Eisfuura: Who is your favorite NPC?
Appropriately enough (since this is a bird question) it’s Kiri!! She is one of my top favorite characters in the whole M9 campaign. I really hope we get to find out in C3 what she’s up to these days and I can’t wait to see her in the M9 animated series. (Also I’m glad we’ll get to see her goodbye to Jester animated because I can’t believe they parted ways with her while Laura wasn’t there! I understand why they did it, it would have been too dangerous for her where they were going, but I’m sad that Laura wasn’t there to RP Jester in that moment.)
Bard: What is your favorite “how do you want to do this?”
Ooh okay. I don’t know if it’s my favorite but the one most burned on my mind is Imogen lightning bolting Evil Sun Tree in Darkstone because that was the end of a MERCILESSLY INTENSE fight to determine whether my favorite character of all time was going to be allowed back in the game. And it was SUPER CLOSE, she was barely alive and only survived because she had to spend her last Mote of Possibility (which she was probably saving for Laudna’s resurrection ritual) to make Delilah reroll her last attack on her.
Also there was some really nice symbolism there because she opened the fight with the words “Delilah Briarwood, we’re gonna sunder you.” You know, like lightning does to a tree. And that was what she did in the end, with all the love and fury in her soul.
Fighter: What was your favorite funny moment?
Oh no there are too many individual moments to choose so this is more like “funniest running gag” even though most of the scenes involved with it are actually traumatic but is endlessly hilarious to me though how much of a ruckus Bells Hells cause whenever they go to Whitestone. Especially from Percy’s point of view. They barge into his office at 7am with a dead body demanding he bring it back to life, unwrap it to reveal what at first appears to be the corpse of his wife before he realizes that no it’s actually it’s the anonymous girl whose murder has been haunting her for 30 years why do they even have this?? also HOW is she somehow inhabited by the spirit of his worst nemesis? Against his protests they bring her back to life (?? this part is debatable) and she in turn immediately resurrects a dead rat which she insists is a long-lost relative of his, and then makes him hug a tree. They refuse his offers of hospitality but steal a bunch of linens from the castle and sleep outside in the main square. They leave. They come back and inform him they need to go to the moon. They break into a room in the castle that he has specifically sealed off and invoke the spirit of his worst nemesis IN HIS HOUSE. They destroy an armoire to make a sled and break all the castle windows with rocks. Before they leave for the moon one of them turns himself into a living bomb and detonates right underneath the thing that is the living heart of his city. Also, they picked a fight with a blameless crepe vendor in the street.
BH, why are you like this. (Don't ever change.)
Also something about the contrast between how Laudna is perceived by the de Rolos when she's dead -- she's this object of pathos, a symbol of the guilt and trauma of a horrible thing that happened 30 years ago that they feel both responsible for and a victim of, and can never fully atone for -- and when she's revived like oh she's not just a dead doll that looks like Vex there's a whole personality there and it's bonkers and delightful and she has a pet dead rat and friends who love her so much they crossed continents to bring her back to life -- is so good. (Not necessarily funny just really good.)

When Vesper's 2-3 years old, she does a lot of wandering/toddling around Whitestone Castle. Despite the door supposedly being locked, she stumbles in a room she hasn't ever been in. It's the room where Percy and Cassandra were both tortured in by Anna Ripley. Percy manages to send Vesper up with Trinket. PTSD and memories slam him like a tidal waves. Flashes enter his mind. Old wounds begin to hurt and he's sobbing "No, please, we don't know anything!" Vex finds him. She gasped, "Oh shit no, Percival!" She hesitates to touch him as to not startled him in his already heightened sense of fear. "Percival, hey it's me." He doesn't believe her. She slowly guides one hand over to her heart and the other hand over to the swell of her pregnant belly, he feels the twins move. Percy sighs shuddery and broken, "Vex-Vex'ahlia?" She whispers, "Yes, Darling. No one is going to hurt you anymore. I swear it." And they just stay there on their knees in a long hug.
Vex fears she's going to lose Percy and Gwendolyn. Gwen is almost hypnotically drawn to anything to do with the arcane and/or Ruidus. She steals some residuum invention outside her daddy's workshop. They send the kids looking after her as well, but Percy finds her first in the snow. He hurts his knee on his way down to her permanently. Pike was too busy healing Gwen. At most, they needed to warm up after a no good very cold day.
After they find out from Pike and Sarenrae, of course Percy loves Gwendolyn. But the inventor/tinkerer side of him goes into "How can I fix this? How can I undo this deal, so my daughter won't suffer the fate of being a cursed heir. It's the thought that plagues him. And after four pregnancies, there's a good chunk in Vex's first trimester when Percy's afraid to go near Vex, hold her, be around her and the baby. He's almost scared he'll do more harm than good. And Vex is having her toughest physical pregnancy symptoms yet -- hot spells, fevers, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) level nausea. He's there when one of Vex's ladies' maids advises Lord De Rolo that he take her to the hospital. After a violent bout of vomit over the chamber pot, he holds her hair back after weeks. He tries to apologize, "I'm sorry I just..." There's a heavy silence between them, and Vex mentions, "Tieflings aren't curses. Just ask Zahra." They have a bit of a shouting match about his lack of presence. Vex yells, "Oh for fuck's sake, I don't need you to make any more stupid dealings. I, we, just need you, idiot!"

