One thing that makes me rage about ACOTAR every single day is that there is no mention at all about who did the household chores when Feyre was hunting.

It's canon that Feyre doesn't know how to cook. She doesn't do household work. She would spend the day in the forest hunting, which of course is a great thing in itself for a child( she was fourteen I think when she started hunting) but who took care of the house(hut).

Something tells me it wasn't Papa Archeron or Elain. In the first few chapters of Thorns and Roses Nesta had chopped wood twice(I think, it's been a while since I read the book). I'm assuming as there isn't much info about this that Nesta was the one to do all household work. There's cooking, cleaning, laundry, chopping wood, mending clothes, doing repairs around the house if required, groceries, and about a hundred other little tasks that keep a house running smoothly. Feyre didn't do it, Papa Archeron didn't do it, I can bet my life Elain didn't do it. Did magic faeries come to their house at night to do all this.

I don't understand where the narrative that Nesta was a spoiled and lazy girl who sat on her ass and didn't do anything came from. You know, my father had always told my sister and i, that whatever conflict we have between us, we should resolve it amongst ourselves. If you let a bunch of strangers know about the weaklinks in your relationships they will break you both apart. Of course, he tells us this due to our snake-ish relatives but honestly, when I had read about the relationship between the sisters, I wanted to scream at the book to not let the IC exploit their issues for personal gain. Which they did. That's exactly what Rhysand has been doing since he met the sisters.

I really feel like we never got characters properly dealing with Pyrrha's passing. Like the grief of it. If I'd had the chance to handle it this is how I would've explained us not getting anyone talking about her until volume 5 or 6. (Note were going into this with the idea of Pyrrha being team leader and her and Jaune being a couple since the dance for extra devastation)

For Nora: She's been through several instances of people around her dying; being abandoned, two towns she's in being decimated by Grimm. I'd have her bubbly personality be a safety blanket, a way she hides the fact that most people she meets she doesn't form connections with. Ren is her considered exception. Largely she assumes people will die. Despite this she ends up caring for Pyrrha as a person. She trusted her. So when we reach volume 4 she's ignoring the grief, shoving it down and pretending it's not real. What rocks her out of that is the eventual showdown in Kuroyuri.

For Ren: he's not outwardly emotional. He won't talk about his feelings unless prompted and even then he might still hold back. They have a mission to do and the person is dead already, he has to push on. Her death hurts, she was the best huntress in the class, maybe in the school, and she still died. Nora seems fine, Nora he believes to be more emotional than him. If she can push on so can he. Similarly we don't get to see him talk about it until Kuroyuri, where Nora is starting to breakdown for once because she can't lose him to.

Jaune: doesn't want to have any focus on himself. Sure he and Pyrrha were together, but he has to keep himself together for everyone else. He's the oldest in the group and falling to pieces would only hinder them. He can grieve later he tells himself. He smiles, he supports, he's going to keep everyone else alive and not get sloppy. Not slip up. But we still do see instances of the grief, when he's stressed or afraid he absent-minded rubs the red scarf around his waist, at night he'll stare at his weapon, now reinforced with parts of her own. Jaune doesn't talk about Pyrrha until later because to him he can't fall apart or else he doesn't know when he'll put himself back together.

Ruby: is the youngest and even though she's a leader she can still follow. And seeing everyone else be fine means that she has to be to. There's no room for her to be the weaklink when she's already the youngest with a need to prove herself as good enough. It's worse because she was there to watch her friend die, so at night she still sees the image of it. But she can't talk about it at all, it's not allowed in her mind. She hasn't spoken about how the disappearance of her mother felt because she was too young, and by the time she understood the loss she thought it was too late. Ruby takes even longer to speak about her grief, to cope. She's good at running, so that's what she does.

okay wait horny scenario:

we’re in season 2, we see Beatrix’s tiny ass walking through the specialist’ hallway. It’s early morning, some specialists rush by, look at her weirdly. We see Riven and Dane on her trail, as they’re mind controlled, full gear on. She stops before a door. Knocks, hard. Once, twice. A pause. “Maybe he’s not in?” Dane says Bea eye rolls  Riven reaches over her head, knocks harder. We hear shuffling around.  The door opens Luna steps out, fixes her fancy clothes, widen her eyes at them and raises her chin, “Children,” she says coldly, circling them and leaving quickly. Riven and Dane exchange an amused glance. Beatrix is stone cold. Andreas comes to the door, in boxers, disdain in his face, “Yes?”  “If you’re done fucking the weaklink, Rosalind is calling us,” Bea says, in her best bitchy voice.
