Talk about blast from the past!! Rifling through my old things, I found my copy of the game book from the Original Sims (2000).
I was 11 when the game came out and, as was customary for me whenever getting new game, I would read through the game book before bed, eagerly waiting to get started the next day!
I haven't read through this in decades, but DAMN if this isn't excellently written! The humor of the Sims 1 is right there on every page. Brings me back but I think now as an adult I get a lot more of their snarky jokes too ;)
Let me know if you guys would like to see more of it! It's really a hilarious read from start to finish!!

Why is it always "Your employees are allowed to do whatever they want on break! " or "stop stalking your employees Jon!" or "You're creating an unhealthy workplace environment!"??
Why can't it be "how was Madame Tussauds, Jon?", "did you enjoy seeing the wax figures?", "Did you get a picture with your favourite celebrity?"???

"I knew your mother. We were quite close, in fact. Did you know that?" Flori asked chirpily, as if trying to bond over mutual acquaintances.
"I did. I also know about Uncle Wilkin."
"Yes... pity he died in the battle. I would so have liked to keep him around a bit longer. Anyway, what you don't know is that I also knew your grandfather. And your great-grandfather. And your great-great grandfather - fucking hell, I'm old. But I'm getting off topic. Point is, if you go back far enough, you and I are family."
"Family?"
Tumblr media
"What did I say about pointless interjections?" Flori said in a sing-song voice. "I'll tell you if I need you to talk. Where was I? Yes! Family. Now, we leaders of the magic realm avoid both marriage and pregnancy - too messy. Too risky. This leaves us in a sticky situation whereby we must acquire our heirs rather than birthing them. Your great-aunt, Peregrine, was supposed to be such an heir. That is, until an annoying hiccough led to Peregrine becoming a human named Maude - awful name - and me losing my kingdom and being forced into hiding as a nun. Bit of a low point in my life, truth be told."
"Why are you telling me all this?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flori glared at him, but her voice remained light and sweet, "If you'll shut the fuck up, I will get to it. Honestly, people used to love my long-winded tales with multiple flashbacks and references to old characters they'd long forgotten. What has happened to your generation? No patience."
Flori took a deep breath as if to calm herself and then continued, "I am telling you all this because I want to offer you a deal. I will not go ahead with your wife's plan. In fact, I will do you one better and kill her off for you instead - which I presume you want so you can scuttle off and marry your sidepiece. But, in exchange, I need the heir I am owed. I like to keep it in the family, you see. I don't just want anyone joining Tate and me."
"And who exactly would be this heir?"
"Charlotte is a little older than I'd like, but I would accept her."
Tumblr media
"Let me check I am getting this right," said Cassian, rubbing his head. "My wife, Regina, paid you to kill me. Instead, if I give you my daughter - you will kill Regina?"
"Again, you are such a clever boy. I wish I had biscuit or something to give you as a reward."
"You can take that deal and shove it up your arse," said Cassian angrily. "I know enough about what a manipulative, scheming bitch you are from my mother. Regina probably doesn't even know anything. Hasn't even hired you. You've just shown up to try and control me when I'm down and weak."
Tumblr media
Flori rolled back her shoulders and smiled in such a way that turned Cassian's stomach.
"I may very well be manipulative and scheming - adjectives I am proud to hold - and you may be an adulterous whore who treats women like an extension of his cock. But that does not necessarily make either of us liars. Go talk to Regina yourself, if you will not believe me. I shall wait here."
Cassian hesitated, trying to decide whether this was just another step in her scheme or whether he should actually confront Regina. After a minute, he walked out of the room.

It’d be so funny if I ended up talking all this game about not caring about any of the romance options in fallout 4 and really only wanting to solve crimes with nick only to boot up the game and learn that he too can be wifed w/o mods.
But I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that he can’t be romanced.

