hey I figure that you’re probably tired of talking about the Sentimonster nonsense but I genuinely still can’t stand that it’s an actual thing. The wildest thing about it is that I JOINED the fandom because of the Sentimonster theory, actually got excited for it and looked forward to hints, not believing the skeptics or the salters bc it didn’t seem like such a big deal—that is until I saw with my own eyes how SO MANY FANS said with their whole chest that, in “Ephemeral” Adrien HAD to be a Sentimonster or there was no other “sympathetic explanation” for why he didn’t de-akumatize himself or fight off Gabriel.

Seeing the victim blaming in real time was such a punch in the gut—and then they just kept on coming!! It finally hit me how damaging the entire thing because for the show as a whole. If even regular fans that weren’t even known for salting could so willingly disregard and ignore genuine abuse coping mechanisms in favor of magical BS… it was such a dark time. Abuse Apologism and victim blaming in a whole package

Sometimes, when I write about Miraculous, I pretend I'm writing about a show that only had three seasons. That's what the "zagulous fandom" tag is for; it's for posts that are about the parts of Miraculous that had Zag's executive control keeping Astruc in check. I also kinda accepted long ago that my blog's kind of a support blog for people who are against the Sentihuman concept.

When I first heard of the expanded Sentimonster theory, the one that went "all the rich kids are Sentimonsters", I instantly went: "You do realize how making victims of child abuse nonhumans with questionable rights minimizes their victimhood and excuses their abusers, right?" people told me I was making stuff up and whoopsie doo, the writers did exactly that.

Neither Gabriel nor Tomoe faced any consequences for abusing Adrien and Kagami because, after all, since they're Sentimonsters, the real abuse was that they didn't have their Amoks so giving them their Amoks resolves all their problems. The only abusive parent who gets acknowledged as such is Félix's dad, who is dead by the time we hear about any of this, because we can't have abusive parents face consequences for their actions because that might upset people or whatever excuses Astruc's giving for Gabriel's vindication now.

This also minimises all the affects of the abuse on the kids, since they can be handwaved away with: "They were just programmed that way." Kagami's bad social skills aren't because her mother isolated her, it's because she forgot to program Kagami with those skills. Félix's villainous behavior isn't because his mother is overly permissive with him, he was just programmed that way (by the eeeeevil Colt). Adrien isn't a people pleaser because he's repeating his abuse coping mechanisms with his overly controlling girlfriend to keep her happy the same way he did to his overly controlling father, he was just programmed to be the perfect doting son and boyfriend.

You'll notice how neatly this ties into the crew denying that Chloé was abused in any way ever by her clearly abusive mother. Chloé wasn't made into a Sentimonster, so we can't have her bad coping with her abuse be excused by "Sentimonster programming", so now the writers are just gaslighting the audience and saying: "Chloé wasn't mistreated by her parents which caused her to act to out to get attention (which she literally stated to be her motive in season 3), in fact, she's the one who's been terrorizing her poor, innocent father and he needs to be protected from this naturally occuring evil hellspawn."

All child abuse in this show gets excused.

Of course, now the writers have an added reason to make sure Adrien's abuse gets excused in particular: because they made Marinette benefit from it. As I said, Adrien is repeating abuse coping mechanisms learned from dealing with his father to keep Marinette happy. He's always prioritizing her feelings and never brings up his own problems, and this is good for Marinette, because she can just enjoy having a perfect boyfriend who caters to her every need and doesn't have problems of his own or with the ways she treats him (for all she knows). She's even maintaining this status quo by lying about Gabriel to Adrien, so Adrien won't get upset (and have emotional needs that she would need to help him with). Either we have to excuse Adrien's abuse, or we have to admit Marinette is benefitting from the fact that Adrien was abused, and even taking advantage with the way she makes no effort to improve their communication on her end, preferring to spy on Adrien and lie to him instead of just talking to him like an equal.

The show writers are also allergic to following through on their creative decisions, is what I think. They put all these different victims of child abuse and neglect in the show, and then dehumanized these children in different ways so that they wouldn't actually need to say anything about that abuse they wrote in and they can instead pretend it was never there. This is why I also think that, no matter how much the show's defenders insist the story isn't over yet, we will never be getting a proper resolution to the Sentinonsense.

