TLDR: im a black trans artist who can use some help right now following the sudden passing of my only sister - her doberman is now the responsibility of my parents and we can use help for his food, supplements, toys etc.

Kofi (help me send Chewy orders to my parent's house)
Wishlist (literally send him things like toys, treats, etc.)
⬇️ more info ⬇️
hey guys
some of you might be aware of this already, but early October, my eldest sibling & only sister suddenly passed away due to a seizure, she had been dealing with epilepsy her whole life.
this has been incredibly difficult for me, and my family. her passing was incredibly sudden, she was only 30.
for the past month or so ive been struggling to find any motivation to draw, and barely able to work.
she was the incredibly devoted owner of a doberman named Remi(Ramsey). Me and my sister traveled 4 hours to pick him up three years ago. He's a goofball who tears up socks and needs constant supervision. My parents love him, but I can tell he is a lot of work for two people who have fulltime jobs and have lived long lives.
I'm going to try to help them take care of him as much as possible, I feel that it's the least we can do to honor my sister's memory, since she loved him so deeply.
My sister always wanted a doberman, for years she would watch videos about dobermans and talk about them to anyone who would listen.
Remi wasn't easy to raise - I shared a room with my sister when she got him in 2020, she still worked a 9-5, five days a week, so I was his nanny for most of his difficult childhood. I was his chew toy for the first year of his life about - but that only made him bond closer to me. If he wasn't following my sister, I was choice #2. Dobermans are "velcro dogs", they were bred to guard their owners, and because of this, they are fiercely loyal. I've been moved out of my parent's place for going on 3 years, and my sister had just moved with Remi out a few months prior to her passing.
A week before my sister's sudden passing, we had to board Remi at my dog daycare job while my family and I took a trip out of state. When dropping him off, although he was happy to see me again for the first time in months, the moment my sister turned her back to him he began to panic. He got through the boarding all right but my coworkers told me he would cry and wait by the door for me or her. When my sister picked him up, they said he jumped all 80+lbs into her arms.
Since my sister's passing, Remi has been directionless. He's with my family, people he trusts, but he's bored, confused, and heartbroken. My sister would often take him to the dog park, social events, on runs, etc. but my parent's can't do that in their age. If my apartment allowed large dogs, I would take him, but I can't, and I see him maybe twice a month if possible.
Ramsey's Christmas List
I made a christmas list for him of things that might help my parents better take care of him. We're trying different food brands out because he struggles with frequent stomach issues, and we can't seem to figure out what food my sister was feeding him. This list is by no means a necessity for him, but I tried to add things to help with his boredom and keep him stimulated when my parents can't give him all their attention.
i do want to state that my family is capable of providing him with the essentials to live, we arent irresponsible. i would just like to help my parents out since a 3 year old 80-90lb doberman is a lot of work to be suddenly placed on them soley. And I worry for his health and well-being sometimes - Remi has a tendency to eat/tear random objects when he's bored.
please consider donating whatever you can. Everything goes directly to him.
thank you for taking the time to read this, and possibly reblog if possible. ❤️

blurb ideaa for george so gigi is out with a boy and she runs into george and he is in protective uncle mode hahah he’s like wait until i tell your dad
gigi is maybe fifteen when she starts showing a proper interest in dating. she's had little crushes and maybe a sweet little first kiss or two but honestly was too busy just doing her own thing to be that bothered. but she's been seeing this guy for a bit now and she thinks she really likes him. apart from all the questions swirling in her head, am i old enough, does he like me, what's it like being someone's girlfriend, the biggest one in her mind is, how is she going to tell her dad. she had a boy round when she was a bit younger, and he invited the whole band to dinner to stare the poor lad down. luckily he thought it was cool.
but now she is out with her crush, and her parents think she is with friends, but they're too busy with the little girls to really notice what she is doing today anyway which is fine by her. they've walked to get coffee, well frappucinos, and they are now wandering to the park. it's a warm day and gigi is on summer break and hasn't seen her crush since school broke up a week ago. she's giddy. she's even more giddy when he reaches out and takes her hand, swinging it as she walks. this is what her dad writes songs about. she's convinced!
then she sees him. he'd stand out anyway. bleached blond buzz cut. abnormally tall. dark sunglasses. it's george. he's walking towards them, still at a distance. charli isn't there, which gigi thinks with regret, would probably make the situation less bad.
"oh shit," gigi says. the boy looks at her.
"what? what is it?"
"that guy," she says, pointing to him. he's getting closer. she's panicking. "that's my uncle."
"aw nice!" the boy says, "shall we go say hi?"
"no!" gigi says, "of course not. you have to hide."
"i have to what."
"hide. now."
the boy looks around, grinning, amused at her, "where am i supposed to hide. it's a street."
"erm. er. fuck," gigi says, and george is already too close. he's spotted them. his face has lit up.
"hey gus gus," he says, he scoops her into a hug. "what you up to?"
"oh nothing, just hanging with a friend."
george's eyes land on the boy. he raises an eyebrow.
"friend?" he says.
"yep!" gigi says, brightly, "anyway, we've got to go." she all but shoves the boy on. he doesnt move.
"you alright mate," george is saying to him.
"yeah thanks, you gigi's uncle?"
"yep," george says. he straightens up, tall. he blocks out the sun with his head. he puts them both in shadow. gigi takes a deep breath.
"you taking care of this girl?" george says, his face a hard line now.
"yes sir," the boy says. he holds his own. looking at george in the eye.
"you don't do harm to this girl, correct?" george says.
"yes sir."
george snaps back into his happy self. his goofball self. he smiles.
"i gotta meet my missus. cant keep the ladies waiting," he says, "can we?"
"no sir."
"nice to meet you. bye gussy. come round soon okay?" he says. he hugs gigi goodbye.
"please dont tell my dad," she whispers to him. he doesnt respond until he starts to walk away. he winks at her.
"oh ho ho. i'm telling your dad," he says. and then he is gone.
gigi puts her head in her hands, "we're screwed."
"we'll be okay. you're dad doesnt sound like a hardass," the boy says, putting his arm around gigi.
"he is when it comes to me," she says, "he'll pretend to be all cool with it but he'll stare at you when i'm not looking. cry to my mum about me growing up. "
"nothing i cant handle," the boy says.
"then he'll write a song about you called, little shit get away from my daughter or something."
"that sounds pretty cool," the boy grins at her.

