The brain worms are ON ONE tonight folks I am thinking about Cody/Maul/Obi-Wan post order 66 living on tattooine together
like what if Maul sought out Obi-Wan's Commander shortly after O66 to get obsessive freaky closure about how Obes died (feels robbed of the kill, generally mentally ill about it, etc.) and is like "he is useless to me with all this fucking Imperial programing in the way" and does Force Stuff to break Cody's chip and what if Cody Wakes Up and goes "I can use this fucked up little guy to get to my General, who I believe survived, and then I'll just kill him easy peasy and live happily ever after with my husband" so he tells Maul that Obi-Wan is probably alive, actually, and cue a really violent road trip of them retracing Obi-Wan's steps in the hours after O66 via Imperial intel and hyper competence on both of their parts and
OH NO WHAT IF THEY START TO FALL IN LOVE like the forced proximity of it all...LISTEN TO ME. the intimacy of fighting alongside someone and having a functional partnership that's turned Dependency on both of your part's because you were both Traumatized in surprisingly similar ways (raised as a tool of violence for someone else's purpose, same guy actually!) and also have a similar goal via your mutual obsession with this one guy and actually, he's not that bad for a sith/clone, and by the time they get wise to Luke's existence and gun it for Tatooine, Maul is like "if I kill Kenobi this is going to upset Cody. That is Unideal. Can i live with not killing Kenobi?" and Cody is like "I cannot kill him afterall, I like him too much, how the FUCK am I going to explain this to Obi let alone any of the mind control & sorry i tried to kill you shit"
and what if Obi-Wan kept Luke because Reasons and is just so goddamn thankful for some extra childcare help (Luke's in his terrible 2s and he's force sensitive -- Obi's more sleep deprived than he ever was during the clone wars) that he really doesn't give a shit at all that it's his ex that tried to kill him for some mystery reason and motherfucking Maul on his doorstep. help is help 🙏 and they bang and stuff of course okay I'm only human

✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
All the fics I’ve read and really enjoyed in the past week-ish. Reminder: This list features any and all ratings and themes. Please look at tags and warnings on ao3 before reading.
Natsume Yuujinchou
the smallest things by taizi
In which Takashi comes into the Fujiwaras' lives much earlier on.
Untamed
Nice work if you can get it by deliciousblizzardshark (+ podfic)
(In order to make Wei Wuxian feel welcome at the Cloud Recesses, and to make sure people give him the respect he deserves (and definitely not to get into his pants), Lan Wangji hires him to be his advisor.)
“Lan Zhan, did you hire me just so you could punish people for disrespecting me?”
“No,” Lan Wangji said. “It is a side benefit.”
“Why did you hire me?”
“Because you are knowledgeable and skilled,” Lan Wangji said, “and I trust you to assist me in my work.”
Because everything is easier with you around and because I feel like a part of me is missing without you and because you can say things I can’t and because I need you he did not say.
“And you secretly like being a bitch to people,” Wei Wuxian added, with a sly grin.
Clone Wars
The Past Remains by otherhawk
The war drags on leaving trauma and destruction in its wake. After a bereaved Master is accused of harming his padawan, Obi-Wan is sent to talk to her, dredging up memories of his own past.
Betting by Proxy by kotekenobii
Newly transferred to the 212th Attack Battalion, Proxy finds himself cornered and given a secret mission by none other than THE Marshal Commander Cody.
Hic Sunt Lodices by handdrawnisopach, SniperAnon (The_Big_Reveal)
"..... Why do you live in a cave?"
Obi-Wan smiles, careful not to show his sharp teeth. "It's peaceful up here. The long climb means most people don't bother me, and no one might try to take my things. Also, maintaining a cave gives me plenty of space for my research without the expense and fuss of maintaining an estate."
He pulls out one of the large cushions so he can sit comfortably across from Cody. "I research magic," he explains. "Can't do it myself, but I have a good line in alchemy, chemistry, and pharmacy. I enjoy studying the more theoretical aspects too. So time and peace to do my reading and writing are important to me."
Cody nods slowly, his eyes sharper, more alert as he scans over the lair and the eclectic collection of items. Then his golden brown eyes drift to Obi-Wan. "Are you a dragon?" He asks, voice rough from exhaustion.
"Ah." Obi-Wan grips the hem of his skirt. "A bit? A bit dragony. Yes. That's fair."
Learned Men by Trixree
It becomes the Question—the one every vod is talking about from the bridge of the Negotiator to her dark bowels where the laundry rooms churn and chug along: who takes care of the General?
--
In which Obi-Wan is touch starved and his men take notice.
DC
Trust fall by Ididloveyou_once
'Drake?’
Tim felt like he was choking. His throat was tight. He couldn’t swallow.
‘Damian?’ He managed.
Damian was… here. At Kent Farm. Dressed in the too-big Batman pajamas that Dick had bought him last Christmas as a joke. And- And-
Tim was wearing Kon’s t-shirt and his hair was messy and his lips were swollen and- He wasn’t ready for this- He wasn’t- He couldn’t-
How had he been so stupid?
Or: Tim comes out to Damian and prepares for the entire family to know by morning. It just so happens that Damian can keep a secret. Multiple, actually.
Wedding Album by Ididloveyou_once
'Let’s elope,’ Tim said, a little desperation leaking into his voice, ‘we could be on our way to Thailand by the end of the day.’