!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

Hi I just got home, so let's get to it (Part 1):

Picking up where we left off, where the main gang meet up with Idia. Sebek thought that all of them were awake in the real world but Idia was like "nah we're still stuck in the dream world"

I completely forgot that Idia barely touches grass (joke) in the main story so he introduces himself to the Silver and Sebek and when Sebek introduces himself Idia got scared cuz of how loud he was 😭

Since Idia's awake, Silver immediately goes on defense thinking that the darkness or even Malleus will attack. But then, Ortho comes on screen (like literally he appears on a monitor) telling the gang that they don't have to worry about that for a while.

Edit: There's this one part I legit forgot to add which I will now cuz it's funny where Silver and Sebek were just sandwiching Idia and Idia's says something along the lines of getting hurt from being squeezed between armor (Sebek) and HARD MUSCLES (Silver) LIKE WE GET IT IDIA WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE

Ortho then explains to the rest about how he managed to escape the dream world and transfer his consciousness to STYX. Although he's not able to conjur Unique Magic because he's not a mage, but rather a humanoid robot, he still has his unique perks (aw that's cute)

Flashback Time: So we have Cerberus Ortho investigating the current situation of Sage Island, trying to prevent the thorns from spreading as well as break through the shield, which is apparently much harder than the open gates of the Underworld. But don't worry guys the Shroud Parents are also there to help him out.

Ortho was given a 20 minute time limit to analyze Malleus's magic, because once those 20 minutes are up he shuts down, which was difficult. UNTIL THE MAN OF THE HOUR MALLEUS APPEARS, who's surprised that Ortho was awake. But Ortho tells Malleus that he simply switched bodies cuz he's an AI, which is something Malleus probably doesn't understand (damn AHAHAHAHAHA)

Knowing that he needed to buy some for the machinery thingies (idk what they're called don't even ask) to collect the needed data, Ortho challenges Malleus. Malleus admires the fact Ortho can keep his sanity for so long, thinking that it's the pinnacle of technology. It was a crazy battle, with Ortho losing one of his dogs

OH MALLEUS I LOVE YOU BUT YOU BITCHHHH (mostly the latter btw)

Ortho's running out of time, with only 30 seconds left and Malleus is about is to put him to sleep. he says he's sorry to his parents NOOOO

BUT SOMETHING HAPPENS, the attack stops; STYX came in just in time to intervene. The Shroud parents uses their drones to attack Malleus's shield and Ortho uses a full blast to get him out of Sage Island and land himself back to STYX and we get this moment of the Shrouds (minus Idia) collapsing into each other's arms.

MALLEUS NO

Ortho regains consciousness after awhile and tells his parents that he's guilty the the two robot dogs were destroyed (oh yeah forgot to mention the other one was destroyed too whoopsie), but Mama Shroud said that they can just repair them and we just have this heartfelt moment in the family.

That is, until Papa Shroud brings up that the magic used by Malleus reminds him of the ancient magic surrounding Grim. Another thing is that it's downright impossible to destroy Malleus's realm from the outside UNLESS Malleus himself disappears. They can't destroy the realm by force either because it will also permamnently lock all victims inside of it. The only thing they can do is to be as persuasive as possible to let Malleus let go of everyone (but trust me when I say I don't think that will work)

So they bring up Maleficia as someone who can persuade Malleus, but Mama Shroud has something else in mind and shows Ortho a live from Idia's dream, which is when he notices something was off. It's possible that she found a way to access everyone's dreams (and let's just say Idia is just like his mum). That;s when Ortho realizes what his mom meant, and that is to find a way to get everyone to wake up and find a way to disrupt the dream world.

Okay Ima end the first part here for now, sorry this took awhile guys I had lots of things to do the moment I got home 😭. But I promise to get things out as quick as I can (I still have a reflection paper to speedrun lmao)

50 of My Favorite Fics from 2023

Did something like this last year on Dreamwidth and it was fun so I’m doing it this year, on Tumblr this time! These are all fics I read last year and loved a lot!

