Imagine an a/b/o + soulmates Steddie AU where your presentation isn’t based on anatomy.
Steve and Eddie are both enby omegas who grow up really differently. Steve thinks he’ll be an Alpha, Eddie is unsure of himself. They’re strangers.
One day Eddie finds a jacket in the lost and found. All he knows is that the jacket smells like home. It’s this comforting combination of sweet vanilla, bitter cocoa, burning wood, and a hint of chlorine—like hugging someone who was just in a pool.
He takes the jacket, unable to put it back. Figures nobody will notice anyway. He stuffs it into his backpack. Once he’s home and alone, the jacket starts to smell like other things—it smells like sex.
Eddie has never had sex but he feels it in his stomach, the feeling of wanting, craving, sharing spit. The image of tangled bodies covered in sweat.
He’s hard before he even registers it’s happening.
He puts the jacket on, stretches out on his bed and shoves a shaky hand down his pants. It doesn’t take long before he cums with a soft whine.
Then the homey smell is back. It reminds him to take care of himself. He drinks a glass of water, takes a thorough shower, and listens to some music. He feels calm for the first time in a while.
The next day, he goes to school with the jacket in his backpack. He waits until after school to put it on, sitting underneath the bleachers to smoke. Suddenly he hears footsteps and then a very disgruntled Steve Harrington is standing above him, arms crossed.
Eddie feels small, looking up at him, taking a drag of his cigarette, and letting the smoke out slowly. He watches Steve track his movements.
Steve’s tone is biting and unfriendly when he speaks. “Hey Munson, what the fuck are you doing with my jacket?”
Eddie stands up, stammers out something along the lines of “It was in the lost and found, I didn’t mean to,” and tosses the jacket back to Steve.

Steve takes the jacket from Eddie and is hit with a wave of unfamiliar scents—smoke and rain soaked pavement, black coffee, dry leaves and earthy soil. Steve knows this must be what Eddie smells like. But what’s worse is that he likes it. It’s heady and intense.
He stares at Eddie who is standing there awkwardly holding his cigarette. He looks flushed and his eyes are wide. Steve can tell he’s nervous, almost like he can smell it on his skin.
He has the sudden urge to comfort Eddie, to wrap him in the jacket and hold him close.
Instead, he runs from him. He doesn’t stop until he’s home, only then realizing that he left his car at school. He has a vice grip on the jacket. All he can think of is the way Eddie looked wearing it.
The way it fit him—slightly big but fuck he looked so cute.
He’s never said or even thought the words “cute” and “Eddie Munson” in the same sentence. But there’s a first time for everything, he supposes. He’s rock hard, imagining Eddie in nothing but the jacket. He can practically hear the noises he would make, almost like a memory.
Steve locks himself in his room and climbs onto his bed. He’s never felt like this. So out of control and yet so confident in what he wants.
He shoves the jacket between his legs, flipping over to grind down against the material and roll his hips into the bed. It doesn’t take long for him to cum, and he has to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from saying Eddie’s name out loud.
He rolls onto his back, panting hard. His mouth tastes metallic. It’s blood, from how hard he bit himself. He doesn’t give a fuck about that.
Apparently, he does give a fuck about Eddie Munson.
He thinks maybe it’s just a one time thing—pent up sexual frustration that he needed to release.
But deep down, he knows it isn’t. He can feel a slow but steady heat running through his veins.
He can feel Eddie.

These are both fics that I started working on in the past few months, but had to put on hold because I didn’t have much time to write. They’re both currently at very similar stages and now that I do have time to write, I can’t decide which I want to finish writing first! Vote to help me decide please? Rough summaries of each of them are under the cut if anyone wants more details. :)
Fake dating fic:
Louis has been single for years, but his friends (Zayn, Liam, Niall, and Lewis) always annoy him, saying he’s the only single one in their friend group and needs to find a boyfriend. To get them off his back once and for all, he lies and tells people he’s dating someone, keeping details very vague and not even giving them a name on the account of the relationship being very new still. A few weeks later, Liam invites them all to a fully paid couples retreat he got through his work, and his friends insist Louis bring his new boyfriend along (it is a couples retreat after all). Enter Harry, one of Louis’ coworkers, who volunteers to be his fake boyfriend for the weekend.
Untraditional A/B/O courting fic:
Louis is a boisterous, loud, confident Omega, and he’s not ashamed of it despite what society has to say about it. Harry is the shy, reserved Alpha that moves into the flat across from Louis’. It only takes a few ecounters between them for Louis to decide to ignore typical traditions and court him.

