#repost @keithmaddyart Keith Maddy (Boston, Massachusetts, USA, 1964-). "146 cats, 4 mice, 4 fish, and 1 bird", details and broader view. Collage created for the the Complex Muses exhibit at @artcomplexmuseum Art Complex Museum (Duxbury, Massachusetts, USA), May 18-September 4, 2022, in which several collage artists were invited to respond to works in the museum's collection. Maddy chose Cats at the Window (wood engraving, 1929, printed 1930) by Wanda Gag (USA, 1893-1946). Inspired by Gag's delicacy of line and attention to detail (and love of cats), Maddy sourced images of cats from our popular consciousness and meticulously traced the interior and exterior of figures from vintage children's books and placed them on a base of vintage wallpaper. Maddy is associated with @howardyezerskigallery-blog-blog @howardyezerskigallery and @fenwaystudios.

Countdown to Coven of Chaos: Day 360
Y/N: *reading a book aloud to Wanda*
Wanda: *curled up and asleep in their arms*
Agatha: “This is so cute, my cold dead heart almost can’t handle it”
Y/N: “Yeah, I only got through the first two pages before she passed out”
Agatha: “What are you reading?”
Y/N: “Frankenstein, Wanda said the premise makes her feel at home…”
