Ain't No River Wide Enough (To Keep Me From Getting To You, Babe) by negativefouriq (2/2 | 4,032 | Mature)
Lance finishes rubbing the lotion into his legs and sets it back on the bedside table, leaning over the laptop screen to grab his hairbrush. He mutters a near-silent “Shit, sorry,” as he accidentally bumps the screen with his chest, catching the edge of his robe on the corner of the screen and loosening it. He adjusts the screen again, carefully grabbing his brush and moving back away so as not to hit it again. When he settles back onto the bed, he catches Keith’s eyes looking hastily back to his face, again. He shakes his head fondly as he untwists his towel from his hair and starts to brush through the damp curls. Poor Keith. Must be hard for him to do anything…fun, ahem, in shared barracks. Rip to him, honestly, because Lance does not have that problem. Say what you will about the castle, but at least he has his own room and a lock on his door. “You’re distracted today,” Lance comments, smirking slightly. He lets his robe slip down his shoulder, watching Keith’s eyes follow the movement. “Am not,” Keith protests. --- OR: Keith and Lance video chat. They both drive each other a little batty.
White light in your arms tonight by mustardlord (1/1 | 4,056 | Teen and Up)
Lance had been in the pod for one movement, and if the team noticed Keith spent his days next to Lance, they didn't mention it. He would stay on his side, often skipping meals and forgetting to take care of himself. He sometimes went to the training grounds when it was all too much. Keith set the training bots to a high difficulty and got his ass handed to him, but at least he didn't worry about anything other than fighting. or After a month secretly together, Lance suffers an accident and Keith doesn't know what to do with himself.
//violence //temporary character death
you're a dream to me by icedpink (1/1 | 6,107 | Teen and Up)
"Did you know you snore?" Keith asks, still laughing. The team finds out about Keith and Lance's relationship due to snoring, of all things.

Walk into Love
Lance hated the term "falling in love".
It was a sad term. Falling was never a fun thing. It left you panicked and disoriented and desperately trying to right yourself.
To fall in love implies that you'll eventually catch yourself, scrape your knee, or maybe never stop falling. That third option doesn't sound so bad, does it? The feeling in your stomach must be similar, after all. But, realistically, there's no such thing.
Lance realized early on the beginnings of a crush on Keith. Sometime after the first time Shiro died, making Keith the black paladin, did he notice it. Just little things. Love doesn't have to be all consuming nor dominating. The person you're crushing on, that you like or possibly even love, doesn't have to be someone you replace everyone around you with. People tend to try and do that. Substitute a hundred different people in your life with someone you deem to have "fallen" in love with.
It tears you apart. It's not possible to do that.To love someone with all your heart, to prioritize or make them your everything. That's what mamá did. Love papa with everything in her heart, and when he left, he left with her heart. It broke her in more ways than could be fixed.
When you love someone, they shouldn't have your whole heart. Rather, a piece of it. You should know, be able to trust each other, that even if it wasn't your whole heart, they should treat it tenderly.
So when Lance realized the budding feeling in his gut, he followed it out of curiosity. It did not infringe on the time he spent with friends. It didn't affect his emotions negatively, and it didn't ruin his life.
The more he began to know Keith, really know him, the more he allowed himself to "fall". (Although, he wouldn't quite call it that.)
Lance saw Keith's ugliest moments. He saw his faults and his mistakes. Lance saw these and continued forward. He walked into love.
Lance witnessed all Keith had to offer and took it in stride.
But because Lance didn't exist alone, nor did he wish to, he did not verbalize these now blooming feelings. It would be selfish to do so, (not because it would make Keith uncomfortable or anything, Lance saw the blushing and the staring and the fidgeting,) but because of the timing. There was already so much on Keith's plate, what with Shiro and all, Lance kept his feelings unsaid.
He did not stop his actions, however. He did not make an effort to hide his affection, but he restrained from saying the words that'd likely throw Keith through quite the loop.
But Lance, although typically impatient, was more than willing to wait for someone if it was Keith.
Lance knew what he walked into.

