Back to my seasonal wives au because I can.
So, as explained in the previous post, the seasonal wives are the chosen temporary partners of the four seasons, aka the Bridgerton brothers. Think of it as like a sacrificial bride type of situation. The wives can be wives for either just a season or a few years. They are marked over their hearts, and when the mark disappears, they are done with their duty. They are seen as very desirable after and are well compensated. Each town offers up a bride based on a rotation schedule.
Kathony - Fall
Mark: A tree with multi colored leaves
Fall is probably one of the busiest seasons, from bringing in the harvest to gathering supplies for winter. The trees change color, and nature prepares to go dormant. Anthony has a lot on his plate during this season. Thankfully, he's got Kate there to force him to sit down and take a break. He was so serious before her, now she could have him playing. I'm the leaves with her with just one look. Despite how good Kate has been for Anthony, she wasn't the original choice. Anthony was going to originally mark her sister Edwina, but Kate had mistaken Anthony for a creep and got in his face. Trying to create some distance, Anthony tried to push her back but instead marked her. Well damn now he's stuck with her for at least the season. Anthony has probably had the most brides among his brothers, but a lot of his brides were more like business transactions than him desiring true companionship.
Benophie - Winter
Mark: Snowflakes
Benedict, like his season, is one of the most fickle of the brothers. He has actually switched brides mid-season because he felt like it, much to Anthony's annoyance. He really enjoys designing each snowflake. But his artist bohemian lifestyle can cause some issues with his responsibilities. Thus leading to fluffy snow one day and storms the next. Sophie's there to keep him on track, and inquire his mercy should he lose his temper. Benedict completely missed his choosing ceremony because he spotted Sophie in the crowd and decided he was gonna make her the new winter bride. It took him majority of fall to find Sophie again. By random luck he found her while she was doing some shopping for her employers and then proceeded to whisk her away. Sophie was pissed her shopping went to waste.
Polin - Spring
Mark: Blooming flowers
Colin and Penelope met randomly before she was chosen for a bride. Penelope was enjoying the spring's rain and dancing in it. A gust of wind took her bonnet, and it proceeded to hit Colin in the face. They struck up a friendship, and Colin honestly spent more time with her than his bride at the time. Penelope developed feelings for him during their friendship, but he left when summer came. She thought he was a travler based on his stories, so she believed him a nice what if. The next year is Penelope's hometown's turn to have a spring bride chosen. Colin recognized Penelope and placed his mark on her. As spring Colin's duty is to bring nature out of the dormant state, it was put in and breathe new life in. It is a delicate process, and unfortunately, Colin has a temper possibly the worst of his brothers. That's where Penelope steps in to either calm him down or fight back with him. She helps him find the best ways to help revive nature whether to be gentle with it or give it some tough love.
Grucy - Summer
Mark: The sun
Lucy is the newest of the wives and was picked by the other three. Gregory was having trouble finding a wife and love like his brothers had. He falls in and out of love too quickly. So he decided why not. Maybe to help find a good wife, he should consult his sisters in-laws. He asked his in-laws to please help him with this aeason's choosing. So they did just that. When one wasn't busy helping their husband with his season, she joined the other two as they looked through the town that would be responsible for producing the bride. They found Lucy. Since Gregory couldn't technically approach her until his season came he wrote letters and sent them via his in-laws. Lucy was surprised to see how much older tje brides were. She would have thought they were lying if they didn't have the undisputed proof of their marks. Gregory's job is probably one of the chillest of the brothers. His main responsibility is to make sure the growth Colin started in spring kept going through the summer, so it was ready for Anthony when fall came. There were a few summer plants he could harvest but nothing as big as Anthony's. It can get rather boring but Lucy is there to help keep him on track.

Bro whats going on with the Girls always being sidelined ?
Just saw the new despicable me trailer a few hours back, and now i have time to formulate an opinion. The producers are not going to let our girls grow up ? Like its clear that its been quite some time since Grucy now has a kid and junior seems to be about six to seven months old now ? Yet they don't look like they aged since the first movie.
Also they keep getting sidelined and underdeveloped. Like, these are core charathers of the series. Why do they never seem to get any charather development of any sorts ? We never see them adjust to the concept of getting a mom,living with their dad, a new baby brother....Edith and Agnes have really have no personality outside of being cute. Anyways, this might be me reading too much into a franchise intended for children.
They look sooo creepy here.I dont know if its the new animation or its something else. Also is it just me or does Edith have a different voice actress now ? )
It would be pretty awesome to see a despicable me sequel when the girls grow up ( not entirely adults ) and Vector returns.Just my two cents.