2. The Project
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hey kid, what's up?"
Caroline shifts her gaze away from her laptop when she hears Victor's voice. He's hopping off the last step just as she turns to look, and once he realizes he's gotten her attention, he gives her an exaggerated wave. He can be such a goofball sometimes, and if he's this energetic at forty-seven, she can't help wondering what he must've been like at her age. She smiles. Nanna Grace must've had an interesting time of it while he was growing up. She probably had to figure out ways to keep him from literally bouncing off the walls.
Victor crosses the short distance from the foot of the stairs to where Caroline is sitting at the kitchen island and settles himself on the stool next to hers. Now that he's close enough, she notices how tousled he is. His silver hair is sticking out in every direction, and it's obvious he'd been sleeping in the rumpled t-shirt and sweatpants he's wearing.
Evidently, he just woke up and couldn't wait to greet her. She loves that about him. He's always happy to see her, even if they've only been apart for a handful of hours.
She has to confess she's happy to see him too. She loves both her parents, but Victor has always been her favourite. They bonded on the very first day they'd met, and Caroline can't imagine a life without him now.
"I'm making some notes," she tells him. "For my Media Studies project. How was work last night?"
"It was good. Surprisingly uneventful, but I'm definitely not complaining about a quiet night shift. How was school? And swim practice?"
"School was... school." She shrugs slightly. "Swim practice was awesome. Jack wants me to be on the relay team this season. He says I'm the fastest, so he wants me to be the last swimmer in the relay, but we still have to figure out the logistics 'cause I can't see when my teammate touches the wall."
"Maybe she can just yell 'go' or something as soon as she touches it," Victor suggests. "That's allowed, right?"
"I don't know," Caroline admits. "Jack and Matilda should know, though. I mean, knowing the rules is part of the coaches' job. I can ask tomorrow."
"Good idea. Did Grandpa Julian pick you up from practice?"
"Yup, and he told me to tell you that Nanna's still waiting for you to let her know when you can paint their kitchen."
"Oh crap!" Victor smacks his palm lightly against his forehead. "I was supposed to get back to her on that weeks ago. I was gonna see if I could recruit your uncle Leo to help me with it, but I totally forgot. I should've written it down."
Caroline laughs. "You know, you should probably write most things down."
"What can I say? Sometimes I'm easily distracted."
"Just sometimes?"
"Have I ever mentioned your sense of humour is just like Yuri's? Anyway, I remember the really important stuff without having to write it down. That should count for something, shouldn't it?"
"Do you remember it'll be Yuri's birthday in a couple weeks?"
It's Victor's turn to laugh. "I've been remembering Yuri's birthday since long before you came along. It's a super important day, and I'd be in big trouble if I forgot that."
"Isn't everybody's birthday a super important day?"
"Well, yeah," Victor agrees. "But when Yuri was born, the doctors all said he probably wouldn't live to see his first one, so it's not just a birthday to him. It's a celebration of being alive."
"Really?" Caroline is intrigued. She hadn't known that about Yuri. "Why would the doctors say that?"
"Because he came way too early and he was really sick. Babies who are born as early as he was don't always make it, even with the medical technology we have. Back then, their chances were even lower than they are these days."
"But he survived."
"He did, and that's absolutely worth celebrating," Victor says. "Incidentally, while we're on the subject of Yuri, have we heard from him since this morning?"
"Actually, he texted me just before you came downstairs. He's coming home early, and he wanted to know if we wanted him to pick up food on the way."
"And you said yes?"
"Yup. I said pizza. Is that okay?"
"Sounds great," Victor says. "Want to help me make a salad and some protein drinks to go with it? And while we're doing that, you can tell me all about your project. Didn't you mention something yesterday about a podcast?"
"Forest and Camellia are doing a podcast. I'm making a documentary."
"That sounds ambitious. What's your documentary going to be about?"
"About my life," she says. "I'm calling it Caroline and Company."
She slides off her stool at almost the same moment Victor gets down from his. While he goes to the fridge to take out some vegetables for their salad, she moves her laptop to the coffee table in the living room. It's not that there's any shortage of counter space, but she doesn't like leaving her computer unattended on something as tall as the kitchen island.
By the time she returns, Victor has lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, a yellow bell pepper, a cucumber and a red onion lined up on the counter. There's a small brick of cheese as well, and some eggs they'd boiled the day before. To Victor, salad isn't a sad bowl of lettuce; it's a culinary work of art, and she's certain he considers himself one of the masters of the fine art of the salad.
Caroline loves cooking with Victor, regardless of what they happen to be making. For as long as she can remember, he's encouraged her to help him in the kitchen. She recalls baking cake and cookies during her first Christmas with him and Yuri, when she had to stand on a step-stool to reach the counter and accidentally spilled milk everywhere. Victor hadn't scolded her for that. He hadn't even seemed particularly bothered. He'd just cleaned up the mess, and when their baking session was done, he'd hugged her tight and praised her for being "the best little baker ever."
Victor assigns her the tasks of shredding the lettuce and grating the cheese. He chops the other vegetables with a speed and precision that scares her a little. She considers herself to be fairly confident with knives, but she has to take her time and make sure she can see what she's cutting. If she did it the way Victor does, she thinks there's a real possibility she might lose the end of a finger.
While they work, she describes the details of her project to him, how she and her classmates have the whole school year to complete their big assignment, and how they're building a website to showcase their work.
"So, you're going to tell your life story in a series of videos," Victor says when she stops talking. "Here... pass me those eggs. Do you want to get started on the smoothies?"
"Sure." She slides the bowl of boiled eggs across the countertop toward him before wandering over to the fridge. "What kind of smoothies do we want? We've got bananas and peaches, and there are some strawberries left."
"You can pick," he says.
She chooses strawberries and a banana and takes them out of the fridge along with a container of yogurt. "It's going to be more than just me in the videos."
"Oh?"
"I want to interview Obā-chan in Kyoto and record our video chat," she elaborates. "I'd like to interview you and Yuri too, and maybe Jack and some of my friends. Also Laila and Dr. Reid-Mayfield, 'cause I feel like we wouldn't even be a family if it wasn't for them."
"I can't speak for anybody else, but you can definitely interview me," Victor says. "I'm sure Yuri will let you interview him too, and I'd be really surprised if Laila said no. Getting Dr. Reid-Mayfield into it might be a hard sell, but it never hurts to ask."
"Cool," Caroline says. "Another idea I had was to let people have the camera and make a video by themselves. You know, 'cause it might be too awkward for some people to talk about me right in front of me. Like, I don't think Forest would enjoy being interviewed on camera, but he might record something if he could just be alone in his room."
Victor pauses in the middle of peeling the shell off an egg and nods. "Yeah, it's definitely easier to get your thoughts out when you're in a room by yourself. I always found it better to make journal entries when there was nobody else around."
"Writing in a journal is different, though. You're not saying your thoughts aloud."
"I didn't say I was writing."
Caroline frowns, but quickly tries to smooth her expression when she remembers that it'll probably lead to her having a pronounced crease between her eyebrows some day, just like Obā-chan. Expression notwithstanding, she's still confused. She glances up from her half-peeled banana to meet her father's eyes. "But, you said you were journalling?"
"Yeah," Victor affirms. "We were. A long time ago, Yuri and I kept a video journal for over a year."
"Really? Did you do it for any special reason?"
"It was supposed to be a travel journal and it was only meant to be my journal originally," he says. "I had this wild plan to go on some big world adventure, and I wanted to capture all my experiences."
"But I guess you didn't actually have a world adventure?"
"I sort of had one. I was already living in Japan with Yuri, so there was that, and then I took a trip to Sulani on my own, but it didn't exactly turn out the way I expected."
"What happened?"
"Aside from nearly drowning during a thunderstorm, you mean?" He finishes shelling the third egg, and then deftly slices each one in half. "I found out how expensive recreational travel is. Plus, I missed Yuri so bad that I vowed I'd never go anywhere without him again. Oh, and while I was away, our landlord evicted us and we had less than a month to move."
"That's... a lot."
"It was overwhelming for both of us. Yuri started using my account around that time to record his own feelings about everything, and our journal kind of evolved from there."
"Do you still have it?" Caroline inquires. The fact that her parents kept a video journal once upon a time is a revelation to her. She never could've guessed they'd done that, and now she's beyond curious to know what they'd been through and how they'd felt and what they'd said.
Victor seems to think about it for a second, but finally says, "The account probably still exists, but even if it doesn't, I'm positive Yuri downloaded the whole thing onto a USB drive at some point."
"Could I... would it be okay if I watched it?"
This time, Victor's silence is longer before he responds. "Let me talk to Yuri about that, all right? You know we never hide anything from you, but that was a really dramatic year in our lives and we talked about some heavy stuff in those videos. I think you can handle it, but we're not going to show it to you unless we're both okay with the idea. Does that make sense?"
"Yeah, it does," she says. "I suppose it's kind of like asking somebody if you can read their diary."
"It's exactly like that," Victor says. "It's very personal. We recorded it like there was an audience, I guess because there was originally supposed to be one, but once we started posting about something deeper than mermaid lore and sailing lessons, we made it private. The only people who ever saw it after that were Yuri and me, and Yuri might not be comfortable with you seeing it now."
"I understand."
"I'll talk to him about it tonight, and I'll get back to you once we make a decision."
"Okay," Caroline agrees.
"There's something I want you to do in the meantime," he adds, and the tone of his voice has suddenly gone serious.
"What is it?"
"I need you to think carefully about whether you really, truly want to watch our video journal, if we do agree to let you."
"What do you mean?"
"It's like I said. I believe you're mature enough to grasp most of what happened, and I think you're responsible enough to come to us and talk about anything that upsets you or that you maybe don't quite get, but..." He lets the sentence fade, as if he's trying to work out how to say what he wants to say next. "If you watch it, you might learn some stuff about Yuri and me that you'll end up wishing you didn't know, or that you'll wish you'd waited longer to find out. It can be strange, discovering things about your parents. Confusing and unsettling and... weird."
She wants to ask him what she might find out that'd be so strange and upsetting, but she suddenly thinks better of it and closes her mouth around the barely-formed question. If she could learn it from the video journal and he was reluctant about giving her access to that, it's highly unlikely he's just going to tell her. And maybe he's right anyway, she thinks. Maybe she would be better off not knowing.
The older she gets, the more she accepts that her parents aren't superheroes. They're amazing, smart, strong and kind, and they're unquestionably her heroes, but they mess up sometimes and they're just as human as she is. As Grandpa Julian likes to say, 'they put their trousers on one leg at a time'.
But, even with that comprehension, she can't say she's one hundred percent ready to let her childhood perception of them go completely. Her curiosity is burning a hole through her willpower, but she knows she has to temper her curiosity and impulsiveness with reason. Victor taught her that, and his admonition to think before rushing into a situation has saved her from trouble loads of times. Advice that's always proved to be so good can't suddenly have gone bad.
"I'm sorry," she says. "I shouldn't have asked."
"Come here," Victor says. He moves toward her with his arms open, and she doesn't even hesitate for a heartbeat before stepping into his waiting embrace. She wraps her own arms around him and leans her head against his chest.
Inside Victor's hug is the safest place in the world, and it's consoling enough on its own, but that doesn't prevent him from offering her words of reassurance anyway. "It's all right, sweet Caroline. It's okay that you asked. I don't want you to feel bad for wanting to know. It's just... I also don't want you to jump into something you're not ready for."
"I know," she says. "I'll think about it, I promise."
"Good," he says. "You should give some thought to your school project too. I think it's awesome that you want to tell your story, but the process of learning about yourself isn't always easy either."
"Do you think I shouldn't do it? I could probably come up with a new project idea. Mr. Blanchet already has my proposal, but the real deadline isn't till this Friday. I could—"
"No," Victor stops her gently, mid-sentence. "I think you should. In fact, I'm super proud of you for tackling a project like this. It takes a lot of courage."
"But you said it wouldn't be easy."
"Yes, and that's why you're brave for wanting to," he says. "You already know, just because something isn't easy, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it or that it won't be worth it. It just means you should be careful and you should be prepared."
"To... to find out stuff about myself that I might not like?" she asks cautiously
"Maybe."
"When you and Yuri were keeping your journal, did you learn things about yourself that you didn't like?"
He tightens his arms around her for a second or two, and she gets the sense that he's doing it involuntarily. "I did," he answers quietly, "And it was really hard. I was scared and angry and sad, sometimes all at once, and sometimes I felt like a total failure at... life, basically. It was a struggle to wrap my head around it and even more of a struggle to change, and I cried a lot."
"You still cry a lot, Victor."
Unexpectedly, he bursts out laughing, and this time when he squeezes her it's clearly deliberate. She feels the tension leave his body, and suddenly she relaxes too. She hadn't even been aware of how rigid she was.
Victor kisses the top of her head. "No such thing as a serious moment with you around, is there?"
"Sorry," she says, but she isn't. She hadn't intended to make him laugh, but the sound of his laughter is so much better than what she likes to call his 'grown-up voice', and she's relieved that he's not upset.
"Cheeky little mermaid," he says in fake exasperation, and she feels warm inside at hearing the childhood nickname her grandfather Kenji — her adorable old Ojī-chan — had given her. It's mostly only Yuri and Ojī-chan who call her that, so it somehow feels special when Victor uses it.
"I can be serious," she tells him. "And I really will consider everything you said."
"I know you will. You're smart and I trust you to make good choices," he says. "If you're ever unsure about anything, though, you can talk to me or Yuri about it."
"Thanks," she says.
After one more affectionate squeeze, he lowers his arms and steps back. They slip into a companionable silence after that, finishing up their dinner preparations before Yuri arrives home from his office.
Caroline has no clue what might be going on in Victor's mind, but hers is tangled with the threads of their conversation. Part of her is anxious over the possibility of uncovering some not-so-pleasant truth about herself, but another part is eager to reveal the pieces of her past that are still a mystery to her. It's exciting and terrifying at the same time, and she has the feeling that no matter what might happen. this project is going to mark a defining point in her life. Once she begins, she'll never be able to un-know all the things she'll discover, and she'll never be able to go back to being an innocent, ignorant child again.
But, it's okay, she tells herself. It's like Victor says; growing up is a journey. And if I don't step forward, how will I ever get there?

