HELLO I DID A THING

So y'all remember that blorbo contest from last week? Yeah, me too. I was originally going to draw something of Nimona, Ambrosius, and my oc, Charlotte (Ambrosius's half sister) cheering for Bal during the contest. Then I had homework and didn't have time, but I still wanted to draw something.

AND SO, 16 HOURS AND 9 MINUTES LATER, IT WAS BORN. FEAST YOUR EYES, MY FRIENDS, ON MY NEWEST (master)PIECE.

I looked at MANY references for Ambrosius, Ballister, and Nimona (and even Charlotte because I can never remember how to draw her face). I did my best but this was my first time drawing canon characters (along with an oc) in a really, really long time. Also, I ran out of layers, so that's why that banner looks like shit (absolutely no other reason). It probably isn't clear, but Charlotte is sort of nudging Ballister's arm while he laughs at Ambrosius's antics and flirting. And yes, Charlotte's taller than him (I kept calling her and Ambrosius "the twins" even though they aren't twins). I should also like to dedicate this piece to @sir-ballister-boldheart who was (at least according to my feed) leading the charge for Bal during this poll.

Was really worried I wouldn't do Nims justice, but I actually really like how she turned out. And no matter what you headcanon Nimona as (trans, genderfluid, etc), she'd definitely support both and so I gave her some little pins on her jacket. Also, rings. I think she'd like rings. The little design on her skirt thing is meant to resemble Charlotte's tattoo because they're buddies and Nimona is Charlotte's 1000 year old little sister.

Charlotte is Charlotte. I like this little casual outfit for her (drawing is just a way for me to play dress-up with my OCs, honestly).

THE MAN OF THE HOUR. I didn't give him the exact outfit that he wears in the movie, but I'm well aware that it's pretty similar. I was out of creative juice last night (I finished Nimona today when my creative juices had been replenished).

AMBROSIUS, MY DEAR. My fav. I literally gave him a sister because I love him so much. Tried to make him feel like his usual goofy self. But also DAMN HIS HAIR. WHY IS IT LIKE THAT? SIR, I'M GOING TO SUE YOU FOR THIS HAIR.

I have to say that your breakdown of themes and issues in the prequels is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

I’m still always surprised that not everyone sees it this way because

1. That’s clearly how it’s intended to be viewed.

2. It always just seems so plainly spelled out for us.

I am not an Anakin fan, I have more of a love/hate dynamic with him, but it seems like it’s Anakin apologists above anyone else who like to demonise the Jedi and I just don’t get how people don’t realise you don’t have to choose one or the other. The downfall of Anakin and the Jedi go hand in hand because they were both manipulated by Palpatine. It really takes away from the emotional impact of the story if you don’t acknowledge that the Jedi were a genuinely good group of people who did support Anakin to the best of their ability, he was just convinced that that wasn’t actually the case.

Although I do feel empathy for the hardships Anakin endured, the Jedi had such a beautiful culture and way of life and people are missing out on so much by pretending they’re the “real villains”.

Also it was obviously genocide. How is there even a debate about that? I don’t know if there’s ever been an entirely successful genocide in history because it’s essentially impossible to completely eradicate a group of people but that doesn’t stop it from being classified as genocide. If you have to argue that it technically isn’t genocide, you probably don’t have the strong argument you think you do.

I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't want this blog to be a platform for people to debate if the Jedi were "really good" or not with me (hence my blog description) and I don't really like getting into debates with people who are anti-Jedi or Anakin apologists.

Firstly because, in order to think the Jedi are the "bad guys" of Star Wars, it requires a certain level of bad faith assumptions, ignorance, and disregard of literally everything that canon shows us.

Secondly, because I have anger issues and it's kinda hard to work on controlling my anger and not letting it control me when I'm arguing with people who--at best are saying the Jedi caused their genocide, and at worst are saying they deserved it. Especially since Star Wars is my comfort franchise and the Jedi are my comfort characters--so it's just frustrating to see them so mischaracterized.

