Our Song
•summary: in which mercedes drivers y/n l/n and lewis hamilton are to compete in another youtube challenge
•authors note: this is an old draft!! Not proofread 😭
•pairings: (y/n x lewis hamilton!platonic)
Compared to other Formula One teams Mercedes were not know for there social media presence, unlike other teams such as Ferrari with their infamous C2 videos and McLaren with there two drivers constantly uploading a new video every week. However when Y/n L/n replaced Valteri Bottas seat in the latest season the fans demanded more content with the girl and her teammate, Lewis Hamilton.
The rain fell as Y/n made her way to the Mercedes media building. She was told to be there fifteen minutes ago however she got caught up by fans who seem to find her anywhere. Entering the building she quickly said hello to the front desk as she dashed to the room she was needed in.
“Glad you could join us L/n” Lewis spoke and she sent a glare towards the seven time world champion. She was drenched, had no time to stop for her daily coffee and now she was supposed to film a video. “It’s not my fault I actually care for my fans”
He gave a look of shock and rolled his eyes at the girls attitude which currently was resembling one of a teenage girl. “Clearly someone didn’t drink there coffee this morning” she sighed taking off her jacket so it could dry off.
“Okay I’m going to explain what we are doing today, as you know during the beginning of the year we asked you two to create a shared playlist for Race Weekends. We are going to be testing you both seeing who put what song in the playlist” The media director explained pointing to the white desk with two buzzers.
Y/n and Lewis took a seat on opposite sides settling in as they set up to record. “Recording in 3…2…1” the director gave a thumbs up signaling Lewis to start the intro.
“Hello and welcome back to another Mercedes showdown off the track” Lewis spoke looking towards you “Currently I’m in the lead because I won the last two challenges while Y/n has only won once” Y/n playfully rolled her eyes “that’s because you cheated at just dance!”
Lewis retaliated “ How does someone cheat in just dance?! We are not getting into this again.” Y/n laughed continuing the bit “So today we are trying to guess who put what song in our 2023 playlist our lovely Mercedes admin will shuffle the playlist and we will have to hit the buzzer and say who put the song in the playlist”
Round 1
The Mercedes admin grabbed her phone and shuffled the playlist the first song began to play, Y/n heard the first few notes the song seemed familiar but she wasn’t sure. Lewis on the other hand knew what song it was “Too Comfortable Future? It has to be one of my songs look her face”
Y/n hung her head low already off to a bad start, although this isn’t a race she can’t help but be competitive towards any competition. “I don’t listen to future like that” Y/n commented before moving onto the next round
Round 2
The next song began to play and she knew it in a heartbeat. Hitting the buzzer Y/n beat Lewis by milliseconds.
“You know a lot of girls be Thinking my songs are about them but, This is not to get confused This one is for you” she sang along to the popular song
Lewis laughed at the girls actions “Best I Ever Had by Drake” Y/n said as she finished her solo “Obviously I love this song but Lewis put this one on the playlist”
The admin double checked before rewarding Y/n the points and she cheered. “Now we are even Hamilton”
He rolled his eyes “For now”
Round 3
Another familiar song began to play, this was definitely one you put in the playlist. Unfortunately Lewis beat you to it like you had in the previous round.
“It’s a Bad Bunny Song i just don’t know what song” he explained covering is face in frustration trying to think of the song’s name “Is it Tití Me Preguntó?”
Luck was now on the girls side as she laughed “Can I answer!” Y/n asked enthusiastically as the Admin nodded ‘yes’
“Me Porto Bonito and it was one of my songs” She smiled victoriously gaining another point.
Lewis sighed shaking his head “That was my other answer I should’ve went with my gut”
Y/n held Lewis’ hand sympathetically “it’s okay not everyone can be good as me” He pushed her hands back returning his attention the admin to begin the next round.
Round 4
The girl was completely lost when she heard the song play . She was not really into EDM music and that was her first thought when she heard this song it had to be Lewis’ song.
Lewis however looked just as lost until it hit him.
Y/n saw his eyes light up as he hit the buzzer “this is one of my songs right? ‘On My Knees’ I forgot who sings it”
“He shouldn’t get the point then!” Y/n exclaimed but she lost the fight nonetheless
Lewis smirked “we are even now!”
Round 5
“YOU BELONG WITH ME” Y/n screamed the song wasn’t even five seconds in as she hit the buzzer causing her teammate to jump in fear at the girls actions
Lewis looked at her in shock and disbelief, he knew she was a fan of the famous singer but not to that extent.
“I think she really likes that song” the admin laughed
Her teammate continued to laugh at the girls actions as she sung along to the song “remind me never to play Taylor Swift around you”
Round 6
“Right now we have the very enthusiastic Y/n in the lead, However this last round is winner takes it all” the admin explained
Both Mercedes drivers had there hands on the buzzer ready to answer
The introduction of the song already gave it away but the two drivers answered at the same time
“DNA Kendrick Lamar” they shouted
Not knowing who should get the chance to answer which driver put the song in the playlist so they could secure ten points the admin told them to play a game of rock, paper , scissors.
“Rock, Paper, Scissors shoot”
Lewis put our Scissors while Y/n put out Paper.
The girl let out a cry as Lewis answered “It was me right?” He smiled ready to win the game
“Unfortunately you’re wrong with means Y/n won the challenge!”
The girl who was once sitting in sadness stood up in cheers “FINALLY!” She cheered as Lewis was left in disbelief
“That was rigged” Lewis said
“Oh now it’s rigged just take the L” Y/n shot back
The drivers had calmed down before filming the outro “If you enjoyed this video leave and like and comment and make sure you follow so you can check out other videos of me destroying Lewis Hamilton” waving goodbye in waves of laughter the so called “short video” took atleast two hours.
Grabbing her phone Y/n looked up at Lewis as he was met with an equally frightened face, “Did you get a call from Toto too” Lewis asked
Y/n nodded “He’s gonna kill us”