Analysis: Essek's Accent As The Shadowhand Fades
I'm watching the Essek Supercut again, and I noticed Essek's accent and when it starts to settle.
Watch the first few clips, until about about 0:4:40
youtube
Mostly this is just Matt settling into Essek's voice, but when he was first introduced, Essek had a very stern authoritative court voice. But once they were in the antichamber together, and Fjord says they need to check their underwear for accidents after that first interaction with the Queen and made him laugh, Essek slips into what we hear as his personal accent.
Essek really did just make up this version of himself to be as successful as everyone pushed him to be, and make really selfish choices to protect that act. But those personas ultimately felt like lies about himself. So what difference does it make protecting it with more lies? Which led himself down some really dark paths until Thw Mighty Nein discovered him and it all unraveled.
Essek is a dramatic theater gay who pulled off a character so well he couldn't stop playing him even when it was turning into a Shakespearean tragedy. Everything he says in these early days is so intensely dramatic and selling his vast accomplishments. Essek is giving them a list of reasons to respect him because he doesn't think his inner self is respectable. Essek always felt like it was the lies people loved and not him underneath, so what would hurt people more would be trying to stop. To be anything less than ruthless.
But this bunch of goofballs, whose very first direct comment to him was a self-depricating joke about being scared, they broke through. And what broke his heart most on that ship, was knowing he'd let them down with those lies. Because he'd let them see his true self, like he hadn't done for anyone in years (decades?), and they loved that one the most. Especially Caleb because they'd shared that instant attraction and interest Essek almost wasn't sure he could feel.
So after he was caught, even if Caleb was telling Essek he could choose to be better, he was obviously hurt and mistrustful and not calling. And feeling like he couldn't go back ate at him.
But then The Mighty Nein call on him again for help with their more dangerous thing ever. These weirdos are going to run headlong into danger not for gain or glory but because it stops someone else making a catastrophic mistake. And they want him to come with them. They want him to show them he's changed. And he has.
And even if they fight it, that attraction is still like magnets. They're so scared of hurting each other again or getting hurt, they can talk in meaningful coded riddles with each other, but not dare cross the threshold where they can hold that pull back. Where they'd have to find out if they enable or temper their worst impulses.
They didn't get there before they parted ways after Aeor. But we know that sometime in the last six months they let themselves pull together. They go back to Aeor to know what it feels like to just be together, the two of them, if no one at all was there. Caleb, down on one knee, holding a magic ring, "[Essek Thelyss], I know we're not relationship people, but will you date me for three months, and then we'll reassess?"
And it worked. Maybe being apart much of the time helps them get perspective on the world outside themselves and the freedom to lead two very different lives. The Essek who visits the man with green beans, no longer sounds quite like the Shadowhand did. He found how to use his power in the world more responsibly, when only a handful of people will hear about it, but they will listen so much closer, and see him more than any accomplishment. With the bustle and fear of the world shut out.

Talking about random ass shit cause I have NOTHING TO DO.
Poptropica. Let me tell you, I grew up on poptropica, it was like my LIFE FORCE, I injected that shit into MY BLOOD. So naturally, I have some strong feelings about the... recent developments.
It all started BEFORE FLASH EVEN SHUT DOWN SO I CANT EVEN BLAME FLASH FOR THIS ONE SADLY. Anyway, it all started when suddenly a bunch of islands mysteriously disappeared off poptropica. When asked, they said it was to make way for some new ones!
But you'll never find this no matter how hard you search, cause the death of flash forced poptropica to kill off more islands so everything you try to find about any of it will only tell you it's flash's fault. But it isn't! I was there! I saw the islands disappear! WHEN FLASH WAS STILL INTACT!
Anyway, these islands disappeared, and though I was sad not to be able to play them anymore, I was excited to see the BRAND NEW ISLANDS, like everyone else. I mean, poptropica hasn't had a new island in years, and now we have NEW ISLANDS.
So in came Reality TV: Wild Safari. This game... didn't suck. It really didn't. But it did mark the start of a NEW style of Poptropica games. The style I like to call... "Baby Games"
Compared to the original islands, these "baby games" are a lot more dumbed down. Now, easy islands aren't uncommon. You have islands like time tangled, early poptropica, and of course you can't forget 24 carrot, but, dear reader, by "dumbed down" I do not mean easy, I mean I feel myself physically losing braincells just looking at it.
Poptropica islands generally rely on you using your own big, smart brain thoughts to figure out what to do next. The entire reason I liked poptropica in the first place is because it requires you to think, use your big brain muscles, and understand what's happening. It required problem solving skills. It believed kids had the capacity to think for themselves and be smart. They don't need instructions or being told what to do to figure something out.
The "baby games", however, work on the principle "kids dumb," and so they tell you what to do. You have little to no capacity to think for yourself and figure out "oh that's what I need"
They're so babied down that you can barely do anything for yourself. Poptropica has turned itself into just another dumb kids' game when it used to be so much more than that. The adventures, the slightly questionable lore that you probably shouldn't think too much on, and the humor. Also, the fact that it didn't hesitate to tackle dark topics. But now, it just feels so... baby. I feel like I'm being treated like an idiot. When you're treated like you're dumb it just makes you feel dumb. Kids aren't idiots. Don't treat them like idiots.
Also, the extent of the humor of these games is either unfunny play on words or "haha, old poptropica dumb haha"
Don't get me wrong, I love when things don't take themselves seriously, but it's not funny when it's something that doesn't really make sense to be making fun of. Like in Jade Scarab, we're asked why we walk everywhere when we have a giant golden blimp to get around... uh, maybe because everywhere is within walking distance, you fucking imbecile. Oh, and we don't even walk everywhere. There have been multiple times when we use vehicles in the islands. Shrink Ray, Cryptids, Game Show, I mean, bffr.
Tell me you're dumb without telling me you're dumb. Tell me you don't understand the original poptropica without telling me you don't understand the original poptropica.
Sure, poptropica was always far from perfect, but at least it wasn't whatever the fuck goofball island is. They took my childhood and ripped it apart and called it "improved."
At least we'll always have the old islands as they're slowly but surely re-released. It's fine. Just ignore the new islands, they don't exist.
I have so much to say on this topic. You don't know the half of it. That was just unorganized word vomit cause I had nothing better to do. If you really want an argument that isn't just me being angry, I'll give you an argument. Just not right now. I've tired myself out.

AirHeads (1994 Movie) Review
Tumblr media
"Who'd win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or god?"
My wife has quite the movie collection, and over the years she's introduced me to all sorts of great stuff I'd never gotten to see before. Our most recent movie viewing was Airheads, a 1994 comedy about three goofball dudes in a band trying to get their music heard on the radio. I've never tried reviewing a live action film before, but I love nerding about the media I enjoy so why not try something new?
Tumblr media
The story is simple, but a lot of fun. We're initially introduced to protagonists Chazz, Rex, and Pip. Pip (played by Adam Sandler) is Chazz's younger brother, and he's probably the most adorable character in the movie, being much more shy and awkward than the other two guys. Adam Sandlers' appeal to me can vary wildly - he was a lot of fun as Dracula in the Hotel Transylvania movies (the ones I saw, at-least) - but then there were things like "Mall cop" that he was involved with, which I couldn't watch for more than 5 minutes because the humor was so dumb and mean-spirited.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Chaz and company are trying to get the local radio station to play their music so they can get to be more well known. It unfortunately doesn't go well, they get snubbed pretty badly, plus Chazz's girlfriend Kayla is one of the weird assholes who throws tantrums and destroys his belongings when they have arguments, I have no idea why he puts up with her violence, but he likes this wack-job for some reason. This time she not only smashes a bunch of his stuff but also kicks him out of their apartment, so he gets desperate enough that he plans to force the radio station to play their music.
Tumblr media
They get themselves a few squirt guns that are painted to look like real ones, and fill them up with hot sauce. They then head over to the station and after a bunch of hi-jinks finally manage to sneak into the back door. Once inside, they threaten the radio DJ with their toy guns and he tries to play their tape, but it gets messed up. As this is happening the cops are called and situation starts to escalate as a hostage situation.
Tumblr media
At this point all sorts of stuff goes on! A guy gets sent into the building by the cops with a real gun, and almost ends up actually killing people. One of the gals working at the station ends up getting all for Pip and tries to bump uglies with him - Pip is into it but also adorably shy. Chazz's girlfriend shows up with the backup tape and *sighs* decides to also destroy the radio stations stuff, too, just to lash out at Chazz. (this gal feels like the more feminine version of those gamer dudebros who throw their xbox controllers around all the time).
Tumblr media
Eventually their guns are found out to be just toys, and this causes the SWAT team and police to close in. Still, they manage to get their wish of having a record contract signed and even get a little stage flown in for them to play on. Since the takeover had been airing on the radio the whole time, a crowd of people have shown up to support the band, including Lemmy Kilmister! They end up destroying the little stage that was flown in for them, since the stuff on it was all just props and they couldn't play their music.
Tumblr media
They later get a happy ending even when ending up in jail, though, as they get to perform their music in prison and sell a very successful album too!
Tumblr media
Overall, the movie is very fun, with lots of great humor. I was kind of put off by Chazz's girlfriend being such an asshole, but everyone else was very likable. Kinda like Jack Black's School of rock, the movie is also jam packed with all sorts of fun band references and even a few cameos (the aforementioned Lemmy as well as the band White Zombie playing in a bar scene). It's a got a feel good ending where "the little guys" get to be successful in making a career out of what they love, which is always nice. The soundtrack, as one might expect, is full of rock and metal, and kicks ass too.