hey folks!!! another soulreapin fic 😁
summary: “Guess who got his fucking driver’s license?”
Keith looks up from A Tale of Two Cities for the first time in twenty minutes to the front door of his and Lance’s shared apartment slamming onto the wall behind it. In Lance’s right hand is a triumphantly held piece of white plastic with shapes and colors on it. Dangling off of his pinkie finger are the keys to his shitty blue Subaru Outback. Lance has shed the blue flannel he left the house in, leaving him in jean shorts covered in embroidered sharks that hit his knees and a loose white tank top.
“You…did?” He says warily, folding the corner of his page down and closing the book, flexing his fingers to erase the ache in them from holding the book open for so long.
“I did!” Lance cheers, closing the front door and walking over to the couch where Keith is stretched out from armrest to armrest. “Can you believe how long the lines at the DMV are? I was the fucking red paladin.”
or, lance gets his driver’s license a year post-canon. keith…does not have one. for good reason.
tumblr runs on reblogs and so do i so if you had a good time with this….pretty please 🙏🙏

“Let’s do it again,” Keith says breathlessly. “Here and on every planet we come across. Let’s get married on every planet we can.”
“Are you joking?” Lance asks, incredulous. “You really want to get married to me on every planet we land on?”
“Yes,” Keith says, voice high pitched and shaky with residual adrenaline. “Yes. Every planet. If it feels like this every time, let’s get married ten, twenty, a hundred times.”
“Let’s break records. I want the universe to see us and be jealous.”

“How does this keep happening to us, every time.” Lance grumbled.
“You’d think they’d stop sending us on away missions,” he agreed.
Honestly, between the poisonous plants of their last planet, and Lance’s tendency to always end up on the business end of every blaster or pointy ended stick, Allura was just being inefficient at this point.
Or, five times Keith kissed Lance but the situation was less than ideal, and one time Lance finally kissed him back.

“Why did the blue lion choose you?”
Lance’s eyebrows rose to his hairline. He was an expressive boy. He wiped the shock away quickly though, smiling easily as he took a small sip from the drink he held.
“Dunno. We had a connection, I felt it the second I stepped into that cave. You know, the one Keith-“

"Are we there yet?"
Hunk uses his shotgun position to pelt him with tiny rocks he collected beforehand, the pebbles aimed straight for Lance's eyes. And mouth. "Oh my God, no, we are not there yet!"
The teen in question smirked mischievously, attempting to duck away from Hunk's attacks (unsuccessfully). He cowered behind Pidge, who was currently enraptured by a video game (which, if he may add, hasn't even come out yet. They probably got it off the black market.) and didn't appreciate the sudden jostling. They shoved Lance back in his seat, earning a wet sock to the face and a press of the power off button on their computer. The sock in turn was flung back at Lance, and The Great Car War V had started. Keith lifted his head off of his fist and shouted up to the driver. "Oi. Can't I drive?"
Shiro shook his head and snickered. "No chance. Last time you drove you got pulled over twice and nearly committed a hit-and-run. I think that says enough. Besides, you took all the M&M's out of the trail mix again when I specifically told you not to."
"I said I was sorry!" He wasn't. And besides, isn't it general code to do something someone else explicitly told you not to?
"Suck it, Keith. I'm just a more experienced driver."
"Oh, so now you wanna admit you're old."
"Okay-"
"Isn't he the youngest? He's like, six," Pidge chirped from the floor of the car. Lance had his foot on top of them and was spamming their blank screen with random keyboard smashes as Hunk started throwing larger rocks. "Leggo of that!"
Shiro, regretfully, took a look in the rear view mirror. "Pidge, put on your fucking seatbelt or so help me God-"
Hunk snickered. "Oooh, you're in trouble, Pidgeon."
"You wanna switch spots with Keith?"
"..." Hunk sighed and slumped back in his chair after throwing one last rock at Pidge (he'd love to keep going, but being in the front means he can harm and not be harmed. That's not something to give up.)
"Ow! Shiro, make Pidge stop biting me!"
It was gonna be a long ride.
Two hours later, Pidge was sleeping and Lance was…well, not looking at Keith. Who, in question, was looking out the window. Lance prided himself on being in the middle; he was just out of reach of the sun's grasp while Keith was its indifferent victim. It was the perfect place to take a nap without waking up to a burning smell that you'd quickly realize was you.
Or maybe not indifferent. Lance didn't watch as Keith bent down to rummage through his duffel bag to pull out a small hairband. He definitely didn't watch as Keith tied up his hair, and absolutely didn't notice how…y'know what, maybe Lance should stop thinking about it and focus on his chess game. He was losing to AI, by the way. Completely Keith's fault.
He also didn't gawk at Keith's exposed neck, and didn't take note of how he looked so much more…uh, OLD. Yeah, not mature or handsome or anything. Just plain old. The thin sheen of sweat on Keith's forehead that should've been gross was still gross. It didn't make Keith look like a shining angel or whatever.
Later, Lance would tease him for it. For now…a nap would suffice. He shifted so that his back was to Keith and started to doze off. Hunk was the one driving now, and he took a sharp left onto the highway, causing everyone to slide to the right.
Lance fell asleep soon after, slightly pissed at himself for not moving off of Keith's shoulder.

