Here me out 😏. The workers at playtime co. Put the smiling critters into pairs to work with the kids for like team building or something. "correct! we are playing a game of... tug of war!! you will each be separated into teams, with two leaders!"

"the team leaders are... hoppy and bobby! kicken and picky! and finally, crafty and dogday! bubba will be keeping score. okay kids, pick your leaders!" unsurprisingly, most of the kids wanted dogday, but they had to split it up.

originally, you never had a problem with crafty. you knew she liked dogday, but honestly, who didnt? he was a very handsome boy after all. but there was one rule all of the critters knew. he was yours.

you stood in the corner with catnap, just watching the game. neither of you wanted to play. dogday and crafty were winning with a total of 10 points, one point being per game. crafty did none of the work, she just stood in front of dogday pretending to pull. every now and then her butt would accidentally touch his crotch. that royally pissed you off. but you tried to ignore it. your final straw was when dogday had the fucking nerve to hold her waist steady.

yea no. not today crafty.

Maybe this is a really hot take, but if you write? Guess what? Youre a writer! You may not yet be a published best selling writer yet, or a critically acclaimed writer yet, but you write! Youre a writer!

It just means that, maybe, what you write isnt what people want to read right now, or know about yet, but some stuff i wrote years ago has suddenly skyrocketed in kudos and comments, when i barely had any hits then. Sure, many still barely have any hits, but the hits and kudos do grow, slowly, and youll never know when a renaissance will come to the genre, the au, the movie, the series, game, characters.

Maybe you wrote fanfiction for a little-known movie, maybe its a niche fantasy au you write, maybe you write poems about war, or lost lovers, and the want for it just hasnt come yet. Maybe you just posted at a bad time.

The movie could suddenly find a following online after 15 years, twenty years, thirty, or more, but you were there, and before anyone else writes any more, guess what people will be reading? Your work! A streamer might decide to play the game that inspired your fantasy au, and you will be there, waiting. Maybe a new video game could come out, about animals in war, and your poems would already be there!

Keep writing, practice, learn what you do well, improve on what you arent yet, hone your interests, or broaden your reach. Experiment. Try new things. But keep writing. Practice, and i promise you, you will get better. It gets better. Even if what you write is good, and youre losing hope, i promise, it does get better. I thought some of the stuff i wrote was so wonderful, but its mediocre compared to what i know i could do, if i hadnt given up, if i had kept working at it.

You dont have to write for hours every day. Not everyone can be a stephen king, can pump out a half dozen novels a year, a book in a week. Even if its just an hour a week, keep practicing.

Keep writing, just for fun. And i swear, keep what you produce, even if you dont like how it turns out. You could rewrite in in a couple years time, using the ideas, or just look back, and marvel at how far youve come.

But more than that, you write, you wrote. You are a writer.

i know that after the backrooms got super popular and liminal spaces became a well known subject and lost part of the horror from overexposure, people get kinda sick of people even bringing the topic up

but i still really love liminal spaces. and i still think they have just as much horror as they always did

hell, i like the concept of the backrooms just being liminal space after liminal space, though i never liked the concept of any creatures being in it, because then it stops being liminal, and it loses that specific horror to me. it just becomes any other horror, then.

to be alone with no way out, not knowing when or if youll see anyone again, your home, your family, even your own possessions. just maze after maze of loneliness and uncertainty and only yourself to keep you company. its isolation. its why im obsessed with it. i think its even better if you dont even have the ability to die, because then youre truly stuck... and then if you get back home, its like no time passed... but it did, for you.

i love liminal spaces. i love thinking about them and talking about them and playing games set in them. i love comparing things to them! gmod is like, the most liminal space game, partly because it wasnt even done intentionally! but if you say that to any gmod fan theyll probably roll their eyes because theyve heard it a million times before

idk, im just a big fan of it, but i feel like people dont see it the way i do, at least not enough. its a fascinating thing, and it really got trapped in only being talked about in certain contexts i think.

