Every Sunday, Jonathan Byers mows the lawn of the Harrington property.Ā
Every Sunday, Jonathan Byers arrives at 8AM, gets the keys to the main garage, gets the lawnmower out and gets to work. It takes him a few hours to do both lawns. The Harringtonsā back yard is not small. Thatās alright, though.Ā
Every Sunday when heās finished, Mr. Harrington pays him generously, and it means Jonathan has extra spending money in the summer that he wouldnāt usually.Ā
SomethingĀ elseĀ Jonathan gets to have is an unfiltered view of Steve.Ā
It didnāt start out that way. He never saw Steve the first few times. But then Steve started coming out to the pool around 10AM. Heād already be in his swimming shorts, stretching before getting into the water.Ā
Jonathan started wearing sunglasses after that so he could watch Steve unencumbered.Ā
Steve would never speak to him, generally didnāt really acknowledge his presence, and Jonathan was okay with that. He gets exercise, money, and something pretty to look at. He could have a worse Sunday.Ā
This little routine dies the day that Steve calls over to him while Jonathan is mowing around the patio next to the pool.Ā
āHey! You wanna take a break and swim with me?āĀ
Jonathan looks up, sweat sticking his hair to his forehead. Steveās standing on the springboard, squinting over at him in the sunlight.Ā
āUm,ā he swallows, glancing at the house. āI donāt think Mr. Harrington would like that.āĀ
āHe went out for the day.āĀ
Oh.Ā
āIā I donāt have anything to swim in.āĀ
āI have shorts you can borrow,ā Steve calls. āWatch me!āĀ
Jonathan shuts off the mower as Steve walks confidently to the end of the springboard. Thereās droplets of water sparkling in his chest hair already and it makes Jonathanās tongue go dry. Steve goes into the air with the kind of grace Jonathan never pictured him to have, perfect form as he dives, all tanned skin and muscle. He re-emerges laughing and throwing his soaked hair around, swimming to the edge. Heās so beautiful it kind of gives Jon a stomach ache.Ā
āYou can swim, right? Cāmon, itāll be fun.āĀ
Jonathan slowly takes off his sunglasses, having run out of excuses. He already takes orders from one Harrington. Whatās one more?Ā
Every Sunday, Jonathan Byers mows the lawn of the Harrington property.
Every Sunday, when Mr. Harrington is busy, Jonathan Byers swims in his pool, with his son.
Every Sunday, Jonathan Byers goes to Steveās bedroom to get changed into his own clothes, both of them dripping water all over the rug while they kiss the taste of chlorine and summer off each otherās skin.

Blog FAQ
What fandoms do you write?Ā
Exclusively bandom rpf, specifically All Tim Low. Itās always going to be Jack Barakat/Alex Gaskarth (Jalex) slash, sometimes paired with Zack Merrick/Rian Dawson (Zian). Sometimes, I include the boys with others for narrative reasons, but Jalex is it for me. Lol.Ā
What genres do you write?
ANGST. Not so much death, but I like soap opera-levels of drama and pining. If it doesnāt include emotional pain and suffering, I donāt want it. I love a happy ending after a long whump, but thatās not always how my stuff goes. Open-ended endings are my favorite. I have written fluff a few times, but itās just not my favorite. A lot of my fics are smutty, but I havenāt written kink before, and typically the smut is necessary for narrative purposes. Friendly reminder that this blog and my fics are NOT intended for minors and I strongly discourage minors from engaging with my content.Ā
What can I expect to see on this blog?Ā
Hopefully, writing asks, updates, musings, reblogs, and memes. I also like to wax poetic complain about writing in general, so there might be a few of those. Respectfully, this isnāt the place to discuss drama and tea about All Time Low, but you are more than welcome to send that over to my main blog. Iām also hoping to get some writing challenges here.Ā
Can I send requests?Ā
Not right now, sorry. Iām trying to finish a novel-length work that Iāve been writing and developing since before 2019 and I canāt really have any distractions until thatās done. Maybe some day.Ā
Do you have any formal training?Ā
I was an English and Creative Writing double major in college and I also have a Masterās Degree in Liberal Arts with a focus in English and Creative Writing. Some of my original fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have been published, but I donāt know that this is the place to share them. Lol.Ā
Where can I read your fics?Ā

I have other, older fics on some other sites, but theyāre not about All Time Low, so I donāt see any reason to link them. Besides, a lot of those older fics are also still on my AO3 and Wattpad. If youāre curious, message me and I might tell you, but theyāre pretty niche fandoms, so I canāt see why anyone would be interested. Theyāre also not hard to find lol.Ā
How can I support you?
Literally, just the fact that people read my silly little stories at all means the fucking world to me. However, kudos and comments are the absolute best way! I get overjoyed every time I get an ao3 notification in my email. Thatās all I really need.Ā