AND I AM COMING HOME TO YOU WITH MY OWN BLOOD IN MY MOUTH
voltron: legendary defender klance rated M, no archive warnings apply, additional warnings in author note 1/1 chapters, 1k words
The lights turn on.
Lance stands at the door to their bedroom in disheveled pajamas, his hair sticking up in odd directions. There are dark circles under his eyes, purple as Keith’s bruises.
“Keith?” he asks in soft devastation.
“…I’m home,” Keith says weakly, letting go of his knife.
Five years after the war, Keith and Lance still can't stop running.

Summary:
Allura's father died a month before she graduated high school. That is not relevant to this story. (It's not.) Allura has been looking forward to her first semester of college for ages, and she has it all planned out from her major to extracurricular to her dorm room aesthetic. Except… Nothing in is turning out the way she had planned. Boringly easy classes, difficult peers, unfulfilling clubs… And who is this Shiro with understated snark and more secrets than meets the eye?

walk with me here you guys ahem,
Keith and Lance finally have The TalkTM on a day like most others. The paladins go about their business on the castleship, Keith and Lance mostly doing their activities together as has become, without their really noticing, habit. Keith flips through the pages of one of Allura's Altean romance novels on one end of the couch, Lance plays a video game on the handheld console he and Pidge found at a thrift store the last time they'd stopped off at a space mall from the other end. At some point they wander to the kitchen and make Hunk's latest attempt at space popcorn. They throw the pieces at each other, trying to break their previous streak record of 106 popcorn-mouth-catches. When they run out, they pelt each other with kernels until they collapse on the kitchen floor, out of breath and laughing. They clean up their mess together. They train, talk team strategy, help Coran out with some cleaning. They visit Hunk and Pidge in the lion bay and are promptly kicked out for causing trouble (neither of them can seem to keep their hands to themselves, always touching pieces and parts and projects, and inevitably something falls over and Pidge is yelling and they're scrambling away, giggling as they run down the hall). The paladins eat dinner, everyone hangs out together for a while, and life in space is pretty good.
Lance and Keith are often the last two left in the lounge as people split off--either to go to bed or to work on something independently until the wee hours (Pidge). They're chatting, swapping stories, arguing about silly hypotheticals, until Lance yawns mid-sentence and Keith knows it's time for bed. They stand together and walk to their rooms in warm silence, close enough to brush shoulders, neither changing trajectory to avoid the contact. They stop in the space between their doors to say goodnight; this, too, is normal. They smile small smiles at each other and linger, time stretchy in the way it is at nighttime.
And then something new happens.
"Keith," Lance says slowly, like he's turning the word over in his mouth for the first time. "Would you ever want--"
Keith's heart stutters in his chest and the silence of the empty hallway is suddenly deafening. Lance only hesitates for a beat but it stretches.
"--to go on a space date," Lance finishes, brows unknitting as he seems to consider what just came out of his mouth. Finding it acceptable, he nods, then lifts his gaze from the floor to meet Keith's wide-eyed gaze. "With me," Lance adds, an afterthought but an important clarification nonetheless, quirking an eyebrow.
Keith purses his lips for a moment that pulls like taffy into an eternity and it's Lance's turn to hear the ocean roaring in his ears as he waits. "Would that make us--"
Lance can't breathe.
"--space boyfriends?" Keith finishes and the air rushes from Lance's lungs, something like relief. Keith is smiling his mischievous smile, the crooked one that puts a spark in his eyes. It is among Lance's favorite Keith expressions (there are many).
"Yeah, I guess we'd be space boyfriends," Lance concedes, biting down on his lower lip to keep his grin from spreading too far. He's not doing a very good job.
"Hm." Keith nods solemnly. "Space boyfriends it is, then."
"Cool," Lance concludes eloquently.
"Cool," Keith echoes, and then they're standing in ooey gooey marshmallow silence, grinning softly at each other for a long time or maybe no time at all. Keith feels very warm and melty on the inside. Lance thinks he could run a marathon and not break a sweat.
"Alrighty then, g'night Space Boyfriend," Lance breaks the silence with a two-fingered salute and shuffles backwards towards his door.
Keith rolls his eyes without meaning to, affection heating his face despite himself. "Goodnight, Lance." He turns towards his door, grinning to himself as Lance snorts. Their doors slide open, their doors slide shut.
***
Hours later, Lance slips out of bed, buzzing with the news, and appears, bouncing uncontrollably on his toes and biting on the biggest grin, at Hunk's door. Hunk is rubbing blearily at his half-lidded eyes when he door slides open and he takes in the sight of Lance, practically glowing. Hunk blinks once. Twice. Does a little mental math. And it hits him. His eyes go wide and his mouth makes a little o, eyebrows leaping up his forehead.
"No... No." And Lance is nodding vigorously, eyes shining with unshed happiness, and that bit lip is barely withholding the giggle that threatens to erupt from the vibrating blue paladin. Hunk scoops him into the biggest bear hug, shouting "TELL ME EVERYTHING RIGHT NO-" and the door slides shut behind them, Lance's peals of laughter ricocheting down the halls.
Keith is awake in his room, sitting on the floor with his back up against the door, pressing a grin so wide it hurts into his knees. He rolls his eyes affectionately when he hears Hunk's muffled delight and finally stands up to go to bed.