I'm glad my 2 am anger-induced, sleep deprived, aggressive rant resonated with you, though lol

I'm not a big fan of Anakin either and I'm largely of the opinion that Anakin caused most of the problems he had in general, but I'm not completely unsympathetic to him--my main issue lies with his apologists.

I don't really care if other people like him, I can see the appeal and I get that he's your blorbo. I also don't really care if other people don't like the Jedi, I have the "anti-Jedi" and "Jedi critical" tags blocked for a reason. I don't engage in debates with these people because I know it's pointless, and I leave them be--let them have their side of the internet and I have mine.

I do, however, have a problem with people coming onto my blog and posting their ignorant, bad-faith arguments. Like what you like, have your opinions, but keep them out of my space. Y'know?

I'm all for letting people like what they like and have different opinions on the media and leaving them be, but the moment you come onto my blog- (which literally says "this is a Pro-Jedi blog, fuck off with any Anti Jedi bullshit you have and keep it to your own page") -and start spouting that shit is the moment all of that flies out the window.

And yes, it's insane that the words "well, it wasn't actually a genocide" were actually present in that person's argument.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

i have some...complicated feelings about buck and chris's relationship and how that's portrayed/talked about especially in how it reflects on eddie. i say shit like THATS HIS DAD and THEYVE BEEN COPARENTING FOR YEARS because they HAVE and i think in a lot of ways buck loves chris like he's his and chris CLEARLY sees buck as a parental figure and eddie REPEATEDLY and PURPOSEFULLY puts buck in that role and is comfortable with him in that role.

where i get the ick is when that's pushed into this idea that chris needs buck, that eddie needs buck, in order for their family to be complete. and i don't know that i can articulate this well bc eddie does need buck, and chris needs buck too. but i also think it is so so important to recognize that eddie is a great father (despite a rough start) and that they were (and would continue to be) just fine without him.

i've even struggled with how i've written this relationship in fic, because it can be a tough line to toe.

i suspect that fandom subconciously leans in to this idea that buck can swoop in and save eddie and chris in large part because buck is white and eddie isn't. and i know that i'm icked by it more because of that.

and this is probably related, but i don't think chris would ever start calling buck anything but buck. the idea that a kid needs to call someone dad/mom/whatever for them to be "important" is bullshit. my best friend and i's kids call us by our first names but they also refer to us as their 'other mom'. i've always called my stepdad by the nickname everyone else calls him. buck has been in chris's life a long time; i don't think he's gonna start calling him something different if they finally get together and/or get married.

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

taylor and shannon and lucy on 911. fandom loves to hate any woman that's even vaguely connected to one of the boys. i like taylor because she's interesting, and i appreciate seeing a woman who puts herself and her career first. we see men do that all the time. i don't hate taylor for being selfish. i don't want her with buck, but i think their relationship was SO interesting and was important for buck figuring out what he wants.

i LOVE shannon and i have loved shannon from the beginning. people love to hate her and say she's a terrible mother for abandoning her child. but she was a young woman in an impossible position who had NO help from her partner for YEARS. she tried to do what she thought was best for her son, her mother, and herself. eddie wouldn't GIVE her that space so she TOOK it. and good for her, honestly. did it hurt chris that she left? absolutely. would people judge a father as harshly for doing EXACTLY the same thing? absolutely not. shannon loved her kid, she tried to do her best, but she was pushed well past her breaking point (which eddie is largely to blame for - yes i can love my blorbos and admit they have flaws GASP) and everyone had to deal with the fallout.

lucy is hot and badass and interesting and if you watch her kiss with buck and think anything other than 'fuck, that's hot' then we will simply never agree and i'm not going to argue with you. get off her ass, she's incredible and i want her back.

