twitter stop fucking up for one second challenge (impossible)

well,

here’s the thing. it feels like social media is changing lately. every social media site seems to be fucking up or getting worse in its own special little way. i recently read and thought a lot about this article which coins the term “enshittification” and describes the process by which every social media platform eventually becomes so greedy as to become unusable. it makes me wonder if the social internet is due for a big shift in the near future.

for a long time, twitter was the best place for me. for all its issues, it had the audience that i could reach the easiest, that was the most invested in my art. i got (still get) a lot of awesome replies and really great analysis of my work on twitter, which i didn’t receive on any other platform. i was able to encourage those readers by retweeting their comments and theories to show that i liked hearing their thoughts. i could use the Moments feature to organize my art and make my comic easily readable in order. and anyone could look at my twitter, account or no.

ever since the site was bought out, twitter is getting worse. i can’t use the app on mobile anymore because every reply section is drowned out by blue checks and choked with ads. the Moments feature was disabled and people couldn’t easily read my comics in order anymore. and this is without even touching on the bigger/more serious issues the buyout has brought to the app. these are just the ways it has made my personal experience of being an artist on there worse. and now, apparently, you can’t even look at my work unless you have an account.

it’s been pretty common in the past year for the new management to implement a bad feature and then undo it after backlash, and maybe this too will be reversed. but even if it is unimplemented, the platform will continue to get worse. all platforms are getting worse right now. all of them are becoming untenable to use without 7 bespoke browser extensions to block ads, hide specific unwanted content, force chronological order, and so on. on mobile i don’t even bother. apps are unusable.

on top of that, i have the personal issue of not being the type of creator who is particularly good at staying on top of more than one or two platforms daily. twitter has been my main for years now, so i’m pretty good about updating it very regularly. instagram is trailing behind, i usually remember to post there daily (especially as i’m remaking mine right now and posting my entire backlog) but sometimes i forget. and that’s kind of my limit. every other site falls by the wayside because i just don’t want to spend my whole day or life updating platforms. i know there are tools that can do it automatically for you but i don’t want to do it that way and then i’d have to figure out a new tool and get yet another account on yet another app and install yet another extension to use it.

i just want to draw. i don’t know how we arrived at this place where we need to be 700 other things when we are just artists. i draw and write, isn’t that enough? if i wanted a presence on tiktok i’d also have to be a video editor who pays close attention to trends and makes sure to transform my artwork into something people on that app are interested in. even if i just wanted to have a strong presence on say, twitter/instagram/tumblr/tapas/webtoon i’d have to take on another (unpaid) job as my own social media manager, meticulously managing my uploads across 5+ apps and making sure everything is up to date and tailored to what “works” on each particular platform. i already have a day job—i’m a storyboard artist. the art i post online is supposed to be made and given freely for my own enrichment first and foremost, and for the joy of sharing with others as a close second.

i wonder if we’re due for a mass rejection of this increasingly draining cable-wars-style model of spreading ourselves thin across multiple platforms just to reach the exclusive audience each one provides. i’m starting to feel done with that concept, but i still want to share my art. i want to hear my readers’ thoughts. i want to create things that connect with others. i want to do it without these ever-mounting obstacles.

what i’m doing about it is creating my own website at my own domain that belongs to me. i doubt i’ll be quitting social media when it’s done. social media is still where the audience i cherish lives. but you can bet that when that website is ready to be shared, i’ll be talking about it on every social media account i own. i’ll be telling everyone there’s a place to look at my art where you don’t need an account, you don’t have to struggle through a morass of ads, and you don’t have to line the pockets of a billionaire who bought a social media app on a whim. it’ll just be you and my art. alone together.

by the way, to @whatthehelljake i apologize for writing a fucking SAT essay on a screenshot of your reply. any exasperated tone here is not directed at you at all. it’s directed at this sea of obstacles that disrupt the simple concept of “i made art and i want to share it with you.” your reply is how i found out today that twitter made this change. i cherish the fact that you want to connect with my art so much that you alerted me to this. i wish that wasn’t necessary. i want to make my work on my own terms—and want you to be able to experience it on YOUR own terms.

all that to say, i think the website is going to be the main answer to this issue. i don’t see myself having the energy to update tumblr that much more often than i already do, though maybe i’ll try to pick up the pace a little now. we’ll see. holy shit if you read all this go drink a glass of water or something get up and stretch. ok thank you bye <3

osamu dazai believed that someone like him didn’t deserve blessings. willingly, he’s manipulated, tortured, and killed his enemies. his blood was as black as the crimes he had committed in the past. it stained his soul, never able to go away. there was no one more tainted than him.

however, you walked into his life and for a brief moment, he forgot about his polluted mind.

as fairytale as it seemed, you didn’t see him how he was used to being seen— cold-blooded, ruthless, and or mysterious. though, you didn’t know of his past as a port mafia executive. in your eyes, he was just another man the same age as you. but for some reason, you let him stick around after figuring out his past.

on a day when love is celebrated, valentine’s day, dazai wondered why you loved him. why fall in love with a man that sits on top of a mountain of sins? he decided to ask you while you were both still laying in bed.