It’s 50 fics because that’s about how many recs were on my list last time by happenstance so I decided to just roll with it. Especially because I read so much fic this year, between the comment bingos and the explosion of Mario fic in the months before and after the Mario movie, for example. Thus, I probably forgot some good ones, somehow (I was mostly going off my AO3 bookmarks for the year + what I’d reblogged on Tumblr) so whoopsies if some quality fics slipped through the cracks! ^_^;

This list ended up being

So to get to the soulmate identifying mark and the actual story/fix-it part of the my Treech x Gaius x Festus soulmate AU, it uhm… took me longer than expected to type this. I was a dumbass who decided it was bedtime and then completely forgot to keep working on this draft lmao. Whoopsies.

There are many soulmate identifiers that could work in this AU, but I tend to stick with marks because it gives Treech a good excuse to already be aware of the bond. It adds an extra layer of character that he’d know about it and actively choose not to share this information. Their mark has a floral pattern, symbolizing Festus and Gaius’s positive personality traits. The aspect of the mark that represents Treech is the fact that this floral pattern is actually a wood carving. The wood texture is easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it, but it’s there. It represents not only Treech’s passion for wood carving, but just his creative side in general. He's also not scared to speak his mind, and art is a form of self-expression. Treech is present in the core of the mark, under the surface but undeniably there. Kind of like their eventual dynamic, where Gaius and Festus have power but they’re so in love that Treech is the one calling the shots. Since Capitol elite is a whole lot of social climbing Treech is arguably the first person to ever show outright disdain for them, and even when he starts to like them he’s not afraid to speak his mind. And since he’s their soulmate, they actually care about his opinion.

Alright, with that ramble out of the way, lets get fixing:

So this AU starts on the first day, where Coryo brings Lucy Gray the rose and she mentions it reminds me of her soulmark (part of the mark is a guitar with a white rose motif). Then in the zoo she mentions playing the guitar and the gears start turning in Coryo’s head. After a brief stint of denial he realizes that Sejanus is also his soulmate and from the districts so really it’s not that impossible. One trip to the zoo later confirms that yes they’re a threesome. Coryo goes through his mental gymnastics of “well she’s Covey so it’s fine” until Sejanus smacks down his pitiful grasping at straws. After all, he considers himself district, so Coryo’s logic isn’t logicing very well. He brings it to Tigris, who helps him come to the correct conclusion that maybe the world isn’t black and white. Maybe judging people based on where they were born isn’t good, actually. And also Lucy Gray is gonna be sent into an arena to die soon so really regardless of whether she’s district or not the clock is fucking ticking so he better figure something out and get a move on. Which he does by talking to Gaul, who does not listen to a word he says hammers on about her stupid theory about humanity.

One talk with Sejanus helps Coryo realize that maybe Gaul’s world isn’t gospel and actually she’s kind of crazy? Sejanus, meanwhile, has the realization that his boyfriend isn’t exactly healthy minded and hasn’t been all that upfront with him about how close he is with Gaul. What nonsense she’s been feeding him and all that. So he starts digging, as he does, and over the course of this story he and Lucy Gray slowly help Coryo realize that Gaul is wrong and that while the loss of his parents is sad, the Capitol has done much worse than the districts ever did for far longer. Their treatment of the districts caused the rebellion, so if anyone’s to blame it’s the Capitol. But before they can bring systematic change they need to make sure Lucy Gray doesn’t die next week, and while Coryo is planning to stick with cheating his soulmates aren’t about that. The other tributes deserve to live as well, so hey why not shoot high and try to cancel the games entirely? But Gaul isn’t gonna stop and Highbottom has no say so what can they do?

Expose the bond. That’s what they can do. They get a news crew to the zoo and reveal their shared soulmarks on camera, live so no Capitol censorship can take it down. It causes quite the problem for Gaul, who tries to save her precious games and thus basically “disowns” Coryo as her apprentice. This is the final push that gets Coryo to choose being a good person. However, he has two soulmates that are considered district and the Snow family lost a lot of influence so Gaul is using that to argue that this bond doesn’t “count” as proof that the district people aren’t vile animals. This is where Treech and his bond comes in. Gaius and Festus have been pushed as a power couple for a long while so at some point Treech caught a glimpse of their soulmark and realized it’s his own. It’s in a pretty hidden spot (either on their sides or torsos) so he decides to keep this information to himself. Until he realizes the games may actually at least be postponed if he reveals it.

