GREEN SMOOTHIE ALERT.... don't they just look more healthy and delicious when they are green. We can thank this gorgeous color to spinach and spirulina (green-blue algae). This is currently be eaten for dinner while I binge watch TV. I ran again today, and my body is yelling at me. So I am vegging out and eating pureed veggies and fruit in a pretty bowl.
1 banana
1 scoop vanilla protein
1/4 tsp Spirulina
1 handful spinach
1 cup mango
1 cup peach
1 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp coconut oil
Garnished with coconut shavings, chia seeds, and frozen raspberries
ENJOY. I will be sleep eating/slurping. It’s almost the weeeeekendddd...

Happy hump day people! I am sore from my run yesterday, I am trying to get back in to it, and the calves are barking.
I actually went to a running store recently and got my feet scanned... It is really interesting to see how you stand and run. My feet pronate because I have really high arches. I got insoles for them and hopefully this will help with the leg pain I feel when I run.
I decided to have a protein packed smoothie today, with potassium and some omega 3′s for my muscles, hair and skin. It’s also CRAZY delicious, like chocolate ice cream, not joking. But it is totally vegan, healthy, yummy.
2 Bananas
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop unsweetened vanilla soy protein
1 tablespoon coconut cream (unsweetened)
1 tablespoon raw unsweetened cocoa powder (HELLO ANTIOXIDANTS)
1 tablespoon of almond butter (no added ingredients)
handful of ice
garnish with yummies like coconut shreds and chia seeds for healthy fats.
This is delicious, I had it for my lunch today and honestly I am like, how is this so good, why would you need to eat anything else, help me I am in love with my smoothie, do you love me back smoothie, and then it’s gone and I cry. I am crazy, btw.

Tropical Healing Smoothie
Auntie F came to town today. Even though I am expecting it, I feel like every month it really just knocks me on my ass. So I made a friggin yummy smoothie to TREAT MYSELF, because I am a hot, hormonal, scatter brained lady right now.
I love pina coladas. They are such cheesy and cliché vacation drinks; sweet, creamy, and refreshing. They are also fattening and bad for you, totally loaded with empty calories, HA. like most delicious treats are. It’s been hot in LA recently, and today is no different. Queue the Pina Colada smoothie, filled with great stuff to keep me working hard, stay in homeostasis during my menstrual cycle, and keep cool during this heat wave.
Pina Colada Smoothie
1 cup fresh pineapple ( Vitamin C, Manganese, Iron) (Healthy Skin and Bones)
1 banana (Potassium, Blood Sugar) (Help with cramps & sugar shakeys)
1/3 cup unsweetened full fat coconut milk (canned, no additives!) (Potassium, stabilize blood sugar, lower cholesterol) (beats cravings)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 scoop vanilla soy protein powder (Helps break menstrual munchies)
2 handfuls ice (I like it slushy, if you like it more liquid just do one handful)
Blend together and garnish with unsweetened coconut shavings. ENJOY. It’s seriously yummy. The coconut milk is full fat, so this isn’t an everyday smoothie! While a very healthy alternative, this is still a treat. I like to have lots of healthy fats during my period, it helps my blood sugar stay level, and also keeps me from getting my hands on unhealthy binge foods. Sometimes you need to let your body be itself with out shit like midol and ibuprofen in it, and see if putting organic and healthy things in your body help. They usually do :)

SUCKER PUNCH MONDAY IN THE FACE!!! This smoothie is sweet, bright, clean and just really damn delicious. I had a rough start this morning after learning that I was the victim of fraud. Hopefully all will work out, but right now things are up in the air, and I feel anxious and angry.
I made this smoothie to break the funk. It was so bright and clean tasting that it instantly brightened my mood.
Handful of frozen raspberries and blackberries
1 banana
1/4 mango
splash of ginger juice
1 scoop vanilla soy protein
1 unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop coconut shavings, chia seeds, flax seed