this is crazy ! thank you so so so much !!!! i can’t wait to share more stories with you !!!!

it only took one second for you to realise which song had just started. the very first note had sold it. and it took you even less to snap your head around looking for daniel’s eyes, already locked on you, admiring you in awe and anticipation. and his silly grin plastered over his face.
in a matter of milliseconds you run for each other, spilling the drink in your hands all over the floor. daniel trips over nothing, stumbles over to you, almost knocking you out on the way. but you straighten up right away as you hear the music, knowing that the lyrics are coming. slinging your left arm over his shoulders, your glass half empty in your right hand, you close your eyes, finish your drink in one swig and clear your throat, preparing for the intense two minutes coming up. daniel brings his right arm over your shoulders and pulls you close to him, practically chocking you, as he raises his own drink in the air and throws his head back. and the track finally starts.
"this whiskey got me feeling pretty”, you both scream in unison, voice cracking and hitting all the wrong notes. you rock yourselves side to side to the rhythm of the music, nearly hitting the people around you.
but you just keep on singing like your lives depend on it.
“but I'm turnt up upstairs and ‘I love you’, is the only thing that's in my mind”, you dramatically sing, clinging on each other for support. neither of you is thinking strait in that moment. you are driven by the piece the same way you are driven by the person your holding. at the same time, you both look for the other’s eyes. the chorus is up next.
“you take me higher”, you shout, attempting to match the singer’s right tone, bursting out in laughter before composing yourself, determined to finish the song.
“but I'm drunk instead with a full ash tray, with a little bit too much to say”, you yell, holding the last note as best as either of you can before ridiculously trailing off. you turn to face daniel as he pulls you into a strong yet loving embrace, and you lay your head against his shoulder, kissing the covered skin there.
another song comes up through the speakers, but you keep on dancing side to side, tripping and almost falling each step you both take. daniel’s hand come up to lay on your head, softly caressing you hair as he plants gentle a kiss on your forehead. you look up to him and smile. he mirrors your expression, a sparkle lit in his eyes. as you take another step, you stumble backwards but daniel’s strong grip maintains you upright. your laughs fill the room, joining those of the people who just witnessed the scene.
how this hopeless romantic love song had ended up in a party playlist, between two club songs, was an absolute mystery, and as unexpected and annoying it first seemed for the others, it was hilarious enough for them to *secretly* plan it again for the next time you would all gather around drinks.
ps: i really liked creating this one so i hope you like it too! also i'm glad it's a little one shot, so that you get a little glimpse of my writing !

5 Tips for NaNoWriMo First-Timers
Feeling nervous as a new Wrimo? NaNo Guest Demi Michelle Schwartz has advice for you! Read on for tips on how to make sure your first attempt at Camp NaNoWriMo is a great one.
Have you heard about the NaNoWriMo or Camp NaNoWriMo buzz? Are you on the fence about taking the challenge for the first time? If yes, I’ve been in your shoes.
Last year, I got a new novel idea I was eager to write. I love challenges, and NaNoWriMo looked like the perfect time to draft my story. Still, being a first-timer gave me nervous butterflies. Little did I know I’d win my first NaNoWriMo with a finished draft at 73,000 words.
Whether you’re planning on participating in Camp or thinking ahead to November, I have five tips for you.
1. Plot and Research in Advance
First, I can confidently say I wouldn’t have been successful if I didn’t plot and research. Having a solid story idea from the start gave my writing direction each day.
If you’re a pantser, this may contrast with your process. Rather than completely plotting the novel, see if you can at least plan major beats or turning point scenes. That way, you’ll have plot points to write towards.
Also, doing research in advance reduces the amount of times you’ll have to pause to look something up. You may have to google information here and there, but a head start will make these internet-surfing adventures minimal.
2. Plan a Writing Schedule
Planning a writing schedule is key. For me, I’m most productive when I first wake up before I’m swamped by the day’s tasks. Also, I write well before bed, as long as I’m not too tired. Knowing when you write best will allow you to plug in time to work on your story.
Also, look at your calendar and plan accordingly. Part of my NaNoWriMo goal was writing every day, but I had to work around other commitments. Last November was a busy month for me in my songwriting career. So, I had to adjust my writing schedule during busy release and press days.
Having a plan for when you’d like to write and being aware of days you can fit in more time with your story will give your journey structure.
3. Remain Flexible
I can’t stress enough how important it is to remain flexible. No amount of planning can prepare you for curve balls or days you’re not in a creative mood.
If you go into NaNoWriMo thinking all your plans are set in stone, you may find yourself feeling anxious when something veers off course. Remaining flexible gives you room to adapt while staying on track.
4. Interact with the Community
NaNoWriMo has a special community. Whether you’re connecting with other writers on the website or on social media, everyone is so supportive.
There’s nothing better than participating in an event where writers are cheering each other on and sharing experiences. You may make friends and connect with critique partners and beta readers. Most of all, you’ll realize you’re not alone as you take the NaNoWriMo challenge.
5. Celebrate All Your Wins
Finally, celebrate all your wins. Recognize when you draft your first chapter. Give yourself a pat on the back when you hit a certain word count. If you’re doing a streak, feel proud for writing several days in a row.
Sometimes, as writers, we only focus on our end goal. It’s important to remember the small wins along the way play a role in reaching the desired result.

