Ashe is genuinely one of the most caring and kind people you’d ever met. You met your first day at the monastery and accidentally tripped up the stairs going to the library. Ashe saw and immediately asked if you were okay, making sure you had no injuries and reassuring you if you were a little embarrassed.

You mentioned that you were new, and he offered to take you on a tour of the monastery. You’d already been given one by Seteth, but Goddess knows he was difficult to pay attention to, so you agreed. It was way more fun than studying, and Ashe’s company was a lot better than being alone in a new place.

You grew accustomed to having him by your side—whether it be in the Blue Lions classroom, the training arena, or the dining hall. You were inseparable.

Sure, the rest of the Lions were amazing company, but it just didn’t compare to Ashe.

You both kept the other Lions out of trouble, making sure they do their best in school and training as well as each other. Ashe uplifts you in every aspect of your life, whether it’s your academics, talents, training, or just being your best self. He’s genuinely your biggest supporter and this is still before you get together. Imagine how he is once you actually do.

Ashe is like, the sweetest boyfriend to exist. He wants to do almost everything for you just for the sake of taking care of you, but also respects your boundaries. No PDA or affection that is too much for you to handle. Keeps an eye out in case you do get shy, but thinks it’s super cute so he might do it on purpose here and there. Never too far, though.

It gets rough when Lonato dies, and even harder once the war begins. With Dimitri and the Professor’s return, the war becomes serious and your relationship is put under a lot of strain. There are stressful times and hard conversations about your lives on the line. But never once does he want to leave you or think that you’re not worth the added stress.

If anything, Ashe trains harder to be able to protect both him and you, even though he knows you’re fully capable of protecting yourself. You do the same, ready to risk your life to save him even though you promised him you wouldn’t.

Luckily for the both of you, it doesn’t come to that. The war is won, and it is time for peace.

You and Ashe find peace in Faerghus, where he takes over Lonato’s lordship and works closely with Dimitri and Byleth to rebuild Fodlan. You help him, supporting your now-fiancé to the best of your abilities.

Your life has been up and down since the day you met Ashe, but you wouldn’t change it for anything. Especially when you see the tears in his eyes as you walk down the isle, all of your former classmates and friends around you. Life is good.

Dedue was the first person who came to mind for you! On one hand, your somewhat similar in the way you love, protect, and care for those close to you. hi. we're back to svsss again. i read Asymptotical's Many an Ill to Cure yesterday. There was this line that sort of caught in my head:

If this bit of lore was true, then Yue Qingyuan was married to Shang Qinghua of all people, and that was about the only matchup he could think of that was possibly worse than pairing Shen Qingqiu with Liu Qingge.

and my brain.... ran with it. not for very long, because i really don't have a GREAT grasp of these characters and also i should absolutely be doing something else. but here you go.

At the ripe old age of twenty-something, Shang Qinghua had successfully lied and cheated his ass off to become the An Ding Head Disciple. It absolutely didn't mean his troubles were over -- it was still An Ding, and An Ding always meant backbreaking work, no matter how high up you climbed, and haha also there was still the entire fucking plot left. But at least he had a really nice house now! At least people had to pretend to respect him! At least the System wouldn't keep that fucking countdown clock in the corner of his eye about how he had X months to make Head Disciple before it nuked his brain into a crisp!

Overall, things were going about as great as could be expected!

Except for, you know, this... this one little thing.

"What???" Shang Qinghua said, when Shizun had first lobbed it at his head.

The Lord of An Ding Peak looked askance at him. Shang Qinghua cleared his throat and tried again. "Begging this one's pardon, but... but could Shizun repeat that?"

"You'll be engaged to Yue Qingyuan," said the An Ding Peak Lord.

Yeah, that's what Shang Qinghua thought Shizun said.

FUCK!

This was his fault. Like, literally everything was his fault, seeing how he was effectively God, but this was a mistake that he didn't have to make! You could argue about the violence and the papapa, but in the end, he was speed-writing a stallion novel for money so he didn't starve.

But the engagement.