‘Actually,’ Conner’s amused eyes flickered toward Tim's family gathered at the dining table, ‘I think we’re going to Greece now.’
Or: Tim and Conner are getting married and everyone wants to be involved (snapshots of wedding planning very loosely connected by the creation of a wedding album).

Last Line Challenge
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or however many you like).
Thanks for the tag @cacodaemonia I have not been writing much mainly because I've been reading so much Call of Duty MW2 Soap/Ghost fic. (and I'm not sorry, there are some wickedly amazingly talented writers in that fandom, holy shit!)
Anyway... here is another line from upcoming chapters of my codywan "And I'll Follow the Light in You"
Fox and Obi-Wan meet: (Fox) “You’re older than I thought you’d be,” he remarks. Obi-Wan raises his chin a little, smirking. “Well, you’re rather gray for a 14 year old yourself, Commander.” Fox’s eyes narrow for a moment, then the corner of his mouth lifts slightly. “I like him, Codes. He’ll do.”
Yes it's more than one line, no I don't care.

Thank you for answering! I would actually really love to know who to follow on tumblr especially. I cant get enough clone content on my dash it seems XD. Maybe ill be able to take strength and post my blorbos with their story. I have an intense desire to share them, just gotta figure out what to write.
Hello again! Ahh I hope you can think of something to write for them :D
*cracks knuckles* Okay, I'm gonna make a list of a bunch of folks in TCW fandom who are primarily, or at least substantially, here for the clones. I don't scroll my dash very often, so I can't guarantee all of these people are still very active or post oodles of clone-centric stuff, but they love the clones and are ship-and-let-ship.
For anyone I tag or anyone who sees this: I WILL forget people because my memory is garbage (and I know some people on discord but can't recall their Tumblrs, booo), so feel free to add to the list as long as the Tumblr user is into the clones and not an anti 🧡
Okay, in no particular order:

Clone-centric Star Wars Fic Recs
Includes both Clone Wars and Bad Batch.
Stories marked with * include the clones using Mando'a and/or the clones having adopted Mando culture.
and the Force is with me by sauntering_down | 7.9k | oneshot
Rex, Cut Lawquane, Suu Lawquane
Summary:
When he opens his eyes, Cut is watching him steadily, fingers still locked around Rex’s wrist. “Interesting mantra,” he says. “Where’d you pick that up?”
Warnings: Graphic description of corpses, panic attacks, PTSD
(Rex deserves to be able to let himself process the fallout of Order 66 and this story lets him have that.)
Twilight on Owl Creek Bridge by yellow_caballero | 33k | oneshot
Fox, Leia Organa, Sheev Palpatine
Summary:
SUBJECT: Regarding Senate Guard Objectives For Today
This is a polite reminder to all guardsmen that patrol schedules for the Senate vote ratifying dictatorships are posted in the breakroom. I am also issuing a warning to linear time that days should follow sequentially and are not intended to repeat. Please cease repeating. I am getting a headache.
Additionally, I'd like to remind all guardsmen that it is illegal to harbor invisible women in the Senate. If you see a ghost claiming to be Leia Organa, please remove her from the premises. She will be making a scene.
Thank you for your cooperation in preserving the peace of the Republic, and all hail the Empire.
FOX
(Kind of time travel, kind of unstuck in time, both Fox and Leia are in for a not-so-great time)
An Hourglass in Hand by ecarian | 77.5k | multichapter | completed
Cody/Obi-Wan, Anakin, Rex, Ahsoka
Summary:
“I thought daemons didn’t eat,” Rex noted once, during a celebration feast, as he and Cody watched Boga devour her meal with some fascination. Varactyl she may be, but she was a tiny one. There wasn't much interior space for the truly momentous amount of meat she was ripping into.
Boga daintily rubbed her beak against a folded serviette that looked kind of like a bird, and said, prim, “I can do anything a human can do.”
“Oh?” Obi-Wan said mildly, from where he’d been tapping at a datapad. “Shall I save you a portion of these reports then?”
Warnings: Temporary character death
(The daemon-AU of my dreams. Cody is wonderfully snarky and there's just something so fun and satisfying about the writing style. I started reading this and couldn't stop.)
The Barking of Birds by Trixree | 1.2k | oneshot
Hound, Fox, Hound the bird
Summary:
When they finally catch up to this latest branch of the illegal exotic animal trade, they do so in a dingy warehouse nestled deep within the Lowers. It’s the cliche of all cliches.
What Hound couldn’t have predicted is the bird.
(Fox gets a foul-mouth parrot. Hound suffers for it.)
the keyring crown by littlekaracan | 39.5k | multichapter
Cody/Obi-Wan, Rex, Fox
Summary:
“You forget I’m not a Jedi.” Cody smiled to him, but even he heard the note of bitterness in his own voice. He was not like Obi-Wan – perhaps his brothers learned these things, but Cody hardly knew where even to begin. Hardly believed the plant, however determined, would last long in his care. “I don’t have the same…” He gestured, a little vaguely, somewhere in Obi-Wan’s direction. “…Growing tricks that you do.”
“There are no Jedi tricks involved in that sort of thing,” Obi-Wan said, voice well and truly soft now as his gaze rose from his mug to Cody. “It is not the cosmos which cultivates, at least for the most part.” He reached, gently, to close his fingers over Cody’s which were still wrapped around his mug. “It’s just your hands and your dedication.” He leaned in just a little bit, watching him - close and quiet. “And I know, darling, just how dedicated you can be.”