There’s a nasty not-so-secret secret no one likes to talk about, so it’s best to start there: Black women are among the most hated demographic worldwide. In America especially, anti-Blackness is the air. It’s everywhere even when you can’t see it. From the ivory halls of Washington to C-suites at Fortune 500 companies, Blackness is treated as less than. And because that is how it works and how it has worked generation after generation, not even Beyoncé, currently the most commanding force in music, can escape the fangs of misogynoir.
Tell me if you’ve heard this one before: A Black woman was told she did not belong, that she was not welcome in a certain space, so she paved a path all her own. That’s the story Beyoncé recounted in an Instagram post in March, the day she announced her new country album, Cowboy Carter. “The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me,” she wrote. Unlike other musical genres, country is infamous in who it chooses to exclude. The genre’s history is rife with allegiances to the old ways of American prejudice, and no bearing or social position can change that.
The sweet irony, of course, is that now we have Cowboy Carter, the second installment in a three-act project of historical and musical restoration that Beyoncé began in 2022 with Renaissance, her dance-floor tribute to house music. She is on a mission to reclaim her time. The rare artist who can pull off such a canny move, Beyoncé now represents something bigger than music. She’s an industry unto herself: swaggering and audacious in reach, with a built-in fan base that anticipates every album drop, Instagram post, and product release. Whether you agree with the motivations behind her work or not (and there are valid criticisms to be made for artists who create at such a grand scale as her; mass influence in all arenas of life necessitates questioning, there’s no denying that), no other contemporary Black musician will bring more awareness to country’s gated meadowlands—its past, present, and possible futures—than Beyoncé. If nothing else, she gets people talking.
“I’d like to actually thank the CMAs for pissing her off,” X user @gardenoutro wrote Friday morning, just past midnight, in the hour following the album’s official release, calling attention to Beyoncé’s 2016 performance with the Chicks that was later shunned by Country Music Association members. Where Lemonade was scorned memoir and Renaissance flirted with fantasy—a disco-lit dreamscape where freedom and love have no inverse—Cowboy Carter unravels like autofiction, blending biography with novelistic flair on songs like “Daughter” and “Spaghettii.” It takes country into uncharted terrain. “It’s easy to listen to 27 tracks when they’re all good,” songwriter Rob Milton wrote on X.
That’s the other thing about the Beyoncé Effect: There is no room for dissent in her universe. Online, and particularly across social media, new albums of hers are given billboard status. It is cause for celebration but rarely one for challenge or sharp inquiry.
“A lot of people still want to join in with something larger than themselves. Fandom offers them a way to do that. It is not, though, entirely a utopian space,” says Mark Duffett, a professor at the University of Chester who researches fandom. “The concerns and issues that society has are mirrored in fan communities. They do not escape from being part of the wider social world.”
As powerful as her music can be, the release of a Beyoncé album exposes the fiction of a shared internet. There is not one but many. In its most intense form, fan logic thrives in isolation. On Beyoncé’s internet, as with comparable fan cultures, logic finds comfort in the sideways geometry of the echo chamber. Its reasoning animorphs into blind zealotry, wagging its finger in the face of disagreement. Fan logic butts against balanced judgment. It has led Barbs (Nicki Minaj fans), Beliebers (Justin Bieber fans), Hive members (Beyoncé fans), and the like into a cycle of heated confrontation, and sometimes wild irrationality.
Brittany Luse wasn't expecting death threats when she commented about a Cowboy Carter ad that was projected onto the front of the Guggenheim Museum, but she also knew “the Hive can be so intense in their defense of any criticism of Beyoncé, let alone any perceived slight. So I wasn't expecting nothing to happen.” Luse is the host of NPR’s pop culture podcast It’s Been a Minute and a fan of the singer. “I maintain a pretty low-key presence online, so over the years, I’ve only dealt with wild social media attacks a handful of times, with the Swifties or the manosphere, but never death threats. They probably should have stressed me out, but they mostly just confounded me. I said I didn’t like an ad, and now you want me to choke? That’s too much.”
That, more than anything, is the tenor of fandom on the internet today: Perceived disloyalty is met with Tony Soprano–style intimidation. The rise and permanence of social media has led, in part, to the decomposition of fan culture. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram brought us closer together. Platforms that prized connection boosted the careers of artists from burgeoning to box office stars. But it had costs, Luse says. Instant access to celebrities rewired our relationships entirely.
“You can find seemingly endless content from your fave and befriend other fans more easily than ever before. Of course that would bring people joy,” she says. “But that constant, instant access also at least partially fuels an us-against-them mindset that puts some people into attack mode over their favorite artist.”
But perhaps the problem is not that such intense fandoms exist, but where they take root and make a home. “Another thing that has happened is that fans might be talking on social media to each other in ways that they do not necessarily anticipate nonfans will seek out or understand,” Duffett says. “It raises the question of whether a community can keep to itself and yet communicate in a public space.”
Beyoncé represents a monoculture at a moment when monocultures have gone all but extinct. For her, extreme fandom is both anchor and ascendence. There are downsides, unquestionably so, but the people who power Beyoncé’s platform provide a necessary function too: When the door has been slammed in her face and she’s told she’s not welcome inside, or when the Recording Academy twice overlooks her for Album of the Year, it is her fans who give her the authority to reboot country music in her image, and perhaps, in doing so, chart a new course altogether. “It would be cool if she never mentioned the Grammys again,” Luse said on X. “When you can do all this, who cares?”

