The next morning the four neat lines on Oluwande’s chest have scabbed over. They’ll be gone within the day, and if he’s lucky – which he usually is – they won’t even leave a scar. There will be no reminder of this.
But Jim can still feel blood on their claws.
And from there – oh, from there it’s an easy spiral. They’re already tired, exhausted to the bone from the nightmare and the sleepless hours that followed.

gender identity headcanon: cis woman mostly, but leans gnc/masc sometimes depending on her mood and if she's having a bad day

she's definitely the little spoon 90% of the time although vehemently denies it

For the fic author Never Have I Ever: Have you ever written someone getting lost in a foreign place?
For this Never Have I Ever Game!
Depends on your definition of lost lol. I've written Zuko going off into the Earth Kingdom on his own to find his way, Zuko Alone style, and I've written Sokka getting lost in a foreign sex shop.
But I don't think either of those fit the brief very well, so if I were to write it, I think it would be fun to write as part of Sokka exploring the Fire Nation on his own and getting to know Zuko's home, and what he'd see as an anonymous man on the street.
I think it could be really fun to write for *Aang* as well, with what was once familiar now being made foreign due to the passage of time. Maybe him feeling like the whole world has become foreign to him, and in the course of being lost discovering all those touchpoints and grounding experiences that let him find his way.

part six
part seven: i slept all alone
Steve had been getting into the rhythm of a new set and being without Robin for the first couple of weeks of production. He wasn't as deer in the headlights as he had expected but he did feel somewhat distant from the rest of the cast who all had connections dating back years. Steve took his time getting to know everyone and by the end of the second week he felt less like a pity invite to going out in the small Italian town and more like one of the group. He still respectfully declined the invite so he wouldn't miss out on his approximately one hour of social media time he allowed himself to keep to the general spirit of the director's rules.
Steve didn't mind being generally unplugged but he did really like to keep up with what his kids were doing and he felt like he was at least a little obligated to see how Robin and Nancy were getting on without him present for cover. The kids kept their whatsapp group chat to a relatively manageable level during the week leaving a few tidbits here and there for Steve to catch up on and after Steve felt mostly caught up he'd provide a short little update of what his week was like. Usually no one got back to him super quickly as it was mid-day in the states and most of the kids were at work or busy and Robin and Nancy were usually a bit tied up in each other if they didn't have any other obligations. Steve didn't mind though because next week like clockwork he'd have several follow up questions and encouraging notes about his update before the group chat chatter turned to whatever else had happened.
Once Steve had caught up with whatsapp he started scrolling through instagram and noticed he had a few tagged posts. Some were just the usual gossip sites taking random paparazzi photos to add to a weekly roundup of where famous people were summering or similar nonsense but he saw a photo of Robin and Nancy he most certainly was not expecting to see come up on his feed.
buckley guess the cat's out of the bag. srry i'm not cool and romantic like my new partner (!!!) but it's pretty great not to have anxiety attacks that i didn't actually turn on close-friends or worry that some waiter read into nance and i's behavior too much. thnx steve-o for keeping this under wraps for way longer than you had to and for being the best scene partner / rumored lover a girl could ask for. hurry back from italy so you can third wheel us in public, dingus.
Steve double checked the time in the US and called up Robin. She had some explaining to do.

Oh you are so right about Mary and Ann! How could I forget about them!? I just referenced them with a friend yesterday too!

WIP Wednesday
So I posted this post on monday and got a few people interested in reading more of it, so that means that I'll be writing a whole fic about it now.
The premise is that Steve's dad is a real piece of shit and had an affair when Steve was three, leading to him having a daughter. Her name is Julie and is recently placed in the foster system after the death of her mother. Steve is now set on this journey of bonding with the sister he never had and essentially bringing her in and raising her. With a side of Steddie.
But I wanted to introduce Julie a bit since she is an original character.
Her full name is Julie Rebecca Lawson and she was born on January 28, 1970, making her 16 when the fic takes place. She is a grade ahead of the rest of the party but is in a few of their more elective leaning classes. She's average in most of her classes but loves to write and illustrate her own stories.
She is a bit of a loner and doesn't have many friends. Her mom and her lived in the trailer park that the Mayfeild's and Munson's lived in in season 4, meaning that she was a witness to most of the events that happened as well.
She is stubborn, strong, sarcastic, caring, and most importantly, a teenager who is going through the loss of her mom. So there's a lot of angst to come for both her and Steve.
The story will be told from both of their perspectives as well as a few flashbacks to Julie's witnessing of season 4 events and just general parts of her life.
I'm working on an outline and figuring out what I want for this story but the first chapter should be posted either this Saturday or the next. It will be posted both here and over on my ao3, which I will provide the link to. Be prepared for a longer one (for me at least), I have a feeling I'll be working on this for a while in order to tell the story I want to.
