Hearing people say "if you like OFMD you should watch black sails!" or "if you like wwdits you should watch Interview With The Vampire!"
It's like babes those shows are nothing alike besides they have the same subject matter and are both gay! "Oh you like comedy with a dash of drama? You should watch a harrowing, traumatic show that will have you sobbing your eyes out!!!!"

My kids once asked me: So mom, are the Crows really thieves?
Me: Yes, they are.
Kids: But they are good ones, aren't they?
Me (wondering hard if my kids are old enough to understand what is a morally grey character): Yep, they are good.

Thoughts on/during Mochi Mayhem? I'm curious. Especially towards the... memetic dance scene(s).
I LOVED IT!!!!
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet really put me in the "I wanna be a kid doing stupid dumb goofy things with my friends" vibes and Mochi Mayhem really delivered! everyone coming over to the player's house and hanging out at the start and the whole finding the remote mini quest at the community center really got to me. We're just a couple of kids doing kid things!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also the fact that Arven says Clicker like an old man means so much to me. We really are siblings.
SPEAKING OF ARVEN
He knocked it out of the PARK during Mochi Mayhem being just??? So funny??? Like, he's so pushy about being the player's one and only Best Friend
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he's so agro at Kieran over it to the point of ending the epilogue apologizing for it... But Kieran didn't even notice because he's so use to his sister being agro at him like that???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also the fact that he has just enough control while mind controlled by Pecharunt to be embarrassed by the stupid dance dskgjdfjgjdfh Hysterical
Tumblr media
There's a lot of other really silly moments that got to me very personally, like how much everyone calls out Nemona for being entirely too much, or just the implication that the three of them were hanging out without me, implying they've all become friends as well really gets to me
Tumblr media
I don't like the paid DLC direction Nintendo is going in, but this is the best Pokemon Game post DS Era in my opinion, even if with the DLC it's more than double the price of a DS era Pokemon game with about the same amount of content...
But yeah! I really liked the Epilogue! I had a great time, I loved seeing everyone getting to have a fun time and being silly, I ADORE Pecharunt to no end, and am super happy to have Kieran back in the club room finally!

jelix gets so much hate and people act like it's truly problematic. It's so funny to me. you can hate its fans and not have to justify it with acting as if the ship itself is somehow offensive.
sorry y'all can't see the beauty in 70s repressed homosexual adultery and the consequences of it being tragedy. i forgot the kids these days haven't even seen brokeback mountain.

I love how the remake made Luis more complex as a character. Luis seems to be well aware of what he was doing, but chose to ignore it until he couldn't anymore. He left Umbrella due to morality differences, but ended up working with Los Illuminados (though he knew the cult isn't any different from Umbrella). It really makes you wonder if Luis was doing all of this out of greed. And for that, he probably wanted to redeem himself by helping Leon and Ashley. However, Luis knows that helping them won't make up for all the things he has done.
Which is why him asking Leon "People can change, right?" makes so much sense. Can someone who knowingly did bad things change? Does helping Leon and Ashley redeem Luis' actions? Who knows and that's why I love him sO DAMN MUCH.

yknow its probably a good thing that the themes of control and the fact that frisk doesnt equal the player etc werent like the Main thing with undertale because the fandom so horribly interpreted everything about it early on that it served as a great display of what toby needed to do to Not Mess It Up in deltarune where its basically the whole point

Whatever you say about the X-men movies I will always respect James Mcavoy's acting choices as professor X
(look, Sir Patrick Stewart will always be iconic and James clearly had big shoes to fill) I just love how he took one look at this wise, powerful and well loved character and said fuck it I’m playing him young so I’m going to do what I want, and he was so right for that
case in point
In First Class Charles was a drunk, egoistic, nerdy and obnoxious yet charming trust fund kid who was not above cheap telepathy tricks to get a date
In DOFP he was a drug addict and a complete asshole, who only gave a shit about where he could get his next hit
In apocalypse I think he just went fuck this, I’m just going to be that hot, DILF English lit teacher who all the nerds and gays imprint and crush on
In dark phoenix (yeah me neither) he was literally said "Charles is a rich, manipulative, power hungry bastard who masquerades as a kind soul"
He also made Charles at least 75% gayer (if that's even possible)

"do we still love each other?" regulus asked, a bitter irony in the question, and he was pretty sure he knew the answer. they were sitting in the common room and dorcas was glaring at him, glaring at the skulled serpent on his arm, glaring at the boy she had grown to resent.
he remembered the person used to be, and how dorcas had comforted him during nights when neither of them could sleep. he remembered how she shared her cigarettes with him, and he remembered how he was drowning and she pulled him out, giving him her lungs so he could breathe.
he remembered the night in which they laid in his dorm and she told him all her secrets. she told him what she was planning to do after she graduated. she didn't want to fight but she would, she would fight if that meant that the generation after them would be safe, if that meant that they would have a better future, if that meant they would get to live, instead of just having to get through their mundane existence.
she had confided in him, and he was a traitor. the betrayal was etched in his arm, aching, black and of a deadly. regulus' future. did he want it? he didn't know; he wanted the glory, he wanted to be important, to be worthy of his name, but did he want to lose everything in order to achieve that.
"no," dorcas said, and there was a certain anger in her voice that the regulus had never seen before. "i stopped loving you the second i realized that you would never be a good person."