Promotion periods were always considered a double-edged sword in your mind. A relentless cycle of obligations that you would have to keep up with, as a single misstep could easily break the equilibrium between your mental and physical demands. The constant glare of cameras and clamor of fans wrings you out eventually, but that was the reality of it all.
Thankfully, it wasn't you who was enduring it for the time being.
Your group had just concluded a final run of promotions two weeks ago and the reprieve was more than welcomed amongst you and your members alike. If anything it was just a few minor broadcasts and public apperances to maintain some extra momentum but those were spaced well apart where they wouldn't be cumbersome and resting was guaranteed. The only issue that you saw was, well, on your laptop screen right now.
A smile graces your lips at the sight of now raven-black hair, eyes locked on Aeri as you watch her position herself on stage amongst her members. Reflective stage paneling and idly looping graphics on the main screen bounce light across her features as you watch her eyes dart around in nervousness, but that easily fades as soon as the instrumental starts.

Her voice sounds worn and the slightly concealed darkness under her eyes is a testimony to just how exhausted she is, but you can't refrain from the gradual welling of excitement in your body as you immediately wrap your arms around her. Taking note of the plastic bag she held in one of her hands, you tip-toed slightly to press your lips against hers.
'Missed you' Your lips parted slightly for you to mumble 'What are you doing here? Don't you have a schedule tomorrow?'
The nylon of her windbreaker rustles as she shakes her head with a grin, forehead pressing against yours briefly as she pulls away, her free hand resting lightly against your forearm.
'Ning and I have tomorrow free actually.' She gestures to herself with a flick of her hair 'So now I'm here.'
You couldn't help but chuckle though it fades as your lips quirk into a frown and Aeri is quick to notice the change.
'Is something wrong y/n?'
With a pout you meet her gaze 'Figured it would be better if you rested though, you look so tired'
Your hand reaches up to her cheek and she presses herself against it gently with a hum.

You could always trust that the riverside was going to be busy regardless of the time but it was ambient enough for you two to pass through without being recognized, though the masks you two wore were just an extra precaution. Having been weeks on end without seeing Aeri you clung to her, arms looped as you braced the bite of the night air.
Exhausted and seemingly on edge for the past week Aeri found herself shedding the weight of expectations, her burdens melting away with each passing moment as you two meandered to a secluded spot to eat. In fact, it was her members who suggested that she go visit most likely tired of watching Aeri slouching around lovesick.
Masks strung around your jaws you ate in comfortable silence, littered with conversations about how their comeback was going and Aeri's plans of visiting her parents once they finished.
'You're free to come along as well you know. Mum loves having you around and I know you like bullying me with Dad...' Aeri chuckles, her breath fading into the darkness. 'Or we can hang out with the girls. Jimin said she wanted to go to those markets you mentioned a while ago.'
'Anything is oh-'
Aeri's thumb swipes at a drop of sauce from the corner of your lips before returning it to her mouth with a quirked brow.
'Oh?' She grins 'Continue baby'
You roll your eyes with an exasperated sigh.
'As I was saying,' You pause, teasingly glaring 'Anything is fine with you.'
'Three weeks away and as sweet as ever.'
Not even a beat passes as your lips meet hers, the warmth between the two of you transferring between the exchange. Surprised, Aeri quickly softened at the contact having realized that amidst the chaos of stardom, it was these stolen moments of intimacy that truly mattered. These nights of pure calm, far from the glare of the spotlight made her press into the kiss more in the hopes of savouring every second. You feel her reluctance as you pull away with a smile, heart overwhelmingly warm and full.
'For you? Always.'

