somewhere,     in the regions fruition & embrace.    there were two   (   a masculine  & feminine version of the netherworlds standard.  )  pennants of  magnetism,  beauty,  the ugliness were only existing from their separate view.  & as perceived,   from hell at least,  the smudge & those flaws were particularly sewed in such delicate style.      as if every trauma,   encounter,    sensation had been foredoomed to a point of such a precision,
it could have been meant.   (  so it was,    & it’s this derision which carves  &  casts their enigmas.    almost cosmically attracting,       almost fated. )      the romeo   & juliet of the underworld would be a pitted amusement,   yet  towed  within the depths of the realm in which they suit were no laughing matter.       (   they could wear their flesh,  emboss the living corpses,  drape & fill themselves to  cusp.  )         & yet still remain empty,   barren of earthly purposes where they would instead thrive in the silent valleys   & hot capes within the under earth,  which is hell.

BWHAHAHDHEJEJWJWJ FINALLY, HE HAS A NAME—
Allow me to introduce you to Viorel Schöpfer! (I guess if we’re going with how Vil’s name is spelled, it’ll be spelled, “Schoepfer.”)
(Template was provided by @primrozii on tumblr, we thank you for your editing services sjfjejdjdj. Go check out their art while you’re looking for the template to use lmao)
The only reason this took so long to make (it’s been in the works for a long while) is because I couldn’t settle with a name lmao ಡ ੴಡ
If you want to read more about him, the process, etc, please keep reading!!
A little trivia; when I made Oc’s, they never really lasted long/existed long enough in my brain to actually be worthy of a name that I would’ve thought long and hard about. The longest existing one was Shikatani, (from the Haikyuu fandom), and she still didn’t last that long. (7-8 months, give or take.)
And all of my male OC’s either ended up having the names, “Victor,” “Viktor,” “Vincent,” Vinnie,” “Vonnie,” you get the gist.
Granted, his name still begins with the letter, “V” but it’s far more creative than the ones I just mentioned.
If any of you are more interested in the specificities of his Unique Magic, please see this post for further details.
Personality-wise; he mostly keeps to himself but does not entirely shy away from attention, given how “flashy” he can look. He may not come across as such, but it is speculated that he is highly intelligent. Though not one to take down notes, nor study due to his laziness, he never fails to be part of the top 10 ranking students at NRC. He also dedicates a lot of his time into doing things that he likes, but tends to fall short when he’s forced to take care of something he doesn’t.
Viorel, of course, is also quite kind and generous to the students of NCR as he does hail from Dorm Octavinelle, or is that simply apathy? He’s not bothered by a lot of what happens around him, but he does like being an audience to the many interesting things that happen at the institution.
If you want any trivia about him lolol, then go on and read ahead;
Trivia:
“Viorel” is a masculine name of Romanian descent, and refers to the “English Violet” flower, or simply known as, “violets.”
Persephone, along with her Nymph companions, were gathering rose, crocus, violet, iris, lily and larkspur blooms in the springtime meadow when she was abducted by the god Hades.
“Schöpfer” is the masculine term for, “creator.”
Viorel is one of the few first years who have determined their Unique Magic.
He comes from a small village in the Land of Pyroxene, on the East end where everyone is, for lack of a better term, poor. The population is so small that practically everyone knew each other.
He is mostly left-handed. He only writes with his right for his Unique Magic.
His Unique Magic requires him to have already been in contact with a person to write a prediction personal to them.
His predictions are written in a poetic format, however they change in length, and style depending on whatever their future entails.
He knows little to nothing of the predictions he has written unless he has seen/sees the written output.
He works at the Mostro Lounge and was personally recruited by Azul to be, “an additional attraction.”

Hi! I was wondering what do you think of (true) Lilith in Scorpio/Scorpio in the 11th.... Are they intense?
1. Black Moon Lilith [H13]
and most commonly use/known.  She encompasses true Osculating Lilith [h13]  & Mean Lilith. She is not a solid object, but rather a point of alignment. The point that is farthest from the earth [ the moon’s apogee].
KEY WORDS. Priestess V prostitute, magic v sorcery, forbidden fruit, angels v demons, animal magnetism, tantric sex, seduction, the supernatural, intuition, psychic ability, psychic healing, hypnotism, charisma, altered states, glamour, shamanism, psychedelic drugs, addiction, obsession.
Think of her as NEPTUNE. This part of the Lilith myth corresponds to the forbidden fruit episode, She is the serpent offering the fruit. Serpents represent occult knowledge, while the apple represents sex. Neptune is very much like a psychic sponge. A similar effect to using drugs to break down the barriers to the unconscious parts of us. Like illusory and deceptive Neptune when drugged, this zone can let in the dark messages from beyond the veil and our subconscious. Our addictions and obsessions
2. Asteroid Lilith [1181]
KEY WORDS. Rebellion, Earthy, feminist, prostitution, exile, freedom fighter, confrontational, equality, impulsive, innovative, unconventional, asexual, instinctual, sensual.
She is the only physical manifestation of Lilith found in the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars. Like her being based in the physical realm as opposed to a hypothetical point in our charts, Asteroid Lilith is hands-on with her energy. You can see this reflected in her “hand-like” glyph. She is Earthy and practical, she reflects the part of the creation myth in Hebrew lore where she protests to God about having the “lie beneath and submit” to Adam. She needed to have equal status.. Asteroid Lilith is like URANUS. Unpredictable. Unconventional. As Uranus being castrated makes him asexual, he is paired and associated with alternative lifestyles. Lilith here is the same. The eternal free spirit. Peter-pan-esque. She represents the lack of “traditional” sexuality and a “traditional” lifestyle. She is stark in her opinions but overall, free.
3. Dark Moon Lilith [H58]
KEY WORDS. Vengeance, Sadomasochism, Demons, The Shadow, Abuse, Rage, Anti-mother, Fairytales, dark sexuality, Seduction, Nightmares, Choas, Nymphomania, Addictions, Psychotic states, Toxins, Depth psychology, Stalkers, emotional pain, Catharsis, Madness. The Dark Moon is the hurt, ruthless side of Lilith. The part of us that reacts abuse and cruelty, where and how we experience it, or where we can dish it out. Very akin to Algol the notorious Fixed star. She is also called Waldemath Lilith. She is the part of the Lilith myth where while in exile she practiced infanticide and turned OG nymphomaniac out of revenge to god. “Dark Moon relates to highly individualized soul desires that are denied personal satisfaction for higher expression on social/spiritual levels. Dark Moon Lilith is like PLUTO on steroids. The shadow, the secrets, the hidden demons-- all very much part of Pluto’s underworld. The dark lies and myths people attribute to him I.e having “raped and abducted” Persephone, even though we all know Persephone eloped with him willingly. Here she has a duality which we have to face when she is activated. dither face our Demons, make peace, and bury them or allow them to fester until they become engorged and enraged. The latter runs the risk of them breaking out and psychically overtaking and violating us, just as Lilith did in antiquity.
These three faces of Lilith can be associated with the three heads of the Triple Goddess. When combined or aspecting points in your chart, there you will see her energy manifest. She is all about intensity. Her vibe itself is 8th house/Scorpionic in nature. On your ascendant, it will play out like this. In the houses, which are the stages your planets [sun, moon, Venus] play out their role [Sign= Taurus, Scorpio [where she feels at home], Pisces, Sag] you can see her play out like this. Regardless of her dark and complicated nature, her energy can be channeled beneficially if used without ego to release negativity through creativity, healthy sexual activity, or therapeutically.