This Valdemar AU has really got me in its clutches. My brain has been having so much fun mentally writing the next couple chapters. I'm ACTUALLY still writing chapter 1, which is almost more of a prologue. We meet Newton the Companion, get a bit of info on Anthony's relationships with Violet and Benedict while Newton ponders his options. We'll see the reactions to him going on Search rather than Choosing Violet. And then we meet Kate and get her reaction to being Chosen.
It's once she gets to Haven that the humor comes out. Which will start in chapter 2. Some highlights include:
Herald-Chronicler Penelope bantering/bickering with Princess Eloise
Benedict being the next one to meet Kate, and Mind-speaking to Anthony that his new Monarch's Own is here and "she's very pretty."
Anthony greeting Kate, taking one look in her eyes and being lost. Then Mind-speaking to Benedict to berate him for calling Kate "very pretty" when she is the most beautiful woman in the world
Benedict realizing what just happened and calling the other 6 siblings together to inform them that "our idiot older brother has gone and gotten himself Lifebonded."
The Bridgersibs all being delighted with this and also finding it hilarious
Hyacinth pointing out to Kate that Hyacinth may be a princess, but as the Monarch's Own, Kate outranks everyone except Anthony. Then pointing out that since Kate and Anthony are Lifebonded, she's going to be Queen one day, "and even without Valdemar's different politics, a queen outranks a princess." (Kate has known Anthony for a week, at this point.)
A fun family meeting where the Bridgersibs try to determine if Anthony will actually be allowed to marry Kate. Led by head of Foreign Affairs, Prince Colin.
Today, my brain decided to start mentally writing the epilogue while I was eating dinner. It is very sweet, and it made me cry.
I am also trying to figure out which pairs are Lifebonded. Not all of the couples are, in part because of exactly what Lifebonding IS. Polin can't be, because a friends to lovers story doesn't WORK with a Lifebond. Franchael also can't be, because of the John situation. Grucy definitely is, though. Gregory being a hopeless romantic with a tendency to fall in love at first sight works PERFECTLY with a Lifebond.
Other things I'm still working on are everybody's Gifts, who is and is not a Herald, exactly what everyone DOES (including who I'm going to make my weaponsmaster), and who knows what else. But it's fun.

Modern Bridgerton couples + Pets
Just thinking about which kind of domesticated menaces they would bring into their homes.
Saphne: their first pet is definitely a Basset Hound because Daphne is a dork. Name is Princess, she is super cute. Simon later decides he can't take being outnumbered and gets a Pitbull (with some manly name like Maverick) to teach Princess how to be a good guardian dog. Jokes on him the Pitbull ends up twice as spoiled as the Basset hound and follows him everywhere huffing for cuddles.
Kanthony: They have Newton the demon corgi, although they probably get a mate for Newton at some point and just enjoy life as proud corgi grandparents when Newton & wife begin making puppies. They most likely end up with a houseful of corgis because Kate is not okay with neutering Newton and Anthony can't deny her anything.
Benophie: These two are definitely bird people. All their birds are rescue and they keep them in a special open part of My Cottage greenhouse, while rehabilitating broken wings. Officially they have a chicken, two parrots, a parakeet and a Cockatoo (Pollock, Picasso, Monet, Dali and Frida) but they feed every bluejay, canary, raven or winged personality that comes to their birdhouses. So you never really know exactly how many birds they actually have at home.
Polin: I want to say they are also Dog people. But Colin just looks like the guy who has a thing for exotic reptiles whenever he travels. And Penelope would definitely appreciate the irony of owning a Chameleon. Also their pets would be the protected species kind that need their own enclosure. Colin has Popcorn, a Blue Iguana, which he rescued in the Cayman Islands and a couple of very colorful Geckos (Muffin and Nugget). while Penelope just keeps a tortoise she's had since she was little called Lola, and a blue Panther Chameleon called Ozzy, that Colin got her for her 16th birthday. (her chameleon is the boss of that house)
Philoise: Eloise has a grey Persian Cat that looks perpetually grumpy called Napoleon, Phillip has a brown Saint Bernard that he calls Noel but his kids call Noodle. El's cat did not take it well when Eloise moved in with Phillip and the twins, simply because the dog was being way too friendly with Eloise. And the cat wasn't having it. So he marked his territory in a very feline way.
Franchel: Michael was never much for pets, but Francesca has a whole aquarium of Koi fish in her apartment and loves to add pieces of decorations to it so the fishes begin growing on him. After the get married, Michael actually builds Fran a pond with it's own ecosystem so she can raise her Koi in relative freedom outside of the small aquarium they are used to.
Hyraeth: These two are not exactly pet people, but I feel like teenage Gareth owns a horse that he takes care of very well and Hyacinth is persuaded to help out with his horse and begins loving it as well so she gets Anthony to buy her a pony which she names Twilight Sparkle. they both grow up to be very responsible horse owners.
Grucy: they share ownership over the class pet in Elementary school. A spotted bunny named Waldo. And they low key treat the rabbit as their child. Since Lucy is technically not allowed to have pets by her uncle and Gregory was banned from the pet store after the last 'free the animals' incident he was involved in