“why do i love you even though you did those horrible things?” you repeated, leaning further into your pillow. “hm, i won’t ever forget what you told me you did, just like the people who survived it won’t. just because you now work to help others also doesn’t erase what you’ve done. if i think about it, i still love you because of how the world works.”

dazai raised a brow, “how the world works?”

“mhm, you heard me. no one in the world is just born to be evil, their environment changes them to be. this applies to you, a human in this world. the people that controlled you back then made you this way, so i’m glad you got away from them. just like how an environment can push you to do bad things, it can push you to do good. i’m glad you found the agency because they’re all great people trying to do good in this world. some people can be surrounded by good and ignore it if they wanted, but you welcomed it into your life. just like your friend said, helping others is more beautiful, isn’t it?”

you lovingly pressed your forehead against dazai’s, your nose almost brushing his. your left hand snaked up from his arm to his cheek, caressing it softly.

“i don’t deserve you, love. hell, you don’t deserve to be with someone like me,” dazai said in a negative tone

when you first met dazai, you thought that he’d be cold, physically cold. so when you held his face in your hands and felt the warmth radiating off of him, it was safe to say you were a little surprised. you don’t know why, but the warmth he emitted made him even more human to you.

“why? you’re as every bit human as i am, are you not? no one can tell us what we do and do not deserve. don’t say you don’t deserve me just because of who you once were. just think about it now, osamu. i love you because you’re willing to change for the better.”

after you spoke those words, you finally pressed your lips against his. like a mantra, you repeated “i love you” as you gave him small kisses. after a while, he slid his hand behind your head and pulled you into his chest.

dazai held you close to him, his blessing in disguise.

honest question: how does one make friends on tumblr?

so obviously everyone is different and you can totally just dm a person and strike up a conversation but i am way too awkward to do that and tend to just do this elaborate courting ritual that i subconsciously developed after spending a decade on this fucking app

hit people with those “prev tags” and maybe add a little comment. “prev tags i thought the same exact thing omg” “prev tags how does it feel to be the funniest person on this website” you know that kind of thing. show your personality a little bit, establish what you have in common with the person, all good friendship tips

once you feel comfortable use their name. “prev tags hey claire what the fuck” etc. using someone’s name in the tags is like. like if this was a victorian courting using someone’s name is taking it from dancing at a party to calling upon their house. also people like it when you use their name it makes them feel special

like their personal posts! just in general like their posts even if you don’t want to reblog it. show you pay attention and care

reply to their posts! to use the victorian courting metaphor again, this is like. promenading with someone. like this is the precursor to proposing

Hi! I’m with your last anon- these past couple of days have been wild. And the coverage this is getting just keeps growing and growing. Different from previous ‘denials’ right? What’s going on. I feel like our space has been invaded (ha ha), and I’m not loving it. The theories on twitter are getting stranger and stranger which doesn’t help. I guess we just wait and see if he sells loads more tickets. Not loving the how though, feels intrusive, even after the initial shock has worn off.

the media coverage is… pretty wild. like… idk, it’s not as gross as it has been before after previous denials (some press posted some pretty gross manips and talked about fanfic in graphic detail) but it seems more… general? like… discussing why we think that as opposed to being insane? Idk, some of them are still pretty nasty, but it’s… interesting. This coverage just feels differently to me, idk.

But yeah, agreed. The Twitter theories are actually… wild. Like… it’s not 2 + 2 = 4 like Larry has always been and is meant to be, it’s like “hey this weird little design on Louis’ shorts leads back to the history of 1758 which a person named Larry had a distant cousin three times removed named Louis and his great great granddaughter had seven children, one of which was a lesbian who had a secret lover and they weren’t allowed to marry each other or be together but then they secretly adopted a son and named him harry and this is proof” like… what?

I mean, maybe not that outlandish, but along the lines of wildly reaching to a point that Louis and harry just wouldn’t think of. H has said before that he does put little clues in his promo, and sometimes people investigate so deeply they find coincidences which he didn’t mean to be there. And we know Larry do make hints for us and clues and keep us interested and all that, but… some of these theories that they SEE on twitter are genuinely just… out of this world and in know way match up, therefore dispelling prior evidence and making us look crazy. It’s annoying. I see a new one every day that makes me have to close the app.

I’m all for bluegreening (because they genuinely know what that means), and performing covers of songs they know we will draw back to Larry, and talking about each other in interviews, and a lot of other things… but like, the theories used to be so straight forward and proof. Half the shit on there isn’t proof.