Hello fans of Re: Dracula who were introduced to fiction podcasts through the updates from our good friend Jonathan Harker! Now that the story's over (sob!), would you like some recommendations for some other audio dramas that you might enjoy, made by some of the folks who worked on the podcast?
Jonathan Sims, who played our local phonograph enthusiast, is the writer of the hugely popular horror podcast, The Magnus Archives. The Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute records statements made by members of the public, detailing strange encounters with the supernatural. What soon becomes clear is that these statements do not describe separate and unrelated events, and a bigger and horrific picture begins to emerge. Also appearing as recurring characters in this series are both Sasha Sienna and Alasdair Stuart.
Karim Kronfli is a prolific voice actor, and while he might be best known for his roles in both Re: Dracula and The Magnus Archives, he has voiced a wide range of characters in many different fiction podcasts. Out of all the ones he's appeared in, I would personally recommend urban fantasy anthology series, Unseen. The unseen world exists alongside ours, but only a few humans can see it. It's a world where magic and magical creatures exists, and Karim's character tells his story in episode 7, titled We Ourselves.
Beth Eyre and Felix Trench played twins Antigone and Rudyard Funn in Wooden Overcoats, a British sitcom set on the tiny fictional island of Piffling, in the English Channel. The twins run a funeral parlor together, the only one on the island, until a newcomer arrives. Eric Chapman (played by Tom Crowley) sets up a much more successful funeral parlor, and the story is narrated by the Funns' house mouse, Madeline.
Alan Burgon plays the Interviewer in The Amelia Project. The Amelia Project is a secret organisation, and clients come to them looking for their help in faking their deaths. The Interviewer listens to each client's story, before concocting unique and often elaborate ways in which they will stage their deaths, before being reborn into a new identity.
David Ault is also a very recognisable voice to anyone who spends a considerate amount of time listening to fiction podcasts, and The Kingmaker Histories feels like an appropriate choice here. A weird steampunk series set in the Valorian Socialist Republic in 1911 , this story involves found family, its own intriguing magic system, and being gay and doing crime.
Our favourite cowboy, Giancarlo Herrera, plays one of the protagonists in sci-fi action/thriller, Primordial Deep. Spinner is part of a team which is sent deep beneath the sea to investigate the resurgence of creatures thought to be long-extinct. There's plenty of horror to be had here, as something ancient is stirring in the depths of the ocean.
As for the crew? Tal Minear works on so many podcasts, and if you like fantasy stories, I would recommend the delightfully lighthearted Sidequesting, which follows new adventurer Rion, as they help people on their travels. If you would like some more horror, there's their spoiler-driven anthology series, Someone Dies in This Elevator.
Hannah Wright's Inn Between is a fantasy series based on D&D. Each episode follows a party as they meet in the Goblin's Inn, in between adventures, as the tavern follows them around wherever they go.
Stephen Indrisano's upcoming docu-horror Shelterwood promises to be a series which explores the horror of suburbia, as it follows one man's quest to find his missing sister. Until this is released, I would recommend Do You Copy, in which Stephen plays one of the protagonists. This found footage horror series follows the events which unfold after the closure of Red Tail National Park, and the people who were left inside the park, after its mysterious closure.
Ella Watts is regarded as a walking encyclopedia of all things audio fiction, and has worked on several high-profile projects, including directing both Doctor Who: Redacted and Marvel Move. Her upcoming Camlann is a post-apocalyptic series due to be released next year, inspired by Arthurian legends and British folklore. She is also the executive producer of Tin Can Audio's (who are also producing Camlann) beautiful experimental series, The Tower. The protagonist of this story, Kiri, leaves her life behind to climb an impossibly high tower, making phonecalls along the way.
Newt Schottelkotte's Where The Stars Fell is a supernatural fantasy set in the town of Jerusalem, Oregon. Cryptozoologist Dr Edison Tucker arrives in the town to carry out some research, and meets her roommate, author Lucille Kensington. There's so much more to this strange town than first meets the eye, with a huge revelation at the end of season one.
If you're new to fiction podcasts, welcome! I hope this short (ish!) and very much non-comprehensive list gave you some ideas of what to listen to next!

Badminton House
Hi guys!!
I'm sharing another grand english state!
House History:  The medieval House was owned by the Boteler family from whom, in 1612, Edward Somerset, fourth Earl of Worcester, purchased the manors of Great and Little Badminton. Some years later, he gave Badminton to one of his sons, Sir Thomas Somerset who was the first to make what would be many significant alterations to the original House.
The Somersets are descended from John of Gaunt, and the dukedom of Beaufort was created by Charles II in 1682, being granted to Sir Thomas’ great nephew, Henry Somerset, 3rd Marquess of Worcester in reward for his service to the Royalists in the Civil War. The first Duke and Duchess carried out extensive works on the House, Gardens and Grounds.
More history: https://www.badmintonestate.com/the-estate/history/
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This house fits a 64x64 lot and features several impressive rooms, more than 29 bedrooms, a servants hall and several state rooms!
I only decored the main rooms, for you to have a glimpse of the distribution. The rest is up to you, as I have stated that I do not like interiors :P
We warned, I made modifications to the floorplan to fit the church, so that conection with the main house is quite weird.
You will need the usual CC I use: all of Felixandre, The Jim, SYB, Anachrosims, Regal Sims, TGS, The Golden Sanctuary, Dndr recolors, etc.
Please enjoy, comment if you like it and share pictures with me if you use my creations!