Warning: Panic attacks, aftermath of mind control
(The war is over and Cody is learning to live in the aftermath.)
*Art of War by Moxibustion (RyuuzaKochou) | 72.8k | multichapter
Echo, Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, Rex, Fox (Fives in absentia)
Summary:
Echo had never had any particular talents. He'd never sought to be special, never tried to break the mould. He'd never aspired to be anything more than a clockwork soldier, watching his far more brilliant brothers rise up above him. He'd never expected to wake up one day and find out that he was, in fact, the last of them.
Funny old galaxy, really.
Now he was in the Bad Batch and one thing he was rapidly beginning to understand is this: in a galaxy filled with combat engineers, the Bad Batch are artists. Echo had never really known much about art. At least... that's what he'd always thought. New body, new squad - maybe it was time to look at things in a whole new way.
A story about art, war, coping, hanging on, letting go, restoration, reforging, plotting in a brig, military intelligence isn't, Wrecker's diplomacy doesn't, cooking, the thin line between genius and madness, starting over, struggling with loss, team bonding, art therapy, guerilla knitting therapy, big boom therapy, shaking down shinies for fun and profit, guilt, rage, forgiveness, waging war by fitting in…
... and making your peace with standing out.
Warnings: Injury recovery, grief and mourning, PTSD
(Echo finds his place in the Bad Batch and comes to terms with never being able to go back to who he used to be.)
*their days are darker by always_a_slut_for_hc | 23.4k | multichapter
Wolffe, Fox, Cody, Bly
Summary:
After the death of ARC Trooper Fives, an altercation at 79's leads Wolffe to spend his leave snooping around the Coruscant Guard. Fox assumes he'll drop it and leave the Corries to their fate; it's what everyone else has done.
He is very, very wrong.
Warnings: Dehumanization, gaslighting
(The other Commanders finally learn what the Corries have been going through and it's not pretty.)
Dielectric Breakdown by Jessepinwheel | 65.4k | multichapter
Cody, Rex, Fox, Echo, Obi-Wan
Summary:
Cody had always believed the best of his General--strong, steadfast, and loyal. That is, until Obi-Wan suddenly assassinated the Supreme Chancellor and vanished without a trace, leaving the Republic scrambling in the fallout.
Five years later, Cody is still trying to pick up the pieces and understand why Obi-Wan betrayed them all.
(Cody doesn't know why the war ended the way it did and he can't let it go, despite the objections of his brothers.)
*Love Each Other With Abandon by Elthadriel | 25k | oneshot
Cody, Rex, Fox, Wolffe, Obi-Wan
Summary:
Cody tries to navigate his way through what might be the most awkward crush he could possibly have developed. Fortunately, his brothers are there to provide emotional support
Or, at the very least, provide amused commentary.
(The sibling dynamics in this story are perfect.)
*The Legend of Liob by Killbothtwins | 19k | oneshot
Cody, Waxer, Boil, Obi-Wan
Summary:
The Republic sends a combat photographer to be attached to the 212th until further notice, citing the need for a morale boost. The clones make up a fake clone, citing the absolute fact that it is very funny.
Somehow, these two things save the galaxy.
(Or show a fake clone brings down a Sith Lord.)
*sunshine and the shade of poetry by Petrichor (Mythmaker) | 33.2k | multichapter
Cody, Rex, Wolffe, Bly, Obi-Wan
Summary:
"Sorry sir, but I don't think we've met," Cody said, turning up the friendly customer service representative levels by two points.
To his delight, there wasn't really any visible change in his general's expression. "Have I neglected to leave an impression on you over the last several years?"
"I'm not sure you want an honest answer to that question, sir."
=====
The war comes to an abrupt end, and everyone around him begins the long road to recovery and discovery. Cody, on the other hand, just needs to find a new job.
Unfortunately, he has no idea what to do next.
(Cody's just trying to get by, convinced that he doesn't need or want a higher calling. He's disabused of this notion.)

Star Wars Fic Recs Part the Fourth
[first fic rec list] [second fic rec list] [third fic rec list]
Been a few weeks since I've done one of these and I've read/reread some great fics recently so let me share them with you now!
And I Fear Nothing by @maiseey (Obi-Wan/Cody, WIP, 11/? chapters, 43.4k words) Picture this: I am sitting in the parking lot of my local grocery store, having just bought a load of perishables. I get the email that And I Fear Nothing has just been updated. What do I do: run home to preserve the food I just paid for, or sit in my car and read the new chapter right away? The answer is obvious, of course! That is exactly the situation I found myself in last week when chapter 11 dropped and I did in fact choose to read it in spite of my groceries, that's how much I love this fic. In this fic, Obi-Wan and Cody are raising Luke and Leia together on Tatooine, and they've got so much trauma, and new + old wounds, and love for each other and the children they're raising that it both warms your heart and tears it apart. But that's not all, this fic expands beyond just the small home in the middle of the Jundland Wastes and explores Ahsoka and Rex and their journey to de-chip as many clones as possible. I love this fic because it doesn't shy away from hard conversations, but it does it in a way that makes you want to cry and give everyone involved a hug. Plus, there are some fantastic minor clone characters that you will 100% want to die for by the time you finish reading. Cannot recommend this fic enough.