i mean you can read if you want? but it’s mainly for my own notes to refer back to.    hades in ovid metamorphoses book v & the orphic hymns
Bk V:332-384
Calliope sings: Cupid makes Dis fall in love
‘This much she played on her lute, with singing voice. Then called on us, - but perhaps you are not at leisure, or free to listen to a repetition of our music?’ ‘Do not stop’ said Pallas, ‘but sing your song again as you arranged it!’ and she sat amongst the light shadows of the grove. The Muse renewed her tale ‘We gave our best singer to the contest. Calliope, who rose, with her loose hair bound with ivy, tried out the plaintive strings with her fingers, then accompanied the wandering notes with this song.
‘“Ceres first turned the soil with curving plough, first ripened the crops and produce of the earth, first gave us laws: all things are Ceres’s gift. My song is of her. If only I could create a song in any way worthy of the goddess! This goddess is truly a worthy subject for my song.
‘“Trinacris, the vast isle of Sicily, had been heaped over the giant’s limbs, and with its great mass oppressed buried Typhoeus, he who had dared to aspire to a place in heaven. He struggles it’s true and often tries to rise, but his right hand is held by the promontory of Ausonian Pelorus, and his left hand by you, Pachynus. Lilybaeum presses on his legs, Etna weighs down his head, supine beneath it, Typhoeus throws ash from his mouth, and spits out flame. Often, a wrestler, he throws back the weight of earth, and tries to roll the high mountains and the cities from his body, and then the ground trembles, and even the lord of the silent kingdom is afraid lest he be exposed, and the soil split open in wide fissures, and the light admitted to scare the anxious dead.
‘“Fearing this disaster, the king of the dark had left his shadowy realm, and, drawn in his chariot by black horses, carefully circled the foundations of the Sicilian land. When he had checked and was satisfied that nothing was collapsing, he relinquished his fears. Then Venus, at Eryx, saw him moving, as she sat on the hillside, and embraced her winged son, Cupid, and said ‘My child, my hands and weapons, my power, seize those arrows, that overcome all, and devise a path for your swift arrows, to the heart of that god to whom the final share of the triple kingdom fell. You conquer the gods and Jupiter himself, the lords of the sea, and their very king, who controls the lords of the sea. Why is Tartarus excepted? Why not extend your mother’s kingdom and your own? We are talking of a third part of the world. And yet, as is evident to me, I am scorned in heaven, and Love’s power diminishes with mine.
‘“‘Don’t you see how Pallas, and the huntress Diana, forsake me? And Ceres’s daughter too, Proserpine, will be a virgin if we allow it, since she hopes to be like them. But you, if you delight in our shared kingdom, can mate the goddess to her uncle.’ So Venus spoke: he undid his quiver, and at his mother’s bidding took an arrow, one from a thousand, and none was sharper, more certain, or better obeyed the bow. Then he bent the pliant tips against his knee, and with his barbed arrow struck Dis in the heart.”’
“Venus of Eryx, from her mountain throne, Saw Hades and clasped her swift-winged son, and said: ‘Cupid, my child, my warrior, my power, Take those sure shafts with which you conquer all, And shoot your speedy arrows to the heart Of the great god to whom the last lot fell When the three realms were drawn. Your mastery Subdues the gods of heaven and even Jove, Subdues the ocean’s deities and him, Even him, who rules the ocean’s deities. Why should Hell lag behind? Why not there too Extend your mother’s empire and your own….? Then Cupid, guided by his mother, opened His quiver of all his thousand arrows Selected one, the sharpest and the surest, The arrow most obedient to the bow, And bent the pliant horn against his knee And shot the barbed shaft deep in Pluto’s heart.” ― Ovid, Metamorphoses
Bk V:385-424
Calliope sings: Dis and the abduction of Proserpine
‘“Not far from the walls of Enna, there is a deep pool. Pergus is its name. Caÿster does not hear more songs than rise from the swans on its gliding waves. A wood encircles the waters, surrounds them on every side, and its leaves act as a veil, dispelling Phoebus’s shafts. The branches give it coolness, and the moist soil, Tyrian purple flowers: there, it is everlasting Spring. While Proserpine was playing in this glade, and gathering violets or radiant lilies, while with girlish fondness she filled the folds of her gown, and her basket, trying to outdo her companions in her picking, Dis, almost in a moment, saw her, prized her, took her: so swift as this, is love. The frightened goddess cries out to her mother, to her friends, most of all to her mother, with piteous mouth. Since she had torn her dress at the opening, the flowers she had collected fell from her loosened tunic, and even their scattering caused her virgin tears. The ravisher whipped up his chariot, and urged on the horses, calling them by name, shaking out the shadowy, dark-dyed, reins, over their necks and manes, through deep pools, they say, and the sulphurous reeking swamps of the Palici, vented from a crevice of the earth, to Syracuse where the Bacchiadae, a people born of Corinth between two seas, laid out their city between unequal harbours.
‘“Between Cyane and Pisaean Arethusa, there is a bay enclosed by narrow arms. Here lived Cyane, best known of the Sicilian nymphs, from whom the name of the spring was also taken. She showed herself from the pool as far as her waist, and recognising the goddess, cried out to Dis, ‘No’, and ‘Go no further!’ ‘You cannot be Ceres’s son against her will: the girl should have been asked, and not abused. If it is right for me to compare small things with great, Anapis prized me and I wedded him, but I was persuaded by talk and not by terror.’ Speaking, she stretched her arms out at her sides, obstructing him. The son of Saturn could scarcely contain his wrath, and urging on the dread horses, he turned his royal sceptre with powerful arm, and plunged it through the bottom of the pool. The earth, pierced, made a road to Tartarus, and swallowed the headlong chariot, into the midst of the abyss.
Bk V:425-486
Calliope sings: Ceres searches for Proserpine
‘“Cyane, mourning the abduction of the goddess, and the contempt for the sanctities of her fountain, nursed an inconsolable grief in her silent heart, and pined away wholly with sorrow. She melted into those waters whose great goddess she had previously been. You might see her limbs becoming softened, her bones seeming pliant, her nails losing their hardness. First of all the slenderest parts dissolve: her dusky hair, her fingers and toes, her feet and ankles (since it is no great transformation from fragile limbs to cool waters). Next her breast and back, shoulders and flanks slip away, vanishing into tenuous streams. At last the water runs in her ruined veins, and nothing remains that you could touch.
‘“Meanwhile the mother, fearing, searches in vain for the maid, through all the earth and sea. Neither the coming of dewy-haired Aurora, nor Hesperus, finds her resting. Lighting pine torches with both hands at Etna’s fires, she wanders, unquiet, through the bitter darkness, and when the kindly light has dimmed the stars, she still seeks her child, from the rising of the sun till the setting of the sun.
‘“She found herself thirsty and weary from her efforts, and had not moistened her lips at any of the springs, when by chance she saw a hut with a roof of straw, and she knocked on its humble door. At that sound, an old woman emerged, and saw the goddess, and, when she asked for water, gave her something sweet made with malted barley. While she drank what she had been given a rash, foul-mouthed boy stood watching, and taunted her, and called her greedy. The goddess was offended, and threw the liquid she had not yet drunk, mixed with the grains of barley, in his face. His skin, absorbing it, became spotted, and where he had once had arms, he now had legs. A tail was added to his altered limbs, and he shrank to a little shape, so that he has no great power to harm. He is like a lesser lizard, a newt, of tiny size. The old woman wondered and wept, and, trying to touch the creature, it ran from her and searched out a place to hide. It has a name fitting for its offence, stellio, its body starred with various spots.
