Wakaba appeared on the Meiji University Instagram account.
She was asked about her university life and gave some comments on it.
Here is a rough translation:
āI chose Meiji University because I thought it would be useful for me when I enter the society in the nearest future.Ā
Iāve been interested in Meiji University since I was a child. I know a lot of seniorsĀ who have graduated from the skating department of this university, so this is one of the reasons I chose it.
Since Iāve entered the university, my life has changed a lot. Although I might need some more time to get used to it, I could already find some classes that really interest me.
Speaking of university life, I got to talk to students I met for the first time and asked them about things I donāt understand. There are a lot of kind people and I was able to make friends very quickly. Talking to new friends turned out to be even more fun that I thought before coming here.Ā
While balancing between skating and studies, I will try my best to improve my skating results, so please support me!ā

In free skating, Wakaba was truly fighting in the first half of the program, but probably lacked in energy towards the end. She earned 123.54 points for her free skating (TES 57.14, PCS 66.40) which is the second result in ladies free skating.Ā
In total, she earned 186.24 points and finished in 3rd place.
(results, protocols)
Congratulations, Wakaba! Rest well, stay healthy, and you will be definitely stronger next season!

Today Wakaba performed her short program and landed 2A and 3Lz+2T but unfortunately, popped her flip (1F).
She gotĀ 62.70 points (TES 29.70, PCS 33.00) and sheās currently in the 4th place. (results, protocols)
Despite the mistake, she skated with a great speed and energy and the audience actively supported her by clapping throughout the program.
We wish her all the best for her free skating! Good luck, Wakaba!