Obligate by @communistkenobi (gen, one-shot, 23.9k words, Obi-Wan & Anakin & Ahsoka) Just when you thought the Deception arc didn't have enough pain, this AU sees Anakin fake his death instead of Obi-Wan! My heart is physically ripped out of my chest just thinking about this fic, so imagine what it'd do to you actually reading it. Anything @communistkenobi writes is so well-done and I've gone through his works list on AO3 multiple times, but somehow I missed this when it was first posted and it was like a wonderfully delightful surprise when I ran into it the other day. So, so good. Highly recommend!
Moirai by damonkey (gen, WIP, 4/? chapters, 9.2k words, Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon) All I can really say about this fic without giving anything away is that it's a Phantom Menace AU and it's so intriguing. The author is very deliberate in having a vague summary and only tagging as the story progresses, so I truly have no idea what's ahead of me but it's so -- as I said -- intriguing that I'm happy to strap into the ride. Ahhhh I'm skimming through the fic and there are so many things I want to mention but I don't want to give anything away!
Almost Home by @frunbuns (gen, one-shot, 5.2k words, Obi-Wan & Anakin) You know, every time I recc a Modern AU I'm like "I don't usually like Modern AUs but..." and then proceed to gush over the fic. I went and checked and I've recced a Modern AU on almost every fic rec list I've made! Maybe I do like Modern AUs?? Or maybe the fics are just that good -- and this fic is definitely that good. In this fic, the first of a planned series of fics set in a modern Star Wars universe, Obi-Wan is reeling from the loss of his adoptive father Qui-Gon and has to care for a young Anakin. Ooooooof. Definitely hits you right in the feels, this one. Love the non-chronological storytelling too!
Naked and Not Paid by biscuitlevitation (Obi-Wan/212th Attack Battalion, WIP, 6/? chapters, 14.9k words) This fic is essentially ~15k words of the clones thirsting over Obi-Wan and it is the funniest thing I have read all year. I'm not kidding, I just read the last chapter which features space-church-lady!Anakin and I laughed so hard I cried. I'm cracking up just thinking about it. I promise you will have a good time reading this fic. And if the tag "Obi-Wan Kenobi/212th Attack Battalion" puts you off, let me just say there's no sex in this at all, it's just thirst. And it's hilarious.
Full Disclosure by @trixree (Obi-Wan/Cody, WIP, 2/3 chapters, 7.4k words) ROTS AU in which the Force bonds Obi-Wan has formed with a few members of the 212th save them from the chip and Order 66, but it doesn't stop the devastation from happening on a mass scale and they all have to try and deal with Mustafar and Luke and Leia. This fic manages to be both extremely soft and extremely gut-wrenching at the same time, and I wish I could leave more kudos. Full disclosure (get it, little pun there for ya), I will be dying until the final chapter comes out. Time to go listen to Olivia Rodrigo and reread this fic and just live in my feels.
Thirteen Days by @ewanmcgregorismyhomeboy12 (gen, one-shot, 4.1k words, Obi-Wan & Anakin) Post-Zygerria arc, Anakin dresses an unconscious Obi-Wan's injuries and struggles. Ahhhh this fic is one of my favorite Zygerria arc fics, and given that that's my favorite arc, that's saying a lot! Obi-Wan doesn't say a word in this fic, but his presence is very much there, if you know what I mean. And the descriptions of injuries here are pretty graphic at times, but it's so good that you'll want to keep reading even if you have to do it through the fingers covering your eyes.
brother, let me be your shelter by @kenobilovebot (gen, one-shot, 1.6k words, Obi-Wan & Anakin) This fic packs so much tenderness in a short amount of words. It covers an AU in which Obi-Wan's issues from Zigoola never really resolve, and Anakin finds out when -- well, you'll just have to read for yourself. I love Zigoola because it is such an excellent whumpfest for poor Obi-Wan and this fic is great for that, but also highlights Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship.
A Padawan At War (Again) series by @itstimeforstarwars (gen, 3 parts, 100k words, Obi-Wan & Anakin) In this series, Obi-Wan and Anakin are transported from The Phantom Menace into the Clone Wars and have to deal with all that comes with it: fighting wars, discovering a Padawan you never knew you had, dueling your grandmaster who apparently is a Sith Lord now(?!) and all the rest. This series is a great ride, and I look forward to every update. Note: the first fic in this series is a one-shot that was expanded upon, and it drops you in media res. The second fic is a prequel that shows how they got to that point, and the third fic is the sequel that shows what comes after.
The Desert Storm series by @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning (complete, 24 parts, 1.144 million words) There has never been a better time to start reading this series. If you read Star Wars fics on AO3, then you've definitely seen the Desert Storm series before, but maybe you were daunted by the high word count, or felt like it would be too much effort to go all the way to the beginning of a series but couldn't just jump in halfway. Let me tell you, it's 100% worth it, and now is the perfect time to read this series if you haven't already. This series is complete, but it turns out it's all just Act 1 of the larger story, which will continue in the Rise and Fall series. @blue-sunshine-mauve-morning is taking a break right now before starting the next series, so you have ample time to get caught up, and YOU REALLY SHOULD. Let me tell you, this series had me on the edge of my seat more than any other piece of media I can remember. With the most recent chapters, where everything that has been building for a million words came to a head, I would get so worked up after each chapter that beforehand I would have to queue up calming things to watch afterwards, and it still wouldn't be enough and I'd be too full of feelings to get anything done the rest of the day. Seriously, this series is amazing. And if you HAVE read it before but haven't reread, now is the perfect time for that as well. I've reread this series multiple times and it's so rewarding because the author sprinkled in so many hints as to what will come that you only understand the second (or third) time around. I know I've written a lot for this rec but this is a long series and it deserves it. Go read! Now!
