I made these lentil pancakes (masoor dal chilla, recipe here) for dinner tonight and holy shit so delicious. I feel like the world knows a little bit about dosa (4-dal-and-rice pancakes) but has completely ignored the majority of South Indian legume pancakes, to our detriment. These are tortillas but spicy and made of protein!!! What’s not to love!! Plus, unlike dosa these only require a 4-hour soak and no fermentation so they’re super simple. I am going to make these again.

#Madhur jaffrey has an entire chapter on legume pancakes in her Vegetarian India cookbook and it’s absolutely brilliant #serve a pancake with a vegetable and some yogurt and a relish and bam that’s a balanced meal right there #food #I also roasted a pumpkin today and pureed it so I have all the ingredience to make pumpkin bread :)#flintandpyrite recipe blog
