Did Caleb ate Kitty's food? And didn't he feel sick after that?

Althought....How Caleb found Flapjack? In Human realm or in Demon?

I answered the second question some while ago with human realm!

For the first one I present you: another glorious piece of writing (it follows my comics not the canon version but Catherine has been changed to Evelyn lol)

Caleb closed the door behind him. Barely listening to his brother's ramble on how they (again) almost died out there in the Boiling Isles' woods, he brushed the dirt off his coat and picked the stuck leave out of his hair.

"Calm down, Pip. Don't you think it's a little interesting to see how different the flora and fauna of this place is in comparison to earth?"

Philip halted his rant to stare at his brother.

"Oh, right. Now that you mention it... it's actually very interesting how the flora and fauna here tries to eat me or set me on fire or bring death upon me in any other way!", he replied sarcastically while wiping ash and dirt from the surface of his journal. "I can't wait to leave this place behind and be back on earth.", he mumbled angrily, stuffing his journal back into the satchel that was handing around his torso.

Philip started marching off up the stairs to where the brothers each had their chamber. Caleb followed without much thought but stopped upon a sweet scent coming from the kitchen. He couldn't quite say what it reminded it of, he doubted to ever have smelled a scent so sweet as sugar. Maybe that was it. Maybe Mrs. Clawthorne was melting sugar in her cauldron. But Caleb was too curious to just let it be a theory of what it could be.

"Are you coming?", Philip groaned annoyed.

"In a second. Go ahead. I'll be right there.". Caleb didn't even look at his brother when saying that. Instead he stared into the direction of the kitchen down the hall. Philip rolled his eyes but did as Caleb told him to.

Taking a peek into the kitchen he saw not Mrs. Clawthorne in front of the cauldron, but her daughter.

Humming a melody he had never heard before, she danced and spun around the kitchen with a dozen ingredients and a recipe book floating around her.

Seeing her so lightfootedly move around the kitchen was a beautiful, magical sight to him. He came out of hiding to watch her better, a soft smile accompanying his face.

Her palisman curred, flying right next to her. "If you may have this dance?", she turned to the white bird placing her hand on her chest, "Why of course, you may!"

She took the right side of her skirt into her hand and held it up while pretending to share a more formal dance with her palisman. After a turn she was facing the doorway of the kitchen and once she opened her eyes her joyful dancing stopped.

"Caleb!", she yelled out, taken aback by his sudden presence. The magical spells she held up losing the power over the things they held: all ingredients and the book dropping to the floor, the large ladle stirring whatever was in the cauldron suddenly stopping.

"I'm sorry! Please excuse me, Miss, I had no intentions to startle you!", he quickly apologized and took a step back. "I was only curious about the smell coming from here and seeing you dance so happily and carefree... it...", he paused searching for the right way to phrase it, "it was radiant to watch."

The little red tint his cheeks got saying that didn't go unnoticed by her. Evelyn softly smiled at him with a quiet thank you. His eyes moved from her face to the dirty floor with all the ingredients spilled over it around her feet. Caleb cleared his throat and offered his help to clean everything up but Evelyn stopped him before he could finish his sentence. Drawing another blue circle in the air the floor cleaned itself effortless.

"I'm just trying to improve my cooking and baking skills a bit. I wasn't expecting audience though.", she explained eyeing him with a cheeky smile.

"My apologies if I made you uncomfortable.", he fiddled with his fingers, unsure what to do.

"Don't give it a worry. You said the smell got you curious?"

"Yes. It smells incredibly sweet. With a hint of...", he took the smell in a bit longer to make out what it reminded him of aside from melted sugar, "...blueberries?"

She gave a small chuckle. He always said things that barely made any sense but she found it intriguing.

"I have no idea what those blueberries are but what you're smelling is the tarts.", she took one that had no burned spots from the tray and offered it to Caleb to try.

His last meal was hours ago and dinner was even more hours away. It felt like he'd starve before dinner would even be served. And so he happily accepted the small snack in between.

"I think this time they turned out quite alright.", Evelyn leaned onto the kitchen counter and crossed her arms in front of her chest. She looked proud of herself. Usually more than half the tray ends up completely burned and inedible. This time only a few had burned spots.

Without thinking much (again) Caleb took a bite of the tart. While he chewed, holding his hand before his mouth, his eyes sparkled up. "Mmh!", he looked at the brunette standing in front of him, indicated he wanted to say something and with a stuffed mouth told Evelyn that he thinks the tarts are really good.

"You think?"

He nodded enthusiastically. He swallowed and continued: "These are probably the best things I've ever eaten!"

"Well, thank you.", she smiled and blushed shyly, "They're called 'Griffin's Breath'. I used to love them as a little girl."

"Griffin's Breath'? What a unique name to call tarts. I like the crunchiness in between the fluffy dough! What are those?", he went in to take another bite.

"Spider legs."

He froze for a second, eyes shot wide open.

"Excuse me, they're what?"

"Spider legs. That's where the tarts get their name from."

Caleb felt a shiver run down his spine and a sudden feeling of disgust rising in his guts. He still had the second bite he took in his mouth but with the information that he was eating spiders he had lost all appetite and the desire to spit it out. It would've been extremely rude of him to just spit out what he had already began to chew, especially when he said it was the best thing he's ever eaten just a minute earlier.

"Oh how... how nice. Yes, the... the spiders really give it all a certain unique flavor.", he tried his best to act over his distaste and wish to vomit with a crooked and instable smile.