But he has no idea how to go about it until Gaul’s pushing causes the interviews to come around. It’s the day before the games and it’s not like there’s anything to lose so Treech decides it’s time for a hail mary pass. And on live TV, in front of a massive audience, he reveals the mark. Lucky asks him whether he knows his soulmate and whether they’re waiting for him, so Treech smiles and says he’s never talked to them but he knows who they are, and he’s not sure whether it’s a blessing or a curse. Then when asked what that means, he starts lifting/pulling aside his shirt to show the mark while saying:

“Well, one of them lives in luxury thanks to the pain that me and everyone I’ve ever known has been put through. The other one openly jokes about said pain and clearly thinks it’s funny. I’m not sure if I really want to get to know them.”

Cue gasps all around. Shocked whispers and murmurs floating through the air while Lucky tries to figure out how to salvage this situation before a whole brawl breaks out because guess what? Treech has just irrefutably debunked the only thing that kept the games from being cancelled. Lucy Gray’s bond wasn’t with true capitolites? Well Gaius and Festus have been pushed as the greatest example of a golden capitol bond and now this nobody from the lumber district turns out to be a part of it! There isn’t really any arguing against that. To rub further salt into the wound Treech continues.

“It’s okay, they probably wouldn’t want me anyways. Since they need me dead to win a cash prize and all that. As if they need more money when the shoes they’re wearing right now are already more expensive than my entire existence.” Treech smirks. “And if they do want me, then too bad. I don’t want anything to do with them.”

“Why not?”

“Well again, one of them is the son of the guy behind all of my suffering. The other one… he was mean to Panlo. How dare anyone be mean to Panlo?!”

That accidental display of humanity (dismissing someone entirely because “they were mean to my friend”) is the straw that breaks the camel’s back, and finally there’s enough proof for those opposed to the games to grow in numbers and start mass-protesting the day of the games. Some gather in front of the president’s mansion while the rest groups in front of the arena to prevent the games from starting. And it works. I have several snippets of what happens after this but I’ll write those out later. And I’ll write a short post with all the quotes I’ve thought up for this AU. Eventually. For fun.

If you want, here’s a free infodump card for the hero/villain thing you were talking about earlier.

I'm going to take a swing and assume this is about my oc stuff, if not, whoopsie. Either way, thank you so much for this ask I really appreciate it!! This may get long so I'll keep it under a read more.

So I never mentioned in my last post that the name of this story is Starfall Isle because that's the name of the location where the story takes place (side note: I did have to change it because this ask made me realize I should look it up and initially I was going to call it Starfall Isles but that's the name of a location in Flight Rising so I dropped the s). However while I have been thinking about this idea more since the last ask I still don't have a lot of stuff I feel concretely about. I would like it to have some kind of end goal but overall it would be more similar to superhero cartoons where it can be kind of episodic but a bigger plot can start to build up along the way.

The main character's name is currently Kailani Sparks and her hero name is Knight Star. As the name implies she has star related powers such as making stars she can walk and fly on (all Kirby-esque), as well as star-shaped blasts, transforming changes some aspects of her physical appearance as well such as her hair color and the way it glows (though to what degree/duration I have not decided). Her powers will also develop in various ways as the story goes on. Kailani can be a bit bumbling and ditzy but she has a really good heart and fast reflexes and she will fight you if she has to!

The character I talked about previously is now named Sapphira Reylin (though I am still wavering a bit on her last name) and her hero name is still Cross Rozen. I've started to define her powers a little bit more, she has her demonic form she can transform into, she also has fire and plant related powers (I'm not sure if I want her to be able to element bend them or if its just something she can generate and wield) and with her fire powers comes a bit of a fire resistance, she can also create swords/daggers.

One of the main villains is named Inevitable, she appears in amorphous forms to conceal her identity. Her powers involve her being able to change states of matter, I may have it also that she can change a target's weight and/or how gravity affects it but I don't know since I don't want her to be too overpowered. Personality wise she's very impish and loves toying with others especially Knight Star. Inevitable is also very influential often plotting and playing a hand in the villainous underground. I have some ideas on her civilian life but not many and they'd be secrets anyways since I don't want to give away everything on the chance I hopefully make this a comic or something one day!