i think this fandom, myself included, has a blind spot when it comes to any bbh knowledge so this is interesting to read! how much do you think the others know about him? like no one knows anything or if there are tiers, say skeppy and dream know some stuff and the rest nothing? i'd take a whole essay tbh you're like the bbh biographer

thank you its fun to share my knowledge about this sphere since I've spent so much time over the years collecting info and I've picked up a couple things here and there I theorize that skeppy's knowledge from 2018-20 is very limited and that it wasn't till 2021 that he became a bit close to bad but even then the extent of that was narrow as for the dteam I'll also touch on that briefly because it is connected to the skeppy things but its harder to tell with them just because they've known bad for a decade now and even he isnt that good at keeping things secret

skeppy didn't know where bad lived (if i recall this clip is from end of 2019 early 2020) even though he has made videos centered around buying and sending him items and they've been friends for a year by then

funnily enough this is one of those moments where skeppy exposes bad most likely isn't in Florida

in the drunk stream, in the same vain, he asks chat if they know bad if bad is straight or not there are multiple streams and clips of skeppy asking bad innocent questions and bad dodging and obfuscating to the point that skeppy just starts going "oh you're avoiding it again" in an annoyed tone bad's mcc coins go to skeppy because he refuses to give scott his address, skeppy cant send them to bad because I assume he still doesn't know where he is, or bad wants skeppy to keep them and then there is this

we know bad has his saturday streams but he always tends to start those streams late because he claims he overslept! this stream we find out the reason he oversleeps is because he is actually waking up at 5 am every saturday and this is news to puffy, but skeppy and ant seem to have known about this for a long time but they don't know WHY he does it, bare in mind skeppy has been friends with bad for 4 years, ant has been friends with him for 9 years

later on after bad does go to bed at 3:01:00 the topic is revisited as they try and guess what the fuck does bad do at 5 am on a Saturday

bad is a chronic late nighter so this whiplashed puffy

skeppy says

ant is pretty quiet throughout this but he also doesn't know, but this really puts into focus how skeppy and bad have interacted throughout the years, skeppys rough boundary play never really went away, sure they've set some no go zones by finding them out the hard way, but things like what bad does on saturydays or evasive questions, to skeppy are games that he wants to find out and grow closer to bad by bad then JOINS BACK at 3:04:00 I assume because he was worried about the topic of discussion

after bad joins he claims he wakes up at 5 am to drink coffee with people, ant then tries guessing if he knows what it is and bad avoids answering him then skeppy jealous of ant's knowledge asks him to confirm if ant got it right and bad said ant only guessed Something right

so what does this show us? the people who have known bad for 9 years dteam included are not immune to bad's dodgyness but they have an advantage of having known him for so long that they have picked up things he drops here and there skeppy has only known him for 4 years and seems to be active in trying to figure out bad as opposed to munchymc crew who have just been passively picking up knowledge

there are a couple inconsistencies like I do think dream at least has to know bad's name for legal purposes because they have a merch deal together, and I do think skeppy does know bad's name by now because he was also going to do a merch deal with him but anything else? fair game, no clue what they would know and what they wouldn't know

i usually just have it named w the charac im drawing in it and then with a number if theres more than one file w the charac so like scar.mdp, scar + timbertie.mdp, ace.mdp, YAMA3.mdp, str6.mdp, 2sgr3.mdp, or sometimes like, doodles.mdp doodles1.mdp doodles3.mdp doodles4.mdp doodles6.mdp usually when theres more than one character in the file. i used to put just number 1, 2, 3 etc as the file names so that theyd show alphabetically but it was rly better to have at least a name of what was in the drawing

it's actually a good game too especially once you make it past base game! as a wow player i found it pretty easy to get into after a quick period of adaptation ( < forged in the crucible of wotlk-era wow)

i just KNOW the outland trio has some incredibly comedic AND tragic potential with their banter and blizzard is KEEPING IT FROM US.

