It’s been raining 🌧️🌂 so heavily that the city has declared a red alert ‼️ Also been tracking my sleep 💤 and I seem to have improved my morning wake up times ⏰ and have been thankfully getting 7-8 hours per night. 🌃

4 March 2024 Recap: *Poll Included Below The Cut*

I spent the weekend at my parents' house and enjoyed watching All Creatures Great and Small while I studied for my Handling and Restraint Quiz (95% first attempt result, I'll do the retake tomorrow with a fresh head).

I wasn't up to cooking breakfast this morning, so I grabbed Chick-fil-A on my way back to the clinic/home (I live in the efficiency apartment above the clinic). Then spent the morning doing graphic design work for this blog, plus editing some B-Reel photos and evergreen content for Phobos's Instagram.

I had my weekly vocal lesson from noon to 13:00. After getting home around 15:30 after running a couple errands, I knocked out orientation for my canine conditioning and fitness certification with leftover Chipotle for lunch.

This evening, I discharged a patient after hours and settled in with a cuppa, my girl blogging, and Call The Midwife. Before I head off to bed, I'll revise notes and prepare content for my posts for the coming weeks.

VetPrep questions be like: You perform a CSF tap on a cow with suspected listeriosis. What is the cytology?

And I’m just... When am I going to do a spinal tap on a cow?! There are so many other diagnostics and clinical features we would use before going to a CSF tap?? When is this happening in general practice?

December update

I passed my first semester! 📝 Went to the movies quite a lot this month. Im always in awe of the beautiful architecture in the south of this city. 🌆 The number of rottweilers 🐕 we get at the hospital with trypanosomiasis 🪱 is getting concerning now. We had this poor dog with right atrial enlargement and in CHF 🫀and A fib with a HR of 240. The owners declined further diagnostics/ interventions and signed up for a euth.

I cannot believe I didn't post this one here! Drawn last year, the biggest page of my fish anatomy and histology atlas.

Technically, transverse sections are more useful for looking at symmetry, so you can see if something is bilateral, but sagittal sections are just so cute! I love seeing a whole fish on a slide.