It was only a cough: Ch #7 Feeblemind
Here it is! Sorry for the wait guys! After this chapter we have the hospital chapter~ So be prepared! Here’s the AO3 link!
As Percy kept his eyes to the road, Vex kept her gaze on the rest of their group in the back of the van through the rear view mirror. Particularly her brother and Grog, the two of them have been the most antsy as of recent not to mention her brief conversation with Grog not that long ago keeping her thoughts hostage.
He is right, gods know he is, they shouldn’t split up once they enter the hospital but the more and more she thinks on it the more and more she realizes they won’t have a choice no matter what. Splitting up offers them a higher chance of finding what they need but it also increases the danger, but maybe there's a way to compromise.
Split up but keep to a time limit, get in and come out in an hour or two depending on how big the hospital is and what damage it has sustained. It’s not the best and it’s not like she knows what to do if someone doesn’t come out when it’s time or how they’d even keep track of it without anything to help them. But just like everything else they do nowadays they’ll play it by ear.
Grog’s checking over his sledgehammer moving it side to side every so often to get a different look at it, what he’s looking for she isn’t sure but she’s come to not question the things the large man does when it comes to the group's blunt weapons. Her brother on the other hand stays close to Keyleth like he has been doing for weeks now if not longer, the two of them whispering to each other. With the angle from the reflection she can’t make out what the two of them are saying but she can see Vax idly fidgeting with one of his daggers.
With a sigh she finally averts her gaze from the small mirror and looks at her boyfriend. Percy keeps his eyes on the road but she can tell by the way he ever so slightly tilts his head that he knows she’s watching him. It remembers her of times before all of this.
The two of them went on road trips every so often to Whitestone after the two got together to go and visit Percy’s sister. Oh how something so mundane has turned into a treasured memory of a time that won’t return. It’s almost like the world has decided her and her brother aren’t allowed to have a moment of peace. Things had just started to look up for the both of them, Vex had a stable job as a doctor and had been secretly dating Percy for a while.
Vax’s job was stable and sure his and Keyleth’s relationship got a bit rocky after he confessed but the two had been working forward and Vex has no doubt that, even if the apocalypse hadn’t knocked down the door to their lives, Vax and Keyleth would have still ended up together.
But now isn’t the time to play what if’s or think on what could have been, no matter how much she needs an escape from their predicament. She’s very lucky all things considered, she still has her friends with her, this self made collaboration of a cobbled up family.
Keyleth coughs and Vex can’t help but cringe at the sound of it, granted it sounds better then it did before when it sounded like poor Keyleth’s throat had been eradicated with sandpaper. Thankfully she’s on the tail end of the illness at least as far as Vex and Pike’s combined knowledge can tell but even then Vex still wonders if it was a good choice to leave the motel as soon as they did.
Turning back to get a proper view of the red head, greets Vex with the sight of her brother looking straight at her. Vex freezes for a moment just staring back at her brother, his eyes to most would be unreadable but not to her. Vex can see the idly burning turmoil and selfless determination behind his gaze, it’s an expression that she used to only see back when they were kids scrounging around on the streets after they ran from their father’s home. It’s made an appearance a few times since this all began and everytime without fail it causes her stomach to twist in agonizing discomfort and worry.
Scanlan watches as Keyleth groans, putting her head in her hands and idly pinching the bridge of her nose in frustration. To be fair he can’t blame her, she out of everyone-besides himself-is probably the most frustrated with their current situation.