Anyway, the press also go to twitter for Larry stuff. They mentioned chickengate in a bunch of interviews to this denial, which they wouldn’t know what that meant if they didn’t research. Tumblr just isn’t as big as it once was and is often ignored when it comes to this stuff. Idk, it’s just all a bit… too much.

We’ll see about those ticket sales, yeah. I mean, they have everyone talking about Larry again sooooo if it irritates you louis, don’t fucking talk about it and leave it alone hahahaha. It ain’t 2015, you’ve not been seen with him publicly in years. If they were seeding a friendship then sure, I’d expect this denial. But it’s a cold denial out of nowhere in an attempt to get louis more press and make him and his team sell more tickets and make more money.

Which apps do I use to learn languages?

YOUTUBE!

Languages I use it for: Nahuatlahtolli (mainly), Thai, recently subscribed to an Arabic and a Tagalog channel, and just for the cool linguistics / history of the languages.

DUOLINGO!

Languages I use it for: Hindi, Thai, and sometimes I dabble in the Hawaian and Diné Bizaad (Navajo) courses.

I was able to download an older version by going to https://old-duolingo.online/ and it made everything easier.

FUNEASYLEARN!

The bee app that isn’t beelingue. I really like it and has help me a lot with languages in other scripts. They have a series of games per topic so you get all the pacakge.

Languages I use it for: Hindi, Thai, and Arabic.

I was able to get the premium version by downloading the APK Premium Unlocked version.

MONDLY LANGUAGES!

What I love most about this app is the chatbot function. As someone who isn’t ready to dable into the most social of the language learning apss this is very cool.

I recently join a server for learners of native languages and is soo cool.

APRENDE NAHUATL!

A to be honest, interactive dictionary made by the INPI (National Institute of Indigenous Nations), with some grammar explanations.

What I really like is that it has a listening function, images and both classic and modern spelling.

Languages I use it for: Very obviously Nahuatlahtolli.

LANGUAGE TRANSFER!

A to be honest podcast! You get to hear to different lessons of a topic, what is cool is that the teacher knows what he’s talking about.

Languages I use it for: Arabic (egyptian)

MANGO LANGUAGES!

Also more focus on the listening/speaking aspect. It has a very nice breakdown of the languages and repetition.

LING!

What I like about the app is the conversation excercises, where you get to hear/read a conversation and then fill in the blanks.

I like to see the langblr posts because it gives me motivation to continue my language learning journey + a lot of great resources.

So You Want to Mod Sims 4

I love playing the Sims, but quite frankly I find the gameplay in Sims 4 to be a bit empty and lacking. The base game is now free, but expansion packs are ridiculously overpriced and still do not add enough to really pique my interest. So I dove into the world of Sims 4 modding, and would now like to share my findings with you!

My intention is to make this as a guide for people starting modding. I won’t get into the technical details, as there’s a wonderful guides for those in many places such as this one by CarlSims, and a beautiful troubleshooting guide by SimsAfterDark. I’m just going to provide some suggestions of mods for you to get an idea of what’s out there and what you might be interested in!

The Basics

The Sims 4 actually has a fantastic modding community. If you’ve never modded games before Sims 4 isn’t that hard to figure out, and there’s plenty of tools and guides to help you along the way. Sims 4 is now connected with Curseforge, which is an app that you can download mods from, but there are plenty other places to find mods such as Mod The Sims and The Sims Resource; lots of modders also have their own custom websites, tumblrs, or patreons that they post mods on. There are plenty of Discord servers too; Sims After Dark is an especially helpful hub for modding.

Because mods are adding or changing code in the game, it is possible that your game will break or have some errors or bugs. This is why it’s reccomended that you back up your saves before making any changes, and clear your cache (there’s even a wonderful free app for that!).

According to EA’s terms and services, mods cannot be permanently locked behind a pay wall. There may be early access for mods, and if you can financially support one of your favourite creators feel free! But you should never need to pay for a mod; if there is VIP access it will eventually be publicly released.

Game patches or updates can break mods, as they might not be compatible with the new code. If you’re downloading a mod that has not been touched in years you may want to double check with the creator or other modders to make sure it’s still functional. Scarlet’s Mod List is the best resource I’ve found, as it lists a TON of mods and whether they’re broken, and updates with every new patch. You can also keep an eye out for blog posts and discord announcements, as active modders will usually check their mods and ensure that they’re up to date. Always read the information modders provide about their mod, as sometimes it will require specific packs or other mods, or conflict with other mods. Never download an entire mod folder from somebody else, as it’s important to understand what you’re putting in your game to keep it running.

Despite these warnings I absolutely recommend looking into mods if you’re at all interested. It’s up to you whether you just want to download a few new hairstyles or completely overhaul the gameplay, but its a great way to have a unique and engaging gaming experience!

