me, they’re gonna see this.” He gently tugs on the hem of the shirt.
“Take it off then.” You say and watch the red spread from his cheeks to his ears.
“Shh.” He sibilates, gaining another soft laugh from you.
“You’re really cute… I don’t think I can behave if you're gonna act like this.” You tease, moving closer to him. His face goes five different shades of cherry red and for a moment his body moves closer before he can think better of it.
“Please,” he lets out a rush of air. “I’m holding on by a thread.” You smirk at that but ultimately give up. You loved him enough to know you’d only make him more nervous so you gently grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the bed.
“I’ll be good but you have to sleep in the bed with me.” You say. Yuji nods finally as you flick off the lights and pull him into the covers. He settles beside you.
“Have you… brought a lot of guys home?” Yuji asks in the dark. “Sorry… that sounded…”
“You’re the first.” You say. You feel Yuji inches closer to you as you turn to face him. “My parents always joked that if I finally brought someone home that it’d be the one I marry.” You say and you hear Yuji suck in a soft breath.
“Marry?” Yuji echoes.
“Not anytime soon.” You laugh. “We’re barely old enough for that.”
“I wanna marry you.” Yuji says, his hands finding your hips in the dark as he pulls you close.
“Oh?” You smirk in the dark. “You want to marry me?”
“Yes.” He says confidently. “Whenever you’re ready I’m ready.” You slide your hands up to cradle his face as you press a soft kiss to his lips.
“We’ll give it some time.” You whisper as Yuji nods his head, you feel him smile against your lips as you exchange kisses in the dark until sleep takes you both.
Tumblr media
You had never seen anyone blush more than Choso when you suggested sharing a bed. You’d been on the run with the two brothers after Shibuya, dodging jujutsu sorcerers that were hired to kill you. You three had grown quite close during the few months. You protected Yuji like a younger brother but... you didn't feel that same familial protectiveness with Choso... It was something far different. Something that had you looking for him in every fight. Wanting to be as close to him as possible.
Yuji was fast asleep on the couch and you didn’t mind sharing but Choso… he was red, his eyes wide.
“Is something wrong?” You asked, slightly concerned at his reaction. For a moment he stared, his lips parting for a moment before he swallowed dryly and shook his head.
“N-no… nothings wrong.” He said unconvincingly. You slowly nodded your head, trying to understand his reaction. Maybe he wanted the bed to himself?
“Well… I don’t mind sleeping on the floor if you want the bed to your-”
“Absolutely not.” He interrupted, then looked apologetic. “S-sorry… no… I don’t mind sharing.”
“You sure?” You ask as Choso nods his head. “Okay.” You say softly, as you slide into it. Choso pulls off his shirt and changes quickly in the bathroom before laying on top of the covers. You look at him.
“Aren’t you gonna be cold?”
“I-- don’t think… so.” He forced out.
“Choso, is something wrong? Are you feeling okay?” You asked, concerned. You reach across the space between you two and press the back of your hand to his forehead. “You’re burning up.”
“I feel fine!” Choso inhales quickly at your touch. Your hand slides from his forehead to his warm cheeks.
“Are you sure?” You ask, eyes full of concern. Choso’s lips parted but no words came out. You furrowed your brows, if he felt fine then why was he acting so damn strange?
“Uh huh.” He finally affirmed. For a momet you stared at him, your brain working something. You laughed softly, shaking your head. You remembered a conversation you and Yuji had the previous morning. Yuji had claimed that Choso may have had a crush on you… He cited moments during fight where Choso would look for you, would find you and be the first to make sure you were okay. LIttle did Yuji know that you did the same thing. Maybe Choso wasn’t that kind of sick after all…
“Choso?” You asked as he hummed in response. “Do you… have a crush on me?” Choso’s small bit of calm seemingly breaks.
“What! What… n-no!” He looks away from you, hiding his face from your view.
“Oh… Am I wrong?” You ask. He looks at you then, his eyes and face and everything beautifully crafted. It all seemed to dawn on you in the dim light of this cold hotel room.
“Yes… you are.” He whispers intimately. Your breath catches in your throat. You hadn’t even registered that he’d taken his hair down, stands of it touching his shoulders. He was… too good looking for you to pretend you haven't felt something for him. But maybe you and Yuji were wrong... “Do you… have a boyfriend?” You hear Choso ask but your brain didn’t compute it for a moment.
“Hmm? A boyfriend?” You ask as he barely gives you a nod of his head. “Why?” Choso immediately realizes what he said and turns away, embarrassed.
“I… was just wondering that’s all.”
“No… I don’t.” You say, and bite the smile on your lips.
“... So you’re- uh- single right?”
“Yes, Choso.” You say, letting a smile fit to your lips. Choso’s eyes drift from your eyes to your lips and they linger there for a moment.
“Can I kiss y-” You press forward, cutting off his sentence. Pressing your lips against his. Choso’s eyes widen when your lips come in contact with his, he hesitantly returns the kiss, pulling you to him, bringing you both down onto the bed. He pulls the covers over you and him to shield you both if Yuji were to wake.

--------------------------------------------------------
It started with a simple act of service. Well… a simple act of saving your life. When you were younger you idolized heroes. The ones in the tv to be exact. Heroes in cloaks and tights, the ones that swung from buildings and punched alien invaders into outer space. Those heroes were cool but those heroes weren’t real. The hero that you saw on the television a few months ago, the one that was practically a celebrity… that one was nothing like the fictional heroes you loved dearly. Chainsaw Man he called himself. He was exactly what his name was, a man with chainsaws on his body. Most of the time he fought devils the fight wasn’t shown on live tv because of how gruesome and bloody the scenes were after he was done. But you saw pictures online and to say it might’ve haunted your dreams was an understatement. You weren’t entirely sure how you felt about this Chainsaw Man.
That was until you met him.
You’d been walking home when it happened. Your classmate Denji was walking with you earlier but you two parted ways the closer you got to your house.
Denji was… unruly.
You were forced to partner up with him on a project. Denji was brash, loud and certainly had zero qualms with asking for your number the second you walked over to him to talk about the project. You gave him your number but asked that he only text about the project… which he didn’t do. He texted you pretty much every hour. He’d send memes that unfortunately were pretty funny. He’d text pictures of himself working out and then say it was an accident. He sent a picture of a hamburger once and said he was thinking of you. You weren’t really sure what that meant but the hamburger did look pretty delicious. He’d ask how your day was and ask to meet for lunch. You’re not entirely sure how it happened but suddenly you two were somewhat friends.
Which is why when you saw multiple reports of devil sightings in your area you texted him and asked if he would walk you home after class since you two were getting dinner after and it would be dark when you walked home. He readily agreed. And he took it very seriously. His head was on a swivel the entire walk home, you could barely get a conversation going because of how focused he was on keeping a look out for devils. It was… endearing.
“Okay… that’s far enough.” You said as your street came into view. Denji looked over at you.
“Isn’t your house just a bit farther?”
“Yes but… if my dad or mom see you walking me home they’ll kill me.” You say, a bit embarrassed. You were in college but you still really feared what your parents thought of you. They were currently trying to set you up with a boy from their church and if they saw you walking home with a trouble maker like Denji they might push you harder towards that other boy.
“You sure?” Denji asked, cocking his head slightly, his hair falling slightly from his forehead.
“Yeah… Don’t worry.” You smile. “Thanks for walking me home.” For a moment Denji doesn’t respond, his eyes glued to your lips, a blush spreading across the tops of his cheeks and nose. “Denji?”
“Huh? Oh…! Y-yeah that’s no problem. If you want I can walk you home everyday until I die.” He rambles and then blushes even brighter at his clearly not well thought out words. You let out a surprised laugh.
“I’ll… keep that in mind.” You say, walking towards your house, turning and waving when you turn down your street. You glance back a last time, blushing as you watch Denji turn to leave. You’d never much thought about Denji in the ways that were seeping into your brain now. You turned to walk towards your house and wondered if it would’ve been so bad letting Denji walk you the rest of the way. You felt safe with him on the walk home. Suddenly your phone dinged in your pocket. You grabbed it, clicking open the message.
Denji (from psych): text me when you get home, okay?
Your heart tumbled around in your chest at the message. Just as you went to text back it all sort of happened so fast. It was dark out and you heard the approach before you spotted the thing. Whatever it was it was fast and had snatched you off your feet before you could even blink. The scream that escaped you died in your throat as you were dragged off towards the forest near your house. Your hands flailed out, grasping for anything to hold onto as claws dug into your ankles as it tugged at you. You screamed as the thing paused and that's when you were able to turn and look at it. Just as something revved and the damned thing holding you was split completely in half. The nails that dug into it released and you scrambled back until your back hit hard against a tree. You watched the creature burst apart and something emerge from behind it. Chainsaw’s glinted in the moonlight. You screamed at the sight as the man who saved you ran to you, gently clamping a hand over your mouth.
“Shh. Shh… It’s okay.” The voice that left the monstrous thing’s mouth was surprisingly gentle. You knew instantly who you were looking at. The hero from the news broadcasts. The Chainsaw Man that killed devils.
“Fuck… what… uh,” You breathed out, your voice ragged from screaming, tears wet against your cheeks.
“Are you hurt?” Chainsaw Man asked. His hands on your face, wiping your tears away with his thumbs. You stared at him dumbfoundedly. Seeing him this close was… strange. Uncanny… you felt as though maybe that devil from earlier had killed you and you were dead. “Y/n-- eh… M-miss, are you okay?” He asked again, you swallowed, wide eyed.
“Uh-- I think… so.” You forced out as Chainsaw Man sighed with relief.
“Let’s get you home then, can you stand?” He asked, moving back slightly. The Chainsaws that once enveloped his hands were no longer there… just regular hands that reached out to pull you to your feet. You shook as you let him pull you to your feet.
“Ah-- fuck… my ankles.” You hissed in pain, forgetting that the devil from before had dug its claws in you. Chainsaw man reacted quickly as you wavered on your feet and swept you off them into his arms. You gasped in surprise.
“I’ll get you to a hospital.” He said. He carried you like you weighed nothing and as the adrenaline and fear calmed in your chest you couldn’t help but slightly blush at the moment. “Do you have your phone on you?” He asked, you nodded your head, unable to say anything. He clicked a few buttons and you heard the sound of a text sending.
“What? Did you text someone?”
“I texted a friend of yours to meet you at the hospital.” He explained.
You didn’t work up the courage to speak until the lights of the hospital came into view. He lowered you into the grass as you looked up at him.
“What’re you doing?” You asked as the hero backed up towards the forest.
“Your friend will meet you here and take you the rest of the way… I don’t want to startle anyone else.” He said.
“W-wait!” You called out, he paused, looking back at you. “Thank you… You saved my life.” You gushed, smiling thankfully up at him. The cool facade this man wore moments ago faded in an instant. He tripped over his feet the moment he saw you smile and fell back into the woods. You startled. “Mr. Chainsaw Man… are you okay?!” You called out, unable to go to him. He stood quickly.
“Of course! Damn branches jumped out at me.” He kicked at the ground, clearing his throat. “And… you’re welcome… don’t walk home alone anymore Miss… it would be better to walk with a friend. A male friend…” He specified as you slowly nodded your head.
“Uhm… okay.” You said as he backed into the woods.
“Yeah… a strong one… the friend of yours I texted looks strong so… yeah maybe him.” Chainsaw Man said as you nodded your head, an amused smile growing on your face.
“Thank you again.” You said. Again the devil killer tripped and this time disappeared in the brush. You stared for a moment. “Chainsaw man?” You called out. Squinting into the darkness. Suddenly someone stumbled out from the woods startling you.
“Ah! There you are! I-- I uh got a text that said you’d be here!” Denji said, running over to you. You gasped, relieved.
“Oh! Denji… thank god!” You said and when he got close you pulled him into your body, hugging him tightly. Denji froze, you felt him stiffen. You didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable but it was so nice seeing a friendly face… although Chainsaw Man wasn’t exactly someone you’d be opposed to see again. When you went to pull away Denji’s arms closed around you and you relaxed.
“What happened?” Denji asked, muffled against your hair. You pull back finally, his hands still holding you loosely.
“A devil attacked me and… and Chainsaw Man saved me.” Even saying it out loud made you feel silly and surely enough Denji would laugh at your words but he didn’t. He looked surprised.
“R-really?” He stuttered as you nodded your head.
“I know it sounds crazy-“
“No… no I believe you.” He says, then seems to remember why he’s here. “We need to get you inside.” He says as you nod your head, not being able to ignore the stinging pain.
“I can try to walk,” you say, trying to push to your feet because surely your classmate couldn’t carry you but… but you’d be wrong.
“No… I got you.” He says and just like Chainsaw Man from before you are lifted with ease into Denji’s arms as he carries you across the way to the lobby of the hospital. “Are you sure you’re okay? Only your ankles got hurt?” He asks as you nod your head. “I— should’ve walked the entire way with you.” He says guiltily. You instant shake your head.
“No… don’t say that. It was my fault I should’ve just let you walk me home.” You say, the exhaustion of the night and the calmness of Denji’s heart made you tired. “Thank you for coming to help me.” You whisper. At that you hear Denji’s heart race.
Your parents picked you up from the hospital. They scolded you the entire way home, saying that the boy who helped you should officially walk you home everyday. You knew Denji wouldn’t mind in fact when you got home around four a.m. and checked your phone you saw a couple texts from him already.
Denji (from psych): sorry I left, I saw your parents and didn’t want to get you in trouble.
Denji (from psych): please text me when you’re home so I can have peace of mind.
You: hey! sorry just got home hopefully you didn’t wait up for me this late.
Denji (from psych): oh thank god. everything went okay?
You: yeah I’m fine! The cuts weren’t too deep. I saw news reports of that same devil that attacked me. It had already killed a few people before me. I got super lucky. Looks like I owe Chainsaw Man a big fat thank you kiss.
You stared at your sent message for a moment, blushing. Why in the world would you say that? You moved your hand over your face. Admitting that you might now have a crush on Chainsaw Man to your classmate had your stomach in knots and you're not entirely sure why. You thought about your other friends and how all of them had crushes on Chainsaw Man but for some reason telling that to Denji made you nervous.
The next morning you checked your phone. Denji had read the text the moment you sent it but didn’t text back. You're not sure why it embarrassed you so much so you thought up a plan that if he asked you’d say you were on pain meds or something. But truthfully… you’d do a lot more for Chainsaw Man if he asked. He saved your life… his voice still swam in your mind. So calming. He was so strong and wasted no time rushing you to help. It was hot. You hadn’t had a crush on someone in a long time and you felt that little flutter in your stomach and knew all too well what it meant. That’s when you heard the doorbell ring. Both of your parents were already gone for the day and you were about to start walking to college.
You opened the front door and to your surprise a blushing Denji was standing there in the rain. You blinked a few times.
“Denji?” You asked, he was soaked through with the rain. For a moment you two just looked at each other. Denji unable to speak just at the sight of you. You smiled slightly, a soft laugh escaping your lips. “Denji?” This seemed to snap him out of whatever stupor he was in as he blinked, sputtering out as he spoke.
“Y-Your mom called me and asked if I could walk you. Didn’t know it would be raining today.” He explained nervously. You stared at him. He was acting very strange.
“Come in.” You ushered him inside which made him act even more nervous. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Yeah!! Yes yeah of course yeah I’m good.” He stuttered out. You laughed softly.
“Denji, you're absolutely soaked.” You laughed and he seemed to notice he was dripping wet all over your carpet.
“Oh- oh shit! Sorry!” He went to step back outside but you caught his arm.
“Wait- it’s fine, Denji, really come on in.”
“Your carpet?”
“I don’t care about the carpet.” You smiled with a soft laugh. When you looked at him his eyes were glued to that smile. It made your stomach flip. “I think my mom thought you had a car.” You said after a moment as Denji’s eyes snap up to yours.
“Sorry…”
“Don’t be.” You laughed. “I think… we should skip. What do you think?” You asked as his eyes grew large and he visibly swallowed.
“Really?” He asked as you nodded your head.
“I mean… My legs still hurt a bit and if we walk we’ll probably catch colds… which reminds me you need to get out of those wet clothes.” You said, unknowingly wreaking havoc on Denji’s nervous system. “Come with me,” You said softly. He dropped his bag and kicked off his shoes, jogging to catch up with you as you led him to your dad’s room. You grabbed some sweatpants and a t-shirt and handed it to Denji. “Here, change into this and give me your wet clothes so I can toss them in the dryer.” You said. Denji nodded obediently and started to pull off his shirt. You blushed instantly. “Wait.. wait… let me get out of the room.” You laughed as Denji laughed nervously. You closed the door behind you and paused. Your heart in your throat. You blew out a breath, walking towards the kitchen. Denji joined you a few minutes later and you smiled at him as you took his wet clothes and tossed them in the dryer.
“How’re you feeling?” Denji asked.
“I’ll be okay. I’ll probably have a cool scar down there.” You joke but Denji’s face was slightly serious. You wondered if he still felt bad about letting you walk alone and just at the thought you blushed.
“I’m… really sorry you got hurt.”
“It’s just some scratches, Denji.” You reassure him. “I’m really okay.” He looks at you and a moment builds between you two before he swallows and nods his head.
“Thank god I- ah uh… Chainsaw Man got to you fast.” Denji professed as you nodded your head with a wistful sigh.
“Yeah… he’s my savior.” You laugh, walking to sit across from Denji at the counter.
“Savior…” He said softly. “You still gonna give him a big fat thank you kiss?” He asked and suddenly went entirely red, the look on his face told you he hadn’t meant to say that outloud. You let out a surprised laugh.
“I… am not ashamed. I would. He saved my life.” You say earnestly and watch as a lot of stages pass Denji’s face. His dark brown eyes wide. You laughed, shaking your head. “What? I’m hardly the first person to say that. All the girls at school have crushes on Chainsaw Man.” You wave off. Denji suddenly looks overwhelmed and perplexed.
“They… they do?” He asks as you nod your head. He hums in response as though he’s taking this information in. “All the girls?”
“Probably.” You giggle. He clears his throat, looking sort of serious.
“Do… Do you?” He asks.
“Why? Are you jealous?” You ask teasingly. But it seemed you were right on the money because Denji choked on air, coughing. “I-- I was just joking, Denji.”
“Yeah! Yeah of course…” He said, slightly hiding his face.
“Denji?”
“Hmm?”
“Do you… do you like me?”
“Of course I do!” Denji answers and for a moment you two stare at each other.
“Oh,” You breath out, a violent blush spreading across your face.
“Oh! Oh.. you-- you meant..” Denji hides his face even more and you dissolve into laughter, slightly relieved he misunderstood. You could deal with a crushing on Chainsaw Man because he was unattainable… but Denji… he was here, real. Really seemed to care for you. It made your heart race in ways Chainsaw Man never could.
“Let's… just forget I said anything. Are you hungry?”
“I… yeah I could eat.” Denji forces out. You grab some stuff for you and Denji to snack on and lead him to your room. The entire time Denji is nervously fidgeting and you're not sure his face has stopped being red. You wondered if he was getting sick from walking here in the rain. When you opened the door to your room and walked inside Denji paused in the doorway. You turned back, his eyes were drinking in his surroundings. “Wow… this is cool.” He walked deeper in and immediately went to your manga shelf. “Holy shit!” He said as a warm smile fits to your lips as he looks at all the titles on your shelf. “You like this series?” He asks, pulling out one of your favorite mangas. You smile excitedly, nodding your head. You two gush about the series for a bit as he finally settles a bit. You put on a movie for you two to watch and scoot over, making room for him. He sits sort of uncomfortably as you laugh gently.
“Come on, Denji, I don’t bite.” You say. Denji laughs slightly.
“Of c-course… I’m just not… used to being… alone with a very very pretty girl who said she wants to kiss me.” He struggled with his words. You laughed.
“I never said I wanted to kiss-” The laugh dies on your lips as Denji and your eyes meet. Everything clicks into place there and then and you feel like a fool. “Holy shit.” “Oh fuck.” You and Denji speak in tandem. You continue to stare at each other in shock. Denji realized his mistake with his words.
“Denji…”
“I… I misspoke.”
“No… no you didn’t.” You say, sitting up slightly. Denji jumps to his feet.
“I-- I did!”
“Your… holy shit… Denji are you Chainsaw M-”
“No! No, of course not!” Denji tried to laugh it off but everything started to click into place. After All that calming voice… you’d been hearing it almost everyday. You felt like a complete idiot for not realizing. Then your entire face burned red because you had just professed your want to kiss Chainsaw Man in front of Chainsaw Man himself.
“Holy shit… you,” You started to laugh softly, it grew slowly. “You’re really him. Your Chainsaw Man.”
“You… You can’t tell anyone!” He said quickly. He gave in pretty quickly. “Please… promise me you’ll keep this to yourself.”
“I won’t tell a soul.” You said, a gentle smile on your lips. Denji stared at that smile. You should’ve known it was him, he always trips up when you smile. “You saved my life, Denji.” Denji’s eyes grew, for the hundredth time today he blushed. So he wasn’t sick after all, you were just causing him to malfunction it seemed. “And you pretended to text yourself.” You laughed as Denji sunk down on the bed, covering his face with his hands.
“I’m so embarrassed.” He mumbled into his palms. You reached, gently grabbing his wrists away from his face. He stared at you dumbfoundedly. You moved a bit closer.
“Don’t be. I… I owe you.”
“You don’t owe me anything! Seriously, I would save you anytime you need.” He expressed.
“I don’t doubt that.” You grinned, letting go of one wrist and sliding your hand into his with the other. You could see the nerves building in him. Nothing to be done about that, you were only going to make it worse. “But I do owe you. If… if Chainsaw Man wants it.”
“Wants… what?” Denji breaths out.
