Even in nonbinary spaces, I see people holding onto binarism. They say "You can be masculine, feminine, both, or in between!" But what about experiences outside of those concepts? What about people who are neither? Not masc or fem or even in between? What about those who are far outside of that? I want to see more inclusion of outherine, xenic, abinary, and unaligned members of the community, and I know they really want and need to be heard. Let's listen to their experiences too!

Tired and Unaligned

Maybe its the fact that im about to be on my period or maybe im just genuinely overwhelmed by the high pitched sound of my toddlers voice. I know you are thinking that this is harsh and how “unmotherly” it is for me to feel this way but it is the truth. Dont get me wrong, I love my daughter, shes literally my life, but my patience and my “ happy go lucky “ mom meter runs dry when hit with the constant, non stop talking. And when I say non stop I mean non stop talking with conviction demanding to be engaged with or else she will just repeat herself over and over and over and over again. Not leaving any time for you to have a thought of your own. Being unable to even think in your own home is miserable. I swear this is legit torture. But you know toddlers are selfish like that. They the lack self control, empathy, and the awareness to do otherwise. This is what I know and what keeps me grounded. Im sure she doesn’t want to be actively and intentionally torturing me, I know that she just cant help it and for a 4 year old life is wild, and cool and fun with a million things to chat about. So I suffer in silence and vow to never make her feel how I feel on the inside when shes demanding my attention every moment of every day. I hope that on the outside I look as engaged as she needs me to be. But if its not one thing its another and still im overwhelmed. This morning I woke up feeling incredibly aligned, ready to start a diet and get my shit together but here I am at 7pm self loathing and drinking a beer. Ill try again tomorrow.