Something interesting Ive noticed, is that a lot if what craig/neil/ususlly og game voice actors, say things about the show and characters that they didnt actually put on screen.
Like saying ellie has a violent heart when she has cried everytime shes involved in violence and after stabbing David literally screamed and cries in terror when joel gently grabs her. Or that Joel who is not a cannibal and not a pedophile is like david when the actual episode goes out of its way to make sure you know that their actions and intentions make them complete opposites.
Like it honestly feels like they know that these are opinions that formed from making tlou2. But beacuse none of those are in the show they have to say it in the extra content and explain it. Like so much of what theyve talked about isnt rhe same characters on screen.
Like they want to push tlou 2 narrative but know general audiences will not be receptive to those ideas. So they stretch the truth in off show content to justify their opinions.
Its so dumb. The show they made does not match the narrative they wanted to push and I only wonder how much behind the scenes talks went on that may have scrapped them actually doing those things.
Like Bruce for the og game is a big reason Neil dropped a ton of dumb plots and I wonder how much of that happened with other persons including cast members played a similar role. But they know only dedicated typically game fans will watch their off show content so thats where they plug their rejected interpretations and can pretend its canon.
Pedros out there very diplomatically discussing the show, talking about how he wanted to show a softer side of joel that archtypes like him dont usually get so you see more of his love and humanity. And then you got those bozos on their whatever podcast going "yeah joel and the rapist are parallels basically (henry was joels parallel you bongos)"
no literally. literally!!!!!

something about the same actor playing bolkonsky AND andrey. it makes the audience question how much of andrey’s cruelty is inherited from his father, and how much of it is a result from the war.
both are mentioned in the only song andrey physically appears in: ‘there’s a war going on’ andrey says, a callback to the prologue. in that song, the characters sing ‘the war can’t touch us here’ — an ironic statement, now. and pierre says that andrey ‘smiled just like his father / coldly, maliciously.’
andrey is malicious, and wary, and exhausted. there’s a war going on. his cruelty is echoed in the way the son is playing his father. his father is playing his son. words and notes are sung with similar cadence and emphasis. how justified is andrey? how much did the war change him, or how much can the war excuse his maliciousness? andrey does not break the cycle of his father’s cruelty, but how much of it is his fault? there’s a war going on, after all.

mixing my two favorite fandoms up but enobaria is a regulus black variant and NO ONE can change my mind.
stuck in a house/district that they grew up believing was basically the word of god? check. refusing to betray their family(/district) even though they don’t necessarily believe in it anymore? check. afraid to leave their beliefs behind? check. wanting something more for themselves but not wanting to risk what they have to get it? check. conditioned by the people that raised them to hate certain types of people (muggles/rebels)? check. mean because they were taught emotion was weakness? CHECK! brutally honest? CHECK! ends up rebelling against their own family/beliefs because people they loved were hurt? CHECK!!!!!
they are MY babygirls and no one can take them from me !!!!!

🌟Dragon of Darkness🌟 Ryviel, an artificially created Deva has the power to control the powers of primal darkness and induce Fear in the heart of people. He is a good guy, by the way. No one cares tho, because they are afraid of him.

Hello, I love your fics and I've noticed that a lot of your stories despite being reader fics are very character driven. Not just for the og characters but for the OC themselves.
It's done so well that I wanted to ask if you have any steps for writing such enticing character driven stories or does it just come naturally?
It comes naturally, and stems from the fact that, at my core, I'm an absolute character-driven story writer and reader.
I can put up with okay writing and a mediocre plot, but you have to have good characters for me. It's a deal breaker. I always joke that my favourite thing to do when I write is simply have two characters sit and talk - that's it. If the characters are interesting and compelling, it doesn't matter if they're not doing anything "exciting" it will still be engaging to read about.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that plot, prose, and world-building are not just as important - they are! - but for me, characters are key. And that's because, for me, at least, stories are for people by people. Therefore, characters will always be the thing people remember. Think about your favourite stories for a moment - no matter what the medium is - what comes to mind first? I would bet 9/10 times it's the characters. If I say Star Wars, chances are that even if you've never seen a scrap of those films/shows etc, you still know Darth Vader. You know Luke Skywalker. You know Batman. You know the Joker. That's because we identify with people, aka the characters. They're the reason we love storytelling. The best stories in the world are so popular because they have characters that outlive or/and outshine their own canon.
I guess for that reason, it's always funny to me when I see people get snobby about people's OCs, especially canon/OC ships. And even more so, x reader fics. As if they're somehow "lesser". But take a second to remember something important: every single character you love is someone else's OC that's been given a wider audience. That's all.
