We don't. That's the point. That's the entire point.

Any human experience - even the most painful and horrifying - can also be part of a story. If it something that can happen in real life, I see absolutely no valid reason why it cannot be written about. We can debate over how a specific piece of media is written and whether elements in it are actively harmful (think Hogwarts Legacy Blood Libel: the Game for one), we can choose whether to engage with it or not, we can boycott it - but drawing arbitrary lines on what subjects can or cannot be written about, full stop, is an all-around horrible idea.

"Oh we would only forbid the really wrong stuff, it's not like it would be censorship, just going to make things better for everyone" is not the innovative thought that a lot of people think it is. It has been applied, often with plenty of good intentions, throughout the entirety of human history. Everyone thinks that the line they would draw is the right one. And there has never been a single instance when this has not backfired horribly.

Hiii, I am so sorry that this is so late, I really wanted to answer it earlier but I had to sleep to go skating and then I couldn't really think of headcanons for the ships that I think are cute.

BUT I do sorta have ships, like ColoVada is really cute and I can get behind it, same with CaliYork, it's real cute and I will read stuff for it. I also like JerseyVada mainly because of the casino/gambling rivalry that existed back in the day.

Unfortunately I don't really have any headcanons which was the main reason this took so long like I said, I didn't want this ask to just float in the void for a long time. So really sorry :/

I think it’s very true. Not only speaking of Layover era.

Sweet Night? Supposedly ot7 armys were accusing it of vpn, it broke big records but everyone was being dismissive.

Blue and Grey? Personal song that Taehyung took from his personal projects and gave it to the album? Supposedly ot7 armys were saying to not focus on it, because a b-side was getting more appreciated than LGO, so it was excluded from playlists and everyone was even MAD at it.

Layover era speaks for itself, supposedly ot7 armys used the tracks as fillers for other releases, didn’t even try to give it a n1 (not talking about Hot100), everyone was okay with the bare minimum. Not even one re-comeback since the release, big account constantly forgetting to put it in playlists (idk if you’re on twitter, but at some point multiple big accs were apologizing for FORGETTING about Tae songs).

The way things concerning about him get handled. Taehyung’s privacy breached? Let’s make jokes about it, spread things even more and not care about the repercussions it could have on a person. Another member same situation? Swept everything under the rug, handled it privately (as it should be btw, not saying he should’ve gotten Tae treatment, bc no one deserves that).

It’s a lack of support that is rooted in many reasons, one of them being insecurity created from the impression that Tae is doing things to distance himself from the group, which is absolutely NOT true, he spoke multiple times about the 2025 reunion. So they think he’s an outsider and treat him as one.

(Oh, and another big reason is BH, of course)

Hey, just wanted to ask as someone who doesn't have a dog...how does health testing work? I know breeders test the parents but what about the puppies? If a puppy tests positive what do they do with the puppies? Just wondering 'cause I might want a dog years from now and I'm still confused about this.

Parents are health tested through a series of x-ray and genetic dna tests. This gives breeders a look at the genetics they are working with so they can do their best not to produce dogs with preventable issues.

In the United States we have OFA which has a wide variety of tests available for each breed and type, PennHIP which is as the name suggests more hip joint oriented and Embark which is a fairly new additional tool that can be used to test a variety of genetics, but does not replace the necessity of testing like that from OFA and PennHIP. (it's also commonly used for testing breed heritage in mixed breeds, although this is only good for about five generations back or so).

Puppies from health tested parents typically cannot be given health tests because for a majority of health tests, the dog must be mature (usually around 2 years old) for the health test to be considered valid. For example, it is impossible to test the quality of a joint such as a hip or elbow if the dog is not done growing as puppies go through many structural changes. A puppy that looks "good" on a hip x-ray can easily mature into a dog that does not have a good score later down the line.

How individual breeders test offspring two years out from maturing a litter may vary, but if you have a pet dog from a breeder it's likely you won't be health testing your dog unless an issue comes up because health testing is pretty expensive (many pet people embark their dogs for fun though). If a breeder produces a puppy that is going to be bred, once the dog reaches the maturity needed for health testing, they will be tested. The more generations are health tested the better the look at the genetic and structural health of the line. For example Slash's grandmother and mom have OFA hips rated "Good" and so does his dad. His sisters that have been tested are rated "Good" and "Excellent" so we actually see not only the quality of the hips staying good, but a potential improvement.

How individual breeders deal with puppies they produce having health issues will also vary person to person. Typically this is something to discuss with the breeder when having that introductory conversation with them before deciding to put down a deposit. Some breeders may offer to help pay for further genetic testing of a dog with issue so they can get a better understanding of where the issue came from, others may request the dog return to them, or be spayed/neutered. Again these are all just potential options, every breeder is different. Personally for me I like seeing a level of care from breeders about the genetics of the dogs they produce, breeders keeping tabs on the health of all dogs, even those happily settled in homes, is part of that.

And a breeder that health tests parents and does all that they can to produce healthy puppies can absolutely still produce dogs with health issues and it's not something to hold against breeders. Genetics are weird and things happen, but the important part of health testing is it gives us a full look at what's going on inside the dog and helps us, to the best of our ability, try and weed out those health issues (or not breed them in the first place).

i had a conversation with mochi / @solivcgant earlier today ranting about how sao fails to utilize their side characters. and i swear, it still has me going on about how they deserve to have growth. they deserve to have their own stories, even if they're not shown directly and aren't tied to the overall plot!