Hi Crystal!!! Welcome to my girlblog, you have unlocked my TED Talk. I fucking love lorecrafting and I am delighted to talk your ear off.
So I always do an embarrassing amount of research into one-line throwaways, but this sentence is incredibly load-bearing:
And as your watchful brothers and sisters close in around you, whispering their approval, you understand suddenly how cults pull people in with such efficacy.
There’s a ton of excellent articles I read which are locked behind a JSTOR subscription from back issues of sociology magazines. These went into great depth about the espoused beliefs of new age religions and cults and which parts of the human psyche these target. At the end of the day the common points are these:
Lobster in cookpot socialization: recruits will hear the least threatening version of an organization’s beliefs first. They will be welcomed with open arms and effusive lovebombing so that it feels good, feels rewarding, feels that you are part of something greater and grander than mundane life.
Carrot/stick emotional manipulation: Recruits are then made to feel guilt over actions which would go against the organization’s goals, and are praised over things which adhere to those strictures. Over time they then subconsciously gravitate to doing things which elicit the carrot, and again, make them feel good.
Control of environment and information: As the recruit is slowly boiled with increasing adherence to the organization’s will, you slap the lid on. An Us Versus Them mentality is the backbone of any good propaganda, and the organization then fosters distrust in media, in one’s friends and family, in those who just aren’t part of the organization. A sense of superiority follows here, and then you have a fresh new minion.
If this sounds familiar, it should!! You are not immune to propaganda. This is how a lot of manipulations built on belief work. State the belief. Push the belief. Make the belief the only thing worth believing. Keep the believer forever.
In 5E, Bane’s portfolio of divine influence shifts from earlier editions to “ambition, control, tyranny.” I’ve chosen to honor those in that order. Ambition first, control to achieve its end, and if that doesn’t suffice, tyranny. Might is right. Slytherinesque manipulations and power plays abound, because after the whole thing with Cyric, Bane learned that if your recruits all kill each other to rise in the ranks, soon you won’t have any recruits. Whoops. Killing is only for outsiders.
So then in my mind, recruiting for the Church of Bane works like this:
“Hey I see you’re struggling with meeting life’s basic needs. Can I interest you in a bit of mercenary work? There’s an asshole who kicks cats and owes a widow money or something and I’m trying to track him down.”
“Oh good job beating up those scoundrels, you really helped [insert name of downtrodden old widow]. Hey, if you ever need spare coin again and aren’t averse to a bit of fisticuffs, you can find me here.”
“Oh wow it’s you! Good to see you again! Here for more work? The weather’s sweltering today, I’ve got a nice surveillance mission so we can sip on chilled tea and take notes while we catch up.”
“Oh, you can’t write our Faerûnian language? Our order teaches our recruits everything. Hey, if you’re down to make more of a commitment than that of a mercenary, I’ll sponsor you and you’ll get three hots and a cot out of us.”
[banite training montage] let’s get down to business to defeat the cyricists and other enemies of our order
“Oh hey you killed a man but it was in self-defense! Hey don’t worry you aren’t damned for that in the eyes of OUR god haha… wink wonk…”

hi april! I just wanted to pop in and let you know that what you’re doing is something special: running all these resources and just communicating and offering help to other trauma survivors is just incredible really and I just hope you’re having a lovely day wherever you are. I reached out to your blog last year and have made sure to stay up to date on any posts or advice you share and it led me to realize I actually would like to pursue a career in psychology. I just started classes and while I’m excited to be here, I realize I’m having difficulty focusing and paying attention despite wanting to do the work. would you have any tips or other sources that might be helpful for me right now? I plan to remove most social media since it seems to be a big contributing factor in my lack of focus, but what else could work? thank you!

