It wasn’t until they were back to wolvendom did razor finally sit Bennett down and kneel in front of him

Bennett just stared, thumb in his mouth again, stars still in his eyes

Awkward head pats

Benny just giggled and flopped onto Razor’s lap, snuggling into him

Help the wolfboy he’s confused again

“… Uhm… Bennett… still… wolf pup?”

There was a short pause, but Bennett just nodded slowly

He was definitely embarrassed and it showed

Razor just patted his head again

“… You… are happier. Before— Bennett look sad. Now… happy. Being wolf pup… makes… Bennett happy?”

The stars in Bennett’s eyes came back immediately

He nodded again, nuzzling his head into Razor’s shoulder

“… Then… Razor… take care of wolf pup.”

Bennett couldn’t stop the big smile that came onto his lips

But before he knew it he was yawning

Razor just kept patting his head, soon moving to his back, like how he would with the baby wolves he sometimes had to watch, smiling a little.

“… Wolf pup Benny rest… Razor keep watch. Wolf pup is safe… with Razor.”
