stargazing Sirius

Sirius sat under the night sky, sprawled out in the damp grass and looked up at the stars. Remus had followed him outside and folded his legs underneath him and titled his head up at the sky. “What do you see Moony?” Sirius asked quietly.

“Countless stars and I think a bat just passed by,” Remus said wisfully.

He could sit and stargaze for hours. He smugly always found the star of his namesake and then the constellation of his middle name within seconds. Tonight was no different. “Look Moony, the brightest star in the sky is right there,” he said excitedly pointing at it.

Remus smiled softly because he knew all the constellations but he let Sirius have this. Instead, Remus grabbed his other hand and nodded. There they sat under the stars for hours until Remus eventually drifted off and slumped against Sirius’ shoulder. 

Sirius stayed awake as his mind enjoyed the peace and quiet under the night sky. The warm breeze rustled his hair and he thought about how he could easily find himself lost in the stars, but Remus woukd always be his Northern star to guide him back.

Modern Sirius and Remus meeting at a coffee shop where Remus is the caffeine deprived 7 a.m. regular and Sirius is the spunky barista that hates being there that early but always looks for the tall, handsome man who swears if he doesn’t get his fix. One day he finally gives up flirting with the oblivious man and just straight out writes his name on the lid to make sure he sees it. Remus flushes immensely upon spotting it and they have their first date that weekend. 

The Marauders arriving at King’s Cross Station for their second year. James and Sirius arrive together, because of fucking course he spent the summer with the Potters. Remus is already standing there waiting, a huff billowing from his lanky figure. Peter shows up later and apologetic, but all is forgiven. 

They take a car together and talk about everything that’s happened in the last two weeks from when they last saw one another. Remus visited Lily and James wants every detail about it, hanging on to his every word. James and Sirius practiced some new quidditch maneuvers that he’ll use on the field. Peter did a mini tour of Europe. 

They get back to their dorm after eating their hearts out at the welcome feast. They crack jokes about the quirky things Dumbledore said and crack jokes about how miserable Severus looked to find out Regulus was in the same house as him. They go to bed after hanging a map of the castle on the wall that they’ll use to plan pranks later on. It’s going to be a great year. 

Oh for sure! It's like if pre-Voldemort Peter had lasted. I would never say Zach is the Peter that betrayed everyone. It's more like an AU where everyone has a happy ending.

Imagine the chaotic channel a modern Sirius and James would have if they were Youtubers. 

Sirius racing away on a broomstick screaming, "be gay, do crime" after flying to the top of Ravenclaw tower and hanging a Gryffindor flag with a Permanent Sticking Charm in broad daylight so there's no chance of even denying it's his doing.

The Marauders go out together and decide to pretend Remus is a celebrity, much to his exasperation. James, Sirius, and Peter spend the entire time in a triangle formation around him whispering code names and signals into their sleeves and acting like dorks. Remus threatens to hex them all if the don't stop but they keep it up anyway.

A concept: Sirius Black in glasses, absolutely stopping Remus’s heart at the sight. His face going red and getting too choked up for words. Sirius taking the moment to make him even more flustered by pointing out how he can see all of Remus’s cute freckles now.

Sometimes I just think about how Remus is the sun and Sirius is the moon. Remus can be full of warmth but he’s made of fire and has been through hell and lived to tell the tale, every month. He’s the support system and the one full of steady productivity. Sirius has a bold personality but he can also be soft and gentle. He wanes in energy but he’s a steady creative mind that peaks higher than most when it gets the chance. 

A concept: Sirius and Remus walking around town at night when it starts to get colder out and Sirius shivering in his ripped jeans and a t-shirt because he said he would be fine earlier that day. Remus rolling his eyes at his boyfriend’s stubborn pride and giving him his cardigan. Sirius stubbornly refuses it and Remus threatens to hex him if he doesn’t take it. Sirius picks at the worn hole the size of a pebble and mumbles that he doesn’t want Remus to get cold. Remus smugly reminds him that he’s a werewolf and his temperature runs warmer anyway, he just wears the sweaters because they’re soft and cozy.