Another prominent though less imposing villain is Marsupialia. Her powers allow her to take on the traits from any marsupial she can think of, she doesn't fully transform into the animals but it does influence the way her suit appears as well as give her the ears, tail and claws of the corresponding animal and possibly other traits unique to certain species. I almost forgot to mention that regardless of form her powers include: heightened smell and hearing, as well as her pouch ability. This power allows her to turn any bag into a pocket dimension however she can't put in anything that wouldn't otherwise fit into the bag's opening, so like she couldn't take a car but if it fits it shifts (into her pocket dimension). Marsupialia like Inevitable can be a bit cheeky and likes to mess around with Knight Star, but unlike Inevitable who has a cat and mouse dynamic with Knight Star, Marsupiala has more of a cat annoying another cat type relationship, speaking of: she also is more of a cat burglar type villain. I know a bit more about her civilian self but again, secret.

Then I just have variously fleshed out ideas for other heroes and villains mostly just ideas for powers I think would be interesting such as origami, scissors and plush related abilities. So yeah its a lot of just shifting vibes for these characters and this story but the more I think about it the more I'd like to try and solidify these ideas, so again I appreciate having an excuse to think about it!!

I don’t want to share too much about the illustrations for my book, The Pits, since most of it is going on Patreon and in the actual book (and I don’t want to spoil things) buuuut…I wanted to share this little snippet of one because I’m really pleased with it. I just like how all the characters came out. I had a lot of fun with Chipeta’s signs, and Royal’s “I have not slept enough to make up for the amount of blood loss I suffered yesterday” expression. Plus, I think Clarabella’s hand is one of the best I’ve ever drawn.

Also, little note on Chipeta’s signing. I am LOOSELY, loosely, referencing ASL for her signs. But the book is based in a fantasy version of the late 1870s, she is Ute, and the whole gang (averaging a dozen or so people) is super multi-cultural. So there’s just this weird mix of older ASL, hand-talk, SL from several other languages, and fantasy going on with them. Probably, if anyone fluent in actual period appropriate ASL tried to communicate with anyone in the gang they’d be able to understand maayyyyybe one out of every five words. And, in this illustration in particular, she’s talking about one of the core fantasy concepts. So.

And I just realized I need to fix Chipeta’s outfit because I forgot to put the opening on the “skirt” part. Whoopsie. I’ll do that later.

Fuck, shit, as well as damn it ("blast it all to the lower depths" as Ny would say). Idk if we posted this nonsense already. But fuck it. Gonna post it anyways.

We found out from our therapist the other day that she had updated our diagnosis. She went on leave for a few months, and we had a wonderful substitute therapist who had experience treating DID. After she had gotten back she consulted with said substitute and they both agreed that our symptoms matched up more with DID than OSDD-1.

We were fine with this, and she explicitly said that it was due to the memory issues. When we walked through the DES and diagnostic criteria, we didn't think our memory was "beyond normal forgetting". 8-9 months later, and a fresh set of eyes on us, and she got enough of a picture to check that box.

The only real complaint is that we don't know when we would have found this out, because it had come up from an unrelated conversation. But we've come to trust her well enough to believe that it was a simple mistake and not something more abusive of her authority.

But it's left us in a funny place. We've always thought our memory was shit, but not that shit. ADHD working memory out the door, and SDAM tossing the video feeds into the garbage. Nothing dissociative for the most part. Just weird brain quirks with memory.

But after getting hit with this, it's been, like I said, kinda funny feeling. Hell, read the first paragraph. We had agreed yesterday to pick my girlfriend up from work today, and didn't remember that until after the missed calls. That kinda shook us.

We've had missing days a plenty. Times where we were jazzed by the realization that Friday was one (1) day closer than we thought. Times where we were the opposite of jazzed because we missed a class (or a fucking final exam) because we thought we had another day left in the week.

We don't remember more than a handful of experiences from before college, and they dwindle the further back we go. But we know the facts. This kid with our deadname did/said/experienced X, Y, or Z. That kind of stuff. That's always been our memory. That's always been "normal forgetting".

Appointments, obligations, scheduled tasks. They all get missed until we can't do anything about them. We rely on routine. Therapy a 4 pm on Tuesdays. Oh it's at 3? Or on Monday? Guess we're not going. Need to call the doctor during business hours. But it's the weekend so we can't. Oh now it's the evening so we can't. Whoopsie, it's Saturday again and we need to call the doctor during business hours. Oh and file those papers before the kidos arrive at preschool. Gotta remember to file those papers. But it's time to prep for class and all the prep is done so we're incredibly bored and twiddling our thumbs. Kiddos are here but FUCK forgot to file the papers. Maybe after class? It's strange and surreal right now to hammer home that yeah, this isn't "normal forgetting". Fuck I remember thinking that maybe the ADHD memory poo would count enough for criterion B. How much does our memory suck and we've just compensated hard? How much do we forget that we forget?