“A kiss.” You say and watch Denji’s world turn on its axis. He mouths the word ‘kiss’ and immediately his eyes go to your lips. You can tell how badly he wants it. You move a bit closer. “Do you want-” Denji shoots forwards, his lips slamming against your own. You gasp, surprised. The unexpectedness of the kiss jolted your system. The shock of the moment leaves both of you breathless. Denji’s quick and needy kiss, his hands sliding around your back as he pushed you back against the headboard of your bed. You made a sound against his lips that only spurred him on even more. Your bodies melted together, lips slotting together in perfect harmony, intertwined in a slow, sensual rhythm. A sort of primal desire comes over Denji as he presses even closer to you, his kiss trailing greedily from your mouth down your cheek to your jawline then your neck. You shiver, sucking in a breath, your eyes fluttering closed, hand sliding into his hair to gently grip his hair. Denji whimpers against your neck and your stomach bottoms out at the sound. “If you… leave marks on me… I’ll be in trouble.” You murmur, biting your lip. Denji trails his kisses back up to your lips and you grab both of his cheeks and hold him there.
“Mark me up then,” He says against your lips. You blush at his words.
“Denji…” you breath out, this all was happening so fast.
“Ah..I.. want to be yours.” Denji implores. “I… I really fucking want you to… own me.” He confesses. You let out a shaky breath and gently swap places with Denji, pushing him back against the pillows of your bed. He burns beneath you, hot to the touch. If he wanted to be yours it was more than fine with you. You duck down and press a kiss to his lips before gently ducking lower, pressing chaste kisses to his neck.
“I really fucking like you too, Denji…” You whisper against his neck. Denji sharply gasps at your words, a strangled whine escaping from his parted lips. His body sort of twitches beneath you as you slowly slide your legs over him, straddling  against his clothed waist. He’s hard, so achingly hard that when you press against him he can’t help but let out a stifled moan. This was escalating very quickly… and you weren’t at all dissatisfied with this moment.
“Y/n…” Denji groaned out when you gently bit his neck.
“Hmm?”
“You… don’t have to-- d-do this…” Denji forced out between noises of pleasure. You lifted your head.
“What?” You asked softly. He swallowed, forcing himself to pay attention at this moment.
“I… want you to want me. Not feel like you owe me because I saved you.” He explains the best he can with you on top of him completely muddling his mind. You could tell how badly he wanted this and wanted you and the fact he was second guessing for your sake made your heart swell.
“Denji…” You breathed out.
“Let me take you out sometime… you deserve a date, s-something romantic.” He elaborates and you bite the smile on your lips, slightly tilting your head.
“You want to take me out?” You ask as Denji nods his head quickly.
“I know you like Chainsaw Man… but I want you to like me as well.”
“Oh… Denji.” You croon, sitting up. “We can go out. Anytime you want. And… yes I do like Chainsaw Man, he’s very cool… but he… he wasn’t the first person I wanted to kiss, ya know.” You say and watch the realization dawn on Denji’s face.
“Wait… you-- wait… when?” Denji asks, halting hope and half in utter disbelief.
“When you walked me home. You were so serious about keeping me safe.”
“I am very serious about that.” He doubles down. You smile at that and watch his eyes drift to it. Like a moth to a flame. “It wasn’t the shirtless pics of my muscles?” He asks as you scoff out a laugh, reaching and gripping his bicep gently.
“Wow… just like in the picture.” You tease.
“My friend said that would work.” Denji tries to hide his face in shame but you catch his wrists again, shaking your head in amusement.
“I didn’t say I didn’t like them.” You purred, gaining just the reaction you were wanting. Denji’s face got all red like you liked and when you let go of his wrists his hands fell and rest just on your hips.
“I-- I think I should leave.”He says suddenly. You softly furrow your brow, wondering if you’d made him uncomfortable in any way but know the thing pressing against your core meant he was enjoying this little chat.
“Okay… I’m sure your clothes are dry.” You say and when you move to get off of him his hands tighten slightly on your hips. You look back at him, his face was scrunched up slightly. “Denji..?”
“I-- don’t want…” He thought about his words carefully. “I don’t want to go. I don’t want to let you go.” His fingers flex on your hips. You smile down at him.
“Then don’t.” You say and he looks up at you.
“I really should, ah--- y/n,” Mid sentence you gently ground your hips against his and watched as his sentence fell apart. His grip tightened even more as his head fell back on the pillow. “Please… oh ah-- please don’t, Y/n… I really want to- ah ah fuck… please.” He can’t even form a coherent sentence.
“What is it, Denji?” You ask innocently as you slowly pick up speed. The moans and groans that escape his parted lips are heavenly. You could listen to them all day.
“Ah-- fuck… Y/n. I can’t-- don’t make me… in my pants…I’ve never… done this…before.” He says, cheeks flushed from embarrassment. You didn’t let up, just reached and gently grabbed him by the chin and angled his lips up to yours so you could kiss him, a fire of your own building below your stomach. You desperately wanted to rid you both of the layers of clothes between you and just at that thought you felt the tips of Denji’s fingers dip beneath the waistband of your pants, sliding back towards your ass. You shivered and kissed him harder as a reward. “Ah… am-- am I yours?” He whimpers helplessly against your lips. “F-fuck me like I’m yours, p-please.” Your stomach bottomed out at that. Jesus… You raised up slightly and pulled your pants off as fluidly as possible, tossing them aside. You helped Denji out of his own pants and paused because you’d never done this before. It was clear he hadn’t either. Despite it all you blew out a nervous breath and pressed on, lining up your entrance with his cock, letting it slide inside you. The noises you both made made the entire room heat up and spin around you. You moved your hips at a decent speed and wrapped your arms around the back of Denji’s neck, tucking your face in his neck as well. Your heart was in your throat thumping loudly as you fumbled your way through the motions, unsure of what you were doing. “Y/n…” Denji’s voice spoke softly, you pulled back and when your eyes met his all the fear an anxiety of the moment drained away. He kissed you hard and rocked up into you, muffling the moan on your lips.  The want that built inside you tightened like a ball in your stomach, slowly being wound free. Denji kissed you, he kissed your cheeks and your forehead and when you came it was together. It was more romantic than you could’ve ever, ever imagined. All those horror stories of first times that all your friends had told you back in high school. You were damn glad you waited. Denji kissed your lips a last time as you two unlatched from each other. That’s when you heard the sound of the front door downstairs opening.
“Oh fuck.” You said suddenly, jumping up, grabbing your pants. You tossed Denji his and ran to your door, poking out your head. Sure enough your mom was home early. Your face flushed as you pressed your door shut quietly. Sure it was embarrassing to some that you still lived with your parents but you were a broke college student and nowhere else. But right now you would rather perish than your mom catching you with a boy in your room.
“Your parents?” Denji asked wide eyed as you nodded your head, running to your window, pushing it open.
“I am… so sorry but you have got to go. Run around to the side of the house and I’ll meet you with your stuff okay.” You say as Denji nods his head, vaulting out of the bed, running to the window. He put one leg out, turned and kissed you quickly before sliding out of it, jumping to the grass below. You gasped, sticking your head out to check if he was okay just as your door opened. “Jesus, mom!” You gasped out.
“Y/n, I thought I heard you,” Your mom said as you pulled the window closed. “Are you feeling okay?” She asked as you nodded your head.
You snuck out the front door about fifteen minutes later and ran to the side of the house. Denji was waiting there and startled when you finally came around.
“Sorry,” You apologized, handing him his stuff. He wasted zero time dropping the stuff you handed him, hands sliding on your cheeks to bring your lips to his. You smiled against his lip.
“We didn’t get to talk after,” He said after a moment. “Was that… are you okay?” He asks, your heart exploding in your chest. “I’ve never done that before… Was I good enough for you?”
“Denji…” You swooned. “You were perfect. And for the record neither have I.” You said and Denji’s lips parted in surprise.
“Really?” He asked as you nodded your head. He swallowed, letting out a breath. “You were heavenly…” He said, making you blush.
“Alright Mr. Chainsaw Man… you really need to go.” You laugh as Denji pouts.
“When can I see you again?”
“I’ll leave my window unlocked.” You say and watch Denji’s face erupt in another glorious blush.
“No… I have to take you out properly before I sneak into your room again.” He says as you laugh, biting your lip.
“Alright… plan something, I’ll be waiting for your text.” You say and Denji nods his head, kissing you one last time before leaving. You shake your head laughing, as you head back inside. You grab your phone from your room and scroll through you and Denji’s messages until you find one of his shirtless pics, you send it back to him with the caption, new lockscreen <3.

FOOLISH | denji
(this is part two! click here for part one)
synopsis: you get a little jealous... authors note: hi! this part two is approximately six months late. apologies. HOPE U ALL ENJOY cw: SMUT, nsfw, sinning and lots of it, edging, lots of making out in various places, aged up characters!, not proofread (sorry), female reader wc: 3.4k
--------------------------------------------------------
You weren’t jealous. You were fuming. You weren’t sure of Himeno’s age but you knew she was older than you. Meaning she was older than Denji. Sure you all were above the age of consent but still… What would she want from a younger man anyways? It was quite the age gap. These questions just suited to make you even angrier as you sighed heavily and audibly. She was all over the poor boy. The worst of it was he looked thoroughly entertained by her. He seemed thoroughly entertained by you just last week when he was begging for a kiss.
“Y/n?” A voice to your left said. You about jumped out of your skin.
“Hmm?” You intoned, sliding your eyes to the girl next to you. Kobeni, she looked nervous. Probably because you were still wearing the glare.
“Everything okay?” She asked, her eyes following where yours were glued for so long. You felt embarrassed and covered it with a practiced smile, nodding your head.
“Yeah… why?” You asked, knowing she would be the last person to call you out.
“N-nothing…” She said, fiddling with her hair. You felt guilty for making things awkward. “Do you… have a thing for Denji?” You couldn’t have guessed that would be coming out of Kobeni’s mouth so the utter surprise that was fixed to your face was something you couldn’t hide or smoothe over.
“W-what?” You questioned, lips parted. Kobeni leaned on her hand slightly, lowering her voice.
“Do you have a thing for-”
“I heard you.” You snapped, keeping your voice low. You sighed, looking back over towards Denji and Himeno. Your eyes met his for a moment and you looked away quickly, an aggravating blush creeping to your cheeks. “I could kill you.” You mutter, letting your head fall in your hands.
“Is that a yes?” Kobeni whispered. Your eyes snapped up to hers.
“No. That is not a ‘yes’!” You hissed in a hushed tone. Her lips zapped closed at that. “He’s-- he’s a devil. He’s immature and pushy and annoying. How could you ever think…” You trailed off, heated.
“Okay… I’m sorry I asked. It’s just…. You were staring for a long time.”
“I… was lost in thought. It had nothing to do with… them.” You said, the last word coming out a bit begrudgingly.
“Oh…kay.” Kobeni says. “Well… I heard Himeno’s gonna try and sleep with him.” You flinched hard at her words, your stomach twisting uncomfortably in disgust.
“W-what?” You managed to force out. Kobeni leans close to you as though you two were sharing juicy gossip… which is pretty much what you were doing.
“She said he was cute… she liked how inexperienced he was.”
“That’s… predatory.” You say with a sharp look pointed towards Himeno. She was blushing, throwing her head back in laughter at something Denji said. Your gut twisted and you forcibly turned yourself back towards Kobeni.
“You didn’t hear it from me.” She winks, leaning back, sipping her drink. You were the jealous type, but you weren’t the type to act on these things. You sat back in your chair, looking over one last time, and when your eyes met Denji’s you looked away again and pushed up from the table. “You okay?” Kobeni asks as you give her a weak smile.
“Yeah… I just-- I’m tired, that's all. Gonna head home.” You say, Kobeni gives you a sort of pitying smile and nods her head. She knew and you didn’t care to justify yourself. You weave through the crowded restaurant, shouldering open the door into the cold drizzle of rain. It cools your heated cheeks. It feels good. So much better than that cramped restaurant. You head down the sidewalk and now that you're alone you feel sort of safe with letting your thoughts wander. Safe with letting the emotion of the night plague your features.
Yes.
Yes you were fucking jealous. As begrudged as you were to conclude that. You didn’t have much right to be jealous. You and Denji kissed twice and you ignored him for three days after that. You never let on that you liked him before that and definitely not after. You had no right to be jealous. But you were. It couldn’t be helped. Denji was… a lot of things. Things that you didn’t like. Immature for starters, he was foolish and knew not even the first thing about women. Feeling this way for someone like him was dangerous and surely detrimental to your own feelings. But still… You couldn’t help it. Because he was all those things but kind to you. He saved you. He makes you laugh, he’s annoyingly funny. He shares his food with you and follows you around like a lost puppy. He texts you stupid memes and picks you up matcha tea lattes everytime he goes somewhere without you. He begs you to read your books aloud to him if he’s in the same room as you and watches all your sappy romance movies without complaining. He gives you his favorite manga to read and gets very excited when you like the same characters he does.
You stopped walking as the rain started to pick up, ducking under an overhand a few doors down from the restaurant. You leaned against the cold brick of the wall, watching the rain coming down in droves now. You thought about the kisses you two shared. How you’d never felt that way before. How after you closed the door between you two you couldn’t sleep that night. Just kept replaying that moment over and over, feeling the warmth of his hand slide around your hip and pull you close to him. It shocked you really. How you lost sleep over a kiss. It was frustrating. You felt like a silly little girl again.
“Y/n!”
You had crushes when you were a teenager, not that they ever really amounted to anything. Nothing ever went your way with love. That was something so much like sand through your fingers. Hard to grasp and even harder to hold onto. You had no experience, of course you wouldn’t be picked over someone who had experience.
“Hey! Y/n! There you are!” You heard his voice seconds before Denji slammed into you with a bone crushing hug. You yelped as he swept you right off your feet.
“Hey! W-what?” You gasped as Denji sat you back on your feet, his hands just above your hips.
“I called your name like fifty times! You didn’t hear me?” He asked, his hand coming up without a warning to push your hair from your face.
“I didn’t.” You deflected, a heat rushing to your cheeks.
“Kobeni told me you were sick.” Denji worried, his hand coming up to press against your forehead, sliding down to press against your cheek. He sucked in a breath. “You're cold.”
“It’s cold outside.” You smiled smally. “I’m fine. Just tired.” Denji pulls his jacket off even though you already have one on. “Denji… no you don’t have a jacket.” You protest but he’s already draping it over your shoulders.
“Better?” He asks as you look up at him.
“You need a jacket.”
“Chainsaw man doesn’t need a jacket.” He jests, causing a small laugh to escape your lips. You watch in real time Denji looking at the smile on your lips and matching it. You feel butterflies in your stomach and look away before they can take flight.
“You can go back… I’ll be fine walking home.”
“No.” He says with a shake of his head.
“No?” You echo.
“I’m not letting a pretty lady walk home alone. Someone might take you.”
“Someone?”
“Yes, someone. Someone with eyes.”
“Really specific.” You laugh. “I’m a devil hunter, no one’s taking me.”
“I don’t care. I’m coming home with you.”
“Wouldn’t you rather… go home with someone else?” You ask and feel foolish for asking, foolish for letting that stupid bout of jealousy to show. Denji cocks his head like a dog.
“Someone else?” He asks and you almost tell him to forget it but your lips are moving before you can stop them.
“Himeno.” His eyes go to yours and for a moment you both just stare at each other.
“Isn’t she like thirty? I’m not trying to go home with a cougar when I could go home with you.” He says and a startled laugh passes your lips.
“A c-cougar, Denji…” You shake your head laughing.
“I might be an idiot but I am not dumb. No one could even comes fucking close to you, you know that right?”
“Shut up.” You blush, hiding your face slightly. Denji reaches up and gently catches your wrist, pulling your hands away from your face so he can look you in the eyes as he speaks.
“I mean it. You are my top girl. The only girl for me.” His words have the utmost sincerity in them that you almost feel your knees go all wobbly. Your lips part. You try to recover, try to laugh it off and shake your head but he doubles down by moving into your space and grabbing both of your cheeks to press a kiss to your cold lips. It’s just a quick press, something to drive his words home to you. And when he goes to lean away from you, his lips parting in words about to be spoken you cut him off. Throwing your arms around the back of his neck, spinning him around and pressing him into the cold brick wall.
“Oh…” Denji gasps against your lips, his hands sliding around your lower back. You press slightly frantic kisses to his lips, kisses you dreamed about, kisses that plagued your sleep. “I can’t-- believe your-” You kiss the side of his mouth, slowly trailing kisses down. Kissing his jawline, then under his jaw. He obediently raises his head giving you easier access to his neck. “Uhn… holy shit…” He practically pants out, his hand snaking down, palming your ass. You can’t help but laugh, breaking your concentration. “W-what?” He whimpers out of breath.
“You couldn’t help yourself could you?” You ask, his hand still on your ass. He can barely think about what you're talking about, you're standing so close, he can still feel your lips against his neck. Yeah… you’re not gonna be able to get a straight answer out of him for a bit. It makes you laugh even harder, this sort of calms his overheated brain, affording him a moment of reality.
“Oh… oh sorry… I should’ve asked.” He says and lets go. You shake your head.
“No… it’s… it’s fine.” You laugh warmly, sliding your hand under his jaw, thumb sliding over his cold cheek. “I just know… how badly you have wanted to touch a girl's ass.”
“Your ass.” He clarifies. “I have a list of things I want to touch, you draw me a map and I’ll follow it.” He says with the utmost seriousness. You find yourself blushing at that comment, realizing you two were still in public. The rain had stopped, you're not sure when and people were starting to walk around a bit.
“Okay, playboy, let’s cool off. You laugh and watch as Denji’s face gets serious.
“Oh… I forgot you weren’t feeling good.” He intones softly, making you smile.
“I feel fine.” You say and he perks up at that, sliding a hand around your waist, pulling you to him.
“Then I want to kiss you some more.” He says and when he leans in you turn your face, his lips hit your cheek.
“Not… out here.” You say, blushing. Denji pulls back, nodding his head.
“At home?”
“Aki’s home.” You remind him and Denji lets his head fall against the wall, a whine escaping his lips.
“I could kill that ponytail freak.” He groans as you laugh, shaking your head, linking your hand with his and pulling him towards home.
“That’s not very nice, Dennis.” You say and Denji’s lips part in mock disbelief at the nickname.
“That’s messed up, baby.” He pouts, making you laugh even harder. He pulls you to him, draping his arm around your shoulders, fighting the bite of the cold away.
When you two get to the apartment building, Denji jogs to open the door for you, holding it open as you walk inside, giving him an amused smile.
“So,” He starts, catching up with you as he starts walking up the stairs. “When do we start dating… or have we already?”
“What?” You sputter out, surprised.
“You kissed me like you owned me and I want you to.” He explains making your entire body go red as you stop at the top of the stairs.
“Denji…” You start, unsure how to even phrase any other words after that last comment.
“Y/n… please don’t ignore me for a week again, I barely survived the last time.” He says as you look at him apologetically.
“I’m sorry,” You sigh. “I was… figuring things out.” You explain and Denji nods his head.
“Did you?” He asks and you look at him questioningly. “Figure things out?”
“I… against my better judgment… do like you.” You force yourself to say. Denji’s entire world flips on its axis, he goes pale for a second and you think he might actually pass out. You reach to steady him. “Denji,”
“I’m fine.” He bleats, clearing his throat. “You like me.” He echoes with a dreamy look in his eyes. They drift back to you after a moment. “So I belong to you?”
“No…” You say, not really liking the sound of that.
“No?”
“Denji, you're your own person.” You try to explain.
“Fuck that.” He waves off. “I want to belong to you. I don’t mind if you don’t want to belong to me.” He explains but then thinks better of his words. “Though the thought of someone else touching you makes me feel ill.” He cringed. You can’t help but laugh, he looks at you. He loves watching you laugh, especially when he’s the cause of it. He kisses you mid laugh, just wanting that smile pressed against his lips. You made a sound, somewhere between a surprised gasp and a content sigh. In the hallway alone there was a bit more privacy. He’s stood one stair below you so you have a few inches on him, his neck bent slightly up to kiss you, both hands sliding to pull you in by your cheeks and pull you impossibly closer. Your hands hold his wrists loosely. The kiss grows as he takes a step up, now towering over you as he slowly backs you up into the front door, pressing your back to it. Your right hand slides around the back of his neck, pulling just slightly at his hair. Your other hand wraps around his waist, resting there and pulling him in closer. Both his hands stay on your face, he’s kissing you with more ferocity than any of the other times. It’s almost like this is the last chance he’ll ever get, that he has one shot to really drive it home to you how badly he wants you.
Suddenly the door behind you two opens and you stumble inside. Aki holds the doorknob, groggily wiping his eyes.
“Did you guys forget your keys?” He asks, unaware of what was just happening outside the door.
“Yes!” “No.” You and Denji answer at the same time, Denji pouting at being interrupted again. Aki just mumbles something and heads back to bed, pushing the door shut, leaving you and Denji in the dimly lit hallway. Denji sighs, watching Aki go.
“That guy is always interrupting.” He grumbles, making you crack a smile and a soft laugh.
“He’s not doing it on purpose.” You say and Denji just rolls his eyes, huffing. You gently grab Denji’s hand. “If you can be quiet, I’m sure we won’t be interrupted anymore.” You whisper, pulling him back towards your room. Denji almost tripped at your words, a violent blush spreading across his entire body.
“Y-you can’t say stuff like that!” He whispers as you laugh softly. “You’ll get me excited.”
“That’s the point.” You say and when you push open your door Denji practically pounces on you. You catch and push your door shut at the last second as he’s walking you back to the bed. The backs of your knees hit and then you both fall back onto the covers. Denji pressed his weight against you, kissing you hard. His knee comes up just between your legs and pushes below your knee to part them. He was eager, very eager to crack you open, to touch every part of you and kiss you until you both couldn’t take it anymore. You rolled him over so you were on top. His hands slid down and rested on your hips. You grabbed one of his hands and guided to rest just on your ass. His cheeks went cherry red at that and you couldn’t help but snort out a laugh. You lean down against him and feel his ragged breath fan across your lips.