"Just spit it out already.", she stared at him and his sorry performance with narrowed eye lids.

Caleb did so immediately. He coughed a few times to try and get the taste and remainders of spider legs out of his throat but with mediocre success. "I'm so sorry.", he wiped his mouth and put the tart on the kitchen counter.

"It's alright. That's the usual reaction to my kitchen creations.", she shrugged and chuckled.

"No, no it's more that I am not used to the delicate taste of spiders and would actually rather avoid eating them or body parts of them."

"I didn't know the other side of the world was so different.", Evelyn handed him a napkin, "You should show me around there someday. Show me your home town, your family and friends... I'd love to see that."

He blushed more this time. He cleaned off his hands and mouth with a nervous laugh. If she knew the truth, she would never suggest that. His home town would be her death, aside from his little brother there is no surviving member of his family remaining and he never truly had friends. However, the idea that she could stay in his life filled him with joy and this fluttering feeling in his stomach. "Maybe someday."

The two exchanged soft looks and smiles for a moment before Caleb's eyes got bigger and his smile fell again. "Your uh... your cauldron is-", he pointed behind her and couldn't finish his sentence once Evelyn turned around and exclaimed a panicked "Ah!" at the pink dough getting a will of its own.

While she tried to get it under control again, Caleb backed away a little, noticing just how close he is to her.

"Perhaps I should go again. I seem to only be distracting you here."

"It's fine. You can stay if you want. I enjoy your company, Caleb.", her voice softened on the last sentence and seemed to be the softest when pronouncing his name.

His blush giving color to his cheeks deepened and spread even more. The smile she gave him after saying that didn't help toning the red in his face down. There it was again: the feeling of a hundred small butterflies flying around inside his stomach. A feeling that was unknown to him, a feeling that was on the border between uncomfortable and pleasant, but a feeling Evelyn kept triggering with so many of her actions.

"I-I-I- Philip is actually waiting for me to join him upstairs and I'd hate to keep him waiting.", he rubbed his upper arm nervously and pointed at the door.

"I see. Well, in any case I'll see you later today."

Caleb smiled and slowly walked towards the door of the kitchen. "Ah, blondie, wait!", she called out again, making him stop and turn his head over his shoulder to look at her. He met her piercing teal eyes first before noticing that she held out another tart on a plate towards him.

"Eh- Evelyn I-"

"Not for you. For your brother. He didn't even have breakfast if I remember right. He must be starving."

"Oh.", he took the plate and met her eyes again with a small smile, "Thank you."

Evelyn's grin grew brighter as she held the eye contact for a moment longer. His brown eyes may not be as piercing as her teal ones but they radiated a warmth ans comfort she could sometimes find herself wishing to melt into. She slowly turned around, back towards her cooking experiment. She took one last glance at him over her shoulder before fully returning to the cauldron.

A little lightfooted and awestruck, with a pinch of nauseated, Caleb walked up the stairs and turned the doorknob to the chamber Philip claimed as his for the time being. He entered the room and leaned onto the door until it closed.

"Well that took you long enough.", Philip looked up from his journal he still tried to clean.

Caleb however was staring into nothingness, trying to hold on to the mental image of her beautiful face for just a minute longer. He didn't give his brother even a second of a glance as he walked to the desk, where he had registered Philip sat at, and put the small plate on it, commenting on it with a "For you."

"Food? Actual edible food? Thank goodness, I'm starving!", Philip's eyes sparkled up for a second upon seeing the tart. He picked it from the plate and already had his mouth open for the first bite when Caleb stopped him. "No, don't eat it. There's spiders inside."

As quick as the sparkle in this eyes came it was gone again. He examined the tart a bit better but decided to believe Caleb on this, despite the appetizing and almost inviting sweet smell, and set the tart back on the plate with a disappointed but not surprised frown.

"It's from Evelyn. She thought you would like a small something to eat since you skipped breakfast.", Caleb explained.

"Ah. Well, if it's from her then I don't want it at all.", his eye lids narrowed even further and he shoved the plate away. Evelyn is the last person he'd accept anything from. He disliked her and was not afraid to show so. To his worry, though, Caleb seemed to like her and secretly Philip feared there may be even more than just liking to it.

A few hours later Philip's eye lids didn't raise much higher from before as he watched his brother toss and turn in the bed groaning. Caleb had started complaining about queasiness half an hour after entering Philip's room and decided to lay down for a moment. Unfortunately laying down did not help his condition much.

"I think those Griffin's Breaths are showing their effect on my stomach.", he groaned in pain.

Philip pinched the bridge of his nose. "Why would you even eat them in the first place? Aside from the knowledge of what these witches eat and put in their recipes and that we can't eat majority of that, she could've put poison in it!"

"I don't think it was her intention to poison me."

"Right... and that's why you're lying here all sick-"

"Hand me the basin please-", Caleb interrupted, sensing the upcoming consequence of trying Boiling Isles' food.

Philip grabbed the basin and held it to Caleb, who clung to it and immediately buried his face in it with a retching sound.

"-vomiting.", Philip finished his sentence, rolling his eyes.

Once his stomach emptied itself Caleb spit into the basin before handing it back to his little brother and throwing his head back onto the pillow groaning and whining. Philip placed the basin on the floor and sat down on the bed next to Caleb. Remembering how Caleb would tend to him anytime he was sick when the two of them were still boys, Philip gently patted Caleb's back and assured him everything will be fine again but that next time someone in this place offers him food he should not just eat it to avoid this from happening again.