If you like any of these fics, please consider reblogging so they can get more exposure! And if you noticed I missed someone’s Tumblr account, or linked the wrong one, please let me know!

“Are we going to pretend I didn’t just find you fucking your General, vod?” Rex hisses over private-comm. Cody doesn’t even turn his head to look at him. Rex can hear the smile in Cody’s voice when he replies, “No, because I am not fucking my General, Rex’ika. I am fucking Obi-Wan. We are professionals.” - 5 times Cody and Obi-Wan struggled to maintain plausible deniability regarding their affections for one another + 1 time they decidedly Did Not.

Rules: Write the latest line from your WIP and tag as many people as there are words in the line.
I haven’t written much the last time I did one of these >_>
“Look,” Zoro said, clutching Wado in a white-knuckle grip in his effort to keep his voice steady. “I’m not—I’m not good at this kind of thing. All I can do right now is try to get us out of here by force.
I still. haven’t finished that line of dialogue.
Yeah I literally don’t know enough people who are writing things rn to tag as many as there are words. But perhaps @dandunn, @trixree, @caffeinelemur, and @iiiodiiine?

I usually do a fic rec list of personal favorites every year on Fanfiction Writer’s Appreciation Day (August 21st) and I realized I didn’t do one in 2019 so here’s a list of my personal
One Piece Fanfic Favs 🏴‍☠️🌟!!
Keeping up with the tradition, this list exclusively features works that could use more love thrown their way! OP is a pretty big fandom, so I set the limit at max. 300 kudos. Please enjoy and leave plenty of kudos & comments if you can (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
Previous rec lists: Metal Gear / The Witcher
***
burn before the fire by shishiswordsman (@shishiswordsman)
Kicking this list off with one of my absolute favorites. This is a Wano Arc look into Luffy’s headspace through Law’s eyes, and it’s amazing. Stellar characterization, great pacing, I truly adore this fic.
(Sneaky double rec with shadow rises (and you are here) by the same author because my god do I burn for the Luffy-used-to-be-a-slave AU and this is my favorite rendition of it hrghhh my heart)
Stasis by ImperialMint (@imperialmint)
Pure Strawhat nakamaship hurt/comfort goodness. This was one of the first fics I read for this fandom and it scratches an itch for Luffy sacrificing himself for his crew and his crew taking care of Luffy in turn so wonderfully. Please mind the tags, though!
At The End of The Day by Artificial_Starlight
Bending the 300 kudos rule for this one because it’s a longfic and it’s criminal how few kudos this has. This is a true feast of a LawLu Modern AU if I’ve ever seen one. I adore everything from worldbuilding to plot to characterization. It’s one of those stories that makes you run to AO3 whenever it updates. You won’t regret catching up with it, I promise.

SCREAMS FROM THE ROOFTOPS this is the first kidkiller fic I came across and it lit a fire under my ass for this ship y’all I can’t even describe it. It’s a collection of snapshots from Kidd & Killer’s lives with an ace!Killer HC I?? adore?? Anyhow if I could delete my memory and read it with fresh eyes I would hhhh
The storm ended already (so you should stop shaking) by Amazaria (@amazaria)
Listen. This fic has everything I needed from a post-Water 7 scenario and more because it’s focused on Usopp & Nami and I just. I’m so soft. This made me so soft. It’s so good. Please read it.
Illness on the High Seas by mydetheturk (@mydetheturk)
I’m one of those idiots who is so focused on the Most Popular Boys that I get tunnel vision from it and then there comes a fic that shows me what a monumentally stupid move that is. Myde writes those fics by the regular and I adore all her writing but this fic specifically is so very good and so very underappreciated. It’s a Coby-and-Brook story about shipwide illnesses and those who keep things together. It’s sad and hopeful and wonderful, my heart is so full.
sacrifice by wbtrashking (@quillifer)
This one is a swift but deadly roundhouse kick to the heart. It delves into an aspect to Law’s powers that makes me anxious to even think about in the context of Wano (or any fight with high stakes, really) and Ash sharpened that potential to its best possible effect. Straight to the point, absolutely heart-wrenching, join me in Law feels hell please!!!
(Ash also wrote a kidkiller one-shot called familiarity for me and I’m aware this will sound very biased but it’s the best thing I’ve ever witnessed with my own two eyeballs. Timeskip Kidd & Killer being soft around each other, my crops are forever watered... thank you...)
Breathing Easy (And All Its Associated Complications) by Trixree (@trixree)
This fic gave me a lot of emotions I didn’t know where the fuck to put, it’s just so good and unique and my soul burns just thinking about this. I never really considered the monster trio as an OT3 constellation before this but I certainly am since I read this. Pre-timeskip figuring out of feelings and polyamory, my god my heart aches.