“I could…” He breathes out. “I could die beneath you.” Your own cheeks blush.
“No need for that.” You smile, pressing a gentle kiss to either of his cheeks. “I’ll be gentle.”
“Treat me however you want… You own me.” He whispers, his fingers flexing where they lay on your body. The feeling of the kiss and all the sensations made Denji feel so hot and flustered. The feeling of the intense passion and heat. It was something that made him feel so many emotions. The sensation of your tongue sliding against his, and the breath mingling against each other's, was enough to make him moan and whimper. "D...don't stop.." Denji's breath was still shaky, his blushing was still bright and he gulped. The heat was so intense and the feeling of your tongue mingling with his sent him over the top. Denji's body shuddered and trembled. You kissed him hard, your hips absentmindedly moving against his own heating and winding him up way past what he could handle. Denji's body jolted as the heat only built up more. Denji knew he was going to lose it soon... the kisses, the slight grinding and the intense lust... it was only building more and more. Denji gulped and his breathing hitched again, he was barely holding back the feeling of... him going over the edge. You trailed a kiss to a sensitive part of his neck, whimpering out his name into his ear. That pushed him toppling right over the edge, Denji's breathing went wild, his back arched and his body jolted. He felt like he could explode at any second. The heat and the intense feeling of satisfaction and ecstasy... it made Denji moan and feel like he was on cloud nine. Denji didn't even care about the embarrassment of how loud his moans were, he was so lost within the ecstasy of pleasure. You clamped a hand over his mouth as he came undone beneath you. Denji's voice was muffled, but this made the experience even better. You moved your hand and muffled his sounds with your lips. The sensation of all this lust and pleasure, the feelings of satisfaction and ecstasy... were overwhelming, but the kiss... made it all worth it. Denji’s body jolted and trembled.
“Shit…” He slowly breathed out.
“Did you…?” You trailed off. He gulped and spoke quietly.
“I-- I told you… you get me too excited.” Something bloomed in your chest, you pressed a soft kiss to his forehead. “It’s okay.” You whispered.
“Really? You’re not mad?”
“Of course not.” You laughed, running a hand through his hair. You two part for a bit so Denji can clean up, he comes back about fifteen minutes later as you were pulling the covers back to go to bed.
“Could I sleep with you?”
“What?” You blurt out, turning.
“I mean… sleep, actually sleep. I want… to.” Your cheeks blush but you nod your head, he slides in the bed first as you turn out the light. As you draw closer he reaches out for you and pulls your body against his, tugging the covers up over you. He presses a kiss to your shoulder and slightly tightens his arm around your waist. You knew right then it was over for you.
Just as much as he belonged to you, you knew you belonged to him as well.

cw: sports au!, hockey player zoro, not proofread, slightly suggestive wc: 3.5k
--------------------------------------------------------
You would venture to say you're a pretty reasonable person. You never got angry easily, or upset. You kept it together pretty well usually.
Usually.
Today… Well, today was an exception. Actually it was always an exception when Rorona Zoro was in the rink. He was one of those rowdy hockey players that you would mostly ignore. You worked at the ice rink on weekends and most of the time you got lucky. The players would either be at away games or out partying on weekends. But not Roronoa Zoro. If you could say one nice thing about him it was that he is dedicated to his craft. You had the displeasure of being stuck talking with him and a few of his hockey buddies one day. Who knew this one day would taint the rest of the times you saw him.
His hockey friends were desperate, you’d think they’d never talked to a human woman before in their life the way they pounced on you. Asking you tons of questions about your life, if you had someone, who was your type, did you fancy anyone. By the time they were done asking you felt as though it was an interrogation. You were about to tell them you had to get back to work when suddenly Zoro spoke first.
“Leave the girl alone.” He’d walked out of the showers, his green hair damp and messy. “She clearly doesn’t like being interrogated.” He grumbles. The rest of the team sighs but they listen to the green haired man, leaving you be. You watch as they head back towards the showers, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Thanks.” You had said, he shrugged.
“You should learn to speak up for yourself, rink girl.” He says and before you can respond he’s gone back towards the locker room.
Asshole.
After that you didn’t even spare him a glance, let alone a moment of your time. When he’d check in you’d slide the clipboard over to him not even looking up. It was a bit petty but you felt slightly vindictive towards him. Maybe not entirely towards him but also the company he keeps. His other hockey friends are atrocious to be around. They stare and ask for your number and try to eat lunch with you and just bother you relentlessly. Also despite them all claiming to have interest in you they call you rink girl because of Zoro even though your name is on a tag on the front of your shirt.
Days like today were no different. Once again two of the players were at your desk, asking about your day and pretending to care.
“Still no guy?” The blond one asks, you never learned their names since they didn’t care to learn yours. You clicked your pen, you had paperwork to do and were in a particularly bad mood.
“Still no girl?” You snap, the blond one pouts but the brunette one snorts a laugh.
“I see why Captain likes you so much.” The blond one mutters under his breath. You barely hear it, your brows furrowing.
“What?”
“Dude… shut up.” The brunette intercepts, knocking the blond in the back of the head. The familiar ding of the front door sounded as Zoro entered the building. “Oh shit… let’s go, hurry!” The blond gasps, you watch the two players practically sprint and trip over each other to get away from your desk. You furrow your brows as Zoro clears his throat. It makes you jump.
“Jesus!” You gasp.
“No, it’s Roronoa.” He says as he watches you place a hand over your heart, the other grabbing the clipboard for him to sign.
“Ha-ha.” You mock, sliding it to him. For the first time in a while you look at him. It’s cold out so he’s bundled up slightly, his cheeks lightly dusted pink from the cold. He’s almost… handsome? You never really noticed. You can’t look away… well until his eyes meet yours. You look away quickly as he clicks the pen and places it on the clipboard, sliding it back to you. When you reach to grab it back your fingers just barely grace his hand. He’s warm, despite just being out in the cold. You clear your throat, pulling your hand away quickly, busying yourself with your paperwork again.
“Hey,” He says as your hand pauses and you slowly look up at him. He looks at you for a moment, as though he’s trying to read something on your face.
“What?” You ask, slightly concerned that he’s lingering at your desk more than usual.
“I saw those two idiots talking to you.” He says and you're not sure if it’s a question or a statement so you nod your head. His jaw tenses as he sighs heavily. “Are they bothering you?” He asks. You stare at him for a moment, trying to read his face to know whether or not he was messing with you. He was infinitely serious.
“No. I can take care of myself.” You say with a tad bit of venom in your voice. He nods his head, the look in his eyes unreadable.
“Good.” He says and with that walks towards the locker room without another word. You watch him go, very confused.
A few hours pass as you walk back to your desk after lunch. The players are leaving for the day, some of them wave at you and you wave back halfheartedly. When the blond and brunette from earlier today pass they walk past you like wounded dogs, very clearly avoiding looking in your direction. Zoro isn’t with him curiously and as it gets later you see he’s the only one who hasn’t checked out and since the rink is closing soon you sigh and hop up from your chair. You walk into the locker room first, silence fills as you poke your head around the corner. Sure enough his locker is open and full of his stuff. You make your way towards the rink you know he’s in there before you even catch sight of him. You hear the sound of his hockey stick smacking against the puck sending it flying through the air, it swishes into the net with ease. A perfect shot. He hasn’t noticed you watching as he sails across the ice to retrieve the puck and set up again for another drill. He’d gotten much better in the months he practiced here. He played like a possessed man, much different from the person you watched practice months and months ago. Not that you knew anything about hockey but there was a reason this man was the captain.
“Enjoying yourself?” Zoro calls out to you. You jump again for the second time again, blowing out a breath, holding your heart again. “Someone’s jumpy.” He mumbles as he lines up a shot, sending it sailing down the ice into the goal. You clear your throat.
“We close in six minutes.” You call out to him coldly, turning.
“Hey,” He calls out to you. You're not sure why but you pause, turning as he skates to you, the only thing shielding him from you was a thick piece of acrylic glass that spanned the entirety of the ring. “You play?” He asks as you furrow your brows.
“Hockey?” You ask, looking up at him. Was he always this damn tall? He nods his head, reaching up and wiping sweat from his brow. You scoff, slightly amused.
“No.” You answer and his eyes travel from your own down your body then slowly, agonizingly slowly back to your eyes. You're blushing by the time he meets your eyes again.
“Think you can block me?” He asks and you stare at him incredulously, it takes you a long moment to answer.
“W-what?” You question, he cocks his head, smirking down at you.
“I said… Do you think you could block me?”
“I heard you.” You sigh. “And no… I don’t think I could block you.”
“Why not?” He asks, leaning against the glass.
“B-because you're like eight foot tall and hundreds of pounds.”
“Ouch… you make me sound like a monster.” He tsks, still with that grin on his lips.
“You are… you're huge.” You say and a second later your words cause you to blush and look away.
“Uh huh.” Zoro hummed, laughing slightly. You swallow, clearing your throat. “Put on some skates, Y/n, if you can’t guard me I’ll need a goalie.”
“We’re closing, in fact we're probably closed already.” You say as he shrugs his shoulders.
“Hmm… didn’t take you for the scared type.” He says, slowly skating towards the puck.
“I…” You stutter, scoffing a laugh. “Am not scared.” You finish as he shoots you a look, a challenging one. It was stupid really. Stupid that you found yourself sliding into skates and sailing right towards him in the rink. “Fuck,” You curse, not able to stop as you practically crash right into him. But it’s more like hitting a damn wall, he barely budges and grabs you before you can go down. “Sorry.” You breathe out, his hands are on your hips, stabilizing you, your hands on his shoulders trying to keep your balance.
“You can’t even skate?”
“I just haven’t done it in a long time.” You say feeling a rush of something entirely out of your control when his hands slowly let you go. “I’m fine,” You say, testing the waters as you skate around a tad bit. He watches you like a hawk and when it looks like you're about to go down he’s there in seconds, those big hands back on your hips.
“I think it’s safe to say I’ve won this game before we even started.” He says with a slight laugh as he slides off his jacket. You shake your head vehemently.
“Nuh uh! I just-- need to warm up, that’s all.” You say, staring at the ground as your hands grip his forearms.
“Here,” He says, placing his jacket on your shoulders, it smells like him, like something warm and woodsy. You slide your arms through the sleeves. “Look up,” He says. A moment later your eyes find his, something sparks between you, your stomach doing a flip. “Don’t stare at your feet as you skate.” He directs as you nod your head, not trusting yourself to speak and not mess up your words. Slowly he starts skating backwards, holding you as you keep up with his pace. Slowly you fall back into your old routine, able to skate on your own.
“See… told ya’.” You say a bit cockily, almost falling again but catching yourself. Zoro smiles softly, shaking his head. You could crash looking at the smile alone. You force yourself to look away. “So… how do we play?” You ask as Zoro grabs and tosses his stick to you, you catch it with ease.
“We’ll play for five minutes, if you can score one goal on me you win.”
“I thought I was gonna play goalie?” You ask.
“I’d rather me get hit with pucks than you.” He says, warmth spreads through you at that, so you don’t answer him. He reaches and zips up your jacket before skating towards the goal. He turns to face you, crouching slightly, nodding his head to you. Game on, you guessed.
You skated a few feet before hitting the puck hard. It sails and misses the goal by at least a couple feet. Zoro laughs.
“You’re trying right? That wasn’t even anywhere close.” He mocks as you skate to grab the puck.
“I don’t even know if I’m holding his damned thing right!” You call out, shaking his stick at him.
“You’re not.” he says and you huff.
You hit the puck again and again and again. A few times you made it close to Zoro but he just batted it away with ease. You weren’t sure how much time passed before you were hitting the puck again, missing, the force of the hit making you lose your balance and slam onto the ice. You lay sprawled out on the ice as Zoro skates over quickly to your side. You took the opportunity to hit the puck where you laid and slowly it glided into the goal.
“She shoots! She scores!” You cheer from the ground as Zoro scoffs a heartily laugh, his cheeks dusted that same pink from earlier.
“That was a dirty play.” He grins, looming above you.
“It was a play all the same right? Is that five points? I don’t know anything about hockey.” You skirk as Zoro lends you a hand, you take it.
“It’s one point.” He laughs, pulling you easily to your feet.
“One point…” You trail off. “I slammed into the ground for one point.” You say and Zoro breathes out a laugh, nodding his head. “What do I win for beating the captain? Bragging rights?”
“You can’t utter a word of this to my team.” He says in a mock serious tone as a smirk grows on your lips.
“You can’t tell me that, Roronoa, I’m the captain now.” You say as Zoro raises a brow, his cheeks going even more pink.
“Is that right?” He asks, his voice a rasp. You notice than how close you two are standing, you're still holding his hands, the warmth of them radiating through you.
“That’s right.” You confirm, keeping a well placed poker face.
“Got another round in you?” He asks as you shake your head.
“Y/N! Is that you?” Your boss called as you heard the door being pushed open. Your heart drops in your chest, the alarm showing on your face. “What’re you doing?” Your boss asks as you stutter out a sorry.
“She was helping me clean up, sir, sorry for keeping her.” Zoro calls out to your boss. Your boss buys Zoro’s words.
“Well hurry up, I need to get home for dinner.” Your boss says, walking back out of the rink. You blow out a breath, skating towards the exit, Zoro just behind you.
“Jesus… thanks.” You blow out, heart still in your throat.
“No worries.” He says just behind you.
You plop down on the bench, leaning to untie your skates. Zoro sits beside you quietly, doing the same. It's a little awkward now, especially after all that oblivious flirting you were doing. This wasn’t something you couldn't see coming.
Just last week you didn’t even like looking at this guy, now you found yourself liking looking at him. A complete turn around. Not entirely unwelcomed though.
When you finally kicked off your skates, you sat up just as Zoro reached over, warm fingers on your chin and turned your face gently towards him and pressed his lips to your own. You gasped, taken off guard, eyes wide. A spark shot through you like nothing you’d ever felt before. His fingers on your chin slid until he was gently cupping your cheek, his other hand coming up and doing the same thing on the other side of your face. He kissed you gently. Slowly your eyes fluttered closed, your hand reaching up and falling short, as you knotted it in the front of his t-shirt, pulling him by it closer to you.
“I really fucking like you.” He mumbles against your lips in between kisses, you kiss him hard at his words. Ghosted over your lips causing a shiver to track down your spine. All the pent up emotions you harbored came spilling out as you somehow ended up in his lap, the moment grew intense, a groan escaping his lips that your lips muffled. His hands found purchase on your ass as he stood, taking you with him, carrying you with one hand to press your back into the acrylic glass around the rink. One of your hands slides around the back of Zoro’s neck, tangling in his hair. Zoro makes a sound you didn’t think was possible for him to make, something that had your stomach bottoming out and your fingers barely tugging at his hair, a soft sort of whimper escaping his lips. His kisses then turn hungry, almost feverish. He’s burying his lips in yours, forgetting to breathe, his hands tightening around you, completely lost in the moment. Someone clears their throat, startling you both as Zoro lets you down. Your boss stands there, hands on his hips, a look of embarrassment on his face.
“Sir, I was helping him.” “She was helping me.” Zoro and you speak at the same time. Your boss raises his head, shaking his head as you nod your head in understanding leaving with your boss.
You were reprimanded but ultimately he let you keep your job. Yay. It was your first infraction and he said to keep it professional which you agreed with and apologized vehemently. You probably apologized hundreds of times in a five minute conversation. Your boss asked not to talk about it again and you were completely fine with that. You gathered up your stuff and pushed out into the cold winter night. The cold hitting your warm cheeks and cooling you off. You didn’t have a moment alone to think about what had just transpired.
“Y/n…” Zoro called out as you crossed the parking lot. He waved as you blushed. “I’m so sorry… you didn’t get fired did you?”
“No... What was that?” You asked as you got closer.
“What?”
“Why’d you kiss me? I-- I sort of thought you hated me.” You confront.
“What? I don’t-- I don’t hate you.” Zoro shakes his head.
“You sure? I mean-- you were an asshole to me that one time… saying I needed to learn to take care of myself and that stupid fucking nickname? Rink girl? All your teammates call me that by the way.” You say, all of it sort of falling out like word vomit. Zoro raises his chin slightly, looking down at you.
“They call you that?” He asks, his voice level as you sigh.
“Yes! They do!”
“I’ll fix that.” He promises as you stare at him. This whole night was just strange.
“Why’d you kiss me?” You ask again. Zoro’s eyes soften.
“I told you already.” He says as you shake your head.
“You didn’t tell me anything? We barely talked before today.”
“I said I like you. I said I really fucking like you.” He reiterated. You remember him saying that. The heat and warmth spread like a wildfire after hearing it again.
“Why?” You ask as Zoro sort of cocks his head.
“Why?” He echoes as you raise your brows, nodding your head imploring for an answer. “Because you're pretty. You’re funny and I like the way you ignored me all the time.” He admits as you laugh despite yourself.
“What? Y-you like that I ignore you?”
“I did. I like this way better.” He motions to you and him talking. You raise your head.
“Okay…” You say skeptically, you find your mind trailing back to the kiss and it brings a blush to your cheek. You clear your throat. “How long?”
“Hmm?”
“How long have you liked me?” Zoro looks like he’s thinking about it for a moment.
“The first day I met you probably.” He says nonchalantly. You laugh.
“Yeah… sure.” You roll your eyes. He steps closer to you.
“I mean it. You introduced yourself and said I had green hair, not that you liked it, you just said I had it.” You remembered that, your lips part in surprise because he remembered it too.
“It’s uncommon.” You say and Zoro smiles warmly down at you.
“Still don’t know if you like it or not.” He grins as your eyes bounce to it.
“I like it.” You say and see a soft blush form on Zoro’s cheeks. “Why were you such an asshole to me that day?”
“I-- am sorry about that. I was more angry with my teammates for annoying you. I wanted you to know that you could speak up for yourself, that you could just tell them to shut up but-- I’m sorry.”
“And Rink girl?”
“Poor attempt at flirting…” He says. You start laughing, shaking your head.
“The poorest attempt. But… your words did make me speak up for myself more, so…” You relent. Zoro smiles softly. You can’t help it, you pull him against your lips. That smile was too much. You needed it pressed against your lips. His hands slid around your hips.
“Christ, Y/n… go home!” Your boss grumbles as you startle, Zoro’s hands stay planted on you as you shoot an apologetic look at you boss.
“Sorry, sir.” You say as he waves you off, slipping into his car and driving away. You start laughing, your hand coming up to cover your mouth.
“You are going to get me fired.” You grumble as Zoro presses his mouth to yours again as though he couldn’t wait another damn second, walking you back until your back is pressed against his car. He lifts you with ease, setting you on the hood as the car’s alarm sets off.
“Fucking hell!” Zoro hissed, fumbling for his keys. You dissolved into laughter.

PAPER RINGS | takuma
synopsis: takuma meets your parents, it goes better than expected. authors note: hi there. i was watching the proposal and this story came to me :] i really think jjk is for the girlies and gays with the amount of male characters that are literally too sexy. anyways pls enjoy this story!!!!!!!!!!!!!! does anyone else wanna help me track down gege? he's a fucking menace. cw: slightly suggestive, ANGST, shibuya mention, slight spoliers about nanami wc: 4.3k
--------------------------------------------------------
You glance over at the driver's seat, Takuma is bouncing his leg up and down, his hands gripping the steering wheel, knuckles white. He was nervous. You could tell it instantly. He was rigid, Takuma was never rigid, he was always relaxed. Your first few weeks of dating he was nervous around you and you could see those same mannerisms now. You reached over, turning the radio down a bit. It had been playing the same three Christmas songs on every channel. Takuma glanced over at you and gave you an anxious smile. So you reached over and laced your fingers with his free hand.
“You survived Thanksgiving, Christmas will be fine.” You whispered, pressing your lips to the top of his hand. You nod his head.
“I don’t think your Dad likes me,” He starts.
“Why would you think that?” You asked, leaning your head against the seat, inspecting Takuma’s side profile. He was distracting, his jawline and soft brown hair, his chestnut eyes that matched the soft tan sweater you got him. He looked good. Really really good.
“I don’t know, I just feel like he doesn’t like me.”
“My father is very outspoken, Ino, he once told one of my ex’s that he was ‘fucking annoying’ right to his face.”
“Oh god.” Takuma breathes out.
“My point is that if he didn’t like you, he would’ve said something to you already.” You say, reaching over to run your fingers through the ends of his hair. Takuma leans into your touch as he presses lightly on the break at a red light.
“And your mom?”
“My mom,” you laugh. “She loves you.”
Which is true. Your mom had pulled you aside during Thanksgiving to rave about Takuma. How he helped her in the kitchen and didn’t seem bothered the least bit when helping clean up. Takuma glances at you with a hopeful look in his eyes.
“Really?” He asks as you nod your head. He bites his lip to keep from smiling too largely. You see his shoulders relax slightly and you roll your head back towards the passing trees. The heat blew from the vents to your cheeks, snow falling fresh and white from the dimmed sky.
There were things you were keeping to yourself. Big changes you weren’t ready for. You wanted everything to go perfectly this weekend but in quiet moments of reflection you wondered who you wanted it to go perfectly for. Because once you said the things on your mind that just might be the end for you and Takuma.
You and Takuma have been together for about three years now. You met in Shibuya on Halloween night. It was a crazy night that you didn’t like to remember much of. You’d been there for a Halloween party and next thing you know things were blowing up and people were dying. Takuma had appeared like some sort of superhero, he helped escort you to safety. That night you learned about things you never wanted to learn about. Such as the existence of curses, and that cute boy that you’d fall in love with worked to exterminate such curses. Some jobs he did were fine, minimum damage. But most jobs he’s barely make it out alive. Like the one in Shibuya. Takuma didn’t talk about that night at all, only meeting you. Everything else was an extremely sore subject for him. He had talked about a Nanami Kento at one point while somewhat drunk but the most you got out of him was that he looked up to him but then he got quiet. You assumed Nanami wasn’t around anymore, probably because of the curses they fought.
