Day 14: describe love There's a lot to say here. Love is so many things, and people mistake it for so many other things. I, personally, like how Gary Chapman put it when it comes to long term, ever lasting love. "Love is a choice" Honestly just read the book. From a psych major perspective its a very intriguing theory and from an author perspective its a great tool for characterization. If you're writing a romance you should definitely know your character's love languages and the dialects of them. It's such a helpful, beautiful idea and thought. I recently read Awaken by @authorskyemalone I loved this book! As someone thouroughly into mermaids and mermaid culture, I adore a book that describes those elements well. Right before I moved here to Florida, I read Duma Key by @stephenking which happens to take place in the Florida Keys. One of the main locations in the book is a beach house caked Big Pink that the MC, an artist, moves into. I read The Dark Wood by @authorsydneymann recently and oh my goodness did I love it! Unfortunately I read it on Kindle so I couldn't take any pretty pictures, low key want the physical copy just for that now. Although reading white text on black background was very fitting for this story. This book plays with night and day and mythologies and legends in arch a fun way. The MC is likable but flawed and the romance is so beautiful. I was crying at parts. Day 28: Alliteration I can't conceive of any alliterative amalgamations. However, Jeff Lindsey uses unothodox amounts of alliteration in his Dexter series, especially in the terrifically titillating titles. Any alliteration allows for fun and funky flow in a story. It is my fervent favorite use of literary language.