My favorite character from the Owl House is Hunter because his character arc is so good and his relationship with Willow is adorable. (He literally fell for her at first sight)

And my favorite character from X Men is Kitty (I hate her relationship with Cyclops because she was a CHILD AND HE WAS A GROWN ASS MAN WHEN THEY MEET IN THE COMICS. Also can I just say that I hate that they make Bobby (the guy who does the ice thing) gay because that came out of nowhere and it only happened because an alternative version Jean Gray and her version of Bobby is gay so she decides that all versions of Bobby is gay and she needs to help them be their true self and Bobby who keep in mind has shown sexual and romantic interest in women up to this point 'realizes' he's gay and the rest of the comic is just him coming out to everyone one by one and hardly anything else happens. I wouldn't have minded so much if it wasn't for the fact that most media still treats sexuality like there's only two options gay or straight which completely erases Bisexual, Pansexual, Demisexual, Asexual, to name a few. It just grinds my gears you know anyway sorry for the rant. Kitty deserves a good love interest hopefully she gets one)

I feel like if reader had magic I feel like it would be similar to ether to Luz's or Eda's.

Hunter was so awesome, and he felt relatable, too. He and Willow are cute together, let them have plant and palisman babies!

I like Kitty, and I haven't read the comics (except a handful) so I didn't even know that relationship was thing. (Who the f*ck wrote that?!) I use my favorite X-Men medias as canon, along with head and heart canons, because let's face it: There are so many separate comics with different writers, different movies and timelines, even three (now going to be four) separate X-Men cartoons, whatever books and games they have for the various media, and even the anime and other Marvel shows where the characters show up from time to time. It is SO confusing. So, I just pick my favorite out of the bunch and roll with those (and usually it makes enough sense. Except the timeline changes in the movies. That STILL confuses me. Who is alive? Who is dead? Hopefully Deadpool fixes things).

And yeah, for Bobby, only one version of him was gay. It would have made more senses if they built that into a story arc, took it slowly, instead of being so abrupt. Let the guy be gay or bisexual, but at least make it make sense and not just be considered a quirk or passing fancy. Give it some development. Some thought. Make it mean something. Let it happen like how The Owl House portrays romance and self-discovery. (I myself am part of the asexual community, and that took awhile to figure out, and to this day I'm still finding out more about how I view relationships, platonic or romantic or otherwise. I'm not sure if I truly am interested in romance or not, but in the past I had a crush on a guy and girl, and later found out I just thought they were really great friends). This stuff can take time, it can get messy and feel gut-wrenching, but it doesn't make a person less for being bisexual or gay or lesbian or asexual or straight or trans. None are better than the others, and none are less than the others. It does help to realize all of this isn't back and white. It's a big, mixed canvas of grays in every shade of cloud and ash and silver and stone and eggshell and storm and smoke. (Point is, LGBTQA+ isn't back and white, neither is being straight, but these things are not just quirks. They shouldn't be treated that way, as those are valid beliefs and emotions that don't go away). (I hope I said this right, I'm not always great explaining my thoughts on this kind of thing).

Reader having a power similar to Luz or Eda would be so wild! Surprise, they have glyphs! Surprise, they're part owl beast! They have wild magic, they're blessed by the last Titans, they kicked an evil old emperor/hypocrite into dust! The series finale might have been a little rushed (thanks a LOT, Disney. You should have given them extra time! Extra episodes! A whole lot more episodes than just three for the third season!) but I thought it was still good for the constraints put on Dana and her team. They did good.

My headcanons for Ghost

Ghost is a docile, affectionate, and sweet cat who likes people petting her. She is very loyal, sweet, and affectionate to Amity.

Ghost Will protect Amity any given chance she gets.

Ghost is not easily seen walking around the Manor because she is so small one will see her tail first before any of their other features.

(I don’t know where she came from if they are a family heirloom, carved by Amity, adopted from school late, or bought by the Blight, but whatever the case. Amity’s got herself a meow-meow.)

Bad Boy pet sits Ghost sometimes and temple doom them with obstacle courses. (Bad Boy and Bee will try to bathe the cat too which never ends well.) ( On my multi-muse)

Ghost likes the twins alright, but doesn’t like to be picked up or talked down to by them. She can already sense that Amity doesn’t like being babied so they won’t either.

This little gremlin can scream when they want something all across the walls mouth wide open and blue eyes piercing.

Ghost enjoys being terrible to everyone, but Amity when she is not feeling particularly angered by her or just want to play around with their owner. She will knock over Edric, Emira, and Odalia’s things on a moments notice when they are feeling bored.

She can’t figure out doors too well even if the door is cracked they will paw at the door to experiment if she can open it. That’s when they start shouting.

This cat will provide for their owner bringing Amity all kinds of gifts and offers that include a lot of dead things. She will be sad if she brings her one of the echo mice because she does not mind them. ( But Bee is eternally grateful for that! )

Ghost is not shy to meow constantly just to prove that she can make range.

Amity’s cat palisman is very strong, but doesn’t really enjoy being close to Alador’s abominations because they are gooey and unnatural and she just wants to stay clean,

Her cat palisman will jump up on all the furniture and is will not be spooked by people telling her to get down off of them.

As a cat Ghost does not spare anyone from putting it’s butt in front of their face especially Amity in the mornings.