‘“It would take too long to tell through what lands and seas the goddess wandered. Searching the whole earth, she failed to find her daughter: she returned to Sicily, and while crossing it from end to end, she came to Cyane, who if she had not been changed would have told all. But though she wished to, she had neither mouth nor tongue, nor anything with which to speak. Still she revealed clear evidence, known to the mother, and showed Persephone’s ribbon, fallen, by chance, into the sacred pool. As soon as she recognised it, the goddess tore her dishevelled hair, and beat her breast again and again with her hands, as if she at last comprehended the abduction. She did not know yet where Persephone was, but condemned all the lands, and called them thankless and unworthy of her gift of corn, Sicily, that Trinacria, above all, where she had discovered the traces of her loss.
‘“So, in that place, with cruel hands, she broke the ploughs that turned up the soil, and, in her anger, dealt destruction to farmers, and the cattle in their fields, alike, and ordered the ever-faithful land to fail, and spoiled the sowing. The fertility of that country, acclaimed throughout the world, was spoken of as a fiction: the crops died as young shoots, destroyed by too much sun, and then by too much rain. Wind and weather harmed them, and hungry birds gathered the scattered seed. Thistles and darnel and stubborn grasses ruined the wheat harvest.
Bk V:487-532
Calliope sings: Ceres asks Jupiter’s help
‘“Then Arethusa, once of Elis, whom Alpheus loved, lifted her head from her pool, and brushed the wet hair from her forehead, saying ‘O great goddess of the crops, mother of that virgin sought through all the earth, end your fruitless efforts, and do not anger yourself so deeply against the faithful land. The land does not deserve it: it opened to the abduction against its will. It is not my country, I pray for: I came here as a stranger. Pisa is my country, and Elis is my source. I am a foreigner in Sicily, but its soil is more to me than other lands. Here is my home: here are my household gods. Most gentle one, preserve it. A fitting time will come for me to tell you, how I moved from my country, and came to Ortygia, over such a great expanse of sea, when you are free of care, and of happier countenance. The fissured earth showed me a way, and slipping below the deepest caverns, here, I lifted up my head, and saw the unfamiliar stars.
‘“‘So, while I glided underground down there, among Stygian streams, with these very eyes, I saw your Proserpine. She was sad indeed, but, though her face was fearful still, she was nevertheless a queen, the greatest one among the world of shadows, the powerful consort, nevertheless, of the king of hell!’ The mother was stunned to hear these words, as if petrified, and was, for a long time, like someone thunderstruck, until the blow of deep amazement became deep indignation. She rose, in her chariot, to the realms of heaven. There, her whole face clouded with hate, she appeared before Jove with dishevelled hair.
‘“‘Jupiter I have come to you in entreaty for my child and for your own’ she cried. ‘If the mother finds no favour with you, let the daughter move you, and do not let your concern for her be less, I beg you, because I gave her birth. See, the daughter I have searched for so long, has been found, if you call it finding to lose her more surely, if you call it finding merely to know where she is. I can bear the fact that she has been abducted, if he will only return her! A spoiler is not worthy to be the husband of your daughter, even if she is no longer my daughter.’ Jupiter replied ‘Our child is a pledge and a charge, between us, you and I. But if only we are willing to give things their right names, the thing is not an insult in itself: the truth is it is love. He would not be a shameful son-in-law for us, if only you would wish it, goddess. How great a thing it is to be Jupiter’s brother, even if all the rest is lacking! Why, what if there is nothing lacking at all, except what he yielded to me by lot? But if you have such a great desire to separate them, Proserpine shall return to heaven, but on only one condition, that no food has touched her lips, since that is the law, decreed by the Fates.’
Bk V:533-571
Calliope sings: Persephone’s fate
‘“He spoke, and Ceres felt sure of regaining her daughter. But the Fates would not allow it, for the girl had broken her fast, and wandering, innocently, in a well-tended garden, she had pulled down a reddish-purple pomegranate fruit, hanging from a tree, and, taking seven seeds from its yellow rind, squeezed them in her mouth. Ascalaphus was the only one to see it, whom, it is said, Orphne bore, to her Acheron, in the dark woods, she not the least known of the nymphs of Avernus. He saw, and by his cruel disclosure, prevented Proserpine’s return.              Then the queen of Erebus grieved, and changed the informant into a bird of ill omen: she sprinkled his head with water from the Phlegethon, and changed him to a beak, plumage, and a pair of huge eyes. Losing his own form he is covered by his tawny wings, and looks like a head, and long, curving claws. He scarcely stirs the feathers growing on his idle wings. He has become an odious bird, a messenger of future disaster, the screech owl, torpid by day, a fearful omen to mortal creatures.
‘“He indeed can be seen to have deserved his punishment, because of his disclosure and his words. But why have you, Sirens, skilled in song, daughters of Acheloüs, the feathers and claws of birds, while still bearing human faces? Is it because you were numbered among the companions, when Proserpine gathered the flowers of Spring? When you had searched in vain for her on land, you wanted, then, to cross the waves on beating wings, so that the waters would also know of your trouble. The gods were willing, and suddenly you saw your limbs covered with golden plumage. But, so that your song, born, sweetly, in our ears, and your rich vocal gift, might not be lost with your tongues, each virgin face and human voice remained.
‘“Now Jupiter, intervening, between his brother and grieving sister, divides the turning year, equally. And now the goddess, Persephone, shared divinity of the two kingdoms, spends so many months with her mother, so many months with her husband. The aspect of her face and mind alters in a moment. Now the goddess’s looks are glad that even Dis could see were sad, a moment ago. Just as the sun, hidden, before, by clouds of rain, wins through and leaves the clouds.
Orphic Hymn 17 to Pluton
Pluto, magnanimous, whose realms profound are fix’d beneath the firm and solid ground, In the Tartarian plains remote from fight, and wrapt forever in the depths of night; Terrestrial Jove [Zeus Khthonios], thy sacred ear incline, and, pleas’d, accept thy mystic’s hymn divine. Earth’s keys to thee, illustrious king belong, its secret gates unlocking, deep and strong. ‘Tis thine, abundant annual fruits to bear, for needy mortals are thy constant care. To thee, great king, Avernus is assign’d, the seat of Gods, and basis of mankind. Thy throne is fix’d in Hade’s dismal plains, distant, unknown to rest, where darkness reigns; Where, destitute of breath, pale spectres dwell, in endless, dire, inexorable hell; And in dread Acheron, whose depths obscure, earth’s stable roots eternally secure. O mighty dæmon, whose decision dread, the future fate determines of the dead, With captive Proserpine [Kore], thro’ grassy plains, drawn in a four-yok’d car with loosen’d reins, Rapt o'er the deep, impell’d by love, you flew 'till Eleusina’s city rose to view; There, in a wond'rous cave obscure and deep, the sacred maid secure from search you keep, The cave of Atthis, whose wide gates display an entrance to the kingdoms void of day. Of unapparent works, thou art alone the dispensator, visible and known. O pow'r all-ruling, holy, honor’d light, thee sacred poets and their hymns delight: Propitious to thy mystic’s works incline, rejoicing come, for holy rites are thine.
Orphic Hymn 28 to Pluton
Daughter of Jove [Zeus], almighty and divine, come, blessed queen, and to these rites incline: Only-begotten, Pluto’s [Plouton’s] honor’d wife, O venerable Goddess, source of life: 'Tis thine in earth’s profundities to dwell, fast by the wide and dismal gates of hell: Jove’s [Zeus’] holy offspring, of a beauteous mien, fatal [Praxidike], with lovely locks, infernal queen: Source of the furies [Eumenides], whose blest frame proceeds from Jove’s [Zeus’] ineffable and secret seeds: Mother of Bacchus [Eubouleos], Sonorous, divine, and many-form’d, the parent of the vine: The dancing Hours [Horai] attend thee, essence bright, all-ruling virgin, bearing heav'nly light: Illustrious, horned, of a bounteous mind, alone desir’d by those of mortal kind. O, vernal queen, whom grassy plains delight, sweet to the smell, and pleasing to the sight: Whose holy form in budding fruits we view, Earth’s vig'rous offspring of a various hue: Espous’d in Autumn: life and death alone to wretched mortals from thy power is known: For thine the task according to thy will, life to produce, and all that lives to kill. Hear, blessed Goddess, send a rich increase of various fruits from earth, with lovely Peace; Send Health with gentle hand, and crown my life with blest abundance, free from noisy strife; Last in extreme old age the prey of Death, dismiss we willing to the realms beneath, To thy fair palace, and the blissful plains where happy spirits dwell, and Pluto [Plouton] reigns.