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

miscommunication based pining. i can do it for a little bit, but my nightmare is a 100k+ fic rated t tagged slow burn and mutual pining. JUST OPEN YOUR DAMN MOUTH! AAAAAAHHHHHH!! i can do SOME pining bc yearning can be really delicious but when the whole reason 2 people are pining for seven billion words is because nobody will just TALK it makes me insane.

23. ship you've unwillingly come around to

oooh this is tricky bc i am a multishipper to my CORE i want everybody fuckin everybody and falling in love all over the place give it to meeeeee. i feel like the only ship i've ever really been AGAINST is thorki, and that's largely bc of people arguing that it doesn't "count" as incest bc loki was adopted, which pisses me the fuck off. the actual ship i don't really have beef with and i'm sure i would read a fic if someone sent it to me and it was good. idk. it takes a lot for me to be like, ew, absolutely not.

currently we deep in the k-pop trenches, collecting lil blorbos with compelling narratives and dynamics to smack together like dolls. specifically i've been writing for Seventeen lately, and previously for TXT and BTS, and because i am me, i write niche inter-band shit and collected a couple soloists to throw in for seasoning.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Addicted (to loving you) (Teen Wolf scott/stiles. no, idk either. please don't read it.)

pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks (checkpls bitty/jack/kent. pure fluff no substance the people love it)

yes, all the time! it takes negligible time and brain power for me, and i like to let people know how much i appreciated hearing their thoughts, even when it was just a thank you and then we're in a lil awkward thanking circle.

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

ok, i think it just has to be a tie between "only time is ours" and "34 Days", which are check please kent/jack fics about the same pre-canon break-up events, the first from jack's pov and the second from kent's (tho iirc they have different interpretations of events beyond the pov switch, too). they are inherently angsty bc absolutely nothing is good at the end of them.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

this is so hard to decide, bc i primarily write romcoms and by the end of them if your teeth aren't rotting i did it wrong. i will give a shoutout to "doesn't matter what we do", a bts jimin/j-hope that is all about just Letting Urself Be Soulmates and then grossing out ur bandmates about it.

Do you get hate on fics?

no, thank god.

Do you write smut?

yes i have been known to write filth. sometimes the romcom plot calls for it. i'm horrible at pwp bc i'm always giving it plot, but u kno, sometimes the spirit moves me and i manage it.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

crossovers of fandoms that have nothing to do with each other actually kind of squick me - i'm talking crossovers where characters who have never and will never meet are there for no reason (think superwholock tbh, tho i was uncharacteristically a lil into that at the time), not fusions or big universes with diff shows or whatever. it's just not for me!

but in terms of things where it's less drastic (crossing over bands in k-pop, for example) i am all over that, bc there's interesting stuff from real life there! my craziest example atm is a baekho/jun fic, and like, it's not that crazy!

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

i don't think so!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes, it's always so awesome that someone wants to take the time to do that.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

yessssss, my favourite way to create fic.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

this is an extremely insensitive thing to ask a ship whore like me. there are some ships that REALLY set my brain on fire over the years, though. check pls kent/jack drives me insane to this day. harry styles/nick grimshaw was So compelling. 2012 oilers "kid line" (nugent-hopkins/hall/eberle) went off.

often fandom really makes these ships worth it to talk about and inspires me to contribute. i am often very compelled by one character in particular and just ship them with everyone possible so i can examine all their sides.

What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

hmmmm if i WANT to finish it, i probably will. there are things that i ended up abandoning, though. one of those i'm still kinda sad about was a dylan/mitch/auston sequel to my connor/rystro.

What are your writing strengths?

i write realistic dialogue and i'm great at characterization (shoutout to the mean comment i got circa 2010 telling me to get good at characterization. i did. thanks.) my voice has always been strong, too.

What are your writing weaknesses?

i sometimes slack on depicting the interior emotions of characters. i'm not great with setting or exposition because the brand of fanfic i tend to write isn't a great place to practice those skills. i try to find places to do it, though!