Writin’ Comics and Junk: Part 2 - Let's Break Down a Story!
Welcome, my favorite goofballs, to another edition of Dethkomic talks way too damn much about how to write and stuff.
Before we begin --
Next update to Dethkomic will hit the internets on Friday, March 17th. It'll be another 6-page update to wrap-up this chapter and issue #5 will officially be in the books!
Okay... now onto our really big show!
We're going to get into the meat of how I actually compose the scripts for Dethkomic, this time. I think it might be easiest if I did a sort of "deconstruction" on the first Dethkomic. Therefore, if you are reading this and happen to not have finished Dethkomic I and do not wish to be spoiled -- I suggest coming back after you're through with it. :)
Everyone good? Okay then! First thing's first -- How did I get the idea for Dethkomic's first... dethkomic?
The simple answer is, I cheated and used an old fanfic I wrote. The longer answer is, I wanted to have a story I could point people to, if they wanted to be introduced to my characters. I wanted it to be heavy on the action and drama (because these are the types of stories I like to read, myself. See last entry). I wanted it to establish the relationships between my characters and the canon cast (duh. It's fanfiction). And lastly but perhaps most importantly, I wanted it to establish an interesting world I could add on to with other stories, as the mood struck, while simultaneously being *enough* of a story on its own if I never ended up doing that.
The long and short of it is, I wanted to do Dethkomic to be a hobby story. No cares about hitting a deadline. No worries about profiting from it. No real reason to give a hoot if nobody liked it, actually. I was writing for me.
And here we are..!
Part 1: Roughing Out an Idea
Once you've got a general idea of the type of story you're writing, roughing out the plot is kinda like sculpting. You start with a big brick of clay and you start manhandling it into shape.
To start a script, I like to plot out beats. They start extremely vague but get tighter as I go on. If I worked from the very beginning of Dethkomic I, my first beats might look something like this:
[We need to introduce Baen-Shee] [There is some kind of conflict] [The conflict is resolved]
Intense, right? Granted, my first pass was a little more detailed than this... but honestly, not by much. This is really all the more my brain knew about this story, at its conception. For me, just getting the parts that absolutely have to get done down on paper, helps me stay organized. It doesn't matter how blurry they are. Feel free to put your beats down in whatever fashion makes the most sense to you -- all that matters is that you and your brain are not getting paralyzed by the fear of losing your train of thought when you look at your beats. They are there to keep shit together, not tear it apart.
Though it wasn't much, it *was* a place to start, and having a structure, even in the most basic sense, kept my mind free to wander. Eventually, the beats branched out:
[Dethklok needs a reason to associate with Baen-Shee] [We establish new and old relationships between characters] [Stuff needs to feel pretty normal, here. Nothing weird.] [We find out Baen-Shee are more than just musicians] [Maybe the Tribunal is in on this?] [We get to show their real talents during the conflict] [Relationships are re-established as the conflict ends]
So now things are starting to feel like they could actually become a story. Notice how the conflict still isn't established? Don't get caught up if you don't have one in the very early stages. I see so much writing advice about "figure out conflict first" and yeah, you absolutely should have *something* going down, eventually... but details can remain vague until you get excited about what that is.
Worth noting too, since not everyone reading this is bound to be thinking in terms of Lit Class 101: the term "conflict" in this sense, doesn't mean "a fight" or something similar. With the beats above, the conflict could have been the epic battle we ended up getting or it could have been the bands shopping for matching shoes (and nobody can agree on a style). Seriously.
Part 2: The Detail Work
Remember that stuff I said last time about character arcs? Now's as good a time as any to start introducing things like that. In Volume 1 of Dethkomic, Nita's arc was your basic "the normal one turns out to have super powers" thing. So when I get to a point in the script where I want to play on that (and I should be trying to at least think about it a little bit, each time Nita appears) I can write it out. Take the scene where the Tribunal reviews each of the girls as an example:
[We get a panel each, introducing each member of Baen-Shee. Each panel should go over a bit of their less-savory pasts.] [Except Nita. Nita's a sweetheart.]
That will be enough for me to remeber that this is an establishing point for Nita's character. I can write it however I want -- the important thing is that we get the sense that nobody suspects Nita is anything but a normal musician.
The point of doing things in this way is again, to simply vomit your ideas onto paper for a while, jotting down what you absolutely want to have happen, and letting it stew until that sweet point of contention finds its way into your brain. You'd be surprised how nice it is to have all your thoughts collected so you can freely read them. I find with the jumbled mess my brain is prone to becoming at any given time, reading things in sequence often gives me just enough lead-in to know where to turn, next.
At this point, you might be the type of writer who will plot the whole of the story from beginning to end with enough detail to know what you're writing, down to the last bit of dialogue.
I am not this type of writer.
I tackle what I see in my head, first, so the things I know I really want to work on can help shape the stuff I haven't figured out, yet. I don't have the originals, but the first pages of script for Dethkomic I looked very similar to this:
[Chapter 1 - Part 1] [Nita is at a desk, filling out paperwork. She notes how much there is] [Charles says some reassuring things to keep her from fretting too much about the accidental death clauses in the contracts]
[Dinosaur interlude - introduce when the comic takes place] [Big establishing shot of Mordhaus]
[Charles calls a meeting. All of Dethklok present. Establishing shot in the meeting room. Charles' dialogue: "Gentlemen. I just got off the phone with Crystal Mountain Records and got some rather surprising news. We're blowing away every one of our quarterly goals except in one demographic. There's going to be some changes around here in the coming days." Nobody is impressed.] [Charles needs to do his best to convince the gang things are in a dire state and in order to do this, he employs the usual visual aids. Maybe the remote for the TV has spikes on it.]
[Part 2]
We need to meet Baen-Shee
[Part 3]
Something happens
Notice that some of the pages are more "put together" than others. The last fully fleshed out page of part one (page 3) even includes dialogue -- but I haven't figured out what happens at all in Parts 2 and 3. It changes, depending on how much stuff I'm trying to keep track of, and how important the details are, but this is basically all the more there is to a Dethkomic script before I start making thumbnails of the page art. It covers what I have to be showing at that point, any important dialogue I figured out (usually, I leave the dialogue until after I've done the art unless someone has to say something that establishes an important point), and any other pertinent information. Eventually, notes like "We need to meet Baen-Shee" get replaced by page-specific beats that are way more detailed.
And that's it. What you see in the example above is all I need to start drawing. As I go on, things will come to me or ideas will change which might shift the story a bit, but I tend to write out as much as I can, ahead of time. It's cool if stuff changes because I have everything I need to accomplish ahead of me in my notes, so I'm once again just whittling away at that same clay block. That said, I have a few pointers for you as you write your beats...
Part 3: Pointers
Let's start with one I will not shut up about and you've already heard me say a thousand times by now...
Get the things down you're likely to forget.
This is why it's important to always have access to a notebook or an app on your phone for writing shit down. There's stuff I look forward to writing and it's unlikely I'll ever forget to write it (and yeah -- I'll jot those ideas down, too...) Meanwhile, there's stuff I think up in passing. My brain will say "Oh holy shit. There's that connection I was looking for when I need X to do Y." Or maybe it's "Oh holy shit. There's a plothole here if I don't explain Z." And you know what happens if I don't write stuff like this down? Poof. It's gone by the time I get to it.
For every cool idea, there are a million points of connection, and disconnect, and plothole patching that come into my head as there are big scenes. Write them down so they exist somewhere and you can feel secure as you concentrate on the cool stuff. And speaking of the cool stuff...
Use your good ideas ASAP.
I know you don't want to "run out" of these... but you'll have more good ideas. Promise. Keep yourself motivated by using the ideas that excite you about your story right now if possible.
Let's say you can't wait to reveal that Character A is Character B's father but there's 15 chapters between what you're writing now and that point in the story. If it's not a major turning point (those are different), consider throwing it in now, homeslice. Or maybe hint at it if it is meant to be kept as a big reveal. Why are you writing, again? To have fun? Take every opportunity you can get to go have fun, then. The more you care, the more your audience will care. And it beats slogging through a story until you get to that magical point you've been waiting for, only to have your readers turn disinterested because there just didn't seem to be as much going on through those chapters as there was during the fun parts... that is, if you yourself can even stay interested long enough to get to that point.
Start to look for themes.
Once you get to the point in your story where you have begun to figure out the details of each individual scene, you might start looking for a running theme through your tale. You don't have to have them, but they're nice little bonuses for the people paying attention.
I didn't do a ton of work with theme in Dethkomic I, but I do a hell of a lot with it in Dethkomic II. A lot of the same themes exist in both stories. See if you can spot them:
The things that count as "family"
What makes someone "a hero"
Angels and demons
Individual power versus collective harmony, Corruption versus innocence, Life and death, etc.
Accepting a greater destiny beyond "normal life"
As always, I'm sure I'm forgetting some. A lot of these themes are universal while some of them seem to only follow a certain character or characters around. Their part in the story could be totally muted and no damage to the plot would be done since they don't exist for any purpose beyond giving attentive readers the occasional "holy shit, this again!" feeling. But boy is that a fun thing to impart to your audience as a writer. I highly recommend starting to play with metaphors in your stuff, if you haven't before.
On plot holes and other scary things...
As I said -- sometimes you'll make one of these roadblocks and if you're not careful to patch it, it might ruin your good time. The easiest way to work this out is to re-read your whole script from beginning to end, occasionally. If you're the crazy writer who is plotting the whole thing out early on, then you have a duty to go in and fix things as soon as you spot them.
If you're like me and are doing a bit more of the "writing as you go", then your job is to read what you have up to the point that you have it written, and see if there's anything keeping you from connecting what you have to the way it ends.
Look for things like missing character motivation, "magical fixes" (stuff that is too much of a stretch to allow for believability), time travel (how did they get here and/or what time was it when this happened versus what came before and after), etc. And above all else, remember this:
Most plot holes aren't a big deal, and the ones that are might just be stories that haven't been told, yet.
That's it for this edition of writin' with dethkomic, I spoze! So far, the advice I've been giving here has been pretty universal as it pertains to writing just about anything... But next time, we'll dive further into the plot and begin doing the other half of the work that comes specifically with working in a visual media. I am of course, talking about the art!
See you in a little over a week, pals!