There's something important I need to stress btw. All of this ramble, all of these memory issues, all of this forgetting and amnesia? All of it is irrespective of switches and headmates (save maybe the lost days). DID and plural memory issues almost always treat forgetting as something done between members. It's so frequently held that the memory is held by someone else.

While that's true in many cases, it's absolutely not universal. Our Dx comes from our recurrent gaps in our recall that's not consistent with ordinary forgetting. Not an inability to recall the memories of other headmates. Hell our most recent experience with that was when Ny agreed to pick up my gf, and she forgot; we all forgot.

Maybe that's a nitpick. Maybe I'm being particular. Maybe I'm annoyed. I don't know that our treatment would be any different if we kept OSDD-1 under the notion that DID required intra-idenity amnesia.

But yeah memory is fuck. Ramble is done. I hope this isn't something we posted yesterday or something. But if it is, that's pretty fucking funny to us.

since this is my first official post about her, i'll use this as an opportunity to go over the basics 😤 it's def more than three facts but whatevre

persephone "stevie" vega is a journalist and otherwise artsy type who always has at least three projects going to bounce between and completely drop when she gets wrapped up in a case

she was adopted by her two moms on the west coast and then spent most of her life in a crunchy lesbian commune that her moms founded outside of a small town in vermont, though she did go to public school and interact quite a bit w the local community

she had a whoopsie baby when she was ~16/17 and ended up keeping her and naming her after herself (a la gilmore girls but w supportive parents) who everyone calls percy

when she was in college, she met her future wife, enzo; enzo and percy are very close and not long after they got married, enzo adopted percy

stevie and enzo got divorced last year after their careers and some personal crises drove them apart and they decided it would be best for percy's sake to separate

fast forward to the present, her moms have now decided that they want to retire from the commune living and have moved to a bigger town in maine, so stevie moved herself, her kid, and her (reluctant) ex-wife to join them

stevie is a phoenix girlie. i imagine she is the type who chose a favorite when she was like fourteen, got a tattoo of it at eighteen, and it's stuck with her ever since lmao

🤍 WHITE HEART — what are three of your oc's neutral/questionable traits?

she is stubborn as hell. this CAN work in her favor when she's hunting down a story like a dog w a bone, but sometimes it causes trouble in her interpersonal life.

she says that she doesn't believe in all of the hippy new age stuff that her crunchy crystal moms believe in, but sometimes she finds herself leaning into it, almost like a superstition.

look, she's wise. she's got sense. she knows herself. but she can also somehow convince herself that all of her projects are good ideas. she bought this whole fixer upper bc her ex-wife is a contractor and she helped her a bunch on projects, so she's convinced herself that she's going to be able to renovate the whole house in less than a year. BY HERSELF.

🥪 SANDWICH — what does your oc's typical lunch look like? do they usually eat lunch?

lunch is the meal that most often falls by the wayside for her, at least when she's by herself. midday is usually the time where she's getting really into whatever project or story she's working on, so unless someone reminds her that food exists, she doesn't realize what time it is until percy is coming home from school or someone distracts her long enough for her to realize that her stomach has been growling since 11am.

however, when she does realize (or if it's a weekend/holiday where percy is home all day), she makes a spread. lots of different things, especially snacky sides like cut up fruit and veggies with dips and sauces. she eats a lot of fruit and veggies bc that's just how she grew up eating bc of all the farming on the aforementioned lesbian commune. bonus points if it's in a smoothie. extra bonus points if that smoothie is basically a milkshake.

EDIT: I FORGOT A VERY IMPORTANT CATEGORY: stake out lunches! stevie takes percy out on stake outs sometimes so she's gotta make sure they get fed. those lunches are definitely giant bags of fast food that are bigger than either of their heads.