staring into space as I realize this chapter is going to be like 8k
#post-kamino through Overhaul is a HUGE chunk of time to cover#but the problem is that if I split it in half then literally nothing will happen in the first half and too much will happen in the second#so it's one chapter#on the bright side I've decided how to address the ''pack dynamics'' part of a/b/o#because i personally am not into the rigid roles inside a pack#basically in my universe that's an archaic traditionalist system and almost nobody uses it#except for one group who we KNOW is already very into tradition: the yakuza (namely the shie hassaikai)#BUT as we all know many members aren't happy with how overhaul disregards yakuza tradition on the regular#so in my story their pack leader is unusually an omega with his alpha mate (kurono) happily taking a wholly subservient role#as both Overhaul's mate and one of his right hands [the other is mimic]#they and the 8 bullets are also all overhaul's left hands#it's very untraditional for them to hold dual roles as both peacekeepers/advisors and violent enforcers#especially since kurono is also the pack leader's mate#idk i saw a tumblr post with short and simple pack dynamics and i thought it would work for my story#since the central group in the story (The League) doesn't use them at all

It’s been crazy five weeks since I returned to writing fanfiction at full speed so I figured it’s time to highlight all the ghoap fics I wrote so far, in case anyone is interested in checking out my work. Tertiary genders in miscecanis
Let’s get basic:
primary gender— man, woman, nonbinary, agender, etc
secondary gender— alpha, beta, omega, dynamifluid, binamic, etc
tertiary gender— sigma, zeta, delta, gamma (or more if you like, but these are the ones I’m familiar with)
What’s a tertiary gender?
It’s an extra flavor on a dynamic/secondary gender, or, some identify with this AS their dynamic rather than a secondary gender
Think of dynamic like your central a/b/o identity. For example, some miscecanis see their dynamic as beta and to get more specific, delta. Some wouldn’t call themselves a beta at all and only feel at home with the label delta.
What are the tertiary genders?
Gamma: between alpha and omega, or an alpha with omega tendencies
Delta: between alpha and beta, could be an alpha with beta tendencies or vice versa
Zeta: between omega and beta, could be a beta with omega tendencies or vice versa
Sigma: between omega and alpha, or an omega with alpha tendencies
A note on tertiary genders:
There isn’t one right way to find your way in miscecanis. If you are an alpha who has omega tendencies, you don’t HAVE to call yourself a gamma, for example. You’re certainly welcome to, but you can just be an untraditional alpha! And that’s great too :)
If you’re struggling to pick a dynamic, also consider dynamiqueer identities! For example having a fluid dynamic or more than one. Maybe considering yourself transdynamic resonates with you and that’s cool too

This fest focuses on UNTRADITIONAL a/b/o dynamics. This can mean alpha/alpha, omega/omega or anything such as dom omega/sub alpha. Because it's specific to a/b/o... You can't enter with a fic about just dom/sub. Nor can you enter with a run of the mill alpha/omega fic. That's literally the opposite of what we want.
Any pairings will be accepted if at least 1 member of One Direction is involved. We will be reblogging fic posts, etc, so try to make the pairing well known for your readers.
We will start accepting prompt posts, etc right now. If you have any little thoughts/ideas go ahead anr post them! We will be tracking the tag "1duntraditionalabofest" so use that!

