JRPG, CRPG, WRPG... these aren't very useful subgenres, and geologically recent arguments have heated up the debate around them even more. So I propose throwing them out and replacing them with these 26 new, flawless categories:

ARPG - Action RPG: Do you perfom actions? Or are you stuck watching the title sequence over and over because the main menu doesn't work? BRPG - Bethesdic RPG: Can you pick up every wheel of cheese in the game and put it into a single room? Does the game needing to keep track of that eventually ruin saves? Then the game's a BRPG. CRPG - Computer RPG/Console RPG: Everyone will know exactly what you mean when you use this acronym. If need be, refer to games like Ultima IV or Final Fantasy VII, games that exclusively exist on either a personal computer or a console. DRPG - Dungeon RPG: Do you go into the prison cells underneath a castle? If you don't, are you really an RPG of any type, much less a DRPG? ERPG - Erotic RPG: A game where you find love. Did you talk to someone on an internet forum about Final Fantasy IV and get into a relationship through that? That goes here. FRPG - French RPG: Wakfu exists. I'm sure there's others. GRPG - Good RPG: They all go in here :) HRPG - Homeric RPG: Is the plot of the RPG directly ripping off 1) The Iliad 2) The Odyssey 3) A Simpsons episode? IRPG - Idle RPG: Okay, honest question. How much do you idle in these games anyway? Certainly you're setting up equipment and parties that'll auto-grind for you, right? The entire subgenre isn't just Progress Quest, right? JRPG - Judeo-Christian RPG: This category is exclusively for the 2008 game The You Testament. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules. KRPG - Kinetic RPG: You know Kinetic Novels, ie a VN that doesn't have any choices at all? Throw any RPG you want to disparge for not giving you choices in here. Alternatively, this is for any RPG that has Kinect support. LRPG - Luddite RPG: Was it released on a console 20 years after that console ceased getting games? Does it look and act like it should have been released 20 years ago? MRPG - Monster-catching RPG: Any game where you catch monsters and have them battle for you. Notably, Shin Megami Tensei is excluded; you talk, bribe, and cajole demons into working for you, which is totally different. NRPG - Natalist RPG: Does the word 'breeding' come up at any point in the game description? ORPG - Orre-game-esque RPG: Like Pokemon Colosseum or Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness, is this game a spinoff of a larger RPG series that changes a major mechanic and has a small but vocal fanbase? PRPG - Panzer Dragoon Saga-like RPG: games that make SHMUP gameplay more approachable by combining them with an RPG. Other games that fit into this category are Undertale and Sigma Star Saga. QRPG - Questionnaire-having RPG: Does the game, at some point, ask you a series of questions in order to determine something? In that case, all other categories are overwritten by this one. RRPG - 'Real' RPG: You know, in your heart of hearts, what belongs here, and everyone else is wrong. SRPG - Strategic RPG: A game in which short-term tactical gameplay decisions [strategy] are the main focus. TRPG - Tactics RPG: A game in which long-term, strategic gameplay decisions [tactics] are the main focus. URPG - Ultraviolent RPG: Can you kill a guy and have a fountain of blood erupt from them? VRPG - VIPRPG: A category reserved for any game made by someone who frequents 2ch's VIP board, or features that :3 cat person that originated there. WRPG - Weeaboo RPG: Was it made by someone outside of Asia but still have anime stylings? XRPG - eXploratory RPG: A generous term for an RPG that throws you out into the world with little direction and expects you to figure out where the game is. YRPG - Yslike RPG: Does it have bump combat? Then there you go! ZRPG - Zero-loving RPG: Are the damage numbers padded to make them look more impressive? Alternatively, does Zero from Mega Man X show up?

I'm The Blue Thude and I want to contribute to my various fandoms in some way. That's why I'm happy to say I'm open to requests, in French or in English !

- First and before anything. Respect is a primordial rule of mine. Respect me and I’ll respect you, it’s a two way street.

- Do not spam. While it's okay to ask where I am on your request or question if the ask wasn't drowned with the other asks, do not spam. Any spam will result in a cancellation of your ask.

- Do not ask anything discriminatory toward any community. Those requests will be ignored or deleted without a question.

- I won't write NSFW content. I don't want to trigger myself nor those who'll read.

- I won't write anything related or about toxic relationships/characters (it can be lightly mentioned but for yandere!characters, I will kindly ask you to go to someone else).

