The last full week in February is the perfect time to launch!!!!! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🙌🏾❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🙌🏾🙌🏾
The Gender In Real Life campaign is the inaugural #DorianCoreyProject 2024 social media crusade to highlight Black Trans, Gay and Queer elders whether they be local, national or across the African Diaspora. This campaign will continue throughout February and conclude in June 2024 ahead of Pride Month and Black Music Month. The concept of Gender In Real Life is to highlight the efforts of (hyper) visible Trancestors and Ancestors whose life work inspires Black LGBTQIA people today. We honor and thank them for their insights, sacrifices and introspective gifts. At a time where rights for Black people across Gender and Sexuality lines are increasingly being curtailed; in addition to multiple genocides and the ongoing global pandemic(s) that disproportionately affects Black/Trans people, the necessity of Ancestral Veneration in such a time is essential to our singular and collective wellbeing. Help us honor our Trancestors and Ancestors today! #DorianCoreyProject #GenderInRealLife #GIRL #buffalomusicians #electronicmusic #buffalomusic #blacktranswomen #blackwomen #blackmen #blackmusic #buffalo #blackmusicians #bandcamp #beatmaker #performanceart #musicproducer #niagarafalls #beatmaker #musicinthemaking #hieronymusbosch #producerlife #buffalony #beatmakers #soundcloud #musicians #logicprox #blackhistorymonth #doriancoreyproject #trauma #theblackfamily #universityatbuffalo

Such a cool little set. I was inspired to build this set by one of my subs.. and figured why not. I’m currently building car and trucks sets (Lego, Mega and other brands..) and figured if I don’t build this set now I never would.
It’s a great set and fits well with my vehicle theme right now.

Trans Wizard Tournament Charity List
This is our official list of suggested charities. I wanted to draw attention to some smaller groups working on a more local or grassroots level. And I wanted to highlight in particular those groups that work towards helping trans and non-binary people of colour, given the current political climate. Projects in the UK also warrant special attention, as Rowling's terf beliefs are representative of a larger problem within her country and efforts to limit the rights and protections of trans folks living there. Also, many of the UK-based organisations are in critical need of donations during at this moment.
I encourage you all to visit the sites, read and research, and see what resounds with you, personally!
Trans Justice Funding Project  - Run by a panel of Black, Brown and Indigenous trans folks making grants directly to groups across the nation, the TJFP "is a community-led funding initiative...to support grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people...We center the leadership of trans people organizing around their experiences with racism, economic injustice, transmisogyny, ableism, immigration, incarceration, and other intersecting oppressions."
Reclaim - A Minnesota-based organisation which is of particular help on the ground right now during the current political situation, Reclaim works "to provide financially and culturally accessible care to queer and trans youth and their families, as well as continue to train practitioners and partner in community to create systems of change at the intersection of gender and racial justice"
Mermaids  - This organisation in the UK "has been supporting trans and gender-diverse children, young people, and their families since 1995," and is in desperate need of donations to keep their vital services in operation.
akt - This UK-based organisation "supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in an hostile environment," and they are working especially hard to create safe spaces for these young people during the Covid crisis.
TransWomen of Color Collective - This group works directly with community members "who exist at the nexus of state sanctioned violence; sex workers, poor people, homelessness...and folks deeply entrenched in complex, seemingly inescapable traumatic environments," and works to build "a network of trans, non-binary Black and people of color who are artists, healers, entrepreneurs and creators."
Gender Spectrum - Works a bit differently from many of the others on this list, focused on creating "gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens," by working to break down gender stereotypes that negatively impact children, and contribute to vicitimization, substance abuse, and suicide among transgender and gender-diverse youth, through professional development and training programs with educators.
Trans LifeLine - Is "a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the community, support, and resources they need to survive and thrive." They can provide peer support or help with legal issues, such as walking through the process of changing names, and providing the funds to do so.
The Trevor Project - "The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people under 25."
Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund - "Is committed to ending discrimination based upon gender identity and expression and to achieving equality for transgender people through public education, test-case litigation, direct legal services, and public policy efforts."
If you would like to suggest an addition to this list, please let me know so it can be researched. There are a lot of other organisations out there that are doing great things, but it is important to realise we simply can't list them all, and I wanted to gather a diverse group that are working in different ways to address the myriad issues that face the transgender and gender diverse community.
Also, if you are interested in donating to any of these charities, but do not wish to participate in the auction as a creator or bidder, but would still like your donation to be counted as part of the Trans Wizard Tournament total raised, please feel free to donate in honour of JK Rowling :D