Will scratch, hiss, and yowl on sight if anyone in the house makes Amity upset.

Will stick by Amity’s side when she needs her. Including hounding her for snuggles. Demands to be held.

She gets her fur all over Amity’s black clothes she has to use a lint roller often

Ghost will hiss and frizzle up their tail if Alador steps too close they don’t want that goop on them and he has a strange odor about him. She will not hesitate to hiss at Odalia too they’re not a fan of either Blight parents

Betas of her owner (Aurora, Alice) and Beta Willow (Nettle) have an okay status with them, although more sniffing is required to get a full reading on the two.

Ghost will sleep with Amity when she allows her to as long as she’s in the mood to have company.

Ghost chirps at Amity and has a lot of respect for her they will perch on her shoulder whenever it feels like Amity is in danger. But mostly will proudly be her staff.

Best Friends with Owlbert and enjoys being around Willow’s palisman Clover and Gus’s chameleon Palisman Emm.

Ghost is not quite sure about the students of Hexside they can tell Amity has had it rough with Skara and Boscha so as such will stick up their nose.

Ghost likes to knead bed sheets until there are little holes in them so smirks at Ams when someone has to go buy new sheets.

This kitty is not sure about ( Bee’s Wolf familar Lyra or Bad Boy’s familar Bunga They have a mutual respect, but as a cat is understandably scared of their massive size and overreactive nature. Does not mess with Bunga or Lyra Period.

Ghost is still getting to know Edric & Emira’s palisman (if they have any? I’ll accept headcanons or ideas for them for anyone’s individual palismans)

Hunter Noceda AU: Venance

(can't digitalize these rn so you'll get the sketches for now)

So yeah, Golden Guard version two!

When Belos does find out about Hunter in YBOS, Hunter gets the bomb dropped about them being related (idk how yet). but Hunter obviously doesn’t believe in it. Until Hunting Palismen comes around and they find this small thingy, Venance.

(thank you @bernardo-draws-and-cries for the name. Its based on the name Venâncio, which means “the one who hunts”)

He is another grimwalker made by Belos, he’s 12 (yeah.) and way more stressed (Belos has gotten more iron fisted after losing Hunter). Someone save this poor child

- He’s just starting out as the Golden Guard (and he’s not a coven head. Kikimora is. And she still wants him dead too), he’s still getting the hang of it. He does act tough and serious, way more serious than canon GG/Hunter, no space for goofyness.

- So yeah, a duo Hunting Palismen thing would be fun. Haven’t sorted out everything here but I do think Hunter would also go with Luz because of no palisman reasons. And he hasn’t met Ven yet, he only heard Lilith talking about him and Luz and Eda dealing with him on Separate Tides (he was busy drowning in guilt and trying to help with the money situation in other ways), so when he meets Ven and when he sees his face and how similar they are (and how many scars that kid already has), he’s reasonably confused/upset, like “Oh, that creepy man wasn’t lying. This doesn’t make anything on this situation better”

- After the initial surprise/confusion, Luz and Hunter jokingly call him Ghaterer until they learn his name, then they start calling him Ven. At first Ven hates this nickname but ends up reluctantly accepting it.

- Even before Eclipse Lake he’s so scared about being replaced, and knowing about Hunter’s existence in the Boiling Isles makes it worse, now he’s super sure he isn’t as valuable to Belos anymore. So he hates Hunter

- Hunter: come here youre part of the found family now

Ven: NO

Hunter: too late *picks him up*

Hunter: If Luz taught me something is that if you didn’t want to get assimilated into my found family, you should have killed me when you had the chance

Yeah that’s their dynamic when Hunter learns a bit more about him

- Venance doesn’t have much respect as the Golden Guard yet. He’s small (like, maybe even less than 1,50m/4′11″), young, has just been starting out on this role, like, in the last few months, could easily be picked up like a kitty, so he has to fight quite a bit to be taken seriously. Which results on him being way more grumpy and short tempered

- So he doesn’t take it very well when hes made fun of by the scouts in Latissa. Not at all

- Hunter, who was joking around until then:…are you okay?

Ven: I AM! *barely holding the tears back*

Hunter:

Hunter: that’s it youre part of the family now

Ven: you can’t do that

Hunter: we’re two and you’re one, we have your staff and youre very light.

(he still would put up a fight, and it would take a while for it to end. And he bites hard, he has very sharp fangs)

- Scouts: Go home with your sibiling

Hunter: *oh. Oh yeah i forgot we have the same freaking face*

- They don’t know yet about the grimwalker thing. Well, maybe Ven discovers later but at the moment where Hunting Palismen happens, neither of them know anything besides them being related, Ven got told he is his brother, and that Hunter was taken away from the coven before he was born

- Rascal seeing Hunter: hey you’re cool, i kinda want to be your palisman

Rascal seeing Ven: oh heck this kid needs help

- I’m not sure if Hunter gets Lil Rascal. Because on one side, would be fun for him to have Lil Rascal and train doing magic like this, but also could be good for Ven to have some small support back at home, like how they are to Hunter in canon. So this hasn’t been decided yet. Hunter could either get Lil Rascal and Ven doesn’t get a palisman/gets a blue jay palisman, or Ven gets Lil Rascal and Hunter comes back also empty handed

- So I’m going with the no palisman for Hunter route for now.

