shiv was not being altruistic nor intellectually self-interested when she voted against kendall. that was pure raw visceral desperation to maintain some semblance of dignity that she felt kendall being ceo would shred her of. sometimes people do not act in other people’s best interests or their own best interests. sometimes people do the wrong thing for the wrong reasons just because it feels like the right, the only, thing to do. shiv could not let kendall be ceo. she just couldn’t. not because she wanted to sacrifice herself to “stop the cycle,” not because she made a calculation and decided tom was her best interest — because the thought of kendall being ceo and acting like That the rest of their lives when shiv earned that job, she fucking earned it, that was too much to fucking bear. watching him sit in dad’s chair, conduct that vote, grin with entitlement and cockiness and certainty — seeing that elicited a visceral painful all-consuming sensation not dissimilar to overwhelming nausea that, summed up in two words, would simply be: fuck. no. she couldn’t live with that. she just couldn’t. it’s not kind. it’s not smart. it’s just human. painfully, destructively human. because sometimes, that’s all there is to it. not just for shiv, but for everyone. god knows roman and kendall have had those same feelings, made those same self-destructing yet necessary-feeling decisions throughout the show. why does it have to be different for shiv? why can’t she be painfully destructively human, prone to impulsive ill-conceived viscerally felt actions, like everyone else? why are we incapable of allotting her the same nuance and humanity (the good and the bad), the same trauma-informed self-destructive life-ruining hamartias, as we do her brothers? why can’t we fit a whole woman in our heads?

I know most of our focus goes (rightfully) to the trial songs, but I genuinely believe Baptism of Fire is equally a masterpiece of meaningful writing and intense vocal acting

okay i know I preach about voting however you want because that's the point of milgram but I genuinely don't know how you can listen to kazui's voice drama and then vote him guilty

kazui is litteraly asking es to give him a reason to stop lying (cough cough an innocent vote)

an innocent vote is NOT going to make Kazui think what he did was right, nor that lying was a good call. He didn't think that in Trial 1, he hasn't shown any signs of thinking that in Trial 2 and that is not the thought process he will go down in Trial 3!!!

He's not asking for his lies to he forgiven, he's asking to be FREED from them. The guilt of what his lies caused now more then ever is waying so heavily down on him that he just wants to see a reason that tells him that telling the truth will be okay and that his 'sin' is not this horrible thing that he or others around him chalks itself to be

i am well aware that there is more than one person running for the democratic party in the presidential election but unless someone usurps biden in popularity (which i honestly kind of doubt will happen), people really need to understand that ultimately the election is going to result in one of three things:

1, democrats refuse to vote, therefore donald trump or another most likely equally as bad person will win

2, democrats split the vote between other canidates in the democratic party which results in none of the dem candidates getting enough votes to beat a Republican and the same outcome as 1 happens

or 3, democrats work together to vote for the most popular canidate (who i think will most likely be biden) and a democrat is elected

and im gonna be honest, if 1 happens im gonna start biting people. yall NEED to vote, voting is LITERALLY the most basic most liberal ass thing you can do as a leftist right now, and if you are refusing to vote right now im like actually mad at you, its really not that hard yet some people STILL dont wanna do as if NOT VOTING WASNT PART OF WHY TRUMP WAS ORIGINALLY ELECTED. JUST VOTE.

I think the reason voting discourse bothers me so much is that, as a Puerto Rican, seeing people argue about disregarding such an important right that I don't have, in a situation where their action or inaction will definitely affect me makes me feel helpless and angry.

Your vote is not just moral signaling, it's your right to control what happens to you and what happens to people like me who can't vote.

The former prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, was shot. It looks very serious.  Abe has always been very friendly towards Taiwan. The two countries are friendly allies. I hope everything will be alright.

Consider current world news, I hope people who aren’t familiar with Asia international politics can resist any improper jokes or making this whole situation all about the English-speaking world again (I don’t want to make any example, but, you know those kinds... everyday i think of the way the american south is treated and everyday i get more fuckin mad about it

my way of life has been romanticized and watered down into an aesthetic for the internet yet if a majority of you were to ever meet me or somebody like me in real life you'd hate us because we don't fit into that cute little cubby you've made for us. it makes me laugh thinking about the way most of you would react if you ever saw a coal miner fresh off work and on their way home.

and it's not a big deal really but it's a big deal to me because a lot of you call yourselves progressives but you're actually everything you accuse people from the south of being :)