Getting Started - Utility Mods and Essentials

There are a few mods that are so commonly used among the entire modding community that it’s nearly impossible to not use them. And in most cases this is because they’re incredibly useful! Foremost among these is MCCC, or MC Command Centre. This mod is basically a back window into the code of your sims game. It will allow you to cheat nearly any setting imaginable, from the age to career to relationships to the needs of any of your sims, and even NPC sims. There’s a ton of functionality in this mod that can seem a bit intimidating at first, but honestly even the most basic understanding of this mod will allow you to greatly enhance your gameplay. It will automatically fix a lot of bugs and help your game run smoother, and even will create bug reports that can help you find broken mods!

Next up we have Scumbumbo’s XML Injector. The majority of mods that change ANY aspect of your game will require this one, as the functionality is essential for adding new code to your game! You won’t notice any differences if you just have this one installed, but if you try installing anything else that requires it this is essential to keep your game working.

If you’re planning on downloading a lot of mods, Better Exceptions by Twisted Mexi is a brilliant tool that will scan your mods and create a full error report. It can find duplicate mods, zip folders and other weird files, and flag mods that conflict with each other; it will also allow you to read the error code from your game, if you really want to dig into modding. The error reports are longer than the ones created by MCCC, but they’re more comprehensive and can be a huge help.

Have you noticed your Sims game running a little slower? While some extra loading time is to be expected if you have a lot of mods or packs, there are also some very dumb bugs in the heart of the game code. If you’re fed up with your sims getting stuck and freezing, you need Turbodriver’s Simulation Unclogger. This mod is designed to stop a sim getting stuck and freezing the rest of the game, and I can’t imagine playing without it.

There are lots of smaller mods that add utility to your game when combined with other mods, like frankk’s pack tests and SashaT1804′s custom channel injector and MAL22′s Trait Tracker Injector, to name a few. You should ONLY download these mods if a creator instructs you it’s needed for their mod. Some creators will also have core libraries that contain code used in several of their mods, in which case you’ll need to download that to make sure everything functions. Always read the instructions before you download a mod to make sure you have everything you need!

All the mods listed here are fairly important to gameplay, and thus may have errors or break with patches BUT will also be very quickly updated, because so many modders depend on them! Unless it’s the day of a patch you can usually count on these mods to be up to date and compatible with your Sims 4 game.

CAS and BB: The Wonderful World of CC

Likely the easiest bunch of mods to install and maintain, there are a lot of mods that simply add Custom Content (CC) into your game. This can be anything from new hairstyles to new skin colours and eye colours, to new outfits and accessories, to furniture and toys and new wallpaper colours. You can find CC for nearly any kind of aesthetic or look, and CC also rarely breaks with patches so it can be easy to keep it all working smoothly. To help your CC adventures, here’s some commonly used terms:

Meshes make up the shape of every object you see in the Sims 4! Some CC will add a new mesh, such as a new hat or beanbag chair, but some will simply recolour an existing mesh, like adding new hair colours to base game hairs. These new colours and appearances are called swatches, and you can see them in game from all the different colour options! When you’re downloading CC it’s important to ensure that you have the required mesh. Some CC has the mesh included, or edits a basegame mesh, while some CC requires certain packs because they use the mesh from that pack. Some CC is designed to work with a mesh from a different creator, and simply adds different swatches to it; you will need to download both for the CC to work. Missing meshes will look very broken; fortunately it’s just a cosmetic error and is easy to spot and remove.

Alpha is an art style for CC that looks more realistic, and Maxis Match refers to the in game art style of the Sims 4. You can use whatever suits your preference, and even mix and match if you’d like! Many creators will specialize in one type of CC, so if you see them talking about “alpha hairs” or “MM shoes” this is what they mean. Alpha CC can sometimes have a high poly count, which basically means that it’ll be harder for your computer to run. While installing any mods you should be careful to not overtax your computer, and removing alpha CC and high poly CC can be an easy way to speed things up. But if your system can handle it go wild!

Some creators who make fantastic sets include Harrie, Syboulette, Dudley’s Trailer, marsmerizingsims, SIXAMCC, Peacemaker, amoebae, The Plumbob Tea Society, simkoos, and littledica, to name a few! There are literally hundreds of talented CC creators, so I encourage you to look around and see who you can find; I’ve literally just linked a few at the top of my bookmarks but I am absolutely missing some of my favourites, so please just take this as a starting point.

There can also be CC that will add entirely new interactions and animations to your game! This CC can come with other mods and is slightly more likely to need updates to patches, but also can add a lot. Pandasama has plenty of toys for toddlers and kids, Ravasheen has created everything from functional elevators to newspaper stands to vending machines, Cepzid With Hakrabr has barbells and a stun gun, and Mercuryfoam has functional ballet bars (along with smaller mods that will add interactions like slow dancing and hopscotch). If you want more historical gameplay JaneSimsten has a playable harp, archery, and functional hairbrushes. For more food options amellce and Littlbowbub are my favourite options, but you can even overhaul the whole cooking system with something like Srsly’s Complete Cooking Overhaul or BrazenLotus’s mods.