Scrapyard Remnants by threesipsmore
Another kidkiller classic in my eyes. It’s an exploration of pre-canon Kidd & Killer, how they grew up and came to be and I just love this a lot. It was written before the Wano revelations of late, and I can’t express enough respect for tackling these characters in such a believable way with how little we knew of them back then.
toragara by Origamidragons (@oriigami)
This is one of those tattoo-it-across-my-body-this-is-amazing kind of reads where every line is so good and hits so deep and it stays with you for a long time. It’s an AU where Zoro is a tiger shifter... person roaming Goa where Luffy stumbles upon him, and I’m a little mad it’s not actually canon because it’s so unique and I adore the idea. Anyhow. Read it or die by my sword(s).
God’s gonna trouble the water by hongmunmu (@dragonkov)
Reading this is an experience that’s so visceral it’s hard to describe. It’s a what-if scenario for Water 7 where Usopp dies before he can grab Luffy’s hand and escape with the crew, and it’s exactly as emotional and harrowing as that sounds. This author’s grasp on Usopp and the entire crew is unparalleled and I literally haven’t stopped thinking about this fic ever since I read it.
***
That’s it for now! Feel free to add to this list if you like and as always a huge THANK YOU to the writers of this fandom for their amazing work c:

How many works do you have on AO3? 200
What's your total AO3 word count? 1,726,782
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I’ve been in fandom way longer than AO3.  So, in some very rough chronological order: X-Men, Knight Rider, Red Dwarf, MST3K, Star Trek: The Original Series, several one-offs, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, DCU, due South, Supernatural, Star Wars.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Blackbirds: Year One (Star Wars - All Media Types)  Kudos: 921
Staring into open flame (Star Wars - All Media Types) Kudos: 789
Here for You (Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars - All Media Types) Kudos: 706
Adding shadows to the walls of the cave (Star Wars - All Media Types) Kudos: 594
Calling to join them the wretched and joyful (Star Wars - All Media Types) Kudos: 496
All Star Wars.  Believe it or not, I’m usually a more niche kind of author.  LOL!  In some ways, I still am; I tend to think at least some of those kudos are from people who read it despite the Obimaul content.  And despite the fact that I refuse to write Maul as some kind animalistic brute.
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes.  I’m sometimes very slow at it, but I always try to respond to everyone who comments because someone took their time to say something to me about a story I’ve written and that honestly makes my day.  Even now.  Every single time.  It touches my heart, it motivates me, and I want to thank people for that.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Tough call.  Shoot.  Uh-- often, even when there’s death at the end, I try to wring some kind of triumph out of it.  But on AO3, probably Disposable.
Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
OMG, the ShadowKnights.  It started off as my sister’s and my shared universe, but over time evolved and expanded and became other peoples’ too.  Its fandoms included:  X-Men, Knight Rider, MST3K, Red Dwarf, Prisoners of Gravity, Star Trek-- it was just a huge mashup that went on to spawn several AUs and I still love it with all my soul.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
In the past, yeah.  I just delete it and block, or ignore.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Selectively and rarely.  I have no problem writing it under a psued!  Or RPing it under my RP accounts!  But for some reason, I get super nervous to write it under my regular penname.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Pieces of them.  Enough to annoy, not enough to fight over.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I’m aware of.
What’s your all time favorite ship?
I refuse to choose.
Whats a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Probably And in between the moon and you.  It’s still very relevant to Witness me, as a story, it still absolutely is ‘canon’ to the series, and Maul’s talk with Breha that was referenced in there comes around again in early Year Two, but I’ve moved so far past the story that there’s no going back to it.  I should probably just mark it finished and add it back into the series, honestly.  It has some beautiful scenes in it, and I think people miss it when they read.
What are your writing strengths?
I think it’s probably my ability to go deep?  I don’t like writing cardboard.  I want every character I put my hands on, even as a cameo, to feel alive.  I want to know down to the last what the motivations are.  I think that I can extrapolate really damn well how a canon character will turn out when you change their scenario, so they feel true.  And-- I think I can turn a beautiful phrase sometimes.  I’ve been writing since I was twelve, honestly; if I’m not allowed to say I’m good at it after all this time and work, then to hell with whoever would claim that.  I might not be Maclean, but I’m pretty good as SLWalker.
What are your writing weaknesses?
It’s hard for me to plot too far ahead.  My friend @b-radley66 is an expert at weaving huge, intricate plots and writing shit that’ll be relevant in-universe twenty years later.  But me, I often let the story tell itself; I have some basic plot points, beats I have to hit, but just as often, the story sometimes goes off on its own and I just follow.  I think I sometimes get repetitive in word usage or phrasing.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I don’t have any.  I write the language I know best.  But I have RP’d Castiel speaking Enochian, too.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I will never, ever tell.  Not even over my cold, dead body.
What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?
I can’t say.  I’ve loved so many stories.  They have been told at a time in my life when I needed to tell them; the characters have been my companions on my journey to hope and healing.  Picking a single one would be impossible.
Tagging: @wrennette -  @shadowmaat - @b-radley66 - @submeowchinegun - @grimark - @doorsclosingslowly - @unspeakablehorror - @inqorporeal - @darthplodder - @aces-to-apples - @quousque

Okay it’s official everyone needs to stop reblogging my content right now, because my older sibling keeps finding my posts on other peoples blogs, and eventually they are actually gonna kill me. They just texted me about how they were looking at a blog for One Piece stuff and kept finding my posts, so they demanded that i check if that blog is following me. Spoiler alert, yes they are. My sibling is especially angry bcause I have literally no interest in One Piece and can’t appreciate this in the slightest lmaoooo
So anyways shout out to @trixree for apparently writing really good One Piece fics and also following me, thank you for inadvertently helping me piss off my sibling.