That was something you could’ve gone your entire life without knowing because it irrevocably changed things. Life was scarier now. But on the other side of the coin you also met Takuma.
You and your friends had gone to some stupid party, you remember it raining at one point, your freshly curled hair going flat. You stepped out of the party into the brisk cold air, rain hitting your hot skin, cooling you off. You let your head fall back against the brick wall behind you. You don’t even know why you came out tonight, it wasn’t less than an hour until your friends all found some boys to mess around with and leave you all on your own. You pulled the cold beer bottle up to your lips and downed what little you had left in it, tossing the glass bottle in the trash. It cracked loudly in the bin. You needed another drink. Or maybe you needed to call a taxi and get the fuck home already. You let your eyes fall closed, the bunny ears on your head sliding and almost falling off your head. You adjusted them and shivered slightly, the cold air finally getting to you. Then again what did you expect, wearing a flimsy corset and ripped tights, a cotton ball glued sideways on your ass. Something shifted down the alley, a few cans falling over. You turned at the sound. You were wary usually and dressed like this you shouldn’t have left the club alone. A growl erupted from about thirty feet down the alley. This had you turning and walking back towards the bar until something large stepped in your way, knocking you back on your ass. There was no explanation for what you were looking at. It was a monster, about nine feet tall, with grotesque features and a gaping mouth, its purple tongue lolling to the side. The scream that left your lips was part fear and confusion, part hoping someone slipped you some mushrooms or something because what you were looking at right now couldn’t have been real. The monster spoke then, in a garbled tone, something about its mother? Something about shopping? You couldn’t understand it before there was a burst and suddenly you were covered in purple goo.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, it’s dead.” A comforting voice said, you hadn’t noticed you were still screaming. You took a staggering breath, wiping the goo from your face. A hand extended and you took it. The man in front of you steady you, looked you over for any wounds then slung his jacket over your shoulders. “You're okay? I got it before it could touch you?” He asks. You blink a few times, unable to form words through the shock of what you just saw. He reached forward, barely touching your shoulder. “Ma’am, it’s dead. I’m here, nothings going to hurt you.” He says and slowly your eyes raise to meet his. Beautiful brown eyes. There’s a quiet moment, like the world has slowed for a moment. The stranger's eyes looked gentle, his voice the only keeping you from freaking out all over again. “You're not hurt are you?” He asks again and slowly you shake your head. “Thank god for that,” He says and he sounds genuinely relieved.
“You saved my life.” You say with a sort of unbelievable amazement. “From--from uh- what- what the fuck was that..?”
You’d asked him his name that night he saved you, he made a show of things and kissed your knuckles as he left. A month or so later he walked into the bookstore you were working in. He had bandages on his eye and the color gone from his face. You almost didn’t recognize him. When he checked out he looked at you, squinting slightly.
“I recognize you,” he says as you look up.
“I was in Shibuya during Halloween.” You say and recognition dawns on his face.
“You were dressed as a bunny.” He points out as you blush. You certainly were, it was your friend’s idea. You each went as some kind of cute animal. There was a cat, a mouse, a rabbit and your youngest friend dressed as a dog.
“Not my best costume.” You say, somewhat shielding your face.
“You looked cute.” You blushed even deeper. “I didn’t get to thank you.” You say as you hand him his receipt. “You saved my life.”
“You’re welcome. I’d do it anytime.” He says before blushing. You smile down at your shoes.
“Could I buy you a drink maybe?”
That was the start of everything. You kept seeing Takuma until he finally kissed you, then you saw him all the time. Now three years later you two lived together. Things had been busy and your parents lived in another state which is why he never got to meet them in person until recently. Takuma grew up in a warmer climate and coming down to where you lived, mid-winter was like a Christmas all of his own. The first time you guys flew here for thanksgiving it was snowing. Takuma ran out of the airport and took thousands of pictures. It was cute. He eagerly bought a parka, beanie and earmuffs. He wore them all the entire weekend. This weekend was no different. He was ready now for this climate. He had various cable knit sweaters you helped him pick out, and a barrage of scarfs. You loved how he loved your hometown. He called it Christmas town, and said it reminded him of Hallmark movies. It always made you laugh because it was one of many states that got lots of snow, he just wasn’t used to it.
You pull up and the front door to your house is already cracked open. The lights are perfectly placed outside, white snow covering the roof and the ground. There’s a shoveled path for you two to follow. You both hop out, Takuma grabs all the bags before you can even think about grabbing your own.
“Give me a bag, boy wonder.” You tease as Takuma just shakes his head and walks towards the front door. He was very chivalrous all the time, always putting you first. You rolled your eyes lovingly and jogged to catch up with him.
“Don’t slip on the ice patch there.” Takuma calls out over his shoulder as you step over said spot. Your Mom appears at the front door, the fog on the window blurring her figure. She waves as both you and Takuma wave back. Then she pushes open the door and holds it open for you two.
“Hi honey! Merry Christmas!” She says as you two meet in a tight hug.
“Hi mom. Merry Christmas,” you return. Your mom pulls back, tucks your hair behind your ear before turning to Takuma.
“Hi handsome, love the sweater.” She says, reaching and pulling Takuma into a hug.
“Hi, Mrs. Y/L/N. Merry Christmas.”
“Come inside you two, out of the cold.” Your mom said as Takuma picked the bags up and you held the door open for him. The heat hit your cold cheeks immediately, the smell of your Mom’s homemade cookies hitting you. You smiled to yourself. You moved away from home several years ago, teenage rebellion, but lately you’ve felt a bit alone. You had your friends, who weren’t really all that great if you were being honest, and you had Takuma of course but all your best friends and family lived here. You missed the cold weather, the snow, the wide open space that city life back there was lacking. You sort of felt like you were being pulled in two separate directions. Homesick and lovesick, you just wished there was a cure. Where everything could be in one place. Then there was the glaring fact of Takuma’s dangerous job. That had you unable to sleep the nights he was out working. Laying on the cold side of the pillow wondered if tonight will be the night he doesn’t make it home. It was really fucking with you lately. Which is why you planned the trip back home on thanksgiving and Christmas, maybe to ease some pain in your heart.
“Alright, I fixed up your room so if you guys wanna rest for a bit dinner will be ready by six.” Your mom says.
“Where’s Dad?” You ask.
“Late, work has been crazy. He’ll be home around six.” She says as you nod your head.
You lead Takuma upstairs, pushing open the door to your old bedroom. Your mom redecorated it a few years ago, thank god. You’d be humiliated if Takuma saw your old one direction posters. Takuma dropped the bags on the floor and fell onto the bed. You kicked off your shoes and shimmied out of your jacket. Takuma leaned up on his forearms, giving you that look. You cocked your head and bit back a grin.
“Don’t you dare look at me like that.” You say walking a bit closer. He leans up, reaching for your thighs to pull you closer.
“Like what?” He asks innocently, large fingers wrapping around you as you bury your fingers into his hair. His eyes glistened in the dim light of your room.
“You know.” You may as he gives a quick tug and you fall on top of him, legs spread to straddle his legs. His hands travel up and rest just at your hips. “My mom is right downstairs. You’re going to make a terrible impression.” You half laugh as his lips press softly against your open throat.
“Me? You’re the one who can never keep quiet.” He says muffled against you. You blush deeply remembering the time you met his parents. You two had snuck off and got caught by his cousins. It was humiliating. His lips travel up to your jaw, kissing softly. You shudder, pushing him back onto the bed, caging his body with yours.
“Maybe I should make a mess out of you then, see how you like it.” You say teasingly, pressing your knee between his legs. He jolts at the contact, a strangled noise escaping his lips.
“Shit,” he gasps. “No, no, you’re right. It’s not smart.” He said as you laughed, moving off of him. His hands are still on you though, as though he’d really like to take a chance.
“We should’ve stayed in a hotel.” You sigh, reaching to pull the blankets out from under you. Takuma snorts at that, helping as you two get under the covers. He pulls you against him, wrapping an arm around your back.
“Are the walls that thin?” He asks as you nod your head against his chest.
“Trust me they are.”
“I don’t wanna think about why you know that.” He mumbles in the dark as you giggle.
Your father was about fifteen minutes late and he came rushing inside, profusely apologizing and kissing your mom on the cheek as he entered. His eyes found you and lit up. You rushed to him as he grabbed you up, spinning you around. You giggled. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
“Hi pumpkin, Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas, Dad.” You beamed. Takuma was a few steps behind you as he held out a hand to greet your father. Your dad glanced at the hand and shook his head.
“Bring it in, son, it’s Christmas.” Your Sad said as Takuma breathed out a soft laugh, meeting your Dad in a hug. Your heart soared. None of your other boyfriends ever made it past a second trip to your parent’s house. Not a single one. Your father usually had his mind made up the first time. It seems as though Takuma made a good first impression.
You sat beside Takuma at the table, he held your hand underneath the entire dinner, even as your hands went clammy. It was cute. The dinner went over better than you could’ve imagined. You had never seen your Dad laugh so much, he was usually somewhat serious. But Takuma was funny, that was one of the many things you found attractive about him. He was charismatic and charming, you never stood a chance staying single around him. After dinner Takuma helped your mom clean up as you and your Dad drank cocoa in the living room.
“Pumpkin,” Your dad started as you turned to him. “I think this one’s good.” He motions to the kitchen. Your heart swells.
“He is.” You say, there was a sort of swoon to your tone.
“A lot better than that last one you brought home that one was fucking-“
“Annoying.” You finished with a laugh as your Dad nodded his head, making a face as he remembered.
“I can tell he cares and as much as I don’t want you married off states away from your family I guess I wouldn’t mind if it was with that boy.” You stared at your Dad, feeling slightly choked up.
“Won, that’s uh- thanks Dad.” You said, sipping the hot drink, but you couldn't stop the tears from falling. Your Dad noticed.
“Oh honey, did I upset you?” He asks as you shake your head.
“No! No of course not its-- I,” You buried your face in your hands. Saying it outloud would make the things you felt finally real. You weren’t ready for that. Your Dad reached for you, pulling you into a hug. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, hugging you tightly.
“What is it then?” He asks. You didn’t want to talk about it. Today was a happy day. Your family liked Takuma. You loved Takuma. You weren’t ready for things to change. Things were starting to feel normal.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Takuma’s voice came from the threshold of the kitchen. Your teary eyes slid to his. Fuck. You turned and pressed a kiss to your Dad’s cheek. Getting up you reached for Takuma’s hand, pulling him upstairs to your room. “What’s going on?” He asks as you press the door closed behind you. You blow out a breath, everything hitting you at once. Tears slid down your cheek in a hurried rush, clearly taking advantage of you finally letting them fall. Takuma was across the room in a split second, pulling you against his chest, kissing your forehead and holding you tightly. You sniffled, his scent strong, warmth and cashmere. He ran his hand through the back of your hair and just held you until you calmed down.
“I don’t want things to change.” You said, your voice sounding pathetically sad. Takuma pulled back slightly, your eyes meeting his. He reaches and rubs the tears from your cheeks with his thumbs.
“What things, Baby?” He asks, eyes searching. You swallowed.
“Us.” You say. He looks at you for a long moment, slowly cocking his head before shaking it.
“Us?” He echoes. You let your eyes fall closed, annoyed at how you’ve thought about this shit for months but couldn’t form the right words right now.
“I didn’t wanna do this but my Dad-- he said something.” You say.
“What he’d say?” He asks, concerned about his features, looking as though he might take care of your father for you.
“It’s not like that, he- he meant well.”
“What’d he say, baby?”
“He said he’d be okay if we got married.” You say, letting your eyes drift back up to Takuma’s. He’s gently biting his lower lip.
“Really?” He asks, his thumbs caressing your cheeks. You nod your head.
“And that’s not something you want?”
“Of course it’s something I want,” You say in a rush, not wanting him to think you didn’t want him, not even for a second. You wanted him. Forever if you could. He slowly nods his head, trying to understand. “I’m sorry, I wanted to know what I was going to say before I said it.” You sigh. “I want to marry you, that’s something you want to, right?” Takuma looks at you like that's a stupid question. He nods his head. “Then there are things I have to say.”
“Okay,” Takuma says softly. You take his hand and walk across the room, sitting down side by side on the bed. You remembered years spent in this room. Dreaming of the moment you fell in love. Writing little stories in your journal until the sun rises in the sky. Reading them to your family at breakfast. You remember the first boy you brought in here, how he made fun of the books on your nightstand. The second boy you brought home got in a screaming match with your dad. The third one apparently was fucking annoying. And now the fourth. Takuma. There wouldn’t be a fifth. This one was the love of your life, you fucking knew it. It was the love your parents had.
“I can’t stay with you if you continue to be a sorcerer.” You say and the weight of it leaves your shoulders and presses down on your chest. The look on Takuma’s face. There were no words to describe the confusion, the hurt, the whirling of emotions.
“Oh,” He says. That’s all he says.
“Ino, I’m sorry, I didn’t want to do this on Christmas but it is something I’ve been thinking about. Especially lately.”
“Why did you talk to me about it?”
“Because- because I know how much you love it.” Tears well up again. Fuck you hated crying. You never used to cry but now it came so damn easily.
“I do. I do love it.” He says and your heart breaks a little.
“I know you do.” You say and your words sound so damn sad. Takuma’s warm hands find yours, lacing his fingers with yours. You take in a breath and clear your throat. “I’ve thought about it ever since Thanksgiving. How my parents seemed to like you. How you being home with me just felt right. How much I love you. Then my Dad says something about marriage and suddenly it hits me. I don’t want to be married years from now waiting by the door while you're out at a job. Wondering if you're going to make it home. Wondering if one of those fucking monsters got you. You told me yourself how many sorcerers die and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about that because, Ino, I don’t want to be without you. I don’t want to know how it feels to lose you.” Tears were coming steadily now. You look and see that Takuma is crying too, he’s nodding his head as though he understands.
“I didn’t- I never thought about it. Jesus…” He sighs, pulling you into the tightest hug. “I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry, Y/N.” He mumbles into your hair. “I got so caught up in working I never stopped to think about how it would affect you.” He says and you feel that weight lifting from your heart. “I like being a sorcerer, but I love you, of course I’d choose you. I’d choose you anyday, anytime, anyway.” He vows, pulling back, he’s smiling, he’s kissing you. This was all sort of a surprise, you really thought it was selfish to make him choose, thought you’d push him away. “I love you. Fuck sorcery.”
“Ino, are you sure-” He’s kissing the doubt from your lips.
“I’m sure,” he says softly against your lips sending shivers down your spine.
“Marry me then.” You say and Takuma pulls back, a stricken look on his face. You meant it. He’s shaking his head.
“Asshole,” He says and it pulls a surprised laugh from your lips. “I had a whole thing planned.”
“Can we forget what I said then?” You ask and he laughs heartily, pulling you back to his lips, kissing you softly. “There’s one last thing,” You say.
“You want to move back home.” He says, it’s like he read your mind. “I had a feeling when you pretended not to cry on the way back from thanksgiving.”
“I miss my family.” You say, Takuma smiles.
“I know. I’m fine with that, I like it here.” Takuma says. As far as you know Takuma didn’t get along much with his family which is why he was so eager to impress them.
“Are you sure? Because we don’t have to move.”
“I want to, baby. Being here feels right.” You can’t help but smile.
“We don’t have to worry about that now.” You say, wiping your face as Takuma leans and presses his lips against your own for a long moment. Then he’s pressing against you as you pull him down on top of you on the bed. His hand grips the back of your thigh, hiking it up as his core presses against yours. You both make some noises as the kisses get messier, more desperate. Your cold hands slip under his sweater, sliding against the cut of his abs. He shivers under your touch. The building tension growing. Something else has grown, pushing against the inside of your thigh as your hands travel around his back, pulling his weight fully on you. His lips kiss a trail to your neck. His other hand sliding down your stomach to the button of your jeans. Fingers deftly unbuttoning your pants, dipping slowly under the waistband.
There’s a knock on the door that has Takuma’s hand springing out of your pants.
“Hi, honey, just wanted to check on you guys, is everything alright?” You heard your mom from outside the door. Takuma’s head fell on your chest as he sighed, defeated, you bit your lip to keep from laughing too loudly.
“We’re fine, be down in a minute!” You called out as Takuma groaned against you.
“I don’t think I can make it this whole weekend.” He whined as you pushed up off the bed, pulling him with you.
“Don’t you sorcerer's exercise restraint?” You tease as he grabs you by the waist making you yelp slightly, dissolving into laughter.
“You’re really funny,” He says, leaning and pressing his lips against yours. He really can’t keep his hands off you as you two find yourselves falling back into the bed again and again that weekend.

how the jjk boys react to being jealous...ft. itadori, megumi, gojo, nanami, & takuma
authors note: MERRY CHRISTMAS
cw: slightly suggestive, angst, healthy jealousy
wc: 3.6k
Tumblr media
Itadori doesn’t really get jealous much but when he does he’s pouty. He’s late for a date one night and when he opens the door to your favorite restaurant he spots you in the corner. You’re smiling and laughing at something the waiter had said. Itadori felt a pang of jealousy in his chest. He was just about the only one who could make you laugh like that and he didn’t like some random guy trying to take his place. Your eyes meet Itadori and they light up. The waiter looks back, a bit flustered when he spots the sour faced Itadori.
“I’ll get those drinks in for ya.” He says and walks away rather fast. Itadori leans over the table and kisses your cheek as he slides into the booth across from you.
“Sorry I was late,” he starts as you smile.
“Everything okay?” You ask, your infinite kindness speaking. He nods his head.
“Christmas traffic.” He shrugs as you nod your head in understanding.
He obviously didn’t want to say but he was out getting you a present. He didn’t fancy himself good with gift giving but he had an idea late last night and was hunting around for the item all morning. He finally found it then realized he was gonna be late.
“I’m glad I got all that crap done early.” You said as he reached for your hand, pulling your knuckles to his lips to press a kiss. The waiter comes back and sets the drinks down on the table and Itadori can’t hide the look on his face when the waiter smiles down at you. He pouts a bit when you smile back. He knows you’re being polite and he also knows he’s being pouty. He can’t help it. You’re a lot of things Itadori likes. You’re kind and caring, funny and smart. He likes the way you think and your attention to detail. He’s lost a lot of people he loves and lately the way he thinks about them has changed. He’s become over protective but he can’t help it. He can’t lose anyone else.
“Yuji?” Your voice breaks through to him, he was lost in thought. He blinks, clearing his throat. He tells the waiter his order and watches as the man shoots another one last flirty look at you before leaving. You hadn’t even given the waiter the attention he wanted. Instead you were reaching across the table for Itadori’s hands. “You sure you’re okay?” You ask and he gives your hand a gentle squeeze.
“I think the waiter has a crush.” He says and you start to laugh.
“Yeah I noticed that. I’m glad you got here when you did.” You say and he calms. He knows you’re not the type who would cheat, that's not really where his jealousy was stemming from. It was just the fact that he liked being the one to make you happy and didn’t trust strangers. He gives you a soft smile and you cock your head slightly. “Wait…” you trail off and when he looks at you you have a smirk on your lips. “Are you jealous, Yuji?” You ask and Itadori shakes his head.
“I- Of course not! I just- I noticed he was a little smiley that’s all.” He stutters out as you raise a brow, slowly nodding your head.
“Uh huh.” You jest, hiding a giggle behind your hand.
“Okay fine. Yes a little,” he relents as you nod along with his words.
“That’s cute.” You say and he gets up, sliding into your booth. It was all very smooth.
“No I’m not,” he says, pink cheeked as he presses a kiss to your lips.

Megumi is very protective, and gets jealous pretty easily. He doesn’t open up to many people and so when you cracked him wide open with your kindness and patience he didn’t know what to do. He also didn’t know what to do when you became good friends with Todo. That freaked him right out. You two were polar opposites but he’d see you across campus with that giant idiot drinking tea or laughing together. That made him sick to his stomach with jealousy. Nobara and Itadori are sick of hearing about it. They’ve told him time and time again to just ask you out but he couldn’t. He couldn’t just ask you out, it had to be special. He had to know you felt the same, he didn’t want to embarrass you or make things awkward.
So instead he got stuck in a cycle. Of hanging out with you and blushing and crushing and being crushed when he’d see you giggling with Todo the next day.
After about three weeks of this cycle Megumi couldn’t take it anymore. He couldn’t think of you being with someone else. He wanted you so bad it was messing him up inside and out. He saw you across the courtyard one day and suddenly his feet were taking him to you. Todo was first to look up. He gave him a sharp look. Todo didn’t like him very well for stupid reasons Megumi didn’t care to think about anymore. You turned once you saw Todo’s face. Your face lit up, a smile overtaking your lips.
“Fushiguro,” You crooned, “Want to join us?” You asked. Megumi cleared his throat.
“Can we talk?” He asked and your brows raised slightly as you nodded your head. You excused yourself and jogged to catch up with Megumi who had wandered off a few feet away.
“Is everything okay?” You asked as you caught up with him. He had his head down, his hands stuffed inside his pocket, he looked almost nervous.
“Uh yeah, everything’s fine.” He mumbled quickly. He couldn’t look at you, he was so damn nervous. “I just- I was wondering,” he cleared his throat again. “Are you and Todo- uh, together?” For a moment you stared at him, processing his words.
“Together?” You echoed and he finally met your eyes. He was blushing, cheeks rosy red. And that’s when it all clicked together for you. The red cheeks, the hopeful look. You sucked in a breath. “Oh, Fushiguro.” You said and then couldn’t help but let a small laugh escape your lips. He looked tortured. “Are you jealous?” You asked and his eyes widened.
