congratulate me it's the 6 year anniversary of the time i apologized to 🌸 for wronging them by having experienced a desire to kiss them

#yes this is how we got together. yes i know you remember this and it was also annoying back then #box opener #we both had to work today but managed to fit in pancake breakfast and vegan italian restaurant dinner so i consider it a success #pancakes are really outrageously good. and very easy to veganize with no decline in quality which is a perk in a Mixed Diets household #if you don't make your own pancake mix i recommend trying it at some point. it lasts a long time and it tastes nicer b/c you can combine #various flours and meals to add additional flavor beyond the enticing yet weird glue paste quality that i always get from white flour only #however i was raised on whole wheat + oat flour pancakes so i may be the only person with this problem.#forget my anniversary this is a pancakes post now. do you think pancakes are better with additional flour types???? ADHD WIN! Meal actually tastes way better lazily microwaved instead of, like, prepared and cooked

#ok to rb #i made the most god awful pesto shrimp alfredo linguini thing yesterday #it was another 'leftovers as ingredients' meal #where i see what leftovers we have in the fridge and cook with whatever it is #yesterday it was pesto/corn/shrimp/alfredo sauce only #so i put it all together with pasta #because pasta is great for leftover meals. just toss shit in with noodles and you're usually good to go #um. it was Bad.#hella wet. like unsettlingly wet. i don't know where the wet came from #but it was worryingly wet. even for pasta #but microwaving it again today seems to have. like. congealed it but in a good way #and it slapped and had the perfect consistency when microwaved #so yay for that i guess #food tw

#i am thinking this week about how my mom just sent me the exact same ~thinking of you~ card that i have also received from my best friend #how different friends send me the same memes or gift me the same books #how close friends and loved ones remember what time i take my meds and remind me if i forget while we're together #when i'm sharing a meal at someone’s home and the person setting the table asks if i want a big fork or a small one #when people send me photos of random cats or bugs or other creatures they encounter in their day-to-day lives #and how last semester my boss found a beautiful moth and brought it to campus to show me and #my current preceptor found an abandoned wasp nest and brought it to the hospital for me #recently a few friends have told me (separately) that they want to spend more time with me bc they haven't really had female friends before #thinking about how many times i’ve had loved ones who were planning their weddings double check that i DON’T want to be a bridesmaid #how partners keep good vegan ice cream in the freezer because that’s my favorite post-coital snack #when people watch strange movies i love so we can talk about them together #thinking about the first time anyone calls me to say ‘i just wanted to hear your voice’#there is so much love in the world #how do i know if i’m giving enough back? how do i know if i’m doing it right?

#i love him so fucking much #he helped me cook pasta over the phone and was so sweet about it the whole time and he’s so silly :((((#pasta with seasoned marinara and parmesan cheese is fine dining in this house considering everything is expired ir we dont have it #no bread no eggs no tortillas nothing i could throw some cheese on and call a meal #we had spaghettios totinos pizza lettuce cheese and canned beans #i try not to make anything i dont know for sure i can make bc im bad at cooking #or we just. dont have the ingredients #most of the time we just dont have the ingredients to make things bc my mom is My Mom and kinda shit at feeding us #so i never learned how to cook beyond the basics #but he was so sweet and helped me make pasta #he said im gonna get fat in the future when we live together because we’ll have good food and snacks and shit #i always feel bad when he comes over and we dont have food bc im used to just looking at the stock and realizing its either disgusting #expired or Lettuce so i just. dont eat. but i dont wanna do that to him #and he’s jsut #djnejrbskdbsjhks :((((#i love my boyfriend #dear diary

I love learning about regional differences within countries or even regions. It's an American internet so even I know that New Yorkers are on a whole 'nother level of exceptionalism and being from Brooklyn specifically Means Something. Tell me, how does the rest of Brazil feel about people from Rio? What sets the Quebecuois apart, aside from speaking French? Does South Africa have stereotypes about people speaking all the different languages they have? Does being closer to North or South America mean something in Mexico? Italy hasn't been one cohesive country for very long, how shattered is it still? Etc etc etc tell me about regional stereotypes in your dear homeland Ethiopia make it a fight if you have to. I want to HEAR