Yall l’m interrupting Kathony time to let you know that the Bridgerton Poll Survey Results were posted! A couple of yall sent me the links shoutout to @queenkatesharma for sending them to me.
Okay so while transparency is great, protecting people’s data is more important. The OP of the post was kind of reckless and posted the data document with all of the raw data and I just felt very concerned about sharing that here because of the unprotected data so I reached out to with the mods to help secure it. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to save a copy of the doc so I can make my own summary for yall in my essay but its probably for the best. That being said I did get screenshots of a brief summary from the OP before the posts were taken down to protect the privacy of everyone:

Bonus: This was a very funny comment I found on the Polios sub
“Vocal minority” “Contentious” Literally all we said was Why is it so invasive and why the hell do you need all that info to glean about people in the fandom - it didn’t help the Polios themselves added to the fire about linking the intelligence to the ships that’s solely on them.
While I am glad the data is secured, I do mourn the loss of not being able to analyse it myself and make yall cute pie charts in my essay. That being said and while the data won’t be the exact same - would you all be interested in doing a shorter version that doesn’t ask so many personal questions and just asks you why you ship what you ship (literally what I expected from this survey tbh)?
Let me know and I can make a quick google survey version where the pie chart will be auto generated for us lmao. If not, I’ll probably just put in the info I’ve been gleaning from asks to my moots and what we gathered from the ‘intellectual’ attorneys of the Pollon sub. Also for a bunch of self-proclaimed “smart lawyers”, they were TOO excited about having all that data without even thinking of privacy laws???

