Hello lovely bitches! I need some advice 🥲
Basically, the FAFSA fucked me over. They didn’t fix their algorithm to account for modern poverty and inflation, and I’m currently ineligible for Pell. This is an issue because—spoiler alert—I’m poor! I am financially eligible for Pell! I’m contacting FAFSA and my local senators about this really grave computer error.
Is there anything I can do financially to help save money in this time? Or at least anything I can do to freak out less 😅
Darling, we are SO PROUD OF YOU for contacting your reps and the FAFSA people. That is exactly what you should be doing, and it's not easy so good on ya. Let us know how it goes.
Other than that, this is everything we know about paying for school:
How To Pay for College Without Selling Your Soul to the Devil
Also, the comments are open if anyone else has ideas!
Did we just help you out? Tip us!

The University of Waterloo says it will offer free tuition to qualified students from the two First Nations communities whose traditional grounds the school sits upon.
It says those who are members of the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation will be considered for the initiative.
“This announcement is part of Waterloo’s efforts toward indigenization, decolonization and reconciliation, which are at the heart of the values guiding us as an institution of higher learning,” Waterloo president Vivek Goel stated.
“We hope that by reducing financial barriers for these students we will encourage them to participate in our innovative academic, entrepreneurship and co-op programs, which increases their future opportunities while strengthening communities and economies.”

Hey,
I’d really really appreciate if you guys could please donate to this gofundme.
I’m under immense pressure to graduate this spring by my abusive parents and they have made it clear if I don’t, I’m on my own financially, which I cannot do due to them preventing me from working for all of high school and college
I need to do this internship to graduate on time.
Please help me.
I don’t want to spend more time under either parent’s thumb.

Check, please!
I applied for a distribution from my son's college savings plan in late November. It didn't come and didn't come, but I know how difficult the mail carriers have it around Christmas, so I stayed patient. By the first week of January, I called the financial folks and asked them to cancel the first check and issue a new one. They said they would, not problem . . but here I am, more than two weeks later . . still no check in the mail!! Due to some ridiculous tech issue between them and my bank, I cannot get direct deposit (I tried). It's . . . frustrating.

Hello my lovely nerds,
This is a long shot as I am on the 'poor-person-web-site' and I know it. BUT, if you wouldn't mind having a look at this gofundme, for me to get back to school.
My depression and the pandemic hit me really hard. Back in 2019 it was my goal to be going back to school this year at the latest so I started saving at the time. If I Had been able to work full time since then as I assumed I would I would have more than enough to cover this - even with Ianto's added expenses. As it is, I am now in a worse spot than I was in early 2021 because I couldn't work and lived in a much more expensive place to recover my brain. It really did numbers on my savings... as in... I was a few weeks away from homelessness when I got the job in Camel Town.
I now have enough of a cushion that I won't be going without a roof anytime soon but no way enough to meet the UK's student visa requirements.
Right at the bottom of the text there is a video of me sight reading a passage, I am very happy to take 'commissions' for sight reading. Let me know what text you want read and I'll do it for 5 dollars - 10 if its more than a page lol.
In fact, if all of this blog's followers are real people and not bots, than 10 dollars from each of you will fill this right up to the top.
As always, I don't actually expect to make money off of tumblr, but if you could share/rebagle/forward this fundraiser to people I would love you for ever. I'm going to at a few big-names that I know of on here - or who feel like big names to me lol. No pressure to the tagged people. Just looking to spread the word.

Our Final Word on Student Loan Forgiveness
We’ve written a lot about student loan forgiveness. As a campaign promise, we loved it, but had zero faith it would ever happen. When the pandemic hit and it improbably grew legs, we were shocked and elated—though still skittish. After all, it had been so long since we had unreservedly great news to share with our readers. Like a houseplant that’s been given too little water, too much water, too little sunlight, or too much sunlight, the politically optimistic part of our brains withered and turned brown years ago!
Even as the policy details came out and the application for student loan forgiveness went live, we kept nervously casting about for the cameras recording our joy for a cruel prank show.
And sure enough, we stand before you today, picking banana cream pie out of our hair.

Finally got my email for my 3k scholarship. Kinda annoyed they want me to split it over time but woo money. I might still be able to fully use it on first years tuition but idk. Anyways I also got another email for the Governors Merit scholarship so I gotta figure out how much that is and if I get it. 💪