A particular category of CC I enjoy are called overrides, which will change an in game resource to act in a new way. You can only have one override per object, so be careful that you don’t install multiples. IlexSims has an entire series of mods that add functionality to basegame objects like toothbrush holders, shower caddies, decorative bookshelves, and even insects, fish, and frogs that you can feed and interact with. And if you’re tired of your sims standing in a void while you’re styling them, there are plenty of CAS backgrounds up for download; I’m currently using one by littledica but there’s so many options for you to choose from. As with any overrides, only install one at a time!

Default is how some things like skin tones and eyes are described, which means they will override the basegame version. Someone-elsa’s soulmate eyes are particularly stunning; you can also get EmmeSims’s baby skins and onesies, Keth’s Freckles, or EachUisge’s Werewolf Legs. There are even Luumia’s height sliders and various other sliders that will allow you to change the look of your sim from their hands to their ears to their neck! Some of these mods will allow you to make drastic changes to your Sims that could lead to animations clipping, or your computer might have a hard time loading your game, but you can really make your Sims look entirely different and have a lot of fun doing so.

Making it Easier (or Harder) - Game Fixes and Changes

One step above CC is mods that alter or change Sims 4 gameplay. These mods can fix bugs, add traits and interactions, add aspirations and careers, and fine tune sim autonomy and relationships. These mods have a greater chance of breaking with different patches, but also can really enhance your gameplay. Whenever there’s a new patch introduces a new game-breaking bug, like the HSY patch bug that broke games saving, chances are there’s a modder who will have a bug fix freely available within the next twenty four hours! This modding community is truly fantastic.

LittleMsSam has a huge collection of mods, ranging from letting toddlers spawn in parks to giving your kids the ability to walk dogs to overhauling the in game nanny, butler, and gardener to be more useful and less frustrating! You can also download mods that will make it harder to dig rocks, or add autonomous jogging, or let kids have a crush and find their first love. I personally cannot play without her high chair fix that makes it far less frustrating to play with toddlers.

Bienchen also has a lot of tweaks that can improve your game, from autonomous first kisses to adding more quick snacks to the fridge to disabling popups you might find annoying. Some of these tweaks are small but really help develop gameplay, such as the pregnancy conversations and the customizable family photo, really make Sims feel more alive.

Wonderful Whims by Turbodriver is THE mod for enhancing romance and relationships in this game. This adds a menstrual cycle and fertility, an attraction system with first impressions, and even adds sweat when your sims work out! There’s also a more nsfw version, Wicked Whims, which is similarly customizable. My favourite thing about this mod is how everything is truly an opt in situation, so if I don’t want to deal with birth control or the crabs STD I can simply turn off or edit those settings. There are a lot of creators who make mods that work well with WW, such as adding traits or new interactions within the WW system.

Lumpinou’s RPO is also a mod that overhauls sim relationships; it adds lots of settings that aren’t specifically centred around romance, like a new adoption and surrogacy system, an overhauled divorce and custody system, and new family preferences and reactions to new additions to the family. She also has some other fantastic mods that can give your sims talents and weaknesses, make conversations more affected by context, and even give your sims psychic abilities!

Chingyu has one of the most comprehensive collection of new traits I’ve ever seen, along with plenty of options to add or change traits, or even have your sims inherit traits. Other modders with many interesting traits and interactions include maplebell, triplis, KiaraSims4Mods, Kuttoe, and YourFalseHope.

If you’re feeling like your gameplay is getting old, there are also mods that will add entirely new challenges to overcome. Lot51 will allow you to add an entire heating, cooling, and plumbing system to the game, as well as a wifi system, doorbells, alarm clocks, and bug infestations. frankk has created a mod that will introduce different language barriers to your sims game. Waffle’s Mix Ins will allow you to overhaul werewolves or plantsims, and adeepindigo has a downloadable health care system, education overhaul, and a wedding mod, all base game compatible!

What if you really want to add chaos to your game? ShinoNox has some regular careers and also some tweaks like an arsonist trait. NC4T is maintaining the lifetime aspirations mod, which makes the aspiration system similar to older sims games with one difficult aspiration, and also creating mods that will allow your sim to be a burglar or pickpocket. Natethel0ser has a fantastic milestones mod that adds memories, and also Misery Traits to give your sims dry skin, asthma, and all sorts of insecurities.

A few honorable mentions I’ll refrain from linking are Basemental’s mods, which add drugs and gangs and are absolutely 18+, and Sacrificial’s mods, which do have some tuning errors but are also the best way to add an unprecedented degree of murder and chaos to your game.