My favorite romantic relationship for Daemon was his relationship with Laena. They seemed to have built a healthy and loving relationship and family. Another thing I like was the fact that she was an adult. Both by their standards and by our standards. And how she died was really heartbreaking. That being said the show f*cked them up in every which way. And then they f*cked his relationship with his daughters that while not much is given for in the book you can still make a claim that he loved and cared for them. In conclusion this show is sh*t and if Netty (who unfortunately is Daemons only saving grace) isn’t included this season I will be finding a new fandom to either join/re-join. Maybe my childhood favorite(s) ATLA or Percy Jackson since they both are getting new shows. The Hunger Game franchise just came out with a new movie that is slowly but surely getting me back on the wagon. H*ll I might even trade out one toxic fandom for another, I just can’t decide if it’ll be Bridgerton (though they’re only toxic when it comes to certain characters), Star Wars (I haven’t been apart of this one in a while but if my memory serves me it was just shipping wars) and if I’m really feeling it I’ll go back to Harry Potter (which is low-key worse than HOTD cause the writer is problematic as well as some of the actors/actresses and the stans are crazy and the shipping wars alone can make you leave the fandom ). But yeah I have low hopes for this next season.
Dettles has a special place in my heart, and I believe Nettles was Daemon's person, I will admit that Daemon and Laena is his least problematic ship. Instead of the showrunners giving us a relatively normal healthy loving marriage they gave us dog sh*t and I will forever be pissed off about that🫠
I’m gone too if Nettles is cut.
However, honestly, after this whole situation, I refuse to get involved with another fandom again.
Granted HOTD is probably one of the worst fandoms out there(I feel like it’s worse than GOT fandom), but there are a lot more sh*tty fandoms than there are good ones and I wouldn't want to trade one sh*tty fandom for another.
Star Wars is the same fandom that bullied Jar Jar Binks actor to the point where the poor man was suicidal and they bullied the kid who played Anakin to the point where he quit acting. Not to mention how fans treated John Boyega, Kelly Marien Tran, and Moses Ingram. Those people are just as mentally deranged as HOTD stans. In fact, a lot of Dumbnyra stans ship Reylo💀That’s really the last fandom I’d join. They are one of the OG crazy fandoms.
Never got into the Hunger Games, but I know they had their issues(Rue). Percy Jackson same issue. People’s grievances with JK Rowling aside, the Harry Potter fandom has calmed down, but I imagine the crazy antics will pick up again with the new series. At their height though they were probably running neck and neck with HOTD(I wouldn’t say it’s worse).
I love Avatar. Never got into the fandom(and even if I do decide to write something for Zutara because of this new show that will be my extent of fandom interaction).
Speaking as someone who is in the Bridgerton fandom, while it has its kooky fans they are relatively harmless by fandom standards. (Though I did have some Kathony fans getting mad at me over a non-issue and saying I should stick to watching the incest show🤣 even though I've been watching Bridgerton since the beginning ).
I feel like the type of show it is makes it difficult for really crazy fandom drama to form(which seems to revolve around shipping).
Everyone has their favorite couple of course(Benophie aka the best ship, Kathony, Polin, Saphne, Francheal, Grucy, or hey ship them all), but there is no infighting like Zutara vs Katang or Dramione vs Romione.
There is one ship per guy and girl and you ship them. That’s it. It’s simple. It’s easy. Everyone loves it. Of course, you can fight with another couple, but everyone’s couple is a couple. You can’t deny it’s not canon, that it won’t happen, or that they don’t love each other(well Eloise and her man are iffy, but they are a couple).
I may be biased though considering it’s my favorite show, but even with some kooky stans it’s great.

But I wonder how Benedict would have reacted hearing Anthony say that? Or how he would react to Colin being so disgusted at the mention of Penelope mention him? Hahah the thought kills me. What do you think?

When I wrote that scene, and especially that little speech from Anthony, I essentially wanted Ant to be pestering him so hardcore with question after question after question that Colin finally explodes with the truth. And this whole story has Colin’s desperation as a theme. I imagine in S3 he’ll get damn close to losing her (not Grucy levels of close, but I imagine there will at least be a proposal Colin has to contend with) and that’s when the desperation will kick in, as well as some if not all of Bridgertons being like “!!!!!!?!??? GO GET HER DUMMY”
As far as how Ben would react? I kind of see one of a few options. Either he would react much like in the book and be polite but clear that he has no intentions towards Penelope.
Or he would actually be Good-Big-Brother Ben and nudge Colin as gently as possible towards the Vegas-style huge fucking neon sign that says COLIN LOVES PEN and be like, “Gee, Colin, what’s that sign say?”
OR, if he really feels like taking the piss, he’d be all, “Well, actually, Ant, now that you mention it… why not Benedict? 👀” just to see Colin fly even further off the handle.

Ahh the Earl’s daughter who ran away to Scotland with Gregory Bridgerton, barely 19 even if he was just as handsome and charming as his oldest Brother had been. And has been nearly constantly pregnant ever since.
The women of the village truly can’t tell if she’s had the baby and is already pregnant again or still pregnant.
The woman who go up to her one day and whisper, “Mrs Bridgerton, you can… bar your husband from your bed if you wish.”
And they’re stunned when she chuckles, “oh, I shall have to try it. Though he might have a harder time barring me from his.”