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

it's the norm in k-pop fandom to drop in localization things like honorifics, and i like it because it can communicate relationships between the characters and so that it's not SO divorced from the context the idols actually live in. this is such a weirdly specific question, idk what else to say about it lmao

Favorite fic you’ve written?

choosing between my children? ok. at the moment i'm quite fond of too real to call it magic, a contemporary fantasy au where the main character is stuck in a dream. i felt really good about what i did with the themes and setting of the source material (a mv, so you're only 3mins and a quick google of the main characters' names away from reading this fic!) and the way i developed the relationship. it's underrated af bc it's a niche pairing.

ALRIGHT. Let me tell you about Stallion Quartermane the way I see him: Italian, trans, and ABSOLUTE BLORBO. because ur tags almost indicated interest in my interp of him and I want to rotate him at you if you don't mind :3

So, him being italian. My brain could not fucking wrap around Stallion Quartermane being the only Marleybonian horse. I *GET* that it's an animal pun to Allan Quatermain, a British character written by a British author, but MY BRAIN WOULD NOT LET ME BE OKAY WITH IT. So instead I was like 'okay do we have other European horses? Oh yes we do! The Valencians! (they're unicorns not horses but shhhhh maybe Stallion was just born different or maybe unhorned horsefolk exist in Valencia IDK)'. Hence, Italian Stallion Quartermane.

And him being transmasc. It was an accident. I was writing something. Like a snippet of the Old One's records about Stallion. And I misgendered Stallion via typo: I meant to write 'male' and instead wrote 'mare'. I.E., a female horse. I did not notice the typo until like MONTHS later when I went to look for that old writing. And instead of correcting it, I was like 'fuck it. He's transmasc now. Oldie was writing about Stallion's physicality as an AFAB horse or whatever' And because I myself am transmasc, I got to PROJECT shit onto Stallion now :D

So now he's two major degrees of separation different from his canon self. And there was a lot I could explore with like... his personal assimilation and him stuffing his nationality AND his genderqueerness in a closet, and how something something connecting that to how he founded the SGS whose main goal is to discover and assimilate nations into the Marleybonian empire and stuff their cultures into a storage closet or museum.

And in my AU of Wizard101, the story diverges from canon before Arc 4 can begin. Which means I have a Stallion with an intensely new and different PRESENT as well as as PAST. And he's physically incapable of going on his canon arc in Lemuria because canon is now broken, which gives him the opportunity to become a completely different character.

It's so fun. He's colonized my braincells and I've queerified his. I am normal (lie) about this old man

I am most definitely interested in hearing your thoughts! :D I really adore the heroes of Lemuria, and even if Stallion Quartermane isn't my favorite of that group, he is still the template for all of them, and I think his character is a lot of fun. I love his upbeat voice and his little catchphrase of, "To adventure!" 🥰 I also love hearing opinions about characters from people who have stronger opinions about them than me! 💖

That's so interesting about all of the Valencians being unicorns! :0 I actually didn't notice that before--or rather, I didn't make the distinction between the horse characters and the unicorn characters! The only other horses besides Quartermane that I can think of are the Golden Horde from Catmandu, at the beginning of Novus. Fascinating! Maybe he has family from both Valencia and Marleybone, or he's a Valencian who was raised in Marleybone? 🤔

That is hilarious about the male/mare typo! 😆 It's like a Freudian slip, but for uncovering the trans potential of a beloved character 💕✨ I also think it's really fun to have a trans headcanon for a character who fits into a stereotypical/gendered role. Quartermane is a rugged, dashing adventurer--but somehow, his performance is so over-the-top that it comes across as campy, almost. He reminds me a lot of Sea Hawk from the She-Ra reboot! C: They even have the same catchphrase!

That's super cool about your AU, too! I love altering things in canon to see how characters would react under different circumstances and how they might grow into different people when the story is tweaked even a little bit to the left :) I support Stallion Quartermane being trans and Italian, not just in your AU but in the canon material, as well! 🇮🇹🏳️‍⚧️

How many words have you written this year?