Look I know Tumblr in general loves Hades for actually having a good marriage with Persephone, but I can’t believe you guys don’t know the full extent that Dionysus embodies “Be gay, do crimes”
 - He’s a late-comer to the pantheon DESPITE being ONE OF THE OLDEST GODS in some incarnation or another because his cult was SO GODDAMN DANGEROUS TO AUTHORITY. It attracted women, non-citizens, and the generally marginalized to get drunk and fuck shit up in the name of holy ecstatic madness. Dionysus was the punkest shit for several running centuries  -  By all accounts had a loving (and probably poly, let’s face facts) relationship with Ariadne. There is no assault or coerced fuckery, he woos her and makes her his bride–which all the other gods never do with mortal women. He entered the underworld and returned specifically to get her and his mortal mother Semele(although not his mother in all forms, he has a running ability to be one of the few gods to be able to go back and forth from the living and the dead, which speaking of…). There’s no myths of any jealous mysogynistic fuckery, probably because most of his worshippers were women yo
 - Is sometimes attributed to being the child of Persephone and Hades, depending on time period and just how cthonic your version of Dionysus is. In the older versions, he had underworld powers to the point of possibly even supplanting his Dad Hades–certainly he’s at least older than him. So they can all be the best family ever depending on your interpretation
 - Is the queerest of Olympians and the twinkiest of twinks. In one of the versions where he’s being hid from Hera because he’s Zeus’s kid in this version, he’s raised in obscurity as a girl. At one point he’s abducted by sailors who think he has a purty mouth and want to have their way with him(suffice to say, that does not go well for them). Some scholars theorize that his gender fuckery is due to him originally having outsider origins, since he may have migrated from the ancient Middle East, where transfemininity is accepted and has ties to spirituality. His later forms in particular always show him as an unbearded youth as opposed to the very overtly masculine other gods, and many trans people see themselves in the absolutely central story of him dying/nearly dying and being born again I can’t write it better than Autostraddle here(https://www.autostraddle.com/lets-talk-about-dionysus-genderqueer-god-of-partying-and-pride-379653/): His femininity, attached to a body defined as male, is a large part of what made him threatening. Despite ancient Greek women needing to live lives of exemplary sexual self control if they wanted to survive while ancient Greek men happily engaged in orgies and wrote about rape as if it were a casual sport, sexual self control was considered a purely masculine virtue. Intense desire and the inability to control it were the afflictions of women, or particularly effeminate men. The fact that he sought out women and offered them wine, something their access to was heavily restricted due to the belief that it would make them lose what self control they had, made Dionysus a threat to the fundamental building block of the city state — that a man have legitimate children to replace him. We can still see this fear today in the cis male anxiety around queer and female sexuality, so afraid of losing their sexual dominion over women that they attempt to control it through legislation and violence.
 - Do you enjoy obscure cthonic occult fuckery? Well holy shit, this is the god for you, the oldest with the most incarnations in the pantheon and there’s practically precedence for believing any weird archetype you can imagine. Want to believe Ariadne is a goddess in her own right beside him? There’s theorized to be a weird winding dance cult surrounding her as “Mistress of the Labyrinth.” Here’s a video for more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5brAr51ip_k In conclusion

@obouros:  BRUSH OR WORK A COMB THROUGH MY MUSES HAIR  (HE,  TO LYDIA).
the steam still lifts of her skin in the cold catchment of the bedrooms air.  they seemed to exchange in each others presence with ease,  as if passively religious of the other  &  settled into routine.  in her dressing gown,  absolved in the flesh  &  fragrant sweet;  legs swung across the bottom of the bed  & dangle inches off the ground. the bristles stiffen in the matt of her damp hair.  how many times have you cut your hair because of this?  it doesn’t matter,  to chastise herself did not undo it.  there will be another time the same as this. “  i can’t brush my hair.   ”    how does one confess to the unclean?  that is how you feel yourself  &  you will viciously rip it apart (a scolding of your pretence).
he is silent as he moved behind her  & pried the comb delicately from her hand that was still a loose-wrought fist at her shoulder.  the movements of his fingers as he begins to deftly pry apart the matting of her hair barely stung in the strain of her scalp.    fingertips pin the radicle to prevent the flinching uproot as her hair inevitably snaps;  it is fewer than to cut it all  &  will mask itself among the aphotic sea of red.  it is not all like this.  she did not view herself as unkempt,  so as she brushed   (..]     she would waiver & the midst of it would knot together.  it was easy to hide,  but months in the making,  your hair is a cluster  &  snaps bristles of attempted retribution.
Tumblr media
you have poignant, compromising moments of self care. you bathed.  you changed linens. you brushed your teeth semi regularly  (to say, her gums bled less now).   it was enough to get by.  it was enough to feel together. it was enough to pretend.
he asks if he’s hurting you.  your vision is blurred by tears as they drip soundlessly,  brackish of the lips  &  petrichor into the open palms in your lap.  this is a relinquish of power.  he does not toy with it,  he does not hold it above her nor does he efface her  &  she is guarded by him,  not of him  (calyx of the woman). “   no,  you’re not.  ”      a strain in the welling of your throat;  these moments are not the ones she shared so readily & the shame of this sinks into her muscles like ache.
is this our love language?   i am beholden to you as no guise,  no figure  & the confidence that sloughs away to the matted roots of a wintered tree.   she doesn’t know how long she sits with his spindle-like fingers  &  the comb working to repent the damage of forgotten self-care. as he finished,  discreetly discarding the rend of hair,  his legs met either side of her own as she leant back into his enveloping arms,  head turning to kiss the contented hands that had made the poultice of a raw  &  tender confessional.
“   do you want me to brush your hair?   ”    soft spoken saccharine,  a half-murmur into his knuckles.  leaning her cheek against them,  her fingers follow the details of his palms  &  pray in a quietude of sweetness.

Astronomy 101:
Zodiac Constellations
Tumblr media
Zodiac constellations are constellations that lie along the plane of the ecliptic.
The ecliptic, or the apparent path of the Sun, is defined by the circular path of the Sun across the sky, as seen from Earth. In other words, the Sun appears to pass through these constellations over the course of a year.
The passage of the Sun through the zodiac is a cycle that was used by ancient cultures to determine the time of year. Most of the planets in the solar system have orbits that take them near the ecliptic plane, within about 8 degrees above or below.
The 12 constellations in the zodiac family can all be seen along the ecliptic.
They are: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo,Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus, Aquarius and Pisces.
The northern zodiac constellations Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and Leo – are located in the eastern celestial hemisphere, while the southern –Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus and Aquarius – are found in the west.
Seven of the constellations found along the ecliptic represent animals, as they did in Greek and Roman times:
Aries (The Ram)
Taurus (The Bull)
Cancer (The Crab)
Leo (The Lion)
Scorpius (The Scorpion)
Capricornus (The Goat)
Pisces (The Fish)
Today, the term “zodiac” is mostly associated with astrology, with the 12 signs of the western zodiac corresponding to the 12 constellations seen along the ecliptic.
The so-called cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) mark the beginning of the four seasons, i.e. the Sun is said to enter these signs on the first days of spring, summer, autumn and winter, respectively.