🍛 CURRY AND RICE — what does your oc's typical dinner look like? do they usually eat dinner?

her moms and their friends were all very multicultural so she probably cooks food from all around the world, and she strikes me as the type who likes to show her love through food. also, i imagine she took a nutrition class or two when she was younger to make sure that she wasn't going to like, accidentally give percy the gout or something.

dinner is usually the main meal of the day that she plans out ahead of time so she can go all out. lots of the time, it's something she preps in the morning or the night before and throws in the slow cooker or something - stews, curries, soups, some meat that will be fall-off-the-bone tender in six hours, etc. plus any extras that might be needed.

Anywayyyyyy what was I gonna say. OH YEAH I REMEMBER okay I actually DID make a MM self insert not too long ago! I just forgot to post him whoopsie daisies.

Okay so basically this is Gary the ghost. He was the first person to get the haunted cartridge, before BF and GF did. He wasn’t pulled in there or anything, he just tried touching the screen and realized he could go into the game. So he thought that was cool as SHIT and he went in. Bro basically starved to death in there, while hanging out in Beta Lu.igi’s world. His design is based on the L.uigi’s mansion ghosts, specifically the Grabber Ghosts. But since he’s someone from the real world he got a special ghost design like BF and GF. But he still has the ability to grab people, which is important for later! Anyway, since M didnt have beef with him like he did with GF, he didn’t murder Gary. But he still died tho from like not having food. But I’d imagine at first they were buddies. So after dying and all that he’d explore the game as he pleased, and became friends with a few of the other entities. Not many, since a lot of these guys aren’t exactly the friendliest group of people, but he tries. Hal.lyboo and Mr S.ys and his gang are among the few he gets along with.

Anyway, not too long later, Boyfriend and Girlfriend get the game. They get grabbed in there. Blah blah blah It’s a Me and Starman Slaughter happen, they find the warp star and go through the levels. But when they get to Alone, after the song they meet Gary. He hears their little problem, and how M is probably going to kill them, and decides to help them. By the time Powerdown happens Gary gets so sick of everything, halfway through the song he starts beating M.X up. Because I think it would be funny. Anyway during the end at All Stars he grabs Ul.tra M by the throat and strangles him. And bro couldn’t do anything about it, cuz there is only one guy in the whole game who has the item needed to get rid of a ghost, and he is MANY levels away. So in conclusion, happy ending, everyone ends up escaping the game, nobody dies permanently. Idk what happens to Pico, he’d prolly get out too I guess? While writing this, I forgot he existed. But in my defense he only got one song anyway so. Yea.

This has been plaguing my mind for so long. Also the ramble got pretty long so I put it under a cut. whoops…

SK8 the Infinity Cyberpunk AU:

Main pairing is Cherry/Joe and on the side we have Reki/Langa, as well as past Cherry/Adam.

I think I’ll make it so you don’t need to know Cyberpunk 2077 or Edgerunners to read this. Unfortunately that also means I have to explain everything.

Happens in Night City, which I guess is just a dystopian cyber New York? Anyway, capitalism is a thing, there are many big corporations, right now Arasaka is the only important one.

Joe is the leader of a gang of mercenaries (placeholder name the Skaters, it might stay if I decide it’s not cringe tho). Mercenaries are essentially people who do dirty work for whoever pays, so a lot of stealing things and information, killing people and enemies, being bodyguards. His gang consists of Shadow and Reki at the start, later on Langa and Miya join, and also maybe Cherry. He doesn’t tell his legal name to a lot of people, but it’s not difficult to find out if you’re familiar with hacking n stuff.

Shadow kinda just vibes and is a regular merc (idk lmao).

Reki is a techie (person who deals with tech n some other things [wow]) and learning ripperdoc (person who installs chrome to people, deals with viruses in their systems, sometimes tattoos or surgery). Oka is his mentor, another ripperdoc and also techie. Reki sometimes joins in for Joe's missions, but not always.

Langa is another merc, but he has very high capability for cyberware, so he doesn't go crazy as easily from the tons of chrome put in his body (like David in Edgerunners). Reki probably found him one day and brought him to Joe's gang or something (idk lmao).

Miya is a learning netrunner (person who can easily hack into other people's chrome and machinery and practically whatever) probably (idk what to do with him either lmao).