Name Resources!
Several years ago one of my hyperfixations was names, and I just remembered today I have several name sites bookmarked that would be excellent sources for naming sims! Some of these are not resources for accurate information, but that’s not necessarily important to me as I don’t play a historically accurate game or anything simulating real life.
Sites that are (mostly) based on research:
Social Security Administration - has the top 1000 names in the US and downloadable archives of names with at least 5 occurrences going back to 1880.
Behind the Name - names and etymologies from cultures around the world. There’s also a sister site for surnames (which I have the most trouble choosing for sims!), themed name lists, a random generator, and a database of user-submitted names.
Medieval Names Archive - authentic, documented names from many cultures during the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
Kate Monk’s Onomastikon - names from many varied sources recorded throughout history.
Surname Database - search for a surname or browse the Surname Index
Generic baby name sites:
20,000 Names
Baby Names.com
BabyNamesPedia
Mom.com
Nameberry
Name Nerds
Names by Chinaroad
Name Generators:
Fantasy Name Generators
Noemata
Random Lists - Female Names, Male Names, Last Names
Serendipity
Seventh Sanctum
Squid.org Random Name Generator
And just for fun:
Utah Baby Namer
I also have documents full of interesting and weird names I saved from a site that I used to frequent but left because of its members’ problematic behavior. It seems to have shut down because even people who’ve never been there get a message that their IP is banned. Weird. Anyway I will be going through those in the near future in hopes of finding some gems, and when I do I will probable share.
Enjoy! 😁

Welcome to part two of my official Henry-hate crusade. Time to cover the true ending of Pizzeria Sim! For this one, I want to take one of the fandoms favorite moments, the connection terminated speech, and shred it to piece while explaining why Henry isn't really a hero in this instance. So! Let's go over certain lines. Maybe compliment some of my favorite ones so this isn't just hating and recognizing he isn't the absolute worst.
"And to you, my brave volunteer."
Idk about you, but it doesn't exactly seem to me like Michael knew what he was volunteering for.
"Who somehow found this job listing not intended for you."
If it was anyone else, they probably would've died. The only other person by this point who was known to be able to survive the animatronics was Jeremy and I doubt that even if he was still around, he would be able to fend them off due to brain injury. Also, not so much a complaint, but did Henry have someone else in mind or just threw the job listing into the void?
"Although, there was a way out planned for you, I have a feeling that's not what you want. I have a feeling that you are right where you want to be."
Why not ask. Or at least tell him what the way out is instead of just assuming he hasn't found anything to live for and effectively murdering him?
"I am remaining as well. I am nearby."
Yep. Just make sure everyone who knows what's going on dies even though it's not like William hasn't escaped a fire before. Very responsible of you.
"This place will not be remembered. And the memory of everything that started this. Can finally begin to fade away. As the agony of every tragedy should."
I'm a firm believer in when history is forgotten it repeats itself, so quite frankly wanting people to forget seems a bit stupid. I agree that they shouldn't be trapped in the agony of it, but "this place will not be remembered" seems wrong.
"Although, for one of you. The darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole. So, don't keep the Devil waiting, old friend."
I can complain about Henry all day, but William is objectively far worse, and this line is absolute fire. Pun intended.
"My daughter, if you can hear me. I knew you would return as well."
Might be due to that animatronic you made to capture her and deliver constant controlled shocks and also somehow ended up in a magazine? Idk though. Just a theory.
"I'm sorry that on that day. The day you were shut out and left to die. No one was there to lift you up in their arms. The way you lifted others into yours."
But why. I get that being a parent can be hard and you can't have an eye on your kid 24/7, but he should've at least made there was a responsible adult present.
"Not my daughter. I couldn't save you then, so let me save you now."
Yippee. Negligent dad who can only making up for leaving his child without a responsible adult which led to her early death by using Lefty so that she can finally move on. Yayyyy /extreme sarcasm ofc
“Congratulations on completing your work week. We apologize if your situation wasn't presented to you In a completely honest fashion when you first started, but it was important that your intentions and actions be genuine.”
I cannot emphasize enough that Michael was not told what was going to happen and given the last sentence it seems like he didn't even feel the need to be suspicious of what was going on.
“Please accept this Certificate of Completion. Goodbye for now, and thank you for taking this journey with us.”
More of theorizing but it's kind of weird that this whole monologue was recorded and delivered if Michael is supposed to be actually dead. I know it's for the player, but I feel like they could easily spin this and bring Michael back.
Tune in next time where I cover the other endings, possibly rant about how everything in FNaF is awful for everyone, and miscellaneous if there's any!
