Protect Me? (Zach Mitchell)

Summary: Zach Mitchell and the reader, Y/N, have been best friends since childhood. When Zach takes her to Jurassic World, it's a game of survival.

The day he met her, he fell in love. That's how Zach says he and Y/N met, but when Y/N herself is around, he says they met in the seventh grade, when she moved to Michigan from Alaska. She was used to the cold, it didn't bother her, and neither did the kids whispering how weird she was for still being obsessed with dinosaurs. She got along great with Gray, because they both knew things about Sauropods and long-necks and T-Rexes and Triceratops and this and that kind of dinosaur.

Over time, Zach started falling for her. At the time, he was still with Ashley, his now-ex, and he hated thinking that he was leading her on, even though he thought--no, knew--that he had no chance with Y/N. So, as friends, he invited her along to Jurassic World, their aunt's dinosaur theme park.

Time Skip

Zach, Gray, and Y/N got off of the boat docked at Isla Nublar. The hills and mountains spread around them like a green maze, and the wooden dock was warm from the sun. Y/N grinned, taking it in. She loved nature, it was her happy place. She liked to often sit near rivers or streams and draw them in motion, or listen to the rain and sleep, even if she got cold and a little wet. "It's so pretty here," She said, and Zach grinned, shaking his head. "You and nature, I swear." She giggled, and Zach blushed.

"Who's that?" Gray asked, pointing at a woman with black hair and dark shades covering her eyes. She was dressed in a power suit, a pale gray color that covered a white shirt. She had pale gold shoes on. In her slim hands, she held a sign: ZACH AND GRAY MITCHELL, Y/N L/N. "Let's find out," Y/N said softly.

Time Skip

"What the hell just happened?" Y/N choked on water as she swam to shore. Zach and her pulled Gray onto the mud, and Zach said, "We were almost eaten." He blew water from his nose in a short huff, and Gray said, "That's why Aunt Claire wanted us to come back. We should've gone back." He whimpered, and Y/N gently helped him up, shaking water from her hair. "Well, let's just get back to the park, okay?"

They wandered around for a long time and found a set of doors covered in vines and moss. "The old park!" Y/N cried happily, running up the steps slick with moss. "Careful, careful." Zach scolded as she ran inside. It was a disaster, but it was beautiful, like an old castle left in ruins. She could see the beauty where everything must've been. "They built over it," Gray frowned, touching a wall with painted Velociraptors on it. "Makes sense, they didn't exactly tell anyone this happened." Zach muttered, picking up a banner. He turned to Gray. "Still got those matches?" Gray opened his "dork pouch" and took them out, handing them to Zach, who lit the banner like a torch. "Come on." He said, and they followed.

They had just entered the old Visitor's Center when a large, scaly foot slammed down and crushed a leaf-covered statue. "Run!" Zach yelled, and they bolted. Y/N tried keeping up but didn't see a large vine and root entangled together on the floor and tripped, flying forwards. "Ow!" She yelped, and the dinosaur, the one that tried to eat them on the waterfall, snarled and started leaning down. She froze, but knew that this thing didn't see like the T-Rex; it went off thermal radiation, not sight. Suddenly, the thing howled, and she saw Gray jamming a huge stick in the dinosaur's leg, making it scream and roar in pain. "Come on!" Zach was yanking her to her feet, and as they passed, they grabbed Gray. Making it into a garage, they saw a gasoline Jeep. Pausing, they waited to hear the dinosaur's loud steps. After a moment, they heard them, stomping away. "He's leaving," Gray whispered. Zach adn Y/N weren't listening. He was holding her close, breathing deeply to calm himself. "Are you okay?" He asked, face inches from hers. She nodded, breathless. "Yes." For a moment, they stared at each other. "Jesus, just kiss her." Gray snapped, moving to the Jeep.

Zach grinned, kissing Y/N, and she kissed back, feeling safe. "I...I love you," She whispered, and he blushed, a small smile on his face. "I love you more."

Rewatching the jurassic world movie for the first time since it came out. I've forgotten so much it's honestly like watching it for the first time.

Seeing Masrani in the pink shirt and the sunglasses instantly made me think of episode 1 Kenji and how much kenji does look up to Masrani.

Also one of the raptors is referred to as male at one point? (At least in the italian version) But aren't they all female?

Day 14: I Remember Everything

Pairings: Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell x fem!reader

Synopsis: Both you and Maverick are struggling with the loss of Goose. Based on the Zach Bryan And Kacey Musgraves song ‘I Remember Everything’.

Warnings: Alcoholism, death, tears, bad coping mechanisms, break-ups & feeling of abandonment.