Airplane-Shooting-Towards-The-Sky had been trying to explain exactly why so many young, beautiful, cold cultivators were so eager to get with Bing-ge, even if they seemed to hate literally any other person ever. He'd eventually settled on the idea that in PIDW, even cultivators weren't truly respected as adults until they were married. In other words, marriage was a requirement! A spouse was a job position! Of course Bing-ge's wives would sell out for the best possible candidate, even if they were ambitious power-hungry snakes without a romantic bone in their body! Especially if they were ambitious power-hungry snakes without a romantic bone in their body!

In fact, even the Peak Lords of Cang Qiong did it! They were even married to each other! Even the Sect Leader! Haha, it wasn't so weird after all!

God. It would have been fine if he left it without explanation. It wasn't even like he kept the explanation -- no, he wrote it and forgot about it, just like how he did with half of the shit he wrote sleep-deprived and running on caffeine alone. And now he was stuck with this.

"Do you have any objections?" Shizun said, and then Shang Qinghua had to go noooo, of course not, Yue Qingyuan was a mighty and handsome cultivator who topped the unofficial rankings for most eligible bachelor on Cang Qiong for three years straight! How could this lowly Shang Qinghua possibly have any objections?

It was super lucky that Shen Qingqiu was too busy being engaged with Liu Qingge to murder Shang Qinghua for the affront.

Anyway, that was how Shang Qinghua had ended up here -- alone with Yue Qingyuan, sitting across from each other and drinking tea. There was a plate of delicately shaped cakes sitting between them that Shizun had heavily suggested Shang Qinghua should make. You know, to show off his culinary skills to his... his fiance.

“Shang-shidi," Yue Qingyuan said, turning a cake over in one hand. There was some muffled yelling in the background. Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge were clearly having a great time of their own scheduled courtship meeting session.

"Yue-shixiong," Shang Qinghua said. "Hi."

Yue Qingyuan's smile didn't waver. "These are very good," he said politely.

Of course they were good. Shang Qinghua wouldn't have been able to successfully suck up to Shizun if they weren't good. It had taken a lot of practice! And sabotage! Practice AND sabotage!

"Haha, thanks," Shang Qinghua said.

Faintly, an explosion sounded in the background. Yue Qingyuan's brows furrowed slightly. "Shidi," he said. "Could you perhaps open the door?"

I honestly feel this is one of the funniest matchups ever, but it would suck for you.

All three of them are extremely smart and that would make it extremely hard to escape.

I don't think they will live together but you'll either take turns between the three of them or you'll live in your own private apartment, and they come and visit you.

If it's the second one, then it would probably be strongly protected and even though you'll be by yourself they'll make sure you can't leave.

Obviously, you're going to get teased a lot, mostly by dazai and ranpo but sometimes by chuuya as well.

dazai is the type to defend you against ranpo and chuuya even though he does it more, ranpo doesn't really care but chuuya sometimes gets mad and that starts arguments between the two.

You probably like ranpo a little more only because during chuuyas and dazais argument, you can find some comfort in him.

Though he is still very mean. Ranpo loves to test you and play games with you. even if you already succumbed to stockholm syndrome, he will still test your love for them.

these tests would consist of various questions or sometimes even games.

for example, he would either hire someone to call you and pretend to be someone who can help you, just for ranpo to be listening in on the call.

Dazai is the least delusional out of the trio, with ranpo coming second and chuuya coming last.

even though dazai isnt as delusional, he wholeheartedly believes that you belong to him, and you should love him as much as he does.

ranpo is only delusional when you psychically deny him, as it would hurt him too much to know that you hate him so much that you wouldn't even let him push your hair back.

Chuuya on the other hand will be delusional until you say you hate him and try to murder him; he will always trick himself until believing that you don't hate him.