He’ll probably hear about it and get to even throw in his two cents about the rights and wrongs of this mission, or maybe he won’t now that he thinks of it. Usually it’s just him and Keyleth when they have those talks, talks of how utterly damned they are. The two of them are always expected to keep face majority of the time, him more so then her but regardless it was nice having someone else to talk to who’s experiencing the cut throat nature of being the one to cheer people up or to be the optimistic one. He can poke fun at their misfortune and make jokes and she can always find a thing to be grateful for but this doesn’t mean they don’t have a deep seed of anger and malice at their current circumstances. The group has seen Keyleth lose it a few times, releasing the anguish but they always try to placate it or in Grog’s way offer to fight it out. But sometimes it’s good to just argue it out with someone who agrees, who shares the dark seething hate and that's what the two do for each other.
It shocked him the first time they had a conversation about it, it by all means had been a lapse in mental strength on his part that started it but he had to get his thoughts out and the only person with him had been Keyleth and to his surprise instead of shying away, instead of trying to placate, find the optimistic side. She agreed, shared her own plight, her own disgust. The two then made it a habit that when it became too much the two would seek each other out and partake in their mutually viled discussion. But with Percy staying with them, he doubts they’ll be having their usual conversation. At the same time though Keyleth could surprise him and bring the topic up, Percy is her best friend and for all Scanlan knows she has similar conversations with him. It’d certainly add an interesting twist to the conversation.
Scanlan finally looks away from Keyleth after Vax leans to start whispering to her again, though it’s fun to tease the two now isn’t really the time. He looks around the van idly, Trinket lays at Pike’s feet along with Minxie in her carrier, Pike has her eyes closed and her hands clasped over her necklace. He just watches her for a moment and not for the first time does he think on how he wishes he had something to clutch at like faith, something to give him hope. Hope that they’ll make it through this, hope that at some point they won’t have to constantly be on the run from everything around them, hope that he'll see his daughter again live and well, well as well as one can get in nowadays time.
He was so lost in his own thoughts that for a moment he didn’t notice the van slowing down till he heard Keyleth kick the bottom of the van in what he can only guess is anxiousness mixed with a subtle fury. He see’s Vax whisper something into her ear that makes her shoulders slump before the two of them lightly rest their foreheads together.
Pike rises from her seat, opening the back doors before hopping out and that's when Scanlan gets a good look at their destination, his stomach twists in vile blackened slicked knots, dread over taking him.
The building is dilapidated, nature obviously starting to reclaim the building but at the same time it’s struggling too, most likely from the damned cold. Windows are smashed open, ridged glass scattered around. Gods, that is a dead body impaled on the glass in that window, isn’t it? The place is the embodiment of a mausoleum, the dreaded catacombs filled to the brim with death and long starter and freshly begun rot.
They are going to lose someone, there is no way in hell they aren’t.
At this point everyone but him, Keyleth, Vax, and Minxie have exited the van. He can see Vex and Percy talking to each other a little bit away, Grog and Pike both double checking their weapons and personal supplies. Scanlan makes sure to take good long looks at all of their faces.
Percy heads back into the van taking a seat next to him with a slight nod of greeting before Vex comes to stand right outside the van doors.
“Time to go, Vax.” She says, Vax doesn’t turn around to acknowledge her. Instead he gently grabs Keyleth’s face before kissing her and with one last hug between the two Vax joins his sister outside the van. And all that Scanlan can think as he watches more than half his friends make their way into this horror mansion of a hospital is how they are so utterly screwed.