“What- of course not! I was just- I was asking.” He said all in one breath. You smiled up at him, his hair was a mess from him nervously running his hands through it. You reach up and run your fingers through it to smooth it out. He froze under your touch, like a deer in headlights.
“Todo and I are friends. In fact he’s like a brother.” You said but your words did nothing to ease his thumping heart. He was still nervous and the fact there was no romantic connection between you and Todo meant something that made his hands shake slightly.
“Oh, okay- that’s yeah- that’s good.” He stuttered. You smiled at his words.
“That’s good, huh?” You asked with a sly smile. He swallowed as he nodded his head. “Why’s that, Fushiguro?” Seeing him like this was a treat. Megumi was always very put together. Very stoic and calm. But right now you were making a mess of him in this courtyard.
“I just- well,” He scratched at the back of his head. “Todo’s not right for you. That’s why. I was just looking out for you.”
“Looking out for me, huh,” You smirked, you reached for his hands, he was trembling slightly. “That’s awful kind of you.” You say as your warm fingers meet his cold ones. “And what would be right for me?”
“Hmm?” He barely mumbled out, eyes locked to your hands on his.
“You said Todo’s not right for me, so what would be right?” You ask, thumb tracing circles in his palm. You were being very distracting on purpose. You liked Megumi and Todo had recently been coaching you on how to possibly get Megumi to confess. Most of his pointers were very direct so you took a few and decided to be sly.
“You need someone smart,” he starts out, it makes you laugh.
“Todo’s very smart.” You say and Megumi makes a face that makes you giggle. “Alright, so someone smart.”
“Uh huh, and patient,” he adds. You nod. “Someone who’s not a meathead.”
“You sound a bit judgmental, Fushiguro.” You jest, your teasing must’ve calmed the situation down because Megumi looked less nervous. His fingers interlock with yours, shocking you slightly.
“I am judgmental, I want the best for you.” He says and your heart skips a much needed beat. It was your turn to be nervous this time. “Todo’s not the best.“
“Then who is?” You ask and he looks at you with those pretty eyes.
“I am.” He says and something shifts in the air when he steps closer.
“Fushiguro,” you start, as his hand slides against your cheek, fingers brushing your hair behind your ear.
“Don’t you agree?” He asks huskily.
Tumblr media
Gojo is the worst. He’s more jealous than any man you’ve ever known. A waiter will bring your food and smile, Gojo a moment later will say, “Your boyfriend is so nice.” Always stuff like that.
So one day you decide to play into it. Gojo has always been a little jealous of you and Nanami’s friendship. You two met in school, you couldn’t stand Gojo back then, you hung out with Nanami and Haibara.
You got early to a Jujutsu High meeting and instead of saving a seat for Gojo you sat beside Nanami. Gojo got there late and when you turned his eyes met yours and you just gave him a sly wink. After the meeting you hugged Nanami goodbye and walked over to your boyfriend. You could tell he was annoyed, you gave him a smile and a quick kiss on the cheek.
“That meeting ran long.”
“It sure did,” He pouted, following you out to the parking lot. “It would've gone faster if you had saved me a seat.”
“How would that make it go faster, Satoru?” He grabs you by the wrist, pulling you out of the hall and into a dark back room.
“We could’ve slipped away,” he whispers against your neck before pressing a kiss there. “Instead you chose to sit next to stuffy.” He trails kisses up your neck to your lips and presses his body against yours, pinning you to the door.
“That’s not nice.” You say slightly out of breath.
“That’s why I said it,” he mumbles against your lips.

Nanami sat straightening himself at his desk. He took in a deep breath and ran his hands through his hair. The deadline was creeping closer and closer and god dammit he couldn’t get ahead of this thing. He’d been working on this damn project for hours now. He reached up and loosened his tie, nearly taking it off. There's a soft knock on the door and you peek your head in.
“Sir, can I interrupt?” You asked and he looked up, he could feel his stress depleting just at the sight of you.
“Yes, of course.” He waves you in. You shoulder softly inside, a tray in your hands. You give him a soft smile as you set it down on his desk.
“I brought you your favorite sandwich, Sir, and some hot tea.” You say and Nanami can’t help but give you the smallest of smiles.
“You are an angel.” he says, pushing his keyboard out of the way. You go to slip out of his office. “Wait.” He asks, you stop turning back to him. He cuts his sandwich in half. “Have you eaten?” He asks as you glance at the sandwich then back to him, shaking your head. “Sit with me,” He offers. You walk across the room and sit opposite of him. He slides half a sandwich over to you and you smile at him.
“Thank you sir.” You say.
“Please, you can call me Nanami.” He says he's told you this a few times but he is your boss after all. You nodded your head, soft apologizing as you bit into your sandwich.
“Nanami,” There was another knock at the door. Nanami’s boss walked inside as you straightened. “How’s the project going?” He asked, his eagle eyes skimming along the curves of your body before looking at Nanami. Nanami saw the whole thing, saw the clammy uncomfortable look on your face. Nanami didn’t know this but the higher up boss was quite the ass, he constantly hit on you, never remembered your name and also never looked you in the eyes, he was always too busy checking you out.
“It’s going.” Nanami answered shortly. The boss walked a few steps in, cocking his head to the side.
“Take a break there, sweetheart?” He asked you as you went red, instantly embarrassed.
“Y/n, her name is Y/n. And I asked her to since she’s working overtime with me.” Nanami says coolly. The boss raises his brows, looking between the pair.
“Well don’t work her too hard there, Nanami.” He says, winking to you before exiting the room. You turn back but your appetite has gone slightly.
“Does he talk like that to you often?” He asks as you look down at your hands.
“It’s okay,” You say.
“It’s really not.” He says softly. You look up and meet his kind eyes. Usually when you went to HR about things like that you were ignored. You need the money and you liked working here, especially working for Nanami. He had a trusting deposition about him. You swallowed dryly.
“Yes, he talks like that to me all the time. It’s-- it’s not a big deal, I can put up with it.”
“I’ll take care of it.” He says simply, taking a sip of his tea.
“You’ll take care of it?” You ask as he gives you a nod.
“You don’t have to put up with anything, you're not some pretty thing for him to ogle.” He says and meets your eyes. You wonder if Nanami thought you were pretty before your mind realized how silly you were being. You cleared your throat.
“Thank you very much, Sir-- Nanami.” You said.
Nanami did take care of things. In fact you never saw that ignorant boss ever again. You also accidentally ran into him outside of work a few days after the big boss was fired. You waved at him, from across the bar. You didn’t know if it was inappropriate to share a drink outside of work but Nanami waved you over.
“I didn’t want to interrupt,” You said. “I just wanted to thank you for taking my side.”
“You're not interrupting.” He says, his voice warm like cinnamon whiskey in your stomach, something fluttering at the way he looks down at you. “I’m sorry I didn’t notice sooner.”
“You couldn’t have.” You say. “All that matters is he’s gone.” You say and he nods his head, raising a glass to that. You and Nanami spend the entire night talking and when it’s time for the last call he buys you one last drink and you two leave. He walks you back to your house and drapes his jacket over your shoulders, you two talk the entire way there. You get to your door and unlock it, holding it open. “Want to come in, warm up a bit? I could make some coffee?” You ask. Nanami leans on the door, he looks behind you like he is contemplating the pros and cons of coming into your house past midnight. You think for a second he’ll turn you down but then he pushes off the doorframe and nods his head. He brushes past you as you shut the door behind him. You fix him coffee and stay up talking with him until the sun starts to rise. You laugh when he gasps at his watch.
“Fuck,” He groans. “I have to work in forty-five minutes.” He pushes up from the table.
“Oh, shit, I’m so sorry.” You apologize, springing up from the table. “I can give you a ride.”
“You stay home, take the day off.” He says, reaching for his jacket.
“I can’t do that to you.” You say, reaching for your own coat but he catches you by the wrist, the contact shooting through your body.
“I want you to.” He says softly, your eyes locking. You can’t help it, you spent the night trying not to stare at his lips, trying to be very professional but dammit you weren’t perfect. Your eyes dipped to his lips as you cleared your throat.
“Maybe you should take the day off too.” You say and Nanami looks down at you with those searching eyes. You're standing right by the front door, the hallway never felt smaller between the two of you.
“And do what?” He asked, his voice husky. Your throat went dry.
“Well, you're already here so maybe have some breakfast.” You say, taking a half step closer to him.
“Thought you said you couldn’t cook?” He asked teasingly, taking a step closer to you.
“Eggs and bacon are fairly easy.” You whisper and reach across the small space to straighten his tie. His eyes follow your hands.
“It's hard to mess them up.” He whispers back, hands slowly sliding onto your waist, fingers dipping into your hips. You try very hard to hide your smirk.
“I could use some help,” You say, letting your fingers slide off his tie and around the back of his neck.
“Thank god I’m here then.” He says and dips his head down, you tilt your head and your lips meet.
Tumblr media
You rushed forwards, shouldering through hospital doors. You race around the corner and scan the door numbers, searching for thirteen. You spot it at the end of the hall and pick up speed, tears pricking at the sides of your eyes as your hand meets the cold steel of the door handle. You wrench it open, you see Nanami first, he stands, hands in his pockets. You brush right past him and see Takuma. He’s sat up in the bed, awake, despite what the doctors told you on the phone. He has bandages across his torso and two cuts on his face. Fresh tears spring to your eyes as you rush to the bed and he opens his arms for you to fall into.
“I’m sorry,” He mumbles against the top of your head. He knows he scared you, that's why he’s apologizing. You knew nothing about the Jujutsu world, only bits that Takuma had told you, which is few and far between and also just really out of reach to understand. The only thing you did know was that Takuma came from most of his missions badly roughed up. You hated his job, it scared you shitless everytime he was gone and your phone would ring. You knew a lot of those sorcerers didn’t make it home after missions.
You sniffed, as Takuma wiped the tears from your face gently. This happens every time.
“I’m alright, I’m right here.” He spoke softly to you. A sort of mantra that calms you down. You pushed up slightly and pressed a kiss to his lips, your finger tracing a new scar down the side of his face. You turned to Nanami.
“Can we have a moment?” You asked and the blond man nodded his head, leaving the room.
“Honey,”
“Ino, I told you. I told you how much I hated this job of yours.” You start. “Do you know how fucking scared I was driving over here?” You were crying again, Takuma pulled you back into his chest.
“I know,” He sounded so guilty, so apologetic. “I told Nanami to let me call you, so you wouldn’t worry.” He said, kissing the top of your head.
“I hate this. That no good mentor of yours is gonna get you killed.” You grumbled.
“I thought you liked Nanami?” He asked as you pushed up slightly to be able to look at him. “Thought maybe you liked him even more than me.” You scoffed at that but when he didn’t laugh you realized he was a bit jealous.
“Ino, I am your girlfriend, we live together, I’m currently crying on top of you. I love you, not your stuffy mentor.”
“He’s not stuffy.” He says as you press a kiss to his lips.
“He’s not you either.” You say and Takuma can’t help but smile at that. “Is that why you’ve been working so much? Because you think I like Nanami more?”
“Maybe…” Takuma mumbles. Your hand slides against his jaw, running through his hair, fingers playing with the ends.
“That’s really cute, Ino.” You say as he throws an arm around your waist, tossing the blanket over you two. You kick off your shoes as he presses another kiss to the top of your head.
“Sorry, we're spending Christmas night in the hospital.” He says as he grabs the remote, clicking through channels.
“We spent your birthday and thanksgiving here too, it’s like our little tradition.” You say, knowing how macabre that sounded. He shuffled down a bit and pecked a kiss to your lips.
“I’ll get better, baby, I promise.” He promises as you turn to face him in the bed.
“I know you will. I have no doubt about that.” You say with a sure smile.

DAYLIGHT | y. itadori
( this is a part two!!!! click here for part one)
synopsis: you and itadori find your way back to each other in shibuya, and maybe out of it too. authors note: hello :) jjk has been a little emotionally devastating so enjoy this lil fic. fuck canon :) gege needs to hand over yuji because he doesn't know how to treat him right. ps this has a happy ending. cw: ANGST, a bit of gore, fluff, fem reader, massive spoilers for s2 of jjk!, character death wc: 1.8k
--------------------------------------------------------
You followed a blood trail, cursed tool clutched tightly in your hands. There were a few options of where Itadori could be and you preferred that maybe another sorcerer found him, maybe Nanami. It’d be total fiction to think he got up and walked away on his own, he was minutes from death when you left him. Either a sorcerer took him or someone else. You didn’t want to even think about Sukuna taking over his body or whoever had left him there to die came back to take him you weren’t sure. But all these possibilities had your head swimming as you tiptoed around the deserted and torn up section of the mall.
Suddenly the trail of blood stopped, you bent over to get a better look. It was like whoever dragged him here propped him up against the wall for a moment but you weren’t sure where to next. You searched around until you saw a body. It was a young girl, her head had been sliced off at the nose. It was a gnarly and clean cut. Next to her was congealed blood and parts as though something was sliced to bits. Whatever happened here must’ve been straight out of a nightmare.
Even louder commotion started up top as the ground began to shake and the ceiling above you started to crack and lean, dust started falling down over you. This whole place was about to come down. You ran back the way you came and the closer you got to the ground level the louder the destruction sounded.
Walking outside could be a death sentence but you’d run into the fray if you saw even a peak of pink hair. As you rounded a corner and skidded to a stop one final blast sounded that threw you off your feet, crashing back down the stairs you’d just climbed. You rolled to your feet as silence fell over everything. Deathly silence. The kind of silence that could either mean the fighting had paused or someone had won. You limped up the stairs, and pressed your hands to the window.
The destruction meant nothing. It looked like an utter wasteland outside but all you could see was Itadori. He was on his knees near a crater, that must’ve been the outcome of the final blast. You shouldered open the door and limped forwards. The last time you saw him he looked dead, he couldn’t be up and walking fifteen minutes later. So you clutched your cursed tool.
“Yuji?” Your voice broke through the silence. Slowly he turned. He looked hollow, his face pale, eyes haunted, cheeks wet from tears shed. For a moment he didn’t seem to be there and that made you clutch your tool. It chilled you to the bone to think that maybe Sukuna had taken over, that maybe Sukuna still had control. But then recognition dawned in his eyes and a soft cry escaped his lips. Before you knew it you were running to him, your heart had made up the decision before your head could dissuade it. You dropped to your knees and his bloody hands extended and pulled you into him and he held you, shaking like a leaf. He tightened his hold on you and sobbed softly into your hair. You held him tightly, kissing the top of his head. You couldn’t help the tears that formed in your own eyes, hearing the broken sobs from his lips. His hand tangled in your hair.
“I thought about you first,” he said, his voice weak and thin. You pulled back. His hands found your face, he was still shaking, fresh tears forming. “You’re all I thought about.” He cried. You bit your lip.
“Yuji,”
“The destruction, the people dead. I-- I failed. I failed them, I failed you.”
“Yuji, please.” You choke out, grabbing his face.
“I should die.” He says and the shock of his sentence cuts you to the bone. His eyes, unmoving and meaning the words he said. You can’t help but suck in a breath. Shaking your head.
“N-no!” You choke out. “Yuji, don’t-- don’t ever say that!” You say but his eyes fall from yours, he looks utterly defeated. You lift his face gently, making him look at you. “Fuck all of this.” You say, he blinks a few times, processing your words. “Fuck it all. Let’s leave, you-- you and me. Leave all of this behind.” You say. You know it’s stupid, there's no safe place you could go, not while Sukuna still shares a body with Itadori. Tears spill down your cheek.
“We can’t.” He says and you hate hearing it. Why can’t things be normal for you two. Why can’t you live peacefully? Why can’t Itadori have peace?
“I know.” You lamented, shaking your head. “I know.” You repeated, almost like you were trying to convince yourself. But you could think about it.
You two could’ve met at a cafe. Itadori bumping into you, spilling your tea. He would apologize profusely and grab way too many napkins. You’d laugh, you didn’t really care about this shirt anyways.
“It’s alright, really, don’t worry.” You’d say. Itadori scratched at the back of his head.
“I really am sorry, Miss, I should’ve been paying attention.” He’d say and your eyes would meet.
“It’s just a little tea.”
“Let me buy you another.” He’d say and not even wait for you to object.
You’d see the tea spiller on campus a few days later, he’d smile when spotting you.
“Hey! Remember me?”
“How could I not?” You asked, laughing slightly. He’d make you laugh a lot, he was sweet and cute. You two were both heading to the library so you walked together, you sat together and ended up helping each other with some studying. He walked you back to your dorm and you gave him your number. That’s when the texting started. Slowly at first, cute memes here and there, funny tik toks and pictures of Itadori’s dogs from home. You two would get breakfast and lunch and dinner and one night after dinner he was walking you back to your dorm like he always does. You kissed him goodnight and shocked you both. Eyes wide you watched his throat bob.
“Sorry, I- I wanted- was that okay?” You babbled. Itadori looked star struck. When he’d come back down to earth he’d quickly nod his head.
“Of course! Completely fine!” He stuttered out and he was so damned cute.
“We-- we can pretend I didn’t do that,” You start. “If you don’t feel the sa-” Itadori leaned forwards and cut off the ending of your sentence, kissing you abruptly. He gently pressed you against your closed door, hands sliding around your waist.
You wish you could stay in that dream but Itadori reached forwards and kissed you, snapping you out of the thought. The destruction was back, the hurt in your chest. The longing for something better, something quieter ached. It was just a soft press of his lips against yours. He pulled back then pressed his forehead against yours. You closed your eyes and let out a shaky breath.
“We’ll find a way out.” He says. “One day, out of the world of curses and sorcerers. Just you and me.” He whispers.
“Promise?” You ask.
“Promise.” He vowed
Just you and me.
You’d think that in your last moments. You’d think that as you fought some blue haired curse. You’d think that as Nanami and Nobara were killed. As things swirled into a storm of darkness and death. As you were pushed to your limits, giving it your all because you and Itadori were going to make it out. You’d go through hell if you could stay by his side.
Just you and me.
But the blue haired curse would touch you. It was the same way Nanami and Nobara were touched. You looked at Itadori and the expression on his face was something of utter pain and loss. Because no one got away unscathed from this curse. It was going to take everything Itadori loved. You were no exception. You reached for Itadori and smiled at him as everything went black.
Itadori screamed as he bolted upright in bed. You startled awake, blinking rapidly in the dark. Itadori breathed heavily beside you. You're not sure how late it is but the room was slowly being softly lit by the early morning daylight. You reached for the light and flicked it on. His cheeks were wet with tears as he turned and met your eyes.
“Hey, you okay?” You asked. He blinked a few times and then grabbed you and pulled you tightly into his arms. You gasped a laugh, gently hugging back after a moment. “Nightmare?” You ask.
“Uh huh.” Itadori mumbles against your shoulder. You close your eyes.
“What about?”
“I- I don’t remember,” Itadori starts, his voice muffled. “I just felt like I needed to hug you.” He says and that makes you smile. You two fall back in bed together, Itadori holding you as though you were going somewhere. You reach and flick the light back off. Itadori reaches and pulls the covers over you both, pulling you into his warmth.
“Babe?” You ask.
“Hmm?”
“Are we still going to Nobara’s halloween party?”
“It’ll be fun, don’t you think?” He asks as you reach up and run your fingers through his hair, pushing the curls from his forehead. He’s practically purring against you as he kisses anything close to his lips. You giggle as his lips meet your neck.
“I think I’m mostly going for the drinks.” You giggle out as he pulls you on top of him, warm hands dipping under your tank top as you straddle him.
“You're gonna make a cute Barbie.” He says as you roll your eyes in the darkness. He sits up and one of his hands makes its way to your cheek as he pulls you down to his lips and kisses you messily. You laugh against his lips.
“We should really go back to sleep, cowboy, it’s almost morning.” You say but his lips are trailing away from yours, kisses peppered down to your neck and you can’t help but lean against him and sigh contentedly.
“We have some time,” He mumbles against your throat sending chills down your body.
In the daylight morning you and Itadori cook breakfast. It's nice and peaceful. You wondered what dream had made him wake up like that, with tears in his eyes but he claimed to not remember. You guessed it didn’t matter in the end because it was just that, a dream.

MIDNIGHT RAIN | y. itadori
(this is part one! click here for part two)
synopsis: you and itadori part ways in shibuya. authors note: HI! i'm back! back with a fic with probably the best boy to ever exist. hope you enjoy! cw: sfw, angst, fluff, kissing, blood, gore, use of y/n, slight spoilers for s2 wc: 2.9k
--------------------------------------------------------
This was your second mission and honestly you weren’t sure if things could get any worse. Any darker. Any more bleak. The hope that glimmered at the end of this day had long been snuffed out the moment you parted from Itadori. He'd grabbed your hand, pressing a kiss to your knuckles and asked you to stay out of trouble. You promised.
You didn’t make friends very easily, that and not many people ever took the time to try with you. To try and know you. No one. Until Itadori. You were quiet, he was loud. You were cold and he was kind. He was sunshine, you were midnight rain. Like day and night. But you liked him. You liked him a lot. He tried with you. Tried hard to know you, to know things you liked. What you ate at lunch, what you listened to in your room, what shows moved you. He paid attention. In return you did the same. He’d go with you to bookstores, carry your things and make jokes about the dirty books you picked. You’d go with him to the movies, to see a movie about a worm. It wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be.
You two had plans for halloween. Like many others you were going to dress as Barbie and Ken. Itadori’s idea.
Instead you were in Shibuya.
“I told you you’d like it!” Itadori beams as he holds the door open, sunshine momentarily blinding you as you walk onto the sidewalk.
“I grew to care for that worm.” You said and heard Itadori laugh warmly. Itadori had dragged you to his earthworm movie. He jogs up to you and walks on the side closest to the street.
“I’ll have to show you the other movies sometime.” He says with a smile. You snort out a laugh.
“Yeah, I’d like that.” You say.