Aries is a midsize constellation that's not particularly luminous, with only a few stars that are easily visible to the naked eye. The Greeks and the Egyptians traditionally associated the constellation with a ram. In Greek mythology, the ram was golden and was sacrificed to Zeus, the Greek leader of the gods. Although Aries is an ancient constellation, it was not officially recognized by the muggle International Astronomical Union until 1922, and its boundaries were not defined until 1930 by muggle astronomer Eugène Delporte. Alpha, Beta and Gamma Arietis are the three brightest stars within the Aries constellation. The brightest is the red giant star Alpha Arietis, also known as Hamal.
Taurus is hard to miss as he charges through the northern winter sky. "The bull" is one of the most noticeable constellations and one of the oldest documented constellations, with descriptions of Taurus going as far back as the early Bronze Age. Taurus is most famous for its red giant star, Aldebaran, as well as a star cluster known as the Pleiades. Aldebaran also forms part of a V-shaped asterism, or group of stars, that is called the Hyades; this shape makes up the bull's face. Orange-hued Aldebaran is often described as glaring at Orion, the hunter, a constellation that lies just to the star's southwest. In addition to the Hyades, the constellation's other major star cluster is the Pleiades, which consists of seven stars that rest on the bull's shoulder. It is said that these stars represent the Seven Sisters, daughters of Atlas and Pleione from Greek mythology. When Zeus fell in love with the Phoenician Princess Europa, he transformed himself into a white bull with golden horns named Taurus and carried Europa away to Crete.
Tumblr media
Cancer is almost impossible to see Cancer as a crab with the naked eye or even binoculars. It looks more like a faint, upside-down Y. Perhaps the most famous exoplanet in the constellation is 55 Cancri e, a super-Earth that was (for a time) identified as a "diamond world." The original observations suggested that the host star had more carbon than oxygen in its interior. However, a follow-up study suggested that there is far less carbon in the planet than originally envisioned so "diamond" may be a misnomer. The constellation of Cancer represents the giant crab that attacked Hercules during the second of the 12 labors he performed as penance for killing his family. It was sent by the jealous goddess Hera to thwart Hercules as he battled the water serpent Hydra, but he killed it with his club.
Leo the Lion is one of the earliest recognized constellations. The Mesopotamians are known to have documented the "lion" constellation. Leo is a highly recognizable constellation, as it is one of the few constellations that resemble its namesake. It is fairly easy to find because the "pointer stars" of the Big Dipper point to Leo. The constellation can be found by looking for the head of the lion, or the "sickle," starting at the Regulus star. In Greek mythology, Leo is the Nemean Lion, which terrorized the citizens and had a hide that could not punctured by iron, bronze or stone. Killing the lion was another one of Hercules' 12 labors. Having broken all of his weapons fighting the man-eating lion, Hercules finally strangled it to death and placed it in the heavens as one of his conquests.
Tumblr media
Scorpius has intrigued people for centuries, not only for its distinctive shape, but also because it is one of the brightest constellations in the sky. The name is Latin for scorpion, or literally translated as the "creature with the burning sting”. Scorpius happens to be the location for several interesting exoplanets, who have metrics ranging from extreme old age to potential habitability. The planet PSR B1620-26 b is sometimes nicknamed "Methuselah" as it is estimated at roughly 12.7 billion years old. Scorpius and Orion are often intertwined in Greek mythology. According to one myth, Orion boasted that he would kill every animal on the earth. The goddess-hunter Artemis and her mother, Leto, dispatched a scorpion to kill Orion. Zeus put the scorpion in the heavens after it won the battle. In another myth, the god Apollo, Artemis's twin brother, grew angry and sent a scorpion to attack Orion because he claimed to be a better hunter than Artemis. Zeus put Orion and Scorpius in the sky, but they are visible at different times of the year.
Capricornus represents a creature that is a blend of fish and goat; the name means "goat horn" in Latin. Capricornus is among the faintest constellations, just brighter than Cancer. Three bright stars Alpha-2 Capricorni, Beta Capricorni, and Omega Capricorni form a triangle that makes it easier to pick out the constellation. The constellation has its roots in the cultures of Sumeria, which identified it with a mythical figure that was half goat and half fish. Also Babylonia, which portrayed it as a goat-human hybrid. The Greeks associate the constellation with Pan, the god of nature. Part of Pan's lore was that he helped Zeus fight the Titans to earn his spot in the heavens. He escaped the monster Typhon by jumping into the Nile, but only half of his body was submerged, so he was a fish in the part of his body that remained underwater. Other spins on the tale have the constellation associated with Amalthaea, the mythical goat that acted as a foster mother to Zeus as an infant.
Tumblr media
Pisces named for the Latin plural of fish. Pisces is notable for containing the point at which the sun crosses the celestial equator into the Northern Hemisphere around March 20 each year. This point, called the vernal equinox, used to lie in Aries, but has moved into Pisces because of the Earth's wobble on its axis, called precession. In the sky, Pisces is represented as two fish swimming at right angles to each other, one to the north and one to the west. They are attached by a cord. The fish themselves are supposedly the Greek goddess Aphrodite and her son, Eros, who turned into fish and jumped into the Euphrates River to evade the fiery breath of the monster Typhon, the most awful monster the world had ever seen.
Virgo is a congested constellation with dozens of known exoplanets and at least a dozen Messier objects. It is the largest constellation of the Zodiac and the second-largest constellation overall, behind Hydra. Virgo is typically linked to Dike, the Greek goddess of justice, and Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, the harvest goddess. According to Greek mythology, the earth experienced eternal spring until the god of the underworld abducted the spring maiden Persephone.
Tumblr media
Gemini is Latin for "twins," although the twins identified with the constellation depend on the culture. In Egyptian astrology, the constellation was identified with twin goats, while Arabian astrology said it was twin peacocks. The Western world tends to identify these twins as Castor and Pollux from Greek myth. But other twin pairs identified with Gemini in the Western world include the older and younger Horus and the mythical founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus.
Libra is Latin for weighing scales, making it the only constellation of the Zodiac representing an inanimate object.   The association with scales and balance began with the ancient Babylonians, with the scales representing the balance between the seasons as well as day and night. The ancient Greeks viewed Libra as the claws of Scorpius reaching out. To the Romans, Libra represented the scales of justice being held by the goddess Virgo or Astraea.
Tumblr media
Aquarius is a one of the oldest documented constellations. Aquarius was recorded in the second century by the Greek muggle astronomer Ptolemy. Its name means "cup bearer" or "water bearer" in Latin. The Greeks linked this constellation with Ganymede, the cupbearer to the gods. According to lore, Ganymede was a good-looking young man who was the object of Zeus' affection and was brought to Mount Olympus, where he served as cupbearer to the gods and was granted eternal youth. Aquarius has also has various meanings and associations in other cultures. Babylonian astronomers identified the constellation as representing the god Ea, or "The Great One," which was often pictured with an overflowing vessel. In ancient Egypt, the water bearer’s jar was said to cause the spring overflow of the Nile when it was dipped into the river. The Chinese astronomers viewed the "stream" as soldiers.
Sagittarius was recorded in the 2nd century by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy, and it is Latin for archer. The constellation's brightest stars — Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Phi, Lambda, Gamma-2, Sigma and Tau Sagittarii — form a star pattern, or asterism, called the Teapot. Delta, Epsilon and Lambda Sagittarii come together to form the archer's bow. Sagittarius is home to the bright blue hypergiant Pistol Star, one of the brightest stars discovered in the Milky Way. The Greeks identify Sagittarius as a centaur, horse-human hybrid with the body of a man atop the four legs of a horse. The creature is aiming an arrow toward its neighbor Scorpio. The lore has Sagittarius the Archer shooting Scorpio the Scorpion, which had been sent to kill Orion the Hunter. Sagittarius is sometimes confused with another centaur, Chiron of the Centaurus constellation. The Babylonians associated Sagittarius with the god Pabilsaĝ, who had two heads, one human, one panther, wings and was sometimes called "the wild bull with multi colored legs."