COCONUT KAFFIRITAS WITH TEQUILA & LIME.
Everything here on Maui is simultaneously softer and stronger, fueled by a pungent wave of mana (the Hawaiian word for a spiritual kind of power) that infuses the land, and, in turn, suffuses the food and the people that are nourished by the land. I grew up on strong flavors: Lilikoi (passion fruit), coconut, calamansi (a hybrid of kumquat and lime), li hing mui (dried salted plum that packs the punch of a thousand pounds of MSG), nori seaweed, tahini, pomegranate, surinam cherry, Moloka'i sweet potato, curry. I crave strong flavor like I crave sex like I crave ocean.
Since Tuesday, we’ve inundated our palates with the kind of intense flavor that can only come from a land that is robust and deeply cared after. We’ve had poke fresh from the ocean, garden-to-glass cocktails spiked with lemongrass and cilantro, semifreddo laced with essence of lauhala, lychee and li hing mui shave ice (my new obsession) on a bed of macadamia nut ice cream, garnished with a snow cap of condensed milk.
Coming home to Maui, my sensory perception always feels heightened.

Let’s finish the week strong with a BRAIN POWER SMOOTHIE! This coconut, creamy, delicious treat is packed with all things good to keep your mental clarity peaked. It is great for a Morning breakfast boost, after a night with too many libations (let’s not pretend we’re perfect), after an intense workout or before a study session with friends.
Coconuts are chock full of insane vitamins and minerals, as well as healthy fats. This is a decadent smoothie due to those yummy fats, so I recommend only making this once a week, because while it’s raising good cholesterol, it can also raise the bad stuff too.
Begin by blending coconut meat, water, and milk. There is a coconut smoothie sold at whole foods in the juice section called a genius smoothie. It works perfectly, although a little expensive, it can last you about three smoothies.
Then add 1 scoop vanilla soy protein, 2 tbsp almond butter, 2 medjool dates (pitted), 1/2-1 cup vanilla almond milk, and two handfuls of ice. Blend really well. Dates can take a while to break down.
Garnish with coconut flakes and chia seeds. Enjoy the velvety goodness.
** Remember to make sure all of your ingredients have no sugar added! Coconut and almond products are notorious for having added sweetener, as well as protein powders! The dates will do more than enough sweetening in this bad boy.**

POWER SMOOTHIE
I need a little power in my life after returning from a *pretty* self indulgent trip in Europe. Croissants in the morning, whole milk in my cappuccino, granted when you ask for lait d’amande (almond milk) people look at you funny.
I am jet lagged, bloated, stiff and I hate to admit this to you all, but taken with a mild case of traveler’s tummy. C’est la vie.
To pump me up for some meetings and emails I made myself a serious smoothie, packed with things I have been missing during my carb explosion.
Fist full of frozen Raspberries and Mango chunks
1 cup almond milk
1 splash of ginger juice
fist full of ice
1 banana
1/2 scoop of vanilla soy protein powder
1/2 cup of coconut milk
blend and decorate with unsweetened coconut shavings and chia seeds
Enjoy the tart, sweet, smooth and a little spicy kick from this smoothie. It will help your belly (ginger) and immune system (mango and berries), while helping you beat those jet lag munchies (protein) and airplane stiffness (banana)
Enjoy through straw or with spoon, or funnel. Which ever you prefer.
xx

Dogs are the fucking best. This is Bella the Boykin and she goes to the gym with me *almost* every day, she lets me squeeze her until we both can't breathe and she lets me kiss her all the time, even if they wake her up from naps. She is just the best thing.

The perfect drink, post work out. Anti-inflammatory, hydrating, soothing, and really delicious. 2 cup Coconut milk, 1 cup coconut h2o, 4 oz. fresh squeezed ginger and turmeric juice, (if you can't find turmeric juice powder is fine) 1.5 tsp all spice, two to three drops vanilla stevia! Makes a couple servings