I really struggled with staying focused in school as a result of my ADHD.
Some things that helped me were:
Finding study buddies. Finding people to do work with and study with was super motivating and helpful! Even if it was an online friend and we did our work at the same time so we felt together.
Making my study space welcoming and nice. I put pretty decor on it and made it feel mine. I put little treats in the top drawer so that I could have them as I studied. I put scented candles in I could light and just overall made it a nice aesthetic. Some people find gentle music helps them focus. (Not me personally, but I’ve heard from some people it really does!)
I’d also buy myself some stickers I loved and as I finished things, I’d get to “place” my sticker either on my notebook, binder or even laptop.
Found a routine. I don’t just mean a daily routine but a study routine. I’d make myself a nice warm cup of tea as I was about to settle in and it was the sort of thing that made homework seem relaxing and nice.
Keep track of my progress. I created an excel spreadsheet where I input all my assignments, readings, etc. and I’d mark the percentage I’d completed. I set it to be colour coded so that I felt motivated to make it get to 100% and go green.
Here’s an example.
This isn’t my own, but one I made for a friend when she saw my idea and really liked it. She also found it motivating. This was the end of semester so things were mostly 0% or 100% at this point. During the semester, she’d do things like mark 1% for completing a title page even because it felt super motivating and made it feel like progress. And then also increasing the progress percentage with each step/page/etc in an assignment. (Like if she wrote 4 pages of a 5 page essay, she might label it as 75% to keep in mind that she had one more page but also a final edit to do.) Seeing it climb really helped as she updated it along the way. She also really loved the “stars” I added every time it hit 100% in progress on something. A basic one might just have the assignment, due date and progress.
I found visually seeing my progress made me want to keep making it.
Set a timer. I recommend this for cleaning stuff but telling myself I’m only going to do work for ten minutes makes it easier to start and sometimes once I’m going, I end up on a roll and don’t want to stop.
Colour code notes. I loved getting to use different coloured pens or highlighters when I took notes. It made me more excited about it.
I’m super drained today, so I don’t have much else to add but I kind of want to write a post on this soon and compile more ideas. If anyone has sources they can add to this ask, please do!

What is a Big Bang? - A Big Bang is a large scale writing event which functions as a collaboration between writers and artists.
How does it work? - The writer creates a fanfic which reaches a certain minimum word count (in this case 5000 words) over a set period of time. At the same time, they are paired with an artist, who in turn creates an artwork based off of the writers Big Bang submission. At the end of the writing period, all works are posted to Ao3 as part of the KPTS Big Bang 2023 Collection and everyone will be able to promote their works on social media .
Can I be writer and artist? - Sure! .
Can I use an existing WIP? - Sorry, but no. Unless your WIP is less than 25% of the minimum word count (1250 words) and has not been shared anywhere - the point is to challenge yourself within the time frame to create something new! .
Can I continue an existing series? - Sure! So long as the Big Bang piece can be read as a standalone (i.e. the reader does not need to read your other works in that series first) then you're welcome to write a sequel work! .
Can my friend and I request to be a pair? - Sorry, but no. The idea of the anonymous prompts is to encourage people to form new connections and meet new people - that said, you may wind up being assigned to your friend by chance, but please keep your prompts secret from everyone until after the claiming period is finished so as to keep things fair .
What kind of art can I create? - Said the farmer to the pig, go ham! Create whatever you like! So long as you are able to upload it during the posting period .
Can I share snippets to my social media? - We would ask that both writers and artists keep things under wraps until the posting period .
Are there any limits as to content warnings/pairings/RPF? - Not at all! Post whatever you'd like, just make to sure to tag everything clearly and correctly. If you need help tagging just give us a shout!
What about crossovers/fusions? - Feel free to write any kind of crossover you like, so long as the Kinnporsche characters are the main focus of the work
What are the Check-In periods? - These are very simple, they're just us checking in with people at the 25%/50%/75% markers to make sure everyone is chugging along and are able to stay on track for the end date. If you feel you are struggling or falling behind, send us a message! Remember, this is meant to be fun, and it's no fun for anyone if they have to make themselves suffer just to participate ❤️
I don't have an Ao3 account, what do I do? - Apply for your account as soon as possible. It can take up to a couple of weeks for your invitation to arrive, so the sooner the better!
What do I do with the artists piece? - Post it at the end of your fic when you upload it to Ao3, and link to the artists post on their socials
What do I do with the writers piece? - Post the link to it on your socials!
I'm not going to be finished in time, what do I do? - Don't stress! Send us a message and we'll work out something with you. How should I tag my artist on Ao3? - Insert the text shown in the screenshot below into the Ao3 text box and it should show up as a hyperlink containing the words you put between the ><. The URL goes between the " ".
I recommend when you set up your skin to post a test work containing a test image and a random link so that you're not under pressure on your posting day. When posting, make sure the URL does not have any spaces, but whatever text you use between the > < should allow spaces