Word count: 1.2k

Ever since your boys went off to Top Gun, you couldn’t wait to see them. So, when family week rolled around, you, along with Carole and Bradley, boarded the plane together. Carole was ecstatic to have her sister-in-law joining her on the flight. It gave her someone to watch Bradley while she snuck in a few hours of shut-eye. You couldn’t wait to see your big brother. However, Goose wasn’t the only one you were excited to see. For the past three years, you and Maverick had been dating.

Throughout their time in Fighter Town, you had heard all about your boyfriend’s rivalry with Iceman. You remembered him from Goose’s time at the academy. You found that he was a lovely person. So lovely, in fact, that you went out with him for the entire time Goose was at the academy. You wouldn’t put his competitive side past him. Even if Maverick was stretching the truth just a little bit. You never imagined that the competition between them would escalate to where it was now. As far as you had been told, it was a healthy, safe competition. Now, however, you wanted to smack both Iceman and your boyfriend upside the head.

Your older brother was the most important person in your life. He had practically raised you. You could vividly remember crying for weeks when he left home for the academy. When Maverick and Goose had first been paired together, you had sat the rebellious pilot down and told him that while Goose trusted him, you weren’t so convinced. In that moment, Maverick promised you that your brother would always return safely to his family. Three months later, Mav took you out on your first date.

Maverick had quickly gained your trust. You soon came to learn that you and your brother were the only family that he had. That only helped to prove the fact that Maverick would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat for either of you. For that, you were immensely grateful.

Given their job, you understood that there was a large risk factor. However, you knew how good of a pilot your boyfriend was. If he had any control over the situation, everything would turn out okay. Even though you trusted him, you knew that sometimes, he didn’t trust himself. When he was up in the air, it was like he was flying against a ghost. You knew exactly whose ghost that was.

Mav had always thought that he was a disappointment, purely because he was his father's son. He had always been told that he would never amount to anything, all because of his last name. You saw how hard he worked to prove them wrong. That was one of the things you loved about him. No matter how many times he got pushed down, he always got back up.

This time, however, was shaping up to be very different than the others. This time, there was no going back.

Before they left for Top Gun, you had told Maverick about your ex. After all, you were pretty sure that he would be there as well. Oh, how right you were. It was just your luck that the two of them would end up going head-to-head for first place. At the beginning, you were thrilled with the idea of Mav and Goose getting to go to Top Gun. Now, you would give anything to keep them from ever getting a chance.

Only a few days after you had arrived for family week, there was a tragic accident. Maverick and Ice were tied for first and you knew that both of them would do whatever they could to win. What you didn’t know was that ‘whatever they could’ would come with a grave cost.

When you had first heard the news, you collapsed. You had lost your brother. The one piece of your family you had left and he was gone. Unsurprisingly, Maverick had turned into a mess. Goose was like the brother that he never had. Regardless of whose fault it was technically, Maverick would never stop blaming himself. Needless to say, Mav wasn’t handling the situation very well. Even Carole seemed to be having a better time coping with the tragic loss of her husband.

While a large part of you felt so sorry for your boyfriend, the other part wished he would open his eyes. He wasn’t the only person that lost somebody. But he was sure acting like he was. Carole had lost a husband. Bradley had lost a father. You had lost a brother. And yet none of that seemed to matter to your grieving boyfriend. To him, he was the only person that lost Goose. He began drinking his troubles away, not a single thought as to what all of this was doing to you.

Now, you were sobbing in the bedroom you shared with Maverick. He hadn’t been at the past few days of training, spending all of his time in the bar. With your boyfriend off god-knows-where, you couldn’t help but miss everything that the two of you used to have. Late nights spent cuddled up on that old ratty couch, Mav whispering sweet nothings in your ear the whole time flooded your mind as you continued to sob.

Goose wasn’t just your boyfriend, he was your best friend. A few days after the accident, the pain had worn off. Now, all you felt was numb. While Maverick had drinking, you had nothing. You had nothing to make that feeling go away. Through your tears, you finally came to a horrible realization. Your loving boyfriend was gone. He died in the same accident that your brother did.

You couldn’t stay with him anymore. Not if it was going to be like this. Was Maverick hurting? Of course he was. But were you also hurting? Yes. In the aftermath of the accident, you had assured Maverick again and again that you were there for him. That you would be the shoulder he could lean on should he need somebody. Instead, he had turned to drinking, leaving you with no shoulder at all.