The wonderful people think you'll take over society with your armies and our revolutionary war to force those lasers into your possession isn't that what you're doing and they admit that's what they're doing. You see what Tommy f is up to there's a whole bunch of idiots like him who want to arm this fella or the other group and you're not really taking over anything because we oppose you too and you're fighting each other and your traitors and we hear it often that you're sick and you're useless and you might die anyways but really you think you can take them over and I don't think you can take a flea over you're so horrible at this what a nightmare you have become and you're small it's very odd now we're beginning to go after you I don't see that you're kind of fierce and that we have neglected the boy and he's right this is so damn hard I know this gibberish does anything or Zach was talking or backwards talking foreign languages nothing has any effect except force. Your perpetuating the cycle anything freeing up a laser is how to win when you don't control it and we see the behavior and we understand it you're pretty much only thieves and that's what you know how to do and try and manipulate people like your chimpanzees the end is coming for you and you'll know why
Mac propper we're going to follow up with a written statement to you more lock and we mean other than the pseudo empire who still is hanging out to their class and progress sake what you're saying and doing is disgusting you Max more like a gross he disgusting it's repulsive you're a little kids I'm with the hormone it's ridiculous he's just a little bigger very fast there's something definitely wrong with you people we need you ours and we need you out in the battles have begun between goofballs this little empire is also having a war with you idiots both of you

They are blastsing them to nothing and they keep coming. They're hitting them with tons of stuff okay they're numbers of going down and it's seemingly slow but it's a lot of people it is a huge number and they asked so they can try and take over and they're doing it they brought chips in and are hitting. Right now the max morlock have fallen from around 9.6% to about 9.3%. they're steadily falling pretty soon they'll fall far but we suspect that will be fighting over the cavern which they are going to and it is on New Zealand that they will start to fight and the sun has said there's a tunnel to Antarctica from South America and PGA looked and there is and he's there and found Trump's in the tunnel in a lot of them there's a couple other ways no it's going on right now and Trump is going to try and pretend he was George and take him to South America underground until America and we are helping to prevent that and it's raining the whole world to try and do it and now his own went apart and you keep saying you don't have one and it's robots so they're going after the robots and what a joke that's turning into. It is a ward developing and this one is going to be a lot bigger than the others bja has been messing around with quite a bit here and he's on the warpath moving people in that's out of the pseudo empire and to deflect Trump and go after him is a huge war now and he is under the gun and it's not used to it in the a******still thinks he's running everything and he's a huge puke it is the weirdest thing I've ever seen this guy is inside out he's actually going to take him to the cleaners and just won't stop talking like an a****** it's just about everybody. Not only that but his son is making it worse and then go around as two black guys in their own bodies I was stupid African American is very difficult. Now there is idiots everyone's chasing so they're not going to be able to tell anything and yes it is our father and mother from Africa full size both sides Gu and Oya and Hera's side.
That is going to be massive and South America the tip there there's going to be a massive war and the bugs are already starting to go down there and they're going to decimate them and the cavern is going to be attacked by bugs shortly it might take a week DJ is going to New Zealand and with huge forces and Trump cannot stop him on the war over Titan and other in space with them I've come to a close tell me after sitting with 100 billion and it's spread out at five locations the force that went after Venus is gone we'll see absorbed by the pseudo empire the remaining force is gearing up to start their engines they're racing and oddly they finish at the same time all the time and they're going to try and do it they say so we do know what they mean and we're recommending people to go after them now we're sending it out and we're discussing it you're talking about hitting Earth and more and we can't allow it to happen we're going to mobilize a very large Force and he says to get it going and what you mean that now we're going to talk to people and we can see them heating up. We see the fleet of the warlock Max heating up now too and on both sides are moving and we're going to be right on them in about 2 minutes as are the others and we're going to start taking them apart to see if they move towards the Earth or other we hit them and they're trying to move and we're firing and others are firing and their fleet is going to be cut in half in moments and what they deserve it boy do they deserves this war is going to heat up at New Zealand and South America and it's entrances and up north shortly too it's going to be huge and we can expect losses about half a percent a day in a month will be gone from the islands any other poor yes they are poor

Active musings/headcanons about the polyband SUAU:
Of course, everyone has their Mains.
Steven has Connie, his wife whom he loves more than anything.
Jacob has Jasmin (and Alex but it’s mostly a weird mix of platonic romantic attraction) whom he would take a bullet point blank in the head for.
Adam, Hazel and Anna are all tightly knit together, the classic “love triangle turned into an impromptu polycule by a happy puppy boy alien” story. You know the one.
But outside of those main relationships, we see that certain people just mesh differently, creating new kinds of love and feelings that make things just better in general.
Here’s my favorites from my top three:
3.) Jasmin and Alex- My god, those two have loathed each other from the very beginning like siblings. They argue and make fun of each other like it might win them the lottery. But when push comes to shove, they work well together behind the scenes. They are practically the same person with some minor personality traits that vary, which is why they struggle to get along on the surface. If I met someone like me I’d hate them too 😂. It’s cute, even if it can be tiring to have to hold them apart so they don’t throw hands. If they were to be let go though, they still wouldn’t hit each other. They’d just walk away all huffy 🥹
⭐️ "Hey Alex, this could be us," Jacob called to the man who was now texting like it was his job. He walked over typing with one hand and his finger up to ask for a second before he responded.
"Jacob, it won't look good if I kick you in the balls for being a flirt," Alex calmly explained, tucking it away.
"Healing powers!" Steven reminded him.
Alex cursed under his breath. "What's my pass toll? I’m already sick of you guys in particular."
"A kiss and a compliment for my fiancee."
Sighing, the promo manager let Jacob present his cheek for a kiss and the photographer giggled to themselves. "These are really good pictures. Your band should do modeling when you're done."
Jasmin pinched Alex and blocked a smack. "At this point, we’re stuck together for life."
"Jasmin, you… look a lot less like someone I want to punch in the mouth today," Alex told her amiably. The angel wings and halo were as fake as his “compliment”.
Jasmin put a hand over her heart anyways and presented her other. "Why, thank you, Alex. Since we're on good terms now, why don't you kiss my hand to make sure your compliment is authentic? Be a gentleman for once.”
Jacob cackled as Alex gagged multiple times before he completed the menial task and scrubbed at his lips. "You taste like perfume."
"Better than tasting like asshole."
Jacob collapsed to the ground in laughter as his legs gave out and the two started arguing. "I'm so in love with you idiots."
"You're the idiot!"
“Jacob, get the bail money. I’m going to jail.”
"These are such good pictures," The photographer repeated.
2.) Steven and Hazel. It’s the bromance story of the EON, my guy. These are the same guys that talk about brands of beer inbetween football commercials (Hazel spends time explaining the rules of the game to Steven) while at the same time being the kind of friends where Hazel bangs Stevens senseless and calls him a princess. Both are kinda a little bit of himbos, and they started off as roommates (*gasp* And they were ROOMMATES!). I’m in love with their best friendship.
⭐️ "Now where oh where have I heard that before?" Steven smacked Connie’s ass and watched it bounce before grabbing a handful and humming to himself. "You're so sexy. Let's wrap this up."
"You're animals," Hazel teased with an eyebrow wiggle.
"So are you," He retorted. "How many times have you casually brought up the fact we fuck every once in awhile?"
“Apparently not enough, Princess. Apparently not enough.”
✨ But my NUMBER ONE FAVORITE DYNAMIC IS JACOB AND ADAM! ✨
It’s not the goofball and goth thing everyone’s always gushing about, that’s not the character troupe I think of when I think of them (shit… now I’m kind of thinking of it). Adam and Jacob have both have the very deepest kind of depression and they just understand each other. If I had been thinking right, maybe I’d have had them together but I think this feels better to me. They ARE together, they just aren’t each other’s mains. HOWEVER, that doesn’t stop them from acting like a married couple. I think they’re really twin flames, which is rare to find. It’s strange though because I wouldn’t call them best friends either, they just feel so much for each other it’s kind of a driving force keeping them close together. Adam makes tea when Jacob comes home. Jacob notices Adam’s depressive spirals before anyone, and he loves him aggressively through it.
⭐️ Jacob finally spoke to him again directly a week later, perched on top of the fridge drinking a beer.
Adam raised his eyes slowly. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Everyone's out. It's my turn to babysit." He took a long drink and crushed it with his hand so hard it cut into his skin.
Adam flushed at the sight of the blood and turned his head away in irritation. It was like he just kept getting more and more fucked up as time went on. "Don't call it that."
The man ignored him and downed another beer to repeat the process. This time as he spoke he crushed it faster, seemingly unfazed by the pain. "Never do it again."
He felt like a liar, but he hoped it was true when he said, "I won't."
Jacob pressed harder, unconvinced and desperate. "I'm serious. I'm so serious right now."
Adam's lips curled. "Why so serious?"
"No way did you just make a clown joke at a time like this." He hopped down and grabbed a fistful of Adam's shirt. "Look me in my eyes and tell me if you think I'm just clowning around, Adam."
He couldn't do it, too much heat was rushing to his face and suddenly he was trying to have a single thought he was proud of. "I-I know. I'm sorry."
Jacob didn't let go, he pulled him closer for a kiss as angry as his words and slammed him against the fridge. Jacob was stronger than he was, though he rarely chose to show it in favor of being submissive to him.
Adam fought the urge to submit instead and scowled into the kiss. "You can't force me to not be suicidal."
"Watch me." His green eyes turned glassy. "I have rarely been more afraid in my entire life." Adam hated hearing his voice break so violently. He hated how his depression made people tremble with too many emotions to hold.
"I won't do it again," He murmured. "I promise."
Jacob pushed off of him, his fists clenched. "Fuck."
He was quiet with his back turned to him, shoulders rising with every erratic breath as he tried to find the right words to say. Adam was ever patient, his patience ran eons long and galaxies wide. With this polycule, he kinda had to be when it was overrun with Brats and cocky tops.
"I don't ever want to lose you, Adam. Okay?" He was clearly crying, but his body language said to be still. Explosions from Jacob were few and far between nowadays. To make him this upset, he must really care.
Adam blinked the tears out of his own eyes, not bothering to wipe them away. "You're not going to."
Jacob chuffed and reached a hand behind him. "Then come and let me hold you."