If you ever try to escape on the other hand, even though he doesn't want too, chuuya has the most violent punishments out of the three.

he hates hurting you, but he also is a firm believer that if your hurt enough once, he doesn't have to do it again.

dazai is the type to threaten you the first time and make it seem likes hes joking than when you actually try to escape the threat won't seem so empty. He'll tell you that if you ever tried to escape, he'll break your legs and never let you leave the house, but during this he'll be giggling. when you do try to escape, when he finds you, you'll wake with two broken legs, and he'll be laughing about how you won't be able to try to leave now.

Ranpo is the type of guy who shows you murder cases including all of the gory details, he loves your scared expressions and how you shake for days after. If you still try to escape, he'll be more hurt than anything and would let dazai and chuuya punish you while he calms down,

in general, this is like the worst-case scenario, the only thing worse would be a fyodor, mori, and nikolai poly relationship...

I'm rather quiet person, i don't like talking just for hearing my own voice. I think i'm a little bit pessimistic. I take long time to warm up to people but then when I decide that "yea, they are cool" i'm able to change my plans for them on spot. I really hate long term routines, they make me anxious. I'm night owl and really grumpy in the morning. I tend to be procrastinstor. Also my biggest weakness is being very pround person, asking for help or a break is hard for me most of the time.

My hobbies include writing, reading, taking trips around city, playing games and cooking.

In romantic partner I look mostly for independece. I have rather small social battery and I struggle with people who needs constant attention and affection.

As date ideas for misc I adore late night walks, i love looking at the light and breathing that characteristic night air. Also my love language includes gifts and quality time. From other random facts, I like cats and own one. I really dislike big parties and dancing.

⋆｡ﾟ☁︎｡⋆｡ﾟ☾ ﾟ｡⋆ dan heng actually appreciates the change of pace whenever he's with you; for most of his day, he's usually with march 7th or trailblazer, who aren't exactly the quietest people. though most of the time the both of you are in the same room together in silence, dan heng finds this solace comforting. for the moments that you two share a conversation, dan heng finds your insights very fascinating. he respects your space and is the last person who would overstep his boundaries, but a small part of him deep down would love to get to know you even better. as a partner, dan heng is the protective type. though he is in no way controlling, he'd go out of his way to ensure your safety. also, dan heng is secretly a romantic in private 100%. during the trailblaze missions, he saves up a portion of the place's currency in order to get you something that he thinks you would like. when he finds out that you stay up really late at night, he invites you to spend time in the archives together where the both of you would pour through books that catch your interest together <3 dan heng is too embarrassed to admit this, but he likes having your presence around even if you two don't exchange much words.

⋆｡ﾟ☁︎｡⋆｡ﾟ☾ ﾟ｡⋆ ayato was really intrigued by you when he first met you. though you came off as a bit pessimistic, ayato actually found it quite amusing and wanted to get to know you better. though the both of you initially clashed - considering the fact that ayato is the type to stick through routines and careful planning, it became a gradual kind of respect mixed with appreciation that blossomed into the potential for something more. as a partner, ayato plays his cards really strategically - in essence, he didn't want to mess something up with you. though you still were rather pessimistic, he actually offered a lot of comforting words and advice that he hopes you would take to heart. ayato deeply values work and he understands how asking for a break or for help is difficult, but he is the type who would encourage you to take it easy; at times, he'd even plan out something on a whim just to make sure you get to relax. he also likes your cooking, ayato is usually off limits in the kitchen because of his unorthodox food choices. though it goes against his usual personality, at some point ayato becomes open to the idea of going on spontaneous hangouts or walks with you - he noticed that unplanned things that you do together was rather exhilarating and eventually opens himself to that more often.