i do not remember (or, i guess, know) much about final fantasy exceptt watching my dad play ff13 because he wanted to show me how cool it looks anyways i wnated to ask you about. the little cactus people. if they are people? their faces always look like :0 how do you feel about them i think theyre neat (and i hope they arent actually really annoying in gameplay or something) your posts about final fantasy reminded me how nice it was to watch my dad play that game and have no idea what the hell was going on but he was having fun which is the important part

heehee those are the CACTUAR

theyre funny little low level enemies out in Thanalan so i dont think people think about them much anymore but theyre super cute I think. they're also the mascot for the game and universe's Casino, the Gold Saucer, and theyre called the Sabotenders

there's also another version of them on another planet in this game called the Gigantender, and one of them is fucking. spicy hot red because it's a special kill mark, and their head has SMALLER CACTUAR shapes on it. this is the maliktender and me and my bestie love this big ol bitch that when he met up with me and moosh and spotted it in the distance we both RAN to it

theres also a cute questline to get the cactuary minion where you have to find a zombie's three cactuar friends and my favorite bit about it is you find a cactuar friend of his bathin in a hot spring under a waterfall. its just super cute

you also learn my favorite blue mage spell 1000 NEEDLES from a cactuar too. idk why this is my favorite blue mage spell and its not really an interesting fact but i love sharing it :]

OH AND MY BESTIE HAS A MINION OF THE GIGANTENDER. AND YOULL NEVER GUESS WHAT ITS CALLED.

also not really related to the cactuars but there used to be a crafting ingredient called the lunatender blossom that people were hiking up in price like nuts on the marketboard and so i went in and undercutted them to make their day worse and so whenever i see the lunatenders i smile so wide

OKAYYY. I’ve been playing final fantasy x and here are some preliminary thoughts after like a hard won 4ish hours in 🫠

It was a huge leap to start this game just because 1) I don’t play games like this period (rpg fighters) and have even less experience than any other type of game I ever played and 2) there’s truly nothing more intimidating to me than the final fantasy franchise.. like it only won out over me trying out kingdom hearts because I didn’t feel like doing the punch _ button for _ move type fighting in a game just yet lol. BUT WHATEVER! It has been my goal this year anyway to try games out of my comfort zone (80% of games out there lol) so here I am…

I think the world-building is very appealing!! look I have never in my life even tried looking up final fantasy lore or anything I think I just know Sephiroth and the big ducks maybe but regardless I loved the 5 seconds we got in Zanarkand just because a fantasy steampunk-esque world can be charming.. and exploring the 1000yrs later world and it’s differences is also very interesting. I think I spent half of my hours just talking to everybody I saw and looking at the world textures lol it’s nice and peaceful most of the time

I love the cast a lot.. playing as Tidus kind of surprised me because I think I’m not used to fully formed playable main characters like him (was thinking Link or a fire emblem protag rip) but I LOVE HIM!!!! HES SO GOOFY AND CHARMING and I am so endeared by the voiceover narration (ummm his future self??) and where the story is taking him. He and Yuna are so sweet and cute. I actually really love that not ever cutscene was there to move the plot??? Like the one first boat scene where Tidus stole some guys binoculars and was monkeying around on the ship. Or this one 🥺😭💗

SO PRECIOUS!!! It’s how I know something horrible is going to come regarding them 🧎Well for now I’m just in for the ride. The other guardians are definitely a ragtag bunch but I really appreciated how they were fleshed out in this narrative. I like the big wolf beast guy and I will tell you every time I get a chance I try to get Tidus to go talk to him and every time I get ignored 🥲 ONE DAY!!!! And I love theeee goth woman supreme Lulu even her name is so cute. Love her little doll. She saves my ass every single fight I swear. Wakka is also charming in his own way lol he reminds me of a character I just don’t know who.. he and Lulu having their josei romance drama in the backdrop of this story also gets meeeee. Like!?? Look at them wtf…