an epic (an elegy)
A post-TRoS Reylo poem, written for @reylocharityanthology.
I. (adapted from the aeneid, 1.1-1.11)
I sing of sabers a man, by legacy outcast, battered on land and in space by a higher force for a cruel lord’s long-held grudge: a man who suffered too much in war.
muse, tell me your reasons, why a man incandescent with goodness was tossed about from misfortune to misfortune, was dragged into such tortures. do the stars hold such hatred?
II.
they called me persephone and crowned you my lethal king. they swore you’d steal me forever for yourself and mourned my early loss.
in truth you were stolen in the spring of your youth, torn from my arms and I wander in infinite winter, calling you.
my eurydice, you fell to the serpent soon as we kissed. I wander and the underworld grows tempting.
III.
I glowed brilliant for you. I smiled that sunrays might light your way and shone harder as you rose to meet me, as you fell, wings melting, dragging you to dark and I wonder did the stars raise me to be your doom?
were you icarus or phaethon? where was the fault in your fall? did you drop just from your own free yearning, or were you chained to flickery til struck down by lightning?
lightning haunts my veins, it seems. perhaps you were semele, consigned to ash by the sole sight of me.
IV.
we fell to legends and legacies. another vader’s abduction another palpatine’s seduction a cruel poetry and the rhymes slant timeless, taunting.
V.
our artless tale echoes across all the stars: I meant to save you, my love, yet you lost your will to live.

Once inside, V noticed that not only the lobby got to be lavished with such care and attention when it comes to decoration.
Nico’s unit was surprisingly neat and decorated in such a way that made Nero stare in disbelief and V look with wonder. Several paintings that depicted some popular stories of the Greek Mythology, like the sojourns of Heracles, the forbidden love of Aphrodite and Ares, and the abduction of Persephone, hung on the wall. There were fragile things around, like some painted vases, that would surely make anyone be mindful of their movements. There were even some old collections, like Homer, Alighieri, and even Lovecraft, on the shelves located on the beige - and - black - ensemble living room, small, but impressive, all the same. But, most importantly, there was a classic feel, and distinct scent, about the whole place that simply made V right at home.
“Looks like someone feels comfortable.” Nero said, but he was ignored as V practically strode directly towards the glass top table in the living room where a black violin case was left forgotten.
The markings on V’s skin vanished as Griffon and Shadow made their way out and made themselves comfortable like their master.
Nico came in, bringing in the delivery of pizza that just arrived a few minutes ago.
“Who knew someone like you could own a place like this?” Nero mocked the woman, pointing at the impossibly beautiful and cozy place. “Surely doesn’t sound like you.”
“Shut it, psycho!” Nico shot back, enjoying her banter with Nero and unceremoniously dropping the three boxes of pizza on the table near the violin case, startling V a bit. “And just to inform ya, I don’t own this fancy place.”
“Whoa, then who lives here?” Griffon, who has made himself comfortable on top of the shelves, joined in on the conversation. “Don’t tell me you stole it!”
“No, little chicken! Any questions?” Nico screamed at Griffon’s face, almost making the demonic bird fall off the shelves in fright. “I’m livin’ here for a while, and I will appreciate it if ya don’t make a mess, or else I’ll throw you out,… or cook you in a steel pot!” She collapsed on the comfortable black sofa beside Nero and crossed her legs. “Any more questions, huh, little chickee?”
She reached into her pocket for a cigar and immediately stopped, suddenly looking horrified. She shook her head and cursed under her breath.
“What’s wrong, given up with that nasty habit of yours?” Nero asked, already opening a box and digging in.
“No, it’s just that,…” Nico said, fidgeting with her fingers. “She doesn’t allow it here.”
“Who?” Nero said, mouth already full of the special loaded beef supreme.
Nico pointed at the violin case in V’s gentle hands ( in a space of a few seconds, nobody noticed the tattooed man as he picked it up ). “The one who owned that, and this place.”
The childish smile on V’s face disintegrated as he carefully out the violin case back down on the table. “Then, I guess I shall have to ask her first. Where is she?”
Nico shrugged. “Dunno. Said she’ll be back before sunset.”
“But, it’s already half past six.” Nero retorted, mouth full of his third helping of the beef supreme.
“Yeah, well, she’ll get by.” Nico answered, reaching into her pocket and producing a small piece of black envelope. “What we need to focus on right now is this.”
As Nico put the envelope down on the table, V sat at the sofa across her and Nero, eyeing the suspicious thing with furrowed eyebrows.
“This is an RSVP from a wealthy man who lives just a few blocks away from here.” Nico explained.
Nero chuckled, already picking up his fourth helping of the pizza. “Is that an invitation for a fancy party, or something?”
“See for yourself.”
Nero was about to pick the envelope with his oily, messy hands when V stealthily snatched it away with his gloved hand, immediately tearing it open. And before he could extract the actual invitation inside, he carefully glanced at Nico and Nero’s direction.
“If I may?” He said in a low voice, his smirk truly branding him as the mysterious man that they knew.
“Go ahead.” Nico conceded, throwing her hands up in the air.
“Thank you.” He said, finally extracting the small piece of paper inside and reading its contents aloud. “You who are brave enough to face the wrath of the Gods, come to this place this coming Saturday at exactly eight in the evening. It said nothing else,… except for the address,…” V’s eyes lazily went back to the note, scanning it and making sure that he would not miss even the tiniest bit of detail, then looked at them once more. “… and the dress code.”
“A riddle, huh?” Nero said. “Sure doesn’t sound like Devil May Cry business.”
“You’re wrong right there.” Nico muttered, having her first slice of pizza. “That exact invitation was sent to others within the country. Devil Hunters, to be exact. Hey, V, wanna eat?”
“I’m good, thank you.” V answered, outright politely refusing the offer.
“How did you even know that?” Nero asked.
Nico leaned in closer to Nero like she was going to tell a huge secret. “So, I have contact with the others, like Lady and Trish. It seems that they also received the invitation. They even mentioned some famous and obscure names in the Devil Hunting business who got the invitation.”
V listened in, absorbing every piece of information he could take.
“And, let me mention this - Dante also received one.”
All of a sudden, all three of them heard a yelping sound near the window. Griffom almost fell off the shelves while the two men stood up, drawing sword and cane, ready for battle.
“Someone’s listening!” Nero said, revving his Red Rose.
“Looks like we have an,… unwanted visitor.” V whispered, slamming his cane against his left palm several times, ready to give some beatings. “Best to make it at home - ”
“Guys, guys! Stop!” Nico practically shrieked, standing up between the men and the window where they heard the suspicious sound. “What did I say about making a mess?!”
“Hey, hey! There’s an intruder right - AHH!” Griffon flew off the shelves, almost ripping the cream curtains when the tattooed woman suddenly grabbed him by the beak and forcefully threw him across the room, making both Nero and V dodge the incoming projectile. Shadow, who was actually unfazed all throughout the ordeal, looked up as Griffon flew, involuntarily, from point A to point B, and went back to lounging on the carpeted floor near V, chin resting on sleek, black forelegs.
“To not make any?” Nero muttered, answering Nico’s question but still not willing to put his weapon down.
“Exactly! That’s just the - ah - neighbor’s cat!”
“That,…” V said, pointing at the window using his cane as an extension of his arm. “… does not sound like a feline, at least to my ears.”