Coaxes you through your breathing exercises and even if you yell through a contraction, he’s yelling along with you.
Bonus: if the healer/doctor is like “close friends and family only!” you’re all like “WE ARE!!”

Laura Collins wurde dort als Assistenzärztin genommen und somit geht ihr größter Traum in Erfüllung. Dr. Nash Brooks ist Stationsarzt der Herzchirurgie und somit ihr Betreuer und Vorgesetzter. Es kommt immer wieder zu prickelnden Situationen zwischen den beiden und schließlich kommen sie sich näher. Nash möchte Laura weder bevorzugen noch benachteiligen, als Vorgesetzter wäre die Liebe zu einer Assistenzärztin zwar nicht verboten, aber auch nicht gerne gesehen. Hat ihre Liebe eine Chance und können sie die Arbeit und ihr Privatleben trennen? Ich bin absolut begeistert von diesem wunderbaren Buch! Als OP-Fachpflegerin und Grey's Anatomy Fan wollte ich diese tolle Reihe natürlich unbedingt lesen. Das Buchcover mit dem menschlichen Herz und den Blumen ist einfach wunderschön. Ein wahres Kunstwerk! Der Schreibstil der Autorin Ava Reed ist sehr angenehm und flüssig zu lesen. An den richtigen Stellen voller Spannung, absolut fesselnd und dann wieder sehr gefühlvoll, sodass ich beim Lesen jede einzelne Seite genossen habe. Das Buch ist abwechselnd aus der Sicht beider Protagonisten geschrieben, sodass ich mich als Leserin in die Gedanken- und Gefühlswelt von beiden Charakteren sehr gut hineinfühlen konnte. Laura Collins ist eine sehr sympathische und selbstbewusste junge Ärztin, die für sich selbst, ihre Patient*inn*en und Kollegen/Kolleginnen einstehen kann. Sie ist sehr stark und hat gelernt präzise und fokussiert zu arbeiten. Ihre Schwester Jess ist ein wunderbar erfrischender und lustiger Nebencharakter. Ich habe die Telefongespräche zwischen den beiden Schwestern jedes Mal sehr genossen, sie konnte mich mehrmals herzlich zum Lachen bringen. Nash ist anfangs unnahbar, distanziert, wirkt jedoch sehr attraktiv und interessant auf Laura und natürlich auch auf uns Leser*innen. I’m rewatching the first ep of Campaign 3 in pieces just to see what I missed, since watching live I was a) tired and b) smiling too much to pay attention I was so happy
so anyway, have all of my thoughts and notes on Laudna because I lov her (and maybe there will be another post about Imogen to come, because I lov Imogen too and I think she and Ashton should get to commiserate about chronic migraines). some of it’s under a cut because it got Long.
her name sounds like Laudanum, which is an opium mixture
young-ish, though not as young as Imogen
likes kids, considers herself fun-scary
“surprised” she hasn’t been run out of town yet, implying this is an experience that’s happened to her before
her hair is in a partial updo with a rock chisel stuck through it, and her belt (in addition to the dead rat with a bird skull on it, which she made herself) is also full of tools - I for one am looking forward to seeing what she’ll tinker up with, with Marisha’s creativity

although, she didn’t specify what tools! maybe she’s not a tinkerer, maybe she’s a sculptor. an artist. maybe she’s a miner. who knows? not me! can’t wait to find out !!!

also she kicked off combat with “Form of Dread,” which is what warlocks with undead patrons get at first level. if Laudna takes six levels in warlock at any point she will no longer need to eat, drink, or breathe.
not a note on Laudna but mid-fight Marisha quoted the “what do you have?” “a knife” “NO” vine very quietly to herself and I’m still laughing abt it. Taliesin also referenced John Mulaney (Travis: I have a bonus to initiative. Liam: that’s a first. Tal, like the horse in a hospital bit: I didn’t know it could do that!)
nothing else in combat seemed to indicate what Laudna’s sorcerous origin is, and she wouldn’t have any decided subclass because she’s multiclassed at lv3; also nothing else to indicate if she has two levels in warlock and one in sorcerer, or two in sorcerer and one in warlock. she used Form of Dread and cast eldritch blast (english), with no leveled spells.
I also completely missed the bit mid-combat where Marisha says “fuck the knife!” and the entire cast derails to take that statement literally and explain why that’s a bad idea. she follows this five minutes later with “I’m gonna fuck the rug.” this is the content I subscribe for.
kills the rug by saying “yes! I wanted you to know it was me...” and then, quite smiley, “hello !!! pleasure to meet you !! this is fun :)” to Dorian
has heard of Vasselheim
considers corpses “great resources” and says that people are “all made out of parts,” which ties into me maybe thinking she’s some kind of tinkerer or creator?? she’s got tools !! I want to see how she uses them !!! even if (especially if?) it’s in a way that’s kinda fucked up !!
laughs when FCG groups her in with people who have souls
“all over, really, I was quite the traveler. originally from Whitestone, but that was a long time ago...” “what sorta place is that?” (harsh, suddenly) “a shitty one” -- this implies to me maybe she’s older than she looks, and that her introductory statement of being “young-ish” was deliberately vague
“interesting to see a bunch of people trying to do the same things that we do” says Imogen, about the rest of the group, plz give me the Laudna and Imogen lore I want all of their adventures
“if this goes horribly wrong, we can just leave” says Laudna, making me wonder if she’s speaking from experience