- I won't write anything romantic with kids too young (in case of love between two kids/teens) or a kid with an adult (the age ref is 18 years old)

- While I like angst, I have troubles writing it so please, do not ask for something too angsty as I want to enjoy my time here and not add more stuff to be depressed about

- To not overwhelm me, I'll take a maximum of 20 writing requests, as for random questions, there's no limit, but try to not ask too much. My inbox will be always open, but not the writing requests.

- Do not degrade my work in any way, shape or form. Even if you don’t like what I’m writing, just calmly and politely say what you dislike about it and maybe it’ll be a fun and constructive conversation to have ! But of course, if you don’t like my work, don’t read it.

- Be patient with me, as English is my third language and I often make mistakes with orthograph or grammar when writing. If so, just tell me, I’ll correct it and do better next time !

Pitch Me your thing!

HELLO HELLO MY SUNBEAMS. For most every category, there was an impressive turn-out for pitches, so I thought we’d utilize the weirdness of this year’s GIFTENING to give something new a try. The popular vote winner for each category will happen on the first day, but on the second, the winner will be chosen from YOUR PITCHES. Mostly those pitches will be to me. The exception is in Miscellaneous, where you’ll be pitching to my family, because what I want to do and what is most entertaining isn’t necessarily the same thing.

So! How will we do this thing? GLAD YOU ASKED. I’ll link you to a form in a minute with space for one pitch. Once you fill it out, you’ll be asked if you want to do another. There’s no limit to the number of pitches you can send in! But remember that if you submit multiple entries for the same category, you’ll basically be competing against yourself.

NOW WE’VE GOT SOME RULES FOR DOING THIS (which I mostly stole from Holligay, because I have no creativity this year). Please read them carefully! I’ll toss pitches that break any of these, and I’d rather your hard work not go to waste.

Pitch Me is open for your submissions from RIGHT NOW (22 December) through the very last day of this hellyear (31 December) at 11:59pm MT.

The thing you pitch must have come from what was nominated for THE GIFTENING 2020. (Full list of those nominations in every category below the cut on this post.)

Entries must be unsigned! I’m looking to chose based on the pitch alone, regardless of who submitted it.

The pitch itself must be 100 words or less. HAVE PITY ON ME I CAN ONLY CONSUME SO MUCH.

Background: A human turned into kitsune turned cult leader turned pop star. Yeah she’s from a trigger property alright. Due to a medical mishap. Nazuka and her friend Michiru were turned into beastmen. Her dream had always been to become a pop star, and inspire people. So after briefly becoming a cult’s god personified. She kind of let it go to her head. The cult was dismantled later due to circumstances not her fault. She was reunited with her friend michiru and became a more regular pop star.

She is aggressively smug and still trying to overcome some personal issues.

Can shapeshift into a kitsune at will.

MIRACULOUS VOICE ACTING

First of all, this took me 3 hours to pull together, and second of all you’re welcome.

This is a masterlist of all major roles (besides Miraculous Ladybug) the voice actors of our favourite characters play.

Before I begin, a few notes:

I got most of them, but in case I missed any, feel free to reblog with your own additions to this list and/or check out the IMDb page.

Before I get into the individual roles of the Miraculous VAs, I made a list of many other shows/franchises in which they act together. It’s a surprisingly long list, so the VAs of our favourite characters (Marinette, Adrien, Alya, etc.) must know each other quite well, which explains their excellent chemistry.

If you want (read: need) some quality LadyNoir flirting, watch the final episodes of Sword Art Online English Dub (the scenes between Kirito and Alicia Rue). If you close your eyes and just listen, it’s basically the LadyNoir flirting we all deserve. You’re welcome.

If you’ve always wanted to beat the crap out of Hawk Moth, well, you’re in luck! You can! (Kind of). His VA plays a few video game characters who are killable, most noteably Emperor Titus Mede II and Nazeem from Skyrim. The Emperor is assassinated by the player (you!) at the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline, and Nazeem can be legally killed during the Siege of Whitrerun during the Civil War (Stormcloaks) questline. Again, you are welcome.

What I like about them: He’s really morally grey. I like it when protagonists aren’t obviously good people and have their own faults. His resilience to suffering and how passionate he is about the things he cares for are also good things about him.

What I dislike about them:

“YUNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!”

Christ, dude. Calm down.

