“Bucky, sit still!” You giggle as he moves for the hundredth time, trying one way or another to have his hands on you.

You sit on the sofa, Bucky between your legs on the floor. Your hands are tangled in his hair, midway through a plait as he turns his head to look behind his shoulder, his pink lips pulled into a little pout. You laugh again at his expression and gently turn his head away from you again and finish your handiwork. A few minutes go by in near silence, the only sounds being you carefully plaiting Bucky’s hair and the sound of fabric as his thumb gently strokes your calf as he holds on to it.

You tie the ends in a little black band and smile proudly as you situate yourself on his lap and bring the pigtails forward so the tips bush against the front of his shoulders. Bucky leans in, his lips pressing against yours as a silent thanks.

“My gorgeous girl is so talented.” He murmurs, his lips millimetres away from yours.

You smile and roll your eyes, trying to hide the way your cheeks heated up from the compliment.

......

You've always loved doing Bucky's hair, and you know he loves it too. It's become an everyday -and night- thing the two of you love to divulge in, ever since you first saw him struggling with it all those years ago...

It's not unusual for Bucky to come at you at odd timings, needing the familiar feeling of your hands woven between the strands of his oh-so-soft hair. Midway through cooking, or even in the middle of the night. It's his sense of comfort after yet another nightmare left him shaken and scared. You run your fingers through his sweaty hair as his breathing regulates back to normal and he soon falls asleep again to your touch.

He would never admit it, but you know he has a little Pinterest board with different hairstyles he wants you to try. You found it suspicious after he came to you, asking for 'fishtail braid' and laughed at his pouty expression when you said his hair was too short for it. In the end, he opted for just brushing his hair.

......

A few days go by, nothing seemingly out of the ordinary. You're working with your laptop on your bed when there's a knock on the door. You smile, knowing it's probably Bucky, and immediately go to answer.

"Hey ba-" you're silenced when you take in what's in front of you. Bucky. With his hair... short? Without actively realising, your eyes widen and your mouth falls open, which Bucky mistook for you hating it.

"I know. You hate it." His lips are pulled into a thin line, his cheeks a little red.

You immediately spring your defence. "Baby, no! I love it, Buck. I was just shocked!" You laugh. "It looks amazing."

And you weren't lying. It did, neatly cropped but not too short, somehow a little darker, a similar style to the pictures of him you saw in the 40s.

"But you won't be able to play with it anymore..."

"Nonsense, baby, c'mere!" You immediately grab his hand and lead him to the bed, settling down so he can lay on your chest, his arm wrapped around your waist, tightly. Your fingers reach up to his scalp and make there way through his new hair for the first time, a little stiff because of the gel, but otherwise, it just felt like home.

Bucky murmured a little 'thank you' as his nerves calmed. His breathing grew steady as he realised you weren't mad. Eventually, the two of you fell into silence and Bucky's eyes closed as his cheek pressed against you. You followed soon after, you hand still tangled in his hair, where it'll stay all night.

I think it started off strong but the ending was just a little, 'meh', i'm sorryyy

Bucky's baby girl who loves his metal arm.

She runs hot just like her daddy, the serum also coursing through her keeping her extra warm. She's all fussy until Bucky cradles her in his left arm and the content sigh she lets out feeling his cool metal against her warm, chubby cheek is unmatched.

It's also perfect when she starts teething. No other toys do it like daddy's thumb. She's happily tucked in the crook of his arm, two tiny hands holding onto his much larger one so she can get a proper grip and chew on his fingers. The coldness soothes her gums.

Bucky's babygirl who only falls asleep when he holds her. It's not that she doesn't fall asleep with her mommy, but she's clearly picked up this habit directly from you. Her daddy's chest is her favourite place to be and you can't complain because you feel the exact same way. There's nothing cuter than her little gummy smile while sleeping contently on daddy's chest, his metal fingers rubbing her back in soothing circles. She practically gets lost in him when he holds her, such a tiny bundle wrapped up around metal and muscle. Of course he gives you the exact same treatment after she's around asleep in her crib and you're also softly snoring moments later.

(Just a rogue thought but imagine Bucky doesn't get the playful pout you make whenever his daughter whines to cuddle up with him, taking away from his snuggle time from you. He so very clearly has time for you both. Then you have a son. The places have been switched as he watches his babyboy coo and giggle in your arms between nursing and Bucky isn't jealous of his own son but he 100% ready for his turn to be in your lap with your boobs in his face. When his son only sleeps on mommy's warm chest with all the skin to skin contact, he's side eyeing you with his shirt off, ready for cuddles immediately after. He's a menace and it's the cutest thing)

It's gonna be such a funny mess when Donald Trump dies of a stroke on April 1st, 2024.

Naturally everybody will think it's fake because of the date only to lose their minds (both positively and negatively based on their opinion of trump) when realizing it's real

There will be massive celebrations in the streets and on social media and lots of predictable "don't speak ill of the dead" discourse about those celebrations

Weird evangelicals will pull some weird number trick talking about how Jesus was conceived on April 1st and that makes Trump a sort of messiah and people will make fun of that

The Republicans (after they're done with the faux-sadness and faux-outrage) will stomp over each other to be his successor but none of them will succeed. They'll tear each other apart and have no single nominee for the November elections.

There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)

The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.

Ten thousand new memes are made, some sticking around for years to come.

Not a month later a bunch of unofficial biographies of Trump hit the bookshelves, many with new details about just how awful he was.