You can't tell me your best friend is more awesome than mine.
Jk. But seriously, we just spent an hour on the phone because I'm sick and my best friend is driving home from college. And we literally just harmonized (sickly) Eye of the Tiger because we hoped my side of the connection could overcome his crappy connection. We're music trash.

Chapter 5: A Life-Changing Decision
Warning: Mentions of accidental fire, mentions of food, fluff.
A/N: We're back !!!!! this chapter's a pretty long one to make up for the absence of a chapter. Enjoy!
Saturday morning, 7:06 am.
Charlotte was wide awake. She wouldn't admit it to Evie but she was probably more excited than her. Even though she was the type to always wake up late, she got up 2 hours earlier than she usually does.
After freshening up, she sat down on her window-side seat. It was not quite often you would see her in this form, quiet and peaceful. The soft melodies travelled through the room as Charlotte sighed happily.
"I see that the school's local adventurer has a quiet side" Charlotte turned around to see her friend smiling softly and she smiled back.
"Just thought I could use a break from my exhilarating life" Charlotte laughed out, placing her guitar back on the stand.
"Well now that I'm done, it's time to have some excitement in life" Charlotte declared, dragging Evelyn to the kitchen to make breakfast.
A few minutes later…,
“Charlotte Belladonna, you are officially banned from the kitchen and anything that emits fire!” Evelyn scolded as she poured water over the raging fire.
Long story short, Charlotte had been the one to cook breakfast and almost burned the apartment down.
"For the hundredth time, I'm sorry!" Cherry said, exasperated, but being the goofball she was, soon started laughing.
Evie was not having it!
"Charlotte Belladonna, you almost burned down the house and you're laughing?!"
"I'm sorry it's just that you're acting like Molly Weasley," Cherry burst out laughing, and soon Evie joined in.
Just then Albert came into the kitchen. He put down his files and looked at the girls laughing their heads off.
“What’s so funny?” He asked the two girls, who, having noticed him, calmed their laughter a little.
"Oh nothing, just Evie acting like a mother hen that's all." Charlotte grinned innocently earning her a smack from Evie.
“That was only because Cherry here has a little interest in arson since she almost burned down the apartment.” Evie retorted with a smile.
"So do you both have any plans for today?" Albert asked both of them.
The two girls shared a look. The auditions would start at noon and the cutoff would be at eight in the evening.
Evelyn took a glance at the wall clock in the kitchen, 9:15 am. They had about three more hours before they had to head to the auditions. Not to mention that there would be a lot of people auditioning, they would have to at least get there an hour earlier to get a good spot in line.
When talking it over the night before (once Albert had already headed home), they both agreed that Cherry would audition for the role of Aster (Sirius Black’s daughter) and it was more than obvious that Evelyn should audition for Callisto (Hermione Granger’s older sister).
“We have somewhere to be in around 2 hours. But, as of the moment, we don’t.” Charlotte said.
“What did you have in mind?” Evelyn asked.
Albert gave a small smile, “Nothing. Just thought we should go out and have a proper breakfast - seeing as Charlotte almost burned down the apartment.”
“I already said sorry!” Charlotte complained but started laughing nonetheless
“I told you so.” Evelyn laughed.
--
“Thank you so much for the wonderful and not burnt breakfast, Albert.” Evelyn smiled, downing the last of her coffee.
Charlotte almost spewed her drink, hitting her best friend on the shoulder, “Do you have to bring it up every time?”
Evie laughed, “Do you think that I’ll forget it after today? No way! I’ll be teasing you about it until the day I die.”
Albert looked at the two girls fondly, “Do you still have time before you have to get to your ‘important plans’?”
Evelyn glanced at her watch, 10:00 am, “We still have about an hour.”
Albert just gave a small smile, “How about a small trip to the bookstore before you two leave for your plans. My treat.”
Charlotte and Evelyn exchanged a look with each other.
“You don’t have to do that.” Charlotte said, “You were already kind enough to take us out for breakfast.”
Albert waved her off, “Don’t worry about that. Now, come on, let’s go to the bookstore - before the both of you change your minds.”
---
"How many more books do you plan on buying?!" Charlotte sighed carrying a stack of heavy books only 2 of which were hers while the rest were all Evie's.
"Are you kidding? You can never have too many books." Evie giggled as Cherry blew out her chocolate hair, exasperated, and placed all the books in Evie's tote bag.
"So how much time do we have before you both need to head off ?" Albert asked as he paid the cashier for the books.
Cherry gave a glance at her watch. 11:23 it said.
"I think it's time we get going," Cherry said, putting on her coat, Evie following soon after.
Albert narrowed his eyes slightly, still suspicious as to where the two girls were going but didn't bring up the topic, only nodding and agreeing to take their books back to their apartment.
Once the girls knew the coast was clear, they raced to the subway station, rushing into one as quickly as they could.
“Well, that was close,” Charlotte panted the doors through which she had run through closing tightly.
The girls found an empty corner, Evelyn sitting down and taking out her copy of the Philosopher’s stone, while Charlotte leaned on one of the walls as she scanned through her copy of the same.
While the subway took them to their destination, Evie couldn’t let out a thought that had been running around in her head. Taking out the piece of paper that was nestled in the pocket of her coat, she stared at the numbers written in slightly messy penmanship.
Charlotte nudged her gently, nodding towards the piece of paper, “Who’s that?”
“Oliver,” Evelyn answered softly.
It took all of Charlotte’s willpower to suppress a smile and to stop herself from teasing her friend, “The guy you met at the coffee shop?”
“Yeah.”
Charlotte rolled her eyes, “He gave you his number, didn’t he?”
“Call him then,” Charlotte said, returning to her book.
“I can’t.” Evie shrugged, “He might think I’m crazy.”
To her friend, it sounded more like a statement than a question. After mentally debating with herself on the matter, she then pulled out her phone and dialled the number.
It took three rings before someone picked it up.
“Hello, Oliver Phelps speaking.” The dreamy voice that she had remembered reached her ears.
“Hey Oliver, it’s Evelyn Summers - pumpkin spice latte girl?”
Evie mentally facepalmed herself for that very embarrassing statement.
She shooed Cherry, who had covered her mouth in an attempt to stop her giggles, to which she only giggled harder and nudged Evie to talk more.
On the other side of the call, James was grinning madly while a blush made its way to Oliver’s cheeks.
Who’s that? James mouthed, causing Oliver to smack his shoulder.
None of your business, Oliver mouthed back.
“Hey Evelyn, yeah, I remember.” Oliver smiled, “How are you?”
Evie smiled while her best friend pretended to read when in reality, she was eavesdropping on the little exchange happening next to her.
“Amazing.” She replied, “How about you?”
“I could be better without my annoying brother trying to pester me every chance he gets.” Oliver chuckled as James gave him another teasing smile.
“Tell me about it.” Evelyn said, “Their main mission in life is basically to annoy you.”
“You have a sibling?”
“I don’t. But, I do have a best friend who acts like one. She literally almost burned down our apartment this morning.”
“I swear.” Charlotte’s complaint could be heard in the background, “Every time. I already said I was sorry.”
“If you had really managed to burn down the apartment - sorry won’t get us a penthouse.”
“I’m just saying.” Charlotte shrugged.
“I’m guessing that’s her,” Oliver said, the smile evident in his tone.
“It surely is.” Evelyn laughed, “So, what’re you doing right now?”
“I am not supposed to be telling anyone about this, but my brother and I are going to audition for a movie. We were supposed to skip school to audition - but the date was moved to a weekend so here we are.” Oliver said.
“Is the movie by any chance, Harry Potter?” Evelyn asked.
“Yeah. How did you know?”
Evie gave Cherry a look before mouthing, oh my god.
“Well, I am not supposed to be telling anyone about this.” She giggled, quoting him from earlier, “But, my best friend and I are actually on the way to the same auditions as we speak.”
“That’s amazing!” Oliver said excitedly, “I can’t wait to see you!”
“Same here.” Evie prompted, thankful that he couldn’t see her blush.
“Well, I gotta go now. As they do say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. So, I’ll see you later?”
“Definitely. That is if you find me.”
“I most definitely will.”
The minute the call was ended, Cherry started squealing and acting like a fangirl,
“I can’t wait to see him in person and ship the two of you.”
“You mean what you’re doing right now isn’t shipping us? Gosh, I didn’t know that you’re fangirling on a whole other level.” Evie jokes, causing the girl to smack her shoulder.
"I have other ways of fangirling you know" Cherry grinned proudly.
"But just so you know, if you see him I'm not letting you chicken out," Cherry said, as the girls got off the subway.
"You’re going to talk to him and you're gonna introduce him to me and then you'll get married and-"
"Woah Woah we just met Cherry!!" Evie scolded her friend as they walked to the London hall. As they reached the London hall, Cherry took a steadying breath.
“Well, this is it,” Cherry sighed, smiling earnestly at Evie who returned the smile. Hand in hand, the girls put on a determined face and headed inside. Once inside, the air was thick with tension and anticipation. Multiple characters were being auditioned for and it was clear that everybody wanted to land in one of the main characters.
Finally, after waiting two hours in a queue they both had to go to different rooms for their auditions.
“Wish me luck,” Evelyn clasped her friend’s hand for a few seconds for comfort.
“Here's to being famous,” Charlotte joked warmly, before heading inside.
Charlotte’s pov
The moment I bid goodbye to Evie, I started feeling nervous. Walking into the room I could feel my hands get slightly sweaty.
I shook my head. “Come on Charlotte, this is no time to get flustered,” taking a breath I entered the room.
Honestly, I felt my jaw drop as I entered my room. It was AMAZING!! The multiple set pieces looked as if they had popped out of the book!
Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to admire the room and was immediately pulled away to a corner by two ladies. Both of them were in business suits and were talking fluently into their earpieces.
They handed me what I assumed was my script and told me to memorise it. Going over the script, I felt confident. “This was going to be good,” I said to myself. A couple of minutes later I was ready to be called. But let’s just say I had to wait for 15 MoRe MiNuTeS before finally being called.
“Now, sit down,” I did as I was told, by who was probably the casting director, and sat on the bleachers.
“Ok now, hope you’re well versed with the scene?” he asked and I nodded and sent a thumbs up.
“Now, ACTION!”
Pretending that Fred was standing beside me I put on a smile.
"Hey there I'm Aster, Aster Black" ” I said. Imagining Fred's reply I slouch back a little and continue,” oh so you're a Weasley huh? Should've guessed that from your freckles and red hair, but anyways it was great meeting you.”
“And CUT!”
I turned around to see the casting director smiling widely and nodding with approval. I was again ushered aside by a lady while the auditions continued. She sat me down and gave me a flyer for the next audition which was at Edinburgh.
“We think you did quite well M’dear, so we were wondering if you would come for the next round of auditions,” I looked up to her, grinning.
“Of Course I would, thank you for this opportunity,” I shook her hand over and over again before heading outside. I was feeling quite hungry so I headed to a nearby ice cream parlour.
Wonder how Evie was doing?
Evelyn’s POV
After parting with Charlotte I headed down the hall and entered what I would assume was the filming room. The only word I could think of when I entered the room was “magnificent”. I was blown away by the room's magnificence.
I noticed that there was a girl a few years younger reading a book quite ferociously. Guess I was having a pair audition, not that I had experience with these things, but there's a first time for everything. Just as I was about to introduce myself to the girl a lady pulled us into a corner. She handed us two scripts.
"Well now you two get to know each other, we'll call you when we're ready." She said and walked away.
After introducing myself to the girl I returned to reading the script. Just as I was summarising the script for the third time, we were called. The girl and I sat down on the couch. I felt myself getting a little nervous but I took a breath to calm myself down. But I noticed the girl fumbling. I squeezed her hand in hopes to calm her down.
"And ACTION"
I waited as I looked at the girl. She was too nervous to even speak. Oh boy, this is bad. Ok Evie you'll just have to improvise, you can do this, I told myself.
I smiled lazily at the girl, trying to appear that I wasn't aware of her having a literal panic attack.
"So 'mione, have you seen the boys anywhere?"
The girl fumbled, trying to reply but I could see she was breaking into a cold sweat.
Not seeing any other option I gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. She took a steadying breath and finally continued.
We finished the scene and got to go but I was stopped and ushered into a corner by the casting director.
"You did quite well there kid, I was impressed. So," he took one of the flyers and handed it to me," I was wondering if you would like to be there for the next level of auditions"
I was bursting on the inside, but I kept my composure, nodding in response. He gave me a thumbs up and finally let me go.
Authors POV
The moment Evelyn came outside she jumped like a little school girl. Unknown to her, someone was smiling as he watched her, and that someone was Oliver Phelps.
"I see someone's gotten good news" Evelyn turned around to see Oliver leaning on a pillar and smiling that dreamy smile.
She immediately felt the heat rise to her cheeks at the embarrassment of Oliver seeing her acting like a little schoolgirl.
“I did.” Evelyn mustered a smile as Oliver came closer to her, “I have just been accepted for the second round of auditions.”
“Congrats!” Oliver grinned, “Guess, I’ll be seeing you in Edinburgh then?”
“You got in too?” She asked, not being able to contain her excitement.
“I did!” He exclaimed, “Since we auditioned for the twins - I guess that means my brother did too.”
“So,” Evelyn mused, looking around for basically a clone of Oliver, “where is he?”
Oliver shrugged, “Waiting in the car along with my parents - I just told them I had to run to the loo for a bit then I saw you.”
She tried to ignore the faint blush making itself known on her cheeks, then she remembered her best friend, “Well, if you don’t mind, my best friend has been very eager to meet you - for no particular reason at all - and she’s by an ice cream parlour nearby so if you want-.”
Oliver smiled, cutting off her ramble, “I would love to.”
Leading the way, she was immediately met with her best friend’s chaoticness the minute the two entered the parlour.
“HOW DID YOUR AUDITIONS GO? I GOT INTO THE NEXT ROUND! AND-”
She paused for a moment as her eyes laid on Oliver, “Is this Mr Dream Guy who I keep hearing about?”
Evelyn shot the girl a glare, “First of all, I do not call him Mr Dream Guy. Second of all, yes, this is Oliver.”
He smiled at her, shaking her hand, “Oliver Phelps unless you were expecting someone else.”
“No.” Charlotte laughed, “Honestly, you exceeded expectations.”
“Good to know. So, Mr Dream Guy?” Oliver now turned his teasing to the girl next to him.
“Cherry was just joking. I do not, and did not ever, call you that.” Evelyn explained, avoiding his gaze.
“Alright then - I better get back to my parents before they launch a nationwide manhunt.” Oliver smiled, before turning to Evelyn, “See you in Edinburgh and if you miss me - give me a call.”
Evie playfully rolled her eyes at him, “As if.”
He gave her a subtle wink before heading out of the ice cream parlour.
"Sooooooooo" Charlotte quirked a brow, a mischievous smirk on her face as they both sat down at a table, "He's nice,"
"Can we PLEASE move on," Evie pleaded, her cheeks still red.
"If you say so, but I'm gonna be teasing you until the day you die and the ride on the subway back home," Charlotte giggled.
"Oh speaking of which," Evelyn pulled out the flyer she had been given and placed it in front of her friend. Charlotte's face lit up, even more, a huge grin on her face. Evelyn mirrored Cherry's grin.
She pulled Evie from her seat and the two girls jumped up and down like five-year-olds screaming,
"WE GOT THROUGH THE FIRST ROUND!!!!!"