The mall was deathly silent. You walked through, your cursed tool clutched tightly in your hands.
When you were young you’d come here. Your Mom would drag you to her nail appointments but after she’d give you fifteen dollars to spend at any store. It was worth it in the end.
You’d never seen this place so deserted. It was frightening. You blew out a breath and scanned the dead atmosphere. You were tracking down people that were stuck here, bringing them somewhere safe. Panda and the smoking guy, you didn’t have time to learn his name, were close by, doing the same as you. Walking past a store a t-shirt catches your eye.
Rain poured, soaking you through. Itadori had picked up speed, he reached for your hand and pulled you gently towards the dorms. You two had been sitting in the courtyard and had fallen asleep by accident only to be awakened by the freezing cold rain that had seemingly come out of nowhere. You two slipped inside as he pulled the door shut behind you both. You started laughing, wringing out your drenched hair. Itadori shakes his head like a dog eliciting another laugh out of you.
“Come on, we’ll warm up in my room.” He says, placing a hand on the small of your back to usher you forwards. Friends. Sometimes you have to remind yourself. As much as you hated it you were a hopeless romantic and your mind played up everything, not everything is like the movies. You blushed nevertheless. When you got to his room he unlocked it and let you inside first. You’d never been in his room before this moment. It was clean, a poster of a girl in a bikini hung on the wall. It made you laugh slightly. He followed your eyeline and rushed forwards, ripping it off the wall.
“Sorry.” He says softly, embarrassed as you shake your head.
“It’s fine, Yuji. I have posters on my wall too.”
“Of half naked men?” He jests as you snort, rolling your eyes.
“No. I was trying to make you feel better.” You say as he stuffs the poster in a drawer.
“Let me get you something dry.” He says over his shoulder. The gravity of the moment does not elude you suddenly. He hands you a t-shirt and sweatpants.
“I’ll let you change in peace.” He says politely.
“You- you can just turn around. I’ll be quick.” You say, reaching for the hem of your wet shirt. He whips around and in the mirror you can see how red his face was. You giggle silently and change quickly, hanging your wet clothes over the back of a chair. You look down and smile. It was a spiderman t-shirt, Itadori’s favorite hero. One that reminds you of him. It smelled like him, this whole room did. “Okay, done.” You say as he turns around, you swear you can see his cheeks turn even more red.
“My clothes suit you.” He says, then realizes what he said and buried his head in his hands.
“Thank you.” You say softly.
“You should keep the shirt, it’s one of my favorites.” He says as you bite your lip to keep from smiling too much.
“I wouldn’t want to take your favorite shirt, Yuji.”
“I want you too.” He says and you can tell he means it. You blush, nodding your head. “Here,” Itadori starts, pulling the covers back on his bed. “Hop in, I’ll change and then we can watch a movie or something.” You slide under the covers and face away as Itadori changes. He jumps beside you a moment later, flicking on the tv.
“We could watch spiderman? I’ve never seen it.” You say as Itadori gasps, turning to look at you.
“You’ve never seen spiderman? Like any of them?” He asks as you nod your head.
“None of them.” You say and he doesn’t answer you back, just turns back to the screen and flicks on the first spiderman movie. You both settle in the bed and you pull the covers closer to your body, still pretty cold. Itadori notices, he always notices small things.
“Still cold?” He whispers. You nod your head and Itadori moves closer to you, sliding an arm around you, pulling you against him. He’s like a personal heater, his body warm. You gasp, you had never cuddled with a boy. “Sorry, is this okay?” He asks and you have to nod your head because you're afraid your voice will betray you. He pulls you just slightly closer and lays his chin on the top of your head. You should be nervous. You had a crush on this boy and right now you were in his arms. But you were utterly comfortable, you’d never felt more safe and secure in your entire life.
It was a similar spiderman t-shirt in the window. You blinked a few times and wondered why you were almost in tears. Tonight felt different. You couldn’t stop worrying for everyone. Especially Itadori. You wished you were partnered with him. You were dying to know if everything was going okay with him. If everyone was alright. You just had this sick feeling.
“Miss?” A voice  to your right startles you but your reaction is quick, if it were a curse you would’ve obliterated them. It was a young girl and her mother. You blew out a breath. You didn’t sense any cursed energy near them so you strapped your tool to your belt.
“Are you two okay?” You asked as the little girl looked at you with doe eyes, her mother holding her.
“Are you here to help us?” The mother asks.  You nod your head. “He said you’d be here soon.” She says as she walks forwards.
“Who?”
“A boy, he had pinkish hair. He was heading towards the lower section.” Itadori. Your face lit up.
“He was here not long ago?” You ask and she nods her head. You blow out a breath. Getting the smallest bit of information about Itadori’s well being eased your mind. You escorted the mom and her daughter out of the mall and towards the safe zone where a lot of other survivors were. You remembered your first mission as you headed back into the mall, running the way Itadori had gone.
The curse was too strong for your first mission. You’d almost died. There’s a lot of things that goes through a person's mind in these moments but all you could think about was Itadori. You didn’t grow up with a loving family, you had no friends to go back to, no one that would miss you if you died. Or so you thought. You’d packed your bag, made your way out to the car that would escort you to your first mission. You tossed your bag into the trunk and heard your name being called. You turned to see Itadori running faster than you’d ever seen. He was almost just a blur.
“Yu- oof,” His body slams into yours as he sweeps you off your feet in a bone crushing hug. He spins you around as you giggle.
“I’m sorry!” He says as he sets you down. “I almost overslept.”
“Overslept?” You echo as he nods his head.
“I didn’t want to miss your sendoff to your first official mission,” He says, ruffling your hair. You blush.
“It’s not all that exciting.”
“Yes it is.” He insists. “You’re gonna kill it. Literally.” He says.
“Thanks,” You grin.
Itadori couldn’t have been more wrong about that statement. It only took four minutes and thirty-six seconds for things to go from exciting to detrimental. The curse had overpowered you, sliced you up in many places, you were losing blood but you were still fighting. You’d rounded a corner and pressed against the wall. You couldn’t stand any longer, your legs giving out as you slid to the floor. First mission failed. Your tool was loose in your hands and you heard it clatter out of your hand onto the floor beside you. You pressed your hand to your stomach and felt something sticky and wet, pain striking through you like lightning. You hissed in pain. If you were going to die it wouldn’t be on the floor. You’d die fighting. You pushed to your feet, heavily relying on the wall. You scooped up your cursed tool and staggered out into the hallway where you saw the curse you’d been fighting standing still before falling to its knees, revealing Itadori just behind it. A fucking superhero. You tool clattered onto the floor startling Itadori. His eyes met with yours, his eyes went wide, taking the sight of you in.
“Fucking thank god,” You breathed out. You probably looked like a corpse walking.
“Oh- y/n,” His voice shakes as he runs forwards catching you before you could slam into the ground. He gently sweeps you into his arms, rushing towards the exit.
“I didn’t kill it,” You coughed out, hoping a joke would lighten the moment but when you looked up you could see tears in Itadori’s eyes. You felt shitty for joking.
You woke up days later in Shoko’s office. Itadori was snoring softly beside the bed, your favorite book in his hands. You slowly sat up. Your midriff was bandaged as well as your arms. You pushed to your feet and padded across the room to the bathroom, flicking on the light. There was a bandage on your cheek and a few bruises and small cuts on your face. You walked back into the room just as Itadori stretched, startling at the sight of you walking around.
“Y/n! You should stay in bed!” He insists, springing to his feet, sliding an arm around your waist.
“I feel fine.” You say but he’s pulling you back towards the bed and sitting in it with you. “How long was I out?”
“A couple days,” Itadori says, worried expression on his face. You smile.
“I’m fine. Thanks to you.”
“I should’ve gone with you.”
“It was supposed to be my mission, you weren’t supposed to go.”
“No more missions alone. We’re a pair.” He says, reaching across the space between you both to tuck your hair out of your face.
“You should probably partner with someone who doesn’t get their ass kicked.” You say as he shakes his head.
“I want you. No one else.” He says, sliding his hand against your cheek. “I mean it.” You can’t help but smile.
“If you're sure.”
“Deadly sure.” He insists. The conviction in his eyes was serious. You must’ve scared him. You remembered walking out into the hallway, you were covered in blood, you probably looked half dead. That would be a scary sight for anyone.
“I’m sorry if I scared you.” You say, looking away from him for a moment. This moment felt vulnerable.
“I was scared. That curse was strong and then you walked out…” He trailed off, his hand falling from your cheek to gently twirl around a lock of your hair.
“I feel like a burden,” You say. “You didn’t struggle with that curse at all yet it almost killed me.” Itadori’s eyes go serious.
“You are not a burden. Any person on their first mission would’ve struggled with that curse. It was stronger than predicted.”
“Yeah, but-”
“But nothing. You’re incredible, you’ll see that.” He says, giving you a smile, the first one since you woke up. You nod your head.
“Thank you.” You say.
It’s quiet for a moment. Before Itadori speaks again.
“I thought I was going to lose you.” He says, a haunted look in his eyes. You reached for his hand, lacing your fingers through his. “All that blood.”
“I’m sorry,” You say, biting your lip. He jumps forwards and yanks you into a hug, a softer one this time, he still holds you tightly though, as though you’ll slip through his hands like sand and be carried away by the wind. You rest your chin on his shoulder and hug him back. “I’m fine now. I feel much better.” You whisper. “Thanks to you.”
“I’g go insane if I lost you.” He says. You close your eyes.
“I think I would too.” He pulls back suddenly, you both are so close. His eyes flick to your lips before looking back in your eyes.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Of course,” You say, ignoring the flips and flutters in your stomach.
“Do I have a chance with you?” He asks. It's quiet as you try and understand what he’d just asked you.
“What?”
“You're so smart and cool. I just- I think some moments you might like me back but you’re out of my league and,” Itadori rambles as you hold up your hand.
“Yuji, hold on.” You say, taking a moment to let things simmer in your mind. “You like like me?”
“Love. I love you.” He corrects. Your lips fall open, your brows hiking up.
“Love…?” You say as he nods his head. “Yuji-,”
“It’s alright if you don’t love me back,” He says. “I don’t expect you-” You lean and cut off his words, words you didn’t want to hear. You press your lips to his. A soft kiss, that sends butterflies to your stomach, sparkling confetti behind your eyes. Itadori hums contently, his hands sliding up on your jaw, pulling you closer to him.
You still feel those same butterflies just remembering months later. You rounded a corner and skidded to a stop. The area was a disaster, as though some fight had just happened. Debris was still toppling over, there were large slash marks in the walls. You walked slowly through the disaster, sliding your cursed tool into your palm. Just to the right there was leaking water flooding out of a bathroom and what caught your eye was the striking image of blood mixed with the water. You swallowed and proceeded forwards. Lights flashed inside as you stepped into the puddles, peeking around the corner. Nothing could’ve prepared you for the sight. You understood immediately how Itadori felt when he saw you covered in blood, staggering along through that hallway. You saw his shoes first, the blood pooling around him. He was propped up against the wall, half his shoulder missing, blood covering his face.
“Yuji,” Your own voice sounded foreign as you charged into the bathroom, tears springing to your eyes in an instant as the sprinklers doused you in cold water. He looked dead. Your hands shook. Everything seemed to slow. You two should’ve been dressed in stupid costumes at a stupid halloween party. Should’ve been playing beer pong, you two would win, Itadori was great at that game. He would’ve spun you around so fast after your win, you’d be holding onto the hat on your head laughing. You’d be damned if the boy you loved died. You felt again for a pulse and felt the faintest of ones. Itadori was a fighter. You couldn’t carry him out of here but you could get up to the top and find Shoko. You pressed a kiss to his forehead and ran as fast as you could. You made it back in record time with Shoko in tow but when you skidded into the bathroom, water splashing against your jeans, Itadori was gone. You should've asked him to promise to stay out of trouble.

BEGIN AGAIN | nanami
(this is part two! click here for part one)
synopsis: nanami ruined his wedding for you, now's he just waiting for your call. authors note: as peoples princess brittany broski once said, 'i need him in a way thats concerning to feminism'. enjoy :) cw: cussing, angst, wingman!gojo, making out, fluff wc: 2.4k
--------------------------------------------------------
You sink into your seat at the bar, fingers around a cold glass, the condensation dripping onto your hand. This was your third drink of the night, and you were aiming for a lot more. There were things you were wanting to shove down and forget, if only for the night. But the night was young, the sun hadn’t even begun to set yet, still golden in the sky. Your phone buzzed in your pocket and before you even dared to look at it you took a gulp of your drink. Let it ring and ring before you breathed in and pulled your phone towards your face. Gojo’s contact filled up on the screen. Not exactly who you were wanting to hear from but you answered nevertheless.
“Don’t start.” You said immediately into the speaker. You heard Gojo laugh, it sounded like more of a scoff to you though.
“Shouldn’t have even picked up then.” He joked. You grabbed your drink in preparation for this conversation.
“I texted him, alright.” You sighed out.
“You texted him? Texted. Come on, Y/n. He’s practically in his fifties, he’s not gonna read your text.” Gojo said as you rolled your eyes hard enough to give yourself a headache.
“He read it.”
“And didn’t respond?” Gojo asked. You were quiet.
“I shouldn’t have even texted him. I should’ve just, ya know, let things go. You’re a terrible influence.” You sighed, gulping down the rest of your drink. Gojo laughed this time, like what you said should’ve been obvious. And it was, but when it came to someone you loved you did stupid things. You always did stupid things.
“What did you text?”
“I’m not gossiping with you, Gojo, I’m trying to enjoy my night.”
“Where are you?”
“No, I don’t want company.”
“Okayyyy. What did you text him then?” Gojo asked exasperatedly. You sighed heavily, pulling up the text even though you had reread it over and over and over again for the past few hours.
“I said, ‘I know you probably don’t want to hear this from me but Gojo told me you were getting married. I'm happy for you. Congratulations!’.” There was a silence over the phone that made your patience run thin. “Well?”
“I told you he was getting married so you could stop the whole thing, not congratulate him.” Gojo finally replied as you sucked in a breath.
“I’m not a homewrecker, Satoru.”
“He’s not happy.”
“Has he ever been?”
“Yes! With you!” Gojo argues as you let your head fall against your hand as you rub your temples. This conversation was having the very same effect you had been trying to avoid all day. The inevitability of your past being trudged up. You heard Gojo sigh over the phone. “I don’t want to force you into doing something you don’t want to do, Y/n. I never got the chance to tell someone that I loved them and I never will. I don’t want that for you.” You closed your eyes. Now you just felt selfish, like a kid crying over something trivial.
“You just had to go there.” You said, pulling out your card to pay for the drinks, any hopes of forgetting and moving on seemed to be stopped in their tracks.
“Nanami would be content in never being happy again if he thought it was in your best interest.” Gojo says, his words cutting you right to the bone. You pushed from your seat and walked towards the entrance when you saw the white haired man sitting at a table just outside. He gave you a wave as you rolled your eyes, walking out to him.
“Are you stalking me now?” You asked as Gojo patted the chair next to him with his hand. Reluctantly you sat, slouching slightly.
“You have terrible awareness by the way.”
“Shut up.” You snap, not actually angry. Gojo leans back, crossing his legs as he looks over at you.
“Are you okay?” He asks as you sigh heavily.
“I just want to go home and not have to think about Nanami.” You say and part of you really meant it. You’d been thinking of him since the day you left him. Wondering if you made the right choice. You two were young but you’d never felt anything close to what he made you feel and that scared you.
“Let’s not talk about it then.”
“Gojo, come on, you came all the way out here to play wingman for your friend.”
“You and I used to be friends too.” He points out. You two used to be very close back when you and Nanami were together. You missed that probably just as much as you missed Nanami.
“You’re too cool for me now.” You say and Gojo tilts his head back in laughter.
“Yeah, right.” He laughs. You feel your phone vibrate in your pocket and when you pull it out your heart drops right out of your chest. Gojo reads your expression with ease. “Answer it.” He says as you place your phone down on the table, shaking your head. Gojo sighs, looking at you with his striking eyes. “What’s wrong?” He asks as you swallow, turning to look away from him.
“I already feel like shit for texting him, Satoru. He’s moved on. He’s getting married for christ sake.” At that statement Gojo laughs with his full chest.
“He will never move on and neither will you. You both are stubborn and prideful.” He says as you turn to look at him.
“This is why we’re not friends anymore.” You say as Gojo smiles, slinging an arm around your shoulders. Your phone buzzes one last time and you know it’s because Nanami has left you a voicemail. You push Gojo away and grab your phone, standing up from your chair. Sure enough there’s a single missed call and voicemail from Nanami. You swallow, your throat dry as you pull the phone up to your ear.
“I wanna hear!” Gojo jests as you flip him off. You hear Nanami’s voice, his tone raspy and almost desperate as he speaks.
“I don’t know if you're asleep or not. I know our time zones are different. I just-- I wanted to talk to you. I don’t want to say what I have to say over the phone but I need you to know. I still love you. I’m not ever going to stop. I ruined my wedding, I ruined everything. Just,” He pauses and you can almost hear your own heartbeat. “Please call me back.”
Nanami grips the steering wheel, a car honking behind him. He hadn’t noticed when the light turned green. He pressed his foot on the gas. Nothing felt real, he kept getting lost in times that he wished he’d know again. Times where you were there. He wasn’t far from home and as he kept driving his eyes would dart to his phone, he wanted nothing more in this world than for your contact to pop up on his phone. But it was too late. He’d fucked it all up. You were happy he moved on, you’d told him that and still foolishly he imploded the entire day.
A chance with you was worth it. You were always worth it.
Happiness was fleeting for him. Before he met you he was just going through the motions. You taught him things, taught him to try and enjoy life. The simple things. That working to the grave wasn’t his only option. But he wanted to provide for you, wanted you to never have to worry about anything and when he set his mind to something sometimes he got lost in it. He lost you. He tried to replace you, to fill the hole that you carved in him but nothing fit. Nanami just felt like shit, for finding someone and almost marrying them when he should’ve just been alone. He should just be alone.
“Nanami?” He hadn’t even noticed when he left his car, until he was walking up to his front porch where you sat. Nanami startled slightly, stumbling back a step. He couldn’t believe his eyes. You, with your doe eyes and pink lip, looking at him in a way that twisted his stomach.
“Y/n… What- what’re you doing here?” He asked. He took in the sight of you, your tousled hair looked at though you ran your hands through it a few times. You waved your phone at him.
“I got your message.” You said simply. Nanami swallowed. He wanted to play Mr. Cool Guy but he couldn’t fucking form a single coherent thought right now. The last time he saw you was when you were packing your things to leave him. Nanami reached up, loosening the tie around his neck, sighing.
“I’m sorry, did it ruin your night?” He asked, he watched your eyes, how they took in the sight of him in a suit. The suit he was supposed to be married in.
“Did my text ruin yours?” You asked. Nanami scoffed, amusement on his lips.
“Yes.” He said as your brows shot up slightly.
“I wanted to be supportive.” You say, throat dry. Nanami looked entirely too handsome right now. He was always handsome but something about him in a suit, hair a mess, tie loosened was doing something to your insides.
“I didn’t want your support.” He said, walking forwards slightly. You wondered if you’d misheard his voicemail, if he was angry at you for the text. You sighed.
“You can thank Gojo then, he’s been badgering me all week.” You say as Nanami smirks.
“You too?” He asks as you laugh slightly. The tension easing just a bit. You swallowed, looking up at him.
“Did you really call off your wedding?” You ask. His eyes meet yours, the air turns electric. He nods his head. You couldn’t imagine what shit show he’d just caused. The poor girl he left at the altar. “Jesus.” You say simply. It really only took one text to change the course of his entire life.
“Did you mean what you said in the text? Were you happy for me?” He asks as you swallow.
“Yes and no.” You say. Nanami takes another step forwards, sliding to sit next to you on the porch. You turn to face him, his striking eyes and sharp lines. He looked tired, exhausted even. He reached into the space between you, tucking your hair out of your face. You leaned into that touch, after all you craved it for years.
“I love you.” Nanami says softly, letting it linger in the air. Your heart skips, you suck in a breath. “I’ve loved you since that first night.”
That first night. When you met Nanami you were a mess. You’d been in a shitty on and off relationship with a boy back home. You were waitressing at some diner in the city. You’d just come off your break where the boy you thought you loved told you he wanted to take some more time apart. You had mascara all down your cheeks and when you went to take Nanami’s order he was kind and attentive. He told you that loving someone shouldn’t be this hard, it shouldn’t leave you in such turmoil. You took that to heart because he was right. Loving isn't all easy but it's worth it when it's right. Nanami left you with an extremely generous tip. You thought you wouldn’t see him again but a day or so passed and he was back. He wanted to check in on you. You asked him to get lunch with you on your break and that was that. You ended up kissing him by the end of the day because the moment he checked in on you, someone who was practically a stranger you had fallen for him. Loving Nanami was easy, then it wasn’t, and now you weren’t sure which it would fall under, but you knew you still loved him.
“I was a mess.” You say affectionately as Nanami’s mouth quirks in a smirk, his eyes looking from yours to your lips, lingering there.
“So am I.” He whispers in the space between you two. Desire feels like a kick to the stomach, his voice raspy and wanting.
"We did a lot of wrong back then." You said. Nanami shook his head.
"I did. Not you."
"Nanami, it's not all on you." You start but he kissed you quick.
"I appreciate your apology but I don't accept it. You tried to make it work, you made time when I didn't. I was the asshole, I know that." He says, thumb rubbing against your cheek. "I want you, desperately. I want to make this work, I want to make time." He lists off. You swallowed, fingers gripping the porch so as to not yank Nanami against your lips. But the famine settled for Nanami, the desire for more now that you're here right in front of him. In the flesh. His eyes flick to yours. He couldn’t afford to look at you for this long, as it was entirely difficult to look away once he started. He watched your throat bob. There was so much to unpack, so much to say but there was a universal way to make things known. "Let me show you how much I want this." He breathes out against your lips.