In Conclusion

As long as this list seems I promise this is barely scratching the surface of Sims 4 mods. Of course not every mod on this list is for everybody, and there are plenty I’ll only use in one particular save file or situation. I advise that you use caution when using some of the more impactful mods, like the mods adding mental illness and more mean interactions; you know your limits and are responsible for keeping yourself safe and healthy when it comes to downloading mods. You can choose to add these things, and you can also choose to only engage with smaller mods or none at all. That choice is what I really enjoy about Sims 4, and I hope that by making this list I can help others enjoy it too.

This is only possible thanks to the amazing mod community in Sims 4. Please do not harass creators or demand they create mods or update old mods; they are usually doing this for free, and modding is a labour of love that we should be grateful for. I do encourage you to make your own lists of favourite mods, or leave comments for the creators about what you enjoy, or post CC screenshots and share links to your favourite discoveries! shion has this really bad habit of scribbling new song lyrics & lines of poetry he thinks of on literally anything he can get his hands on. this includes the whites on his sneakers, the corners of old newspapers, the palms of his hands, the notes app in his phone, & sometimes even the backside of important paperwork the company gives him. it bums him out so bad whenever he forgets what pops into his brain, so anytime inspiration hits him like a ton o’ bricks, he needs to write it down & carries at least one pen with him at all times.

on his pages, i’ve described him has “slow-paced” many times, & there’s a reason for that. he will never rush to do anything, no matter how important it is. he’s a firm believer in slow & steady wins the race — acting more like a tortoise, but resembling a hare... i see you, shion — & takes his sweet time with everything. whether it’s getting ready in the morning, eating his dinner, learning a song, or even cleaning his side of the dorm, he works sluggishly. things will get done, & his work will often be great, but he does it on his own terms.

branching off from above, he can be somewhat stubborn & stuck in his ways. he takes a long time to make decisions & that’s because he puts way too much thought into them, but once his mind is made up, it rarely changes. if people disagree with him, he’s comfortable with that as he’s patient enough to hear out & respect different povs, but he’s not known to budge from his opinions. this has gotten him into some light trouble in the past, but nothing major.

shion is a huuuuge sucker for romance, & themes of all types of romance, love, passion, heartbreak, etc. are explored in his poems & lyrics. however, the kicker here is that he’s never actually been in a relationship himself. ╥﹏╥ it’s something he’s always wanted, but ya know — being a gay kid in japan ( & now in south korea ) isn’t easy, & his shyness works against him here, too. he daydreams about what it’s like to have a boyfriend all the time, & his sweet little heart falls for people very easily. he’s kinda pathetic in a way, but it’s outta his control.

really, he’s still very young & he’s very much still figuring himself out, & he’s making mistakes, & learning lessons, & flopping, & failing, & basically doing literally everything he should be doing at his age, & i’m just here to help him grow in this verse. if your muse wants to take part in his journey in anyway — like literally anyway i mean that; the good, the bad, & the ugly, i want it all — lmk & we can figure it out together ! (*>ω<*)

i love the idea of shion having a found family, if you will. people in his life who he’s not related to, but who feel like sisters, & brothers, & cousins, etc. those he can lean on if he needs a breather from training, those he can cheer up when they’re feeling upset, & those who can help him become the person he’s meant to be. if your muse has, like, parental instincts, even, they could just “adopt” shion as their own, like ig it, he is pretty babie in the grand scheme of things. (⋟﹏⋞) gimme gimme !

as it’s a dream of his to become a main ( or lead ) vocal of a k-pop boy group someday, shion wants to make sure that his efficiency with the korean language is up-to-par, especially his pronunciation while singing. he knows it’s crucial to have clear diction, & since korean isn’t his native tongue, he’s really leaned on your muse to pick up the basics. he’s very patient & will take these lessons seriously, but you’ll have to forgive him if he nods off from time-to-time. maybe this could even turn into real friendship !

maybe your muse & shion got into an argument when they were working on something together, & ever since that moment, things have never really been the same. shion is admittedly really awful with confrontation, & his stubbornness can sometimes make him hotheaded if he does lose his patience. it’s rare that he does, but it happens once in a blue moon. to make the scenario more broad, the point of this is that i think it’d be great for shion to have some conflict in his life. it’ll be interesting to see how he responds, so if you have other ideas for how this could happen, lmk. up for anything !

i would adooore for shion to have a big dopey crush on someone (─‿‿─)♡ this also doesn’t have to turn into anything deep, i just think it’d be fun for him to think the world of someone in that way, & write silly songs/poems about them, & be all (´♡‿♡`) when they’re around. feelings could be mutual, not returned, or it could even end in some kinda confession/heartbreak scenario, like, idc... give him something to write ab, please ! literally begging you rn, #shameless ! c’monnnn just think of how cute it’d be...