Sniffling, you wiped your nose on the back of your hand and stood up from the bed on shaky legs. You hadn’t left the bed all day. Picking up the phone, you tried to call the bar where you figured Maverick was. When the bartender picked up and tried to hand the phone to Mav, your boyfriend refused to talk to you. The phone dropped out of your hand as you stared straight ahead. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Numbly, you began packing your bags. You had very few clothes, but you threw all of them into a bag with little to no order. Soon enough, your bags were packed and you were slamming the door of Maverick’s base housing. Time seemed to fly as you called a taxi to the airport and bought a ticket home. Sure, Carole and Bradley were still here, but you had no reason to stay. You would have loved to stay for Maverick’s graduation. However, you just couldn’t bring yourself to wait around for someone that was long gone.

whats crazy to me is the sheanu drama was about phil being upset at the baby not being his than the affair itself really. a wrong dna test caused all of this drama and we are here 4years later doing this again. im here for a phil and sharon baby but i would have preferred it from the start rather than now but better than never really.

i personally hope phil and sharon get together and sharon and albie move into number 55 with phil(i would even go as far as to say i want ben, cal and lexi living there too i feel like ben has been isolated a lot since living away from his parents compared to the 2019/2020 days. the flat and not working at the arches has closed his circle quite a lot i think). i need the slaters AWAY from phil and his wealth. sharon is just much more classier than kat and i prefer kat with alfie really.

i am so here for sharon returning to the mitchell empire. i would love louise and peggy junior to make a return even a short one.

i guess keanu can kiss goodbye to the arches and ben will get it back? a part of me does feel sorry for keanu yes he is the reason for all of this but i do feel bad imagine chasing around a son that wasnt even yours i would feel terrible

i wonder is the show going to change albies surname to mitchell? do you think they should do the same to lexi? im not sure if its disrespectful to since lolas not here but she was christened as a mitchell.

i was so disappointed to see sharon not tell phil about albie last night as sharon has often in the past blurted out things too fast! this is important but yes for the xmas plot i guess we got to drag it out. at least she told zach i was surpised at tbh!!

I think Eastenders just wanted to have their cake and eat it. Keanu has never been an important character, so the Phil/Sharon angle was the only thing they could mine from this situation. They wanted all of the fall out and drama it caused, as well as whats happening right now. Albie could have just been Phil's from the start, but they wouldn't have gotten the 3/4 storylines out of it that they have.

Keanu was absent for years and literally no one missed him, so it was obvious that his return would be limited and directly related to what went before.

Sharon and Phil are one of those 'inevitable' couples, whether you like them or not. And I quite like Kat and Phil but it feels like a placeholder for both of them - they both have their great loves waiting in the wings.

As isolated as Ben and Callum feel from their wider family (mainly Phil and Kathy), I don't really see a scenario of them moving in together again. It would be a bit strange at this point given they have their own place.

With Lexi, I would like to see her change her name to Pearce Mitchell or just Mitchell - and Callum to change his name too. It's weird that they haven't addressed the difficulties of having a family unit in which the child and two parents all have different last names. It would cause a lot of issues in real life.

Ben was always going to get the Arches back but I am interested to see how it comes about - there isn't really a straight line between 'Sharon and Keanu break up' to 'Ben gets the Arches back' - Sharon is obviously going to find out about the kidnapping at some point and the paternity thing will come out as a result of her anger around that. There needs to be a lot of bridge building between Ben and Sharon too. I do wonder if Ben's assault will become Square public knowledge at some point , with all the stuff with Dean. It would be interesting to see Ben's reaction to his presence too, given everything.

Imagine getting separated from Zach when the dinosaurs escape

After what had happened in the Gyrosphere Valley, Zach made sure to be holding onto you and Gray as you all made your way through the park. He didn’t want to risk either one of you falling behind and finding yourselves in danger while the threat of dinosaurs lurked around the corner. It’s why when the three of you had gotten to Main Street, he grabbed both of your hands, not wanting to lose either one of you in the crowd.

But the screeching of the winged dinosaurs along with the PA system warning them of a containment anomaly and the sirens, the once peaceful crowd was thrown into chaos. Everyone began panicking as they began to run away from the nearing dinosaurs, crashing and pushing past each other to escape or find cover.

Feeling someone crash into him, he loses his hold on their hands as he falls to the ground. He feels someone pulling on his sleeve urgently, trying to help him stand up. “Zach, you have to get up!” Gray tells him, voice wavering with anxiety as the screeching gets closer and the Pterosaurs start swooping down and grabbing people off the streets.