- It’s a bitter moment for both him and Luz. He tries to convince her that it’s okay, that they’ll get theirs soon, but she still kinda feels like a failure about this. And he himself thinks it’s because they don’t have a magic bile sac, so it’s not a good time for them. Eda and King lift their spirits a bit about this, though.

- Either by peeking around or just flat out being told, Ven does learn about him (and Hunter) being grimwalkers. What does he do with that? He has a crisis about it, which raises even more the stakes for him in Eclipse Lake. He still wouldn’t know his purpose for the Day of Unity, but he would know that he was created for it and could lose his position if he didn’t prove himself worthy of it.

- He would explode at Hunter one day and end up telling the truth about them being Grimwalkers (after Eclipse Lake)

- Ven: Do you want to know what you really are?! You’re a clone! You’re just someone’s clone just like me! A replacement!

Hunter, trying to not freak out but freaking out anyways: ...are you okay?

Ven; WHAT DO YOU THINK?

- If Belos is searching for Hunter, on the grounds of him being a more mature grimwalker than Venance, Ven could end up resorting to sabotaging the searches, he doesn’t want to be replaced.

- And he’s making Ven convinced that he will be replaced, to pit both boys against eachother. He gets Ven more under his thumb and not risking Hunter making Ven change his mind. Which doesn’t work as he intented, Ven does get scared about it but Hunter ends up pretty quickly going “dude why do you think I want to replace you?” and Ven is quickly thrown into a loop because he can’t understand why he wouldn’t want to do that

- Ven: what do you mean with “I don’t wanna be the Golden Guard”? If you’re like me you should DESIRE IT SINCE YOU WERE BORN

Hunter: lol no. I dealt with my need of approval a year ago on therapy.

Hunter: Also being a cop sucks.

- This boy is a tense child always a few bad moments away from a breakdown/meltdown. And has anger problems. A lot of anger in a very tiny body

- There’s some more interactions between Ven and the Noceda duo, and he would rather die than admit that he’s got slightly attached to them

- Eda: Luz told me that Golden Guard is a uwu smol boi that needs to be protected, hell knows what this means

Hunter, who definetly came there too because FUCKING COOL ASS CAVE AND LAKE: i hate/love her

Ven: If i ever see that human again-

Amity AND Hunter: watch your fucking mouth

(definetly not how it would play out but very funny sdkdshdfsj)

- In terms of strength he couldn’t defeat Amity in a fight for the key, he would lean more on the blackmailing. He is a 12 year old but he’s still on a position of power on the emperor’s coven and he knows where the key is, it would put the owlfam on Belos’ line of sight again (if they even ever went away from it)

- That or he passes out, gets dragged out of there by them (he’s a lil shit but they’re not going to leave him there alone where Kikimora could kill him) and he falls asleep for 12 hours in the couch on the owl house. Which ends up giving him a day where he can be just a kid. He’s very weirded out by everything but he enjoys it a little bit at least. He would still try to get the key and would be torn apart by the guilt of thinking of doing this and the guilt of not doing this

- It wouldn’t take much to make him want to stay in the owl house. He’s starved for positive attention. It wouldn’t be easy but also it’s not as hard as for how Hunter is right now in canon

- I don’t think this could happen but I keep thinking about one day him and Hunter switching places so he can be just a kid for one day. Would be cool to see him sneaking into Hexside (or being dragged there, which is more likely to happen) and interacting with Willow and Gus

And that’s some of what we have for Ven right now! He’s a fun character to figure out :3

This took SO MUCH TIME to write

Okay, so we're just starting off with seeing Belos' face. And save for the marking, he actually doesn't look that bad. Kinda reminds me of Ozai looking pretty normal in appearance despite being so cruel, I just wasn't expecting for it to be done so casually. And he's been to the human realm before, eh? Yeah, he's definitely Philip. Or at least someone related to him. Also, poor Hunter.

I'm so glad to see Willow and Gus again.

"Being nice usually works for Luz!" Poor Amity, but I'm really glad this show is subverting the Power of Friendship speech you see so often in kids cartoons. Obviously Hunter will join the good guys eventually, but it's nice that they're not rushing it, either.

It's interesting to see that Hunter seems to have problems with his staff, almost like it's glitching.

OH MY TITAN, THIS FIGHT SCENE! Especially in terms of the animation! And just seeing Amity have new uses for her abomination magic throughout the episode in general (like the jar of abomination goo; hello Katara!), but this was definitely the highlight of it.

Luz wondering if the mushrooms are permanent had me cackling!

She’ll eat it all everything under the sun and even be adventurous eating a wide margin of other foods. She almost always has hot sauce on her there isn’t a single kind of meal she doesn’t love covered in the hot stuff.

Sleeping Habits: She sleeps well, for the most part, when she isn’t attempting to be a night owl she falls asleep relatively quick, even rivaling some of the younger Luz’s with how early she can fall asleep. It’s likely she has sleep apnea as she has tendency to snore so very loud and wakes up during the night in cold sweat, when she stops breathing from night terrors. She will oversleep until almost 2:00 in the afternoon if not monitored.

Book Preferences: She’s not a big egg-head book reader like the rest of the squad is the most Bad Boy read in school was “Animal Farm”, and The “Lord of the Flies”, in high school two books that peaked her interest a little bit. She also enjoys listening to Cottage read some horror books it’s the most she’ll really listen rather than use her eyes to read, in fact, one would say she struggles to read efficiently.

