It seems like such a paradox to me that human beings are both great adapters to change and terrified by it at the same time. So often we drift through life bound by the poor decisions we've made in the past, too afraid of the uncertainty that comes with challenging our status quo. We find ourselves stuck on a ship that is headed full speed to a place we're pretty sure we don't want to go, but we also don't want to deal with the discomfort of jumping. So we say nothing, watching helplessly as we sail toward our doom like silent prisoners of our own past.

After a month of procrastinating, I’m finally reading we were dreamers and trying not to cry in the middle of Starbucks 😭

Simu Liu’s autobio is absolutely breaking my heart. Both because it’s hard to hear of children going through these experiences but also because of how relatable it is. We really did deserve better. 

(Getting the audiobook was the best decision I have made. Although I’m definitely crying more hearing Simu cry as well).

You guys need to do yourselves a favour and go and buy Simu’s We Were Dreamers book (if you haven’t already!), because hearing him at the book launch was absolutely incredible 🥺

Another celebrity autobiography I listened to on audiobook, again read by the author. I’ve discovered it’s really enjoyable to listen to this sort of thing while I fold laundry, change sheets, and do other such tasks. Canada is proud of Simu Liu, and I felt proud of his accomplishments while I listened to him tell his story. Nice read/listen.