Cherryyy! My fav! He's the main character! His civilian persona, Kaoru Sakurayashiki, works for Arasaka and is considered a very high-ranking employee there. He's also Cherry Blossom, a solo netrunner who only does high-profile jobs for high pay, but he's very skilled, though no one knows who he actually is.

aaand I have no idea what I'm doing with Adam or Snake. Just that Adam, Joe, and Cherry had their own gang of mercs when they were younger (when Cherry and Adam were dating), but they broke up when Adam went too far in something. Joe kind of detests Cherry for becoming the corpo shit they hated when they were young, but he eventually learns that he has an ulterior motive for having such a job (what motive? idk yet).

I haven't come up with much plot yet, except that there will be a time when Joe saves Kaoru's life, who then pays it back as Cherry Blossom, and that's how Joe learns that they are the same person.

Literally this is problematic because I have the perfect roles for (most of) the characters, the perfect setting, some nice backstories and ideas I was too lazy to list, but no story to tell with them. I neeeed a plot to appear out of thin air (actually no because I have no time to write this rn).

Shannon: 2 fanfics in one day is always such a treat. I loved both of them! I love how playful their both were. The Brain Leak story was very cute and I love the Unus Annus references. It's so touching how strong Jack and Ethan's friendship has become. I've never heard of those Stardew Valley characters, but I love their interactions, especially Jas's teases. Also, I just realized your Archive of Our Own account said you've reached over 400 stories! Congratulations!

I can't believe I forgot to reply to this message! Whoopsie daisy!

I would love to believe Sean and Ethan's relationship has gotten stronger. And I think it's evident by their interactions together, that they're tight-knit now. Put them in a 'get-along' sweater, and they'd probably play switch together. XD (bonus: Ethan's controlling the joystick and arrows, while Sean's controlling the A, B, Y, X side with the joystick below it. True teamwork!)

And I'm really glad you liked the Stardew Valley fanfic! Shane is an interesting character with a sad story, but an interesting redemption arc. And I think he deserves a little more love than he's given credit for. Getting clean from alcohol addiction is no easy feat...and Shane not only overcomes it with help and support, but he even starts spending time doing what he loves: raising chickens. A broken man with a wonderful redemption arc. <3

Episode 12: "might get idoled out for fun tonight"—Amy

Raffy

So an hour before tribal, Colin and I discovered that Hairie had an idol. So we managed to pull in Zo and Amy to try to send Hairie home with an idol in his pocket. We didn’t wanna tell Jinx because Trinica had told me that Jinx was the one who gave coins to Hairie. And we get that Jinx was too close to Hairie and would rat out the plan. The problem is that Hairie was asked a question about his idol, revealed it, and promised to play it. Also Adeline self-voted which means we never had a chance to vote any other way. Perfect storm of bad things happening. I still voted for Hairie when I really should’ve just voted for Adeline. And now I’m in hot water with Jinx because I think they figured that the old schoolers left them out. And I’m in hot water with Hairie. So now I’m working overtime to fix things. Idk if I can repair my relationship with Jinx because Zo or Colin could easily rat out that it was my plan (which is a half truth since it was Colin’s too). And I gotta re establish a relationship with Hairie. And I upset Trinica a little for not telling them. A whole mess. So now my plan is to just cry my eyes out and vote out Arvin as an easy vote so I can skate by another round. Here’s hoping things go well lol. Trinica, Colin, and I re established our connection and allegedly want to get to F6 with our most loyal allies (Brandi, Zo, and Amy respectively). I don’t know how much I trust that to happen but I do know I need to hide behind Trinica for the time being.

I like this immunity challenge since it's so chill, we don't have to do stuff, we just need to answer questions. I didn't win immunity and I know that my name would be written again. I could be voted out tonight but I'm gonna give them a fight.

I woke up today wanting to target Arvin. Trinica told me that we shouldn't and instead target Hairie because Hairie is sus as hell. I agree cause Hairie is sus as hell. Hairie drops Amy's and Colin's name immediately. I tell Colin immediately. Hairie fights Amy in the tribe chat. I tell my Golden Gworls alliance (me, Colin, Amy, Zo) to target Hairie cause he's coming for the old schoolers. They agree. I talk to Trinica. She has Brandi. Also confirmed with Jinx to vote for Arvin to split the vote. Working on getting Zo to split the vote on to Arvin. Let's hope this goes well. I don't want Hairie to use an idol.