He does so but when he’s up and he doesn’t see you beside them, Zach begins to panic. Were you taken by the flow of the crowd or did one of the dinosaurs get you? Frantically looking around, the running crowd doesn’t help him as he can’t get a clear look at anything with everyone obstructing everything. The sky isn’t any better as the dinosaurs become dark spots against it after flying up again once they captured someone in their jaw. Holding onto Gray’s hands, he begins shouting for you, hoping you would still be near. “[Name]!”

“Come on Zach! Let’s go see the encounter with the baby carnivores.” Grey grabbed his brother’s arm trying to drag him where he wanted to go next.

“Isn’t that for babies? You know little kids.” Zach asked his brother but he was only paying half attention.

“No. It’s not like the other one. You can’t ride these dinosaurs. Carnivores as in meat-eaters.” Grey explained looking at the map to see how to get there.

“Fine, fine. Let’s go.” Zach sighed giving in and following his brother to wherever this attraction is on this island.

“Oh look! Their getting bigger. That means soon they’ll have to move them into the roaming area.” Grey spoke in amazement.

“Yeah, fascinating.” Zach rolled his eyes. ‘Of course, their gonna get bigger’ Zach thought.

“Awesome! Their gonna feed them.” Grey tried not to jump up and down at the thought of watching them eat. This whole thing is truly fascinating.

“Yeah, yeah cool. Their goona lower another crane.” Zach scoffed shaking his head, unimpressed.

“No, look.” Grey nudged his brother’s side with his elbow.

“What?” Zach groaned turning to face the dinosaurs, now suddenly interested.

“There’s actually someone in there with them.” Grey spoke softly in shock.

“Couldn’t she get hurt?” Zach watched in shock along with his brother.

“Well actually, Y/n is the only one of the trainers allowed near any of the carnivores.” a worker told the two brothers.

“Whys that?” Grey asked waiting to know more. Why is she allowed out of so few people? He knows she can’t be more than his brother’s age.

”Her father trains the raptors here. He taught her as she grew up. And she’s also the only one allowed anywhere near the Tyrannosaurus Rex we have from the old park.” The worker explained to the young boys.

“BUt hasn’t the T-Rex you know, killed people?” Zach asked confused why they would let a girl his age in with a man-eating dinosaur. Literally.

“It has but for reasons no one can explain. The T-rex likes her. She even protective of her.” the worker shrugged. Before turning to face another guest with questions.

“You like her don’t you?” Grey smiled smugly up at his brother. Knowing the look his brother was giving the girl through the glass.

“Shut up.” Zach nudged his little brother. BUt kept his eyes on the girl. Because not that he’d ever admit it, but his brother is right.

Zach had pounced at you, knocking you out of the reach of the feared pterodactyl that was reaching out for you. He protectively held his position on top of you while they swarmed away, but in the meantime, you and Zach laid face to face, both panting with rushing adrenaline.

“You okay?” He asked, trying to keep calm in the stressful atmosphere. Your hands were grasping onto his arms as you just stared at him, almost at a loss for words. “You’re safe now.” He assured you, just moments before you leaned upwards and collided your lips with his. He gladly accepted your kiss and you pulled away quickly, you couldn’t believe you just did that.

“Sorry, sorry.” You apologized, becoming increasingly embarrassed. “That was my first kiss. Just in case I die today.” You explained as you buried your face into your hands, but you heard an out-of-place chuckle.

“Don’t worry, I liked it.” You saw him smiling above you, slowly climbing to his feet and helping you up. “You should stay close to us, you might have a fighting chance.”

Gyrosphere - Zach Mitchell

Pairing: Zach Mitchell x Reader

Characters: Zach Mitchell, Gray Mitchell

Request: Wattpad: “Can you do a Jurassic World Zach Mitchell imagine where him and Gray bump into the reader in the ‘hamster ball’ line and so they end up riding together when they come across the indominus rex and when they make it to shore after the jump he says something protecting her with his life.”

When you had agreed to go on holiday with your friends, you hadn’t exactly counted on the fact that they were both going with their boyfriends and that they would just disappear on you.

Despite that, you had paid to be there, so you were still going to enjoy the park. You weren’t prepared to not do anything just because they’d all decided to go off on their own.

The gyrospehre ride, or hamster ball as you liked to call it, had been pretty popular all day, you’d done other things beforehand but had eventually decided to queue up for it.

Whilst you were minding your own business, you felt someone crash into the back of you and grab your backpack to stop themselves from falling.

You weren’t expecting to see a familiar face when you turned around.

Zach Mitchell – a pretty popular guy at your school who you sat next to in a fair few classes, but you never really knew what to say to him because you weren’t exactly popular.

He had always been lovely to you, making an effort to make conversation but it didn’t exactly go unnoticed with the populars at school.