(What headcannons do you have for ghost)

Ghost is a docile, affectionate, and sweet cat who likes people petting them.

(I don’t know their gender) They are very loyal, sweet, and affectionate to Amity. Will protect her any given chance they get.

Ghost is not easily seen walking around the Manor because they are so small one will see their tail first before any of their other features.

(I don’t know where they came from if they are a family heirloom, carved by Amity, adopted from school late, or bought by the Blight, but whatever the case. Amity’s got herself a meow-meow.)

Cottage petsits Ghost sometimes and temple doom them with obstacle courses. (Bad Boy will try to bathe the cat too which never ends well.) ( On my multi-muse)

Ghost likes the twins alright, but doesn’t like to be picked up or talked down to by them. They can already sense that Amity doesn’t like being babied so they won’t either.

This little gremlin can scream when they want something all across the walls mouth wide open and blue eyes peircing.

Ghost enjoys being terrible to everyone, but Amity when they are not feeling particulary angered by her or just want to play around with their owner. They will knock over Edric, Emira, and Odalia’s things on a moments notice when they are feeling bored.

They can’t figure out doors too well even if the door is cracked they will paw at the door to expirement if they can open it. That’s when they start shouting.

This cat will provide for their owner bringing Amity all kinds of gifts and offers that include a lot of dead things. She will be sad if they bring her one of the echo mice because she does not mind them. ( But Bee is enternally grateful for that! )

Ghost is not shy to meow constantly just to prove that they can make range.

Amity’s cat palisman is very strong, but doesn’t really enjoy being close to Alador’s abominations because they are gooey and unnatural and they just want to stay clean,

Her cat palisman will jump up on all the funiture and is will not be spooked by people telling them to get down off of them.

As a cat Ghost does not spare anyone from putting it’s butt in front of their face especially Amity in the mornings.

Will scratch, hiss, and yowl on sight if anyone in the house makes Amity upset. Will stick by Amity’s side when they need her. Including hounding her for snuggles. Demands to be held.

Ghost will hiss and frizzle up their tail if Alador steps too close they don’t want that goop on them and he has a strange odor about him. They will hiss at Odalia too they’re not a fan of either Blight parents

Betas of her owner (Aurora, Alice) and Beta Willow (Nettle) have an okay status with them, although more sniffing is required to get a full reading on them.

Ghost will sleep with Amity when she allows them to as long as she’s in the mood to have company.

Ghost chirps at Amity and has a lot of respect for her they will perch on her shoulder whenever it feels like Amity is in danger. But mostly will proudly be her staff.

Best Friends with Owlbert and enjoys being around Willow’s palisman Clover and Gus’s chemelon Palisman.

Ghost is not quite sure about the students of Hexside they can tell Amity has had it rough with Skara and Boscha so as such will stick up their nose.

Ghost likes to knead Iris’s bed sheet until there are little holes in them so smirks at her when she has to go buy new sheets.

This kitty is not sure about ( Aspen and Bunga (also Luz Squad related) They have a mutual respect, but as a cat is understandably scared of their massive size and overreactive nature. Does not mess with Bunga or Aspen Period.

I'll put everything under the cut cause it's long as fuck sorry

1- that's something I'm actually working through! Since we still don't know basically anything about Eda's family and how they reacted after the curse (except for Lilith obviously), Eda kind of runs away from home after getting cursed, looking for this mysterious lonely witch who knows a different way to use magic, but I'm still not sure if she actually comes back home to tell her parents she has a mentor that could help her or if she leaves that duty to Lilith after assuring her she's gonna be okay with Luz (because Lilith will absolutely be the first to look for and also find Eda). I'm mostly imagining her parents as lively- cause both Eda and Lily have quite the temper even if Lily tries to hide it- but still somewhat attached to the rules and traditions given by the Emperor, and having your most talented child cursed in a way that hinders her magic in a world where magic is literally everything... yikes. But the idea of her finding someone who could actually help her even if not through a cure for the curse could be something easy to accept all things considered, despite living far from them. This part is still a work in progress, but maybe we'll get more info on the Clawthorne parents next season!

2- Willow and Gus are definitely still Luz best friends and they got to know each other in a very similar manner as in canon! Luz still found her way into Hexside when she got on the Boiling Isles and they all went to school together. Same goes for Amity, Bosha, Skaara, Viney etc..., but in particular the relationship with Amity takes longer to develop also cause I’m a sucker for slowburn

3- Owlbert is still Eda's palisman and she'll get him while under Luz's tutelage! Luz instead has her own staff, but I'm deciding on the palisman itself cause there's several options:

no Palisman, only magical staff that's a bit weaker than others due to that, because Luz still doesn't feel like she deserves it as a "real" witch/doesn't have such a connection with the Isles like others born there/didn't felt particularly drawn to any creature and decided to wait. But she gets her Palisman as well later, influenced by Eda: a snowy owl, an ashy-faced owl, or a burrowing owl. Snowy Owl -> mostly bc fitting Azura's white aesthetic Ashy Faced Owl -> I think the most well known owl species of the Dominican Republic, with its peculiar gray colored face Burrowing Owl -> have you seen these guys they're damn adorable and tinyyyyyy- (also another species found in the Dominican Republic actually)

A black cat Palisman, since they're the most common and stereotypical symbol for witches and it would totally be in character for Luz to go "uehuehe kitty". Also because of her hoodie if yall want to count that.

