Lockwood and Co Flash Fiction Challenge 10 Wrap Up

Shattered Mirrors After the Bickerstaff case, George isn't handling things very well. Thankfully, Lockwood and Lucy are there to take care of him.

Nnoitra headcanon and stuff?

I'm more the canon-compliant type and do not have big headcanon a part from few things.

1) I think Nnoitra is a very immediate kind of person. I read many hc and fics where he is super tormented behind his grim and sadistic facade... btw, I think he is rather matter-of-factly in his drives and decisions. He likes to win, he doesn't mind to cheat to gain the upper hand, he is arrogant but upfront. If you ever read von Clausewitz, he is that crystal clear, cruel and unapologetic kind of "upfront". The real desperation comes from accepting and embracing the nonsensical violence that comes with the strive for survival. I respect that in him.

2) I think he doesn't obsess that much about sex and speaks about it more than he actually practices it. Btw, he likes his sex torrid and dirty, and clearly revolving around dynamics of submission-control, exactly because he is fine with violence and brutality and accepts them as part of the game.

Also, dirty talker af, likes to see how much he can arouse his partner.

3) I have this idiotic hc that he is the only Espada capable of sexual reproduction, exactly because of the desperate self-assertiveness of his personality.

4) I don't think his mysoginy is real. Yammy Yargo's is. When he says Neliel and Tesla Lindocruz he detests women fighting, I think he is being tranchant and over-semplifying feelings he simply doesn't care to explore.

5) I think he truly detests two things about women: a) women can bring life in their womb. This is how much opposite to despair as you might think. b) Women generally get protected and their lovers tend to fight for them: this is despicable, in Nnoitra's view, as he doesn't accept or either stand the "optimistic" implication of love and protection. If you are bereaved of all hopes, you will likely despise and spurn anything people generally hope for or that gives them strenght to thrive.

6) I have this headcanon he is too thin and someone sooner or later will try to feed him, the granny "Are you eating enough, son?" kind of feeding, you know. I'm Italian, food is love, feeding is caring.

7) I think he is fine with his nudity, perhaps a bit of an exhibitionist, too.

8) Everything about him is big. Yes, that thing too.

9) He has a strong but not unpleasant scent, like... salty, you know, like wet seasand.

10) Seems like he would listen a lot of low-quality rap music and probably delve into trashy whatever.

11) He is the guy sending you pics of ghastly and/or offensive/blasphemous things just for the sake of ruining your day.

12) His car would be big, noisy and annoying, an old bull-barred Jeep or so.

13) I see him more like a cat person. Perhaps he could even show a decent behaviour to his pet.

14) Seems a rather unexpensive dude, not minding to have costy dresses or such.

15) Has a taste for bitter stuff like 99% cocoa.

16) Good with hands. Yeah, in that sense too but I meant more like fixing stuff, tinkering, ecc.

17) Cannot sing decently or even play ant instrument, but is an excellent dancer.

18) Loves kids toys, they fascinate him.

I wouldn't say he's a ray of sunshine, but definitely fun company; I think we'd get along :D

He's got all the trauma that comes along with being an arrancar, but his mentality is definitely one of the healthier ones in always striving to push past his boundaries and not let himself get weighed down by his past (whether he's successful is a different story, but his intention is to be forward-looking)

He's not scary-smart like Aizen-level, but he's definitely extremely sharp and intelligent, much more so than most people (characters and fans alike) give him credit for

He's definitely not entirely at peace with life but he's also not out to fight the world in the sense that, for instance, Aizen is; I think he's content with how Hueco Mundo is structured, and will merely fight for his place within that.

I love messing with him in my art and fics, but at the end of the day, I want him to be well and happy :) I'm also very satisfied with the ending he got in canon.