4 and 23!
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
Only three?  That’s gonna be tough!  Let’s see, as of right now... - wish by spirit and if by yes by midnightluck.  One Piece, gen, Ace & Sabo focus. Sabo manages to get his memories back a little sooner, and things go very differently. I particularly like this one not only because it’s a very good example of a fix-it, but because Ace and Sabo feel very true to their characterizations, and very much like a couple of college-aged boys handed immense power and more responsibility than they should probably really have. And Koala is an absolute delight.  - Mutiny by VIKAN. One Piece gen, Luffy & Zoro focus. Leans into Zoro’s role as first mate. Absolutely gorgeous atmospheric piece, the conflict is beautifully written and drawn out.  - Accompanied by Trixree. One Piece, LuZoSan, explicit. The Strawhats encounter a little girl with a devil fruit and Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji wind up with a psychic bond. I could honestly recommend everything Trixree writes -- she’s fantastic! But this one is a particular favorite of mine.
23. What’s your absolute favorite trope to write?
Soulmate bonds, and all the complications thereof! I’m not someone who’s very romantic in my personal life, and I certainly don’t believe in real-life soulmates or love at first sight or anything like that,  but I’m really entertained with the concept of having your soul stapled to this other person, and having to deal with it -- whether you fall in love with them, wind up platonic best friends, run screaming in the opposite direction, or all of the above in some order. Plus, examining how it changes society when you’ve got this aspect to it -- what does it mean for the world at large when people can find themselves tied so tightly to one other person that they may meet at any point in their lives or never at all?  Delicious feelings soup, that’s what.
Thank you so much for sending me these questions!

They'd been in love as cadets, but a relationship is hard to maintain from half-a-galaxy and a war-front away. "In love" feels… too simplistic for what it was, for how badly it hurt when their deployments came down, for the distance that Cody never really stopped feeling, as prevalent as the ache in his skull along the lines of his scar. A grief carried around every second of every day like a missing limb doesn't fit inside the words "in love". But those are the only words that Cody has—clones don't say the riduurok.
What they did say, stolen between gasped breaths, crammed into spaces too small for two was: Fox, I want to force myself inside your chest and never leave; Kote, that's kriffing nasty, tell me again. They say, stolen when satellites connect, tucked under layer upon layer of encryption: CC-2224: I miss you; CC-1010: I know.
They'd connected on Triple Zero only four times before the war's end.
On the first, they'd met with such a combined fervor that it ignited between them like a wildfire, the kind that leaves a landscape devastated in its wake. They'd come together in Fox's private quarters in the GAR barracks— old and ugly, unremarkable and uncomfortable but for that it had a horizontal surface and a locked door, and that was all they really needed besides each other.
Fox had made a sound like a sob when Cody pressed him down to the bed, licking deep, wet, and deeper into his mouth with months worth of wanting it and Cody had echoed the sound right back. They'd always been the same, matched from their scores throughout training down to their fucking personalities; their viciousness, their acerbic humor, and yeah, their weaknesses and comforts, too. Of course, Cody had needed it just as bad as Fox had—the animal comfort of it. The sheer relief of their proximity, finally.
They’d brought each other to emotional, spine-melting, toe-curling orgasms—practiced hands on familiar bodies, racing down a well-known path—before collapsing into a damp heap, Fox spooned along the length of Cody’s spine, clutching him close. Cody held on equally as tight and felt grounded.
"They trained us so well for everything else about the fucking war," Cody would rasp in the afterglow, tracing mindless patterns on Fox's skin with his nails, scratching just enough to show faint red lines, "but they didn't bother to train us how to be apart from each other. Or how to die next to each other."
It was morbid. He meant every word of it.
Cody would never share a thought like it with anyone but Fox. (His General would earn the honor later, but not now. He hadn't yet. This was early days, still.)
"That's because we weren't meant to get attached," Fox muttered into the skin behind Cody's ear, slightly garbled from how tightly he was pressed up to Cody's back. He'd clung like the glue the medics use to sew men back together; like he was trying to fuse them into the whole entity they were supposed to be.
"They were wrong, vod," Cody kissed the words into the top of Fox's bruised and battered hands. (He was taking and giving hard hits even through his gloves to have such marks, and Cody had wondered about it at the time but not enough.)
"I'll keep coming back to you," Cody had eventually picked up the conversation's sentiment if not the exact thread, because Fox can hold a silence like no one else. "K'oyacyii, Cyare.”
Their second meeting some months later had been... less ideal. It was the first real misstep of so, so fucking many in a campaign Cody didn’t know he was waging until it was too late.
Cody had arranged to be in Fox’s private quarters by the conclusion of his shift. He’d tapped Thorn for the intel ahead of time. It’d been so long since he and Fox had exchanged more than a quick check-in—Me'vaar ti gar? and an answering oyayc. K’oyacyii over comms—let alone had a moment to call. Cody had wanted to do something mischievous, something a little like the trouble they used to get into on Kamino together, but with a whole lot less risk—something to distract, because kriff knew he needed it; and they’d always, always been the same.