“I know,” Keith says, voice hardly a whisper, though he doesn’t. “It’ll be okay,” even though it won’t. And Lance just trembles against him, a boy coming to terms with the fact that he will never see his mother again, a child coming to terms with his own death.
Lance is only dead for a moment.
A lot can happen in that time.

yes yes absolutelyyyy - k
Your boots beneath my bed by ickkl (1/1 | 1,538 | Mature)
He looks over at Keith, gazing softly at him and just — admires him. He could never get tired of admiring him; of memorizing every small detail about him. The way his long eyelashes would flutter against his cheeks every now and then, probably from dreaming; the way soft snores would occasionally leave his slightly parted lips; the way he would unconsciously reach out to lance, always trying to stay as close to him as possible. Even after three years of them being together; after years of waking up next to each other, Lance is unable to even imagine himself ever stop looking at Keith like that.
kosmo's mission by adelfie (1/1 | 2,027 | Mature)
“For some convoluted reason, Kosmo likes you. And he likes me. So… it makes sense he wants us together.” With a twinkle in his eyes, Lance adds, “He’s not the only one, you know.” __ Even Kosmo understands that Keith and Lance are a set and should not be separated.
something new and blue by ShatterinSeconds (1/1 | 4,023 | Teen and Up)
Lance has thought about what his wedding might be like since he was young--the venue, the music, the people he would not invite (which, ironically enough, Keith used to be on that list). Yet, with the event now only forty minutes away at most, all he cares about is being with Keith. They should have freakin’ eloped when they had the chance. (Or Lance and Keith are late to their own wedding)