am I going to be surprised somewhere down the road by backstory twists and character beats?? absolutely !! Laudna seems to me like a fairly upfront character, as in, I don’t think her kindness is an act and I don’t think her creepiness is an act. she’s probably got secrets and stuff she doesn’t want to talk about. we have no idea about who her patron is yet, or where she got her sorcery powers (fingers crossed for shadow sorcerer, tho).
I think she has a strong level of self-interest -- see her comment to Imogen about cutting ties and running -- and I’m excited to see what could come out of that, when her interests conflict with others. if (or when) her interests conflict with Imogen’s.
I think she has a strong sense of connection -- she likes kids, she likes Imogen, she likes the elderly woman they’re staying with and offers to help with the dishes and chores. probably it’s difficult to find people who like you, when you’re dripping black ichor and your eyes are a little weird and all of your comments (intentionally or otherwise) land just this side of creepy af. I think if the party takes her in, she’ll be ride or die for them.
also I love Marisha’s mannerisms and body language for her. I know a lot of people talk about Liam’s physicality at the table, and I think he does the most of it, but the rest of the cast does to a lesser extent - case in point, Travis as Bertrand. but this isn’t about them, this is about my love of Marisha’s hand gestures, and her smile, and the way that she was holding herself-as-Laudna for the whole ep. I love it.
tldr Laudna is fantastic. there’s no point to all of this rambling. I’m just very happy to see a bunch of idiots become a bunch of idiots in a found family and maybe accidentally save the world along the way.

Despite a nationwide increase in COVID-19 cases and health professionals urging Americans not to gather, some people are still hosting packed holiday parties. Last week a video of maskless individuals partaking in a conga line during a holiday party at a New York restaurant went viral on social media. Since then at least one party attendee has been hospitalized with COVID-19. Additionally, New York’s Liquor Authority has suspended the restaurant’s liquor license, NBC News reported.
The party hosted by the Whitestone Republican Club was held at Il Bacco, an Italian restaurant in Queens, on Dec. 9. Despite claims by the hosting organization that safety precautions were followed, social media posts depicted little to no social distancing with barely any masks in sight. While it is unclear how many people attended the party, at least 50 can be seen dancing on the floor or sitting at a nearby table in the footage shared on social media. Photos of the gathering posted on Facebook also depict at least half a dozen attendees without masks.
The event took place five days before New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo banned indoor dining following an increase in COVID-19 cases within the state. Mask mandates have been in place for public settings since April, but indoor dining had resumed shortly amid the pandemic. Addressing the video, Cuomo called it a “COVID conga line.”
“If you do not take precautions, your likelihood that you will get the virus is higher,” Cuomo said in a statement. "COVID conga lines are not smart. That’s my official position.” Local politicians were seen in attendance at the party including Former Queens Assembly candidate James Martionsky and current City Council candidate Vicke Paladino; Paladino led the conga line.
As a result of backlash, the Whitestone Republican Club posted a statement last week claiming that Cuomo and media outlets were exaggerating the situation. “But we are not the mask police, nor are we the social distancing police. Adults have the absolute right to make their own decisions and clearly many chose to interact like normal humans and not paranoid zombies in hazmat suits,” the statement said.
According to the Queens Daily Eagle, the hospitalized man has been identified as Jim Trent, chairman of the board of the Queens Village Republican Club. While only he was hospitalized, his wife too tested positive for the virus in addition to another unidentified couple. Trent told the Queens Daily Eagle that he fell sick within two days of attending the party. He claimed he did not understand how he got infected as he thought he was safe and “wasn’t doing anything risky."
"I wasn't on the conga line. I ate by myself," Trent told the Queens Daily Eagle. "I don't know how I got this."
Despite it being highly possible Trent contracted COVID-19 from the party, he told the Queens Daily Eagle he had no regret in attending, noting that “it was a wonderful time and a great party, but I’m not happy I got sick.”
Upon hearing the news of Trent’s COVID-19 complications, Thomas Paladino, chief strategist of his mother’s city council campaign, issued a statement to BuzzFeed News criticizing the media’s portrayal of the event.
“The media hysteria around this is shameful, it really is," Thomas Paladino said. He added that while he has not spoken to Trent he was glad Trent did not regret attending the party and was recovering.
Yes what’s shameful is the media recovery, not the person he infected with a potentially lethal illness due to engaging in irresponsible childish activity, who he hasn’t bothered to speak to.

So I already know I asked something but I read Papertrail again and I know how Trophy City is just Asriel's bed which explains the look and the people in it, the ball pit from Ice-e Pizza leads to the Rainbow Jungle, which would explain why there were balls in the lake they were in, and the hospital lead to the Whitestone Isles with all the game pieces, I'm just confused about the chest they entered, I am kinda confused by the long grass. (( Btw I am so excited when they find Rouxls and others )
Well, at least in the first place they were in, it’s implied that the Field of Hopes and Dreams was just a carpet! So the Field here would likely also be a carpet.