Fox had been four hours late; Cody had been upset, and frustrated with Fox’s complete and uncharacteristic lack of a reaction.
“I missed you,” Cody had said, frustrated, tired, wanting to say something much harsher. Why did I come here if you weren’t going to be here? If you were just going to ice me out, even when you bothered to show up?
“I know,” Fox had replied. It had sounded like an apology. Cody was too distracted by the smarting hurt of it—of the acute yearning for that something between them that neither of them quite had the opportunity to have anymore—to realize it was an apology. (It was the only one Fox knew how to give.)
They hadn’t done more than sleep beside each other that night—and Cody remembers clinging so, so tight and it still not feeling like enough to hold them together. They ate a quiet breakfast together in the GAR barracks before Cody had been called away to the Jedi Temple on urgent business.
The hurt was little, in the grand scheme of things, but their time together was so rare and the enormous distance between them let it smart. Let it turn into a bigger scab than needed grow at all.
The third time Cody saw him, an even longer stretch of time had passed since the last interval between their infrequent visits. Time had grown a series of red flags around Fox, flags Cody didn’t want to see.
Fox was thinner than Cody had ever seen him with bags under his eyes like bruises and new, little silver hairs creeping out from his temples. Fox had done what Fox always did when hurting, when vulnerable, when he felt backed into a corner and on the defensive.
They'd fought bitterly. Fox was like a veritable land-mine of barbs, criticism, and cruelty; Cody gave it as good as he got. They’d always excelled at fighting each other—both of them stubborn, mean, overachieving bastards down to the marrow.
Fox had called him “Marshal Commander” like it was an indictment, like it was an insult, like he’d never say Cody (let alone the reverently-whispered, achingly tender Kote).
“Coruscant changed you,” Cody had said, low and serious, and perhaps it would have been better if he’d shouted, screamed, or otherwise been karking unreasonable about it. Maybe if he hadn’t said it like he believed it, like he wasn’t just fucking angry and hurting, needing comfort Fox couldn’t give—because Fox needed it too, needed it just as badly if not more, and Cody had missed it through his own pain—just to have spared himself the memory of the little flash of agony in Fox’s eyes when Cody’s words had registered.
Fox had shut his face down fast, icing Cody out in a second flat. He’d said, “You’re right, Cody. It did." And then, "There’s the fucking door.”
And Cody hadn’t left. He’d pounced instead, dragging Fox down to the rough carpet of his office, kissing him like he was laying a fist across his jaw. Fox had kissed him back with equal ferocity. They hadn’t spoken a word otherwise, just gasps, moans, and yes’s, more’s, please’s.
They hadn’t held each other in the aftermath. Cody had reached for it, had reached out to hold him, and Fox had turned away.
There were so many scars on his back that Cody did not recognize.
He’d dressed in silence. Murmured what they always did, even when they were furious, fighting, whatever.
K’oyaci. And then he’d left him.
And the final time—the blood-thirsty, vengeful now of it all—had been about Fives.
Cody had—in all honesty, Cody wasn’t sure what he was intending to do. But Rex was insensate in the weeks after Fives' death, and it was Fox that had taken the shot—Fox who took a vod from Cody’s vod’ika.
Cody had come to Fox looking for blood. He’d found it alright, but he hadn’t had to work for it.
Fox was deliriously feverish when Cody found him, slumped over his desk in a puddle of bloody vomit, murmuring nothing but nonsense, eyes bloodshot and rolling in unseeing circles. A fever of 103, the responding medics had told him. A bleed in the brain, the med scanners had said.
But nothing spoke louder than the chip the surgical team had found in Fox's fucking head.
By the time Fox wakes from his brain-surgery and bacta-dunk combo, Cody has had plenty of time to process—and plan. About thirteen hours, to be exact. Cody can get a lot done in thirteen hours with a holopad and some intel. As soon as he talks to Fox, he’s going straight to his General.
When he does wake, it's all at once: breath hitching, hands twitching, eyes snapping open.
“I’ve got you,” Cody says, and gets to watch those eyes lock on his own.
“What,” Fox rasps. His eyes say, don’t. Don’t tell me the truth, please, it’ll hurt too much. Don't say a word.
“I wasn’t paying attention. I am now,” Cody says, squeezing the hand sans-IV. With the other, Fox is gingerly touching the plast over his surgical site, eyes widening with something like horror, something like oh fuck, like dawning understanding.
“Cody,” Fox keens, an agonized sound, and Cody crawls in the fucking bed.
He carefully straddles Fox’s lap as his vod scrambles to bury himself in Cody’s chest, claw his way under Cody’s ribs, and Cody would let him, would keep him there if he could.
“Mhi solus tome,” he presses into Fox’s hair, and Fox wails to hear it. The keening cry turns into full-body sobs, hands clinging to Cody bruise-tight, and Cody rocks him through to the lullaby of, “mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde."
“You can’t marry me, you piece of shit,” Fox says when he’s finally cried himself out (it could be an hour or an eternity later) limp and exhausted in Cody’s arms.
“Fucking watch me,” Cody replies, unbothered.
“Cody, you have no idea what I’ve done. You can’t.”
“Let me be the judge of that, Fox.”
“I won’t survive it,” Fox whispers.
“Let me prove you wrong,” Cody says, and means please; I love you.
