I'm fully convinced that like 90% of the differences in how Kaz and Matthias turned out are just because Matthias was the oldest child and Kaz was the youngest. Both of them were totally normal kids with loving parents, but when they lose their families at a young age, oldest child Matthias joins a military organization with a clear set of rules and hierarchy, meanwhile the second youngest sibling Kaz realizes no one will look after him he decides his only option is to completely throw his morals out the window and start committing violent crime. That's literally it.

Imagine if Lucy got a case of ghost touch and the boys don't have any adrenaline and can't get her out quickly so they all think Lucy is going to die. So Lucy asks Lockwood to kiss her and they do and eventually they are able to get her to a hospital where the doctors notice Lucy staved off ghost touch for a remarkably long time and are interested as to how she managed it. And they slowly come to realise that the thrill of finally kissing Lockwood was the thing that kept it at bay enough for her to survive.

Ok I have this major theory/headcanon about Marissa fittes from lockwood and co....

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT, THIS THEORY WILL SPOIL THE ENTIRE SERIES FOR YOU SO GO AWAY IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOKS

Ok now let's get to the point. I think that Ezekiel (the type 3 ghost with Marissa) was somehow mentally controlling or manipulating her. Coz the stuff that she was doing, like creating a portal, required a lot of knowledge about the other side. And during her time the Problem had barely started so she wouldn't have access to that info. And I think Ezekiel was the one who made her do that. Maybe he was doing it coz he was a type 3 (who are known to be extremely tethered to this world) and wanted Marissa to stick forever coz he knew that she was the only person who could talk to him. And we know how skull was so desperate to have some communication and connection, so Ezekiel's behaviour makes sense. And as @krash-8 rightfully pointed out, he just lucked out by finding a person who was selfish enough to do this.

So I was rereading pjo (i needed the comfort read coz my boards, kinda like the SATs are going on😭) and I noticed that there are waaaayyy too many similarities between greek mythology and Hindu mythology. So I've decided to write about that instead of studying. Here it goes...

Zeus/Indra : ok they are literally the same deity. Both are the kings of gods, are gods of the sky, use a lightning bolt as a weapon and have giant egos which are set off by the tiniest of things.

Athena/Saraswati : Both are the godesses of wisdom and knowledge, but the more interesting thing is that both had very unusual births (Saraswati was born when Brahma split his body into two) and both were "birthed" by their fathers.

Hades/ Yamraj : Yamraj also coincides with Thanatos coz he's both the god of death and the king of the dead. Just like Hades, he's actually considered to be a really good god despite being associated with death.

Styx/Vaitarani : This river is said to separate the realm of the living from that of the dead. Here too, a fee is required to be given to the ferryman to cross the river.

Icarus/Sampati : now these two are very similar but also very different at the same time. Now the myth goes like this. Jatayu and Sampati are brothers (both are human-vulture hybrids) and were flying in the sky. But Jatayu became reckless and started flying too close to the Sun. Sampati tried to save him and in the process, his wings got burnt off and he fell to the ground. So Jatayu was flying too high like Icarus, but it's Sampati who actually pays the price for his little brother and falls. In a way, they both come together to make up Icarus. Also, Sampati doesn't die, although he's never able to fly again.

Hermes/Narada : Both are the messengers of the gods and are extremely cunning and are tricksters and love drama just a liiiiiittle too much.

Orpheus/Savitri : Both are people who's lovers died, both were unable to deal with this, both went to the underworld and pleaded with the god of dead to return their lovers. Only difference is that Savitri was actually successful in getting her husband back.

The trinity/ the trimurti : Both of these are the three "main" or most powerful of the gods. In Hinduism this concept goes even further by saying that the trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are even above the gods.

There are also Hindu counterparts for literally every single Greek god and I can't list them all here. But I really love that in both these mythos, the gods are treated as very flawed and with very human qualities, rather than being absolutely perfect. This just really makes them very accessible according to me. All in all, maybe all polythestic religions just have the same gods in different guises, who knows🤷‍♀️

When I read Holly asking Lucy not to worry coz Lockwood "wasn't her type" , I immediately thought of Nico telling Percy (from pjo) that he wasn't his type and Percy just standing there asking what was wrong with him...... Now imagine Lockwood gets to know about this whole interaction, and his first response is just

"Wait, why not me????" and then just starts listing out his various qualities and trying to convince Holly to change her mind only because he can't handle not being the best, even though he doesn't even wanna date Holly😂

I don't know, this just always cracks me up, and seems like a very Lockwood response (like we all know what a drama queen he is)

The events that unfolded over the past 24 hours in Atlanta were not isolated incidents. Hate crimes against Asian Americans have increased nearly 150% in the US in the last year. 

Last June, in the wake up of yet another uprising in hate crimes committed by white supremacists, we released the following statement:

White supremacists, Nazis, and other purveyors of hate can fully fuck off. They are not welcome here.

These words are as true today as they were then. We stand with the Asian American community. If you see hate speech on Tumblr, please report it. That shit is not tolerated here.