A black dog/hound, one of the goddess Hecate sacred animals, the one representing loyalty obviously and the emotive part of magic and energy. In general I think dogs fit Luz well tho.

Some... mystical or mythological creature of some kind? Cause Luz realizes she can go hogwild with her palisman and thus frees her imagination.

4- the portal to the human world got lost in some way after Luz arrived in the Boiling Isles! That's why she's stranded there and hasn't seen her mom in more than 25 years :) I don't have the details yet since, again, we have so little information on the portal itself! Why in canon Eda's the one who has it? Was it in her parents possession or she found it in the Night Market or something? Where does it come from originally?? Hell if we know. This obviously becomes a bit of a problem for my au cause it influences how Luz arrived in the Isles in the first place. Could it be a random human treasures smuggler who accidentally brought her there? Did the Emperor/Emperor's Coven had it and things got out of hand? Or maybe the Clawthorne, or even the Blight family, got it? The only thing I'm sure of is that yes, both Luz and Belos are actively looking for it, for different reasons of course, and that hypothetically in the au story it will jump up again, and there will be drama and angst.

5- Luz definitely upgraded her glyph craft!! She experimented and honed both glyphs and skills through the years, finding new glyphs, different combinations, variations and applications, and is now super prepared, enough to keep up with the Emperor's coven squads that try to capture her- and Amity. She kind of adapts to the situation so her equipment isn't every day 100% the same, but the casting methods are similar: carved jewelry and accessories, embroidered fabrics, runestones, she even made her own (mono use) stickers! Naturally, these objects aren't infinitely durable and using them consumes them physically and energetically, but depending on the material and size they vary in durability and power. Though, the trusted notepad and pencil are always there in some pocket, along with some already-drawn papers for emergencies. She also got a couple of tattoos that include glyphs, one of which is a light spell, obviously, but it's a more risky way of casting since it uses her own physical energy, so the glyphs themselves are small. Both Gus and Willow got one as well! and Amity too but it's technically a secret

6- oh you know she will lmao I mean, she's not Steven Universe, but she is observant and a good person, and understands that sometimes certain situations, events, upbringing and generally education cough Emperor propaganda cough bring people to do bad stuff. This won't stop her from smacking to the ground and eventually punch if she runs out of glyphs whoever tries to hurt her or her loved ones. If they show regret and/or understand what they're doing is wrong, changing their ways, she might concede her forgiveness, but otherwise they're gonna eat the dust. I think she knows every member of Amity's squad by name tho?? And she kinda has fun escaping law, so the fights can go like "Hey Steve, I heard you're a dad now! Congrats dude!! If you want I can make you explode a little so you can stay home and play with the baby beast!" or "Wait, you guys don't even have dental?? You should have told me, I would have aimed lower!"

With Amity is a whole other thing, the romantic tension between them is so thick the rest of the team feels like they're intruding something every time for f sake

What constitutes a ‘Demon’?

There’s been some discussion amongst this fanbase about what exactly a ‘demon’ is. We know they come in a wide variety of shapes and forms, and we know that demons are evidently capable of full sapience (but not all of them are).

From what we know thanks to King, our not very preeminent scholar on the matter, demons are “grim tricksters of the twilight, creatures of sulfur and bone,” that they “live only to create chaos and misery”, and all have a weakness to purified water (and passive-aggressive comments).

What purified water exactly is in the context of this show, I’m not sure and it might not even be elaborated upon, but it’s fun to think about! So perhaps ‘demon’ refers to any creatures with a weakness to purified water. While King’s account should admittedly be taken with a grain of salt, considering how inaccurate he was with the Snaggleback (or not, since according to @anistarrose we may have simply encountered a juvenile and not a full adult), what his words seem to imply is that demons are nocturnal, are said to cause chaos, and are made of sulfur and bone. That last bit intrigues me the most- Humans already have sulfur in our body, so that implies that demons have a particularly high ratio. That, or witches simply have little to no sulfur in their bodies, seeing as how humans aren’t from the Demon Realm and wouldn’t be included in that context.

But what about magic? I’m of the assumption that demons can’t do magic, and perhaps that’s what differentiates them from witches. However, in Covention, two witches from the Bakers Coven try to invite King, which seems useless since we know he doesn’t have a magic bile sac.

And how do we know? In Episode 8, Eda is in King’s body and attempts to cast magic while trapped at the Kitty Cafe. Eda is an incredibly skilled and experienced witch, so she’s never had an issue with the skill of casting magic, and even if King had an incredibly diminutive sac that hasn’t fully developed, it should’ve yielded at least some kind of spell. Eda states that she’s “no longer a witch” indicating she knows King isn’t, and Roselle and Dottie agree.

However, if one considers the theories about King having once been the King of Demons, and even the Boiling Isles Titan, then... he could be a one-of-a-kind person. Meaning, there’s no one like him, so no one actually knows his true capabilities and nature. However, King is certain that he was the King of Demons, so for now, let’s just say he is one.

So why would those two Baker Witches be interested in King joining, if he can’t do magic? Perhaps they don’t realize he’s not a Witch because they’ve never seen anyone else like him. Maybe it’s just a throwaway gag/joke that I’m taking too seriously. Perhaps non-witches have some value to covens as testers and voluntary subjects. Amity says the Covention is only for witches, did those two bakers just assume King was a witch because he was there? We see this guy at the Covention;

And he looks a lot like this demon;

But it’s highly likely he’s just there as a placeholder background character.