Nanami’s fingers slide into your hair as he brings you against him, taking your lips with his own. A thunderstorm erupted at the action. Your hands grip the front of his dress shirt as you move your lips in time with his. Kissing him felt so natural, like sliding into a comfortable routine. Like no time had passed. Nanami pulls away and sweeps you to your feet, kissing you passionately as he pushes you back against his front door, body caging over yours. You gasp into his mouth, the desire mingling with want making you sick with love. You could talk in the morning. There was always morning. You're not sure when Nanami got the door unlocked but you're dragging him inside as his hand pulls you by the chin, lips enveloping yours as you stumble inside. Things crash in the wake of you and Nanami’s hurricane. Your breaths heavy, practically panting into each other's mouths as he pulls you on top of him on the stairs. His hands travel to your hips, digging into the skin there as your fingers slide up under his shirt. He shivers against your cold fingers. He picked you up then, a startled giggle erupting from your lips as he kissed you quiet, hauling you off to his bedroom. You’d thank Gojo in the morning, his meddling finally did some good.
Nanami pressed you into the soft comforter on his bed, caging your body with his own. He pushed your legs apart with his knee and peppered kisses over your cheek to your jaw and down to your neck. You breath hitched as his trailed his lips back up to your own. You closed your eyes as flashes of Nanami standing on the altar assaulted your thoughts. You hadn't noticed your jealously until now. Wondering what world of hurt you were in for if he had gone through with it. You wrapped your hands around the back of his neck and brought him as close as possible. If you had it your way Nanami would only get married once in his life, and it would be to you.

TALL TALES | usopp
synopsis: usopp comes to drop off letters for you to read and one day you let him inside. authors note: hello. usopp deserves love and attention. cw: fem reader, sfw, fluff wc: 2.6k
--------------------------------------------------------
You lived on the outskirts of Syrup Village in an old house passed down from your grandmother. The village all thought it was haunted but you’ve lived here your whole life and the only thing scary was the occasional mouse that snuck in and squeaked behind the walls. All of this didn't help your image much. Gloomy girl, in a scary house on the outskirts of town. People tend to have their reservations about you.
All of them but one.
A village boy about your age. Usopp. Recently he’d been stopping by your house more frequently after hearing you were staying all alone.
At first you didn’t answer the door when he’d come. To be honest you’d gotten used to the solitude and you weren’t really sure how to be a friend to someone. But Usopp was insistent. He’d come by with food and flowers, he’d bring books for you to read and leave them in your mailbox. He’d write you letters that left you in awe. He’d string together stories of his travels over the oceans. Stories of pirates and monsters and mysteries. To be honest you looked forward to the letters every week. You knew they had to be fiction but liked how outlandish they were.
One day after seeing him walking up your path you took a deep breath, running a quick hand through your hair before opening the door. Usopp, who had been reaching for your mailbox lurched at the suddenness of the door opening and stumbled backwards with a strangled scream.
“Oh, god, I’m sorry!” You apologized, walking onto the stone porch. Usopp stared bug eyed at you as you lent him a hand. “Here, let me help you up.” You say and hesitantly Usopp slides his warm hand into yours and lets you pull him upright. He dusted himself off clearing his throat. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“You didn’t scare me Miss, I just uh- I’m a bit shaky from my last adventure, that’s all.” He covered smoothly. You knew his letters were just stories he made up but you didn’t mind, he wove them with such care.
“Last adventure, huh?” You echoed. Usopp proudly nodded his head, presenting his letter to you. Slowly you grabbed it, holding it delicately in your grasp.
“Chronicled to perfection.” He said as a smirk overtook your lips.
“I wouldn’t expect anything less.” You say, smiling up at him. “Would you like to come in, I can make us tea?” You offer. Usopp’s brows shoot upwards, surprised at your invitation.
“Come… in? Inside the mansion?” He asked, eyes looking behind you down the dark hallway.
“The great Captain Usopp isn’t scared right?” You ask, his eyes slide back to yours, something resolute in his stare.
“Absolutely not, my dear. Lead the way.” He says with bravado. You laugh and turn, leading him inside your house through the winding hallways. A few times you hear him start to jog so he doesn’t lose you through the throng. “It’s windier than I thought.” He says slightly out of breath.
“My grandmother thought that building complex hallways could confuse the ghosts that reside.” You say eerily. It was a lie, it was more because your grandma had an illness near the end that made her forget what she’d already built. You heard Usopp gasp slightly and turned to look at him. But at your attention he puffs up his chest and shoots you a smile. You turn back around and flip the lights on to the kitchen. Usopp stops to look around because leaning a hand on the counter you were standing by, trying to look at ease.
“So… about the ghosts-“
“Oh we don’t talk about them much, Usopp, that gives them power.” You say and the look on his face is priceless. “But,” you start, reaching for a kettle and filling it with water. “Since you asked I wouldn’t want to be rude. There’s four that I know of.” You say, placing the kettle on the stove and flicking on the burner.
“Oh that’s— that’s okay, Miss. I wouldn’t want them to cause you trouble when I leave.” He says quickly as you give him a weary smile.
“They don’t trouble me anymore.” You say cryptically, just then there’s a loud sort of banging sound. Usopp turns white, practically jumping into your arms. Obviously he didn’t know it was your cat jumping off the shelf to the floor. “Captain Usopp, are you alright?” You ask and he clears his throat, moving pointedly away from you.
“Hah yeah- just uh, just excited for that tea of yours.” He covers and you have to turn away so he doesn’t see you laughing.
“Yes, right, we’ll take a seat and I’ll get you something to eat. You must be tired from all the adventuring.”
“If you’d like, you can skip reading my recent letter and I can just tell you?” Usopp asks as you smile to yourself.
“I would love that.” You say. Usopp takes a seat as you hand him a fresh scone you had cooked earlier in the day, sliding tea next to the plate. Usopp clears his throat.
“It was a dark and stormy night,” He starts, putting on a show for you as he munches on the scone and sips on the tea, burning himself the first time. “Rain was pounding against the deck of my great vessel, so hard that it left indents in the wood.” He says as you purse your lips, holding your tea mug in your hands as he speaks. “I lost many men that fateful night.” He says somberly. “The fog and rain was so thick we were able to see a great landmass before we crashed into it.” He makes a crashing sound with his mouth before tearing off another bite of scone to pop into his mouth. “We were stranded! And the worst of all, there was something lurking on that island.” Another loud crash, recognizable to you because your cat often knocked plants from the living room table, but Usopp flew out of his seat. “There! There it is again!” He gasps as you slowly nod your head.
“I think the ghosts like your story.” You answer and Usopp’s dark brown eyes find yours. He looks alarmed but at your obvious calmness he sits back down, maybe reluctantly. His hands are slightly shaking as he sips his tea and you start to feel a little guilty. You invited him in because you liked his letters, you didn’t want to scare him away for good. “Please, continue with your story.” You say and he clears his throat, settling back down in his chair.
“Right- uh where was I…” He squinted his eyes in thought. “Ah! The monster. So, I was the one who discovered the thing. Tall and scabrous, it looked as though the sea had carved it itself.” The story he weaved drew pictures in your mind as you pictured some grotesque creature with seaweed on its body. “But never fear my dear for the great Captain Usopp always has a plan!” He bangs his hand on the table, standing to his feet. “I drew my sword and made quick work of the foul beast!” He makes cutting and slashing motions in the air, it rouses a bubble of giggles from your lips. You hadn’t felt this light in years since your grandma passed. He makes one last slicing motion and gives you a wink. “Sliced the thing up three ways to Sunday. It was no match for, the Captain Usopp.” He says as you bite your lip to keep from smiling too much.
“That’s quite the story!” You say, clapping as he bows for you, slowly sliding back into his chair.
“If you’d like, I can take you on an adventure sometime.” He says as you cock your head with a smile.
“You would?”
“Of course! Every pirate crew needs a pretty lady on board.” You find yourself blushing as you hide it behind a sip of your tea.
“I think the ghost would be mad if I left.” You say jokingly.
“How mad?” He asks, his eyes trailing off to where the crash was earlier.
“Furious, they’d probably leave the mansion to haunt everyone else in town.” You say, biting your lip hard when Usopp’s eyes bug from his face.
“That’s— terrifying. I wouldn’t want to release a plague on the town.” He says in thought.
“Yeah it’s just not worth it.” You say but Usopp purses his lips.
“You are worth it.” He says matter of factly. “They shouldn’t keep you cramped in here your whole life.” He says, raising his voice as he speaks.
“Usopp-“
“You hear me ghosts! You can’t keep this pretty girl locked up forever! I’ll fight you if I have to!!!” He’s yelling towards the living room. There’s another smaller crash, most likely your cat got startled by his loud voice. Usopp vaulted onto the table in fear and you burst out laughing. He looks over at you, puzzled.
“I’m— sorry.” You say in between fits of laughter. Just then your cat comes skirting into the kitchen, hissing at Usopp. Usopp screams falling backwards from the table. You jump to your feet.
“This house!! We have to get you out of here!” Usopp yells as you help him to his feet.
“Usopp, calm down.” You giggle, turning him to face you, his wild eyes meeting yours. “There’s no ghosts! It’s just my cat.”
“But but all the loud bangs-“
“My cat is not as dexterous as other cats.” You say in a soothing tone.
“So— you were pranking me?”
“Yes. I’m sorry if I scared you.” There’s a moment of silence as Usopp takes in all this new information. For a moment you think he might get angry with you. But then his face breaks out into a large smile as he starts laughing almost uncontrollably.
“Wow! You- you got me!” He exclaims, slapping a hand to his leg as you laugh softly. “You had me scared!”
“I scared the Great Captain Usopp?” You say proudly as he nods his head, reaching and tucking a loose strand of your hair behind your ear. The small gesture turns your stomach into a butterfly's playground.
“Let’s keep that between us, hm?” He says huskily as you melt. Usopp’s eyes look over your face for a moment. “You have a really pretty smile, you know?” He asks as you shyly hide it behind your hand. “Not gloomy at all.” He winks as you bite your lip, a small laugh escaping.
“You are pretty brave, Captain Usopp, you’re the first soul to trudge the infamous Syrup Village’s haunted mansion.”
“I can’t be?”
“Not a single villager has stepped foot in here.” You say truthfully as Usopp purses his lips.
“Hm. I have to admit I was scared at first but- I think I like it. It’s cozy.”
“Cozy?” You echo amused as he smirks and looks down at you. You two were standing pretty close as you spoke. He nods his head.
“I met your grandma a few times downtown, she was very sweet, like you.”
“You think I’m sweet?” You ask and he winks.
“Very sweet, and too pretty to be locked away like some stolen princess.” He says as you sigh softly.
“I don’t mind it.”
“I think you do.” He says. “Come with me, let’s sail the seas together.” He says as you furrow your brows slightly.
“And go where? Do you even have a ship?” You ask as Usopp’s mouth falls open, aghast.
“Do I even! Of course the Great Captain Usopp has a ship, my dear!” He says, his hands slipping around your waist to pull you off the ground and spin you around. You giggle as he sets you down. “Come on, I’ll show you!” He says, outstretching his hand to you. You're reluctant at first, this home was solace to you. Out there with the villager and they're prying eyes felt as far from home as anything. But Usopp never stopped visiting you for close to months. He never gave up even when your door remained locked. You took his hand and he smiled warmly, dragging you through your hallways, which you had to help him navigate, and out into the day. The sun high in the sky as you two ran towards the high cliffs, the wind picking up. He stopped just at the top and pointed. Sure enough there was a ship, with large black sails, a pirate skull with a yellow straw hat on its head. It had a goat's head as the mast. There were a few people loading things on the deck. Your mouth fell open.
“Holy shit.” You whispered. Usopp’s hand never left yours as you took a step closer, rubbing your eyes but sure enough it wasn’t some illusion. He really had a ship, or at least was part of a crew that had one. “Your stories… They're all real?” You ask as you turn to him.
“No but-- they can be. I want you to come with me.” He says as your throat goes dry.
“Why me?” You ask and see Usopp actually blush.
“Well… uh because, I think you’d be a great addition to the crew.” He says nervously.
“How so?” You ask curiously.
“You're medically trained to start.” He says as you furrow your brows.
“I handed my grandma meds. I think that may be a far cry.” You say.
“Well you're smart! Yes! Very smart! We already have a navigator but maybe you could help!”
“Usopp, I don’t- I can’t just up and leave.” You say as he turns to face you.
“Why not?” He asks. Truthfully, there wasn’t much holding you here. After your grandma passed you had no other living relatives. All that kept you was,
“I can’t abandon my grandma’s house, not to mention my cat.” You say and Usopp deflates. You reach for his hand. “I’ll miss your stories.” You say and he looks down at you, sadness in his eyes.
“Your cat can come too, and we can ask some villagers to look after the house.”
“I’m not an adventurer like you, Usopp. I like it quiet, I like reading my books and tending to my garden.” You say. Usopp knows he can’t change your mind at that. You reach up and slide your hand onto his cheek, he jolts slightly at this tender touch. Rocking to your tippee toes you press a kiss to his cheek. “I expect to hear all the great travels of Captain Usopp when you return.” You say. He melts, his lips molding into a small smile.
“Promise me you won’t stay cooped up in that house. They’d all love you if they actually got to know you.” He says as you nod your head.
“Okay.” You say, wind picking up. Usopp glances back at the ship. The crew below seemingly were ready for departure. He turns back to you.
“I’m coming back because I’d like to do this again.” He says.
“Do wha-” His hand slides against your cheek as he leans and presses a soft kiss to your lips. You smile against his lips. When you pull back you can’t help but smirk up at him. He’d better come back one day.

PERCEPTIVE | o. dazai
synopsis: you don't smile around dazai and he's been wondering why. authors note: no notes just dazai. cw: suggestive, making out, flirting, fem reader, c*ckblock kunikida (plot device because i suck writing smut lol) wc: 3k
--------------------------------------------------------
Dazai liked causing mischief. He liked keeping people on their toes, and liked annoying his coworkers. You were no exception. When you were hired on as his new assistant the first thing he noticed about you was how you persevered through all his antics.
He’d accidentally spill coffee on important documents but somehow you had copies. He’d be running late to work and expect a verbal lashing from Kunikida but when he’d get there Kunikida would be happily content and unaware of his absence.
You were smarter than you let on.
So Dazai started to test you.
He’d write bad reports and make a mess of his desk and come back an hour later to find everything in tip top shape and the reports written so impeccably that even Kunikida would be impressed. After a few days of this he saw bags under your eyes and knew it was because he was stressing you out. He stopped the tests right then because you seemed like the type to suffer in silence. He felt that was on par with him.
So from then on Dazai started to try and make things easier on you. He’d write good enough reports, keep his desk clean and often buy you lunch. He was searching for one thing in return.
A smile.
You smiled at everybody else and no matter the jokes or things he did for you you were always just very professional. It drove Dazai mad. He didn’t know why he wanted to make you smile so bad. Or why he wanted to hear your laugh. Let alone why he bought you lunch everyday and started trying harder at his job. These questions started popping up in his brain more often now. He’d sit at his desk and steal glances at yours. You were very elegant, that was another thing he noticed. Your handwriting was perfect, the way you ate, no matter what it was you found a neat way to eat it. Your voice was soft and you read at your desk on slow days. Dazai started writing down books that you read so that he could read them and see if he could find some part of you hidden between the lines.
All of this was driving him crazy.
The last straw broke when he saw you talking to Kunikida one day in the breakroom. You were at the table with him, legs crossed, hair in a loose braid. You were smiling and laughing. At Kunikida. Dazai couldn’t comprehend what could be so funny. Let alone Kunikida saying something that could make you laugh like that.
That was the moment it hit him. Like a ton of bricks, sitting at his desk staring across the room at you. It all fell into place like leaves on a fall day. Dazai never thought it could happen, let alone to himself. He loved you. He was sick to his stomach, a love bug infecting his entire person. He’d never felt more stupid in his life. If he saw anyone else acting this way he could figure it out in seconds but since it was happening to him he had just shrugged it off. But he couldn’t do that anymore because he felt physically ill watching Kunikida make you laugh. It wasn’t that he didn’t want you to be happy but goddamnit he wanted to be that cause of happiness sometimes for you.
Dazai let his head fall into his hand, sighing and groaning obnoxiously loud. He literally had a book you were reading last week on his desk, how could he have been so blind?
“Mr. Dazai?” A pleasant voice broke through his melancholia. He slowly raised his head to see you, standing by his desk. Your braid was tucked behind your back, loose strands of hair falling in your face. For some reason his throat closed up. All this thinking had stuttered his ability to speak to you now because now he knew. He knew what you meant to him.
“Hm?” Was all he could muster and he felt pathetic for it.
“Would you like a coffee?” You asked and he knew it was because you had caught him looking fraught. You were so perceptive. Dazai cleared his throat.
“I would,” He says pushing up from his chair, you look at him in confusion.
“Tagging along?” You ask and he nods his head. You lead the way and Dazai can’t help but feel like an idiot. He finally had you alone and he was walking two steps behind you unable to speak. A part of him wished he never figured it out. You slowed your pace so that you two were walking side by side. “Something on your mind, Mr. Dazai?” You asked, tilting your head to catch his eyes. It works and you have him blushing.
“Uh- nono, nothing’s-- just uh- enjoying the weather.” He says, making a show of looking at the sky. You slowly nod your head, obviously unconvinced.
“Uh huh, it’s getting chilly, do you like the fall?” You ask as Dazai clears his throat, pursing his lips. He was being so utterly uncool around you it was making him annoyed.
“It’s preferable to summer, do you like the fall?”
“Yes.” You answer simply. Dazai looks over at you, watches your eyes dance along a tree, the leaves changing with the season. He admires you as you admire the world. You’re so pretty, so interesting he wonders if someone has already noticed that about you, wonders if you already have someone that cares and that you love. It twists his stomach thoroughly. “Mr. Dazai?” God he wanted you to call him Osamu, he wondered how it would sound on your lips.
“Uh yes?” He stutters when he remembers you addressed him.
“Read much?” You ask, there's a slight amusement to your voice that he picks up on immediately. His eyes devour your facial expressions. You were teasing him, which meant you had seen the book on his desk, even when he tried to hide it discreetly under a stack of papers.
“Apparently.” He answers as you turn to face him.
“That’s the third book you’ve read of mine, are you trying to tell me something?” You ask, your lips curving into something close to a smile. He wanted more.
“Just trying to figure you out.” He answers, a slight breeze picking up at his words.
“Have you?”
“Have I what?”
“Figured me out.” You answer, turning to look straight ahead as the sidewalk gets a bit busier. Dazai pushes through to keep close to you.
“You read stories of tragic love. This last one nearly brought a tear to my eyes. Though from what I’ve observed it barely affects you.”
“It’s just a story.” You answer, holding the door to the cafe open for him.
“You don’t get attached to the characters?” He asks as you two stand shoulder to shoulder in a very long line.
“I do. I just can’t cry at work, that might freak some people out.” You say wryly. Dazai chuckles warmly.
“Might I suggest your next read?” He asks as you turn your head to meet his eyes.
“Okay.”
“Maybe something romantic, with less tragedy.”
“I like the dramatics.” You answer with a scuff of a laugh.
“You’re very serious.” Dazai says, watching you raise your brows.
“Yes, is that okay?”
“More than. I need that balance.”
“Oh do you know?” You ask, there’s something in your voice, something in the way you spoke that has Dazai pausing. Unluckily for him your two are next, you put in the order and he follows you to the other side of the counter to wait for your drinks. He watched as you tucked some loose hair behind your ear and smiled gently at the barista as they handed you the drinks. So a barista could get a smile but Dazai couldn’t? You handed him his drink, his fingers brushing yours in the exchange and that’s when he saw it. Just barely after the touch your cheeks pinkened and you slyly looked away from him as you took a sip of your drink. The little moment was so quick that he thought he might’ve dreamt it. You led the way back outside and held the door for him. This time he purposefully brushed against you and this time your cheeks reddened. Dazai hid his smirk behind his cup as he started walking.
“You have a very pretty smile, you know?” He asks, carefully watching how you reacted. It took you a moment to speak.
“I don’t think so.” You answered simply, seemingly cool but Dazai had sniffed a trail and he was going to follow it.
“You don’t?”
“It envelopes my face too much.”
“It’s perfect, it makes your face light up, but how would I know since you never smile around me…” He trails off teasingly. He doesn’t miss the quick glance you give him. As if realizing he noticed something you were keeping hidden.
“Your a menace, Mr. Dazai. What’s to smile about?”
“Call me Osamu.” Your midship as he says it, his voice all saccharine honey. You choke slightly, coughing. “Oh dear, slow sips.”
“Hush. It.” You cough out, clearing your throat. Dazai laughs wholeheartedly. Your eyes find his face, he’s so pretty when he laughs. He squints at you and you look away quickly. Guess he didn’t need those books to figure you out because now he knew all.
“We should go out to dinner tonight.” Dazai says casually, carelessly as though he was speaking of the weather.
“Dinner?” You echo and he looks down at you, nodding his head. “For what purpose?”
“A date.”
“A- date?” You echoed again, he didn’t take his eyes from yours. Again he nodded his head, cocking it slightly.
“That’s what I want, I’m sure it’s what you want to.”
“You’re so sure?” You ask and his lips quirk up in a smirk as he nods his head again. “How so?”
“You don’t smile around me.” He says simply, sipping the rest of his coffee, tossing it in a trash can before slipping his hands in his pocket. You blink.
“Okay… and?”
“And you don’t like your smile, so why would you do it around someone you fancy?” He asks so casually. Your expression drops as he holds the door open to the building the agency is located in. You pause. He caught you red handed. He purses his lips at you. Never once did you think his little sleuthing skills would sus you out. You bit at the inside of your cheek and cursed yourself for not being able to refute it in time because too many seconds had passed. You sigh, pushing past him.