you and i ended up in the same room at the same time.
september 7
cameron makar was studying in the library after her last class, as she always had since the first day of classes. her roommate and longtime best friend, valerie, had an online class, and she didn’t want to intrude. she was so engrossed into her psychology textbook that she didn’t realize someone approaching her. when a finger lightly tapped her shoulder, she flinched and quietly gasped, looking up at the person who intruded her peace.
it was a boy that looked oddly familiar to her, she just couldn’t place it. “sorry,” he whispered, a sheepish smile crossing his face. “didn’t mean to scare you.”
“all good,” cameron shook her head, her heartbeat slowing back to its normal rhythm. she raised her eyebrows, “what’s up?”
“uh, do you mind if we share a table?” he pointed to the seat across from her. “every other seat is taken and i really need to get this assignment done.”
“oh, sure,” cameron nodded. she moved her bag off the table and onto the floor and watched as he sat down for a moment, still thinking of where she’s seen the boy. she forced herself to decide that she’s just seen him around campus, allowing her to focus on her schoolwork, undistracted.
the boy, however, did not have the same luck; he was as distracted as ever. every time he had typed out a full sentence on his assignment, he would sneak a glance at the girl. his eyes widened when she finally caught him. he immediately looked back at his computer, ignoring how his cheeks heated up with embarrassment. trying to cover his tracks, he quietly cleared his throat. “do you have a pen?” cameron raised her eyebrows, amused by the poor effort, but nodded and gave him one. “thanks..”
“cameron. you’re welcome..” she whispered, awaiting his response.
“gabe.”
gabe grabbed a random notebook from his bag and scribbled random words on the paper, repeated her name over in his head. he was so distracted he hadn’t realized that his words had soon become squiggly lines, but cameron noticed.
she shook her head as a notification popped up in the bottom of her computer screen. valerie was asking to meet at the dining hall.
cameron replied with a quick yes, finished up the last bit of the assignment she was working on and started to pack her things. gabe’s eyes widened as he realized she was leaving before he could say something to her— something that wouldn’t make him look like an idiot.
“oh, uh, here,” he lifted her pen towards her. “thanks.”
“you can keep it,” cameron shook her head, sending the boy a teasing smile. “i think you might need it for when you decide to actually take notes,” she gestured towards his doodles.
“yeah,” gabe nodded to himself, watching as she walked away. “cameron,” he whispered.
gabe up and left at that moment too, deciding he would go search social media for a certain someone in a more private area.

A warm breeze filtered in through the hotel room you shared with Carlos, he didn’t give you an option not to be together as you visited Maranello with him and Charles for some contract negotiations. Truth be told spending this much time with each other had been such a dream for you, although you still kept things on the low, you knew you loved him so much, and hopefully he loved you too.

Welcome to Niloy November 2023!
We’re glad you want to join the fun in our inaugural year! This is something I hope to generate every November for fans of Aloy x Nil, new and old.
What is it?
Above, you’ll find a table of one prompt per day of November, most of which contain special significance to the relationship between Aloy and Nil. For those participating, simply take the prompt and create something around it for that day.
What can I make?
Whatever you feel most comfortable creating!
If you’re a writer: a drabble, ficlet, even a poem! No word count minimum or maximum, but in the spirit of the event, I recommend no greater than 2500 words.
Artists can do sketches, doodles, fully rendered pieces, comic pages, whatever they are inspired (and have the time) to create.
Gif-makers, virtual photographers, and other types of visual media are also more than welcome to participate and we encourage it!
For prompts that limit gifs and virtual photography, alternates have been provided – though you are welcome to use the alternates for art and/or fic for the given dates, if they inspire you more.
In addition, you are not limited to one form of creation. If one prompt inspires art, another inspires writing, another has the perfect shot from in-game photography, feel free to mix it up!
The only ask is that whatever you create be new for the prompt. However the prompt inspires you, run with it! Some may feel “on the nose,” but those can be fun to explore metaphorically too!
What are the restrictions?
For fic submissions, please use the appropriate submission tags below the text box. All ratings are welcome provided they are properly labelled.
As per Tumblr guidelines, we cannot show any NSFW art or photomodes. If your submission contains NSFW material, please submit a suitable crop preview or censored version that can safely be displayed on Tumblr. The post will also, if possible, have a Mature community content label. This also applies for other types of Mature content.
Can I team up with someone for art or writing for a prompt?
Yes! Fics and art are welcome to inspire each other.
Where do I post?
Wherever you feel comfortable sharing. Fics should be posted on AO3 and you are welcome to share the link on your own social media or in a server. Mostly, I encourage you to submit it directly to the niloycentral tumblr.
If you have a Tumblr: You can submit it directly to niloycentral, or tag your post with either #niloynovember or #niloynovember23 – both will be tracked! You can also @niloycentral.
If you don’t have a Tumblr: You can submit the art or photomode itself directly, or link to your creation on other social media (Twitter, Instagram, AO3, wherever it is hosted) through our niloycentral submissions page using the following format:
Creator: your @(social media) or your alias
Prompt: what day/prompt you have submitted
Plus any applicable tags as per checkboxes below the submission area.
#niloynovember and #niloynovember23 will also be tracked on Twitter, but to make sure we see and catch everything, I encourage submissions to niloycentral Tumblr!
Do I have to do every prompt?
We don’t want anyone to get burnt out or frustrated. Some prompts will inspire more than others and we all have days where we just can’t. You definitely don’t have to do every prompt to be included! Your creation will be featured whether you do all 30, or 19, or 12, or if you even only do 1. You’re more than welcome to continue working on the prompts after November as well.
Do I have to do them in order?
No… but if you do submit to the blog for a prompt from later in the month, we will schedule your submission to post on the proper day (based on EST). Any submissions from previous-day prompts will be posted as usual.
Prompts are being released now, but we ask that you do not post until November 1.