Could a demon perform magic if you transplanted a magic bile sac to their heart? If so, would ‘demon’ more specifically refer to beings who are born without magic, but still capable of it later on down the line? Eda seems to be under the impression that Luz can’t ever gain a bile sac, so presumably neither can demons, but maybe there’s a difference between human and demon anatomy to be considered.

The line blurs when we acknowledge Adegast, AKA that one-off minor villain who died in his debut. Eda calls him a puppeteer, specifically a “demon who specializes in scamming and manipulating people.” Adegast is a demon, but he can also conjure powerful illusions. Do these illusions count as magic- Specifically, illusion magic? When we first meet ‘him’ in his wizard illusion, he briefly summons two spell circles, but is that actual magic or just an illusion that looks like magic (versus actual magic that creates an illusion)? Perhaps Adegast’s illusions technically aren’t magic, at least not magic as the Boiling Isles defines it (presumably something to deal with a bile sac). If he were an Illusion Witch, why is he in the Potions business? Is it like Willow, where she was placed into a track she wasn’t good at?

We see Adegast create an illusion by spraying Luz with a cloud of smoke, and when his puppets are destroyed, they dissipate into smoke, so perhaps that’s what they all are; Just smoke and mirrors, minus the mirrors. So because Adegast’s illusions don’t come from bile, it’s not magic, ergo he’s not a witch and this lends further credence to the ‘Demons are those who can’t do magic’ theory. On another note, we see Adegast revert to a smaller ‘true’ form after being wounded by Luz... is this form the result of magic, or just an illusion or the effects of a potion?

(If his illusions don’t come from magic and he can’t perform it, then Adegast probably shouldn’t have entered the Potions business when Potion magic is such a big deal that there’s a designated major coven for it. Even if he got Eda out of the way, he’s competing with literally every other Potion Witch in the Boiling Isles, and they have the advantage of magic! Maybe he uses his illusions to make his potions seem more potent than they are, who knows? This lends to the unpleasant image of him spiking potions with his illusionary gas, but this show has always been pretty horrifying, so.)

Hooty is referred to by the Demon Hunters as a ‘house demon’. There’s the possibility that Hooty was made by Eda, since her owl constructs resemble him so much, and Hooty mentions Eda teaching him everything he knows. However, the Demon Hunters also mention removing Hooty from the house, when he IS the house... Perhaps this is a case of characters not fully understanding who they’re interacting with? We do see living alarm bells at Hexside and the Covention center, and a doorknob that tries to eat Luz in Episode 2. Could the term demon also apply to living fixtures who are made for a purpose?

If demons also refers to living beings who are made, I assume Abominations don’t count as demons because they don’t eat and thus aren’t living, which would explain that distinction.

Is that why Eda calls the Bat Queen a demon, since palismans are living beings who are made? However, we don’t know if Eda is aware of the Bat Queen’s palisman nature or not, so her being a demon could just be an assumption on Eda’s part. Palismans also presumably have magical abilities (and we see the Bat Queen appear to use a spell to bind Willow and Gus). So, CAN Demons perform magic, or is there a misconception here?

There’s also the possibility that ‘demon’ is just a catch-all term. An othering term, meant to describe anything that isn’t a witch. Only... witches come in a wide variety of appearances, some more inhuman than the rest. Are witches all the same species, and thus able to procreate with one another (and thus a demon is a being a witch couldn’t reproduce with)? Do all witches, amongst their bile sacs, share a common DNA or ancestry? Are they all the same species, merely different in appearance because that’s just the way they work, or because of magic causing changes? Or does it just refer to non-humanoids?

Maybe ‘demon’ is just a societal definition, and a loose one at that. Maybe it DOES refer to animals and beasts, but because of social biases, some characters are called demons when they’re not? Beast-keeping is a term, but Demon-keeping isn’t, as far as we know. Getting into further speculation, could ‘demon’ refer to the original inhabitants of the Boiling Isles? Could witches have come from another land beyond the bones of the titan? Are demons the creatures born directly of the titan’s flesh, or perhaps the parasites that inhabited its body? The descendants of its equivalent to gut bacteria and white blood cells? The Boiling Isles is located within the Demon Realm, which could imply they’re progenitors of some sorts. Of course, maybe demon also has multiple definitions as well.

Overall, here are my proposed ideas for what defines a ‘demon’ in the Boiling Isles;

-Not capable of magic due to lacking a bile sac

-The indigenous population of the Boiling Isles

-Wildlife in general, as well as those linked to beasts or like them

-A social term for those perceived as more animalistic, regardless of such an observation has actual scientific accuracy or not. Perhaps the social aspect of the term is also for beings who aren’t immediately identifiable, don’t belong to a specific species, are one-of-a-kind, etc. AKA it’s the Boiling Isles equivalent to the term ‘cryptid’

-Non-humanoids

-Those vulnerable to purified water, with a presumably high concentration of sulfur making up their anatomy

-Anything living that isn’t a ‘witch’, specifically the species (this applies to living constructs as well, presumably, though if it extends to Palismans is unknown)

-An unknown, perhaps yet-to-be introduced factor

-A term with various definitions and meanings depending on the context

-Some combination of the above-mentioned ideas

What do you guys think? It is worth noting that King refers to demons as “creatures like me,” which implies perhaps some shared genealogy/something objective and physical, not just societal, but who knows? Perhaps the most important question to ask is;

Am I overthinking things?