I’m also a bit mad that he had no second thoughts about how shitty the reggies’ lives must have been and kept killing them off indiscriminately. I’m not saying it would have fit the plot for him to act any differently, but still...

Favourite moment: Maybe this is a bit of a morbid choice but when he attached his friends’ limbs to himself. It was great to see he would push himself that far.

Least favourite moment: The fight against phantom Minatsuki. It’s still hard for me to watch. I know he needed to defeat him but my gut feelings can’t take it...

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: If he ever used his eye for anything we haven’t seen in the show, and also how he got to the point where his guilt was eating him up so much he had to erase his own memories. I have a thing for mind manip themes.

An interesting AU for this character: At one point Bananas45 on AO3 wrote a music school AU and I was particularly happy Koku was in it since he can play violin in canon.

A crossover: This really comes out of the blue but Dofus/Wakfu universe and he’d be an Eniripsa because his transformation sort of looks like that. Maybe Osamodas too because that’s even more similar, but I feel like Eni powers and personality would fit him better.

OTP: Haven’t left keithkoku hell and won’t anytime soon.

Other ships: Kokuyuna is, again, just a thing that exists, and it would be hard to explain what I think of it... I get the vague feeling that if it was overwhelmingly popular and people started bugging me that I should ship it I’d start disliking it, but that’s not something that can happen in a fandom this small, so right now it’s just more of a funny thing to me. They’re both kids who are maladapted to the world and probably a bit socially awkward so that’s entertaining. Koku/Izanami is just very tragic from being one-sided and the main reason I’d support it would be to make Izanami happy. Laica/Koku is just sin but I’m not gonna deny that it has appeal at this point. Nothing wrong with Minatsuki/Koku either but it would probably make Laica so dead inside I’m reluctant. Oh, also, I know Kirisame/Koku is gonna be a thing in s2 and I can totally get behind that, but it really depends on what they do with it.

BROTP: With Lily. Cute adoptive siblings.

NOTP: I’ve had horrific visions of what it would look like to romantically ship him with Lily. No and thank you.

An assortment of headcanons:

He likes being in pretty places, especially if they’re quiet and there’s nobody else there, both in nature, like woods and fields, or nice views of Cremona. Yet another reason he’d like going on trips a lot, during Spring or Summer in particular; it’s pleasantly alive and unlike what he remembers the weather being during the Jaula Blanca attack.

Expanding on this; he generally likes silence. And quiet people. He really doesn’t mind Lily talking a lot, but it gets too much sometimes.

He’s not completely in his right mind when he’s fully transformed, also because it usually happens when he’s really upset. It’s a bit like having zero control of your own actions, while they’re still yours, as in it’s what you would want to do, but it doesn’t feel like you’re the one doing it.

He hears his friends’ consciousness a lot inside. It can get outright MPD-ish.

He drinks coffee with a lot of milk and sugar and it makes Keith feel personally offended because it ‘desecrates it’.

Once the s1 plot is over, he starts getting really interested in all the research behind his creation and things they did at Jaula Blanca. He spends his free time looking into it, it’s like a journey of self-discovery.

Good afternoon!

I finally posted the art, after all this time. And it's art dedicated to my SUPER LONG WAKFU FANFIC. This work is in progress, and only prologue has been written so far, but I’m already happy with how it turned out ( and it's not small too, it has 4 chapters and 100 pages).

The plot of this work tells the story about one of the main characters of the team - Tristepin, in an alternative universe, after the events of season 3, where the main characters were transported home to their world of twelve, and not to the gods (the work was invented within 2 years before the announcement of the new season ). To avoid confusion, think of this as a spin-off about one of the main characters in the cast several years later after season 3. There are a lot of non-canon moments here, but don't worry too much about it. This fanfic is my personal, large project. I do it more for myself, as a hobby, but if you like it, then you’re welcome to stay!

"The story begins in one ordinary sunny day, when lop, a hero, a legend and just a charming man, Tristepin de Percedal, as a result of mysterious circumstances, finds himself in a strange world, that is so similar to his old one. In this world, the destinies of people are not commanded by the gods, since they abandoned this dimension a long time ago. And those who took their throne, to rule over the destinies of people turned out to be certain witches who possess magic beyond imagination. Who are those witches? What is this strange place? And why was lop called here? Tristepin will have to look for answers himself, in order to return home.

But everything, as always, is not as simple as it seems. And Tristepin will have to try very hard to regain control of his destiny."