In the four months I've been actively writing this year I have published: 390,729 words (holy fuckin shit!!!!!)

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

Definitely proud of [Fooled Around (and Fell in Love)], just due to the length of it and because I hadn't read any really healthy polyamory fics about my blorbos, so I'm so happy there is one now!

9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

JJ/Tara!!!!! I just absolutely fell in love with them after finishing Fooled Around and I've written quite a [bit] [more] [with this pair]. I think they're an extremely underrated pairing in the CM fandom!

11. What work took you the longest to write?

My current WIP [Between You & Me] was started a month ago and still has more to go. Which is flipping wild bc it's only 30k right now....while Fooled Around is 168k and that took me about three and a half weeks to write

13. What’s your longest work of the year?

As mentioned above! [Fooled Around (and Fell in Love)] is 168,268 WC which is also my longest work in general. (Second longest is only 39k)

15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

Not sure if [Between You & Me] will be finished by the end of the year or not (Fingers Crossed!) Also, [To Catch an Unsub] which I have decided to finish after leaving it on a cliffhanger since 2015!

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? Oh man, oh man, oh man. Let's see if I can narrow it down to top five? I wrote 51 works so far this year. It's hard to pick just ONE! (Welp, this post is about to become mature content lmao)

What does that mean?" Emily asked Garcia, figuring Garcia would be up to date on slang. "Oh god. Emily, she probably called you a MILF," Garcia corrected, cackling. "It means Mom I'd Like to Fuck." "But I don't have kids," Emily replied. "I have kids! What'd she look like Emily?" JJ asked excitedly. "JJ, NO!" Garcia yelled. [HEATED - Tara/Emily]

And I make very thirsty comments & posts about my blorbos, so just keep that in mind. However!! I am not going to restrict anyone from following/interacting with my blog. 🌌About Me!🪐

Basic info - You can call me either Orion or Riley! I'm 25, neurodivergent, trans masc & nonbinary, and bisexual with pref for men. Pronouns are he/him and they/them. I do also live in New Mexico (born and raised babyy!), which makes the shows that much more special to me!! I'm very friendly and open, but also very shy, so I tend to not reach out to folks even when I want to talk to them (which, honestly, is most of y'all. Oops.) If you ever do feel compelled to chat with me, please don't hesitate! I'm super excited to talk about BrBa/BCS with literally anybody!

I'm a writer, but I struggle hard with getting anything actually published on here or AO3. I try to write but it's not nearly consistent enough to ever expect anything from me. I'm working towards getting better at this! My main hurdle to overcome is my perfectionism and my fear of rejection (RSD).

I have a lot of interests, being autistic, so the only important one to list here is obviously Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul. You can certainly ask about my other interests, and I'll be happy to tell you more! I like to keep my special interests all separate on their own dedicated blogs, so that was the main motivation behind creating this one. Which leads me to the next section:

Any Knox Charlie fic recs? Love yours!

Hey anon! First of all—thank you so much! You just made my day. Second of all—you bet! (Recs below the cut).

In no particular order...

how soon is now? by carryyourownbanner - If you're chill with an AU, I cannot stress enough how wonderful this fic is. Seriously, it feels criminal to be able to read it for free. The dialogue is absolutely delightful, there's both romance and friendship, and a lot of it simply resonates regarding growing pains and being queer—in my humble opinion and experience. (Just a note, it is a W.I.P. Most other fics on this list are complete if that's what you're looking for!).

speak low if you speak love by carryyourownbanner - If you want something that feels more canon-esque*, I still gotta throw in some c.y.o.b. This fic takes place after Neil's play, and is perfect if you enjoy a pinch (a pinch) of arguing, some great banter, and ultimately, warm mushy feelings inside. (*the events that canonically take place after the play are not a part of this 'verse). we keep it secret won't let them have it by circlegame - I would proudly get upon a soapbox and preach the circlegame gospel. In fact, please feel free to picture me shouting words of affirmation from here on out. If you're like me and find drama, affairs, and the like greatly appealing in fiction, this is le fic for you. It's both sweet and sad, and just really strikes a chord for me. Adore this.