⋆｡ﾟ☁︎｡⋆｡ﾟ☾ ﾟ｡⋆ felix usually found it difficult to hit it off with other people, but with you, it was rather different. though he didn't understand why you remained quiet most of the time, he didn't dig too much into that. however, the time that he actually was interested in you (or rather, when he fell for you even if he'd deny it) was when he saw you feeding the cats around garreg mach monastery. despite your seemingly stoic and pessimistic exterior, you seemed very at home with the cats. he actually had a different view of you ever since, hence why he gradually tries to make conversation with you. as a partner, felix is incredibly stubborn when it came to ensuring that you were taking care of yourself. even when you procrastinate, felix would be there to help you out on any task that you're dealing with, given that he knew how it works. felix doesn't beat around the bush with his words and actions, so when he sees that you are already struggling, he'd wordlessly help you with it even if you don't ask him first, knowing how you have a hard time asking for help often times. felix enjoys taking night walks with you, and there are even times that you stay outside in the courtyard just breathing the fresh air and sometimes feeding the cats roaming in that area.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 137: Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura

Oh what, you thought we were going to be thought provoking and actually dive into Denji's struggle as a character through a normal lens? Ha-ha, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is “Never get involved in a land war in Asia,” but only slightly less well known is this: "Never expect Fujimoto to be normal".

The whole chapter is expectation subversion, which perfectly captures both Fujimoto's sense of humor, and his absolute desire for b-list and camp. I mean, just look at how we open, Denji giving a surprisingly long winded (for him) monologue about maturing past the point of taking whatever kind of affection he can.... before it's revealed that it's all in his head and he's sucking on a dead devil.

In all honesty though, this is rather unironically an important moment for Denji. Why? Because he knows better. He himself understands the situation that he's in, that he should be better than what he's doing, that he shouldn't be caving to the whims and mockery of a girl offering an empty promise. But he can't stop himself. He's so far below rock bottom in this moment that it doesn't matter if it's a lie, it doesn't matter if she's hazing him. What matters is that she's giving him attention, and a chance to delude himself from his current station in life.

Anyways, the pair go to a karaoke place and the girl gets going on a song, leading to probably one of Fujimoto's best action sequences in all of part 2 now.

And no, it's not the action itself that makes this an incredible moment, it's quite literally everything else. Denji fell for the trap, he took it hook, line, and sinker and is now stuck fighting off a small army of men with baseball bats while the girl sings an absolute rager in the background. The entire setup is just incredible, the sheer thrill that both viewers and Denji alike feel from the moment is impeccable, and it ends the chapter on just the right note.

I mean, look at this, the pile of bodies littering the hallway, the three panel shot of Denji's face, the matchup to end the chapter. Absolutely masterclass Fujimoto work on display.

I'd really like to take a closer look at Denji's reaction (and all the guys with bats too). These three panels give sort of a double meaning to Denji's character, in my opinion. The first, is self-deprecating humor at the fact that he ever thought he might stand a fraction of a snowball's chance in hell for the trap to not be a trap. And the second, well the second is Denji finding that Chainsaw Man spark again. Pure unadulterated violence, the feeling of superiority, of a challenge or uphill fight laid against him. Denji's in his element now, and that's dangerous for our girl here.

Anyways, the guys with bats. Very funny idea considering the girl "gets around", so seeing a lineup of guys appear with bats while Denji and this girl are on a "date" is a pretty good type of humor.

Overall, for how insane this chapter is, it's exactly what Denji needed. He needed to be beat down, he needed to feel that desperation, he needed to remember who he is. That even if he goes to school now, even if he has a little sister and a house and food and all sorts of stuff, that the part of him that became Chainsaw Man is still a part of Denji. That they're two sides of the same coin. That he's still strong and capable and dangerous, and that he can keep chasing all the dreams he could ever want.

The Contestants Are Here!

Thank you for your patience, I'm now ready to announce our contestants for the Obscure Character Showdown! There are 300 characters, split up into 6 groups of 50.

Here's how the schedule will work: Day 1 is Group A Round 1 Part 1, Day 2 is Group A Round 1 Part 2, Day 3 is Group B Round 1 Part 1, Day 4 is Group B Round 1 Part 2, Day 5 is Group C Round 1 Part 1, and so on and so forth until we reach Group F Round 1 Part 2, and then the next day we'll fold back over for Group A Round 2. I'm splitting up the rounds because tumblr can interpret posting many polls at once as spamming, and each group contains 25 polls, so. 13 one day, 12 the next.

I expect to start polls by Wednesday, May 31, but I may be a little later than that. I'll keep you updated.