“Okay, okay, guys! Trust me and put your weapons down. Thank you!” Nico breathed a sigh of relief as the men calmed down a bit. “Now, as I was saying, we must go to this event and find out what this, wrath of the Gods, is!”
“We cannot go shorthanded.” V mentioned, still looking at the window suspiciously. “If we take the riddle in a very literal sense, then,… we would not have enough strength. We would be dealing with the wrath of the Gods,… after all.”
“That’s where I come in!” Nico crossed her arms and smiled proudly. “Nero, how’s the breaker coming along?”
Nero held up a blue metal arm which V shamefully did not take notice of before. “It’s fine, sure.”
“Oh, yeah? Then, I’ll be making new ones.”
“Isn’t this enough?”
“No!” Nico screamed, then turned towards V, and using the same tone she used on Nero, she spoke to him, making his eyes leave the window. “And, you! You seem interested in all this, yes?”
“As a matter of fact, I'am.” And it was the plain truth.
“Then, go get your own formal wear! I can’t provide you with one. I’m an artisan, not a freaking, fancy tailor!”
“Wait, like, right now?” Nero asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Duh?! Are you, like, gonna wait till Saturday for that? Go, go, GO!” Nico, despite her diminutive size, tried to push both Nero and V towards the door, making the two of them leave.
But, why?
Nero might be easily swayed by the woman, but V remained sharp. His eyes lingered for a second at the direction of the window when Nico snapped her fingers right in front of his eyes.
“Hey, hey, if you’re looking for some chicks, then you’re in the wrong place!” Nico sassed. “Get moving!”
V sighed, getting annoyed by the woman. What was she hiding from them?
He called in Griffon and Shadow, who went to him without question, and followed Nero outside, hearing the woman close the door quickly as soon as they got out.
And as soon as the two were safely out, Nico hustled towards the place V was intently staring at, drew the heavy curtains, and revealed the wide - eyed girl who was just hiding at the balcony right behind the window pane. Nico opened the window and let the girl in.
“Are you crazy?!” She shouted at the girl. “Why would you be hiding there? This is your home, for crying out loud! Are you a thief, or something?!”
You just looked at Nico, (E/C) eyes still wide, chest still heaving.
“It’s him, Nico.” You said.
“I’m sorry, what?”
You grabbed Nico’s shoulders and gave them a mighty shake. “It’s him! The man with the violin in my visions!”
“Who?!”
“The one with the markings on his skin!”
It was Nico’s turn to have widened eyes. She looked behind her at the door the two men just walked out of, then looked back at you. “The mysterious man? Are you sure about that?”
Yes, you were very certain of it. “It. Is. HIM!”

IV
Once inside, V noticed that not only the lobby got to be lavished with such care and attention when it comes to decoration.
Nico's unit was surprisingly neat and decorated in such a way that made Nero stare in disbelief and V look with wonder.
"Looks like someone feels comfortable." Nero said, but he was ignored as V practically strode directly towards the glass top table in the living room where a black violin case was left forgotten.
The markings on V's skin vanished as Griffon and Shadow made their way out and made themselves comfortable like their master.
Nico came in, bringing in the delivery of pizza that just arrived a few minutes ago.
"Who knew someone like you could own a place like this?" Nero mocked the woman, pointing at the impossibly beautiful and cozy place. "Surely doesn't sound like you."
"Shut it, psycho!" Nico shot back, enjoying her banter with Nero and unceremoniously dropping the three boxes of pizza on the table near the violin case, startling V a bit. "And just to inform ya, I don't own this fancy place."
"Whoa, then who lives here?" Griffon, who has made himself comfortable on top of the shelves, joined in on the conversation. "Don't tell me you stole it!"
"No, little chicken! Any questions?" Nico screamed at Griffon's face, almost making the demonic bird fall off the shelves in fright. "I'm livin' here for a while, and I will appreciate it if ya don't make a mess, or else I'll throw you out,... or cook you in a steel pot!" She collapsed on the comfortable black sofa beside Nero and crossed her legs. "Any more questions, huh, little chickee?"
She reached into her pocket for a cigar and immediately stopped, suddenly looking horrified. She shook her head and cursed under her breath.
"What's wrong, given up with that nasty habit of yours?" Nero asked, already opening a box and digging in.
"No, it's just that,..." Nico said, fidgeting with her fingers. "She doesn't allow it here."
"Who?" Nero said, mouth already full of the special loaded beef supreme.
Nico pointed at the violin case in V's gentle hands ( in a space of a few seconds, nobody noticed the tattooed man as he picked it up ). "The one who owned that, and this place."
The childish smile on V's face disintegrated as he carefully out the violin case back down on the table. "Then, I guess I shall have to ask her first. Where is she?"
Nico shrugged. "Dunno. Said she'll be back before sunset."
"But, it's already half past six." Nero retorted, mouth full of his third helping of the beef supreme.
"Yeah, well, she'll get by." Nico answered, reaching into her pocket and producing a small piece of black envelope. "What we need to focus on right now is this."
As Nico put the envelope down on the table, V sat at the sofa across her and Nero, eyeing the suspicious thing with furrowed eyebrows.
"This is an RSVP from a wealthy man who lives just a few blocks away from here." Nico explained.
Nero chuckled, already picking up his fourth helping of the pizza. "Is that an invitation for a fancy party, or something?"
"See for yourself."
Nero was about to pick the envelope with his oily, messy hands when V stealthily snatched it away with his gloved hand, immediately tearing it open. And before he could extract the actual invitation inside, he carefully glanced at Nico and Nero's direction.
"If I may?" He said in a low voice, his smirk truly branding him as the mysterious man that they knew.
"Go ahead." Nico conceded, throwing her hands up in the air.
"Thank you." He said, finally extracting the small piece of paper inside and reading its contents aloud. "You who are brave enough to face the wrath of the Gods, come to this place this coming Saturday at exactly eight in the evening. It said nothing else,... except for the address,..." V's eyes lazily went back to the note, scanning it and making sure that he would not miss even the tiniest bit of detail, then looked at them once more. "... and the dress code."
"A riddle, huh?" Nero said. "Sure doesn't sound like Devil May Cry business."
"You're wrong right there." Nico muttered, having her first slice of pizza. "That exact invitation was sent to others within the country. Devil Hunters, to be exact. Hey, V, wanna eat?"
"I'm good, thank you." V answered, outright politely refusing the offer.
"How did you even know that?" Nero asked.
Nico leaned in closer to Nero like she was going to tell a huge secret. "So, I have contact with the others, like Lady and Trish. It seems that they also received the invitation. They even mentioned some famous and obscure names in the Devil Hunting business who got the invitation."
V listened in, absorbing every piece of information he could take.
"And, let me mention this - Dante also received one."
All of a sudden, all three of them heard a yelping sound near the window. Griffom almost fell off the shelves while the two men stood up, drawing sword and cane, ready for battle.
"Someone's listening!" Nero said, revving his Red Rose.
"Looks like we have an,... unwanted visitor." V whispered, slamming his cane against his left palm several times, ready to give some beatings. "Best to make it at home - "
"Guys, guys! Stop!" Nico practically shrieked, standing up between the men and the window where they heard the suspicious sound. "What did I say about making a mess?!"
"Hey, hey! There's an intruder right - AHH!" Griffon flew off the shelves, almost ripping the cream curtains when the tattooed woman suddenly grabbed him by the beak and forcefully threw him across the room, making both Nero and V dodge the incoming projectile. Shadow, who was actually unfazed all throughout the ordeal, looked up as Griffon flew, involuntarily, from point A to point B, and went back to lounging on the carpeted floor near V, chin resting on sleek, black forelegs.
"To not make any?" Nero muttered, answering Nico's question but still not willing to put his weapon down.