Ok ok now about the fighting itself: it’s not as bad as I thought. It’s still not something I really have come to look forward to though, and I really really despise the mechanic where you’re walking and get a randomized battle out of nowhere. The Pokémon grass effect whatever you call it…. IM SICK OF IT!!!! LET ME RUN AWAY!!! especially when I’ve had like 3 fights in a row and that stupid breaking glass effect comes and I have to fight again. Oh save me. im not built for this. HOWEVER. Besides that. It’s okay. Figuring out what moves I should be doing isn’t all that difficult even if I do kind of just guess most of the time. I’m lucky I’m using an emulator and saving as much as I can in case I need to reload during a battle. I’ll be okay lol I just want to complain sometimes just cuz. 😖

And finally…. The one thing I did not expect to encounter in this game and genuinely made me want to QUIT this game for good despite everything positive above: BLITZBALL. WHY DO YOU EXIST. WHY. I CANT STAND THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!

This funny scene made me laugh when I first saw it because I literally thought blitzball games would play out like that first cutscene in Zanarkend - AS A CUTSCENE!!! TIDUS YOULL LOSE I HAVE NO SKILL YOULL LOSE TIDUS!!!!!!!

I will admit now I didn’t know wtf I was doing on that boat and totally failed at getting the Jecht shot but how??? Was I supposed to know????? I THOUGHT IT WOULD JUST LEAD TO A FUN MINIGAME how was I to know it was life or death (in blitzball)…. I did Google whether I needed it to win and results varied. But before I get judged I spent about 40 min trying to grasp the entire blitzball tutorial and things still didn’t wrap around until I began playing and EVEN THEN I wanted to cry and rage quit. Something I have never needed to do in all my life!!!!!! Then I thought fine whatever I’ll just let the game do it’s thing and maybe try to give the ball to Tidus as much as possible if that’s my only shot and lord almighty I couldn’t even get one point in. The ai would score so much and I swear I paid attention. Imagine me mid game pausing just to google 10+ year old forum answers on whether I can just do the bare minimum and still win. I don’t even think I needed to win??? But the other team was so mean to us …. LIKE I WANTED TO WIN….. but I’m not capable of it. I knew it when I first started the tutorial too versus the real game I truly am so disinterested in this kind of minigame (the least mini of mini games I’ve ever played ever) that I don’t care. Like I’m just so so frustrated that it’s 3am im writing this post just to vent about how I want to keep playing ffx but not at the cost of this stupid side game that shouldn’t even take me more than 15 min to play!!!!!

I should’ve known from this part in the tutorial that this was bullshit fr. Look I know its not like all of the mechanics were rocket science, if I took 1 day to actually study the game I would BUT WHY WOULD I DO THAT. WHY WOULD I WASTE MY TIME AND DO THAT. I am just so put off at this point from this game simply because of blitzball. Sorry to Tidus and his quest for home and all but it will not come true because I cannot stand playing blitzball. 🤬

Where i am now: I paused at the end kinda when Wakka comes in at the end of the game. I couldn’t score a single point so it was just left at 2-0. I really don’t care anymore I will just lose the game because I’m sick of it. But damn I was really trying okay. Kinda. I hate being petty but we’ll see if I want to even pick it up as a whole game again when I wake tmrw after this experience lol

To be extremely honest I kinda began ffx as a total “wouldn’t it be funny if?” type game for me because I know what I like and dislike in games and this one bordered that for me so I was genuinely curious to see how far I’d last. But this blitzball game is so far into my dislikes that it actually bums me out because the storytelling is so in my lane. I don’t want to quit just yet but I will say now if blitzball gets any worse I’m out. That truly is my last straw lmao. Also it seems like a very long game otherwise and even that is a struggle for me to comprehend. Plus battles are even going to get worse and I can barely slide by during those… idk it is looking grim for the mariel partakes in final fantasy era 😭