You can do so many things! You can donate now to help fund our work year round, and you can use your voice and your personal platforms to to take action.
Contact your state representatives and senators and tell them to oppose any anti-trans legislation. You can look up your state reps on this site.
Contact your US Senator and tell them to support the Equality Act.The Equality Act is federal civil rights legislation that will expand protections for LGBTQ people, all women, and everyone currently protected under our nation’s civil rights laws.
Donate to trans-led organizations. The Trans Justice Funding Project has a list of trans-led organizations to support. You can donate directly to TJFP, they provide grants to trans-led organizations and projects.
Educate people in your life. This one is huge. Educate your friends, your family, your peers, your community, about the many attacks on trans youth — and encourage them to get involved! It takes all of us to make the change we need.

What can you do to promote trans justice? Donate to TJFP!
New Post has been published on https://petersontoscano.com/promote-justice-transgender-people/
How you can promote justice for transgender people?
Art by Amir Khadar in collaboration with TGI Justice Project. Feel free to download this piece of art and many others here.
Today is the day the Trump Administration’s ban of transgender people from serving in the military goes into affect. I joke, as a Quaker pacifist, I would be happy to see even more of these bans limiting who serves in the military. I say bring back the ban on gays and lesbians. We should ban all women, cis and trans from serving. Let’s ban all men, cis and trans from serving. In fact, let’s ban everyone from serving in the military. But that is my pacifist fantasy.
Banning trans people in any area of society is unjust, regardless of how any one of us feels about the military. It reinforces the false notion that some people are more reliable and valuable than others in our society. It stigmatizes and marginalizes people who already face discrimination in every area of society. Just like churches have been impoverished by driving LGBTQ people out, similarly any institution that bans trans people becomes weaker from the brain and heart drain they perpetuate. These bans undermine the safety and wellbeing of trans and gender non-binary people.
Download the annual report–it is filled with wonderful stories.
I am continually impressed by the Trans Justice Funding Project (TJFP) In a time when transgender and non-binary people are asserting themselves in a society that does not yet fully value them, this project is essential work. TJFP raises money, lots of it. $650,000 in 2018. They invite transgender groups (with budgets less than 250,000) to submit proposals for grants. TJFP then convenes a team of transgender justice folks to read ever application to determine who gets what.
TJFP never stipulates how the groups use the money–they trust the groups to do what they need to do with it. They also give money to groups that have and do not have non-profit status (recognizing it is not an easy or cheap process to getting non-profit status.) In their most recent annual report, they explain:
The Trans Justice Funding Project is about investing in trans communities who are making decisions by and for ourselves. In the last six years, we’ve received 877 applications and distributed 717 grants through our community-led process, with funds we’ve raised that total over $1.9 million!
Gabriel Foster, Co-founder and Executive Director
I am a monthly donor to the TJFP. Whenever I have a little extra money, I send it to them as well. I encourage people to give to this group. If you are someone who is alarmed at how transgender and non-binary people are treated, if you feel it is wrong and something needs to be done, here is an excellent way to contribute to the positive work by trans people for trans people. Give up something for a week or two and use that money to support TJFP. Have a fundraiser and donate to TJFP. Pool together with friends and send in a donation. Even consider being a monthly donor–even as little as $5 a month.
This year I will increase my monthly giving to Trans Justice Funding Project.
Click here to find out how you can contribute to this great work.