Bella's Book Club FAQ 🍎🌲📚
What is Bella's Book Club?
Bella's Book Club, (sometimes abbreviated to "BBC"), is an interactive virtual book club created by the Three Books One Plot podcast. Each month, participants read a selected book from the list of Bella Swan’s (really Stephenie Meyer’s) favorite books and authors as it appears in Chapter 13 of Midnight Sun, then come together to discuss it on Discord and other social media.
Where can I find Bella's Book Club?
We post most of our important information here on our Tumblr, as well as in the #announcements channel of our Discord. You can also follow along on our Goodreads and Storygraph (mainly used to keep track of past and present books we’ve read/are reading.)
Who can join Bella's Book Club?
BBC is open to anyone! You do not have to have participated in previous discussions, or even be a listener of the 3B1P podcast (though we’d love that, of course.) All we ask is that you be prepared to encounter mature themes and situations in some of our books (and discussions.)
How do I participate in Bella's Book Club?
BBC is designed to let you choose the level of participation you’re comfortable with. Most of the action (and fun) happens over on our Discord, during our monthly real-time discussions, but you're also welcome to share your thoughts or fanworks on a book by tagging us on tumblr or sending an ask/submission. We also sometimes post challenges, ask/tag games, and “scavenger hunts” to go along with our book of the month, and encourage each other to get creative. Past BBCers have made moodboards, fanbinds, playlists, shitposts, written fic and parodies, done scientific research, and even recreated recipes from the books we’ve read! The pressure is totally off, though—you’re welcome to read along and lurk from the cozy corner of your choice.
Who runs Bella's Book Club?
BBC is run primarily by bookworm nerds M (@gashousegables) and G (@volturialice) with occasional help from Shannon (@flowerslut).
M (she/they) is an Australian book nerd with librarian aspirations. From Animorphs to a Smeyer-adjacent Dragon girl phase, she's also the weeaboo in residence for the book club. When not feverishly promoting their Virtual Best Friend known as the Libby App they are swallowing pulpy Romances and mandatory sociological theory.
Favorite books: Imagica, the Locked Tomb series, Friday's Child, Picnic at Hanging Rock
G (she/her) is an American book nerd who grew up devouring like 3 high fantasy doorstoppers a week and considered the Scholastic Book Fair a national holiday. She enjoys reading gory Jacobean/Elizabethan tragedies for fun and has worked in Shakespeare education when she’s not stanning her local library.
Favorite books: Annihilation, The Bloody Chamber, the Locked Tomb series, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell
Shannon (she/her) is an American jock who read oodles of fic but thought books were mainly good for propping up wobbly tables until she had her own Reading Renaissance in 2022. Now she's on a quest to discover new favorites by seeking out recs and devouring every book in sight!

When is Bella's Book Club?
This year, Bella's Book Club runs September 2023 through June 2024, followed by a break for our summer reading challenge. Books are announced one month in advance, and discussions take place once a month on Monday nights at 8 PM EST (Tuesday mornings at 11 AM AEST) during 3B1P’s off weeks. In the event of a postponement, we announce it on Tumblr and Discord.

Do you do movie nights?
Yes! We sometimes take a break from reading to host Bella's Movie Club. Many of the books we read have been adapted for film and TV (and when no adaptation is available, we often watch a thematically similar movie.) We host movie nights on our Discord, scheduled according to demand and availability. We usually announce movie nights on Tumblr and Discord a week or so in advance, and schedule them on weekend nights (US)/weekend or Monday mornings (Australia) to accommodate the max number of time zones. If you’ve never watched a movie on Discord before, it’s super easy—anyone who wants to watch joins in via our voice channel, mutes themself (if you don’t know how to do this, the mods can do it for you), and then chats (mostly jokes) in real time via the #movie-discussion channel. It’s a rollicking time.
What books have you read in the past?
For our Season 1 (Twilight) lineup we read Jane Eyre, The Princess Bride, Sense and Sensibility, Tooth and Claw, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Little Women, and Northanger Abbey.
What’s the BBC Summer Reading Challenge?
The Bella's Book Club Summer Reading Challenge is our yearly summer break activity, designed to coincide with 3B1P’s hiatuses. Phase 1 of the challenge involves recommending up to 5 books through a Google form. In Phase 2, everyone’s recs are compiled into a list. Readers then choose 5 books from the list to read (and, optionally, review) during the summer months! You can find last year’s list here (and reccer spotlights here.)
Why are the books on your list Like That?
The list we’re pulling from was made by a white Mormon woman for her Not Like Other Girls YA protagonist. (We’ve found that Stephenie Meyer’s taste in books varies from “a quality classic but uninspired as a rec” to “this is actually a pretty cool deep cut.”) But don’t let that put you off too hard—we love reading through a more intersectional lens and Queering The Narrative, for example! We also take summers off to read each other’s book recommendations, which can be of any genre and include more diverse characters and authors. Even when choosing our lineup of monthly books, we try to schedule so that we end up with diversity of genre, era, style, and subject matter if nothing else.