Zach looked just as surprised as you, but you looked down at the younger boy who had fallen into you.

“Are you okay?”

The young boy looked up at you and smiled nervously. “I’m really sorry, I tripped, and my brother tried to stop me, but I just fell.”

You turned to Zach. “This is your little brother that you’ve talked about?”

He smiled at you. “Yeah, this is Gray,” he introduced. “Gray this is Y/N, we go to school together.”

Gray waved at you causing you to laugh.

“Are you here with anyone else from school?” Zach asked causing you to nod.

“I am but they’ve both disappeared on me, something about needing to spend time with their boyfriends and apparently they don’t care enough about me because they’ve left me in a very big place all by myself,” you explained causing Zach to frown.

“Do you want to ride with us?” Gray quickly spoke up, the excitement evident in his tone.

Zach looked at his brother in shock but then turned to you with a smile and shrugged his shoulders. “Might as well Y/N, at least it means you won’t have to ride alone.”

You couldn’t say no to the smile and so you agreed to go with the two of them.

Once you got to the front of the queue, you realised there were only two seats in the gyrosphere, so you turned to Zach.

“I’ll ride by myself, there’s only two seats in there,” you explained but as you went to step back, Zach grabbed your hand to pull you forward.

Before you could make any move to get away, Zach had sat down in the seat and pulled you into his lap whilst Gray sat in the empty seat.

“Zach! What the hell?!”

He chuckled as Gray looked around. “What? I wasn’t going to let you go by yourself.”

You rolled your eyes but managed to admit to yourself that you quite enjoyed the way Zach was holding you, even though you knew nothing would ever come of it.

As time in the sphere passed, an announcement came through telling you all to return to the main base and that you were near a restricted area.

“Zach, we need to go back,” Gray spoke up but Zach just shook his head as he continued to steer the sphere towards the restricted area.

You sighed. “Zach this isn’t a good idea.”

He chuckled, resting his chin on your shoulder. “Relax Y/N/N, we will all be fine. What’s the harm in looking a little further?”

“It’s restricted for a reason Zach,” Gray reminded his older brother.

Eventually, Zach agreed to head back through the route that you had taken to get there.

As you were going across the field, a few dinosaurs ran straight past you all and Gray started to make a few worried noises.

“Gray, what’s wrong?” you asked him, he just pointed in the reflection of the glass – staring back at you all was the indominus rex.

When you all looked back at the rex, it let out a roar and kicked the sphere as it chased another dinosaur.

As the other dinosaur went to run as well, its tail slammed against the sphere causing the three of you to scream as the sphere smashed against a tree and you were left upside down

“Zach, if we had gone back when we were told to this wouldn’t have happened,” you complained in worry and fear.

Zach’s hand reached round to grab yours. “It’ll disappear soon, and we’ll be able to get out of this thing.”

“But we’re upside down!” Gray exclaimed only to be shushed by both you and his brother.

You all stayed quiet for as long as you could as you watched the idominus rex kill its prey, but its head turned towards you when your phone started to vibrate against the glass of the sphere.

It came over and stabbed its claws through the glass before picking up the sphere and shaking it repeatedly, all whilst the three of you were screaming in fear.

Zach reached around and released your seatbelts and you all fell out onto the broken glass on the floor.

The three of you began to run through a meadow whilst the rex chased you, Zach grabbed your hand and you grabbed onto Gray so that you knew he was keeping up.

You soon had to stop as you came to a cliff edge with water beneath it.

“We’re going to have to jump,” Zach stated as he looked down.

Gray shook his head and backed away but Zach turned to him.

“It’s either we jump down there, or we get eaten.”

Zach squeezed your hand and you turned to Gray, who nodded his head at you and with that the three of you jumped into the water below – narrowly missing the rex’s teeth as its jaw snapped behind you.

The impact of the water was shocking, but you all stayed below the surface for a short time to trick the rex into thinking that you were dead.

After a few minutes, you all emerged to see the rex walking off and so you swam to the shore of the pool.

Once you got to shore, you lay on your back trying to catch your breath and soon Zach was pulling you up by your hand.

“This is not what I imagined for my day.”

Zach chuckled, pulling you into a hug and kissing the top of your head which caught you by surprise.

“But thanks for making sure I was okay.”

With a smile, Zach looked down at you. “I’d protect you with my life Y/N.”

You laughed. “And why might that be? You could’ve let the rex eat me you know.”

He shook his head. “I have a crush on you, have done for a while and I’m hoping this hasn’t made you hate me too much.”

Without saying anything you reached down to intertwine your fingers with Zach’s. “Get me back to the park in one piece and we’ll find out.”