I have an idea for a potential new Parksborn/Dark Irondad fic, and it has A/B/O in it, but non traditional, sort of. I need help deciding Harry's status.
Anyway, I have this idea, and I don't wanna say too much about it plotwise yet, however the dynamic of Peter and Harry is relatively important for their relationship. So I'll talk a bit about that, there is a poll at the end. I'd appreciate at least having ppl let me know which of the a/b/o options/concepts for Harry Osborn they'd prefer reading about.
Peter's dynamic is set in stone. He is an omega, but he is an oddity, there hasn't been an omega like him before. He doesn't experience the 'head empty only smutty time' mindset that omegas typically have. Instead, it's like he gets a period, but it's just slick and he experiences little to no excitement. He does however display great strength like a typical alpha and his emotions can spiral if he isn't careful. He does display some typical omega traits like wanting frequent affection from his parents (his alpha dads Steve & Bucky), and being comfortable and even pleased at times with their protective and doting attitudes towards him.
I won't talk about that further, I'll leave it for when I get around to uploading the fic on ao3. I'll post a link to it on my blog when I do. For anyone interested it will be dark irondad vaguely inspired by Prodigal Son. I haven't seen it, as it isn't available on any streaming platforms I have, but I've looked into the dynamic Martin and Malcolm have, that is what got me interested in the first place. I found it through a post on here actually, I'll be tagging/linking them for the inspo when I get round to posting about the fic.
So, this is where I was hoping for some input. It is a parksborn fic and I like having Harry being a simp for Peter. What I'm struggling with is deciding what his dynamic is going to be because I am leaning towards them having an 'untraditional' relationship as far as a/b/o worlds go.
To help give a better picture of their relationship, at least regarding Peter, while he is an omega he is by no means 'biologically normal' by the standard of society. It isn't a bad thing, just 'weird' and 'baffling' to them, meanwhile Peter is not bothered by it, instead, he welcomes it. He would be kind and tender hearted as he usually is, which fits the sterotypical omega list of traits, but he will be prone to experiencing some mood swings (these won't always be obvious). He experiences his emotions strongly and a bit erratically. He views them critically and analytically this is primarily because of his job and a habit of repressing himself. Some alphas might feel intimidated by his differences (bcs insecure men always are), and some alphas might think by some of his behaviours and mannerisms that he is an alpha.
The thing about Peter though is that he is will be deceptive in apperence. He would seem warm and welcoming, he dresses up a bit (not much though), he probably does skin care and looks after himself, and he keeps his hair long (I can imagine Tom's wavyish curls, are they called curls, if not what should I call the texture?). However, despite his inviting appearence it can actually be a weapon of sorts to manipulate those around him. Peter isn't bad in this fic, to him he is just trying to survive in a world where omegas are few, fetishied, occationally mistreated, and underestimated. So, what is an omega like him to do when he seemingly has an advantage? He uses it. So, he subtly manipulates everyone he comes in contact with if he deems it necessary, behaving in a way that is authentic to himself but appeals to the outsiders view of a 'good' omega. He doesn't want to be restricted or limited by others, so for him what he does is helping him survive in a world that isn't made for him to succeed. But I can see how it might come across that he could be morally grey and maybe he is...a little..deep deep down.
He can use his pheremones/scent more effectively too, it is kind of like a dr*g he can cast in the air to calm people to the point it manipulates their perception of what is going on. So, angry alphas in the room? Peter puts out a calming scent or one of hurt and sadness that is strong enough to have those alphas become distracted and decide to comfort him instead of arguing. They might even forget why they were fighting or suddenly dismiss the importance the conversation might have held. I imagine that he would have practised this a lot with Stucky, haha. Basically Peter is kinda 'biologically' enhanced in some aspects. With Harry in the picture, Peter would be analysing him, thinking over the best way to navigate him, and uh, yeah, act accordingly. Harry would prefer Peter at his most authentic, that is the whole reason he gets so attracted to him in the first place. He likes how Peter is, no masking, no manipulations, no pretending, just Peter as his lovable, chaotic, maybe mentally ill self. Now that is love.
No matter what Harry will be, he will be facinated by how different Peter is and is attracted to his more authorative-ish (?) nature. I'm not saying they'd be in a dom/sub kind of thing. They're both kind of different, or at least Peter wakes up something kinda feral in him that is like "yeah, this one, this is my man, and I'm gonna stand beside him". Harry will have an obssesion with Peter. Maybe he got addicted to Peter's scent, or maybe he was exposed to too high of a dose in a short time, or maybe they're fated mates like Harry will believe they are. He'll just need to convince and 'prove' to Peter that they are, which will be something, ha. When they do get together though they'll be cute and kinda weird, but its fine bcs they're them yk.
That was long winded, but I wanted some context for how Harry was gonna be paried up with Peter and what Peter will be like. I'm struggling to decide which of the options in the poll I prefer more.

Last Line/Snippet
Thanks to the lovely @allwaswell16 @lunarheslwt and @disgruntledkittenface for tagging me to share the last line from my WIP. This is from an untraditional A/B/O courting fic I’m very slowly working on, except when I opened the document, I noticed the actual last line was a singular italicized “oh” lol, so I’ve decided to give you a slightly longer snippet.
Louis is sat at the dining table eating a late lunch when Niall walks in with a smug smile on his face.
That’s never a good sign for Louis.
“You’re courting him, aren’t you?” Niall asks as soon as he sees Louis in the kitchen.
Louis pauses mid-chew. “What? Courting who?”
To his knowledge, he hasn’t actually asked anyone if he could court them. He’s like 99% certain he’d remember if he had.
“Harry,” Niall says like it’s the most obvious answer in the world. “I just saw him in the hallway, smiling down like a fucking lunatic at a plant with a sticky note that clearly had your awful handwriting on it.”
Oh.