I know edits like this went around months ago but, I thought I should bring it back but in an ask format! If the Bridgerton characters had YouTube channels, what would it be about? 🤓 if you wanna do individual characters or as couples, that’s up to you!
This is a hard one and i've been sat on it a while whilst I've been thinking...
So we're going with sort of Regency characteristics I think so i'm struggling with some of them so i might come back with more but we're going couples...
Kanthony: How to deal with a huge ass family and their drama...
Anthony and Kate just talking about the drama of their idiot siblings, and just giving advice on marriage... Anthony occasionally being swatted by Kate for talking about their sex life when they get questions. Anthony accidentally announces that Kate's pregnant for the second time, before they've told anyone, with an innocent comment when they're talking about Benedict and his drama of looking for his Mystery Lady "perhaps the little bean will be born after all of this drama has passed us over"
Benophie: Domestic Life in the Country / How to deal with an Artist...
Sophie pretty much does their show. She does cooking and cleaning, like a cross between Mrs Hinch/Marie Kondo and Jamie Oliver with her videos. she does step by step recipes and shows how to get the most out food and the space in their house...
but she also films Benedict going through the process of creating his art. his little melt downs and the suitable for children ways she calms him down.
Polin: An Englishman Abroad - A writer's paradise...
this one was rather obvious. they travel together and write about it, the film their reviews of the places they go to eat.
Saphne: Basset Bedlam - Not another Family Blog
Daphne is the ultimate stay at home mum and it's a blog about hints and tips about raising kids. having 4 kids within 4 years it's a hit and she gets her sister's in law involved with it and her adorable nephews and its about raising kids. Useful tips of dealing with tantrums, poonami's and adorable moments of Simon dancing with all three of his daughter's.
they share details of their family life and do monthly Q&A's. Daphne also does a podcast a bit like Gionvanni Fletchers Happy Baby Happy Mum...
Philoise: Plants, Prose and Pressure
it started off as Eloise doing book reviews and talking about the pressures of being a woman in modern society. the demands and the expetations and it's just rants and very much a feministic blog...
She gets Amanda on talking about her favourite book and Oliver talks about his favourite football team.
Eloise films Phillip talking about plants and caring for them one day and is surprised at how well it takes off and when she shows Phillip all the questions in the comments he agrees to do more and it's how the blog continues
Franchel: A Wee Wicked Dram

Of course their blog is about modern day crime and mystery stories. Hyacinth documents their attempts to find the lost jewels of the St.Clair family (Which ends up being picked up and adapted for a film)
but she loves Sherlock Holmes type mysteries and gets really involved in the drama and other mysteries, talking about shows and she and Gareth spend time trying to help people solve their own mysteries.
it's also full of fun videos of her ridiculous large family and her most popular video she got all of her family, siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews all involved in a ridiculous tiktok style video.

Okay but imagine the children of the Bridgertons arguing over who has been more traumatized by their parents by the sheer amount of times they’ve accidentally walked in on them. Their parents are shameless and they don’t even care! They just look at and their child, eyebrow raised and say, “you should be so lucky that your mother and I still love each other so much.”
Yeah, that shamelessness that caused their scandalous courtships/engagements did not end after they got married and had kids. If anything, it made it worse, with some of them having a breeding kink. (You can not convince me that at least the brothers and Daphne didn't have one.)
I can see them all arguing over it. Who was more scandalized by their Bridgerton parent, convincing their seminormal parent to do all these things. Amanda and Oliver argued that at least the rest of them didn't remember every single time their parents had sex unlike them.
To the Benophie and Philoise kids, the outside has been defiled too by their parents who did it in the lake/greenhouse.
Their are certain poems the Polin kids can't read or listen to because their mom somehow made it dirty.
Kathony kids hear their parents arguing in that tone of voice and they immediately book it to somewhere on the other side of the house or to grandma Violet's at Number 5.
Franchael kids had too many jumpscares that if they didn't see at least one parent fully clothed, they assumed their gonna run into them doing it.
Hyareth kids to this day continue to look for the missing family jewels because it's an excuse to escape their parents.
Grucy kids just wished their mom wasn't so fertile. Women had nine kids, and with that breeding kink, it makes it more of a turn-on for their dad.
Saphne kids thought they were safe and that their parents calmed down but then got the horrifying realization in 1834 that they were wrong. Oops baby Edward came about 17 years after David along with cousin Anthony and the Saphne kids got the reminder their parents are very much still fucking.