other japanese muses that remind him of home would be awesome tbh. he’d love being able to be homesick with them, & think about their childhoods, & dip into some good ol’ fashioned nostalgia here & there. maybe they can go out to traditional japanese restaurants in the city whenever they can or something cute like that, too; bond over shared cultures & stuff !

can i just….say something real quick? i gotta rant & talk to myself so i can regulate my emotions and this isn’t hate towards anyone or anyone’s content it’s just. how i feel….. abt being a writer on here sometimes

i hate it here. i really do. and i know countless others have felt the same way i have and folks have deactivated, archived their blog or even stopped writing entirely bc of the environment on here when it comes to recognition and acknowledgment

i already know that some people would argue that “you gotta write for yourself and no one else” and that is true— i do write for my own enjoyment and i love the feeling of putting a story together and see it coming together in real time and i like when the people i share my ideas/fics with are just as excited and enthusiastic abt it as i am bc it makes me and my efforts feel seen y’know ? and of course this most definitely applies to when you post a fic on tumblr.

i wanna preface with the fact that i am not trying to seem ungrateful because i REALLY TRULY love and appreciate every single one of you guys who comment and reblog (with words), or text me directly about my work bc it makes me feel so nice about myself. like “wow you thought i and my content was good enough you went the extra mile to let me know and share it with others via the algorithm??? this is great”. and that inspires me even further to keep writing the things i want

and speaking of ideas, the reason i even felt compelled to yap about this is because …..it dawned on me (again) after scrolling on my dash that only certain types of blogs and the work they post get recognition and acclaim from the masses and that makes me sad. i could write about generally the same trope with the same character in the same fandom with the same tags, but my fic would get crumbs over the course of several weeks or months because it would be longer than what people usually post here. or it would portray that character in a way that isn’t popular. or because i went in depth and made it poetic or nuanced. or because there happened to be little to no vivid smut. or because the plot was unique and different.

i’m doing the same thing as everyone else and yet…..idk. sometimes it’s astonishing to see that a fic that falls into those specific categories could have been posted for literally DAYS. 72 hours even. and it has dozens of thousands of notes on it and people are flocking telling them how emotive they were after reading. which is fine and dandy bc everyone deserves praise and recognition for their work and for it to be shared with others. but sometimes i doubt that sentiment even applies to me because it shows…..it definitely shows

cause what is even the point. i don’t wanna feel like i have to dilute and water down and change my writing style just for this silly little app but….idk

preferred comms —I mostly start off on Tumblr, due to the fact that I have had people harass me in the past on Discord. Therefore, I will gauge and see if we click well, and if asked, I will provide my discord. This is just for my comfort.

name of muse —I'm a multi-muse account, having muses from Ffxiv all the way to Resident Evil. For the moment, my must-active muses are my FFXIV ones, preferably Stella, Hiroto, Hikari, Y'shtola, and G'raha, with other Canon characters too, but those ones are the most loud right now. If anyone is interested in interacting, I did redo my career with all the messages I currently have motivation to write for.

experience in RP —I started RPing when I was 21, I think. It started off mainly in a different app, but due to various reasons, I stopped for a bit before coming back to Twitter. Eventually, this led me to Tumblr, where I have been writing for about 11 years now. Although I have been writing since I was really young, it was not in the RP style. I have been working on writing characters since I was really young.

best experiences — Probably the best experiences that I have had this year have been with these two sweethearts. It’s not often that you find people who actually enjoy hanging out outside of RP. They make the same effort as you to spend time together and genuinely listen to you gush about your characters. They have sincerely made my year a lot better, and I am thankful for them each and every day. The laughter we share brings a much-needed light to a challenging year. I also just feel like being able to focus more on original characters has been so much fun too. In the past, I was mainly getting requests for canon characters only, so it feels nice that people want to interact with characters that I have built so much lore into.

pet peeves / dealbreakers —I think my best pet peeve is people's vague postings. It’s one of my rules that I will soft-block or block if I see people doing this. I also do not appreciate pushing ships. Just because I have a dynamic with a close friend and you might be writing the same character doesn’t mean that you will also get the same dynamic. Each dynamic I have with other people is something I have discussed and worked on. I am a slow-burn type of person, so I want to see those characters relationships develop over time. Keep in mind that I have rules for shipping, which are on my carrd too.