Done with no redemption
Lance heard him before he saw Keith, not because he was loud or anything, but because Lance was expecting him. His footsteps have always been annoyingly light like a ninja. Lance tensed, a sour frown taking over his previously good mood.
“Lance, I—” Lance rolled his eyes, turning around with the fakest smile in his arsenal.
“You what, Keith?” Lance asked pleasantly, cocking his head to the side. Keith paused for another moment, his eyes awkwardly averted to the ground as he fidgeted.
“I ran away from you.” Keith sighed, hands dropping and finally looking Lance in the eyes. Lance felt it wasn’t adequately remorseful enough.
“I’ve had a lot of time to think about it, and, yeah. You were right.”
“You were right.” That single sentence seemed to just echo in Lance’s brain. Because— because his Keith didn’t just come out and admit something like that. Ever. You had to fight him tooth and nail for a half confession. (And Lance had evidence. He had to throw down with Keith just to get an answer to Lance’s real life, actual, love confession. Stubborn prick.) To say Lance was too shocked to speak would be an understatement. The shock gave way to an odd mix of amusement and seething hot anger.
“I was just running because I was afraid to face my feelings— actually, no. I was afraid of you.” Keith gnawed on his lip, thinking his words through. (Good, he’s learned his damn lesson about that.) “Because I tell you things I can’t even tell myself. Around you? My… walls are about as effective as paper is to fire.”
“Is that so?” Lance hummed, turning around and going back to folding his laundry. “Glad you’ve had some time for self discovery in the past 11 months that you’ve ghosted the team.” —and me, went unsaid, but the message was just as clear as though he had.
“I’m proud— really! Congratulations, dude!” Lance's grin only got bigger, throwing one of Keith’s t-shirts at him. He caught it and unfolded it with a hurt expression.
“Lance, please—” Keith’s eyebrows creased, like they always do when he’s hurt or confused.
“Don’t “Lance, please” me, Kogane. It’s not like you ever listened to a single please from me. In fact, I don’t even think it ever even made you pause.” Lance calmly stated, wrapping up doing his laundry and storing it in Red. On the trip back to Earth with minimal supplies, Lance barely had any supplies— no moisturizer or anything! But he was making do in these trifling times.
Keith was silent for a long moment as Lance continued cleaning up his Lion, throwing trash away and clearing out things he didn’t need as though Keith weren’t there in the first place.
“...Is this not fixable?” It was a quiet, feeble question.
“It was.” Was Lance’s simple response. It ignited a hope in Keith, but left him feeling uneasy.
“..Was?”
Lance straightened up, standing chest to chest with Keith, leaning in as though he were whispering a secret. “”I just don’t want to be stuck here for eternity with Lance.””
“From— from the game show? Seriously?” Keith asked incredulously, eyebrows now furrowing in anger and confusion.
“Hmmm…” Lance tapped his finger to his chin contemplating. “Yep! From the game show. You and the team made it quite clear how you felt about me, ya’know?”
Lance spun on his heel, plopping down and grabbing his armor to polish. “So, on that note; I need you to be civil until I leave the team.”
“Leave the team?”
“Yes, that’s what I just said.”
“You can’t just— you can’t just leave, Lance! What about Voltron? What about us?” Keith’s temper was steadily rising, stomping towards Lance before he stopped and recollected himself.
“One, yes, I can. Why would I stay somewhere I’m clearly not welcomed or appreciated? I’m going home after this shit-show. Two, there's six paladins, Keith. Simple math, even I can do it. Since, ya’know, I’m too stupid and should just leave something that complex to Pidge. Shiro can take Black back, you never wanted the position anyway, right?” Lance’s sugary sweet words were practically dripping in anger, Lance’s grin starting to annoy Keith. He knew just how hard he was hitting, and if he was honest? Lance was amused.
“Of course we want you here! And— and, um…” Keith’s shoulders slumped, he was too flustered! He couldn’t think of an argument, yeah. He just didn’t see this coming— Lance was just confused! Keith reached for Lance’s wrist, brows furrowed and eyes oddly wet.
“You can’t leave us, please. We need you.”
“Well I don’t.” Lance yanked his wrist back with a disgusted turn of the lips.
“Now get out of my lion.”

A/N: I don't have a particular set schedule for posting other than it'll be Wednesday Mornings!
Summary:
Something was happening. That much was obvious.
There had been suspicious reports of 'wildlife' appearing in areas that hadn't had any before, mysterious disappearances that made little to no sense. There could be a threat, the danger of the world of the unknown being exposed.
Keith and his team happened to stumble into it.
Lance and his friends happened to be right in the middle of it.
