Rant (and kinda callout???)

Ohh my God... I don’t use Tumblr in a while, I’m really sorry, sometimes I forget that I’ve one and also because the website isn’t a cup of tea for me for being a little confusing. But there’s something that I’ve been wanting to take off of my chest and it’s about the proshippers from The Umbrella Academy’s fandom.

Since I’ve been part of this fandom, my friends and I’ve witnessed a lot of pretty fucked up shit (and to make it even worse, a lot of fanarts done by proshippers are well made, it’s sad that these artists are wasting their talent in problematic matters...): from here on Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest and etc... And it’s horrendous the amount of people in the fandom that ships and defends incest and p*dophilia with the classic arguments such as “it’s fiction, it doesn’t affect reality”, “in the comics some of the siblings were dating/had a crush on each other”, “Vanya is bisexual”... Gosh, these arguments are so annoying, repetitive and you can easily debunk them, however, these people still denies the proofs you give to them and some of them even attacks you for no reason whatsoever.

If you’re a Vissy (Vanya x Sissy) shipper, please, be careful while posting something related to the couple, especially on Instagram. Fiveya shippers will find your post/fanart/shipping edit and they will attack you and/or even steal your artwork, especially if it has the lesbian or sapphic flag on it. My best friend had their fanart of sapphic Vanya stolen and badly edited to a bisexual flag and the person even claimed to be the original artist behind it last year. Those same Fiveya stans call Vissy shippers biphobics when in reality, they only care for bisexual rights when it comes to shipping Vanya with her 14 years old looking brother, cus I never saw any of these stans actually raising awareness for the bi folks before. And oh, I can’t forget that they’re also extremely lesbiphobic towards Vanya and transphobic towards Elliot Page: several of the Fiveya stans that attacked my friends and I said awful things about lesbians to us and they also invalidate Vanya’s sexuality just because she had a relationship with Leonard in the first season, but in the series there are lots of scenes showing that Vanya is a lesbian, in the official Wikia of the show, Vanya’s profile page says that she’s a lesbian and Elliot himself told in a recent interview that Vanya fell in love for the first time in the second season, which means her first love was Sissy. Unfornately, these stans also invalidate Elliot’s gender and words, only giving a damn to what Aidan says... They know that Aidan is a problematic celebrity, but looks like they don’t care about it just because “he’s handsome”. Like beauty is a good excuse to defend someone amirite? /s

Anyways, here’s my rant. If you’re reading this, I hope you’ll have a good day, drink water, use masks and be careful with proshippers. They’re increasing in numbers (both inside and outside of the fandom) and this is really worrysome...