The last thing I can think of is just guilt-tripping to reply to a certain thread. Sometimes I only have inspiration for certain threads, and that shouldn’t be seen as a problem. This is a place to have fun, not a job. I’ve been made to feel bad about taking too long to reply to threads before, and honestly, being pressured to reply isn’t going to make me answer it sooner.

muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ) —I honestly prefer fluff and angst over anything. Anyone who’s written with me for a bit knows that I love combining the two. Not all the time, of course; a balance is needed, but if I had to pick ones that are more my style and what I prefer to write, it’s those two. Emotions are honestly a huge thing that I try to focus on, and these two are perfect for conveying that. It does take me a bit to reply to more angsty threads, though, depending on the context, because it sometimes takes a lot more energy to respond to them.

plot or memes —I like either one; memes are a great way to let me know you are interested in writing with me. I do enjoy plotting, though, as certain meme starters can eventually lead to developing dynamics between muses. So if you're nervous about talking to me, send in a meme starter from those that I reblogged. Please keep in mind that some are for ship partners only, but I do reblog ones for platonics and such too.

Long or Short replies—I think by now most can see I am a fairly long-reply writer. I don’t mind shorter threads, as long as there is some effort being put in by both of us. I just have had too many experiences in the past where I will put a lot of love into a starter and the person will only reply with a few sentences, which isn’t enough to continue the thread and makes me feel like I need to be the one guiding it along.

But I don’t mind shorter threads; sometimes it’s nice to just have something short and sweet. But all I ask is that some attempt be made to return the effort of writing back.

best time to write —This varies for me, especially since I have a full-time job. I try to work on things throughout the day on my breaks, but most of the time it feels like my best writing is done at night.

are you like your muse —I feel like so many of my muses have parts of me in them. It just helps to develop a character when you know some of the things they are feeling or going through. I experienced bullying for most of my life, which allowed me to understand the challenges Stella faced for years. Stella endured the mistreatment from the tribe and the negative thoughts that can arise when people make her feel a certain way.

Stella is also very forgiving; she cares so much about others. which isn’t a bad thing, but it has led to her giving up a lot to try and be there for them. In the end, I feel like Stella has so much of my love in her as well as Hiroto. The two are honestly combining parts of myself in them a bit; they are of course their own characters, but certain things I do see connecting to them from myself.

GlitchyK fun fact of the day

Aside from Discord, tumblr is really the first social media app I’ve had, and, well, that was of my own choice. I was scared to interact with people, I’m someone who’s overly paranoid. It’s hard to think of how just months ago… I wouldn’t have met any of you guys.

I came on here just because i… just, randomly, honestly. I first only joined to like SM-baby’s stuff, since I had stumbled upon their AU, than eventually tumblr as a whole. I started posting my silly little ideas and.. you people like them. It’s so interesting to think that for all these years I could’ve been on here and actually met you all sooner, I sorta wish I had, because sometimes I get nervous, especially with my mutuals. I feel like I’m just the misfit of the group, like the big dogs picked me up out of somewhat pitty, so sometimes I wish I had come earlier, both so that I’d feel less out of place, and so that I could encourage them more.

I didn’t realize that people don’t encourage the people they look up to online… I didn’t know that. My first instinct when I saw something cool, was to tell that person how cool I thought it was, since as someone who gets bored and writes, draws, and more, I’ve never really had support… at least, from people that I don’t know personally. Sometimes it feels like a “oh you’re just saying that since you know me…” so I guess part of me knows that getting a compliment from a stranger, can just make you feel great. There’s no bias, at least in these cases, and it’s not like only certain people can ask things.

I’ll admit, seeing all my cool tumblr friends be so good at art, storytelling, just interacting in general, having great personalities— sometimes it makes me feel a bit down, maybe a bit envious, but mostly proud. Sometimes it encourages me, other times it makes me feel oh so low, but that doesn’t have to do with them being good or bad, that’s how I view it at the moment. Anyways, sometimes I do feel down, seeing such great art, good stories, things that I feel like I could never do, but it just makes me feel more proud of them.

I know my art isn’t the best, hell, it’s shit, if I’m going to be honest. I’m self taught, and I have so many artists in my family, that as a kid, I would be told my stuff looks good, yet a sibling nine years older than me would have some amazing artwork, and that’s all I could compare myself to, so perhaps that’s part of the issue, but being here has made me feel a bit less like I suck. I just expected a few people to end up following my content… not like, 30 people.

Anyhow… I’m just great full, for all the friends, acquaintances, and anons I’ve met here. I honestly am not good with emotion, but when I think of tumblr, I just think of all my friends. The ones I can’t wait to blurb random ideas to, ones that I wish I could talk to more directly, but I’m too scared for that, hah, sure there are a few that are some bigger inspirations than others, but all of them matter. They’re all similar to me in some way, I guess. I’m not going to tag anyone here, since my usual negative outlook makes me feel like I’m just going to bother them, but—

You know who you are

You all inspire me, and make every day feel better. Every boring, negative, grueling day. And I’m happy I could even have a small affect on any of your lives

It’s not like my life was terrible before, it wasn’t that bad, but this, just makes it feel more bearable.