"The truth is we're both frauds. Your ancestors didn't send me, they don't even like me. But you risked your life to save the people you love. I risked your life to help myself. At least you had good intentions.
What? What do you mean you're not lucky? You lied to me?
And what are you a sheep?
That's it! Dishonor, dishonor on your whole family! Make a note of this; dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow!
Of course. I'm travel sized for your connivence. If I was my real size your cow here would die of fright." (Mushu, Mulan.)
I feel like everybody has that one Disney side character that they'd fight for and for a lot of people that character is Mushu from Mulan. He became easily one of Disney's most popular side characters. Throughout much of my childhood spent in front of the television the ridiculous tiny dragon was there for me making me laugh and feel better. He became a hug part of who I am andI feel like I owe a lot to my favorite goofball on Disney history.
Only one other Disney side character I know their dialogue and every line that they have. Only one other one I quote regularly with my dad as well. We're saving that comfort character for next month though, so be on the lookout for that! (I'll give you a hint that hint is August 11th.) But anyways back to Mushu. Mushu to me is about light and humor in every bad situation. He's about making light jokes and having fun with Mulan. He's also about being genuinely kind in my personal opinion and has one of my favorite vulnerable moments out of any Disney character. That moment of him talking with Mulan on the rock about what they messed up with doing in life became one of my most memorable Disney moments.
Only one other Disney character manages to be both funny and vulnerable. Mushu manages to both make me laugh and feel bad for what he goes through regularly with the ancestors that he works for. Even though he messes up and makes mistake that's why he's perfect for Mulan. Two very imperfect people who have both struggled to find their place in the world found each other and learned from each other that being perfect isn't feasibly possible. They'd rather be screwups together than be apart from each other (we don't count the sequel. We don't speak of that in this house.) The emotional core of Mushu is what carries his character and my love for him is mostly built upon that emotional core.
Even though he's vulnerable though that doesn't decrease the funny. I can't tell you how many times I've quoted him with one of my best friends or with my parents it's something that has stuck with me because right when I started getting into Mushu was when I started laughing at word jokes rather than people getting their head hit with a mallet (thank you for that Pinky~). The most common one has been with my dad "Did I hear someone ask for a miracle? Let me hear you say I? AHH! That's close enough." Mushu to me is days spent referencing his lines for every situation. It's learning lines that I found hilarious to make myself laugh on my bad days. He brought me peace and reprieve when I was being bullied and put down right after I moved during school.
I'm about to give my followers a controversial hot take. You guys ready for it? Eddie Murphy as Mushu >>>>>>>>>>> Eddie Murphy as Donkey in Shrek. I actually hate Shrek. I never found it funny and his voice always felt low key out of place there. But I love him for Mushu. I think that voice fits his personality. Mushu's personality has to be fast talking, snarky, sometimes a bit dry, loud and brash, but have that sensitivity to him that makes his relatability to Mulan seem plausible. Eddie Murphy is one of my favorite actors and comedians. I think that comedians lend themselves better to animation than your traditional Hollywood dramatic actor. They led themselves to bigger reactions which can make the character more dynamic than the others.
To me Mushu is about laughter in terms of growing up. It's turning on the movie when all everyone around me did that day was put me down and tell me that I was just some weirdo who wouldn't make it anywhere. I related to that feeling of worthlessness and not being happy with that person that you are. But he still finds peace with the fact that he isn't like everyone else around him. He learns that he'd rather be himself than what the ancestors want him to be. For years I've wanted to get a tattoo of Mushu on my arm that says "I'm travel sized for your connivence." I grew up loving his character and through that I was able to accept that I was different but still be able to be happy with that weirdness and that different sense of humor.