#venlapost #like try not to be outright racist (not that I'm an expert on that) but aside from that #the innocuous things #this was spurred by the differences between east and west in Finland #I've tried to be vague about where i live but it's probably not TOO distinguishing to say i grew up in the west and now live in the east #and it's a common idea that people from savolax and karelia (east) are friendlier and more sociable than ostrobothnia (west)#(there are three ostrobothnias. you still know nothing about me. moving on)#and now that I'm closer to the eastern border I've also been made aware of the differences between north and south karelia #and how strong confirmation bias ban be lol #like. if someone happens to come by when we're on a break we invite them to join #and to me that's like 'oh how nice the eastern Finland hospitality in action :)'#while. i mean. if that happened in my hometown. would they really NOT do that #it is easier to imagine someone getting up and taking them to another room to talk so the rest can finish their coffee in peace #but isn't that more about the personalities of the people present?#in high school i had a substitute teacher from savolax #(who decided to translate it into savolax in English anyway. why are there three extra letters)#and he said that when you invite someone over to your house where he's from you'll prepare a whole meal to eat together #while over here you take guests to the living room for an hour before giving them a cup of coffee #and MAYBE some dry leftover... sweet buns idk how to translate it #he thought we were SO inhospitable #and i thought 'that's not true my mom always bakes like three different things to offer evening guests :('#before remembering. my parents moved to my hometown as adults. my mom is karelian #and her behavior in general is. VERY in line with the stereotypes lol #and how in some ways i feel some details about daily life suit me better here where i live now #i may have grown up in ostrobothnia but my roots are in the east and most of my extended family live all around savolax #so. maybe topelius was right and we DO have different tribes here #this got. longer than intended. finnish portion over go argue about YOUR east/west dichotomy

#// i owe like 300+ for my internet ($200+ to reactivate) reason i havent been able to pay it was due to paying rent/bills/groceries/gas #and medication(for my partner) and weve applied to a better job but we need funds to pay for the livescan to continue/finalize the hiring #process but sadly we wont be able to pay rent this month due to some circum's sothats sm ;u;#and aside from all that both of us going thru heavy depression and mental fog #we want to hang out w irl friends but feel like we cant cuz were always broke (our friends still live w their parents/have a safety net) an #we feellike a buzz kill cuz we cant pay for our own meals or afford to go out in general just feeling left out causing us to be depressed #and not wanting to go out/be invited out #we had one friend lecture us abt money when its like dude you&gf pay $200 in rent to ur parents; we live together(w my retired/disabled MIL #and we pay rent household bills groceries gas car stuff medication we get paid bi weekly so like first/ending monthweek checks are for rent #and the mid week check we have to save accordingly for rent but were cured w the pharaohs curse cuz whenever #we have money that we plan to get alil smth for ourselves something goes wrong w the car #like we cant do shit and honestly it feels like someones praying on our downfall or smth cuz its every fkn time we cant catch a break #so yeaa gunna go on hiatus dunno how long tho but wont be too long but i will still be drawing so maybe expect some art dumps #ily guys thank you for putting up w me i dont ghost on purpose im just always depressed and need to be distracted or else the urges comebac #trying to be okay but its hard but i need to grow up #//i have my parents but theyre going to financial hardships too so they cant help and my sisters cant help cuz older sis started a family #amd my twin sis lives w my parents #my mom started working but hadda stop due to having a grapefruit sized tumor on her ovary (which is the other main reason4 my depression #and dad could care less abt my moms condtion (hes the reason for her suffering but ahe refuses to leave him #vent post #sorry went off on a tangent #but istg if i lose my mom im going to fkn hurt him cuz i already lost my dad (my FIL) and i will not be able to mentally recover #like i was there when we got the phone call (couldnt be at the hosptial due to covid reg.) i dont ever want to go thru that heartache again #edit if youd like to help me out i have comms open and i have a cshpp if ur feeling generous ;; $altereghost

#I have concocted an elaborate fantasy where I had an ill-fated teenage romance with the current lady of the house #when I was an apprentice/ward under the previous head cook & she was the free-spirited & doted upon daughter of the previous lord #who would sneak into the kitchens to steal fruit tarts and cheeses in a manner that was quietly indulged #& who I'd be tasked with bringing meals to when she couldn't be found for dinner and we gradually enchanged conversation #and developed feelings for each other & she always talked about different fantasies for a future together #and I knew that could never happen but she didn't seem to #and then her only brother died in a tragic hunting 'accident' & she is expected to inherit her fathers lands and can no longer be #the doted upon young mistress who will eventually be expected to marry in a distant theoretical way #and instead is betrothed to marry the son of a rich merchant who was one of her brother's companions #& in her grief and under the weight of increased expectations she pushes me away until years later I'm the head cook #and I get a nostalgic pang in my chest when I catch her children sneaking into the kitchens for fruit tarts #and sometimes I bring her missed meals personally rather than sending a scullery maid to deliver them #and we have prolonged eye contact but she's far too busy managing the estate and her absent husband's business affairs #for anything more to come of it until one day she uncovers letters that prove that her husband conspired to kill her brother and marry her #in order to gain access to her lands and station & I'm the only member of the household that has kept on since her father was lord #who she can trust/go to in order to troubleshoot what she should do about this