He is either 0 or 100+ in terms of intensity, there is no in-between XD

His backstory extra was so sad, everyone needs to read it

He'd never call himself a sidekick owner, but Yammy was absolutely his sidekick

I don't think he'd actually pet stray animals, but he would 100% engage with them, talk to them in the same tone of voice he talks to Yammy XD

I see him as functioning at two extremes -- utter apathy or utter obsession -- which makes most of his qualities even out at the middle lmao. And with most things (sadistic vs helpful, rebellious vs content, etc.) he's just not invested enough to be anything but neutral unless you're Orihime, Ichigo, or Grimmjow, and then he gets triggered for different reasons

He mostly follows the rules to the letter with absolute conviction, except in some teeny tiny instances where he ever so slightly changes them, and he definitely gaslights himself into not seeing how he's behaving so he believes he is still just a neutral party XD

I was originally okay with his ending -- a very thematically satisfying conclusion to his character arc... back when I fully believed Bleach was going to be a no end-romance/open ending type of story. Now that it's proven that it's not, I am far from content (: His realization seems hollow (ha! lol) in the light of what comes after, the impact of his final fight on several other characters seems negligible which cheapens it, and certain... not plot holes, exactly, but rather inconsistencies in a character's behavior, that I was willing to gloss over initially, I now want a real explanation for. He also needs freedom, catharsis, and a warm blanket. Hence, fanfic! :D

Before I found your blog i didn't like Nnoitra at all but you completely changed my feelings, i love him so much now! You're so good at writing the arrancar and giving them tons more depth, would you consider doing something for Yammy (he's one of my og favs but no one likes him v_v) i think if anyone could flesh him out better its you

Ah, yes, my favorite recurring compliment! XD I get the "I never liked this character until your writing happened" one a lot, and I adore it every time. Truly satisfying to know my characterization skills win over the most hesitant among my readers.

As for your question.... you're really issuing me a challenge here. >.> I hope you're aware of that. Yammy is the ONE Arrancar I've never been able to work up any particular positive feelings for. Gantenbainne also kind of qualifies, but that's probably because I don't think I've EVER had anyone ask about him. But on the Yammy account, my apathy is at a level where I typically exclude him from my fics (also so Lilynette can be a proper Espada). Asking me to make Yammy appealing is a tough one.

However, I've forever been adamant that all Arrancar are good, and if we're going to put me in a position of having to prove that, it's not like I can say no. >:D I have a reputation to uphold here.

Especially for the sake of giving someone's underappreciated fav the attention they deserve, I'll figure something out!

So, anon, if you're still here, I'd appreciate it if you'd send me a couple more Yammy asks. Character develop-y kind of stuff. Actually, I'm just giving all of you permission to do that. Regular "request"-type stuff may also be accepted, but more meta-related things are preferred. Time to fix this particular series of Kubo's mistakes~

Ok, hopefully finishing today the Jealous!Jean x Reader contract marriage AU fic. Then I have a few requests I am jumping around to complete like a Kuchiki Byakuya forbidden romance with a human (ngl pretty stoked about this one because I love me some angst)

I also have more Usopp in the works, several Law requests (you guys love Law, huh!) there's Yammy and some more Levi Ackerman, and a few headcanons requests. It's a mixed bag right now in my inbox. Pretty darn cool I'm just sad my four day weekend wasted away already ;~;

So I was scrowlling through AO3 looking for some yammy Nightwing fabfic prefencially one batfam related or focused on Dick relationship wit Wally or just DickKori except I didn't filter shit because I have worse memory than a goldfish and forgot so boom I find a fic of Dick Grayson/OFC with r*pe as tag and my brain goes "Oh great Devin Grayson is writing fanfic again" with utter sarcasm and if this whole story isn't about how much of a loser I am the fact that my second though was I should post this joke on Tumblr because I laugh at my own bad jokes makes it be.

So yeah I'm a total loser. Also I don't like Devin Grayson and I'm not trying to offend anyone except her. Devin Grayson deserves it. So for the writer of that fanfic sorry for the improptu comparation with a shitty person I don't think you are an awfull human being different of her. Maybe you are. IDK. And I'm now conflicted over whatever the fuck this is because I'm an overthinker loser. So yeah. I suck too so it's okay.