“You're annoyingly perceptive.” You say. Dazai laughs at that as you reach and press the button to the elevator. Part of you wishes you can slip on and close the doors real quick before he can but when the doors open, you're too in your head and Dazai strolls on before you can do anything. Dejectedly you walk in too and stand on the opposite side far from him as the doors slide closed. You can feel the weight of his eyes on you, you sip your cold coffee, not enough to ease the heat under your skin. “Stop looking at me.” You whisper as though someone other than Dazai could’ve possibly heard you.
“Something wrong?” He asks and you can hear the smirk in his voice. It made you miss the moments where he seemed like the nervous one. “You’re extremely red.”
“Shut up.”
“Like the actual shade of maroon.”
“Go to hell.” You snap.
But why would he be nervous around you if not for… oh. Gaining just the smallest bit of control over the situation you remembered what it meant to see he was reading something you were reading for the first time. Or catching him staring at you across the room multiple times over the day. Him buying you lunch and snapping at Atsushi when he lingered by your desk too long. The door to the elevator slid open and you turned to him, motioning him first.
“Such a lady.” He says, walking out first, you follow. But Dazai stops, blocking the door. “We have work to do, you know?” You sigh but he just leans in and presses a soft kiss against your lips. You let out a little gasp, your coffee splashing onto your hand. You raise your hand to push him away but you feel the warmth of his own eclipse the side of your face, stirring up something in the pit of your stomach. His fingers barely slide into your hair, surely messing up your braid but you can’t find it in you to be annoyed because he’s kissing you so expertly. Walking you back until you're pressed up against the wall just by the detective agency door and pressing himself against you. You let out a small noise that he devours. When he pulls back for a breath you speak.
“Osamu, I-” He’s back on you in seconds. Hearing his name on your pink swollen lips, your voice slightly hoarse and out of breath, he could’ve devoured you whole right there in that moment. Suddenly there’s a click, the door to the agency being pulled open. You shove Dazai off of you and turn away from whoever was walking out. Your cheeks and hair are surely a mess.
“Ah Dazai, of course I’d find you out here slacking off.” Kunikida says disapprovingly, his eyes turning to you. “And keeping Ms. L/n from her duties, shameful.” He says walking further into the hallway. You clear your throat, brushing your fingers through your hair. Kunikida looks at you.
“Ms. L/n? Are you feeling well? Do you need something?” Kunikida asks.
“Nothing I can’t provide her.” Dazai replies, making your cheeks go even redder.
“What? Dazai, she looks hot.”
“Yes,” He agrees. “Very hot.”
“Quite messing around!” Kunikida growls.
“I’m fine. Really, just gonna get back to work.” You say, pushing past Dazai back into the agency. You practically run to your desk, burying yourself in your work. Everybody else had left for the day, you just needed to finish one report then you could leave too. Dazai walks in a moment later and stroll to your desk. “Leave me alone.”
“We should talk about what just happened.” Dazai says as you refuse to look up at him, fuming.
“Nothing happened, I don’t know what you're talking about.” You answer stubbornly.
“Oh really?” He’s quick, deft fingers sliding under your chin to tilt it up. “Let me jog your memory.” He purrs just before leaning and meeting your lips with his own.You didn’t expect the kiss but that didn’t mean it wasn’t waiting there hungrily between you both for months and months. You didn’t expect his hands, covered in scars, to feel so soft against your face. But you had wanted and needed this so badly your eyes practically pleading every moment you looked at him. The world turned around you as you slowly rose to your feet, Dazai pulling you onto the top of your desk until he was standing between your knees. The grasp you had held onto so tightly was loosening. Your lips parted in a gasp and Dazai, with a growl of barely contained want. And he kissed you deeper and harder. Pressing you back against the desk, things knocking off left and right. Your lips parted in invitation and Dazai was never one to leave an opportunity unexplored. Every part of him was pressing against you, he wanted to make this special, make every touch one that you would crave and remember. He wanted you to be reading your silly books of tragedy in your desk chair and think about this moment. Your hands slipped into his hair, tugging slightly.
“Oh- my god!” Kunikida exclaimed from the door. This was like a bucket of cold water to the moment completely. Dazai pushed up slightly, shooting a glare at Kunikida. “And to think I was worried you were sick.” Kunikida sighs, looking horrified. You pushed Dazai off you, getting to your feet. You didn’t talk as you picked up things you two knocked over onto the ground. Dazai leaned and grabbed the last thing, handing it to you, you grabbed it, your fingers brushing over his. It sent a chill down your spine. You grabbed your bag and looked at your feet as you left, too embarrassed to look Kunikida in the eyes. You rode the elevator alone and when it stopped at the ground floor you slipped out into the cold, inhaling a deep deep breath, leaning against the cold brick. The door pushed open behind you.
“There you are.” Dazai says, walking and slinging your jacket over your shoulder. “Come on, I’ll give you a ride home.” You shook your head.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea after everything. I mean,” You sighed. “I’m probably gonna get fired anyways but-”
“No one’s firing anyone.” Dazai says as you bite your lip.
“There’s no way he won’t tell Fukuzawa.” You say as Dazai cocks his head, his brown hair falling into his eyes.
“There is a way and I already took care of it.” He shrugs as you look up at him.
“How?”
“That’s a secret.” He says, slowly sliding his arm over your shoulders. “Come on, I’m not letting you walk, it’s too cold.”
“I like the cold.” You say, knowing if you got in that car he’d probably have you in his lap in seconds. It seems any hope of control has now been squandered. If you couldn’t control yourself in the office, his car, with dark windows and a long ride home, was going to prove to be a challenge.
“Do you really?” He asks with a smirk.
“You better be a gentleman.” You say with a sigh, letting him lead you to his car.
“I’ll be as gentle as you want, love.” He says and you can’t help it, after being caught red handed you start laughing, rolling your eyes.
“You’re the worst.” You smile as he leans and presses a kiss to your lips.

YOU'RE IN THE WIND | v. sanji
(this is part two, click here for part one)
synopsis: you try to give sanji the slip. authors note: hi :) sorry this took so long!! this part was inspired by chemtrails over the country club by mother lana del rey cw: angst, fluff, daddy issues wc: 3.5k
--------------------------------------------------------
From your birth you were taught to observe. To see things and hear things. Things that you could carry back to your father, things he could use as blackmail. You were always quiet because you were told to be seen and not heard. Your father, if you could even call him that anymore, was a villain to say the least. He brought you up to be cruel. To make judgments after your sword impales their stomach. To never trust a soul but him. To sleep with one eye open at all times. Those things were so deeply ingrained into you they might as well be who you are. To strike first and ask questions last.
But now…
Now you were lost.
The identity you thought you knew, the one that your father forced upon you was in pieces, scattered pieces in your soul. Who were you if not the cruel pirate daughter of Don Krieg. Who were you if not the one by his side?
Who were you?
After the battle at Baratie where your father left you for dead you were swept into a new crew. The strawhats they called themselves. You didn’t bother learning their names because you were leaving them the moment they docked. They had their minds set on adventure. But yours… yours was on revenge. You were going to be the one to kill the fierce pirate Don Krieg. Your life was his for so many years, he turned you into a weapon. He ruined you. You’d like to repay him for all of it.
The only name you did know of the Strawhat’s was Sanji’s. The one who had saved you, who pulled you out of the ocean, fed you and gave you water. Who stood by your side against your father and even nursed you back to health after your father tried to kill you. Sanji was a good person. A kind person. The first and only person you had ever met that you considered special to you. Sanji was all heart. He told you jokes and fixed you food. He danced you around up on the deck in the moonlight when nightmares awoke you from your sleep. In your nightmares your father, instead of getting ahold of you, got ahold of Sanji. Those were the worst ones.
He was someone you felt very close to. Someone, despite all your training, you wished to fully trust. That’s why you’d do him the kindness of disappearing when the ship docked. Inevitably your father would get word that you survived. That would drive him back to you. To your waiting sword. And you needed no one else getting caught up in that, especially Sanji. You’d kill for him.
“You feeling okay, love?” Sanji’s voice drove you out of your thoughts. You were sitting in your usual place, quietly watching Sanji cook. He was skilled, watching him cook felt like a magic show. Your eyes glanced up to his as you nodded your head. “Deep in thought then?” He asks as his knife slides quickly through an onion dicing it up.
“How’d you get so good at cooking?” You ask and the smile on Sanji’s face was bright. He loved when you asked him things, or just loved when you were around in general.
“It’s quite easy actually.” He says bashfully and you shake your head.
“You might make it look easy but I've tried before, it’s exhausting.” You say as Sanji cocks his head.
“You must’ve had a shit teacher then. Here, come here darling.” He asks, as you push up from your seat, walking across the wooden floor to him. He pulls you close to him. He gathers the diced onions on the edge of his knife and drops it into a pan, turning on the heat. He then grabs something bulbous and sets in on the cutting board. “You know what this is?” He asks as you shake your head. “It’s garlic. So we're going to remove two cloves like this,” He breaks off two round triangular pieces of garlic and sets the rest of the garlic to the side. “Alright, now here’s my knife, I know you know how to use this.” He winks and you scoff out a laugh. “Take the flat side of the knife and place it on top of the clove.” He says as you do as told, looking up at him for confirmation. He gives you a smile. “Good, now make a fist.”
“A fist?” You echo and he nods his head. You clench your hand and hold it up. He takes your hand gently by the wrist and places it on top of the knife.
“Now give it a good thwack, but not too hard.” He says as you hit the knife, the garlic crushing slightly beneath the blade. “Perfect, now the skin should come off easily.” He grabs the cloves and pulls off the skin, tossing it aside. “Okay, love, hold the clove like this and dice with your other hand.”
“Like this?” You ask as you chop down, his hand slides onto your shoulder giving it a soft squeeze.
“You’re a natural.” He winks as you roll your eyes, chopping up the next clove. He tosses the pieces into a pan as it simmers. You vault onto the top of the counter, sitting out of his way as you watch him stir the contents of the pan, flipping it with a flourish. “Are you sure you're feeling okay, you’ve been kind of quiet all day?” He asks as you give him a look, smirking slightly.
“As opposed to?” You ask because you're always quiet.
“I don’t know,” He laughs, his blond hair falling in his eyes. “You’re not nervous about going to Loguetown are you?” You looked away from him to your hands. No you weren’t nervous about Loguetown and you knew what he meant. He was asking more along the lines of are you nervous your father might find out you're still alive and in Loguetown. You shake your head.
“No.” You answer simply, he looks up from his pan, you can feel his eyes on you but you remain looking down.
“Love,” He says softly, stepping closer to you. Your eyes find his, his gray blue eyes. “You can tell me anything, you know.” You clench your jaw. You couldn’t tell him this. You couldn’t drag him into the dark. You nodded your head.
“I’m fine, really.” You answer but your voice is unconvincing and you look guilty. But Sanji doesn’t force you to open up, that was one of the many things you liked about him. He grabs your hand, kissing your knuckles as you blush, pulling your hand away from him.
“Such a flirt.” You say, pushing off the counter.
“With you, always.” He counters with a warm laugh.
You roamed the deck as night began to set in. The rest of the crew was inside, settling down for bed, but not you, no you leaned on a bannister overlooking the sea. It didn’t make you sick anymore to look at it after almost dying months ago. The sounds calmed you, the moon glinting on the waves beautifully.  You breathed in the salty air.
“Hello beautiful.” Sanji said to you left, you turned slightly as he walked up the stairs to stand by you. You gave him a smallish sort of smile as he settled beside you, leaning on the bannister. He smelled like wine and something vanilla. It was nice. “Nice night, huh?” He asks as he reaches in his pocket pulling out a cigarette, lighting it then taking a puff.
“I met a man once that smoked a lot.” You said, remembering a burly man with white hair. “He did not like my father.” You recalled as Sanji looked over at you with a sort of ‘who did?’ face. You laughed slightly, taking the cigarette from his lips, pulling it to yours, taking a puff, blowing the smoke into the night air. He watched you in rapt attention. He’d never met someone like you. He was jealous of others that made you smile or laugh. He wanted to be the cause of your happiness. Once Usopp had made you snort and Sanji shot daggers at him the rest of the day. You handed him the cigarette back, yes peering at soft lights in the distance.
Loguetown.
A part of you felt something clench your chest, a deep sadness knowing this would be the last time you saw the first person you could ever consider a friend. Sanji stamps out the bud of his cigarette.
“Come on, I’ll brew you some tea, maybe it’ll help you sleep.” He says, a hand sliding around your back. You let him lead you to the kitchen. You recall when he first found you on that little boat, starved and dehydrated. How he swept you into a kitchen much larger than this one and saved your life. You stopped, a guilty twist in your stomach. Sanji stopped, turning to face you. He read your face in seconds. “What’s wrong, love?” He asks. You clench your jaw, shaking your head. If you told him he’d want to come with you. He’d want to fight with you. He’d die for you. That’s the last damn thing you wanted. You forced a reassuring smile, one that was convincing enough.
“Nothing, just curious about the tea,” you started walking again. You could tell he wasn’t convinced but you just kept walking. “Do you have some special pirate blend that will knock me out?” You ask and when Sanji doesn’t answer you turn to face him. He’s got this look on his face, like he knows something. “Sanji?”
“You’re leaving aren’t you?” He asks and it’s like a cold bucket of water is doused on you. You part your lips to lie but you can’t force yourself to do it any longer. You swallow and nod your head resolutely. “Love, I can’t let you go after him.”
“You can’t make me stay, Sanji.” You say and he takes a step closer to you.
“Then I will come with you-“
“No.” You interrupted, your voice strong. “I’m going alone.”
“To do what? To kill him?” He asks as you stare at him.
“Yes.”
“Why does it have to be you?”
“Because he’s my family.”
“He’s no family of yours.”
“I want revenge, Sanji. He ruined me!” You argue, getting a little angry.
“You’re not ruined! Don’t let him drag you into the dark, he almost killed you once already.” Sanji points out, he was frustrated.
“I know that!” You growl. You sigh, turning away from him. “I’m leaving when we dock.” You say and start to walk away but Sanji catches your wrist and you hate how quickly you respond. A hidden knife on your hip slides like magic to your hand and you're pressing him against the wall. It was all ingrained in you. You weren’t made to be someone’s friend. Or someone’s something more. Your breath catches and you feel sick but Sanji doesn’t look scared or angry with you. You pull away from him and toss the knife where it sticks in the table. He catches you before you can leave and pulls you against him in a tight hug. You froze. You’d never been hugged before and something in you cracked. Your face flushed as a single tear slid down your cheek. You slowly wrap your arms around him. He brushes the back of your hair softly, pulling back slightly but still holding you in his arms.
“Either you stay or I go with you.”
“Sanji please,“ Sanji just tightens his arms around you, there’s a slight shake in the way he holds you as though he was afraid of losing you. You give in to his touch and sigh. Nothing changed, if anything this solidified your need to leave. As long as you were alive and your father knew about it Sanji was in trouble. You were more stubborn than him. “Okay,” you intone. “I’ll stay.” You lie.
Lougetown was busy. It’s pale lined streets with white pavements and buildings all blending together. You stayed mostly in the shadows afraid someone would recognize you because after all sure you were Don Krieg’s daughter but that wasn’t all. You did things for him that made you sick. You plundered and stole and killed and hurt people the same as him. Someone was bound to notice you even with the hooded cloak Zoro had supplied you. You pulled it closer over your face as you followed Sanji, his hand occasionally brushing yours.
“Don’t you wanna enjoy the sun, love?” Sanji asks as you shoot him a glare. He raised his hands in defense, laughing slightly. “You do know you're a part of the strawhats now right? If Your father comes after you he’ll have to get through us.” Sanji says as you clench your teeth. That’s the last fucking thing you wanted.
“Is there a reason we’re wandering around aimlessly?” You ask, shooting a glare at some man who was eyeing you.
“We’re relaxing, is there something you wanted to do?” Sanji asked as you tensed up. You wanted to give him the slip but that definitely wasn’t something you could say. When you opened your mouth to speak, someone caught your eye. A tall woman flanked by two smaller men. Your hand discreetly grabbed the knife at your hip because you’ve seen how people looked at your father and this lady was looking at Sanji like she wanted to kill him. Noticing your mood change Sanji looked at you. “Something the matter, Love?” He asked.
“Sanji of the Baratie!” The ladies voice carries over to you two. “I have been waiting my whole life for this moment.” She says finally garnering Sanji’s attention. A pretty lady talked and Sanji lost his wits. Sanji swept through the crowd and gently grasped the ladies hand, kissing her knuckles. Your not sure why exactly but your stomach twists, irritation seizing your bones. As you watched them talk, Sanji overtly flirting, you realized then that he would be just fine without. He was so enthralled that he didn’t notice you take a step back and sink into the shadows. Your heart felt sick as you released your grip on your knife. You pulled the hood down some more and slinked back towards the port. The anger you felt melted into something worse as you realized it was the attention he paid the woman but it wasn’t like you two were in love or something. These feelings were obviously something else, something far less magical and you knew they’d simmer with time. Or at least you hoped they did. Sticking to the shadows you smelled the salty sea, the ocean waves crashing nearby. You ran to the dock, glancing back but no one had followed you thankfully. When you turned back a green haired swordsman stepped in your path. You gasped, eyes wide as you faltered a step back.
“Zoro,” you breathed. He looked at you and raised a brow.
“Going somewhere?” He asked, his arms crossed against his chest. You had already been caught, what's the point in lying.
“I’m leaving, I think you know why.”
“Leaving without saying goodbye? You’ll break that cook's heart.”
“His heart will be fine, trust me.” You grumbled, rolling your eyes.
“Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care about that stupid cook but if he’s all mopey over you his cooking will be shit.” Zoro said as you sighed.
“He’ll be fine.” You insisted.
“If you leave he won’t be.”
“And why’s that?” You remark snidely.
“Because he loves you, it’s obvious.” Zoro says. You blink. Love? No, no he doesn’t love you. He probably pitied you, saved you and felt he had to keep staying by your side.
“Move or I’ll move you.”
“You know I like your spirit, if you go I wouldn’t have anyone to spar with anymore.” Zoro says as your hand slips to your knife. You wouldn’t win against Zoro that was certain but you could escape him. He noticed your shift, a little slight movement to read your thoughts and he pointedly stepped out of your way. You let go of your knife and walk past him.
“Your crew is… you all are good people.” You say as Zoro nods his head.
“Then find your way back to us.” He says and your heart bursts at that, you turn to watch him walk off. You assumed if you left they’d never want to see you again. Clearly you were wrong. You hoped Sanji could forgive you one day if you could make it back to him as you tossed a few coins to a pirate and loaded onto his boat. Time suspended as you walked onto the wooden deck, the waves crashing against the side of the boat as the crew pulled up the anchor and set off from the dock. You walked to the railing, staring out at the vast sea. Your father was out there somewhere, probably causing havoc. You leaned down and placed your head in your hands, breathing out and in the salty air.
“Y/n!” His voice carried over the wind to your ship. You were about thirty feet from the dock now as you turned. Sanji was running down a wooden dock, his blond hair sweeping back from his red cheeks, some strands sticking to the sweat on his forehead. You turned to face him. “Y/n!” He called again, the pain in his voice palpable. Your throat constricted as his shape slowly grew smaller and smaller as the distance grew between you. “Please!” He was saying something else but you couldn’t hear him. Something wet splashed on the top of your hand as you realized you were crying. His voice wasn’t carrying over to you anymore and the fact that you couldn’t hear him any longer seized your heart up in your chest. Everything about being on this ship felt wrong, leaving Sanji and the strawhats felt wrong. You remembered Sanji’s words from the night before, how he believed you weren’t past saving, that you weren’t ruined. To not let your father drag you down anymore. All of this seemed so futile now. Leaving the only people who ever treated you like a person. With tears on you turned towards the captain.
“Turn this ship around.” You demanded and he looked at you with meek interest, shaking his head.
“This isn’t a taxi service, woman, we’re leaving whether you like it or not-” His voice cut off as you pressed your knife to his neck.
“Turn around.” You demanded and he conceded.
Sanji waited for you back on the dock, you slipped back off the boat and the moment your feet hit the wood Sanji was pulling you into a tight grip, his hand tangling in your hair on the back of your head as he held you. You melted into the hug, instantly hugging back.
“When I turned and you were gone- I swear,” His voice faltered, choked with emotion. You closed your eyes, listening to his erratic heartbeat in his chest.
“I’m sorry. I was being stupid.” You say muffed into his chest. He presses a kiss to the top of your head before resting his chin there.
“No you weren’t.” He coos. You two stay like that for sometime. “Love?” He intones.
“Hm?”
“I have to tell you something.” He says as you pull back just barely enough to meet his eyes. The way he looked at you made your knees go weak. He smiled just barely, it met his eyes. He leaned and pressed a kiss to your forehead, your eyes falling closed. He kissed your temple then your cheek and then his lips met yours. He was kissing you now and you're not sure either of you could stop at this very moment. That was until your lungs felt like fire.
“Sanji,” You demurred out of breath. He hummed in response.
“I love you, Y/n. If you want to go I want to be by your side.” He whispers. Your breathing stutters.
“Sanji,” You sighed. “You love so many girls.”
“Not love, that is reserved for you and you only.”
“But you’ll flirt.” You quip as he smirks at you.
“I wanted to make you jealous, old habits die hard.” He says and you roll your eyes. His finger slides beneath your chin as he guides your eyes back up to his and he’s leaning in for another kiss, this one lasting longer than the first. “Say I can come with you.” He murmurs against your flushed lips.
“I’ll stay.” You say, not wanting to set off without the strawhats.
“You mean it.”
“I promise.” And you meant it. Sanji smiles against your lips, pressing another kiss to them before taking your hand.
“Come on then, you still never told me what you wanted to do in this town?”