"Exactly! That's just the - ah - neighbor's cat!"
"That,..." V said, pointing at the window using his cane as an extension of his arm. "... does not sound like a feline, at least to my ears."
"Okay, okay, guys! Trust me and put your weapons down. Thank you!" Nico breathed a sigh of relief as the men calmed down a bit. "Now, as I was saying, we must go to this event and find out what this, wrath of the Gods, is!"
"We cannot go shorthanded." V mentioned, still looking at the window suspiciously. "If we take the riddle in a very literal sense, then,... we would not have enough strength. We would be dealing with the wrath of the Gods,... after all."
"That's where I come in!" Nico crossed her arms and smiled proudly. "Nero, how's the breaker coming along?"
Nero held up a blue metal arm which V shamefully did not take notice of before. "It's fine, sure."
"Oh, yeah? Then, I'll be making new ones."
"Isn't this enough?"
"No!" Nico screamed, then turned towards V, and using the same tone she used on Nero, she spoke to him, making his eyes leave the window. "And, you! You seem interested in all this, yes?"
"As a matter of fact, I'am." And it was the plain truth.
"Then, go get your own formal wear! I can't provide you with one. I'm an artisan, not a freaking, fancy tailor!"
"Wait, like, right now?" Nero asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Duh?! Are you, like, gonna wait till Saturday for that? Go, go, GO!" Nico, despite her diminutive size, tried to push both Nero and V towards the door, making the two of them leave.
But, why?
Nero might be easily swayed by the woman, but V remained sharp. His eyes lingered for a second at the direction of the window when Nico snapped her fingers right in front of his eyes.
"Hey, hey, if you're looking for some chicks, then you're in the wrong place!" Nico sassed. "Get moving!"
"Are you crazy?!" She shouted at the girl. "Why would you be hiding there? This is your home, for crying out loud! Are you a thief, or something?!"
You just looked at Nico, (E/C) eyes still wide, chest still heaving.
"It's him, Nico." You said.
"I'm sorry, what?"
You grabbed Nico's shoulders and gave them a mighty shake. "It's him! The man with the violin in my visions!"
"Who?!"
"The one with the markings on his skin!"
It was Nico's turn to have widened eyes. She looked behind her at the door the two men just walked out of, then looked back at you. "The mysterious man? Are you sure about that?"
Yes, you were very certain of it. "It. Is. HIM!"

The Pomegranate Imagery - Jonsa, ASOS.
So I originally set out to write another meta compiling all the parallels found in Jon & Sansa’s last few chapters from A Storm of Swords but as I went on, I figured the pomegranate instance was worthy of a post of its own.
The Pomegranate Imagery
Throughout Jon & Sansa’s chapters in A Storm of Swords, the mention of pomegranates are scattered.
Lady Olenna tells Sansa she looks like a pomegranate when she blushes:
No, don’t blush, with your hair it makes you look like a pomegranate.
- Sansa I, ASOS.
While in Jon’s chapters, Bowen Marsh is referred to as the ‘Old Pomegranate,’
Dolorous Edd sometimes called Marsh “the Old Pomegranate,” which fit him just as well as “the Old Bear” fit Mormont.
- Jon V, ASOS.
Much later, once Littlefinger takes Sansa away from Kingslanding, he offers her a pomegranate:
“Grisel,” he called to the old woman, “bring some food up. Nothing too heavy, my lady has a tender tummy. Some fruit might serve, perhaps. Oswell’s brought some oranges and pomegranates from the King.”
[...]
There were apples and pears and pomegranates, some sad-looking grapes, a huge blood orange. The old woman had brought a round of bread as well, and a crock of butter. Petyr cut a pomegranate in two with his dagger, offering half to Sansa.
“You should try and eat, my lady.” “Thank you, my lord.” Pomegranate seeds were so messy; Sansa chose a pear instead, and took a small delicate bite.
[...]
Lord Petyr dismissed him with a wave, and returned to the pomegranate again as Oswell shuffled down the steps. “Tell me, Alayne—which is more dangerous, the dagger brandished by an enemy, or the hidden one pressed to your back by someone you never even see?”
“The hidden dagger.”
“There’s a clever girl.” He smiled, his thin lips bright red from the pomegranate seeds.
- Sansa VII, ASOS.
The same way Sansa rejects the pomegranate offered by Petyr, Jon comes to reject Bowen Marsh’s plans for the Night’s Watch. The theme and imagery of the Pomegranate rings through to these two characters’ POV chapters, what it means to represent may differ in terms of your interpretation but much speculation has been made about linking it to the duality of Persephone.
The tale of Persephone in Greek mythology is of the stolen daughter of Zeus and the harvest Goddess Demeter. Hades had abducted Persephone for himself as Queen of the underworld. Grief stricken and infuriated, her mother Demeter cursed the crops to wither and made the earth barren, prompting Zeus to interfere. However, while in the underworld, Hades had tricked Persephone into eating his pomegranate seeds, therefore binding her to him for a third of the year. And so Persephone from thence would spend eight months on earth with her mother, and four in the underworld with Hades. The months she spends with the latter correspond with winter during which Demeter would make the soils barren, while spring would mark her return.
So how does this tie to either character?
With Sansa, in the beginning of AGOT, she was the Stark most tied to the South and its cultures, otherwise represented by its warmth and vivacity, the same way Persephone had been the Goddess of Spring, the season most associated with life. Sansa is then forced to marry Tyrion Lannister against her will in A Storm of Swords or Season 3 of Game of Thrones, who is heavily noted for his wealth. Similarly, in Greek mythology Hades is associated with wealth because gold and jewels are drawn from beneath the ground. Moreover, because of the death of Lady and the special connection the Stark kids have with their direwolves, Sansa is both alive and dead simultaneously, mirroring Persephone’s situation. Littlefinger also associates her with Catelyn, who in the books at least, has been reanimated as Lady Stoneheart. Though as winter seems to imprison Persephone, Sansa sheds off her naivete and is made stronger “I am stronger within the walls of Winterfell,” so in this respect, winter may be the season to set her free. After all, it is a time for wolves.
In Jon’s case, he represents the duality of Persephone more obviously. He is heavily associated with the colour black as he wears it in the Night’s Watch, his arc ties him to the undead wights, and his direwolf is named Ghost. These evoke death imagery and things you would tie to the Underworld and yet Jon is at present, a living man(at least until he gets stabbed in ADWD). Once he awakens, we can only wait to see how it plays out in the books, but at current in the show, he’s basically already reanimated.
The significance of the rejection of pomegranates:
As aforementioned, both Jon and Sansa come to reject the pomegranate. In the extract of Sansa’s chapter whereby Littlefinger offers it to her, she reflects that pomegranate seeds are “messy” and Littlefinger is left with a bright red stain on his lips after. In literature, pomegranates are often symbolic of temptation, and in this case it may serve as a literary device to highlight Littlefinger’s indecent proposal that unfolds later on(he forces himself on Sansa, and plots to use her as a pawn in his plans). Therefore her rejection of the fruit may be foreshadowing of her rejection of his advances and in the grander scheme of things, his ways.
Interestingly in Jon’s case, Dolores Edd mentions pomegranates about Bowen Marsh(the Old Pomegranate) in a chapter in ADWD:
“Pomegranates. All those seeds. A man could choke to death. I’d sooner have a turnip. Never knew a turnip to do a man any harm"
- A Dance With Dragons.
It serves as a foreshadowing of what later happens to Jon(he gets stabbed by Bowen Marsh in the mutiny at Castle Black) and strengthens the pomegranate imagery in Jon’s chapters. He rejects not only Marsh’s plans, but in a way, he rejects death itself(at least if the books follow the show in regards to Jon’s revival).
What a lovely parallel to tie these two together! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter! x
