And though they still sparred and argued from time to time, there was an unspoken understanding between them that they would always be there for each other, no matter what.

Some theorize he's wearing a turtleneck in the shot where he's going into the shop, so it's possible it's a cut from later in the series after he knows Gabriel is there and it's not cakes?