you know that you want it back by circlegame - Yes, I am still on my soapbox. You can drag me off it once I drop dead. Again, a bit angsty, but our blorbos work it out in the end. (That's not a spoiler, it's in the tags, please don't burn me at the stake, <3). This fic crawled under my skin and made a home inside my ribcage. Love it! Right... what is it about, you ask? Charlie and Knox get their shit together. I think that's an OK summary. ;)

Just Like Starting Over by justahappylittletree - Full disclosure, this fic is also a W.I.P. Every time I get an email saying it's been updated, my day gets a little better. It's technically part of a series, but totally works as a standalone. It's a bit of a slow build and follows Knox and Charlie's college experience. A lot of fun, a perfect mix of angst and softness. (I recommend that you read the tags for some very minor content warnings).

good grief by heartofwinterfell - I don't have the words to describe how brilliant this modern college AU is. I'll try, though—deliciously funny, a delight to read, and wonderfully paced. The pining in this is so, so sweet.

If I Needed Someone by aml13 - Once again, full disclosure, this fic is a W.I.P. Regardless, this list would not be complete without it. As far as I can tell and recall, it's the longest Charlie/Knox centric fic out there. The slow burn is excellent, no other way to say it. Warm and fuzzy feelings all around. Oh, and I should probably give you a brief run-down. Fake dating trope, college AU, modern AU, hilarious. arsonist's lullaby by fayefaith - A shortie but a goodie—to outsiders, Charlie seems like a shit boyfriend, but he actually does love Knox a whole very much. (As we all know he does).

I think these eight fics are a great place to start. I've certainly got more recs, though—feel free to shoot me another ask sometime if you want more. Thanks again for the ask! 1)how many works do you have on AO3?

SO. i'm doing this with my main account as opposed to just the pseud i actively post on, so uhhhh. this and the next two questions are not counting the 9-fic 470k word series i orphaned a few years ago that i occasionally check in on to see how it's doing. i have... drumroll... 104 works posted on AO3 since February of 2016!

2)what's your total AO3 word count?

2,000,622 words!

4)do you respond to comments? why or why not?

i respond to comments on my current fics, especially because they're pretty niche - kotor and swtor mostly - and so i don't get a lot of them, and i crave interaction. i haven't responded to the comments on a lot of my older ones because i got a lot and it simply got too difficult to keep up with - for example, dylm has 491 comments and that's a bit much to actively respond to all of them

5)what's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

oh god this one is difficult. probably a rogue one fic back in 2017 i wrote based off the song whiskey lullaby, which is uhhh pretty damn angsty. for the most part i don't tend to end fics with angst, so all my angst is in the middle, and Let Me Tell You What there is a lot of it! but i like healing and growth and change and resolution and happiness so my fics tend to at least end bittersweetly?

6)what's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

uhhhh hm that's a hard one. i don't usually write explicit fluff either. probably it would be the one and only doctor who longfic i wrote way back in 2016 which ended with a wedding, which i am not linking because it is very old and not good writing and you can find it if you dig really hard.

7)do you write crossovers?

crossovers, not so much. fusions, absolutely yes, i love taking my favorite sw blorbos and putting them into new fandoms. i've got a hunger games fusion back when i wrote for tcw, there's a swtor/mass effect fusion siting in my drafts, and ofc my main project right now is a kotor/swtor/hp fusion that i am very proud of!

8)have you ever received hate on a fic?

i sure have. my very very first fanfic, which i posted on ffn, got outright hate yelling at me saying i'd clearly never watched the canon before lol. was sure an Experience as a very insecure 17 year old new to writing! also i wrote for some pretty ""problematic"" ships back in the day so i used to get shit for that, but that's a bit different imo

9)do you write smut? if so, what kind?