Inspired by the behind the scenes (Ant-Man and The Wasp) photos on Evangeline Lilly's Ig.
Tumblr media
It had been a few days since his release from house arrest and Scott Lang had never appreciated his freedom as much as before this, apart from the three years he had spent in prison. He had went over to his ex-wife's house the first thing in the morning and had spent an enormous amount of time with Cassie outside the confines of a closed space. Still, at the back of his mind, he couldn't stop thinking about Hope. He was sure that the Pym-Van Dyne family will be having a celebratory family reunion and he didn't want to intrude, therefore, he thought he should give her some space and time before contacting her.
He woke up bleary-eyed, partially exhausted after his long outings with his daughter, awoken up by the rays of sunlight that had streamed through the curtains. He flipped over and laid on his stomach, his mind wandering to Hope, once again. For the past two years, he had missed having her by his side, missed waking up next to her, missed her kisses, her soft touches, he had missed everything about her, and their recent reunion had reignited the old flame between them. He was certain her feelings were mutual too, judging by the way she had kissed him on the docks, even though he was nearly hypoxic, he was still able to appreciate her soft lips on his.
He inhaled deeply, determined to muster up the courage to ask her out. She and her family were still on the run, but things had toned down a little after his release from house arrest, and he figured out that they could meet discreetly. He was about to reach out for his handphone on the bedside table when it vibrated. To his surprise, it was a message from Hope. His eyes widened, and he sat up on his bed, his sleepiness disappearing instantly.
Hey Scott.
Hey. I was just thinking about you. Without hesitation, he pressed send, though he immediately regretted it, hoping it wouldn't scare her away.
On the other side, Hope was sitting at the dining table in her house, staring at her phone screen, smiling at his reply.
Really? To be honest, she couldn't keep him off her mind too, and for the past few days, she had been struggling with dealing about her feelings for him. Seeing him in person again, she realised her anger towards him had slowly dissipated, she couldn't stay angry around him for very long and was replaced by a sense of longing and affection instead.
I was just going to ask you out. He decided to try his luck.
Maybe we could meet up? She was straightforward.
They received the messages at the same time. He jumped on the bed, his smile expanding into a gleeful grin, while her smile deepened, her dark green eyes brightened. He waited for her reply with bated breath.
Sure. Where? She replied.
What about that favourite taco food truck of yours? I know they're still around there. He had brought her there for their first date as she had asked him to surprise her. Frankly, it was because he simply couldn't afford a fancy lunch back then but he also wanted to be unconventional, in his own way. Deep down, he knew she wouldn't mind because even though she was born wealthy and privileged, she wasn't materialistic and snobbish.
I seem to recall that they're actually your favourite Scott. How could she forget their first date where they had sat on a bench by the roadside eating tacos, while he was making her smile and laugh the whole time by being himself. It made her realised that one of the many things she loved about him was, him being able to stay true to himself. Even though he seemed like a goofball on the surface, she knew he was unpretentious, modest and intelligent. He didn't have to try too hard to impress her because she was already falling for his genuine self.
It became your favourite too. He could still remember the way he had made her laugh, and how he couldn't stop staring because he was mesmerised by her. At that time, she was starting to let loose after reconciling with father, and most importantly, she was letting her walls down because of him. She rarely laughed when he had met her and suddenly, it hit him at that time that all he ever wanted to do was to make her happy. They had returned to the taco truck several times after their first date.
Though still wearing a smile on her face, she rolled her eyes. I'll see you there then.
Deal.
And so there they were, at the taco food truck, waiting in line for tacos. They had greeted each other with a simple hello, and were now standing side by side in silence, shoulders lightly brushing against each other, their hands so close they could feel their little fingers grazing each other. It was the first time they were both truly alone together, as their previous encounter were amidst chaos and other people.
"How's Janet doing? She's adapting well?", he turned to a look at her, smiling a little, breaking the silence.
"Mom's fine. She's amazed at how far technology has come and dad's been updating her about the progress and advancements of his research and our suits. We're just spending time together as a family. Everything's great.", she explained enthusiastically, her eyes sparkled with excitement. They were making up for lost time and she was glad to have both of her parents by her side once again.
"That's great! I'm glad that things worked out well in the end.", he gazed softly at her. He felt contented knowing she was happy.
"I'm glad too.", she beamed.
"Your orders please?", they were interrupted by the vendor.
"Right. One crunchy taco supreme for the lady please and one soft taco supreme with double cheese for me. Take away. That right?", he grinned and winked at Hope.
Her mouth curved into a small grin, touched. "You remember."
"Of course I do.", he would never forget her favourite things.
"Here you go!", the vendor handed over a paper bag to Hope.
"Let me get it.", she was about to pay but was stopped by Scott.
"Hey, no, it's on me, I insist.", he refused.
They turned away from the taco truck and walked down a flight of stairs. "You know, I never got to say thank you, for helping us...", she glanced appreciatively at him. Without him, they probably wouldn't have been able to save her mother from the Quantum Realm.
"It's no big deal, it's the least I could do, after my screw up...", he paused and cleared his throat, he gave her a sideway glance, hoping to catch her reaction.
She just looked at him, slightly tight-lipped, expression masked. Occasionally, when they were together, it was hard to gauge her response or feelings but as he got to know her better, he was familiar with her facial expressions and body language. She was contemplating his statement. "Whatever happened, happened Scott. It's in the past now and you paid the price."
"I wouldn't have done it if the price included losing you.", he blurted out impulsively, but honest.
"You didn't lose me. I wouldn't be here if you did.", she stated plainly as she looked at him affectionately, a thin, shy smile blossoming on her face. To be honest, it didn't help that for the past two years of his house arrest, she had been secretly keeping tabs on him, which had only made her miss him more.
He was slightly taken aback by her reply, he didn't know what to say, so he just gazed at her endearingly. "I'm famished. Shall we eat?", he clapped his hands together, and walked towards a bench, while motioning for her to come over.
"You sound like you haven't eaten for days.", she laughed and sat next to him.
"I had a lot of ice-cream.", he half-joked, which was partially true. He took the paper bag from her and unwrapped her taco, taking a bite before handing it to her.
"Hey! That's mine!", she glared at him and smacked his shoulder.
He flashed a goofy smile. "Sorry. Habit.", he quipped with his mouth full.
"Some things never change.", she smirked.
They ate their tacos in silence, soaking in the warm sun, and enjoying each other's company. It had been a while since they were so carefree. It reminded them of old times. Occasionally, he stole glances at her, looking at her side profile, hoping she wouldn't notice. "You've got a little bit of mayo there...", he stared at her and pointed at her upper lip.
"What?", she turned to him.
"Hold still." His gaze fell on her lips, and he lightly bit his lip, resisting the urge to kiss her there and then. Still, without a thought, he leaned forwards, reached his hand out and gently wiped the smudge off with his thumb. "There, all gone.", he smiled warmly.
She looked at him, and her eyes shone with fondness. He was always so gentle with her. "Thanks.", she mumbled.
They stared at each other tenderly for a few seconds, tension rising. For some reason, they still gave each other butterflies.
He swallowed a lump in his throat. "Maybe we could hang out again, some time, maybe with Cassie?", he asked carefully. "She misses you." I miss you, he wanted to say.
"I would love to.", she replied without hesitation.
"Great!"
She cleared up the empty wrappers and placed them in the paper bag. "I'll better get going. Thanks for the lunch Scott.", she smiled softly and stood up.
"Hey Hope...", he lightly grabbed her hand, as he stood up abruptly and pulled her towards him. She turned around, slightly surprised by his touch. They were facing each other now, both of their faces only inches away that they could feel each other's breath. Their eyes meet, his stare intense, and quickly, she looked away and gazed downwards. He tilted forwards, and closed the distance between them, the tips of their noses slightly touching. He took it as a good sign when she didn't move backwards. Feeling braver, he cupped her cheek, and gently caressed it with his thumb. She bit her lip, hesitant, while he dipped his head, their lips almost touching. He couldn't withstand the desire to kiss her, and so he did, as he softly pressed his lips against hers. She reciprocated immediately, her lips parted slightly as their kiss deepened, and she melted into his body, her hands running up his hair, as his other hand slid around her waist, his grip on her tightened. They pulled apart after a moment, both taking in shaky, shallow breaths.
"Let me take you home?", he grinned widely and stroked her hair.
"Sure.", she nodded, still feeling exhilarated from the kiss.
And so, he took her hand in his, and together they walked towards her car.

Today, I was wondering if he still thinks of me. I wonder if he dreams of me as I dream of him. If he has the desperation to message me, like I do him.... Then I remember.... He does think of me. I made him the email for the new account @trashyboiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii .. and I asked him... Don't post anything NSFW. That way you won't lose the account. You can like all the NSFW content you want but don't share anything... That way you can be here with me forever.... And I looked at his account today. And hes still keeping his promise... He's doing it for me ... He's still thinking of me. He knows we can't talk... But though we are forced to be apart... Hes making sure I can still see him from afar.... That's why I love him so much.... Even though we're saying goodbye.... He hasn't abandoned me. It makes me giggle like a child.... It warms my heart and makes me smile. He's such a little goofball.... But I'm so happy he's that way.