UNFORTUNATELY yes i do. none of it is posted yet, the only scene i've finished needs a lot more of the hp au posted before it has the context it needs, but i do in fact write smut. mostly it is full of emotions like angst and also so many horrible Dynamics, either dead dove or like, D/s shit, or what have you. vanilla sex is incredibly boring to my very ace mind and so i don't really have any interest in reading or writing it.

10)have you ever had a fic stolen?

not as such, but i have seen someone who very very closely copied a fic idea of mine once, including similar plot beats. it wasn't as well-written though so i ignored it.

11)have you ever had a fic translated?

not to my knowledge!

12)have you ever co-written a fic before?

oh god have i. i spent two and a half years writing tcw fic with @ellis-thescribbler, which was a very enjoyable time and ended in 2020. now i split my time between solo projects and a few different things i've got going with @ipreferfiction!

13)what's your all time favorite ship?

oh god this is a hard one. this is a really difficult one. it depends what hyperfixation i'm into at the moment. i still have a soft spot for codywan and rebelcaptain, but i think my favorite is probably going to end up being revalek. it just has all the dynamics i love and many of my favorite tropes are very common for it! i'm also incredibly attached to a couple of exceedingly rarepair ships that are the fault of the discord server and also AC and i interacting without supervision but the only one of those i can list is Cassus Fett/Mandalore the Ultimate. the others make me sound insane.

14)what's a WIP that you want to finish, but don't think you ever will?

i have two of these, both from my tcw days, which won't ever be finished because i no longer write with the other author involved. those would be the all i ask of you series, which is a tcw/hunger games fusion, and the other is the lullabies series, which is a huge rewrite of the latter half of tcw.

15)what are your writing strengths?

oh hmmm this is difficult to answer as i'm not very objective about my own writing. i have been told i am good at fight scenes before, and as much as i hate writing them i do feel fairly confident with them. i like to think i am decent at putting emotion into my narration and making the prose really feel like it belongs to the characters. crowdsourced from my discord: i am apparently very good at fluid prose and vivid descriptions. that is word for word.

16)what are your writing weaknesses?

i have always struggled with coming up with sideplots, and with juggling large casts of characters in scenes, both of which are being heavily tested in my novelization of kotor. i also feel like i spend a lot of time saying the same things over and over again while trying to write description, but description is Hard so

17)what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

well, given that i do this a lot.... i don't always go hunt down conlang words, sometimes i'll just indicate other languages by italicizing the dialogue, but i definitely do it. in a setting as varied as star wars, there are so many other languages, and especially when writing nonhuman characters i like to show that they're nonhuman in more ways than one.

18)what was the first fandom you wrote for?

doctor who, back in 2016! god but it feels like ages since then

19)what's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet, but want to?

Shepard/Kaidan, mass effect. Shepard/Javik, also mass effect. most of my swtor ships exist in my head but i haven't actually written them out on paper yet. mostly i just want to write for mass effect in general, and also dragon age, but i need to finish the dragon age games before i can write for them

20)what's your favorite fic you've written?

i have a few! war has let this age begin (it's where we've gone and where they've been) is the first solo longfic i've written and finished in a long long time and i'm pretty happy with parts of it. it's better to love (whether you win, lose, or die) has some prose that i feel like is probably some of the best i've written, and i'm pretty damn happy with it. and, frankly, the Vader + Ahsoka rebels fic i linked above in the kudos section, tell the world (i'm coming home), which is a Vader defects fic that explores redemption and i like a lot.

finally, i have to add an honorable mention to sharing beds like little kids (but that will never be enough), for the sheer worldbuilding fun i've had writing it, and where i know it's going. when it finishes, with all million+ words that series is going to have, it's going to be my favorite thing of all time.
